alright so his full name is elijah but he literally hates that more than anything, so it’s just eli

he’s the eldest son of the holidays, so logically that would make him the one to inherent the holiday schtick but here’s the thing

eli was never really great in school and that was mainly due to the fact that he has dyslexia and it wasn’t diagnosed until he was 15 but by that point, he had already given up on school 

he graduated though and he didn’t have the worst grades, he kept them up enough to stay in sports 

he was on the varsity football, hockey, and soccer teams

and he had been into boxing and going to lessons from the ages of 12-18

and mixed martial arts from 15-18

he basically grew up in the outdoors and there’s very little that he can’t do in that regard 

he’s also very handy 

so basically, after he graduated he kinda just left 

he started traveling the world, using his skills like sailing, horse back riding, and other things to travel

he rarely ever flies anywhere 

he comes back to holiday when the funds are low and he’s having a hard time keeping it even

his usual first stop s his aunt’s, anna, couch and then he figures it out from there 

he works odd jobs, like it’s ridiculous 

you’ll see him at the lake teaching sailing and it’s like “oh okay” and then he’s leading trail rides, and then you’ll see him lifeguarding at the beach, then he’ll be flipping burgers, and then like doing maintenance work for the hotel and it’s okay okay what the fuck dude 

if there is need for handy stuff or outdoors stuff, eli will definitely be down to help 

he loves his family more than anything???

roseanne hopenbauker, more commonly known as rose by her friends and family has always been a woman of high expectations. 

as the eldest child of the illustrious hopenbauker clan she put a lot on her shoulders even as a young girl 

there was one thing she excelled for in life and that was complete and utter perfection 

she excelled in school, dated a football player, won homecoming queen. she was the darling of holiday 

but she began to realize the men in her life always expected her to take a step back. that her achievements weren’t her own but to support a traditionally masculine world. 

fed up with always being second best she left for college at columbia where she double majored in business and economics 

determined to prove herself she kept going and got her masters in financial mathematics 

rose thought she had finally figured herself out, working on wall street, living in a cushy apartment on the upper east side 

but holiday had one thing new york didn’t family. despite the appeal of living on her own in nyc she realized she had invested so much in work she was completely alone 

so rose quit her job, packed her bags and moved back to holiday 

unsure of what to do with herself she put her business savvy to use and opened up holiday brewing 

she’s content with her little life and her bar, but still retains the same perfectionist tendencies and runs her life on a tight ship 

shes a very classy woman, you’ll never see her in a way she doesn’t want to present herself. she’s bad at communication and honesty and cares a lot about other people, though she’d never say it. she’s a tough badass chick still trying to find her place in the world basically.

Lucas is from Chicago, only son to the McKay. Coming from the high society, Lucas' parents marriage was a facade that they did not hide from their son.

His father owns a very successful business although the McKay come from a lineage of lawyers and judges in London, UK, his father being the first family member to settle in the USA. His mother is from New York City, coming from a wealthy and known family too. Lucas decided to study to be a very good lawyer, however, like the rest of the McKay’s.

He moved to Holiday six months ago to defend a family's friend that got into real trouble. He's been staying at the Shutter's Hotel for now as his stay in Holiday is still temporary.

Growing up was extremely easy for Lucas considering his family's wealth, he is not sorry for all the resources he has and for his advantages or for the sometimes dirty ways that rich people have to get what they want.

Unsupervised throughout his teen years, Lucas has developped a drinking and sometimes drug problem which he refuses to admit.

Lucas will walk over whoever he has to to get where he wants/needs to get. He is cynical, spoiled and he is very sure of himself in every way.

Lucas may look like a charming prince on the surface, but he is an entire hot mess if you get to know him a little bit better.

Marshall Van Der Byl was one of those children who knew what he wanted to be the moment the question was presented to him. He adored planes, more than anything in the world and knew his future was in the sky. 

His father was a military man and brought home with him a sense of national pride that he instilled in his son. Though his words always came with a warning: Marshall was too young to understand what service meant, and would not be permitted to serve until he had ( at the very least ) completed university.

So the idea floated from Marshall’s head for a number of years. The passion for aviation was still there, but he allowed himself to explore other options. He wasn’t dead set until he was forced to watch Wings (1927) in his history class. It seemed he was the only kid in class that actually picked up on the movie’s meaning, That it was a love story between two pilots -- even going so far as to show the first gay kiss ever in american cinema. ( receipts -- this shit is gay ).

but Marshall’s dad was still against it. He didn’t think his son would have the stomach to serve when the going got tough. He managed to get into his head.

The thing was, Marshall was just as passionate about the mechanics of the planes as he was about flying them. When it came time for university, he enrolled himself in two programs at two schools. One for piloting, and the other for aviation systems management at a local college. To fall back on, as he explained to his family. It was hell for four years, doing night classes and getting his courses cut down to the minimum so he could handle his work load. He managed to pass both, somehow. 

When he was ready, after a year off to rest, he joined the military. Aged 23. He was a member of the air force, enlisting for a six year run.

The badge almost went to his head. He got cocky and brash, pressed on by his fellows, who had much the same attitude. In time he thought he was beginning to loose his sense of self. not to mention how...hard it was too see hardships of war. He couldn’t help but think that what he had seen wasn’t even been the worst of it. That every day he might be put into a situation -- a dog fight, a rescue mission -- that might really fuck him up. He wanted to preserve his sense of self.

When his six years were up, Marshall applied to be an AST instead. A year later, he was running out to the planes to do maintenance as the pilots climbed out of their seats. 

that’s all i have for backstory rn. there’s def something else there but.....i don’t know what yet. maybe he gets conned. maybe he has a scandal idk

Finley grew up in LA to two very wealthy parents. The son of a surgeon and the head master of a private school he had the finest education money could buy and at 11 he began boarding school. 

Luckily for Finley his school came with a job for his dad so unlike many of the other kids at school he was lucky enough to be able to spend a lot of time with his mom and dad and his younger brother and sister. 

Unfortunately he did nothing to turn him into a better person growing up. Not only was the male extremely smart he was also far to confident for his own good and captain of the school football team. 

With his status came and ego that he still hasn’t learnt to control and his families money gave him a sense of power over the other kids. 

At 14 he was diagnosed with ADHD which explained a fraction of his behavior but even that couldn’t explain how easily he found being the center of attention in a room full of people. 

After high school Finley was accepted into Princeton where he is QB1 of the football team and majoring in Computer Programming and Coding. 

He’s arrogant, over confident and down right entitled. He’s got more money than sense but he’s also a picture of perfection around his parents so they fail to see any issues with his behavior - and if he does get caught well it’s just his condition. 

Finley is surprisingly lovely to those he considers worth his time and if he cares about someone there is no length he wouldn’t go to for their happiness - especially when it comes to his siblings. 

Finley first came to Holiday Maine when his parents decided that this was where they were going to take their annual ski trip for the Christmas Holidays and he’s been back since college broke out for the summer to be with Addy. The amazing woman he has some how convinced that he is worth dating. 

He has no intention of working whilst he is here, he doesn’t need to and instead he’s going to have himself a whole load of holiday fun. 

There’s a good chance he will end up getting himself in trouble because he needs constant stimulation.

hello everyone! i am riina and i decided to join the group with my dear orla! she’s honestly kind of a combination of a bunch of my old characters & i am so excited to introduce her to all of you! let’s go!

so! orla’s story begins in belfast, northern ireland, where she was born into a loud, larger than life family. she’s the second-born child and one of six siblings. 

she studied software and electronic systems engineering at queen’s university belfast, after which she left her hometown for london. she hasn’t lived in belfast for thirteen years but still considers the city her home. 

received her master’s degree in systems engineering management from university college london! she worked in the city for a few years before a tempting job opportunity - and a pretty massive increase in salary - in palo alto, california made her relocate to the states. 

as it turned out, orla was definitely not made for silicon valley or its culture. in fact, she absolutely detested what her life had become and decided to leave her so-called dream job after three years of misery. the money had been great, yes, but she knew she wouldn’t be able to handle the punishing pace and demands of her job. 

orla arrived to holiday around two years ago without much of a plan. in fact, she figured she wouldn’t stay for very long at all. however, she ended up falling in love with the tiny town and its people and decided to open up her own computer repair shop. 

while somewhat withdrawn and introverted, orla is a very kind, warm person who truly enjoys helping others. she’s the sort of person who will tell her customers to call her whenever they’re having problems, no matter what time of day it is. 

she tends to be fairly straightforward and blunt but rarely means to cause upset. she just doesn’t really understand how others might read her words or tone of voice. 

orla is on the autism spectrum and will fight anyone who tells her she doesn’t look autistic. that’s just gross. 

has a wide, kind of funny taste in music. she’s a big fan of punk and industrial music but would refuse to go on without noughties pop. while she’s definitely a big fan of spotify and other similar services, she also tends to buy way too many CDs. 

she’s bisexual & kind of clueless when it comes to approaching people she fancies.

aj is the second oldest child of the holiday family. she was never good at school and was always a bit insecure about that. what she was good at, was fixing things. she was just handy and so, she decided to stop trying to chance unattainable academic dreams and got herself carpentry and electrician training. then, she loaned some money from her parents - read: a big amount - and bought herself a house, which she flipped with one other person. she continued to do that until three years ago and is now working with a crew of three people as a contractor. it’s a lot more stable and secure, which is necessary as she is now married and adopted two children last year, twin boys named esau and abel. she looks very masculine and one may not expect it, but she is very insecure: her height, her occupation, her likability... she is painfully shy when meeting new people and it can be hard to get through to her, but when you’re in her heart - you can be sure she’ll do all she can for you.

the name mary chace is spoken in hushed tones around holiday. she has always been a troublemaker, ever since she was in middle school. she was picked on and humiliated on a daily basis and on top of that, she couldn’t figure herself out, who she was, which led to her assuming an attitude of “get them before they get me”. what started out as petty crime went to juvenile detention centers and that graduated into prison. she has a whole list of offenses on her criminal record and has been in and out of prison countless times. she has just gotten out after a three-year sentence for theft of property worth less than $10,000 but more than $1,000 and is now a felon. she has come out of prison tired and she finally wants to make something of her life. she is fully clean now, she managed to get a job at joe’s diner and hopes that here in holiday, as painful and as embarrassing as it is to come back after having been in prison, she can finally be a normal person... but it won’t be easy. she has a tendency to go for the bottle when she is feeling low, she isn’t good at controlling her temper and keeping a job has never been her strong suit... the question is, whether or not she’ll be able to stay somewhat on track surrounded by people who know about her past or if she’ll fall off the wagon again.

clarance nolan has lived here since he was fifteen (could change) when his father got a job opportunity here. he met clara dalton and fell in love - immediately. she was the most amazing girl he had ever met and it wasn’t a surprise when they went off to law school together and got married. over the years, they started a law office and had three children -  jonathan (10), benjamin (6), and georgia (4). he was happy with his wife and family, really... but there was always this nagging feeling that he had settled down too quickly, that he was missing out on something. it led him into something he thought he’d never cave to: infidelity. looking back, he knows it’s his curiosity about his sexuality that drove him, as well as a bit of boredom that he felt had crept into their marriage. what he also realizes now is that it wasn’t worth it. yes, he sated curiosities and fantasies but he lost his family. in the divorce, he feels like he also lost his children. one weekend a month and short visits in between are not why he wanted to be a parent and while he understands that clara wanted to divorce him, he doesn’t understand why she had to play it so hard and take his children away from him for such a big chunk of the time. he cheated on her and they divorced, he didn’t divorce his children. he feels like he is barely a parent, but he tries to keep his frustrations in because he doesn’t want his children to be the victim of the tension but it’s there, brewing under the surface.

hey ho, it’s lily (aka addy) back at it again with my second character. here’s a bit about her! hope you love her as much as I do!

mack russell was born on november 13th 1995 in holiday, maine.

her father left the family a few months before she was born and her mother never made any attempts to reconcile so she’s just always had a single mother and her older brother, xander. and she’s totally fine with that, always has been. it’s all she ever needed.

but growing up, xander grew to be a bad influence on her. she nearly got expelled from school when she was in eleventh grade because of it. he’s not around anymore, though, because her mother got sick of it and insisted he move, so he’s been in california for about three years.

it’s taken her a while to get into the swing of things without xander around because she had him in her life for so long, but she’s finally settling down without him now.

she works at the library in holiday because books have always been her refuge. when her mother and her brother used to fight, when her brother would come home drunk, when he got her into trouble. she feels like the library is the only place where she can just stop her mind from going haywire. 

she’s a really easy go lucky person most of the time and she doesn’t have many fears. she just wants to go along with life as it comes and see what it throws her way.

so he was born in london to a middle class family on the rise

and his parents are so.................. normal and straight laced

so much so that he got accepted into a music high school 

he did fantastic and he studied music in college, but to his parent’s dismay

he went into rock and not classical music and with his best friend in tow, they tried to make it big

now, arden realized that they need an album, without a full length one, they really can’t get any bigger 

so it was his idea to pack everyone up and go some place different to write the album

mj brizzi was born marilyn joan holiday, to sarah holiday and fucking rob (he doesn’t get a last name because we hate him) 

that’s right a cousin of the famed holiday brood 

now rob was the worst kind of asshole because he moved a pregnant sarah clear across the country and then left 

expecting and alone in seattle with no money to move back to holiday sarah instead chose to make a life of it, and she did 

mj was loved overwhelmingly by her mother. they never had quite enough money in the house but that didn’t matter to her, despite her circumstances there was no happier family in the world than she and her mom

other kids however weren’t as understanding, the low income latchkey kid of a single mom, a pretty easy target for bullying as it turned out 

from a young age mj learned that nobody listened unless you spoke with your fists so she did 

she spoke with her fists and her swagger all the way up to high school

though it was in middle school when she realized that all the valentines day posters of smiling boyfriends and their coquettish girlfriends made her feel nothing but slight annoyance 

instead it was a girls tinny laugh, or the smell of her dollar store lotion that made mj’s heart run wild 

after a tearful confession they took their first vacation to holiday in years, her aunt anna made her a rainbow cake in celebration of her coming out. that was the last of the happy memories. 

sarah got sick, and quickly, with a minimum wage job and piles of medical bills they were swamped. and at 15 years old what could mj do? 

she took up underground fighting for cash, shady shit in back alleys and anything she could 

but even with the cash it was to no avail. her mother passed within the year and just like that her entire life was gone 

with her absentee father nowhere to be found her only prospect was living with her aunt anna on her ranch in holiday. 

the initial transition was not great

grief ridden and full of teenage angst mj acted out, intense bouts of violence, constantly getting into fights, partying on the weekend, sleeping with random girls 

but after yet another school suspension her aunt tasked her with taking care of a wild horse they’d gotten on the ranch 

slowly but surely mj channeled her aggression into riding and other assorted hobbies (namely kicking her cousin eli’s ass) 

over the course of the years she became someone a little more grown up, still a shameless flirt ready to fall in bed with any girl who was so inclined, but learned how to start controlling her anger and processing her grief 

nowadays she works as a farmhand on her aunt’s ranch waiting out the days until her suspensions from the local riding competitions are lifted. apparently punching a girls teeth in is frowned upon, though mj will swear her reasoning is valid. 

she’s a work in progress, somewhere in between understanding and growing.

her parents divorced when she was really, really young – too young to even remember it. she ended up moving to new york city with her mom. when she was seven, her mom sent her and her brother to live with their dad in holiday.

she’s been there ever since and she happily considers holiday to be her home now, even though she completely adores new york and the hustle and bustle of the city.

her big brother is kind of everything to her because he’s the one person that’s been a constant in her life since everything sort of got knocked around when she was sent to holiday and she took a while to settle in without her mom around. she’d do anything for austin.

was never the brightest crayon in the box when she was at school and considered dropping out when she was in eleventh grade just because she was so done with the trying and failing so often.

after she eventually graduated, though, she turned to the passion she’d found while at high school – photography. she did a lot of nature photography, but in her final year at school also ended up doing a lot of event photography for her friends and other students.

and since that was the only thing she had a true passion for, she stayed with it and turned it into a career by the time she was twenty. she couldn’t imagine herself doing anything else now.

as for her personality, millie is a pretty happy-go-lucky person, but she also tends to not really have a filter so some things she say can seem quite offensive or hurtful even if she doesn’t mean them that way.

she’s a very open person but she’s also a total sweetheart. 

loves flowers and all things pretty and lovely. a total hopeless romantic and looks forward to valentine’s day every year even though she’s never had a proper valentine since high school. loves being around people. will be your biggest hype woman. and generally just a complete and total angel.

i feel like she’s like the movie 27 dresses personified -- like, she takes photos of everyone getting married. but her actually being the one being photographed? pfffft

I. BACKGROUND

where do i fucking begin.

finn’s lived in holiday all his life; he's from a family of born and bred Mainers, identifiable from their thick accents (it’s lobstah, not lobster) and head-to-toe l.l. bean wardrobes

the family business is lobster fishing. finn was on a boat as early as age seven learning how to tie a knot, learning how to balance on a salt-slick deck in turbulent waters, and sitting in on negotiations between his father and his clients

yeah, this was all done under the assumption that finn would wind up taking over the family business alongside his older brother, but things went kinda different the day he sat down at the piano in his middle school auditorium

it kinda snowballed from there. first it was the piano, then the guitar, then garage band and fl studio; finn was making his own beats and tracks as early as high school─ physically in his room, yeah, but his head was in the clouds and his heart was in los angeles

met a couple of musicians through social media and upon graduation, he moved out to l.a. with two other guys with the intention to get signed and make an album

the band was called Arcane Kitty With The Peeling World, then shortened to The Peeling World, then again to Arcane World, and their sound was a mix between the hunna, the midnight, and twin peaks. 

finn was the primary lyricist; while the band as a whole contributed to the creative process, it’d be a reach to say it wasn’t mostly finn writing their shit; it’s obvious by the random horror themes in what was otherwise a love song or a song about los angeles; he ended up producing their EP on his own

eventually they did get signed, put out an album, went on tour, and upon returning to their hometowns for post-tour break, finn was ghosted from the band

they cite his “inability to show up to enough practices” as the primary reason for his dismissal, claiming it “distanced you from us, dude, and our creative vision just isn’t the same anymore, so we’re gonna vibe on our own”

that was in january. finn’s been in holiday ever since, stuck in a depressed fucking slump barely able to write. he’s trying to start writing again and start putting out his own work under a new project (currently unnamed, he’s working on it!), but shit’s hard when you gotta be up at the ass crack of dawn to catch lobster

II. PERSONALITY

passionate. definition ranges from “having, compelled by, or ruled by intense emotion or strong feeling,” to “easily aroused to anger,” and “ a feeling of intense enthusiasm towards or compelling desire for someone or something.” these are all accurate assessments of finn waite. he isn’t a casual person; he goes hard with his feelings, whether that be joy, anguish, desire, or anger. in fact, his emotions are so strong that they’re incredibly easy to read on his face; he’s an open book without wanting to be, and he makes a terrible fucking liar because of it (also a terrible person to play monopoly with because he’ll take it seriously; also a fantastic person to start a book club with because he’ll take it seriously; also an incredible fucking musician because he pours ever ounce of his heart into his work and he takes is very fucking seriously).

ambitious. “the desire to achieve something, or to succeed, accompanied with motivation, determination and an internal drive.” once finn sets his mind to something, it’s hard to talk him out of it. if he wants it enough─ the grade, the skill, the person─ he’ll work for it. it’s why he can play three instruments, why he was able to put out an album, and why he’s determined to build himself back up from nothing. he’s got the drive.

hot-headed. “easily angered : fiery, impetuous.” kind of goes hand in hand with passionate, doesn’t it? he’ll snap at the drop of a hat and, realistically, this is what had started pushing a rift between him and his bandmates. they were fundamentally very different people, but none of them had a temper like finn’s. for added reference: he was briefly on the hockey team in high school, but had to quit because he rarely got play-time since he was consistently getting suspended for fighting.

passive-aggressive. “characterized by a pattern of indirect resistance to the demands or requests of others and an avoidance of direct confrontation.” finn’s not a fucking animal who throws a punch when the wind blows. he’s not even a necessarily violent guy─ hockey was just a violent sport. he swears. but that doesn’t mean that his temper doesn’t come out in other ways, and the most popular form is snark and passive-aggressiveness. which is so fucking annoying.

III. CURRENT STATS.

favorite holiday: halloween. he’s always been into horror and urban legends. he volunteered at the local haunted house every october in high school and went hard with his costumes. his love for the holiday and generally all things spooky, strange, and unusual are found peppered through-out his music. listen to an arcane world track. you’ll see.

profession: musician in limbo/fisherman. nowadays, you’ll likely find him reeking of the sea down at the docks, but he’s not giving up on music. he’s just in a funk over what went down with his bandmates. promise. arcane world didn’t hit it big; they had a smaller, indie following and did a couple of festivals, so he’s not disgraced from the bizz, at least. and he’s got a couple thousand instagram followers curious about his cryptic stories promising something.

accent: it’s coming back. he lost it for a bit there, but the longer he stays in maine, the more his r’s fade out.

project: unnamed. he’s thinking of doing something with holidays because of holiday, or something thematic. maybe halloween themed. who knows.

first off, and this is very important, atlas is a TRANSMALE! he was afab, but he knew as early as 8 years old that he was most definitely a boy, not a girl. s o, at the ripe age of 16, with his parents’ consent, he went on HRT to start his transition! at 20, he got top surgery, and now he’s happier than he’s ever been!

atlas is adopted! he was the product of a mishap between two dumb teenagers, and they immediately decided to give him up. he spent the first two years of his life with a foster family in chicago before he went to the rogers’ at the age of 2, and from there they decided to adopt him. he officially became a roger right around his 3rd birthday!

his family, ofc, is the “newest” to town and he is the manager at the waterpark that they own!

he’s a college student at the local community college, too! he took a couple of gap years right out of high school, so he’s finishing up his associate’s now in english! he hates shakespeare

she was raised mostly by her mother, but also by her step-father, richard, when she was seven – she has no idea who her father is because her mother never told her but it doesn’t bother her now. she and her step-father have never really gotten along.

she has two younger half-brothers from her mother & richard. they’re seven and ten years younger than her and she adores them to pieces.

when she was 23, after trying to go to college to become a teacher and then deciding to drop out, she got a job as a bartender in chicago with help from a friend and that’s how she got into the business of bartending.

when she was 24, she had an affair with the bar manager at the bar she was working at. when his wife found out, he fired her. heartbroken bc she kind of had feelings for him, but mostly bc she lost her job, she packed up her things and decided to get a fresh start in new york!

after a few months in new york, she was really loving bartending again after having a few months trying out different things and finally felt like she was getting into her ~groove~

but just over a year ago, her old manager/affair showed up in new york and told her he’d divorced his wife and wanted to be with her for good. addy essentially got a little scared because she didn’t want that and because everything was finally starting to feel right, but he kept being a dick and pestering her, so she moved to holiday in an attempt to start fresh once more. 

now, one year leter, she’s been happily living in holiday and working as a bartender at holiday brewing. she loves the job so much and she’s grown to love the town too – after living in big cities for her whole life, the change was one that took a little while to get used to but now it’s one she’s really grown to appreciate.

she’s quite mature but she’s also a lot of fun. super friendly, loves being around people most of the time and is always happy to talk with anyone and everyone.

from her affair in chicago, though, she’s still hurt from it all and is a little worried about fully committing to love again because she doesn’t want to end up hurt again. but she’s completely over the feelings for her boss and she wants to move on. but she has pulled her walls down a considerable amount for finley, the most unlikely of sorts but someone she completely and utterly adores (somehow... she still doesn’t quite get how or why)

Gavin was born in Newfoundland. His mother was travelling back to the states & went into early labor during their layover. She died during child birth. Being a single mother, the baby had no father to speak of and was permitted to be placed in an orphanage in the town of his birth.

He was lowkey adopted by the whole town. Especially the town mayor, who had planned on adopting him should he not be able to find a forever home. 

When Gavin was four, he met his future parents through an adoption program. They absolutely fell in love with his whimsical little self. Gavin continued to live in Newfoundland while they sorted out the legal issues surrounding the adoption. Shortly after he turned five, he moved to the USA with his parents. But of course kept his dual citizenship.

Gavin took on their surname. Having never been given a middle name, his parents gave him “Harris” — his birth mother’s surname as a way to honor her.

Gav always had a passion for history -- a fire that was stoked by the town of his birth. There was such age there that he found learning of past events gave him a sort of homely feeling, it soon turned into a full blown obsession.

He went to university to study history & fifteen years ago took up the position of museum curator at the (then derelict) holiday museum.

WOWZER is he extra with the job though. Catch him every day, wearing a new historically accurate outfit. He loves to dress up so much, he says its to “give the museum an authentic feel”.

But he doesn’t JUST dress up for work. He’ll do it literally any time. He deadass wears a nightshirt to bed like its 1834. He’s just like that.

Also holds reenactments twice a month in the park. but they’re always for OBSCURE ASS EVENTS. Because this is about LEARNING not patriotism. they’re basically gigantic town-wide LARPing events.

Every. Single. Year. on his birthday he goes back to Newfoundland, where the whole town greets him. His parents used to travel with him as well -- but have since moved to the town. Its his favourite part of the year hands down.
