I've had a handful of sprouts growing outside (yippee Texas, 70s/80s in January) and brought them in for a few days during our most recent freeze.

Since I had to take them back out anyways I thought I might as well get the biggest ones moved over to their pots. While I was setting up the next lot of seeds I went ahead and added all the extra seeds to these three planters that had my failed tomatoes and last year's basil. I'm growing mostly green beans and peas so I think they'll enjoy the natural climbing opportunity. (ie i couldn't be fucked to spend money on trellises. Nature's trellises will do just fine)

and you know that post where op said gardening made them understand why green was associated with hope? Well this fucking theoretical pomegranate tree is making me have to relearn faith. The insane high pH of my water killed my roses last summer so this thing is getting the flamingo pot this year. theoretically.

#the insane high ph is also why I'm mostly growing beans and peas. Basically nothing actually produced last year bc of it #just me basil and thai peppers. I have the seeds from a few of the peppers sprouting so im Not going to be running low on spice #this year.#8.7ph my beloathed.#When i get my hydroponics set up in the new place im running the pump through a fucking home water softener filter.#its not worth it for just drinking and cooking water but if it means not going broke on veggies im good doing it. Lower water flow #will make it last longer anyways.

i think it’s so funny that a year ago i would drink anything but water and now it’s like one of the only things i drink, idk why my brain decided water doesn’t taste horrible anymore

water is out AGAIN less than an hour after they said they fixed it it has been on for like 2 hours total of the last 48 this haaaaas to be illegal what the fuuuck

#my bowls and brita filter are down to basically nothing so I fucking. guess I will be buying gallons of water at the store .#so I can you know cook brush my teeth wash my hair do the dishes etc in my own home #and also not die of dehydration. Etc #WILL ask that the cost be deducted from my rent cause this is getting absurd #im trying to remain zen about it because I don’t like letting this sort of stuff ruin my mood #but man. it is coming up on a week of this now I just want a hot shower and the ability to make coffee #the water that DID run for about a 30 min window earlier was a lurid deep yellow so. also not drinking that thanks

Thank you very much for this! I have no idea if I have anything large enough to keep eleven fish in for that long, but I'll look around the house. I did search stuff up as well after that last ask and with a water clearing, I'll add in some bacteria solution to help with that. The water's unfortunately opaque still, so catching these guys will be a challenge, if I can do it at all. I'll still give it a shot, at least.

so. adding to the list of "maintenance things nobody tells you about before you have a house" - if you have a well, it's likely you have a filter near the tank where the water comes into your house, and that filter needs its cartridges changed. how often? for a whole house filter, apparently 6 months to a year. how long have we lived in this house without being aware of needing to change the filter?

mmm, about 5 years. do i think the people who lived here for 2 years before us ever changed the filter? absolutely not

so we're at least 5, maybe more like 7 years overdue to change the filter, and today after collecting everything we needed to do it (including a strap wrench because the filter casing was so incredibly fused on - we have very hard water), going through the process exactly like the plumbers on the instructional videos,

we fucking broke it somehow & had to shut the water off. we can't even bypass the filter without a leak. we have no running water & our plumber is apparently in Boston for the weekend!! why did i decide to do this today!!!!

#i have been panicking about this for like a week & it turns out my panic was justified!#but somehow that did not prevent me from making sure the plumber was available before we started #for everyone worrying if our water is rancid because the filter was so old - apparently not! our water has been fine #whatever kind of filter was in there before was real fucking solid i guess #i went and got us a few gallons of water at the store so uhh i guess we're just. living like this for a bit #adventures in owning a home

oh yea in 3 days its gonna be my 1 month anniversary of being in japan???? it literally has barely felt like a weak wtf(<- going thru the horrors)

#def forming some..new alters from this lol #been journalling abt my delusions most of the time just to stay sane(which is what i'd do at home anyway)#i always say shit like 'yea i cant talk to my alters' which im coming to terms with not entirely being true #its just not as much as it used to be. but the more isolated i am the more i notice it #(i was supperrrrr isolated during that og period which is why it got the way it did)#but i think it just comes with getting used to it. its more mixed n blurry when 2 alters are fronting so it makes it less distinct #but there is dialog happening. whether it just be back and forth or a helper coming in to get me thru the night.#'me' being whoevers fronting obv #like. i am in a small room that only fits a bed n a small desk n fridge. the air conditioner kills me stimulation wise. but i need it on.#outside its 29 degrees(hot) at NIGHT but i fight thru it just so i can go on my nightly sanity swings. i cant see the stars.#theres been a cold going around for weeks and i cant do anything about it.#at least the anticipation anxiety for my potential apartment has died down a bit..not entirely but its easier now #idk. even tho i know i'll probably only get the apartment for like 4 months(IF i get it) i have to tell myself its for my benifit #its not a fix all forever home. its a place to finally chill for a bit. to go to the beach. to go on hikes in the forest.#to have a bigger enclosure all to myself #godddd i need to buy a water filter i hate having to go BUY WATER everyday(<- doesnt trust the tap water. per usual.)
