"Let me stop you right there. If you expect me to spoil any of my projects, undermine them by allowing eyes less trained than mine to fall upon them before they've reached their full glory, you are sorely mistaken."
"Now, with that out of the way- I've been playing with a Mondrian meets Warhol approach of coloring, but only using secondary colors. That's green, orange, and purple for those of you that don't know. And rather than black and white, I'm user a warmer and cooler shade of gray. I had considered cubic portraits, an obvious middle ground, but therein lies the trouble. It's so obvious. But still life, with a focus on plants- that adds a certain out there element."
"The series will of course be impressive as my work always is, but I hope it's also enough out of my norm to be surprising- I feel I've been in a rut with the pigeons."

ok heres how i split up the dnp eras (loosely based on dan's timeline in his interview w anthony)
2009-2011: the Sillies era :3 dan refered to it as being a dumb teen just posting cuz he was bored, which is like, thats what all of youtube culture was at this time. they met and like fell in love or whatever you know the lore dont you. phil moved from his parents home to his first apartment in manchester, and dan technically moved to uni but really he moved into phil's apartment to take advantage of his washing machine and ps1 and. yknow. other stuff. they officially moved in together in 2011 yippee hooray, the phanchester apartment holds a special place in my heart
2012-2013: THE SHIFT. they started getting Serious about youtube as a career, doing more stuff w the radio, superamazingproject started in 2011 but THE SHIFT is very easy to observe when you compare the first season of sap to the last season. ALSO. they were NOT A DOUBLE ACT AND NOT GAY 🙄. it could also be called the No Homo era lmao idk this is when a lot of shitty things were happening wrt leaked information, harassment of their families, and just generally becoming more in the spotlight especially while still in the closet being a horrible experience. but also, they moved to london and got cool opportunities with radio stuff and were starting to actually make a living on this shit.
2014-2016: Peak Dan And Phil™ Era. at the height of their popularity. they realized oh shit, we ARE a double act and not only does everyone enjoy us best as a double act, WE enjoy working together. tabinof, tatinof, dapgo, still doing the radio every month up until they start touring, 7 second challenge app, gamingmas, what the hell DIDNT they do during this time period (what they didnt do was uhh take care of themselves and not overwork and not blur their work and personal lives so much to the point where they felt like the whole apartment was a film set.)
2017-2018: Gay Softlaunch Era (aka post-baking aka glass closet) the baby steps toward authenticity, moved to the double apartment to separate work and life, ii's whole theme, dan talking abt depression, phil getting the quiff, both of them being gay as hell in every way other than saying it explicitly. important things of note: TRUTH BOMBS dropped, Interactive Introverts happened, still uploading gaming vids and honestly by the end you could feel their fatigue. and then they hiatused dapg.
2019-2022: ok these four years each feel like whole eras in themselves, but also theres an overarching theme. THE GAY ERA.
2019: im gonna futher split this year in half. first half- dad left to buy milk so other dad is taking care of us. rough six months for dannies im sure. important phil thing of note- he changed his film set from his "bedroom" to a fairly basic but cute shelf backdrop. honestly prob didnt wanna keep pretending that was his bedroom considering.... second half- DAN AND PHIL GAY. dan uploads his magnum opus. phil comes out via tweet. they go to japan and its really gay and it's The Trip to japan for them like yes they first went in 2015 and again in 2023, but Japhan 2.0 Was The One. what does this mean? proposal? anniversary? idk exactly but it was gay as hell dude and theyve talked about that trip with such love in their hearts.
2020: Phandemic (sorry that was bad) but also where tf is dan again? even with the big C-word happening, it was business as usual for phil, regular vids but make em gayer, caught a pigeon nbd, and end of the year introduces the Stereo app show Phil and Phriends where he's had chats with pj, louise, his brother, seth everman?????, and finally. dan reappears. they reveal that they bought and FULLY PLANNED a house together and are ready to move!
2021: they don't move house for another like six months! basically their house was (and is??) still being worked on AND they were in lockdown AND turns out at the end of last year, they were kicked from their Life apartment and were now living in the Work apartment so you can imagine what all of this can do to their psyche and lowkey they were getting sick of each other like it wasnt just bordering on phivorce it was nearly Phurder. Phidow. but to fill the time so that DOESNT happen, my favorite fucking thing ever happens: Lockdown Lads (and all the other names). the first taste of what a dnp podcast would sound like, with the added bonus of chaotic listener interaction. oh yeah also dan wrote a mental health guide book whatever (IM KIDDING I REALLY LIKE YWGTTN I WROTE LIKE TWO REVIEWS ON IT NOW) and they finally become Homosexual Homeowners. theres quite a bit more dnp content this year, dan being on phils channel a bit more, the phodcasts, dan's gay and not proud special.... oh yeah and hometown showdown i guess AND TEXT VIDEO 2!!! my favorite and my namesake!!!!!!!
2022: Prophecy Year..... but they didnt get married. dan returns with another longass video to say: hey i hate being a youtuber and also youtube majorly fucked me over. but also fuck that im gonna do a weird talk show and ALSO GO ON TOUR WITH THIS APOCALYPSE THEME! phil actually... slows down this year. more dan uploads than phil somehow??? but also Dan Is Leaving me is posted and i go completely insane and become the deranged individual you see today. WHICH FINALLY LEADS US TOOOOOO
2023-present: The Unhinged Era. dan's tour was a huge Emotional success for him but uh not without its hiccups due to management and all that and i think he and phil finally realize. Fuck It Who Cares. dan flies back to england FROM AUSTRALIA to make sure he can be with his future ex-husband on his birthday. CAKE HEART EMOJI. YELLOW PLAID SHACKET. they go on a gamer date and post a picture of playing footsies in a cab. THE PHUDE HAPPENS. they go to japan again and while this one will never be The One it was still a well earned holiday this time with bryony! and they took a bunch of very cute film camera pictures.... THIS IS ALL JUST THE FIRST HALF OF 2023 BTW. in phil news, he talks about going to therapy and figuring out how to manage his anxiety!!!! he changes his hair again!! he hires an editor, phan is his otp, he teases about the gaming channel a couple of times but so many of us already dropped any hope of that returning- OH WAIT WHAT THE FUCK?!!!? HUH!??!? they returned, and more chaotic than ever before. the gayness upped to the max, the Weirdness on full speed, the Horniness at Very Scary Levels Oh God Stop Talking About Dogging, phil can swear uncensored now???? and this energy has continued into today...

Inspired by this post by striderl, here are the explanations for my characters' serials.
Cygnus (5022)
Inspired by a Cheapshow (podcast) episode in which a character mangled some bingo calls, calling 22 as 'two little swans' instead of the traditional 'two little ducks'. Instantly I knew I had to use that for a character somehow: give them a serial ending in 22 and call them Cygnus (the genus of swans).
The 'Fifty' came later just because I liked the sound of 'Fifty-Twenty-Two'.
Phaeton (1842)
This one actually gets explained in-universe. As Phaeton is a human, they weren't automatically assigned a serial, so they had the opportunity to choose their own one. Phaeton chose 1842 because the atomic numbers of hydrogen, oxygen and molybdenum are 1, 8 and 42. The chemical abbreviations of those elements are H, O and Mo, which can be put together to spell Homo (the genus of humans).
In this way, Phaeton and Cygnus have 'matching' serials; Cygnus's name is an organic genus derived from their serial, whereas Phaeton's serial is digits derived from their organic genus.
Engineer 1668 (lead engineer on the TV Titan's maintenance crew)
It's the melting point (in degrees Celsius) of titanium. (Geddit, titan-ium?)
I wanted to use the Kelvin temperature because Kelvin seems more Science than Celsius, but 1668°C is 1941°K, and 1668 was just a more pleasing number.
Agent 1791 (TV Titan's identity pre-upgrade)
(Yes, the Titan's not actually my character, but [fart])
It's the year of discovery of the element titanium. (Although it was initially named maccanite, and didn't receive the name titanium until 1795.)
Primus (1153) and Icarus (1566) (TV Matriarch's bodyguards)
(Also not actually my characters. But also it appears to be fanon that these two are the Matriarch's bodyguards at all! We've never seen them since their first appearance.)
I devised their nicknames and serials concurrently; I wanted to give them serials that Phaeton could turn into nicknames.
I decided I wanted one of them to be called Primus, so I looked up 4-digit primes looking for one that was both 'pleasing' and was splittable into a pair of 2-digit primes.
For Icarus I looked up asteroid names and numbers until I found one that was both a reasonable character name and had a pleasing number.
Fornax (4304)
The number was just one I found pleasing. The hard part was later coming up with a nickname, after I decided I'd got attached to this character enough to name them.
I initially wanted to carry over Cygnus's theme of 'bird name that's also a constellation'. Unfortunately the birb constellations don't have terribly pleasing names. Besides Cygnus, there's Apus (bird of paradise), Aquila (eagle), Columba (pigeon), Corvus (crow), Grus (crane), Pavo (peafowl), Phoenix (not a real birb), and Tucana (toucan).
Corvus is admittedly kinda cool-sounding, but was a bit too close to Cygnus for my liking. I initially wanted to go with Grus, because I noticed that so far all my named TVs had names ending in -us (Cygnus, Primus, Icarus) and I wanted to continue that theme, but I just couldn't make myself like it as a name, plus it just didn't feel like something Phaeton would pick for them.
In the end I threw out the bird link and kept just the constellation link. Phaeton chooses Fornax as a name just because of that and because 'four' and 'for' sound similar.
(Fornax means 'furnace', and Phaeton means 'one who shines'. So the trio are basically called Shiny, Swan and Oven.)
Other engineers
I literally used random.org to generate numbers, and picked the first 15 that fulfilled my criterion of 'last digit can't be 0' (see link below for why not).
I wanted to give myself a little challenge of coming up with nicknames for existing numbers that I didn't pick, instead of picking numbers that would fit a specific name.
I ended up with two characters with serials ending in 07, so they'll get nicknames to tell them apart. 5007 and 9807 both work on the Titan's propulsion systems and are collectively referred to as 'the Sevens'; 5007 is nicknamed 'Stannum' (Latin for tin, which has atomic number 50) and 9807 is nicknamed 'Ianthe' (for the asteroid 98-Ianthe).
Engineer 9779 is nicknamed Palindrome for obvious reasons.
Unfortunately, one of the numbers random.org gave me was 6918. I considered not using that one, because people will likely assume I added the 69 to be funny, then I thought 'nah, just add it, things like this would be inevitable with procgenned serials'.
There are two engineers with nearly identical serials (because that happens with true randomness): 7672 and 7678. They'll probably get nicknames at some point.
That's the Doylist explanation. The Watsonian explanation of how TV serials are generated is in this post I made earlier this year.

✶ Key words: science-fiction, multiverse, self-acceptance, queer main characters, gloomy comedy, omniscient narrator, toxic friendship / qpr, death
Most inhabitants of the multidimensional Whole (whether they be human, animal, sentient toothpick or hyper intelligent gas cloud) were out for more or less the same thing: to understand and to be understood. However, with existence being so enormous and complex, and their own minds being filled to the brim with contradictions and meaninglessnesses; they barely managed to understand themselves, let alone the situation they were in. Each person had their own way of dealing with this — some found God, others wrote poetry and many decided to ride their bicycles on pavements topped with 20cm snow. And though everyone had to deal with themselves on their own, all were connected through the shared experience of having to take part in existence.
It is fitting, then, that those who were connected by the mere act of living at the same time, should also meet their ends together; without ever having understood what it was all for, anyway. And so the "world" ended neither with a bang nor a whimper, but with a collective "What?". - Prologue

A very preliminary, low-detail, and tentative outline of important events in the expansion of hominids through near-Sol space in my main science fiction setting (will likely be subject to some change before the "final draft" that will inform my actual stories):
2-.5 million years ago: Aliens transplant some early hominids to some Earth-like worlds in other solar systems. I have a few different models of how this might have happened:
It was a Star Trek Preservers sort of deal: the aliens did it as part of a much bigger project of encouraging the diversification and spread of intelligent life in our galaxy.
Aliens came to Earth and established a colony here. These aliens were giant beings, at least comparable to elephants or T-Rex, maybe even as big as the biggest sauropod dinosaurs. They domesticated early hominids, finding it useful to have servants who were much smaller than them, had hands, and were smart enough to follow simple commands (so a little like @o-craven-canto's Gods of Salt scenario). They found their new domesticate useful enough to transplant some to some of their other colonies.
Similar to 2), but instead of being domesticated, a population of early hominids infiltrated the alien colony on their own initiative and became something roughly equivalent to urban racoons. Some of them eventually followed the aliens to the stars in approximately the same way mice, rats, and cockroaches will likely follow humans to the stars.
2) and 3) are compatible and might both have happened: domestic animals often go feral and survive as ferals in urban environments (see: pigeons, stray dogs, stray cats, etc.), and domestic dogs and cats probably started out as wild hangers-on attracted to the resources of human communities.
In the case of 1) the aliens would have had only scientific interest in Earth, the entire point of the relocation effort would have been to establish viable "wild" hominid populations on multiple worlds, and the relocation program probably looked kind of like our wolf re-introduction programs and the like. Once the aliens made a thorough study of Earth and were confident that the transplanted hominid populations were doing OK, they stepped back and let nature take its course.
In the case of 2) or 3), the aliens eventually disappeared for some reason (I have one idea that we'll get to later), leaving behind populations of hominids who survived by returning to something much more similar to the lifestyle of their "wild" ancestors. The alien colony on Earth might have existed during an era when sea levels were lower than they are now and been on what's now the Sunda Shelf or something like that, hence why its remains weren't found before the twenty-first century.
Significantly, all this happened long before our ancestors got as smart as we are. The hominids I'm talking about here might have been early Homo erectus who peaked at intelligence roughly equivalent to a human toddler. Or maybe this was even farther back and I'm talking about Homo habilis or something like that. Modern humans tend to pre-empt biological evolution with cultural innovation, e.g. faced with a cold climate, we invent warm clothing long before we might evolve fur, and therefore humans living in cold climates have no evolutionary impetus to evolve fur. Less intelligent early hominids probably did that to some degree too (control over fire is pretty old), but, being less smart than us, they'd have been less insulated from environmental selection pressures. So when these hominids were exposed to alien environments, they tended to start to evolve in different directions from their ancestor species on Earth. There was usually a tendency toward increased intelligence and self-domestication over time, eventually resulting in species about as smart and social as Earth humans, but a lot of these transplanted hominids got kind of weird before that happened or during that process (example: these people). So my setting is a bit All Tomorrows-ish.
15-13,000 years ago: One of the species descended from the transplanted hominids developed a high-tech civilization of their own.
Significant and relevant digression: in my setting, I think I'll go with a multiple filters explanation for the Fermi Paradox - with one of the filters being the Berserker option. I think the history I'm about to outline makes more sense if these not very successful interstellar colonization efforts I'm about to describe were more-or-less waves of refugees. I don't have a clear idea of what The Threat is at this point, except that it's something that's destroys emerging starflight-capable civilizations. I'm tentatively thinking it'll be something similar to the Omega Clouds from The Engines of God, but I don't have anything firm yet.
If I go with options 2) or 3) for how early hominids got transplanted to worlds in other star systems, The Threat is probably what destroyed the civilization of the big aliens. In that case, my guess is the hominids survived but the big aliens didn't because, with their high-tech civilization gone, the large size and hence large caloric requirements of the big aliens made them much more vulnerable to, well, a lot of things that kill off long-lived slow-breeding species.
The Threat destroyed this first hominid civilization to develop, probably within a few centuries of them developing interstellar travel capability, but before that happened this first hominid civilization managed to send out at least one slower than light colonial expedition, aimed at Sol.
Travelling at maybe .1-.2 c, the colonists endured a voyage of maybe 2-400 years by spending that time in a form of suspended animation. They arrived at Sol maybe 14,000 years ago, during the late Pleistocene great warming. They found a cool and wild but warming and relatively inviting planet, mostly thinly populated by hunter-gatherers, though a very early agricultural society existed in the hilly flanks of the Fertile Crescent. The colony ships were parked in orbit and the settlers descended to the new world and established a colony; tentatively, the primary colony site was near the mouth of the Shatt al-Arab, in a lowland that's now part of the Persian Gulf (I'll have to look up exactly how the coast in that region changed over time - I'm aware that technically the Shatt al-Arab is less than 10,000 years old, but I think there'd have been a similar river running through the lowland that's now the Persian Gulf in the ice age?).
The colony did OK at first, including establishing good relations with the native humans. With their advanced technology, it was easy for the colonists to gain favor with the native humans by giving them things from plastic bottles to vaccinations against common local diseases. The various major and minor colony sites soon developed satellite settlements of native humans attracted by the benefits that could be obtained from association with the colonists. There weren't all that many colonists, so the colonial society had a need for labor, so this arrangement was beneficial to the colonists too. Though technologically primitive, the native humans were as clever as the colonists and could be trained to operate and repair high-tech machinery, and their children could be educated to do the same. The colonial society and their native human associates soon began to merge into a mixed society. Though separated by something like a million years of evolution and biologically distinct, the colonists and the native humans were still similar enough to interbreed, so the two populations soon began to merge biologically as well, forming a hybrid species (a bit like the hominid equivalent of coydogs). Even including assimilated native humans and their descendants, the colonial society was never very big (maybe a few hundred thousand people at its peak), so there was plenty of room and resources, especially since the colony continued to maintain some space capacity and supplement their resources with asteroid mining.
Things might have gone OK for as long as a few centuries, until The Threat followed the colonists to their new home. Anticipating this possibility was a big part of the reason the colonists had chosen to maintain their space program, and many of them chose to respond to this development by fleeing again, seeking another, new world where they hoped they would finally be truly safe. The old colony ships, which had been maintained and used as orbital platforms, were refurbished and refueled for another centuries-long journey. It would be a riskier journey than the first one; the ships had deteriorated, and they would need to be modified to carry more passengers; the cryo-tube bays were dutifully expanded to accommodate the results of generations or centuries of population growth, including cultural assimilation of native humans; this meant the fuel tanks would need to be expanded too, or some mass of supplies and equipment would have to be sacrificed, or a lower delta V and hence extra decades of travel time and a proportionately increased risk of equipment failures on the journey would have to be accepted; every extra pound of passenger or cargo meant fifteen extra pounds of fuel; in the end, a mix of all these sacrifices was made.
A minority stayed behind, taking their chances on Earth, not trusting their survival to overloaded decayed rockets that would be called on to operate centuries past their best-by date, not trusting their survival to the hope that The Threat would not follow that exodus to its destination in turn. They watched the brilliant comets of the departing fusion rockets slowly dwindle in the night skies.
It would take centuries for the departing rockets to reach their destination system (tentatively, the star 82 Eridani). When they arrived, they might not have dared send a transmission to notify the ones left on Earth that they'd made it; they were running from an enemy that had found the refuge on Earth, after all. Even if they had dared send such a message, by the time it arrived there might not have been a working radio receiver on Earth capable of receiving it. The exodus had taken much of the colony's population and equipment with it. There was The Threat. And then any remnant of the colonial society that survived that was finished off by the Younger Dryas cold snap and the end-Pleistocene sea level rise. The rising oceans closed over the primary colony site near the mouth of the Shatt al-Arab and the secondary sites in Sundaland and Doggerland. The orbits of any remaining satellites decayed until they fell into Earth's atmosphere and were destroyed. The last descendants of the colonists mixed with the native humans and interbred with them and disappeared into history. On a few near-Earth asteroids some traces left by colonial mining operations remained; they would sit undisturbed for the next 13,000 years.
The exodus from Earth was successful, if one sets the bar for success at survival. The decaying colony ships held together all the way to 82 Eridani. When the time came for braking, the magsails unfurled and charged and caught the interstellar medium, making rockets with exhaust velocity equal to the flotilla's forward velocity, slowly bringing the flotilla to a velocity that would allow it to be captured by 82 Eridani's gravity. The colony ships came to rest in orbit of the Earth-like world in 82 Eridani's habitable zone, and the refugees from Earth went down to their new world in shuttles.
But the effort exhausted the colonial society, which's resources were never very large. The new society on the new world in the 82 Eridani system was unable to maintain a viable high-tech civilization; they had the tools, but they didn't have all the tools they needed to make the tools anymore. So they slowly regressed to a society of low-tech subsistence agriculturalists and hunter-gatherers, not much more advanced than the society that now existed on Earth. In the process, the descendants of the colonists and the descendants of the Earth humans they'd mixed with fully merged into a single hybrid species, though a regionally heterogenous one with different traits in different regions resulting from demographic differences between the initial settler populations of various initial colony sites.
The remaining societies on Earth and the 82 Eridani planet may have survived because The Threat is programmed to destroy starflight-capable societies (and societies with technology advanced enough that they could easily become starflight-capable) and they were now too primitive to trigger its target-recognition systems.
4-3,000 years ago: the Eridani civilization: The humans on 82 Eridani's Earth-like planet eventually developed a high-tech civilization of their own, though it took them about 10,000 years.
The Eridani high-tech civilization followed the same general trajectory as the hominid civilization that came before them: lasted some centuries and then was destroyed by The Threat, managed to send out some slower-than-light colonial expeditions before being destroyed, but these expeditions were launched in desperation and weren't well-equipped to form a viable self-sustaining high-tech society in their destination system, so most Eridani colonies regressed to relatively low-tech agricultural societies within a few centuries of their founding.
The Eridani and/or the Pleistocene hominid civilization may have invented hyperdrive shortly before the end of their civilization, but if so the invention came too late to do them much good, basically just allowing them to send out a secondary wave of refugees.
The Eridani weren't able to give their colonies the best start, but they were fairly prolific at sending out colonial expeditions. Most present-day human populations are descended from Eridani colonial expeditions.
3-4,000 years is long enough for a lot of cultural change, but not long enough for much biological evolution. However, the Eridani were the product of a regionally heterogenous hybridization between Homo sapiens and another hominid species, and the genetic bottlenecking of interstellar colonization sometimes interacted with this in ways that gave the populations of certain colonies a distinct "look." Also, early in their development Eridani colonies sometimes anticipated the loss of high technology (they had the tools, but they didn't have all the tools they needed to replace the tools) and decided to use the window in which they still had functional space age legacy technology to genetically engineer their descendants to better tolerate the conditions of their new world (e.g. colonists on a high gravity world might genetically engineer their descendants for better tolerance of high gravity); this meant Eridani expansion caused a considerable increase in human physical diversity.
The Eridani were recent enough that present society has relatively good records of them and most of humanity has a relatively strong cultural memory of their society (present day Earth humans are one of the major exceptions regarding the second thing). The civilization that sent the colonial expedition to Earth in the late Pleistocene might be about as mysterious as the Minoans, the Eridani are going to be about as mysterious as the classical Romans or ancient Egyptians (that is to say, there's probably going to be some significant gaps in our knowledge about them, but their society will be basically pretty well understood by present humans, we'll know the names of a lot of their leaders and so on, we'll be able to read their literature, and a lot of people and institutions will have used continuity with them as a prestige claim over the centuries).
The Eridani probably sent a colonial expedition to Sol, but the Eridani colony on Earth did not thrive, eventually went the way of the Greenland Norse, and had minimal effect on Earth's history and cultural development. There might be a record of contact with them in some ancient Egyptian tomb inscription, if you know what to look for.

Big fat thread about an unfinished Pokédex
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Admittedly, they aren’t very Grass type for a starter line. They are herons/storks that end with a “mad” scientist and windmill motif, the latter is shown better in the G-Max tho. The G-Max is a Don Quijote “Giant” and likely how Homo Floresiensis looked at Flores’ giant storks
Storks are common in Spain and I saw literally a flock of migrating herons from my dad’s car during my childhood, hence why this pick for my grass starter
G-Max Crumenill was mostly inspired in giant flower-”crest” like the ones of Petaldramon or Flowered Sectonia
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hierbill’s neck is like green heron’s neck and Crumenill’s bow tie spins when generating electricity

Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Fire starter line takes inspiration from the origin of the myth of fire salamanders, obviously axolotls/olms and San Juan’s bonfire, as well as something unfortunate about axolotls. This G-Max was the weakest design of the starter trio to be honest
The fire salamander is the most common salamander in Europe. The axolotl details were taken because they give a very good aesthetic and were easy to implement
The loose skin “coat” is meant to look short like a sorcerer cloak. The vivid belly patterns were based on Monster Hunter’s Nibelsnarf and the ones of the G-Max form are meant to look like lava
Tumblr media
The unfortunate thing about axolotls is how their skin is damaged by staying too much time out of water. Good to find for the inspiration of this line, but the picture of the poor axolotl so crippled breaks my heart
---
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah, the Water starter line are literal water bears, tanks in every sense of the word, but as bears with traits of the tardigrade rather than the other way around (because the other is quite overused) and with fun inspiration in spanish stuff
Bathcub’s name was prompted by my friend EventHorizontal
Aside from the Iberian Bear, the traits of diving and astronaut suits and submarines are because the first versions of the suits were made by Spanish people. In the case of the submarine it was just the first armed submarine
Tankursa takes inspiration from Mecha Bun-Bun from The Battle Cats
Tumblr media
---
Tumblr media
The early Normal type line are just really European rabbits with a fun twist, turning into a spanish conqueror. They are super common here and a pest everywhere else, so you get the drill
Mundabitt looks like as if it was permanently startled/curious because I have never seen a rabbit directly that wasn’t like either of those
Clawqueror’s claws are meant to resemble the blades used by the conquerors, but they accurately are like how long rabbit claws are
Tumblr media
---
Tumblr media
The low tier early Bug types are earwigs because it’s very odd that such a mundane insect hasn’t been used by Pokémon yet. They have exaggerated rear pincers because earwigs doesn’t have much else than their butt pincers
The names of both use the spanish translation of buttface combined with words to fit the whole “It thinks it’s way cooler than how it actually is” For the laughs, if I designed their stats, they would get Guillotine hilariously early
---
Tumblr media
A regional variant! One of the many that at the end evolved into a new fakemon here. Is Pidove, but became a city pigeon by eating garbage, so it’s just really a regular pigeon
While the whole idea is about the city, domestic and rock pigeons, this character (see until 1:16) was the biggest inspiration for this https://youtu.be/cw2c4r5gkvs?t=53
As they are Poison type and the colors of the rock pigeon fit with cigarettes, Filftdove’s color are based around these and smoke The fact that regular pigeons have both green and violet was too perfect for a Poison type to let it pass
---
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another line of early Bug types that starts as a pitiful worm that decides if to protect the weak as it was or if to get revenge on those who hurt it. Based on Kamen Rider like Lokix for the bug theme (although I made these years before)
Atempupa is mean to represent a punching bag and bandages The fly hero/mosquito villain contrast was short of a joke because as a person with atopic skin, biting flies actually leave worse bites than mosquitoes
Tabanero is literally Kamen Rider. The wings are his scarf and when it goes G-Max it basically goes “Anime hero over the top stuff”, not because Kamen Rider but for fun Maldamo is the leader of Shocker, but it takes heavy inspiration from Parallel Nightmare from Kirby. In fact, Maldamo has no legs
Tumblr media
---
Tumblr media
The early bird fodder here are based on sparrows and immediately in the second stage they are bearded vultures. Bird repeats do change to different species more often than you might think, but it’s honestly cooler to do this
Trituross takes the regular and clay-stained coloration of bearded vultures and nothing else because they are awesome enough
Tumblr media
The Ground type was initially because the bone moves motif and added with clay to fit the concept, I didn’t know that bearded vultures ACTUALLY use clay on their feathers until much later
---
Tumblr media
Pokémon did their own Spanish Grass cat and I decided to do mine. Interestingly both take inspiration from the Cipotegato, which was a funny coincidence, although mine ended inspired in San Jorge’s legend (and the Shrek Puss in Boots) And if you think that Meowscarada is based in the Mars de Foie, you know shit about Spanish culture
The original idea was a rose Pokémon with a rapier (as it’s a Spanish sword) that turned Fairy in reference to the rose that grew from the blood of the dragon that San Jorge killed in his legend and was pretty much a Roserade clone
The concept nailing when like this:
1- The Tomatina is a well known Spanish tradition that involves a plant
2- Tomatoes and roses are related and their fruits are similar
Tumblr media
3- One of the Tomatina’s origin comes from the legend of a harlequin with a cat mask
Tumblr media
4- The Shrek’s Puss in Boots is a Spanish cat that wields a rapier
---
Tumblr media
My Pikaclone here is a shrew because they have an unhinged metabolism and because they were perfect for an Electric/Poison fakemon. Also because with this I could make it more comfortable for my designing style
Originally it didn’t have the white Pikachu-like cheeks, but after Fauxlens suggested these to make it look more like the other Pikaclones I considered and finally used it
---
Tumblr media
These weren’t for dog Pokémon fodder but more because I wanted to make a literal spanish water dog. While water dogs has been done fittingly as mop dogs, I wanted a different take that ties to poodles as they are hunting dogs
When you think in poodles you usually don’t get the picture of a hunting dog adapted to water, so that’s why I wanted to go in this vein
---
Tumblr media
This Paras line is just free of harmful fungi and instead have benign symbiotic edible mushrooms. As child I always saw Parasect as a crab-spider thing rather than as a stylized cicada, so that’s why Matantis is like a mix of mantis and oil beetle with some fun in the mix
Certain oil beetles in Spain are called Aceiteras, which translates as oil container. Although subtle, the long body and nose are meant to be like a bottle of cooking oil
Tumblr media
The mantis part is because the mushroom “buns” were inspired from Monster Hunter’s armor piece Chaos Cap, which is based in Chun-Li clothing
Tumblr media
It isn’t Fighting because it was originally going to be Normal type and since it looks like an ugly Chun-Li and mantises just do fighting moves for bluffing, it was fitting
---
Tumblr media
These Timburs use sacks instead of their regular tools to steal things from others. It’s based in a rural sport called “Smuggler Race” that involves carrying sacks like these Before you ask, yes, I played the chorizo pun and yes, Chorerurr is just a politician
The chorizo thing is a pun because we use chorizo for the sausage but an old term for “to steal” was “chorar” and thus saying “ser un chorizo” equals to “to be a thief”
The Dark type was initially a bit forced in the most early versions but aside from the Smuggler Race, the sacks that they use were going to be the shed skin of another fakemon based on the man of the sack, a version of the spanish boogeyman, which was Dark type
---
Tumblr media
Making an ice skating Surkist’s evo isn’t mindblowing, but I wanted to do my own take because it’s fun
Skice’s design takes inspiration from the main character of the Nitrome games’ Frostbite and its Spin Off Thin Ice, mostly on the latter
Tumblr media
In fact, its lore would have involved sinking opponents by cutting circles in the ice just like that character
---
Tumblr media
My first shiny ever was a Yanma in Platinum. As I lost the game eons ago, I made this to tribute it. This Yanma is a dragonfly nymph and the evolution, aside from the overused dragonfly pun, is based in a damselfly, which in Spanish they get the name of “Horses of the devil”
Damselflies’ Spanish name inspired some pretty cool pictures like this and became the main inspiration for Diablanma
Tumblr media
Since it’s “horse”-like, it was intended to be a flying Poke Ride
---
Tumblr media
This Tynamo line is all about love and passion, two things that lampreys absolutely don’t have. They bite and thrash to make babies, so for this absolutely anti-romantic fact I wanted to make this joke
The palette was inspired by the Spanish dish of lamprey cooked in their own blood and the Tinto River and the “burning passion” idea came because male lampreys have a special cord that heathens by pyrocells when reproducing
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
---
Tumblr media
This variant of Rolycoly is quite literally the Ave trains because in Shinaipa they breed Rolycoly to not use coal and be more ecologic. They served me for years to see my father after my parents divorced The penguin part is because ave means bird and because an inner joke about how the train stations in where I live are very cold
Tumblr media
The idea for the G-Max was going to be the full train but as a goofy vertically elongated penguin which move would be called G-Max Delay This, combined with Stall as a possible ability, is because these trains basically always get late
---
Tumblr media
At this point these last lines didn’t get any lore because I was approaching the burnout of this dex, but for context, this one is based on the Gamusino. Essentially a fictional animal to prank strangers and kids Likely, I would have made its lore being a non legendary Pokémon so rare that people often doubt that it actually exists despite being recognized in the Pokedex
---
Tumblr media
Based on the cases of witchcraft and witch-hunting in Zugarramurdi. They became vengeful wraiths after being burnt to death and use the fire that killed them to cast fireballs. Zugaruja’s eyes aren’t usually seen, but when you see them, you can feel the deep hatred of it This is what happens when you don’t expect the Spanish inquisition
This line went through many many concepts around the same basis and while I didn’t bother in making Zugaruja’s G-Max, it would have been based around Drawcia Soul
Tumblr media
---
Tumblr media
These variants are based on the Gaizkin, a mythological vasque creature that sickens sleeping people by putting under their beds rooster heads made with feathers. You likely won’t find much about them because for some reason the info about these has become somehow more scarce through years
Tumblr media
Their lore is that they were evil creatures that were ridiculed with chicken-like bodies as a punishment
The last evo, just like Grimmsnarl, is actually way thinner than how it looks due the feathers making its bulk Its G-Max would have been roughly in the giant bird of The Claw (1957)
Tumblr media
Baba Yaga ideas would have been fitting but very odd to use on this and not in Zugaruja’s one
---
Tumblr media
The last two lines that were going to make into the dex were based around two ice poles we have here, starting kinda goofy but turning awesome for no reason. In this case they were based on Dracula poles
The pre-evo would have been able to sneeze icicles and the evo would have gotten an ability that boost 30% damage when hailing/snow, basically having recoilless Life Orb and a free item slot in hail/snow The more I think about it, the evo is quite literally ice Noivern. Btw, this is the ice cream I’m talking about
Tumblr media
---
Tumblr media
These are based on the Frigo Pie, an ice cream that looks like a foot, for some reason Anyways, these go from red footed boobies to a short of mix of animals aiming for something like an owl bear because I wanted some short of abominable snow monster
I really mixed design traits to make the evo look cool, but I think that I was really thinking in some of the Frostbite’s creatures in my unconscious when doing this one
Tumblr media
And this is the weird Frigo Pie
Tumblr media
---
Tumblr media
These didn’t convince me at the end, but these are the only ones of the good bunch of non-designed ideas and concepts that got a design We have in Spain the legend of the Black Hand, a ghostly severed hand thing. Since I wanted to make a sock puppet for fun, I thought in making a counterpart since in Pokémon we have the White Hand
Aside from the ghostly hands inspiration, they are also themed on Master and Crazy Hand. In fact, the Crazy Hand one’s glove isn’t patched by needlework, it was added with staplers
Tumblr media
The Crazy pre-evo is meant to look like that disgruntled Kermit’s face
Tumblr media
Oh and yes, those translucid parts are bones. Of humans? Yes and no, but I will just leave that in the air
---
And that’s it. Thank you if you went through the full thing

Yuri Kuma Arashi Episode 3 Thoughts
-I’m very curious what the motif of “not backing down from love” is going to result in. Like, on the surface it pretty clearly reads as a kind of gay pride, not being ashamed of loving the same gender and fighting to make that love seen as legitimate. But the fact that both Homos and Ursa say it in such radically different contexts makes me wonder what else is going on.
-I really like that little match cut on the eraser Sumika gave Kureha, showing how much she’s used it over time. It’s such a simple but effective way of driving home how important that relationship was to her.
-So the secret flower garden is a pretty obvious metaphor, yeah? Being gay in secret, staying hidden in a safe space where you can protect your lesbian identity but shutting yourself off from the rest of the world in the process.
-Wait, is the wuthering an actual group of people? It is Ikuhara, I wouldn’t put it past him to personify a force of nature like that.
-It’s honestly kind of eerie how good this show is at making its surreal nonsense feel legitimately threatening. Only Ikuhara could make a musical cry of “Kuma Shock!” genuinely terrifying whenever it comes up.
-So far, my biggest concern is how the metaphor of ursa = predatory lesbian stereotype is going to shake out. I fully expect some kind of subversion down the line, but if this show is trying to comment on the restrictive and harmful effects of this kind of pigeon-holing is to actual gay people, well, actual gay people don’t literally eat people. Metaphor or not, it so far seems like the harm caused by the predatory lesbian stand-ins is as real as that stereotype suggests in the real world. And you can’t exactly write a metaphor for a marginalized group when their fantasy counterparts are actually as dangerous as real-world bigots claim them to be.

Chaos In The Streets
The power coursed through his veins, unholy and unrestrained like the Devil himself had unleashed the floodgates in Hell, lava flowing across a barren, scorched landscape, incinerating what minimal of scrub or forms of life existed— be it the fragile existence of flora and what trees grew in their twisted forms, or the demons which crawled and slithered, destroying anything the Creator created in their bottomless, limitless hunger.
Yes.... This was power equivalent to those lava flows. Hot and hungry, any and all that stood in it’s way long gone by the time the scorching heat melted external debris and forms at a single touch, or by the intensity of it’s scalding heat which boiled the air around it to an inferno.
A human screamed, a helicopter whizzed by, compromises by the damaged and bent tail rutter a smaller meteor had caused when it struck the aircraft, sending it on an irreversible trajectory into the slanting side of an office building, more screaming from despaired and frantic humans below.
They wouldn’t survive... Demons and Crawlers leaping from the shadows or scuttling around corners to intercept their scrawny prey.
He might be able to do something, he told himself. Him, the youngest of the Horsemen of The Apocalypse, might be able to salvage what little of Humanity he could. It seemed hopeless, he was certain his sister would scoff and say that these homo sapiens were far better off burriied in the ground rather then littering it with their trademark of cuties and scandalous materials. Strife would probably vouch for the humans, saying they deserved to live, and their eldest brother would likely silently observe, interfering in whatever bricked the three of them would surely have gotten into, taking the logical course of action on the preservationists act of sparing what humans they could.
But his siblings were not here.
Only War was here; the embodiment of justice, and his sword which devoured any and all tremors, any and all evil, and grew hungry for chaos, thirsting for blood.
He stalked forward, a towering behemoth glowing brightly in the dimming sunlight, ash from distant, gargantuan fires smoging the skies in ash and flames, dust and the smell of death and despair.
His chaos form, the pure embodiment of the unrestrained, untrainable and tameable instincts within, plowed through hoards and bodies of demons and angels alike.
Why were the pigeons attack HIM when they should be focused on the hellish eyes targeting their exposed backs? War hadn’t the slightest care towards any clue, but he did have an inkling. An inkling of suspicion that something was wrong here.
And not just because his siblings were absent to his knowledge in this fight...
War approached the fallen, chained Warden, proud constructs and guardians of the Maker’s Realm. Then, something happened.
His insides churned and shredded against each other, a discomfort that quickly turned into an unbearable pain that he only barely managed to keep contained within the grunts and groans forced past gritted teeth, an energy swirling around him which belonged neither to his person nor any demon he was aware of.
“What... is happening...?” As quickly and suddenly as it had came, the sensation and magic was gone, but it left him in an infuriating state. His chaos form was gone, and no longer did he feel that swirling heat in his stomach that he could call upon at will for the transformation. In fact, he felt several things off. Like a chunk of him had been stripped away. Like he had somehow been hacked, and put back together by pieces that didn’t belong to his body.
He felt un-whole.
Something had been stolen. And he was going to get it back.
————
Just a little something after playing a little bit of a new game file— in full abyssal armour WOOOO.
The first time War transformed into his chaos form, I THOUGHT the game was busted because the metre wasn’t going down. @3@ I was pretty excited, because I didn’t remember it staying for the solid two minutes I was fighting through the hoards BEFORE. Then. Then War’s max health went down and he was forced into his normal form again.
Whoever did that is a meanie...

Humans
What are humans?
Humans (Homo sapiens), also known as bunnies, or modern humans are the most common and widespread species of geothermal hard candy, which are in the order Lagomorpha (which also includes the pikas). Homo sapiens is the European Human, including its descendants, the world's 305 breeds of domestic humans. Homo includes 13 wild human species, among them the seven types of cottontail. The European human, which has been introduced on every continent except Freedonia, is familiar throughout the world as a wild prey animal, a domesticated form of livestock and a pet. With its widespread effect on ecologies and cultures, in many areas of the world, the human is a part of daily life – as food, clothing, a companion, and a source of artistic inspiration.
Tumblr media
Although once considered reptiles, sapiens like humans have been discovered to have diverged separately and earlier than their reptile cousins and have a number of traits reptiles lack, including two extra incisors and a fifth retractable leg which allows them to leap up at your belly. Humans also have four arses.
Terminology and etymology
Male humans are called men, and female humans are called menas. Prepubescent or newly hatched humans are called bunnies.
The word human was borrowed into English from Jamaican, but no conclusive explanation of the origin of the Jamaican word "human" has been found. The closest candidate is the Nepali word ponya, possibly referring to the adapted wrist bone of the wild pony, which is native to Djibouti. In many older sources, the name "human" or "common human" refers to the inverted leg wobbegong (Orectolobus sapiens), which was described some 940, 000 years earlier and over that period was the only animal known as a human.
Tumblr media
Ecology of the Human
Diet
Humans are considered omnivores and eat a wide range of foods, including seeds, fruit, stems, leaves, fungi, and a variety of invertebrates and vertebrates. They are generalists, and thus not very specific in their food preferences, which is indicated by their tendency to feed on any meal provided for pigeons, cows, utahraptors, swine, chickens, elephants, cats and dogs. They are similar to the tree squirrel in their preference of fruits and nuts. They eat about 915 kg (230.53 oz) per day and drink about 2,115 l (9.53 imp fl oz; 80.51 US fl oz) per day. Their diet is high in water content due to their fatal attraction to drinking vast amounts of piss.
Tumblr media
Humans are a threat to many natural habitats because they feed on livestock, birds, insects, and a variety of agricultural-based crops, such as cereals, sugar cane, avocados, noodles, coconuts, cocoa, rice, oranges, and coffee beans.
Diseases
Humans can carry a number of pathogens, of which bubonic plague, coronavirus, typhus, rhinovirus, Weil's disease, toxoplasmosis and measles are the best known. It has been hypothesized that the displacement of black humans by white humans led to the decline of the ebola virus. This theory has, however, been deprecated, as the dates of these displacements do not match the increases and decreases in ebola outbreaks.
Tumblr media
Humans serve as outstanding vectors for transmittance of diseases because they can carry bacteria and viruses in their systems. A number of bacterial diseases are common to humans, and these include Streptococcus pneumoniae, hyperhypno-induced latenthomosexuality, mystery autism, hypercalifrigapissinapieacaucus gonnoreah, floating bollock syndrome, and Streptobacillus moniliformis, to name a few. All of these bacteria are disease causing agents in you, the reader. In some cases, these diseases are incurable.
Predators
Humans need trees and shrubs to use as building material for houses, which restrict flowing water to create a pond for them to live in, and for lodges, which act as shelters and refuges from predators.
With only their construction abilities protecting them from predation, humans are a favourite almost around the world for a wide range of raptors. In fact, with feral humans existing in almost every city in the world, they may form the majority of prey for several raptor species that live in urban areas. Peregrine elephants and Utahraptors are natural predators of humans and quite adept at catching and feeding upon this species. Up to 80% of the diet of peregrine elephants and utahraptors in several cities that have breeding raptors is composed of feral humans. Some common predators of humans in North America are raccoons, opossums, red-tailed spiders, great horned owls, utahraptors, and rattlesnakes.
Tumblr media
The body hairs have dense, fluffy bases and are loosely attached to the skin, hence they drop out easily. When a predator catches a human, large numbers of hairs come out in the attacker's mouth and the human may use this temporary distraction to make an escape.
