when I was a kid for some reason I thought Lola Bunny's last name was "Rabbit" and that she was actually Jessica and Roger's daughter. And the reason she wasn't in the original Loony Tunes is just that she wasn't born yet
I mean can you blame me. Look them and look at her. She's got a good blend of both of their features.
This guy goes on to say that its different for a male child vs female child and for different sensitivity levels within the child. So no parent/household dynamic is the same for any child.
And I full heartedly agree. I am the youngest middle daughter (third born of four). When it came to achievements or academic success, I always have felt like I have to try especially hard to be perfect.
Because my brothers who had learning disabilities were told with academics "as long as you try, you're succeeding." But I remember my sister and I got told "you got a B? Did you even bother with the assignment?" I remember getting into National Honor Society, and my parents left after the ceremony. But when my brothers got into show choir, they took them to get ice cream.
Or when my brother told my mom that for only few weeks, some boys were picking on him for his walmart sneakers not being a big brand name. My mom offered to buy him new sneakers. But the bullies got over it and became friends with my brother. While I begged my mom from 6th-12th grade to homeschool me or let me switch schools because I was getting bullied so badly. But my mom told me "thats just girls being girls." And when I acted out at home my dad would give me speeches on behavior and not ask me what was going on like he did with my brother. (FYI this brother and I are known to be the most sensitive siblings. But were not addressed the same when it came to bullies).
So I 100% believe parents show up different for each child, and the child's sensitivities play into it too.
I think parents need to actively work at asking some important questions:
whats going on? - DO NOT ASSUME A CHILD'S BEHAVIOR CHANGE IS ONLY BASED ON WHAT YOU SEE IN FRONT OF YOU.
What are you feeling? - ASK THE CHILD TO SHARE HIS/HER FEELINGS - DO NOT ASSUME
How can i help? - is this something that needs a solution, opinions, or support
When children share something with an adult, they are doing it for a purpose. Do not break that trust by disregarding that. - wanting to share joy, or needing help/comfort.
Ive been thinking about this trend but instead of metaphorical items and junk its just me attempting diff artstyles

People talk about how “overpowered” and freaky some of the physical feats in PJO and HOO are but I think people forget that all demigods inherently have enhanced, speed, agility, and strength. So at lot of these physical feats actually make a lot of sense in their “power scaling.”
And I know a lot of people like talk about the Lois Arc jump because that is insane but there are a lot of other feats that show off the enhanced attributes some of the other demigods have.
Like, Hazel ran after a Arion, the fastest horse alive for a WHOLE day. Hours upon hours on end. And even if Arion WASN’T the fastest horse he’s still. A horse. That Hazel was able to keep up with. And then run all the way home.
Reyna EASILY knocks away giant werewolves with a knife and used her javelin like a pole vault. Annabeth managed to fight Kronos, a whole ass Titan, to a standstill. And she’s been shown to perform moves only professional acrobatic and gymnast can do. Piper threw a fifty pound shield at Medea and was described to move fast as a viper.
Jason had dodged arrows that have appeared out of no where, no warning, and Percy has side stepped bullets. BULLETS.
Not to mention that with the Lycaon and werewolves they were all out running and keeping up with WOLVES.
Why do this??? Why show us that Dean wanted out?? That Dean thought about quitting hunting. Retiring. That Dean wanted to LIVE. When you intended from the get go to impale him on a rusty rebar. Because "it was always gonna end like this." Because "it was supposed to end like this, right?" Because Dean „HAD TO DIE?????” What do you mean Dean would never stop hunting when you’ve literally showed us he wanted to???? What do you mean Dean wanted to die hunting when he literally said he DIDN'T??
Based on this post from the one who never misses @yesokayiknow about the Doctor's swinging relationship with uhhhh expressing their emotions and how reeeeeeally emotionally healthy they are
Amatonormativity has destroyed so many people's understanding and acceptance of themselves, and it's heartbreaking.
Yes, it is normal to be in your 20s, 30s, or older and not have lost your virginity, had a first kiss, or a partner. It is normal to say that you aren't ready for those things, too! It is normal if your life doesn't follow the "college graduate -> engagement -> buying a home -> 2.5 kids and a dog" trajectory that so many people have idealized.
So many people associate maturity with losing your virginity, or having a first kiss, or a serious relationship, and I think that's a dangerous association. Maturity isn't gained through those things, and you don't have to have those experiences to be considered "mature" or "grown." It is not a bad thing to go at your pace. Nobody else can live your life but you. If you end up having those experiences, that's great! But it should be done because you want to experience them, not because you feel "broken" and "immature" without them.

Something I find amazing about Dungeon Meshi is how much "restraint" Ryoko Kui shows when telling this story. It's so clearly crafted to be the best story it can be.
By that I mean how she had SO MUCH world building for this story but still kept it as contained as it needed to be, it's a story about a few characters inside one dungeon, even if the world is expansive the story isn't. And even with the amount of characters she clearly loves so much she never got side tracked as I see so many other mangas get. The world is alive, other people exist fully with their own lives, but it stays true to the story that's being told in this universe.
I think it really shines through with how the world building relevant to the story is slowly shown to us in a non expository way, that's also something I see a lot, especially in movies, just stopping everything on it's tracks so they can info dump about the world to you, but in dungeon meshi its all so organic... magic is explained because some characters are ignorant, cultural differences are shown through cultural clashes, world history is implied through relevant conversation (monster facts are info-dumped to us but even that is in character) it's all really good and I don't think I could have gotten this into it if everything was just laid out in front of me right away.
This is all to say I'm glad we have the adventurer's bible and all this extra content that didn't fit into the story but I'm glad they weren't forced into it in detriment to the storytelling.
