Aventurine engages in lighthearted bets with his S/O. To be his S/O, not his lover or partner, he has to trust you. To feel worthwhile and human around you. You bet on who has to cook, who pays for the date, who has to do laundry, ect.

He lets you win sometimes, because he enjoys being cared for. He likes knowing you aren't there for his money or anything superficial. You are a team, and that means taking care of one another.

Hesitantly, before a dangerous mission, you bring him a bet. A wager with his life, his well being on this mission, as the prize.

Because Aventurine is a man of his word, and that seems to be the only way he sees value in himself.

And when you win, he has to come home to you. Alive.

And maybe someday you won't have to make these bets to ensure your reunion isn't in a hospital room, but for now he'll just have to let you win a little more often because even when you win he doesn't lose.
