Wow it’s been a few years since I’ve been on tumblr.

An update on the Evo -

Has been FBO E85 for a few years now, although have upgraded the turbo, intercooler system, got it cammed while deleting MIVEC, and a handful of other smaller scale upgrades (laundry list). Of course the new SSR MS3 Professor’s which I’ve been eyeing for a good while, and last minute found a custom metallic blue I couldn’t resist coating the faces with. Wrapped in Yokohama Advan Apex V601’s.

To pair with the new SSR’s, I also got the Brembo’s repainted a custom highlighter with silver metal flake. Pretty happy with the outcome! Thanks to Evo Dynamics and BSP Motorsports.

Honestly a bit hard to capture the highlighter color properly on the Brembo’s, especially with the flake. One of the best ways to see it is through a video (provided on my IG highlights @ theaustinhines)

an introduction

welcome to my new blog. my hope for now is that i will find some time at least once a week, to just write. anything that's on my mind, life, music, cars, put something down and be passionate about it. no more excuses for putting off my dreams, just do something. and this is that thing.

a lot of the time i will be posting about cars. i am a massive fan of formula 1, and will be talking about the races, the technology, and the drama of the sport. if you don't know anything about it, you are my target audience for how i will write. i want to see people with passing interest having resources to learn the basics, and find passion for the nuance, or just teach them a new thing that they move on with.

i also own a 1987 mazda rx7 gxl project car, that i've been progressively restoring over the past couple years. it's a roughed up and well driven machine, 273k miles before my ownership, and i have been dailying it after i had the engine rebuilt. progress has been slow, life's struggles like to get in the way. i'm gonna push myself to get more done, so i can post about it here.

but who am i? i'm zachary. there's isn't much to it. i don't try to put labels on my identity, because those divided boxed tend to hold you back from expressing yourself to your truest. and who is my truest? i'm still finding that out every day. always thinking, always learning. recently i've been learning more about being a mechanic. i want to be able to spend more time fixing and maintaining my car myself, as one day i desire to be a machinist/fabricator. buy classic cars and use those skills and tools to restore these pieces of art to their original vision, and be enhanced with my own modern vision for it.

in regard to being my truest self, lately i've had some sort of spiritual awakening. if there's any truth to enlightenment, i may have found it. i've always disagreed with religion conceptually, but i still had a feeling that there was something beyond that powers us, and i've really connected to the spirit of nature. it's a level of faith as strong as a devout churchgoer. it's a belief in the spiritual energy that nature provides us so we can shape this world, and connects us as humanity. it's a feeling that perpetually evolves in myself as i understand life more. staying static in your mentality is limiting. if you can open your mind to your desire and passion, and express that comfortably, you will find peace through the heartaches of life. you will find hope. that's what i've found.

now that my inner hippie has scared off the losers, it's just us cool people. hungry minds with open eyes. if you find any desire to learn more about someone's passion for car design and motorsports, give me a follow and sometime soon i'll write some more posts. this stuff will be interjected with other philosophical, or spiritual posts. just kinda whatever i'm feeling.

i am also open to asks, if anyone is curious about anything i've talked about, especially if you'd like me to explain any advanced formula 1 technology and concepts
