I don't know how I'd ever convey this in art but. Thinking very deeply about how in boy king au, a very crucial part of characterization is that Seb is a wolf in sheep(or lamb more specifically)'s clothing and Fernando is a sheep in wolf's clothing.
Seb is very unassuming, very delicate, seemingly very vulnerable and malleable. But, deep down, he can be very ruthless. It's in the the way he hesitantly declares war, with a spark in his eye and a suppressed smirk. In the way he challenges someone to a card game or a horse race, proclaiming that he's not great, but winning every round and prancing around the room and mentioning it ad infinitum. The way he's able to instantly turn the tide in a debate in one fell swoop. By showing all his cards constantly and letting himself be vulnerable, he's making himself invulnerable. No one would ever consider him to be able to make big moves, so he wins every single time, because no one even thinks to expect it from him.
Fernando on the other hand, is constantly committed to having a looming presence and harsh reputation, but deep down, he's soft. He knows what happens to people when they're vulnerable, and he's not going to let himself be taken advantage of. The way he keeps a brave face when being informed of the marriage proposal, but goes back to his room and cries. The way he proclaims that he was always going to be the rightful ruler of Spain, but confides to Flavio that he never thought there was any real chance of it ever happening. The way he takes himself so seriously in public, but inside feels so giddy whenever he can make someone laugh. Everything to him always feels unstable and ready to crumble at any moment, and he's not willing to contribute to that by letting himself relax.
I think thats why it's very difficult for them to get along at first, because they have completely different approaches to how they carry themselves and make their way through life. Seb is confused at Fernando because he feels that he's very bland and overly serious at first, but truthfully he's not really seeing the actual Fernando. And Fernando finds Seb to be naive and easily taken advantage of, but that's because he's never seen Seb at his most cruel. Seb really loves when he eventually gets to see Fernando being vulnerable, and Fernando really admires and respects Seb when he sees him being serious. I think it just takes a while for them to show the other their full and complete selves, even the parts they can sometimes be ashamed of. There's this very compelling dichotomy in Seb laying out all his cards, but still being very difficult to read, and Fernando keeping his cards to his chest, but his intentions often being easily seen through.

Lol I look forward to the unintentional psychological damage your SIkuna is constantly giving everyone (except Yuuji)
Same tbh, it's being a difficult Part to write but I'm looking forward to it being finished as well (both to be able to finally post, and to reread it in its finished format for them Serotonins heh) 😂
And yeah lmao once again SIkuna's rolling basically only Nat 20s on random Intimidation checks all the time, whilst trying to just be spooky Enough - yet still as cooperative as he can afford to seem without coming off as completely OOC/unbelievable
(that Sukuna Filter and all-too-natural sinister-looking mannerisms are definitely working against him lol) 😂
As for Yuji, he isn't gonna be totally stress-free here, for one he's most definitely not going to be happy about the whole 'Ijichi got a bit freaking mauled' situation amongst other things
- but by the end of this 'Arc'
(Part 8/end of the Detention Center Confrontation + a short Part 9)
he'll be starting to properly wonder if Sukuna is either not as evil as everyone thinks he is (and he himself plays himself off as, though he's definitely not 100% good either) or at the very least if he doesn't have some sort of... Soft spot for him and his friends??
A Thought which, by the end of the VS Mahito Arc Junpei Doesn't Fucking Die Arc, becomes an almost certainty in his mind due to a few things
- then 'sunshine child'/Part 2 happens
(and all that follows it on the timeline lol)
(Can't wait 'till I get to Nanami's reaction towards that whole thing lmfao
- the poor guy's gonna get hypertension at 28 because of this kid and his 'if evil then why friend-shaped' attitude towards the freaking King of Curses 😂)

i think i used to think about talking to cis people about trans stuff was kind of mid before i actually talked about it (ie like those memes where they’re like having a pic of kindergardeners and the caption that says talking to cis people about gender and the other image is like a person’s mind kind of meditating and exploding and the caption is when ur talking to trans people about gender) but fwiw like the last few days like i think there’s a v real point to talk about it if you feel safe about it
like i think it’s just nice to know that your friends can relate to ur experiences even when they’re sometimes conflated as just a trans thing, and i think the alienation of like keeping it in and being like oh people can’t relate is just not good for u, you know? it’s nice to know people have ur back and things esp when u feel stuck in the mud so often it’s nice to have someone who’s v much like no you have the right to be yourself, it just matters if you feel right. in some ways since i think they’ve been more comfortable with themselves they’ve show me how comfortable i should be as well since they have that baseline confidence in themselves within their gender at least
