The sun had barely risen over Areswood, its golden hues taking its time enveloping the sky, but Muzan and Douma were already up and busy at Obelisk Kibutsuji, going over their next course of action for their campaigns for the next few months.
Muzan stood at the center of his spacious office. A large map of Phario's electoral districts sprawled across the narra table in front of him, dotted with colorful pins representing key areas of support.
Douma, on the other hand, leaned over the map, his eyes narrowing as he assessed their next move.
"We need to double down our efforts in the southern districts," Douma said, twirling his fan languidly. "The latest polls show we're losing ground there, but it is the opposition's home turf, so I'm not surprised," he added with a hint of mirth.
Muzan nodded, rubbing his temple as he processed the information. He'd been up since dawn, reviewing speeches and strategies. The weight of the campaign was beginning to show in the faint lines on his face and the dark circles under his ruby eyes.
Unlike Douma, Muzan couldn't afford to make light of the situation. Keeping a straight and serious face, he continued to rack his brain for strategies. After a few minutes, Muzan finally spoke, catching everyone's attention.
"Let's schedule a town hall meeting in Azudellin. We need to connect with the voters there and show them we're listening to their concerns."
"Today?" Douma asked.
"Yes, why? Do we have other agendas for today?"
Douma quickly checked his calendar on his phone.
"We have an interview with the Areswood Times in an hour, then a fundraiser lunch at noon, followed by debate prep, and a gala dinner with key donors tonight."
Muzan sighed, his frustration evident in his voice. "We can't afford to delay this. Azudellin is slipping away from us."
Douma, feeling a bit depleted himself, shrugged. "The earliest we can fit it in is next week. It might be too late by then, but who knows? Maybe a miracle will happen."
In the midst of a very important meeting, a knock separated everyone from their own thoughts. One of Muzan's executive assistants, Nakime, walked in with a stack of freshly printed leaflets, oblivious to the tension in the room.
"Sir Kibutsuji, Sir Hashibira, these just came in. The design team finalized the new posters and pamphlets for the campaign trail."
Muzan barely glanced at the leaflets, his mind racing.
"Thank you; just leave them on the table."
Nakime quickly left after obeying his orders, clearly sensing the gravity of the moment.
With mindless eyes, Muzan continued to rack his brain for any backup plan or anything that could be of significant help to the predicament they currently have. Letting out a resigned sigh, Muzan finally opened his eyes and turned to everyone.
"We'll have to make do with what we have," he said, turning to Douma, who's listening intently. "At our interview with Areswood Times today, maybe we could give Azudellin a special shout-out—say something that can please their ears. This is your specialty, so I leave this to you."
Douma nodded, a peculiar smile present on his face. "I'll handle it. I'll make sure our message is loud and clear in the interview today."
Muzan merely nodded at his running mate before turning to the rest of his party.
"Let's deploy a few of you to Azudellin today; get some boots on the ground. We'll organize smaller meet-and-greets throughout the week to keep our presence felt until we can hold the town hall altogether. Take this chance to highlight your own platforms and campaigns as well, but don't oversell yourselves and turn off the locals. Understand? We can't afford any missteps."
A chorus of 'yes, sir.' and 'understood' rang in the room after listening to Muzan's orders. As usual, his commanding voice and his overall demeanor exuded charisma and extreme strictness, which made everybody in the room yield to him so easily.
Muzan scanned the room, making sure everyone's conviction matched his own. Technically, his party has been dominating almost all polls across the entire country, and it's safe to say that he is the number one candidate to win the elections, but he didn't want to remain complacent.
He doesn't want to attribute his victories to silly things like fate or destiny. He did that before and miserably paid the price; after learning his lesson, he vowed to never rely on foolish things ever again and will do everything in his power to ensure his indisputable victory.
Taking a deep breath, Muzan felt assured again.
"Alright. This meeting is adjourned. Thank you, everyone."
*
"Oh, really? That's good to hear, darling. I'm happy for you," Muzan said softly, followed by a fond chuckle as you continued to share what happened during your hair appointment.
You were at the salon, enjoying your usual 'pamper time.' While you were getting your hair done, an A-list celebrity approached you. Initially, she only intended to have a small chat, as you are technically an A-list celebrity yourself. However, as your conversation continued, Ume confided in you that she recently got engaged but hasn't announced it to the public yet.
She personally requested you to be her wedding planner, and of course, you gladly accepted.
"Ahh! I'm so excited. I'm still preoccupied with Ms. Rivera's wedding, but so many ideas for Ms. Ume's wedding are already flooding my mind," you told your husband gleefully.
Muzan chuckled again, his eyes turning into crescent moons as a smile spread across his face, a total contrast to the serious expressions he had earlier.
Muzan prided himself on being level headed even in the most dire situations, but all that bravado would always melt away whenever he was with you. He couldn't help it. Your energy has always been contagious, and when it came to you, he was nothing but a man hopelessly in love with his wife.
Douma, seated in the backseat with Muzan, looked at his running mate with pure intrigue, watching him transform into a lovesick puppy while talking to you.
"Ah, yes, the meeting went great, my love. There were a few bumps here and there, but we managed," Muzan said to you. Knowing you, he anticipated your worry and was proven right when he heard the concern in your voice.
"I see... well, if there's anything I can do to help you guys, you know I'd be more than willing," you said from the other line.
Muzan smiled softly, clearly touched by your investment in his endeavors as much as he was in yours.
"Well, if you're free next week, you can tag along to our town hall at Azudellin," he proposed.
You smiled, having left the salon and decided to go to the mall for some much-needed retail therapy. Akaza wasn't with you today, as he had something to take care of, so Gyokko, one of your security guards, was accompanying you today.
"I don't have anything planned next week. I don't mind joining—wait, can I also do my own charity event there? I haven't done one in a while, and don't you think this is the perfect time? It could help your campaign."
Muzan immediately smiled at this. "You're more than welcome, darling. I'll have my people assist you with your preparations. Just let me know what help you need."
"Aww, you don't have to! But thank you. Let's talk more about this at home later. Maybe we could tailor this with your own community outreach initiatives. I believe you have a couple, right? We can make it a joint one, hitting two birds with one stone."
Muzan was listening intently when Douma reached out to let him know they had reached their destination. Muzan gave him a curt nod before returning to you.
"That's right. Alright, let's talk about it later, Y/N. I need to go; Douma and I are here at the studio already. Take care on your way home, okay? Call me if you need anything."
You nodded with a happy smile on your face. "Okay. See you later, my love. And good luck today. I love you," you said with passion.
Muzan replied just as passionately, "I love you too. Mhm, yes. Goodbye. See you later."
After ending the call, he turned to Douma; his whole demeanor had already changed. "Let's go."
Douma complied, climbing out of the car after him.
As they walked inside the building and toward their dressing room, escorted by a handful of media staff, the vice presidential candidate subtly nudged his running mate.
"It seems like that phone call improved your mood, Pres ."
Muzan smirked, his strides toward the TV studio exuding confidence and pride. "My first lady is quite the wonder woman."
Douma chuckled softly, amused by Muzan's demeanor. "It seems like she has quite an effect on you."
"She does," Muzan replied, his tone unapologetically confident. "She's not just my wife; she's a force to be reckoned with and my equal."
Douma raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Muzan's unabashed praise. "You sound almost unbeatable when she's on your side."
Muzan merely nodded, the cocky smile on his face still present. "Indomitable."
Douma chuckled softly. "You've really got it bad, haven't you?"
Muzan shot him a sidelong glance, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Do you not feel the same about Shinobu?"
Douma chuckled again. "Hey now, don't underestimate me. My wife is a force of nature herself."
The proud CEO of Obelisk Kibutsuji and Phario's leading presidential candidate simply offered his running mate a rather shallow chuckle as a response and a nod to convey that he agrees with him.
Finally, they reached the TV studio, and the two of them noticed that it was a full house.
"Are you ready?" Douma asked Muzan.
Muzan's gaze swept across the room, his presence commanding attention.
With a confident smirk, he declared,
"To make history? I was born ready.'"
He made his way to the stage, greeted by applause and camera flashes, projecting an aura of assured victory as he took his seat on the couch.
*
The day was finally coming to a close. After spending the entire day at the mall shopping, you were exhausted and hungry.
Initially considering Italian cuisine, it suddenly occurred to you that the downtown burger joint you and Akaza had visited a couple of days ago was nearby.
Opting for convenience and familiarity, you decided to head there and also decided to order takeout for both Akaza and Muzan, as well as Kokushibo and the maids and guards.
Surely, both had returned home by now or were on their way. Muzan's jam-packed schedule guaranteed he would appreciate indulging in fast food after such a long day, and Akaza would undoubtedly welcome the gesture.
And it wouldn't hurt to treat your house staff every now and then. It is something you do every now and then, as it's one of your ways of showing appreciation for the services they provide you.
For Muzan, you chose to order the same as yourself, knowing he preferred healthier options but trusting he would enjoy something you approved.
You already ordered Gyokko to prepare the car, so when your orders are ready, you can just hop in and make a beeline home. As you waited at the counter, you hummed to yourself, glancing around the familiar surroundings of the burger joint.
Once again, a sense of déjà vu struck you, from when you entered earlier and throughout your stay. It's honestly starting to worry you.
"It's nice to see you around here again, my dear."
You turned to the voice—a kindly old lady. "Excuse me?" you asked politely.
The old lady smiled warmly. "It's been quite a while since your last visit."
"Oh, I've been busy these past few days," you replied with a smile. "I really enjoyed my first time here last week."
Confusion crossed the old lady's face at your response.
"Aren't you one of our regulars?"
You frowned, puzzled. "I'm not sure I understand..."
"You've been coming here for years , haven't you? Or am I mistaken?"
Your unease grew visible. "I'm sorry, but I think you have me confused with someone else."
Before you could finish, the old lady turned and retrieved a photo from the wall behind her, returning to you with a smile.
"This is you and your fiancé, right?"
She handed you the photo.
In it, Akaza had his arms around your waist, both of you beaming happily.
Your eyes widen in sheer shock.
"What..."
Turning the photo over, you saw a note scribbled on it:
Hakuji Soyama x L/N Y/N - Just got engaged! (03/03/2015)

"How the main 3 upper moons put you to bed"
KOKUSHIBO
Kokushibo sat in his dojo, sighing softly. After a few minutes, he heard the shoji door being pushed open he knew it was you he could tell by your scent than hearing the soft pityer patter of your feet coming towards him, you sat next to him "Hey Koku" You said softly turning towards him with a tired smile "Your tired.. Go to bed." Kokushibo said sternly, "But I can't fall asleep!" You whined out, pouting while looking at him, his hand wrapping around your wrist and pulling you down your head, laying on his thigh and his hand going to softly pet through your hair "Quit your whining and go to bed." He said sternly after a while of his hand softly stroking through your hair slowly lulled you into sleep soft sighs, leaving your lips as you slept.
DOUMA
You softly knocked on Douma's door hearing a cheerful. "Come in!" From Douma, you slid the shoji door stepping into his room and bowing to Lord Douma. "I'm sorry to disrupt you, Lord Douma.. I've been having trouble falling asleep and wanted to see if you had any suggestions that could help me sleep.." You mumbled out, looking at him. Hopefully, Douma grinned. "Oh~ Troubles sleeping, huh?" He said calmly before patting his lap. "Come here!" He said confidently you slowly stepped towards him. He pulled you onto his lap. Once you were in reach, you felt small compared to him, and his hand slowly started petting through your hair in a calming manner, making you blink your eyes sleepily as you felt calmer "Oh~ Starting to get sleepy now huh?" He said, grinning as he continued to softly pet through your hair, his other hand moving to softly rub your back after awhile you shut your eyes falling asleep.
AKAZA
You would walk into his room poking his side. "Akaza.." You mumbled Akaza, sitting up looking at you. "Hm?.. Something the matter Y/N?.." He mumbled. "Can't sleep.." You mumbled, hugging him tightly face pressing into his shoulder as you nuzzled into him lightly, Akaza wrapped his arms around you, pulling you down towards him so you laid down right next to each other. Akaza slowly stroked your hair as he held you close. Soon realizing you fell asleep in his arms.
Hope you enjoyed this lil fanfic! <3

You wished you knew what happened to them all after they started sparing. Or in Akaza's and Tengen's case actually fighting after purposely antagonizing him. The two hissing at each other and snarling out. Honestly you couldn't even tell who was winning because most of the fight was UNDER the water with them randomly popping up every few seconds either splashing up huge waves or showing themselves punching, or Akaza having Tengen in a headlock or some other thing
Actually it was Kanae who once again took action after a particular shark mer shouted out-
"KANAE!! ARE YOU FUCKING WATCHING!?" Somehow he had gotten himself free from the deadpanned Giyuu and now held the bored merman in a choke hold of his own looking hopefully at the pink eyed woman. "I'm dedicating this win to you!"
Her pretty face quickly turned to a frown and she had enough. Reaching out to grab the window and slam it back shut with surprisingly enough strength to shake the glass panes. The loud THUD from the window had everyone aside from Tengen and Akaza still clawing and biting at each other to give pause, looking up just as the curtains were harshly drawn.
"I am at my limits! This has gone too far! I explained it to him how many times?!," Kanae muttered to herself turning around and beginning to stomp off towards the door. "I'm going to go work off some stress and make everyone lunch! Let them all sort themselves out!"
Everyone flinched as the door was thrown open and Kanae stomped out of sight. The footfalls echoing away heading towards assembly the kitchen area before everyone looked at one another. You exchanged looks with Mitsuri before slowly turning to Shinobu, mouth opening-
"Don't worry about her." Shinobu didn't look the least bit bothered waving a hand. "She needs to blow off the stress anyways. Why don't you just try to relax and get some rest. Today's already been pretty exciting for you wasn't it?"
"I-..Well maybe I should on them first?" You gave a glance at the window. "To make sure they're alright?"
"Don't give them anymore attention." She shook her head no firmly. "You'll just be feeding into Tengen's 'fantastic' ideas and who knows what the gems for brains will do next?"
Actually...After that whole scary chase sequence and sudden kiss attack (which you were NOT blushing remembering!) you think you had better let everyone cool down and maybe take a stand back...Yeah. that's probably the better idea. So you followed Shinobu's advice no matter how difficult it was, and busied yourself with just going back to read the book. Who knows? It might have more helpful information.
However you had a hard time sleeping that night. There was some kind of..low humming along with the wind. It started out as some kind of low baritone but then pitched up to a few high notes. It almost sounded like a wind chime was ringing alongside the deep humming of a horn. A strange mixture to be sure, but it wasn't unpleasant. It was more annoying than anything since you didn't fall asleep for at least an hour.
The next day was when you were sure going to be interesting. You really hadn't seen your friends in so long and was wondering if they were ok. You wanted to really go out and see how they were but shortly after you woke up there was another meeting with all of you courtesy of Kanae. The Kocho girl had pushed in the door startling both you and Koyuki as she practically forced her way in and carried a large black slate with white chalk, with more of that fish soup(yuck) and some bread. At least there was something else to wash it down with. Again Kanae was careful in making sure no one else was around before setting down the chalkboard.
"Alright. I think I have most everything figured out, but because you're new we need to clue you in " she explained already drawing a sixth stick figured next to the five ones already present.
"Where's the others?" The only ones here were you, Kanae, and Koyuki but Koyuki was still fast asleep.
"Mitsuri is keeping Obanai busy. He's decided to help himself inside again, and my sisters are out gathering more herbs to make it look normal."
"Good idea." You looked back down to the chalkboard between you two trying not to jostle your shoulder which was still extremely more too much. "Clue me in here." You motioned towards the stick figures and the mini drawings around them.
She nodded looking focused. "In about a week the tides rise and the current near here is strongest! Because of the abundance of wildlife during these hours, they usually all go out hunting for most of the night. All we need is a good few hours of a strong current and we can be on land."
"What do we do when we get back to land?"
"We'll figure that out when we get there. Right now the problem is getting onto land." The chalk made a small line as she circled the stick figures and what looked like a crudely drawn window.  "We found enough pillows to stuff under our blankets to make it look like we're just sleeping in." In case of Obanai you supposed. "We'll wait until they're all gone and climb through the back window. It's on the side of the house not facing the beach so they won't see us if we go that way."
"Good idea! But where's the boat exactly?"
Her voice dropped to almost a whisper as she quickly glanced at the locked door before looking back to you. "It's just up the beach nearly on the far side, but we know a short cut to get there through the woods. We found a few oars in case we need to paddle our way there." She pointed out a crudely drawn boat.
"Sounds good, but what do we do in the meantime?"
"Act as we always do. If they don't suspect anything, then we can have a better chance of escaping." Her smile came back a little bit looking at the board.. before her hand wiped across the black smearing the white away and erasing any existence of their plan.
"Oh, wow."
"I know! I thought about this a lot-"
"No. I can see why Sanemi fell for you." Pink eyes blinked up to kind f/c orbs as you smiled. "You're really pretty when you smile! I can see why he might like you."
She stared at you longer before frowning and looking back down to the slate. "I don't care. I want to go home. N-Not spend the rest of my days being hounded by a shark. I don't care how many times he tries to serenade me."
You paused in the middle of taking a bite of your bread to look at her. "What?"
"Ugh. He does it every other day. You wouldn't know only being here for four days. He just sits on the beach and starts singing, and he always looks like he's after my approval or something! He never goes away unless I say it's nice O-Or I'm too tired!" Her face turned into a pretty pour as she grumpily gestured at nothing. "Who does he think I am? I'm not some girl who he can just woo into his arms and-"
"Oh that's cute." Her face snapped to your smirk so fast that her head might've popped off if it wasn't attached to her neck. "You so like him."
"WHAT?!" Immediately her face lit up a pink and you laughed.
"Oh come on. I didn't know that I was being flirted with before because I knew absolutely nothing about mermaids." The bread was pointed right at her. "But I'm certainly an expert on detecting human emotions."
"Yes? A-And how w-would you kn-kn-know that?!"
"I'm a florist. Do you know how many people bought flowers from me?" Your deadpanned brows rose higher at her face which mysteriously started to go a pink. "How many couples have come in looking for flowers for their crushes?" A bite was taken out of the breath making your voice slightly muffled. "How many weddings I did arrangements for? I've seen so many people in love, that I know it when I see it."
Her mouth opened up and no noise came out..Her head shook before she frowned harder. "I-I am not!"
"Uh. Stuttering, blushing, hardcore denial.." You swallowed. "Not to mention we all saw the way you watched Sanemi tussle with Giyuu the other day. Can't say I blame you. A nice beefy shark man, all soft for only you."
"S-Stop!"
You laughed as she hid her face in her hands, it went from pink to red. "Come on. Every girl dreams of being serenaded by moonlight. That's like the most romantic thing a guy could do other than coming to you on a pure white stallion." You grinned wider. "He's outside right now you know. I bet he'd be really happy to know that you like him-"
"My god's! If you say anything about this, then I won't treat you anymore!"
"Aha!" You pointed at her frowning face. "You aren't denying it!"
"Let's just get back to what's really important!" She quickly changed the subject grabbing the chalkboard off the floor as you snickered. "S-So you know what this entails?"
You decided to cut her a break and stop teasing her no matter how amusing it was. "Yes. I understand perfectly. But do you have anything else besides fish soup? It tastes bitter."
You were about to answer but a noise from up the hallway caused you both to whip to the door wide eyed. Quickly you snatched the chalkboard on the floor and shoved it under your knees to hide it, shoving Kanae's hand still holding the chalk as she flinched. Hiding it in one of her dress sleeves before the door slid open and you nearly fainted on sight. Right there. Standing in the doorway. Was A GIANT NAGA!! His human half looked about normal height as he stuck his head in. A mess of choppy black hair swaying messily from his head, and a mitch match of green-yellow slitted eyes narrowed on the inside. You couldn't see most of his body thanks to the black cloak hanging from him, the white scarf tied around his neck, and some kind of homemade mask slapped over half his face.
His eyes narrowed more at the both of you before he pointed. "Why was this the only door closssed in the house?"
Good lord if his voice didn't send a fearful shiver down your back. You could see why Kanae was so careful around him. However she only turned to him with a polite smile.
"Hello, Obanai. I was just giving Y/n her food." She gestured to the bread you were thankfully still holding. "We want her to feel comfortable with that wound on her shoulder you know."
"That still doesn't tell me why the door'sss closed?"
"What are you? A pervert?!"
Kanae looked at you wide eyed and the snake snapped an annoyed look at you. "And what is that supposed to mean?!" He demanded.
You did your best to look very annoyed and pointed accusingly to him. "She has to check my bandages which I remind you are on my back! I'm supposed to just leave the door open so you can peek at me?!" His expression went shocked quickly- "WHAT KIND OF PERVERTED SNAKE ARE YOU?!"
"I-I'M NOT!! IT'S JUST-" He sputtered wide eyed but ducked as you harmlessly threw your bread at him.
"GET OUT OF HERE BEFORE I GET TENGEN ON YOU, YOU SLIMEY SERPENT!!"
THUNK!!
Obanai rammed face first into the doorframe in his way to try to get away. His eyes rolled a bit dizzy before he shook his head-
"GET OUT!!"
"M'sorrymsorry-"
He jumped, quickly slithering away from the doorway and you both saw a massive black and white stripped tail before the rest disappeared from sight. There was a pause before Kanae sighed again and turned back to you.
"Nice save."
"I just thought of the quickest excuse I could think of. Seemed like a good enough one."
She smiled wider at you. "Well try to eat  for now. I'll discuss more with you later when I get a chance to chat normally."
You nodded as she stood up to leave and turned back to your bowl of soup still on the floor. And sighed. Too bad you threw your bread, but food was food you guessed. Kanae smiled as she slowly walked out of the room and into the hallway. Obanai was no where to be seen so that means Y/n's scare tactic worked in driving him off at least. She settled on heading towards her room (or temporary room as she wouldn't be staying here for long) and starting on sewing those few extra pillows together for dummies come the night
"Kanae!," a woman's voice called out followed by a series of rapidly approaching footsteps. She paused in her steps and turned around to the sight of Mitsuri speed walking towards her waving a hand. "Wait up!"
"What is it?"
She skidded to a stop in front of her and looked excited about something. "You're never going to believe this! Obanai gave me something really important!"
Her face dropped. "Mitsuri, you know that we can't accept anything or else-"
"I know, I know. But it's not for me. It's for you! TADA!!" Her hand was thrusted up and held out a familiar shape. "Obanai was gonna give it to you before he left but for some reason he was in a hurry or he asked me to give it to you instead!"
"Obanai got a gift? For me?"
Why would the serpent do that? Was he trying to court her now because Mitsuri kept saying no? Or was he trying to butter up Mitsuri by getting gifts for her friends? Maybe he was hoping Kanae would help him out with Mitsuri if he flattered her enough?
Her pretty pink braids swayed as she shook her head. "It's not so much a gift as he was just returning something of yours."
She again nudged what was in her hand at her. A familiar sight of a small clippy was in her hand, in the unmistakable shape of a green and pink butterfly. Pink eyes widened greatly looking between her and the clippy- Mitsuri held it further towards her and she slowly took it, hands shaking. It felt heavy yet light in her hands. The usual shiny outside dirty from sand and other dirt catching onto it, but it looked generally unharmed.
"My clip." A bright smile broke into her face as she clutched it to her and beamed. "Our father gave us these, but I lost one when they-...H-How did he find this?"
"Oh it wasn't him." Mitsuri corrected not registering for the reaction she would soon receive next from her correction. "Sanemi found it actually!"
Her face. Dropped. And goodness being sapped away like a cloth slowly wiping up water from a spill. "..What?"
She nodded happily. "Yeah! He wanted Obanai to give you it since he can't move on land! Isn't that so sweet!" She gushed in light of the new emotion crawling over Kanae's face. "He went through all the trouble just to give it back to you. Isn't that-"
She blinked as a formed walked past her, slightly bumping into Mitsuri on her way down the hall and towards the still open front door. You had just stood up holding the bowl your soup had been in, and on your way to drop it off in the kitchen. Maybe there was more bread there or some fresh water to wash down the bitter taste of sardines away. Your feet had barely taken two steps-
"Is this some kind of sick joke to you?!"
You paused in your walking. Koyuki startled awake with a soft snort, blinking tired pink eyes and swaying messy black hair as she sat up.
"No really?! Is this just some kind of sick reverse phycology where you think I'm going to fall for you!? Oh yes! I'm surely going to fall for you after you returned my clippy. Nevermind it's your fault I lost it in the first place!"
That sounded like Kanar. A much more angry version of Kanae.
"What's going on?," Koyuki asked as you passed by her to peer out the window to the beach.
Kanae was there. Her back was towards you so you couldn't see her face, but her hands were clenched and her arms gestured wildly. In the ocean in front of her was a few mermaids which included Kyojuro lounging in a shallow part of the water, and the Sanemi guy. All were looking shocked and wide eyed at the wildly gesturing woman as she continued her tirade.
"When are you going to get it through your head!? I DON'T LOVE YOU!! I don't even like you!!" Her hand pointed directly at the wide eyed shark mer. There was no mistaking who she was talking about. "No matter what you do! No matter what you try! I will NEVER love you! I DONT WANT YOU!! I WANT TO GO HOME!! AND DON'T YOU DARE SAY THIS IS MY HOME!! THIS IS NOT MY HOME!! THIS IS A PRISON EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU KEEP US TRAPPED BECAUSE  A L L OF YOU ARE TOO STUPID TO UNDERSTAND THAT WE DON'T WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOU ALL!!"
You could only stare wide eyed and speechless at what you silently witnessed. If you had looked behind you, then you would've seen Koyuki sporting a similar reaction to what she was hearing.
"I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU ALL! WHY CAN'T YOU ALL JUST LEAVE US ALONE ALREADY!?"
Her form turned and ran back towards the home to which you strained your neck to watch her from the window for as long as you could become you couldn't see her anymore. Koyuki jumped when a loud sound of a door slamming shut signaled her arrival back inside. Without thinking about it your feet jogged up to the door, at the same time rapid footsteps ran up the hall.
"KANAE?!"
If she heard your voice then she didn't react to you. Only continuing past you as you leaned out the doorway in time to catch a glimpse of her form disappearing up the stairs at the end of the hall. A loud slamming of a second door echoing  throughout the house. There was a pause as silence resumed..And then the distant soft sounds of loud crying filtered through the air and softly sprinkled down onto everyone's ears.
Still reeling with shock, Mitsuri approached the stairs gingerly and quietly. Her footfalls barely making a sound as her guilty face stared upwards. "Kanae?" Her voice did not reach her ears making a heavy guilt weigh in her chest. "..Oh me and my big mouth. This is all my fault."
"Don't say that." She jumped turning to monotone f/c eyes as they also stared up in the direction of the loud sobs. "This isn't any of your faults. I know how she feels, and it can't be easy for anyone."
"Oh. What are we going to do?"
"...You go up there and see if you can calm her down." A head turned. F/c eyes narrowing at the door. "I'll just step outside and make sure everything is okay out there."
A gathering of mers outside in distress and argument did not notice the small figure step outside or open the door. Did not see her stomp up towards the shore's edge. Didn't see her scoop up a fist of wet sand in her hand and reel back her good shoulder. Until looked up-
SPLAT!!
"Now that I got all of your attention- PAY ATTENTION OR ELSE!"

Chapter 10: Proven not guilty
You woke up in the medical wing. Oh yeah... you might lose your job after being found in paddock 3.
" She's awake!"
" That's good. Don't want to get cut off from her end of the story."
You sat up a bit too quickly, and regretted it. You were now dizzy from the quick movements.
Shinobu kept you from getting out of the bed. She had a firm grip when preventing you from getting out of bed.
" Easy. Easy. You aren't off the hook-"
Just thena woman, who you saw in paddock 3, came into the room and pointed at you. Which was rude, as it was a sign of accusation.
" She's telling the truth!"
" How can you be so sure?"
" The cameras! Remember?"
The entire room was silent as she said this. What was her name again? Koyuki, right? You think that was her name.
You were more relieved of, hopefully, being off the hook. You hoped that you were off the hook anyway.
" A worker pushed her in paddock 2, and Douma got her over the wall that separated him and Akaza."
" Impossible. The only humans that Spinosaurus likes are Kotoha and Inosuke."
" True, but he seemed to like her. Even Akaza was protective of her."
So the Utahraptor was Akaza? That was good to know. You froze when all eyes were on you now.
You felt the tension in the air increase with each passing second. It was just... awkward silence before Shinobu sighed.
" Alright. Fine. I'll check the cameras myself and show it to the others. Shinagazawa, carry her to her room please."
" Why?!"
" Because I am not the one that was rude to her."
He grumbled, crossing his arms as he mumbled curses under his breathe. He really loved cursing, didn't he?
However, you were embarrassed when Salami slipped his arms under your back and picked you up. Your face flushed with colour.
It was embarrassing, even confusing and weird too. Why was he carrying you? As if reading your mind, Shinobu spoke up.
" You are still recovering from Kokushibo's stare. And not to mention that you already passed out twice in a day. That is something to keep an eye on and be weary of."
Okay! So you still had the alcohol from the antidote in your blood? How nice it was to know that AFTER the event.
" I believe you owe someone an apology."
" Im sorry?!"
" You were rude from the beginning with the other trainees. Including Mrs. Y/n, from what I have seen on the cameras."
He glared at her, but sighed and directed his pupils away from you as he spoke. It was... funny, in a way.
" I am sorry. There! Happy?!"
" Very. Run along now."
He huffed and began to carry you in his arms to your bedroom. At least you were proven to be not guilty.
You didn't want to know what would've happened if you were guilty for something you didn't know how it happened. Probably get fired.
Now, you were doubting Fate and Destiny for putting all the battles in front of you. Adding new challenges.
What would happen next was up to them. Maybe Karma too. Hopefully Karma went for the dude that caused all this and not you.
You really didn't want to get in trouble anymore. Not after being proven to be the victim of a possible attempt at murder.
You shivered at that thought, but prayed for everything to be normal the next day. Hopefully normal to a small degree.
Only Fate, Karma and Destiny could decide your path. And how cruel it should be. It was only up to them, and them only.

Fanfic for fanfic'
You make a fanfic (any ship but maki and milo must be in the story)
Ill make a fanfic (maki and milo and Muichiro)
How does that sound?
(already working on it lol)
oooo ok! sounds fun!
——————————————————————————
Love potion (sort of happy ending)
——————————————————————————
Milo sat under a tree, crying.
She didn’t notice the demon king stalking her as his prey.
He injected a large dose of his blood into her, expecting it to kill her instantly.
However, what happened instead was more shocking.
Milo’s hair faded from black into a light purple, her left eye became magenta with a black sclera, and the kanji for upper moon 5 appeared in her eyes, on top of her white, heart shaped pupils.
——————————————————————————
The next day, Milo woke up that night being summoned to the infinity castle.
She hesitantly went through the portal only to be met by the other upper moons.
~after the meeting (it was just Muzan saying they have a new upper moon, upper moon 4 will be Maki now btw hehe)~
“So you’re a demon now too?” Maki asked Milo curiously and the neko demon nodded.
“Yeah.. me and Tanji got into a fight and I ran away. This is what I get for that I guess.” Milo explained, her voice held a mixture of various emotions.
Maki put a hand on the girl’s shoulder. “It’ll be ok Milo.” She attempted to comfort her and Milo smiled softly.
“Thank you Maki.” She thanked the fellow upper moon and noticed that the 2nd and 3rd moons had stuck around.
The 2 males were clearly arguing about something, well, Akaza was arguing. Douma was happily disagreeing with upper 3 just to annoy him.
“Well, bye Milo. Hopefully we’ll be seeing each other around.” She said with a smile and Milo nodded.
“Bye, see you later Maki.” She waved bye to the 4th upper moon as she walked off, being teleported out by Nakime.
The neko demon shyly approaches the 2nd and 3rd upper moons. She smiled softly before speaking. “H-hi… I’m sorry to bother the 2 of you but-“ She starts then gets cut off by Akaza, her ears then going flat.
“Welcome to the ranks, Milo san.” Upper 3 said then walked off.
“What a wonderful surprise Suzuki chan~!” He exclaimed, swaying slightly in his crisscrossed position on the cold, hard floor of the infinity castle.
She sat down in front of him and her cat ears stood upright once again, signaling she felt comfortable around the 2nd upper moon.
“I’ve only been a demon for a day and I’m already an upper moon. I think I became one upon creation honestly.. it’s pretty scary, y’know.?” She sighed when she said the last part and Douma gave a friendly smile.
“Don’t worry little lotus! We’ll take good care of you!” He exclaimed and the young demon smiled softly.
“I think I’ll like it here..” She mused, a smile on her face.
~the end~
A/n: I’m sorry this took so long! I’m gonna go start your sick maki request now!😭💕
i kinda wanna draw demon milo and douma with a bunch of lotuses ngl @thelordoflotuses

YES OF COURSE, honestly, it's my favourite one to think about when I'm sad ! :D
(I also have an other au but I think it would be a tiny bit too much angsty to deal with... '3')
Anyway- One peaceful (or as peaceful it can be with with every single moon present in the infinity castle-) day (yes it is important), Douma thought it would be a good idea to scare a lower demon without a blood demon art because why the fuck not ? It was because no one wanted to play with him. :'(
Little did every-fucking-one know, but Muzan (the reason why he's here in the first place-), is that this demon actually does have a blood demon art ! It's called time regression ! And it's very unstable, the demon has literally no control over it.
I think you can guess what happens next. :)
The upper and lower moons, Nakime and Kijusbuki Muzan got it by the blood demon art !
Every single one got changed back into human, most of them into their child self.
It means many, many, MANY THINGS.
First and foremost, Nakime's human now. And with Nakime human no longer demon... No more infinity castle. Everyone is outside now ! So the poor poor demon... Is dead now.
They all expected to get transformed back after that, but they didn't. They are all stuck as human, some as children. They're alive... But for how long ?
Because three of them are deadly ill now. Rui, Hantengu and Muzan...
And the ex-demon king is the one whom is the most at risk !
Most of them panic, formulating a plan quickly.
First and furmost, go. To. The. Shades ! They don't when, or if, they will go back into being demons. Next, the oldests who aren't adults, will go and try to find anyone. Hopefully. not a slayer (foreshadowing, foreshadowing...).
So Kokushibo (13), Urami, one of Hantengu's clone who's actually one of his sons (16), Kamanue, lower 6 (12), Wakuraba, lower 3 (12), Rokuro, lower 2 (17), Mukago, lower 4 (11).
Gyutato (10) refuses to leave his baby sister (10) all alone, he doesn't trust any of them with her.
Akaza (10), or more like Hakuji whom now remember everything, he watch them all with disgust as he leaves.
Hantengu (50) and Nakime (20) are left alone in taking care of all the younger (and/or sickly) children : Douma (8), Gyokko (8), Enmu (7), all the clones (or more like sons-), Rui (4) and Muzan (15).
Muzan is extra enraged but can not do anything about it, but he's specially terrified. He doesn't want to die, no no no ! He suppressing everything because even as a human and child, he's still their master.
One of them (Kokushibo), find someone. Sadly, it's a slayer (oh ?). But at least he knows for sure he will help them.
He calls everyone else running around trying to find help as he guide the slayer where the rest of the group is.
Tomioka Fucking Giyu, the fake water hashira, when he was trying to get back to butterfly mansion, did not expect to find an... Orphanage ? (He doesn't know) out there like that. It wasn't on his bingo list today ! But he still help them out. Which type of person would he be if he doesn't help them ? A pretty shit one that for sure !
So he takes them back to the butterfly mansion, to the surprise of one Kochou Shinobu.
And at this point, everyone are stressing but it's fine, everything fine... They wouldn't be transform into demons right now, right ?
So, before Kochou could watch for problems (she already noticed the sick ones), Rengoku suddenly arrives with a child following him ! Is Akazs, or more like Hakuji now.
Seeing them, Hakuji tries to leave, but nope ! Rengoku put him on his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, ignoring his protest with (almost literal) deaf ears.
Everyone give a cold sweat, until Kochou giggles slightly. "Come on everyone, this way. I'm a doctor and I would like to examine you all !"
They accept, hoping to know if they will go back or not and if there's some type of medicine of the sickly ones.
"So... What happened ?" Ah... Um... Everyone is kind of looking at each other awkwardly. Until Hantengu decided to respond with a pretty damn good lie. He's an amazing acter and even better liar. Following the idea that they were a orphanage, he says : "There was... A Monster... We fled... Not everyone had successfully escaped it... But at least I'm glad some of us did... But it destroyed our home... We have nowhere to go..."
She hummed, actually believing him. "Truly unfortunate... You are all welcome here ! And, apart form the already unwell ones, everyone is fine ! We will fine a place of you all to live in and we'll help you help your sickness. Until then, you will all stay here." The insect pillar reassure with a smile.
And there's goes the crocodile tears, thanking her a thousand times in fake gracefulness. And she noticed nothing too !
So... No demon blood in them, meaning... They are all stuck like that ! How annoying, and dangerous. But at least they're safe here.
Muzan's wonder, now that he is human, if his demons... Died or become humans again ? Mmh...
Anyway, they are all brought to the largest room in the butterfly, give futons, bedding, covers and pillows. The oldest (adults and teens) prepare a resting place for the unwell and the youngest (pre-teen and kids) decided to make a pillow fort !
Nakime soon join them, to make sure they don't get hurt, but also because she misses her infinite home... And her biwa.
Koku's making sure his master is well as he naps with Rui.
Hantengu happily watches his sons play (14 for angry, 13 for sad, 10 for pleasure, 8 for joy and 4 for hatred).
Gyutato and Daki play together on their own, like Douma, Gyokko and Enmu, and also like the other lower moons.
And finally Hakuji, who's pouting on his own, in a corner, watching a blank wall angrily because he has to stay in this godforsaken room with... Them. He impatient to leave and never come back.
Part 1 ! Tell me if you wanna read more or wanna read something different. ^^
Omg that’s actually kind of adorable honestly and it’s certainly be a challenge for all of the demon slayer corpse to suddenly emotionally come to terms with very the now former kizuki
I do wanna know how giyuu factors into this as you mentioned he was a sort of therapist 🥺

July Wrap Up
The Science of Fashion [2.0 stars]
Why are there qr codes in a book? Either write out the information or cut it from the book. If you need to include a website, you can just put ‘can find out more at [insert link]’ Otherwise book was fine.
Asgardians; Odin [2.25 stars] Olympians; Zeus [2.5 stars] Death Note Vol 7 [2.5 stars]
After chapter 58, I found it to be a slog. Just cause they're suddenly introducing new characters that are dubbed to be L's proteges and nothing else. Except that they're tasked with solving the Kira case as they're characters Light wouldn't have known about. Plus one of them is very much a copy and paste version of L while the other has mafia ties. I will wait till the next volume to cement this judgement as neither have had much screen time. Feel it'd be too soon.
Edit; Nvm, I saw a tiktok where someone had the same thoughts & a bunch of the folks in the comments agreed w/ the sentiment. Ik the actual ending is probably more satisfying seeing as it’s quite literally Light’s downfall. But I genuinely don’t care about who wins. It’s was more the tit for tat that L & Light had going on. Right now, it feels as if they’re about to unnecessarily drag it out. So yea, to me, the series ends w/ chpt. 58 or episode 25.
Soichi - Junji Ito [3.0 stars] Skull-faced Bookseller Honda-San Vol 4 [3.25 stars]
Author wasn’t kidding when they said this was promotional material for volume 3 + the anime. That said, was still enjoyable to read as I had extremely low expectations for this vol, having heard someone say it was akin to a fanfic. Not that fan fiction is overall bad, it’s not, but that’s not what I wanted as the end to this series.
Queen's Quality Vol 1 [3.5 stars] These Are The Words - Nikita Gill [3.75 stars]
There’s actually a structure to it which is a rarity I’ve found, at least from the poetry books I’ve read so far; its structured into 4 segments after the seasons & then each chapter is about a specific topic (womanhood, love, family)
Each section starts with a horoscope which I definitely looked forward to. Cause they make mini stories of themselves.
It uses simple language but I think it’s really impactful & makes the poems more generalizable. Which works for this collection as the goal was ‘hey, hopefully this has something you’ve been needing to hear.’
There is an overuse of nods to the moon in terms of metaphors and similes imo
Would recommend if you’re just entering adulthood or are in a transition period in life. That or if you’re wanting to read something hopeful
Demon Slayer Vol 19 [3.75 stars] Like a Butterfly Vol 2 [4.0 stars] Devil's Candy Vol 1 [4.0 stars] Demon Slayer Vol 18 [5.0 stars]
Fav moment would be Kanao stitching up Inosuke and him pinky promising not to take out the stitches himself + the anger she feels at her sisters’ deaths + Giyuu protecting Tanjiro when he faints during the fight w/ Akaza. (Keep confusing Akaza & Douma for each other, name wise. Cause they do have distinct enough looks)
That and all the backstories shown for the upper 12 are very heartfelt in that they add humanity to characters that don't really have that much screen time outside of these final fights. Like we get glimpses of them sprinkled earlier in the series. If anything, it emphasizes how Muzan prayed on all of them during an extreme low point and does make me feel sympathy for them. Which is especially poigant as the series is coming to a close. Like it makes me hate Muzan a lot more than I originally did.
The Princess and the Grilled Cheese Sandwich [5.0 stars]

Do you have any more AUs to share? I would love to hear about them.
One idea I like to play around with is the idea of the demons being able to be convinced to stop serving Muzan. It's kind of a stretch, but I think there is some canon evidence to support this as being possible with Tamayo and Yushiro being able to live independently. And there's the possibility of Tamayo and Shinobu developing medicine to revert the demons back to their human selves as we did see this happen with the one random guy that Muzan turned.
I don't think all the demons would be able to be convinced to switch sides as this seems like it would depend highly on individual personalities. In any case, I think a hashira would be assigned to one of the former kizuki to keep tabs on them. This also could lead to some fun sitcom-level hijinks.
Douma would be the easiest to convince. He has zero loyalty to Muzan, no desire for strength, and basically just does what he wants to anyway. He also strikes me as someone who is desperately lonely. In this situation, Shinobu would be the obvious choice to be assigned to him, albeit begrudgingly. But I do like the idea of the two of them playing house and acting as parental figures to the inhabitants of the Butterfly Mansion.
Akaza/Hakuji would move in to the Rengoku estate. And hopefully put Shinjuro in his place and tell him to be a better father. I think little Senjuro would be apprehensive of him at first, but with time I can see the two getting along. The estate could be turned into a training facility for kendo and judo.
The Shabana siblings would not willingly live with the Uzui family. They would try to find an abandoned house in the country to flee to, only to have the Uzuis move in right next door and proceed to be the most annoying neighbors ever with Tengen inviting himself over whenever he pleased. Gyutaro would find work at a pachinko parlour as it would still involving making sure patrons paid their debts. Daki/Ume would be frustrated with the fact that she's back in a 13-year old body and now has to attend school.
(Gyutaro and Tengen's nicknames for each other this scenario are "Scrunkle Junk" and "Glitter Dick" respectively.)
Tumblr media
I'm not sure where I land on this when it comes to Gyokko and Hantengu. We don't really know anything about Gyokko's life as a human, and his attitude of "fuck them kids" would mean that staying with Muichiro is straight out (maybe he could live with Haganezuka?) With Hantengu, would we just have him as an old man or would we get the clones and Zohakuten? I do think the idea of the younger clones moving into the Kanroji house and becoming Mitsuri's honorary brothers would be cute, but I am sure that would enrage Obanai.

Matt I request akaza bath? bath house go brrrrr
Tumblr media
— "BATH-HOUSE."
— DEMON SLAYER: Akaza, Gyutarou
— NOTE: I have been trying to write this for so long and I've had nothing. I'm so sorry. 😭 I hope you enjoy it though, even if it's short and definitely not my best work. <3 I also did Gyutarou since they were so short 😭😭 excuse my lack of understanding for him tho. I hope it's somewhat okay <3
Tumblr media
❧ AKAZA
He's.. strangely playful.
He likes to have a bit more of a playful approach to bathing, so he'll absolutely behave a bit childish and splash water at you, because he wants to see your reaction.
As a demon, he's naturally colder than humans and has a tendency to stay in bath-houses way longer than a normal human would. Occasionally, he might fall asleep. I recommend pouring water over his head if he does. As revenge. <3
He'll often sit pretty close to you, but sometimes he does end up feeling a bit brave and sits right next to you.
Tumblr media
❧ GYUTAROU
He will not get into a bath-house if it isn't entirely empty with the exception of himself. And if you're there? He feels very insecure but he wants to see you happy so he'll hesitantly get in with you.
But he will sit very far away from you.
But don't worry, just get closer if you want to, he won't move away.
He's very awkward the entire time, but he might relax a bit if you tell him you're enjoying yourself. If he does end up relaxing a bit, he'll try to strike up a conversation about something he knows you like. Get you talking so you hopefully pay less attention to him. <3

Update #13, 2/28
Well, I think its obvious I’ve been in a bit of a frenzy this month, and isn’t it shocking I’ve gotten another update out in record time?
I’m sure we’ll be back to our regularly slow program after March, which I project to be a busy month. You’ll be seeing me a lot I think!
So, onto the show. Here are my priorities this month:
Dragon Fic: Nameless for now, but I’m workshopping some cute ones. Basically, its dragon Kyo, and its looking like its going to be another long one, but I am very excited to work on it! Its going to be raunchy as hell, like more than normal. I am very much looking forward to it.
Foreplay Fridays: I have a fun one shot of modern fem!Kyo and Akaza having a grand time planned. A ship fic? Le gasp, I know, but I’ve found these two are my OTP, whether they both dudes, gals, or switched up. You might see them between reader fics time to time.
Raffle Request: I would like to get started on this project this month! It’ll definitely be worked on between these others.
The First of Many: The collaboration fic with another writer. Its going to be very different working on a multi-chapter fic with another person, but it also brings me some relief knowing I don’t have to write every single chapter. Look forward to this one, its going to be interesting.
Haunted Holidays: Okay, I have four chapters for this one to work on, since I’ve missed like ALL the holidays for them, but there’s no shame on working on them little by little. Hopefully I get the next part out this month, but I have been a broken record saying I’ll work on it, so we’ll see.
Sweet Dreams: Just a little bit at a time, but hopefully I make progress. I want to finish before my year anniversary on AO3. We’ll see. Thank you for your patience.
Busy busy, but what else is new? I checked off a few on my list this month, let’s see what I’ll get through in March.

It’s not my place to dictate how kny should have or should have not ended, though I can’t help but be a bit dissatisfied with all the deaths. Despite this, I can’t thank Koyoharu Gotouge enough for giving us this wonderful series full of wonderful characters!
So uh... did a lil end rewrite to let my faves be happy— tho this also includes ocs hahaha sorry for those of you who don’t necessarily care for oc works, I might write an alternative end like this again without them...
((Kaise is my bby along with Hotaru and Makoto; Hiromi and Hanae belong to @fifteenskies15 ; Hinami belongs to @brinthie ; and of course a lil @seiiblue cameo))
Happily Ever After || kny alternate ending (canons x ocs)
Bleary eyes blinked open, taking a moment to adjust to the light. Muffled voices greeted the girl’s ears as she tried to sit up, but steady hands gently pushed her back to the ground. She recognized the uniforms of the people hovering over her now. Kakushi.
Does that mean the fight is over...?
The girl went to speak, but her throat felt too dry and her lungs heaved in pain.
Without having to ask, or really being able to, a voice answered all her burning questions.
“Muzan is dead. We won, Akashi-sama. We won.”
The words were surreal to her. They had really done it.
Kaise stayed on the ground upon the kakushi’s stern commands. They were tending to her various wounds, covering the frail girl in layers and layers of bandages. She squeezed her eyes closed and hissed with pain every time cold ointment met her open wounds. The girl also grasped firmly at the ground, closing tight fists around grass and dirt. That’s when she noticed her legs felt completely numb.
“My...” she rasped before coughing, the Kakushi tending to her looked worried “my.. legs..”
“You still have them! Don’t worry! Just some wounds, the numbness will pass.” A different kakushi than before assured her “now please, lie still.”
The girl once more complied. Worry still gnawed at her, though.
“Kaise..? Kaise..!” A familiar voice called out around the field, his voice laced with much more emotion (concern) than usual
“Giyuu?!” Kaise called back, sitting up despite her body’s painful protests and the Kakushi’s orders
Worried blue eyes met her teary turquoise ones. The man was bandaged up as well, but his right arm...
The man ran to her, quickly but gently pushing her back down to relax and continue to be tended to. She used his thighs as a pillow and her cradled her close with his left arm. Tears spilled from them both, no no one could discern if they were from joy or sadness.
After a moment, the kakushi dispersed. One left with a quick “tomioka-sama, we leave her in your care.” And thus, they were alone.
Giyuu had dutifully wiped Kaise’s tears away as they fell, whispering words of comfort she couldn’t quite hear over her sobs.
Raising a shaky arm, Kaise wanted to cup his cheek and wipe away his tears too. Giyuu understood her motions, quickly leaning into her touch. He closes his eyes gently, reveling in the warmth her hand provided.
“Kaise..” his gruff voice mumbled
Kaise wanted to reply, but all that she could muster was a small “mm?” Through tears.
“Let’s get married.”
——
Sanemi was already heavily bandaged and drifting in and out of conciousness by the time Hiromi had got to him. The Kakushi trying to fix up her clearly broken leg was quite annoyed at her insistence, but Hiromi’s stubbornness always won.
“Sanemi!” She croaked, attempting to crawl even closer to her lover
The man didn’t reply, but the telltale twitch of his remaining fingers seemed to put the girl at ease. She reached out far enough to intertwine her fingers into his bandaged ones.
The man groaned lightly as more pressure was placed on his chest. He wheezed, eyes opening from the sudden shock of pain.
He was so close. So so so close to being with his younger siblings again. So close.
But then the grip on his hand stopped all his racing thoughts. He squeezed back lightly.
Hiromi.
“I’m not going anywhere.” He said, almost more to himself than to her
“You better not.”

Hinami felt absolutely exhausted when it was all over. She managed to stagger into the last few minutes of the fight against Muzan. She was in virtually no shape to keep fighting, but did so anyways.
Before she knew it, the world went dark and her whole body went numb.
Eyes opened, but it was still dark. A single figure stood in the vast expanse of black. He brought light as he walked towards her, his features seeming clearer with every step.
Recognition flashed in her magenta eyes. “Mui-kun?”
The boy only shook his head. “No, sorry.”
Confusion was evident in her expression, brows even knit together thoughtfully. Quickly, she pieced it together.
“You’re Yuichirou.”
The corners of his mouth barely upturned into a vague smile as he nodded slightly. He was Mui’s spitting image, albeit seeming both younger and smaller.
“So... I’m dead.”
“Not quite yet. I’m here to keep you out. I pushed my stupid younger brother out, but I can’t rest easy knowing how close he was to slipping through here.”
Hinami’s breath hitched. “Mui died?!”
“Technically,” he huffed, clearly annoyed “but I wasn’t going to let him stay dead... and not you either.
Confusion hit her like a wave once more. Why would he so adamant on her staying alive? The Muzan battle was over. It really wasn’t a bad way to go.
“Stop thinking like that.” Yuichiro grumbled “I know you’re thinking something pessimistic; do you know how many times I wanted to slap that look off my brother’s face?!”
Silence met his words, but he didn’t hesitate to keep talking.
“You care about him, don’t you? I need someone I can trust to keep him from trying to die again.”
So that’s why.
“But I—“
“No buts! Hinami Kimiko, consider yourself kicked out of the afterlife, at least for now.” He seemed mad, but the soft look in his eyes told a completely different story “please, show him how to be happy.”
And Hinami’s eyes flew open again, this time greeted by the light of the sun crawling across the sky. The only thing was, she couldn’t see it.

Makoto and Hotaru were fidgety and uneasy, eventually rushing into the battlefield too. They didn’t feel right standing idly by as so many people risked their lives. They weren’t particularly fighters, but they could damn well try their best to be useful.
The two had stumbled into the tail end of the fight against upper moon one; they were horrified by the injuries they saw, but quickly set to work.
Hotaru was especially worried for Genya. It wasn’t long ago that they had become an official thing, after all. She wanted to stay by him, but Makoto pulled her away. She would be less distracted letting him patch her lover up and thus she took charge of seeing to the youngest pillar.
Sanemi was also, without a doubt, quite worried. Makoto shooed him away as well, insistant he keep fighting.
Hotaru made quick work of evaluating the wounds of the small boy. It looked bad... but she felt a sudden rush of confidence. She decided he was much to young to die. She wouldn’t let him.
Makoto wasn’t keen on letting Genya die either. Despite his overprotective nature towards Hotaru, he had to admit he liked Genya. No one made his sister smile quite like him.

It had now been five years since that fated day. Sunrises had never been as beautiful as the one that marked the end of demons, but the survivors of the battle didn’t seem to mind.
Obanai and Mitsuri were the first to marry. It was a beautiful ceremony and the two former hashira really couldn’t be happier. Later, they had two sons; though, even now, they’re thinking of having more. Hopefully a daughter this time.
Tanjirou and Inosuke didn’t take long after that to announce that they were a thing, though it was more than a little obvious. Zenitsu then tried to one-up them and boast about being with Nezuko, but that was most definitely obvious.
Kyojuro was next to throw a big ceremony. After he had sustained his injuries from the fight with Akaza, he took a lot of time to himself to recover. He had his now wife, Sei, by his side the whole time. She supported him unconditionally, and he couldn’t help but fall for her. They had a baby girl now, but we’re definitely planning on having more kids in the future.
Sanemi couldn’t stand being shown up by his fellow ex-hashira, so he proposed next. If he didn’t, Hiromi certainly would’ve. They had their two children, a son and daughter, in quick succession; this came as no surprise to anyone.
The wedding of Kaise and Giyuu was the most recent. Definitely not the last to come, though. It was a less frivolous reception than their comrades had, but still awe-inspiring. They took their relationship a bit slower than most, but no one seemed to mind. Kaise was now pregnant with her second child, her first only being about 10 months old.
Despite their lack of ever confirming where their relationship was, everyone knew Hinami and Muichirou were together. Hina had made a promise, after all. The two were happy. One could even say they were more than happy. They had to deal with their own recoveries, but truthfully it was having each other that kept them going. Mui and Hina made each other whole after feeling broken for so long.
Genya took a bit longer to propose, but finally did so with encouragement from his brother. He and his fiancée Hotaru were happily planning their future together, even discussing the idea of having kids! Though, Genya often became too flustered to ever finish any of those talks.
Makoto was also engaged now, to Hiromi’s younger sister Hanae no less. The two were a cute pair, and they definitely made each other happy.
They were all happy.
