there’s something to be said about the fact that janus is the most professional out of all the sides. i genuinely think that he’s the only side playing his part because it’s his job, and not because he has any personal feelings attached.

virgil showed signs of genuinely wanting to be accepted and loved by thomas and the other sides. logan definitely values thomas’s validation a lot and becomes sad when he doesn’t get that validation. remus.. might actually be the second most professional side. but since he seems to work under janus (janus sending him over to thomas and telling him what to do), i guess a lot of that professionalism comes from janus himself. remus isn’t as stupid as he seems obviously, but he doesn’t have a clear-cut agenda like janus does.

i just think it’s interesting to see a side who is only concerned with thomas’s well-being because it’s their job and they want to do a good job. even janus’s frustration at thomas not taking his advice and later his excitement about thomas acknowledging his points came off to me as someone dealing with their kinda shitty boss (no offense to c!thomas, i just imagine that’s how janus views him lol). of course, janus has some fun at his job but i mean, i would too if no one ever listened to me and i’m automatically labelled as the bad guy.

all of this is slowly beginning to change since janus seems to be getting closer to patton but i guess we’ll have to wait and see if they actually become friends or if they’re more like coworkers on friendly terms.

i think they’re just fun little coincidences, but the way nghy’s story so far is filled with the experiences of past cec couples is just so cute!!

like the sporty childhood friend romance of kthn

and the initial turned down confession

and “what is love??” crisis (and consequential realisation of feelings) of mochiaka

and the long-distance (for the sake of their dreams) unrequited love of the harucouple

and that’s not even getting into the dynamic parallels between nghy and other couples, which may be kind of a stretch, if i’m being honest so i’m not including them, since their stories all written by the same crew, so there’s bound to be some overlap there

it’s kind of like hw has written a couple made up of their favourite bits from their prior pairs, whether intentionally or not, and i’m all for it tbh~~~ i’m sure there’re still more (perhaps accidental?) callbacks to come, considering how early we are in nghy’s story, so let’s watch their little fairytale unfold together!!

Only a few pieces remained of their pizza, the box mostly empty where it sat atop the mattress between their splayed legs. Normally Mishka didn't care for the food at Strexa—it always felt too fancy, like it was trying too damn hard—but even though it wasn't nearly as greasy or cheesy as either of them preferred, the pizza had still tasted like heaven after days of starvation while in captivity.

From the moment he'd been taken, Mishka had known that nothing would ever be the same (assuming he even made it out alive). The secret was out. Over a decade of lies, of trying so hard to protect Sasha from all of this...and now he was so far beyond involved. Why did Mishka have to be so fucking selfish?

He never would have guessed how much Sasha had changed while he was gone. And now that he was back, for the first time since...hell, since childhood, probably—they'd actually talked. Really talked. About them, their relationship, their wants and feelings, and everything that had gone wrong. All because Sasha had been so afraid of losing him. (The way Mishka's heart couldn't help but flutter at that thought was pretty damning evidence of his own problems.)

But even counting all of that...

He wasn't sure that Sasha would even want to talk about the rest. At least, maybe not yet—not after everything they'd already shared. Still, the whole "assassin" thing was the last elephant in the room. The least Mishka could do after everything Sasha had confessed was try to clear the air once and for all.

"About all this, I mean," he clarified, twirling a hand in the air to indicate the room, the entire tower, and everything that meant. His arm flopped back down around the other's shoulders where he was tucked into Mishka's uninjured side, giving a gentle squeeze. "You can ask, if you want. I won't lie to you anymore."

I adore OX’s spontaneous inconsistency, but not so much when it comes to the christmas specials. I’m really hoping this year’s update will be a continuation and not something else. we wait an entire year for these chapters — out of everything else (official illustrations, extra chapters, normal chapters, etc.), I feel like OX should consistently deliver christmas specials on principle

but I know I’ll still enjoy/support whatever ends up being posted… I’ll just inevitably be a bit saddened if it isn’t a continuation from last year, and I think that’s fair to say without sounding like a complete asshole

this is. an EXTREME long shot. but im trying to make a transcript for yu yu hakusho and i need subtitles to help for parts that i cant make out, but ive come to an issue:

the box set i got just. doesnt have subtitles for the dub for some fucking reason

hulu, which is being payed for, only has 2 seasons of yu yu hakusho, for some fuckign reason

funimation/crunchyroll, while once having the show available for free with ads, now has everything after season 1 locked, and everything from episode 4 onward locked specifically for the dub

any 🏴‍☠️ sites im finding online does not have subtitles for the dub

so that brings me to the point of this post: since i have the yu yu hakusho box set, i am NOT giving crunchyroll/funimation any more money. and so even though its a long shot, would anyone be okay with me using their already-subscribed account on crunchyroll or funimation so i can use the subtitles for my transcripting?
