Maps and letters filled the table by the farther end of the room illuminated by candles and a fireplace. Tomorrow is one of the most annoying days of the year at work: Health Risk Assessment day. The only day more annoying is the day the results come out. But tomorrow we get weighed and measured and blood drawn, and in a couple weeks they email us our results. It gives the company an overall look at the health of the employees who choose to participate. Also if you choose to participate you get $50, and if you score above an 84 (out of 100) or improve your score by 4 points, you get an additional $50.

Everyone always talks about eating well right before it, and we used to hold this event in January, but people were mad it was too soon after the holidays and they needed to lose weight. Like it's supposed to measure overall health, not how much weight you can lose a couple weeks before it.
I'm not looking forward to my coworkers talking about how much they weigh and how many points they got and blah blah blah. I know I'm going to lose points because of my weight this year. Hell my blood work might be fucked, idk. But you better believe I got a big ol' bag of peanut m&ms at the grocery store this evening and at the whole thing.
I just feel very... idgaf-y about a lot at the moment, specifically around my health. Should I be trying to lose weight because I'm predisposed for lots of conditions if I don't? Yea. Should I try to get back into the regular habit of going to the gym to improve my fitness? Obviously. Should I be trying to est healthier and more nutritiously balanced meals? 100%.
Am I doing any of that? Not with any consistency. And I hate it.
I want to curl up in bed and sleep for days. I want to go on a silent retreat where there is no noise and I can calm the stress that is constantly running rampant in my head. I want to... idk what are the instagrammers doing now? Balance my hormones, and drain my lymphatic system and whatever whatever whatever.
