My 27 year old horse had an asthma attack today because a construction man walked down the road outside his pasture.

Had to ask the guy to say something and wave to show that he wasn’t an eldritch horror, and he obliged. Horse calmed down.

Later I stopped on the road and got out of my car to ask my horse if he feels stupid now. He snorted at me once but I could hear gears turning in that walnut brain.

I took The Baby to the barn today so my friend could meet her and my horse’s wife adopted her INSTANTLY

Like would not leave her alone and ran off another horse that got too close. Poor girly lost her mind when we took away her dear child of twenty minutes

Foaling season 2024 has ended, with 3 healthy babies and 3 healthy mamas! Thank every god.

Up top is baby Uther (colt), second is Fiada (filly) and bottom is Andromeda (filly)- this is youngest to oldest.

I am so excited to be getting to sleep through the night again. No more foaling alerts.

And in honor of my beloved Nimue, the farm name will be changing- Fiada and Uther are also both named for arthurian myth, seeing as they are her siblings.

I'll miss her forever but I'll keep hoping that her soul will find it's way back to me. And I truly believe she's been looking out for her little siblings.

Opinion on the horse vs elephant discourse?

I am a member of the Horse Club Hotties. Card carrying, working to be on the executive board. The drama of elephants is commendable, however. The size! The stature! The power! Incredible. But I cannot choose them over horses. Speed and nobility and grace. What a wondrous creature.

Honestly I can’t get over how dumb horses are. Like yes they’re smart but also I ride an OTTB and he’s dumb as a bag of rocks and I love him dearly. But then my dressage horse is a Halflinger that would for sure kill me if he had thumbs and could unlock his own stall (we lock it because he knows how to open it otherwise. he’s the smart one.)

Just went for a ride alongside public roads and I think my favorite thing was a little girl hanging out of the car window screaming ‘YOUR HORSES ARE SO PRETTY’ as the car whizzes past and idk it was just funny but also sweet
