Oo what about cHannah?

I'm just getting increasingly enraptured with her. Summaries for lore are helpful but going back and rifling through old vods gives me such deeper impressions of their characters. She talked about how she's aware of how women and femininity are usually ignored and underestimated and how she actively plays up femininity in her builds and general vibe so she can catch them off guard and kill them more easily, and also how her evil lair thing under her base isn't representative of her either and is exaggerated partially as an intimidation tactic. It's interesting to me how these things aren't necessarily 'acts' but that she leans into certain aspects of her personality while masking others depending on the situation. It's also more apparent in more subtle things like her level of politeness, how much she insults people, whether or not she makes an effort not to swear, etc. I think it's fun that she is a person who will insult and argue with you more if she likes/trusts you and I think it's an interesting and subtle level of guardedness for her character.

I also think it's interesting how much she enjoys fighting. Some characters like the feeling of violence or control or vengeance but she enjoys the act of fighting and it like. is very neat to think abt seriously. When she's running around on the first day she thinks its stupid that she's fighting zombies, not because they're irritating but because she thinks they're below her to fight. She lists her ability to kill other people with pride and a main core fact about her. The context to her joining the server is her losing in a fight to Dream but beating Punz. She is actively excited to fight Sapnap when Puffy tells her about him. She gets into repeated rematch fights with Punz outside his house. I think the only other character I've seen on the SMP that actually likes fighting as much as her is maybe Techno.

I also am fascinated by what Hannah's afraid of and what she's not afraid of. She's terrified of cave spiders because they've killed her in her previous hardcore worlds. When she and puffy get trapped in a void maze trap and Puffy's freaking out she just silently brute forces her way to an exit and seems undisturbed, but she's very scared when she thinks the two of them are lost and can't get back to the main SMP. She's initially freaked out by the Egg vines and says that they look 'poisonous' but after Puffy explains it to her she is totally frightened by it. She believes that it's evil and that it can mind control people and she's cautious but not. afraid in the same way other characters are.

One last thing I looooooove how much she carries over from her old experiences. As said before she's scared of cave spiders due to a hardcore series but also carries a bunch of her stuff on her instead of storing it and makes a ton of crafting tables because of it. She calls the Central SMP 'Mid' out of habit from Minecraft Hunger Games. Her entire fighting thing and most of her pre-smp knowledge of other characters comes from bedwars and other fighting minigames. I just like when people do that

Avid: not addressed in-series yet, but has been confirmed in the AvidMC Discord that this is the same Avid from the 100 Days in a Minecraft Nightmare series. so: killed the Dark Lord on request of the Nameless King of Incendium, got banished to Limbo in exchange, and.. now he's here?

Kale: not confirmed how he got here, but mentioned being from space (and that the Jungle Kingdom smells like home?)

Trog: unknown, but intro phrases the Kingdoms' structure as being something engineered in response to bloodshed and betrayal so thats fun to note

Ok so the thang abt Bdubs is technically multiple answers are correct (Space/Heart)… but calling him a Time player above all else is a misconception when that aspect in mirror to its counterpart is rigid yet also naturally destructive.

Anywayz I say both Space and Heart are right answers depending on how (what version of him) you make ur judgement.

Like… he is Space from perspective that he is an artist and he Creates things, he is highly respected for that. He has concerns for presentation, he experiments with different block combinations and translates irl art concepts into Minecraft- much akin to Space’s abilities to mess with space, scale and velocity.

Alternatively Heart is also correct if u look at him from a /rp perspective and the choices in how he represents himself there (very deliberate). It’s the ‘emotional’ aspect not just for the player but the awareness everyone else is emotional too. Bdubs’ self-assurance makes his character adaptive especially for social games like the Life Series and Blood on the ClockTower etc.

SECONDED!!! Ivory's old videos are a classic and extremely iconic - they're great to rewatch and you keep coming back to them because the storytelling is just that good! The video editing may have set a new standard in my& eyes for how good Minecraft videos can be, and for many Ivory was an introduction into the wonderful and fun scene of Minecraft prison escapes! And let's not forget the absolutely gorgeous skin that I& still foam at the mouth every time about-

Tbh, and I feel like it sometimes bears repeating, but our basis for how good a cc is at Minecraft tends to be stilted specifically because they get compared to those who are AMAZING at Minecraft. But any cc who's made it to mcc is genuinely really good, even those who never win. Most, if not all, the people who play on hermitcraft, empires, and rhe life series are good at Minecraft. Including combat and survival.

It's just that they play at a completely different level than regular players, so those who aren't gods at Minecraft end up branded as "average to bad" but in truth they... Aren't.

I use mcc as an example specifically because there's a very easy way to verify that, and it's by logging on and playing mcc island and realising how difficult those games actually are. It's not a 1:1 because of the added gimmicks, but it's enough to humble you.

Scar, Jimmy, Bdubs, Joel- and anyone who gets dubbed on the "bad" side of the skill spectrum are actually good players, who just have a propensity to clumsiness and panic. It really is that control over one's nerves that can bring a player from good to amazing - and as much as joking abt them sucking because they tend to be clumsy and unlucky and careless is funny, I get happy when their skills get recognised :')

Why we all love Relationships in minecraft Roleplays QSMP Hideduo and Teaduo

first: of all why do we all love that romantic tension in minecraft roleplay series? well bc wanting to be loved is a bit universal and seeing other people care and come closer to one another (facing the fears of rejection and doupt and loss but still going) and we see that it goes well, we're like: oh shit maybe there is hope! second: these ships and duos shows people caring for one another, most of the time in a spicy/risky but also adorable, muture and healthy way. Hide duo is more healthy for now, but they both encourage voilence sometimes, in the world of minecraft- let the debate pursue.

third: seeing people care for one another and experiencing good and bad things together are great! but there might be a difference in gender (for now, now we've gotten our little teaduo which is actually awsome too right) but okay say this: you've heard your intire life that "these" kinds of people never ever show affection, or care, or anything like that, they fight and they build and they have skills and thats it, but then suddenly they give you a hug and a smile.

all our lives we've(boys girls and other) heard these "myths" abt how men show affection to few people and how women show affection to everyone all the time.

we LOVE when these myths are BROKEN

hideduo: the most american duuuuude in the whole world takes roses from this other guy and has to sip water when he sees art abt it. a nerd scientist, with chemical education, and fighting skills (ish) falls for this masculine american dude, and they both show each other softer and nicer sides, especially fit, it came very suprisingly to me, how he is around pac sometimes.

teaduo: bagi pays attention to other people but also goes COMPLETELY her own way *looks at her main weapon the frying pan* and stands on her values. Tina cares more what people say and do around her which is why they are a good match, same with hideduo.

same gender relationships gives space to show multiple sides of affection and love from one gender, ur not limited to anything bc of ur gender, you can do and be anything, just live and have fun, take care of self and ur friends!

okay let's dissect this part by part.

Kariselle exists because I work with characters, yes. I think the world around the characters can only be built when you have a grasp of what you want these two, three, four people to do with each other. It's the wrestling philosophy—I'm the booker of the show, and it's a sex show. I want the audience to see these two people fuck. These two really complement each other in some shape or form (character trait, like, for example, in To-Do List, Minju's naughty, and OC's corruptible and a bit of a pushover). Now, I have the complentary traits, and I can start selling the reason why they fuck: Is Minju exploring? Is she a known pervert? Is OC just a horndog? What does Minju want out of this? What does OC want out of this? Why do they have to fuck? I think this is an effective way to start a draft—knowing your characters first, and making a world around them.

For Sisterly Bonding, a threesome does not have to be complicated. You can actually just start with the sex scene, and sprinkle details in later. Writing does not have to be a linear process—this is something I need to learn myself too. You can absolutely just cut the story short, and sprinkle details of it into the smut instead. However, remember that Sisterly Bonding is Chapter 1 of a series, and not a standalone, so I do have wiggle room to spread my worldbuilding out, which results in what is posted.

For Tuesdays With You—I'm not familiar with that experience at all either. I'm absolutely shooting from the hip, but I've also tried to really make it as realistic as I can imagine or know through research. I'm pretty sure there's a girl out there who's read my work and went "this is bullshit" and left, but I don't think I'll ever know, unless they use this AMA to really tell me "haha ur shit" or something idk. I think I'm doing okay though, based on the comments on AO3.

ok here i am writing out my thoughts on double life pearl. pulling out my literary analysis brain for an unscripted minecraft series thats how it is

more below cut

so my interpretation of life series pearl (in both last and double life) is fundamentally tied to her relationship with scott so i'll also be speaking abt him alot in this little ramble

scott won last life. last life, fundamentally, was built on blocks of betrayal. while 3rd life had its healthy does of backstabbing, its got nothing on what the boogeyman mechanic introduced. all alliances suddenly got far shakier. no one could really trust anyone, but scott did not play by the rules. during his first time as boogey, he directly told his teammates (never stated to be against the rules but as far as i can tell hes the only person to have done this ever) and goes to kill someone who is specifically against him & his allies (rip impulse). during his second chance at life-series sanctioned amicide, he breaks the rules even further. he downright refuses to kill one of his allies- at this point in the series, anyone not red is his ally, so killing any of them would result in an ally lost. scott remained loyal in a game of backstabbing, and it earned him the victory.

if last life was a game of backstabbing, then double life was a game of loyalty. the soulmate mechanic not only reinforced ties of loyalty- literally paring up players into neat pairs- but it relied on that. if you shared a health bar, you'd have to be loyal to one another, or else you'd die. it's practically set up for scott to succeed, just like he succeeded during last life. if he plays all the same cards, he'll win. the game is designed with him in mind. he's even paired up with his most trusted ally from last life, pearl. he can't lose.

except, he absolutely can, because through the folly of circumstance, he and pearl end the first session wanting nothing to do with each other.

once again scott has broken the rules of the series. he's scorned his soulmate (who, in another life, was such a trusted ally he'd doom himself to red to spare her), and broken the chain. even in a game designed for him, he breaks the rules.

and this is where pearl gets involved

pearl, throughout both last life and double life, is paired with scott- once on their own terms (her terms, really- as she was blessed with extra lives, it was her decision to share her lives with scott that really solidified their alliance), and once by the hands of god. the universe wanted a perfect repeat performance of last life, a celebratory encore of the victory of someone who broke the rules and won despite it, and they did not get it. they did not get their perfect designed ending

instead, they got pearl.

pearl, like scott, does not play by the rules in last life. it's impossible for her to play by the rules, when her soulmate has scorned her so, but she takes it to new levels. She harms her soulmate, directly (ice bucket challenge, anyone?), and in the process also harms herself. she lives alone- scott, at least, has a chosen partner, and martyn spends considerable time trying to get cleo back, but pearl does no such thing. she builds herself an isolated tower and surrounds herself with her army of wolves

pearl's story in double life is, essentially, a story of lonliness (this is reflected in her motifs- lone wolf, wolves & the moon, etc). throughout the series, none of her alliances last long- hardly any make it longer than one episode. she truly is alone, her only constant fried throughout the series being tilly. tilly was there before she knew her soulmate was scott, and she was there after she was scorned. pearl relies on her dogs for protection- as minecraft dogs are very good at providing- but also, for what others refuse her: companionship.

like scott is a loyal victory in a game of traitors, pearl is a lonesome victor in a game of lovers. in the end, she stands alone- scorned and soulmate-less, the winner only because her opponent decided to loose. she, like scott, won a game designed against her. against the wishes of the univese, she stands alone

ANYWAYS tldr pearl and scott both broke the rules of their series and won bc of it, sorry no grian mention even tho i have thoughts about his 3l victory and treasure him dearly he just straight up isnt relevant to this one. might write more of these long ish analysis posts cause i had alot of fun with this one

hi!! i haven’t watched virtually any yogs content in like 7 years but was inspired by your blog to start giving things a look-see again, especially with seeing rythian, nilesy, and ravs on the main channel again and seeing that rythian’s doing another minecraft series now! i was wondering, does kirbycraft have much lore or rp content? i might watch it anyway because it does seem fun and i’ve been getting into watching minecraft series again after a long hiatus, but i tend to be much more interested in stuff with backstories and/or a storyline, even if it’s a relatively small part of the series! and do you know of any other yogs/yogs-adjacent minecraft series made in the past few years with more of a lore/rp focus? love your art btw!!

It's fantastic seeing more minecraft on the main channel again, the build battles and other little bits have been such a treat and I'm so SO glad we're getting more of it!!

Kirbycraft,, is not a roleplay series, no, BUT I still strongly suggest checking out at least the edited videos over on Briony's channel! The first few sessions of streams did have quite a few little references on Rythian's part to Blackrock lore, and he has his continued dislike of endermen and such (If you find you don't vibe with watching the whole streams, at least check out the vod where they beat the dragon. It's very good.)

Despite it not being a lore/rp series, we're all very eager to make up silly lore in the fandom abt how krb would connect to Blackrock + the greater series lore, so while canon may not provide, Fanon absolutely will.

In terms of other series, since Flux Buddies ended back in 2019, we've not really had a true Yogsmc roleplay series. The closest would be what Martyn's been up to in the past couple years with the Life series, Rats and Pirates smps, and a few others I'm sure I'm forgetting. I love the Life series, very worth a watch from his povs, and I've heard good things abt the other mc series he's been involved in!

If you're happy to leave the yogs sphere I'd also recommend Empires, both seasons, if you're looking for a very lore and roleplay heavy series.

That being said, there's quite a lot of mc content from the yogs nowadays that isn't rp focused, (Duncan hasn't stopped, seriously does he know he can stop playing minecraft?) which is all excellent. Vault hunters with the Hats + Duncan's group was great, Duncan's park 2, cursedcraft with Simon + Gee. Plenty of stuff to try out!

I didn't expect this to get this long lol but!! Welcome back!! Big wide world of awesome stuff coming out, (and now's a great time to get into krb as they're likely to be taking essentially a season break/ start something new rather soon) and I hope you find something you enjoy!

not exactly what you asked for, but dsmp w last life mechanics IS a onehsot i started like two years ago and never finished, ironically enough. i remember id put both Phil and Techno as red name players--Techno being a person who hides what life he's on, and Phil being someone who doesn't hide it, but is so chill (and dresses in enough green) he sort of tricks you into forgetting and letting your guard down

also there is/was a post going around somwhere abt how Scar and Techno are both characters who operate under looney tunes logic, and thus sort of cancel out, and i think it's hysterical. i dunno how id find it again but. they'd be hysterical to put in a room together. esp bc villain Scar is SO much fun to write
