How would Estinien act if the WOL/Estinien encounter one of his ex’s and one of the WOL’s ex’s? Bonus Thancred.
Oohthe dramaaaa
Estinien (and Thancred) exs reactions.
Estinien
Unsurprisingly doesnt have too many exes. Between his duties as the Azure Dragoon and the strict structure of the Ishgardian dating scene, he’s just. never had the time or the energy for that kind of thing. He does, however, have lots of fellow Dragoons he has bedded at one point or another, some of them multiple times, and with most there are no feelings in either direction, really, but he always feels this kind of low-grade embarrassment watching you interact with them.
How he reacts to your ex will depend on the quality of the ex. If they’re kind, if you parted amicably, if they don’t appear to make you uncomfortable? Then it’s fine. He’ll fairly quickly dismiss them, keeping their interactions polite. He knows there’s no competition, there’s no need to posture or loom. You have your past, as does he, but that is the past, and this is now, and you’ve chosen him, and he is sure in it.
If they’re an asshole, though, or they make you uncomfortable, Estinien definitely doesn’t mind playing it up a little bit. A hand on your waist, drawing you against his side. His icy glare over your shoulder. The occasional but pointed kiss to your hair, or the back of your hand. Your past is your past, and this is now, but Estinien definitely doesn’t mind proving that he is a marked improvement.
Thancred
As funny as it is to read it as estinien reacting to thancred being your ex, thats for later.
Thancred has a LOT of “exes”, which is to say Thancred has a lot of people he has slept with at least once, sometimes twice, rarely more than that. At least a half a dozen in every major city. Enough that he’s run the full gambit of exes, from amicable friends to neutral acquaintances to people who he’s had to make clear he never wants to see again. It happens, he’s not ashamed of it, you’ve met multiple of his exes in the past, some without even knowing, and there have been times when he hasn’t hesitated to loop and arm around your waist to guide you down a different street while cheerfully informing you that you’re helping him avoid a shitty ex.
Your exes, though? Thancred can get a little judge-y. Not that you dated them of course, never, but that they ever let you go in the first place. How could anyone look at you and not see you for the treasure that you are? How could they see you as the treasure that you are and not do everything in their power to hold onto you? He’s grateful that they didn’t, of course, their misfortune is his bliss and whatnot, but it doesn’t stop him from wanting to rub it in a little.
Even with your exes that are still your friends, Thancred can get a little. peacock-y. A hand on your waist, occasionally stroking casually but possessively down your hip, as he sings your praises, with his chin on your shoulder if you’ll let him. Sappy and overblown gestures of affection that somehow leave you both exasperated and breathless. He wants to show you off, and show off how much you two are in love, doubly if the ex is an asshole.

er hi i’m dumping my wol/fandaniel headcanons under the cut for the like 10 other clownlovers out there desperately scrounging for food in the frigid wilderness (NSFW / 6.0 SPOILERY)
Tumblr media
general relationship headcanons
between the apocalyptic arch enemies thing and betraying zenos’ weird crush (which fandaniel is 100% aware of), there’s something so perverse about seducing the wol that fandaniel finds very thrilling. he’s obsessed with the drama of it all
he thinks wol seems vaguely familiar somehow 👀👀👀 but can’t ever quite place why, which is alluring and annoying to him in equal measure
he loves when the wol is physically/emotionally vulnerable to him. he’s reluctant to be vulnerable himself :/
fandaniel tells himself he’s just in it for an entertaining way to kill time before the end… just being a <world class troller> as it were….. but as always, his is a soul that desperately seeks connection and always comes up empty with these hollow ghouls he’s surrounded by. so growing closer to the wol, who’s something of an isolated weirdo in their own way and can understand him to varying degrees, gives him feelings he doesn’t know how to cope with
like he’s made up his mind about the final days, burned all his bridges, killed off every last bit of hope in him… and then his enemy with benefits starts giving him butterflies? very frustrating. if he gets all moody seemingly out of nowhere, it’s probably because he’s feeling a bit too seen and he absolutely refuses to be coaxed back from the ledge. it makes him bitter, but he always comes crawling back to wol eventually. hot & cold behavior.
similarly, he bristles right away if wol tries to outright “reason” with him, he takes that as a betrayal of his trust
if the wol also has any unresolved past life fuckery and/or gender weirdness feelings bouncing around in their head, they can bond over that
as far as dates go, he likes to stay somewhat mysterious so most of them end up being impromptu visits
date type 1: fandaniel sneaks up on wol while they’re going about their day (usually in costume) and follows them around/steers them off track into distractions
date type 2: just a bit of friendly kidnapping! fandaniel has set up a scene and wants wol to play with him (a la “in from the cold”)
date type 3: the rare “we discussed this beforehand and agreed on a time & place” date, wol is mostly responsible for these and fandaniel expects them to produce entertainment! spectacle! to sweep him off his feet in a show of romance to make even the bards of eld blush! well, this is what he tells them, but really he just finds amusement in seeing what they put together to try to impress him. and sometimes their displays do happen to be rather delightful.
fandaniel is the one to kiss wol first, he’s eager to catch them off guard with it and see how they react
he’s an excellent conversational partner, charming, quick witted, and lots of fun to banter with
he comes up with ““subtle”” ways to show off his various talents (cooking, magic, dancing, etc.) to wol, smugly relishing their awe
wol can ask him to Amonsplain stuff. if he’s feeling charitable he’ll also tell wol stories about all the bullshit he got up to back then, but his retellings may be up to 70% lies and embellishment and they simply have to accept that
he’ll gush to wol about how amazing and hot xande was while they just sit there like 🗿 is he trying to make them jealous? does he genuinely not see the issue? the world may never know
fandaniel doesn’t really get jealous of wol’s companions (they aren’t a threat to what he has and he knows it), but he’ll tease them about it just to see them get flustered
remember that scene in the thavnair opening when u and The Boyz are gossiping about fanny on the beach and then u turn around and he’s just standing there 🧍 and the camera zooms in on him as he scampers away mischievously? well i think that happens to wol a lot if they’re dating him
he keeps quiet about his relationship with wol at first, but gets more brazen about it as time goes on, to the point where he’s openly flirting in front of the scions and even zenos
scions: he’s joking right? it’s an ascian taunt right? right wol?? wol: … 🥴
fandaniel likes cuddling and casual contact in private, that feeling of laid-back intimacy from wol’s hand on the small of his back or their fingers skimming over his hair, things like that
he prefers to be the little spoon even when wol is smaller than him, wrapped up and squeezed please
he also expects wol to initiate the snuggling and he has a very specific “ohhh you want to scoop me up so bad” stare that wol starts to recognize
his head goes [tv static] when wol just holds him close for a while, which is a sensation he greatly enjoys
he teases wol soooo much about liking him and how he’s got them wrapped around his little finger, completely at his mercy!!! however, if wol is honest about having feelings for him and tries to have a serious discussion about it, he’ll pivot so fast like “ohHhHhHhh twas not my intent to seduce you so thoroughly! do try to control yourself! *deflects* *deflects* *deflects*”
or “oh stop joking around, tis bad comedy >:(“ if wol keeps pressing the point. he is in denial he chooses not to perceive it
confessing love? in this economy??? yeah right
the more attached fandaniel gets to wol the more he’ll try to get them to come around to his point of view on the final days because deep down he doesn’t wanna be alone at the end 💀💀💀
Tumblr media
🔞 nsfw headcanons 🔞
despite his casual flirtiness, it takes a while for fandaniel to actually get horny. but once he’s activated, by god is he ready to go
loud in bed
i fully believe that his dirty talk is almost indistinguishable from the shit he says in duties, the “like a RODENT!!” “THE NATURAL ORDER OVERTURNED!” “ALL IN EXISTENCE BENT TO MY WILL” and all that
and of course his cute cackling
being pinned down is a big turn-on for him
he loves all sorts of roleplay, like roleswap with the wol, having them be his little science experiment, aforementioned science experiment breaking free and going on a rampage, etc etc
he’s very pleased if wol plays along while he’s acting his heart out
i also think it’s extremely funny if one of their erp scenarios is wol as zenos punishing fandaniel KFJCNSKALDNS zenos is completely oblivious to the reality that this is happening (oh my god he has no idea)
appropriate costuming isn’t necessarily something he needs to get into the rp, but he does enjoy dressing up whenever possible
also, lengthy foreplay that verges on edging. working wol into an incoherent delirium, or being reduced to a helpless head empty mess himself, either is good
he’s open to suggestions as far as other kinks go, certainly open to experimenting
the first couple times or so, fandaniel wants to be the one in charge, but once wol has gained some trust with him he can go either way depending on what they’re in the mood for
when he’s in the lead he likes to be all showy and smug, whereas when wol takes over he’s bratty but perfectly happy to follow orders if given (there’s an old familiar comfort in having the choices made for him, if only superficially)
he’s keenly interested in the idea of cozying up together inside wol’s body, in an ascian possession way, but with wol still conscious so that they can both fight for control while fandaniel gets to experience wol’s body & feelings as if they’re his own. sincerest apologies to the brain roomies if they go through with this though
fandaniel has both sadistic and masochistic inclinations
he believes in the romance of mutual pain; hair pulling, biting, scratching, choking, and cutting are all fun for him, especially if wol starts it so he can make a show of acting oh so hurt and offended.
he’ll give and take it, and even empty threats of violence can get him going if wol isn’t fully down to clown with that sort of thing
wol who has a healer leveled gets aftercare bonus points
fandaniel has a tendency to get manic during sex and ends up totally worn out afterwards. for just a few minutes before passing out asleep he’s soft and doesn’t have the energy for his usual antics… an ultra rare treat for wol only

there’s this streamer some friends and i are following who recently got into ffxiv and is going through the heavensward post-game and he is absolutely going bonkers taking notes of what characters say and the lore he’s presented with theorycrafting and speculating about the WoL and hydaelyn and zodiark and we’re just sitting here waiting to see how he’ll react to the shadowbringers lorebombs. i’ve been on the receiving end of that so being on the expecting end of watching someone go through ffxiv blind is so delightful.

⚡ What are your OC’s phobias? Is there any reasoning behind these? How do they calm themselves down after getting scared? What are they like when they’re afraid? Is there any chance of them overcoming their fears? (Wolfe) (and A'idan if you feel up to it) (and maybe Astrid too) (is all too much?)
Tumblr media
Explosions ever since one almost killed him in Carteneau. “Fortunately” for him, it damaged his hearing so he’s not as sensitive to sounds as he used to be but he still hears about as well as hyurs do so it doesn’t prevent him from jumping out of his skin whenever someone has the brilliant idea of making things explode nearby. Like firecrackers and fireworks. Especially when he’s tired or not expecting it.
Usually, beside being startled, he reacts with verbal aggression or long strings of curses. The latter is really just a way to calm himself down rather than something directed at anyone specifically. The former is his most common reaction when he knows you and didn’t like you already.
As for overcoming it one day... It’s a non-problem in his life, really, so probably never for lack of need.
Tumblr media
He almost drowned when he was nine so while swimming is perfectly fine with him, swallowing a mouthful of water has a good chance of making him panic. Not very practical as you can imagine for somebody who spends as much time as he does in the water but the way he sees it, the more he takes the risk, the more chances it has to just fade away with time. He’s a lot more careful about where he goes swimming though.
Tumblr media
It’s not so much a phobia (in her eyes) than common sense: morbols. Everybody should be afraid of morbols, they only exists to make people die in agony (from her point of view).
If given a choice, she’ll carefully avoid getting near areas where morbols are known to be. Otherwise, since she never travels alone, she’ll hide somewhere to avoid getting in the way and let adventurers do their job.
As for overcoming it, maybe when she’ll stop seeing it as common sense. She doesn’t really see the point though and well...Morbols are lethal.
(The rest under the cut because that post is already long XD)
Tumblr media
Phobia may be a strong word for it but he’s extremely careful when walking on frozen bodies of water. With the permanent winter currently in Coerthas, it’s less a problem that it used to be but he remembers too many accidents in which people in full armor drowned because the ice wasn’t deep enough to support them (especially not when fighting) that part of him remains wary when he needs to walk on ice.
As for how he acts when he’s afraid...Well, he’s constantly afraid so not really different than usual, really.
Tumblr media
WoL!AU because it’s funnier: red chocobos and landslides. She’ll do what she needs to do but outside of that, nope. You won’t catch her getting near angry birds put on Hydaelyn to kill you and she avoids getting too close to cliff edges.
Will she get over it one day? Probably not, but again: can you blame her?
Tumblr media
Solitude/isolation. Fight of flight instinct kicks in extremely fast and he’ll get aggressive, which for a man acting on instinct is already dangerous to deal with but one with martial skills... Basically the feral reaction you’d expect from an animal you cornered with nothing to lose.
He’s found ways to avoid being put in that situation again but unless he addresses his traumas--and he has no intention to--he’s not going to overcome it any time soon.
Tumblr media
I honestly couldn’t think of anything outside a healthy amount of fear and love for the ocean. His pirate career didn’t last long because he decided to become an adventurer after a few years but he never lost his sailor’s superstitions and respect for the ocean.
When afraid though, he keeps a cool head to think of something but he becomes a lot less scrupulous. He’ll go for the safest option for himself and what he wants to protect, regardless of what it costs other people. Once out of it, spending some time with his loved ones and meditating are his two “go to” ways to relax and find some peace again.
Tumblr media
Much like Skaar, she doesn’t really have phobias and tends to face her fears head on as well as tunnel-visions on what she needs to do to extract herself from the situation. She’s even less scrupulous than him though and she will make a point later on to remind people why they shouldn’t mess with her and what's hers. Whether or not she’s heavy handed in retribution is a matter of opinion but she’s an antagonist for a reason.
[Thank you for the ask @spellsandtales! All isn’t too much, dw. I’m always happy when somebody shows interest for all of them o/]

Flower Crowns!!! How would Estinien, Aymeric, Graha, and Alphinaud react to receiving a flower crown. Just our WOL acting so excited to put it on their heads. Maybe not the best looking crown but they tried their best. "I did it! It took fifteen tries but I did it."
asdfghjkl;!!!!!!
-
Estinien
Estinien curious at first, for you place the crown on his head suddenly as he’s getting up from a nap. While it’s unlike him to wear it, seeing your triumphant joy when you exclaim that you finally succeeded deserved a reward in itself. He gives you one of his rare smiles and perhaps his cheek will darken a light shade of pink. He’ll wear it if it makes you happy.
Just don’t expect him to continue wearing it in the city, though. Especially if Aymeric, Alberic or Alphinaud is within the vicinity. He will claim to have discarded it, saying that someone of his reputation and standing doesn’t do the soft and sweet, such as flower crowns.
Weeks later, while rummaging through his pouches for a spare potion, you come across the flower crown that you gave him albeit it being dried out. You smile all the same.
Aymeric
Honored and baffled that you would go through the effort of bringing him such a lovely gift. The flowers that you used are clearly not native to Ishgard, so the sheer thought of you going out of your way to bring him a present from another nation was something that has his heart soaring; after all, it means that you always have him in your thoughts even when his duties prevent him from accompanying you along your travels.
Regardless of whether it’s the ‘best’ or ‘worst’ seen, the fact of the matter is that you made it for him. Being the lord commander and viscount of his house’s name, he had become desensitized in regards to receiving gifts for such things lavished to him were always either political in nature or a mode to expressing another’s wealth as a negotiating factor in marriage. Seeing something crafted from the heart, well...
Let’s just say Aymeric isn’t one to take it for granted.
G’raha
His ears perk at the sensation of something tickling his ears and he reaches up to ascertain the reason behind it. When he realized it was a flower crown, he felt his heart skip a beat; even more so when he finally saw you standing behind him in his tent.
G’raha isn’t used to receiving gifts. His childhood proved to be a lonesome one, the nature of his heterochromatic eyes and his eccentric nature proving a challenge when attempting to acquire friendships. As such, receiving one from you (and one that you had painstakingly weaved together nonetheless) was as if he was receiving the opportunity he wasn’t presented to as a child.
When you leave, G’raha begins scouring through tomes with any literature on preservation. If there was anything that was able to prolong the longevity of an item, the Allags certainly would have it recorded...
Alphinaud
Alphinaud wears his heart on his sleeve and the moment that you place the flower crown on his head, his face erupted to the shade of mirror apples almost immediately. You have done enough for him and his growth, your stalwart and unyielding nature ever an inspiration to him and his sister both. To receive much and more from you, no amount of words would be able to describe it.
He’ll wear the crown for the duration of the day. Even if Alisaie were to tease him for the rest of the day and even if the other Scions or operatives were to give him curious glances, he’ll keep wearing it. He’ll show it off because, by the Twelve, he was so proud to be in your good graces. If his sister marches up to you in a slight fit of envy, he will be smiling in the background because he has something to call his own.
In the latter hours of the evening, he would bring books into his bedchambers and research. Research and study on similar matters of weaving. It’s only fair that, in making him one, he would return the favor, after all.

"What are you looking at, Garlond?"
“Oh, nothing. But for a moment I thought perhaps...a half-decent man.”
-
General. Specific male WoL Bas'ir Bahani. Nero tol Scaeva finds himself strangely invested in the Warrior of Light's tinkering.
Also on AO3.
Part of the 2021 FFXIV Writing Challenge
"That seems to be coming along nicely."
Nero speaks casually, but the words have a great and immediate effect. Bas’ir’s tinkering ceases and the frenzy begins with bristling tail and sputtering curse words. The miqo’te drops what he’s working on and flashes a paranoid gaze over his shoulder before realizing where the words have come from.
“Hm? Me? My?” Bas’ir pats his thighs and turns back to his makeshift desk to assess the resulting chaos of his surprise. At least one component has wound up on the bright, industrial floor. For some peculiar reason, he has taken to working in the Interdimensional Rift between Omega’s trials. Nero doesn’t imagine the location is particularly convenient for the boy, but what does a Garlean expatriate know about warrioring and savioring? No, Nero knows engineering, and that’s why he approached today in the first place. Vague, scientific curiosity and nothing more.
“Some manner of converter,” Nero says, more than asks. He’s holding a cup of coffee at his lips and squinting, his other hand on his hip. “Have you taken inspiration from—”
“I have.” Bas’ir collects the tiny silver cube from the floor and sets it back on his desk with a clink. A hint of pride colors the curl of his lips as he turns to face the senior engineer. “Of course I have.”
“Of course.”
“Of course!” Bas’ir folds his hands in his lap. The Warrior is wearing his daily arm; in the past, Nero has seen him switch out the elegant prosthetic for a more precision-oriented model. Something clunkier, louder, impossible to hide beneath a pair of gloves. But Bas’ir isn’t wearing his gloves right now, either. The metal digits of his left hand are bare for the world—or at least for Nero—to see.
Nero sips his coffee. Those digits used to look far more mechanical and move with far less grace. “And what designs do you have for this inspired technology?”
“My goal here is to achieve...to enhance sensation, rather" Bas'ir says with a nod of his head. "And for that, I will need more power at any given moment. My current system affords me little with which to explore less essential functionality."
“Bolstering your reserves, then?” Nero gestures to a mess of thread-thin wires at the edge of the desk. If he has the right of it (and surely Nero tol Scaeva does) Bas’ir is taking a simple trick used by mammeteers and making it much more complicated. Instead of powering the arm with his own energy, he’ll be adding an additional source of fuel to be drawn upon.
“Indeed. More ceruleum to supplement what aether I can reasonably provide.” Bas’ir follows Nero’s gaze and fishes aimlessly for the wires, runs his thumb of flesh over the bunch. At his backside, his tail swishes back and forth, like he’s waiting for something to happen. Both of his ears are perked up and trained on the Garlean.
“Hm.” It will probably work, but Nero lets this go unsaid. With an eyebrow raised, he waves his hand and prepares to take his leave. “You and your aether! Carry on, Bas’ir.” He walks away, headed for his own little workshop in the Rift, where a journal full of recent observations waits to be annotated.
These days spent with Cid’s ragtag bunch of heroes, mechanics, and dreamers have been scientifically compelling, emotionally tolerable. Nero likes playing the villain to his old rival’s stalwart, pioneering image. There’s a spark of glory in pessimistic nagging, although Nero would certainly never verbalize such an admission. In some ways, he has come to enjoy being proven wrong. He has come to enjoy being reacted to, for better or worse. Some of these people make him feel more important, more valued than his Garlean superiors ever did.
Surely this thought pattern is merely a symptom of him needing more coffee, he thinks. He takes a sip and settles into his seat, thumbing at the journal without opening it.
Whirring and buzzing sounds drift from Bas’ir’s table to Nero’s side of the room. Yes, the boy’s plan should work, Nero reckons. Ceruleum may not come so naturally as the body’s pure aether, but should the Warrior find himself lacking for fuel, he will more or less be able to operate without great sacrifice. The arm will move, even if its master cannot pluck two pages apart without keeping an eye on those unfeeling mechanical fingers. The modification shall not pose much hazard to the realm’s apparent savior. The world can rest easy.
But can Nero? He takes another sip. He’s been meaning to clean up these notes for a while now, but his thoughts linger on that converter. It may be new equipment to Bas’ir, but it’s certainly not new to Nero. He’s built them, deconstructed them invented them. Any of the homeland’s machina would be littered with similar components, each a miniature version of the empire itself, collecting power and funneling it to the various places it needs to go. All budding Garlean builders would know how to install one and begin the process of transmuting ceruleum into motion, into battle, into war!
Of course, activating such a device can be tricky for novice engineers. The machinery is swift, efficient; it siphons well and siphons quickly. Normally, the faster it collects its power, the better, but since Bas'ir means to draw in part from his own body, there ought to be safeguards in place to ensure the damn thing doesn't take too much from him too fast.
Bas’ir would know these things, wouldn’t he? He’s been working with adjacent technology for the better part of two years now, loosely under Nero’s guidance, and under Cid’s when that isn’t possible. But what if the silly boy should underestimate the pull of this borrowed gadget? What if he gets too excited about his little ideas and winds up frying himself on his desk, or worse—frying that treasured arm he’s been toiling with since his horrible accident!
Nero stands and starts walking. “Bas’ir, a moment—”
The miqo’te looks over his shoulder with wide eyes. He’s got a thin scrap of metal between his teeth now and a web of wiring between his hands. Nero follows the lines to a large metal box, glowing blue beneath the desk. That can only mean…
“Ah! You’re diverting power from a tertiary source,” Nero says. “How responsible of you.”
Bas’ir nods three or four times and begins looking for a place to set his wires down.
“No, no! Don’t let the likes of me interrupt your experiments.” Nero waves his hand again. “Besides, I am very busy and have very many things to do. So really, you’d be interrupting me.” He turns back for his corner of the Rift, satisfied that no one will see the smug little grin on his face. Why, it almost looks like pride!
Someone does see, though—the worst possible person. Cid, who's been sorting through a supply shipment from Rhalgr's Reach, lifts his head in time to see Nero passing by. They meet eyes and Nero's smile disappears. Was it ever there in the first place? Yes, says the sly look in Cid's eyes. And said smile did not go unnoticed.
"What are you looking at, Garlond?" Nero eyes his rival from the side and shifts his weight to one leg.
Cid pulls himself up from the ground with two hands on a wooden box. “Oh, nothing,” he says. “But for a moment I thought perhaps...a half-decent man.”
Nero’s reaction, like Bas’ir’s earlier, is great and immediate. His head drops forward and his mouth hangs dumbly open in sardonic disbelief. This Garlond! For all his supposed brilliance, he must truly be dense. Nero shakes his head. "I worry for your vision.”
And he certainly doesn't worry for anything else.

rambling time :)
Hmmm I realize now why Urianger is actually leaving the party at this point. It’s to force Thancred to actually do something concerning Minfilia. He’s served primarily as her emotional support up until now, with Thancred... idk he gave her a headpat a couple of times. His optional dialogue there was “I will talk to her. When the times is right.” You dumbass the time has been right for an eternity.
Oh and now we get death baited again. I was genuinely afraid the first time that they really killed Thancred. He seemingly had enough death flags for it, unlike with Y’shtola whose apparent death came from nowhere. God... and the hiding his very soul stuff... I wonder if that’ll make a return later. Certainly is convenient, not to mention dramatic. But man this really was bait, he just like, turns up fine later. Kinda dumb ngl.
Wtf I’m tearing up about Minfilia prime again... god...
Oh... OHHHH I understand what’s going on in this vision now! G’raha is reading Count Edmont’s book, and this roegadyn man is Bigg’s descendant... Huh, that’s funny. Two of the stories from Heavensward got muddled. A hero rides in astride a white dragon to save a little girl... The WoL riding into Ishgard on Midgardsormr, and Vidofnir saving the little girl. Fun detail.
?? Did Emet-Selch just SMILE at the WoL? His eyes crinkled. Do his eyes crinkle anywhere else??? Nobody else even saw that I think it might’ve been genuine, even if it’s just to see that the WoL hasn’t fallen apart yet. Like, he smiles in other places. There’s the mocking smiles, and the one last genuine but sad one near the end, but I can’t recall seeing one like that.
Ah. I think this is it. He’s explaining the Sundering.
I love this line and the delivery...
Tumblr media
His logic makes sense. It IS relative, in this case. It of course doesn’t excuse the killing of millions and whatnot... it’s simply that the Ascians can’t accept things as they are now. A world without Zodiark is wrong. I wonder if they’d ever accept things as they are now if they weren’t tempered.
It’s silly that the game first explains the true nature of Ascians nowadays in some optional dialogue... the unsundered Ancients can raise fragments to become Ascians themselves, presumably anyone... though only fragments of the Convocation of Fourteen can rise to their respective office, through use of those... memory stones, or whatever they were. I’ll get back to that eventually.
Oh. You can also ask about Emet-Selch’s true name here, and there’s foreshadowing that you may one day learn... mannnnnnnnnn why do they have to kill him though??? The Hades fight is cool, though heart breaking. They bring back every other character, even Asahi to an extent for godsakes... The trailer, iirc, had a voice over from him so... maybe... maybe if we get more into the WoL being Azem... I dunno. I want to hope.
Ohhghhg I regret eating right before this bit with Vauthry downing... meol... ugghyhhh the noises this is awful I can feel my stomach turning :( That whole business... it’s not surprising the story moves past it quickly. Still funny though that they never outright acknowledge that all that was literally cannibalism.
Ah. AH!!!! There’s the line!!!!
Tumblr media
So... he recognizes Azem even now. Huh. And what follows... he thinks the WoL would have liked it, Amaurot or however you spell it. He’s being... nice. Oh. That is... a sly proposition. He’s suggesting that the WoL just let things happen, that if they survive they’ll become whole. Of course Emet-Selch would want that, to have his friend back...
And now we come to the silliest plot point in the expansion. Really? Just make a giant Talos? Just like that? Even with an entire nation’s people working on it organizing everything and putting together the materials and all should take an eternity.
Duuuude I hate Mt. Gulg. Also this stupid audio effect they have on Vauthry, the echo is too much it hurts to try and understand what he’s saying, even with the text.
Ohhhhhhh myyyyyyyyy gooooooooooood G’raha’s deception is so bad but... it still hurts....... and Urianger... this is the most intense he sounds in the entire game... that “Do not interfere!”. G’raha!!!! You idiot!!!!! Gggghg. OH MY GOD THAT’S HIS RING HAND! HE’S REACHING TOWARDS HIM WITH THE HAND THAT BEARS HAURCHEFANT’S RING.... UNINTENTIONAL BUT GOOD!!!!!!! And finally his hood..... god.... I’m gonna cry again I can nbarely type./.... his inspiratyion...... and HIM EMET-SELCH!!!!!!!! GGGGGGGGGHGFHGH NO. THIS SUCKS SO BAD@!!!!
Ohhhhhh this story is evil. That it should be able to make you feel bad for disappointing Emet-Selch....... I mean it’s true. You weren’t strong enough, and others pay the price.
Seeing all of this... I wonder if Endwalker will attempt to top this level of relevance the WoL has. Suddenly... they are the existential threat. I mean again I suppose they could if they let the WoL take on Hydaelyn’s power as Zenos suggests. I do still hope that happens.
Ah... and again his ring hand to touch Ardbert..... cute... Hey wait why isn’t the WoL allowed to have any real heart to hearts with any of the Scions. Let them be friends :(
... ... wh. Why have they said the same thing? Emet-Selch says to the WoL before they depart, mocking how the world would react to the WoL’s affliction, “There is no hope. We are finished. Mankind is finished.” And. G’raha says this to Urianger once he arrives originally, to convey people’s reaction to the final calamity that befell the Source. I... suppose... Emet-Selch was watching? But that doesn’t make sense, they discuss other information here he doesn’t know. It’s just to draw a parallel, then? Oh. I see. G’raha then expounds on it and makes it something hopeful.
Oh also. It would have made infinitely more sense for it to have been one of Cid’s descendants to assist G’raha in traveling back in time. I can only assume that SE knows their fans well enough to know there would have been a crowd upset at what that implies with Cid, with how much they play around with the rivalry between him and Nero. Very funny thing to notice.
I can’t get out of my head what must have been the WoL’s original plan to reach Emet-Selch... take an Amaro over open water, then just dive in and swim around until the find him.
Ohhggh... I love Urianger his apology is so cute... he’ll stay by the WoL’s side for as along as he is able, if they’re willing to forgive or at least set aside their displeasure... even if they’re a danger to those around them...
Ohh and Alisaie!!!! This is why ShB is so good they actually CARE about the WoL it’s so nice... Oh right, and Urianger actually acknowledges their poorly thought out plan and thinks it’s silly. I don’t remember this from the first time, that swimming that far would probably make them die from exhaustion anyhow.
I saved this as a draft when my internet was being stupid hoping closing firefox would help. It did not. Anyways i came back to close this up and also note. I have been playing GNB terribly wrong for a while now. You’re granted a bonus damage ogcd after every move of your cartridge combo, not just the last one. I’m so stupid I thought it was like, an option of which one to use, but no. GNB is confusing, the combos are like... barely combos you can interrupt them to do whatever and return to them later. I’m looking at the optimal opener and i can feel my brain melting how the hell do I remember this??? I mean I don’t have to yet, I’m not at 80, but jfc. Idk if I’m ever gonna be able to raid like, properly lining up skills during battles sounds too difficult for me. I have a pea brain when actually fighting things case in point that one raid where it makes you do simple addition and division. It made me think 6+4 was 12. It’s hard enough for me as is to not let too many ogcds drift, at least not too bad...
Anyways. going to keep playing but I can wrap this up.

I love your writing and I wanted to know how Aymeric, Haurchefant would react when their WOL has a nightmare. Maybe even Thancred as well if you have time to write it.
Thank you! And this is a good thought. Some spoilers in here to the end of HW.
Aymeric -
Nightmares happen, they’re the mind’s way of compartmentalizing events that have happened. He just wishes he could help you through them more than he can. When his WOL love has night terrors enough to wake him out of his sleep. Either whimpering or even a scream, he’s rubbing their back and kissing the sides of their face, talking them through it till they’ve woken up always speaking kind and gently. The nightmare that would plague his love most would be the events of Nidhogg!Estinien and the vault.  Some wounds do not heal. He has said this alot, and knows his love hurts from all the people they’ve saved and lost.
When he wakes up and sees his love sitting curled up and crying he’s pulling them into his arms. Curling almost around them to ground them to him. On days dealing with the PTSD moments, by carefully laying on top of them. He uses his body to provide comfort and develops ways to let them know it is him and not the nightmares. In the daytime he’s comforting them and has them curled up asleep in his arms. He comforts with his voice and actions. Helps them get through the terror and reminds them that he is there with them.
Haurchefant -
The events of the Sultana weigh heavily, being persecuted for a crime his love did not commit. Let alone them seeing the body of a dear friend. He’ll rub their back in the middle of their sobs, get them hot drinks to calm them down. Soothing scents they like, or simply hold them till the nightmare passes.
Any nightmare is taken serious, you face terrors untold and have seen things from the events of Waking sands to the fearsome beasts that no doubt haunt his partner’s mind from time to time. He’s an expert in raising your spirits back up with kind words of encouragement reminding you that they’re just dreams but your feelings are valid.
Thancred -
He knows when you are tossing and turning. He’s quick to wind his arms around you and hold you close. A few times he’s done it you’ve socked his jaw as you woke up or bashed heads. He treats every nightmare different. The ones that are just from the primals or near death experiences he soothes those nightmares with words.
The ones where you’ve lost people, friends, and those that meant alot to you both. He’s burying his face into your neck and holding you as you cry, understanding that you need to cry out the bad dreams and grieve. Thancred will mention something to Tataru and she’ll pop up in the morning with your favorite drinks, and snacks along with setting you down to talk with her and Thancred about your troubles.

Shadi'ra Amariyo
1. Shadi's anger is mostly proportionate to the situation. He doesn't like seeing people mistreated though and is sensitive to certain circumstances that make him react w more hostility.
2. Maybe not believe. He hopes? He really hopes there is someone out there for him whether it is a soulmate or not. Someone to ease his loneliness. He thinks it's a nice idea.
3. Bullies. He hates seeing the strong pick on those weaker than they are.
4. His happy place is a memory he made up as a child of his "real family" happy together in a modest home with a strong hearth". It was a thought that soothed him to sleep when he was little and at the "orphanage".
5. Maybe with Moss in LA Noscea. Her family unofficially adopting him. Future will be when Kokho finds him and brings him to his real family. Also when he saved Eorzea and finally felt like he did something right. Like his life mattered after all.
6. He was okay in the South Shroud with his caretaker but he wasn't happy because he didn't feel a sense of belonging. He ran away when he was about 14 and btwn then and meeting Moss when he was 16 were some really awful and rough years for him.
7. Shadi doesn't have money lol. He is generous with his friends but isn't looking to buy anyone's favor. He doesn't like others buying for him. He's been taken advantage of while drunk before so he doesn't trust ppl plying him with alcohol.
8. Before he was a rogue he was a scrapper and lost most fights so he has had fingers/hand broken, arm, and his nose.
9. Sometimes he wants to forget he had a family. It's painful to dwell on. The years in Limsa before he was under Moss' family's protection are also repressed often. I haven't gotten far enough in his story but there are definitely moments post arr that Will wreck his soul.
10. He remembers being about 4. His mother was still alive. He remembers crying and being held against her, and the warmth it brought him. He has not felt it since.
11. Quick to laugh, kind. Someone who doesn't make him feel less than. He's not got very high standards bc he's not been treated very well.
12. His first set of daggers given to him by Jacke when he joined the rogue's guild. Being allowed to join the guild meant the world to him and the daggers remind him of how far he's come but also that feeling of family and acceptance the guild provided for him.
13. His forehead tattoo. He thought it was a skin mark but it's ink and he has no recollection of getting it. He has on several occasion been very close to getting inappropriate tattoos in even more inappropriate locations. Moss' mom/Moss saved him every time.
14. Ear piercings. Tongue piercing. He loves piercings. He wants more.
15. A small humble home with a warm fire and a family that loves him. Preferably on the coast, but close, to a city.
16. He's a good cook. He picks up recipes really easily. He has very good instincts when it comes to timing and spices/portions.
17. Shadi is insecure about giving gifts, bc he never had much to give. He's definitely the type to poorly wrap up some money and call it a day.
18. He's actually really good at stealing and he knows he shouldn't be proud of it but he's so damn dextrous and nimble.
19. "he's weird and kind of annoying crybaby that talks too much"
20. "He's more intuitive than I would have guessed. Too intuitive. He's sharp." "He's a sweet boy with a sensitive heart. Cries a bit too much though" "He's got the makings of a true hero if he can stop holding himself back."
21. You name them he's got them. He's worried he's going to annoy or anger anyone that gets close to him so he kinda unwittingly keeps most at arms length despite desperately wanting connection. He's really worried he is going to end up failing as the WoL and become shunned again. He hates his thing eyebrows and that's why he started having moss draw them in for him.
22. Highest skill stat is probably speed. He had a lot of practice running out of harms way and the rogue’s guild honed that skill. His highest non physical stat is perception. To be honest even he doesn’t realize this but he has good instincts. Also a little bit of luck. His charm is hit or miss tbh.
23. Depends on the lie. He could brush off smaller lies or white lies, but huge lies, even if they were for his “Safety/protection” it’s like..how could you sit there and look at him and do that to him? It’s more of a matter of character and if he trusts you and you lie, you broke that trust.
24. Cold. He enjoys the cold. Rain or snow he’s not hugely fond of but he can deal with it. Heat kills him. The second he breaks out into a sweat he’s crying. Another reason he hates Forgotten Springs.
25. He is bursting to say it but never has, that he can remember. He loves Moss/Moss’s mom. But he never really said the words. He tried to show it with actions. He’s definitely in the “actions speak louder than words” dept wrt that but he’d love to be able to say it. And he will one day ;)
26. He whines and cries all the time about random stuff but he doesn’t really confide in anyone. He confided in Moss but she never really understood the depth of it, which is probably why he did it. She felt safe to tell things to. He’s too insecure to bare himself to other people like that.
27. Yes. He often doesn’t feel remorse when he’s witness “bad guys” die. When he’s killed in defense or for his work with the Scions. He will be devastated when Nanamo “Dies”. And Haurchefant, and Wilred, and all the people who die who touch him in some way and leave him alone again to deal with the pain of loss.
28. Yeah under his arms and his ribs he’s super ticklish.
29. He’s got an average pain tolerance. But he’ll start whining at the slightest pain anyway.
30. He wishes he could really tell Kan-E Senna what he thinks of her “leadership” and the horrors that his kind has to face in the Shroud on a daily basis because she’s too up her own ass to deal with the ramifications of racism and prejudice in Gridanian society and too “pacifist” do to anything about it anyway.
31. This boy can act right in polite society but he will need reminding. He’s gonna try and practically absorb his food. He’s a big chomper.
32. He created this version of his abandonment as a child that his parents willfully abandoned him and left him alone and that’s how he came into the care of Amariyo and her half-baked orphanage. Other than that, he’s confessed a few times and most of them weren’t kind in their rebuffs. Jacke’s rejection was kind but it hurt the most.
33. It’s not happened yet, but it involves G’raha Tia. :> Also probably Haurchefant taking him into his home after the events of the Feast.
34. Touch would really suck for him. He’s a tactile person but honestly hearing would probably be really bad for his profession if he lost it.
35. No he’s awkward and starts asking questions that are way too personal too soon.
36. He would ask Urianger if he really talks like that or if he uses language as a barrier to separate him from others.
37. He would definitely like to travel to the past to see how he got separated from his parents.
38. Moss and Jacke. Jacke saw his potential and helped him hone his skills which led him to becoming a Scion and helping take down the Imperials and defend Eorzea. Moss helped him be less lonely at a time when he was utterly alone and had no one. They both defined family for him. Later on, G’raha too will be family to him. The Exarch would probably be the answer later on bc of his influence in the past and then his fucking up his chance to finally beat Zenos.
39. Shadi never wants to be alone again. No one to depend on and no one to share your life with? He can’t handle it.
40. Asahi scares the shit out of him. He’s so fucking delusional and twisted he can’t comprehend that level of unhinged. Zenos scares him because the concept of killing is like a fun thing to him and there is something wrong with someone who thinks like that. It’s unnerving. He’s also scared of Raubahn bc he doesn’t want to ever be embarrassed in front of him. Raubahn is his hero. He’s also scared of Yda. She’s too dumb to be a Scion he thinks she must have used some evil spell to put on the Scions he doesn’t understand. She’s clearly a witch or something he steers clear of her.

I've been waiting so long for this- How would the light wardens react to a WoL falling into their grasp?
Silence would likely be surprised, seeing as how he does well to keep himself far from places where people would come upon him. The yearning for isolation is still powerful within the warden’s husk of a soul–battle would be unavoidable if they chose to linger, Silence’s voice a maddening echo in their mind, taunting in all the ways an audible voice can barely pierce.
‘If you so yearn to find me-’ the creature would croon, ensnaring them in both claws and gaze, both like the weight of mountains upon their fragile body. So soft, so warm, so alive. ‘-then here with me will you remain until I see fit to kill or release you.’
It wouldn’t be too difficult to keep Silence from spilling blood, if the WoL knew how to conduct themselves right. Though a creature who is far from remembering what humanity felt like, Silence certainly remembers the silly notion of companionship–and perhaps that’s all he’s really wanted since his transformation. A friend. A partner. Someone to care about again.
-
Indulgence would very likely have been expecting them for a long while, perhaps even being the one to tempt them close. It’s a game to him, in a sense, a seduction of the senses to entertain him through the bright, dreary days that pass him by in his immortality. Have you come to kill him? Vanquish him like so many warriors who had tried before (like he had been once)?
He would be most curious to learn of the WoL’s intent, if only to amuse himself in playing the role they yearn for him to be. The monster. The enigma. The fallen. The lover?
If they amused him well enough, then Indulgence just might be tempted to keep them, to let them play their little games over and over so he could taste the sweet feeling of their passion and yearning and life.
-
Bivalence would be like a child with a new toy. What’s this? Who are you to enter here? It’s a bad choice really, to be anywhere near him. To be so unfortunate to have earned his avid and cloying attention.
He’ll be both coy and clinging one moment and the other he’ll threaten you with endless darkness or something of a similar morbid nature, like a broken light constantly flickering.  Of course, he wouldn’t kill the WoL immediately, no, but it would all depend on their reaction to him.
He’s a sucker for someone who gives him attention. Unfortunately however, Bivalence is just as touch starved as A'dehn was as a mortal, maybe even more. Attacking him would certainly lead to conflict, but other methods of coercion might prove more useful…
-
Benevolence would watch (you wouldn’t know how but you would know she was) with a placid aloofness rooted in a lack of fear even as (if?) you fought. No matter what you bring to bear against her; your strength, your armor, your friendships–she had those once and they availed her none, they will do nothing for you either.
And then, once you were finally through, exhausted from fighting or perhaps simply giving up, she would offer a gold-clawed hand. In life, Gardenia was inviting and in this undeath she remains as such. She offers a gift, plain and simple.
“So much have you lost, sweet hero,” She would intone, calm and somehow kind despite the unearthly nature of her voice, “It is time to gain.”

I just found your blog and your Aymeric, thancred, And haurchefaunt headcannons give me life. Can I request how the “undateables” as I’ve seen them called would react to a mistletoe kiss with a same sex WoL?
I don’t usually write holiday-themed ask but this is worth a shot. Because of how the ask is structured, I do have a bit of a problem with the writing perspective.
Happy Holidays, everyone. Take care of yourself and eat a lot of good food. You’re all doing amazing.
Aymeric
Aymeric thought that he would be clever. It’s that time of the year again, meaning he’ll need to avoid as many doorways as possible. But a kiss from him, the love of his life? He was taken by surprise when he was pull down by the lapels of his suit to feel press against his own lips. His entire body rest at the touch tighten on the front of his shirt. His blue eyes fall shut as he presses against the man in front of him, taking as much as he could. He tastes like peppermint.
Estinien
The first brush against lit something inside Estinien. His lover pulled away too early. The kiss was too many things; too light, too sweet, too quick. The elezen doesn’t know what spurned the kiss, but he refuses to allow it to stop there. He shoves him into the wall, trapping him between a pair of muscular arms. The long silver strands of hair create a veil to hide both of their faces. Estinien presses one smothering kiss after another. He didn’t allow for even a moment of breath, gliding his tongue across his lips. When Estinien finally pulls away, the both of them were left slightly red-faced and panting. Estinien wraps a firm arm around the man and drags him home to finish the job.
Thancred
What is a better time of the year to steal kisses? Thancred enjoys sneaking around in the shadows, catching his partner with a quick kiss, before withdrawing. Yet for this time of the year, Thancred does everything to avoid a direct kiss. The lips would fall everywhere else; his chin, cheek, and jaw. He would avoid every kiss all the way up to the Starlight party. With the taste of eggnog on his tongue, Thancred allows himself to be caught at the bar. There he receives every missed kissed within a matter of minutes. When his lover attempts to pull away, Thancred will pull him back for a creamy kiss.
G’raha Tia
G’raha isn’t one to fall into a cheesy cliche that easily. He climbs a bit too high or figures a strange way to escape being trapped. Being caught under the mistletoe would fluster him more than asking to court his lover. A small kiss from the man that has him trapped in his arms turns his face as red as his hair. He hides his face into his chest, rubbing his cheek against the warm material. While his ears are pressed down against his head in embarrassment, his tail flicked back and forth. The miqo’te hasn’t made a move to leave yet. Perhaps he’s hoping for another kiss.
Cid
Cid found himself wandering around the shop to greet everyone until he was pulled into a halt in an empty spot. The nervous tugging of his partner caused him to turn around. The kiss took him by surprise, it pulled out a burst of laughter from his lips. He assures the other that his reaction meant no harm before pulling the other into an even sweeter kiss. Cid presses several more kisses to his lips for a good measure, completely oblivious to the plant hanging over their heads. “If you wanted a kiss, you could have just asked.”
Alphinaud
He blushes and stammers at the kisses as a deep red blush comes the tip of his ears to well past his collarbone. Alphinaud made some attempts to away, ducking his head to hide behind his partner’s body. His mind race to catch up to everything that just happened as the beat of his heart drum in his ears. A hand brushed the top of his head pulls his eyes upwards, allowing him to spot the mistletoe hanging above the both of them. With the red still in his cheeks, Alphinaud tugs on the shirt and pulls him down for another kiss.
Haurchefant
He perks up instantly. If he had a tail, it would be waving so hard that his lover would wonder if he’s trying to break it. To him, a simple peck wouldn’t do. Haurchefant demands another kiss, and another, and another. He’ll keep him there for a long as possible, the air around them becomes heated. After all, as long as they’re under the mistletoe, he should abide by traditions. So he kisses him, gently and softly then more passionate and faster until it felt more like a mashing of their faces together. Yet it didn’t matter, what mattered was they were here together.
Hien
It’s difficult to tell if Hien understands what it means to be standing under the mistletoe. His partner hasn’t explained it to him, and as far as he knows Yugiri hasn’t either. At least that would be a sound assumption of why he’s been standing under the plant for so long. The answer came as he is pulled down for a surprise kiss. Hien cupped the back of his head, quickly returning the kiss without a moment of hesitation. At the end of the sweet kiss, Hien pulls away to flash him a cheeky grin and slide his hand to his cheek. “I’ve been waiting for you to do that all night.”

making backstory for oc wol lololololol
headcanoning that my wol cyril’s limited dialog options and unexpressive faces (other than just the usual malra/au ra resting bitch face) is literally because he is very much head empty. no thoughts. autopilot.
this disaster lizard man has 1 working brain cell and its mostly focused on trying to remember who he is because he has amnesia. like. not even a magical divine trial “oooo let’s mess with this mortal and see how they react hee hee”-god caused memory loss, its literally just that he got hit in the head one too many times with some swords and axes during the battle of carteneau and got brain damage.....
as an au ra he can’t wear many helmets since au ra aren’t common in eorzea and horns not accommodated for like the more common miqo’te or elezen ears + before the calamity he was a penny pincher so he didn’t want to commission a blacksmith or armorer to adjust a helmet /make a custom helmet for him
so, externally, he’s just on autopilot mode smiling and nodding to whatever alphinaud is saying about the crystal braves, even if he would normally be seriously doubting most of it because he has like 6 younger siblings and knows that kids that age are really dumb sometimes, even if he can’t remember his family much.
internally, he’s very much a nervous wreck hoping that the scions and others around him don’t see thru his “stoic silent manly man hero” persona while he tries to use the echo on himself or something else stupid to try and get his memories back. lol. poor cyril. (after HW i’m sure that he’ll change his mind abt keeping up this facade and just come clean to everyone, or at least tell alphie and tataru the truth.)
sometimes he has mundane migraines that he claims are simply him listening to “the voices of the citizens of eorzea”/echo visions, but nah they’re literally just dear god this man has like 1 million gil bc the scions + adventurer’s guild + the 3 city states grand companies’ pay him well, please just see a doctor already for these headaches and migrains
i’m sure that when the scions go to the steppe* to meet xaela au ra, cyril’s siblings in malaguld will run up to him, being angry or crying “how could you run away from home to become an adventurer and make us think you were dead for 10 years???? wtf?????? mom and dad are so disappointed!!” with cyril literally just being “who??????? are you????” and the scions in the background like “cyril you never mentioned you had a family?????? and you did what now???”
* = i know vague spoilers abt the players eventually meeting xaela au ra in either stormblood or shadowbringers + the option for Othard is literally on the regular map drop down list + the legendary little sun scene, but that’s it please dont tell me any more spoilers since im nearing the end of heavensward and ive already accidentally spoiled myself thru r/ffxiv, ffxiv twt, and ffxiv tumblr lolololol thats totally my own fault for disregarding spoiler tags like an absolute fool please dont actually directly tell me anything anymore lololol

How would Estinien, Aymeric, and Thancred react to a WOL who uses some more nontraditional magic. Not exactly magic to use in a fight but magic that helps plant a grow, helps you find thingsnyouve lost, helps give you a good night's rest. Magic that makes you warm and comfortable. Magic that gets your favorite song stuck in your head. Magic that makes pictures in a book come to life. Ya know, magic.
Oh, I like this. I like this a lot. :)
❅ ❅ ❅
[Estinien]
Estinien initially thought that the notion was incredibly childish. The thought of using ‘magic’ in this manner was something that children exchange among themselves, or from parents to their own to get them to stop crying. How could such things help him get a good night’s rest?
The dragoon was pessimistic, but if it will get you to stop complaining, then he’ll listen to it. After all, nothing but nightmares have been plaguing his sleep ever since the both of you had fought on the Steps of Faith, since his failure that allowed his time sworn enemy to take over his body. The last thing that he wants to do is hurt you as you both slept because he would waken in a panic or lash out in residual anger from a lingering nightmare where a dragon’s talon was to pierce into those that he cared for.
Your magic, in this case, was a song. Regardless of whether it had any actual lyrics to it, you explained there was a certain charm to song that worked wonders on one looking to rest their weary head. So, you say a little chant not unlike a prayer before you hum, before you sing soft notes as he closes his eyes. The sound of it was enough to quiet his restless thoughts, to tame the dragon within him.
Your magic seemed to be all he needed.
[Aymeric]
For being a dedicated lord commander to his nation, you find that Aymeric has the uncanny ability to lose things around his office. While most of the time it’s loose parchment sheets of documents he needs for the next meeting with the House of Lords—items easily found once Lucia would put her mind into helping her lord source for the thing—there are times when he would lose pens, misplace ink wells and even letters of introduction that he means to hand off to potential Ishgardian sponsors.
When you had visited him in his office with said occurrence happening, you smiled in his direction and lifted a finger to your lips. It was enough of a curious action that Aymeric stopped worrying for a brief moment to look at you and your warm smile.
“Here’s a little magic I learned, Aymeric,” you tell him. “’What’s in my pocket?’”
Aymeric blinked and inclined his head, eyeing you with more confusion now than anything else before you point to where the pockets of his regalia would be, small hand gestures and waves asides.
When he goes into his pockets, Aymeric felt something press against the fabric and, lo and behold, it was the small wax seals stamp that he needed to enclose a set of letters to the lords of each High House. The man flushes with embarrassment, wondering how on earth it ended up there to begin with.
[Thancred]
Thancred knows that you have an innate talent of finding things that initially seemed impossible to find. Whether or not it was a tiny coin in the dark or trouble that was uncalled for, the man has been with you long enough to learn that miracles can happen by your side.
Perhaps this is why he doesn’t question you when you said you had a trick to finding something that seems to have a knack to hiding away from the rest of the world. ‘A certain kind of magic,’ is what you described it. With the childish way you beamed at him, you were excited to give him a show and so he leaned back, relaxed and allowed you to do what it is that you do.
Thancred watched as you closed your eyes and held a hand out. He raised a brow, skeptical to how closing your eyes of all things would help you find something lost within the room. Yet, your placid smile was enough to keep him hoping, to keep him wondering, almost at the edge of the seat. As if he was praying that whatever you’re doing was going to work.
So, when you opened your eyes once more and walked confidently in the direction of the cabinet to procure the necessary documents that Tataru needed, without a single clue to how it had made its way there, he found that he was suddenly a believer.

May I please get how Aymeric, Haurchefant and Estinien would react to a WOL who’s not able to sleep? Thank you!!
oh, how i wish for the HW boys to help me when i have insomnia.. ;0;
===
[Aymeric]
Aymeric would offer to make you a warm drink, be it hot milk or honeyed tea to help soothe your nerves. Your restlessness is something that he comes to expect from a warrior that has experienced much and more. While it would take him a little bit to stir from his sleep, he will still reach out to hold you flush against him in his arms. He’ll brush his hands against the back of your head, across your arms and lower back, in an attempt to soothe you in his tender way. He will stay up as long as you like, talking about everything and nothing in particular in intimate whispers.
[Haurchefant]
A cup of hot cocoa and a confessional of how you’re feeling may be in order, but regardless of what you want to do, Haurchefant is more than happy to fill the void with his own words. If it’s the fear of nightmares keeping sleep at bay, he’ll muse about how he is a knight for a reason—to push back all the negatives aside and hold them at bay until you’re ready to fight it again. He’ll hold you close and stay awake until you’ve fallen asleep; even continuing to stay awake for an extra bell to ensure you do not awaken. Though, he won’t tell you that because he doesn’t want you to worry.
[Estinien]
Estinien isn’t much for words and is moderately hesitant when it comes to physical affections considering he’s built himself—body and mind—for war. Yet, it’s because of this fact that you know he knows not what to do that makes his actions more meaningful. Pets of your head to calm your aches, pulling you close to let you know you are protected at all times and soft kisses against your forehead in silent bids of love he isn’t wont to say in words. If he speaks, he will regale you short stories of his fumbling childhood in Ferndale long before the dark wyrm razed it to the ground. He knows you will not speak of it with another and if dreaming of his home and its sheep will help you sleep, then he will do what he must.
