also spell methodologies don't get talked enough about (imo) so here's a thing that's totally a thing:

the need for your own mind to be a flawless diamond of willpower and faith during any spell/ritual or the magic will fail

is actually just one spellcasting methodology

and you don't have to work with that system if you don't want to.

I sometimes work with that method and I personally find it to be very exhausting but fun to mess with. But there's just no way I could get my Work done if I had to do that all the time.

so yeah just in case nobody told you that you're allowed to be filled with doubt, intrusive thoughts, embarrassment, anxiety, distraction (etc) during spells and rituals -

not only are you allowed

but it might literally have no effect on your spellwork at all depending on the methodology you choose to employ.

for example here is a type of spell which could not give one heck what you've got in your mind, as long as you get down all the details on paper.

but if you're NOT going to fuel spells by directly burning your willpower like high octane fuel you gotta power them with something else,

so tbh just research some planetary stuff, go by day of week and hour of day if possible, match as many correspondences as you can, don't stress too much about the moon unless it's a specifically lunar operation, use agrippa's seals, solidify your exact intent into a written petition,

burn a fuckin candle,

pay whatever you promised.

Boggart

Because at 14, everything feels so long and permanent. Especially when the future is uncertain.

Honestly this was inspired by this post asking about your MC's boggart. I always figure that my MC's would fall into a more similar vein like Hermione where her boggart represents more of a symbol/idea.

When read up on reddit on Hermione's boggart was Professor McGonagall, someone pointed out saying that it's more of a symbolic thing when you look into it under a deeper light. With Professor McGonagall saying she failed all her classes, Hermione could get expelled from Hogwarts and get her wand snap. Essentially denying her from the wizarding world.

Since Hermione -a muggleborn witch- wants to belong in the wizarding world (when the muggle world rejected her), she is trying to prove that she deserve to belong in the wizarding world through her grades and by being at the top of her class. Hermione failing her classes could risk her getting kicked out and getting her wand snap. The McGonagall boggart failing her is symbolic of her true fear - belonging no where.

While Hermione a girl trying to belong somewhere and doesn't want to be kicked out, Iñaki is a girl who's afraid that she'll never go back home.

What's a more permanent way of saying you aren't returning to your home country by getting a passport (symbolizing that you got naturalized) of your adopted country? More about Iñaki "MC" Martinez Cariaga

community college is so funny because half of the teachers are like "For this class you need to use lockdown browser for all quizzes and tests. You need to buy this 70 dollar textbook, and all papers turned in must be in APA format with a title page even if they're only 500 words long. I will not accept late assignments. Also you have a minimum of 4 assignments a week." and the other half are like "you don't need proctoring for the final exam I trust you. here's a download link to a pirated copy of the textbook. as long as your writing is coherent and demonstrates an understanding of the material I literally could not care less what format you use. I can't figure out how canvas works so I'm not giving you due dates, just make sure it's turned in before the grading period ends. your only weekly assignment is a forum post with a minimum of 100 words."

It's funny how I use colour coding differently for different languages. Japanese is an orange-lime-purple language and I the colours denote pitch accent. Norwegian is a red-blue-forest green language and the colour matches gender.

Hey y'all! Do you have any advice for a nine year old who wants to make video games? Is there like a program he can use to learn how to do that, or a game that teaches programming aimed at kids, or heck idk what to ask here I know pretty much nothing about making games Basically, the kidlet I used to babysit wants to make his own video game, and has been (somewhat inexplicably) making google doc slideshows about it because he doesn't know how to make games but if there's a way he could that would be awesome! Any advice is appreciated, I seriously know nothing about this but I want to support him

recently I've been seeing a shit ton of discourse about Princess Bubblegum on twt and how some people kinda view her as some sort of irredeemable bitch who does not deserve to be treated kindly by marceline or anyone and like,,,though couple of pb's actions are certainly morally questionable at best and outright unethical at worst,, people must know that adventure time has like 10 main seasons worth of pb character plot right? and like,,,doesn't the whole "we were messed-up kids who taught ourselves how to live" verse from the monster song like literally sum up why PB was the way she was until she decided to outgrow that-

So I heard that Tumblr is slowly being abandoned (they seem to be laying off a majority of their staff and keeping a skeleton crew) and we might be nearing the end of this webbed site. I don't think it's currently worth panicking over, but I'm definitely going to start making that neocities website.

I'll make a post soon about other places where you can find me. Unfortunately, I've spent quite some time these last couple years getting rid of a majority of my social media because most platforms were bad for my mental health. I do not plan on going back to these platforms, so if tumblr goes down, I'm going to be only on non social media.

Maybe if one of the new social medias being created, actually take off (like bluesky or pillowfort or whatever else these days) I might join, but if not I might be entirely on personal websites, patreon (I will start posting regularly like a blog and make more free posts), some old websites I deleted but not because I hated them (such as ko-fi, which I deleted due to inactivity) and possibly furaffinity. I'm still on the fence about furaffinity. I might also finally start using my toyhouse but that is an oc sharing website and not much of an art sharing website.

I really do hope Tumblr doesn't go down, this is my one social media and if it does go down I am going to lose nearly all of my audience. I can make do by creating a personal blog and using whatever I have left in terms of "can post my art there and people can find me", and it won't discourage me from making my personal projects. I can make do, and I will make do, but I don't really want to make do.

Anyways, that's all I have to say right now, I'll make a post later once I set up some alternative sites to find me at, but for now I want to give the heads up that if I'm gone, you're not gonna find me on twitter, Instagram, or whatever third option there is. I'm likely going to just make do, be offline more, and likely just become active on the discord servers I'm on.
