Introduction

So, I guess some introductions are in order.

The name here is pareidoliaonthemove.

And in case you’re wondering why, it’s because I travel – a lot. You do that when you’re a train driver. And when you live 125kms from your workplace.

And ‘pareidolia’? It’s the technical name for when you see things that aren’t there, bunnies in clouds, a face in a piece of toast, and that creepy house that just stares at you – that kind of thing. I tend to see things a little bit differently. Not much, just a bit.

Also, my main hobby is cross stitching, which, if that isn’t a prime example of pareidolia, I don’t know what is.

I tend to have a lot of time to think, and not a lot of people who want to talk about the things I like to think about. And you see some cool stuff on the railway – and some stupid stuff, too – but I guess I’ll have a rant about that later.

So, if you want to read a bunch of random thoughts, maybe some pretty pictures, if the gods of smartphone photography are kind, you’ve come to the right place. If not, well, that’s awesome too, have a great day with whatever you’re doing.

So yeah, I'm new to Tumblr and I don't know what I'm doing lol sounds about like the rest but of my life.. just taking Tumblr one unsure post at a time, and life one day at a time.

No, that’s google.

It’s starting to become a regular thing. People come up, trying to use expired coupons on their phone. If they’re nice, the cashiers just give them a current coupon that’s similar. But no. They’re usually angry and demand that we accept the coupons because they’re online. 

Do you not understand how the internet works? Anyone can post anything online. And it kind of just stays there forever. 

I have a policy of not rewarding jerk customers. So when they start getting an attitude with my cashier, and I get called over, I make it obvious how stupid I think they are.

“well it’s on your website” 

“No- that’s GOOGLE...not our website.”

“but i typed in Store Name”

“You can’t just type in the store name and coupons. You have to actually go to our website...”

“i did that”

“No. you are on GOOGLE. you just searched the whole internet for coupons. You didn’t go to *our* website.”

At some point they ask me to find the coupons for them, and I refuse. And I don’t ask them to step to the side either. They can sweat it out in frustration as the line piles up behind them, full of annoyed people who also are thinking *idiots* because they don’t know how to use the internet
