honestly my ideal surprise hal scenario (not that i rlly think HAL hal will show up in the story) is that she just pops up out of the corner of his eye when shit inevitably starts going south. it reads to dirk as taunting, because hal is obviously smug about how dirk manifested her after all these years. he tries to control them but like hows that going to work on someone who's equally as aware of the story as you.

yeah basically so she's the only thing resembling a will to live he has. he'd have to put on those nodes like rose does for rosebot but like a portable version, "our plans are not in contradiction or competition, bro". anyways

When I first read Homestuck 2 I was really surprised with how much they reference Hal during Ult Dirk + Rosebot scenes... like boy

Ult Dirk goes on about feeling misunderstood but I think we know at least 1 person who would understand him. If Hal was there I feel like none of this shit would have happened... we need a Game Over 2 where they bring Hal back to fix everything
