Music For A Sushi Restaurant lyrics x all of Harry's House
And the older stuff a bit too
This isn't a song analysis (leaving links to Sushi analyses at the end), it's just goin hey this word here is also over there and I absolutely love it. Just links between songs. I love how Harry writes, there's probably a word for it, because you know this is a thing in music, but that doesn't make it any less fun and interesting to appreciate in Harry's discography. Basically Harry's House is full of little keywords and concepts that come back in multiple songs that weave the whole album together and I just wanted to explore that a bit, maybe in a way it's not a total mess by just taking the first track for now, Music For A Sushi Restaurant, and linking its lyrics to lines in the rest of the album. But there are loads of munchable ones between two other songs as well. Also disclaimer I'm not trying to insinuate all these are on purpose and you should try to find meaning in these links or whatever, I'm really just going words exist and then you can do whatever you want with it:
Here's the entire song's lyrics:
(Mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine), Green eyes, fried rice, I could cook an egg on you, Late night, game time, Coffee on the stove, yeah, You're sweet ice cream, But you could use a flake or two, Blue bubblegum twisted round your tongue, I don't want you to get lost, I don't want you to go broke, I want you, It's 'cause I love you, babe, In every kind of way, Just a little taste, You know I love you, baby, "Excuse me, a green tea?", Music for a sushi restaurant, From ice on rice, Music for a sushi restaurant, Music for a sushi restaurant, Music for whatever you want, I'm not going to get lost, I'm not going to go broke, Staying cool, You know I love you, babe, If the stars were edible, And our hearts were never full, Could we live with just a taste?, Just a taste, It's 'cause I love you, babe, In every kind of way, Just a little taste, You know I love you, baby
And now we're gonna pull it apart and see where it comes back:
Mine, mine, mine, mine
I guess you're all mine - Cinema (starting off strong over here laksjdkla)
Green eyes, fried rice
"Green":
Stay green a little while - Little Freak
Also Fine Line starts with eyes: "Golden, golden, golden, As I open my eyes"
I could cook an egg on you:
Hash brown, egg yolk, I will always love you - Keep Driving
Late night
Late Night Talking
game time
And you know the game's never ending - Boyfriends
coffee on the stove
Coffee // Mocha pot - Keep Driving
You're sweet ice cream, But you could use a flake or two, Blue bubblegum twisted round your tongue
Similar to how "you" is depicted in Little Freak and Daylight
I mean. bubblegum pops, you pop in Cinema
"Blue":
Just me and you, There's just no getting through, The grape juice blues - Grapejuice
If I was a bluebird, I would fly to you, You'd be the spoon, Dip you in honey so I could be sticking to you - Daylight
Stay green a little while, You bring blue lights to dreams - Little Freak
Blue bubblegum twisted round your tongue - Sushi
Bonus: leaked/HS1/FL:
I still taste the time we kissed upon my lips, swimming in the blue - Trouble
Same lips red, same eyes blue - Two Ghosts
You gotta see it to believe it, sky never looked so blue - Canyon Moon
But there's this sweet and tongue-tied/twists combos happening once in HS1 (+"Blue") and again in Fine Line, so this could be part 3 here:
Tastes so sweet // Tongue-tied like we've never known - Two Ghosts
Keep it sweet in your memory, I'm still tongue-tied - Sunflower Vol 6
Also Sweet Creature.
I don't want you to get lost
Maybe you don't know it's lost till you find it - Love Of My Life
As It Was.
I don't want you to go broke
I pay for it more than I did back then - Grapejuice
She said, "Love me like you paid me" - Daydreaming
(do i include this lol) A broken ankle - Little Freak
FL:
it's like I paid for it, It's like I paid for it, I'm gonna pay for this // money sounds - Kiwi
I want you, It's 'cause I love you, babe, In every kind of way, Just a little taste, You know I love you, baby
I mean the whole album is this a lot so do I even need to mention it
Tell me what you want and you got it, love, I want all of you, Gimme all you got - Cinema
So give me all of your love, give me something to dream about - Daydreaming
I will always love you - Keep Driving
Baby, you were the love of my life - LOML
Now for the "Taste" and older music.... Every mention of "taste":
I still taste the time we kissed, Upon my lips, swimming in the blue - Trouble
Tastes so sweet, looks so real, Sounds like something that I used to feel, But I can't touch what I see - Two Ghosts
I guess I’m prone to overthinking, I lost my taste for the good in us, I never call when I know I should, And I’m sorry, [Chorus] We had a hunger then, Only each other then, Coundn’t get enough when we started, Always a hunger then, We had a hunger then, Now it’s just emptiness, We were in love, we were starving - Hunger
I just can't get enough of you, The pedals down, my eyes are closed, No control, Taste on my tongue, I don't wanna wash away the night before - No Control
Oh, Anna, Don't know how you taste when there's smoke in your perfume - Oh Anna
And when I sleep I'm gonna dream of how you... (tasted), If you go out tonight, I'm going out 'cause I know you're persuasive, You got that salt, I got me an appetite, now I can taste it, We're getting dizzy, oh, we're getting dizzy, oh, La la la la la, You get me dizzy - Medicine
(I wanna taste her lips, yeah, 'cause they taste like you - Girl Crush)
Tastes like strawberries on a summer evening / I just wanna taste it, I just wanna taste it - Watermelon Sugar
Like the first time, Met you at your doorstep, Remember how it tasted, Looking into your eyes, Baby, you were still high, Never coming down, With your hand in mine - We Made It
Could we live with just a taste?, Just a taste, It's 'cause I love you, babe, In every kind of way, Just a little taste, You know I love you, baby - Music For A Sushi Restaurant
Just a little taste babe, And you won't let go of your hold on me, You kill my mind, Raise my body back to life, And I don't know what I'd do without you now - Kill My Mind
"Excuse me, a green tea?",
Already covered "green", but have "tea":
You're just in time, make your tea and your toast - Matilda
Tea with cyborgs - Keep Driving
Staying cool
Darling, is it cool, If I'm stubborn when it comes to this? / I just think you're cool, I dig your cinema, Do you think I'm cool too? - Cinema
If the stars were edible, And our hearts were never full, Could we live with just a taste?, Just a taste, It's 'cause I love you, babe, In every kind of way, Just a little taste, You know I love you, baby
Science and edibles - Keep Driving
"Stars":
Starry haze - Little Freak
I'm on the roof, You're in your airplane seat, I was nose bleeding, Looking for life out there, Reading your horoscope - Daylight
Satellite. Just, satellite.
Also just the wanting to fly / dreaming head in the clouds / off the ground / high etc etc etc it's basically in every song.
Aaaand probably much more (also depending on how you interpret lines you find different links especially when going for concepts and meanings rather than literal keywords).

I think Fine line is appreciated within fandom and is loved by us. Recently a harry page conducted a poll b/w FL HSH HS1 and Fl gathered 75% of votes. like fans knows it's more than WS(which is the SIO of harries). I think at this point harry knows how much we love fine line and he loves how much we love it. I expected him to ignore FL after her 1st birthday (like he did with Hs1) and was beyond shocked with the baby Yoda meme( I loved how new fans were confused about his quirky side coming to insta). This was despite the success hsh had. He is as attached to fine line as Taylor is to red(I think you made that comparison) and the biggest reason is fans. ERODA was designed for fans. He sang FL on this tour on 13th for fans. He knew we would freak out over meme so he did it. He has definitely seen how much we analysed everything and discussed theories regarding songs and how we freaked out over tiny little things and I KNOW he loved driving us craaaazyyy. So I think us loving it was more important to him than awards. So fine line is a direct link between him and us the way red was with us and Taylor. (As in it can get praised and loved after a time but the first and most important connection came from fans)
not to be slightly cuckoo bananas, but that post for fine line's anniversary meant so much to me and also felt like such a signifier of harry, do you know what i mean? harry's personality and humor, and harry understanding that link to us - even though he's not very active online anymore (understandably), he's still aware and tapped into the fans in a particular way (his story earlier in the summer when he got his lion ring back too). he'll still show his quirkiness and he still has such tremendous gratitude.
i didn't see that fan poll, but that's very illuminating to me, i might not have predicted it would be ahead by that much of a margin! i think the timing and everything with fine line contributed to its meaning for a lot of us as well. it captivated and held a special place.
eroda was SO much fun, especially being a brand new fan at the time, and i'd never experienced anything quite like that before!
at this point harry knows how much we love fine line and he loves how much we love it...I think us loving it was more important to him than awards. i love everything you said here, and i think so too.
COMPLETELY agree about that comparison between fine line and red, the parallels between those two albums and their meanings and their sonic diversity and their stories and their connections to us hits me hard every time. it's where that becomes so much more important than accolades, because as nice as that is, there's something irrevocable and TRUE in the love we have for the music and the way we share it with each other, and with them as the artists. we hold it so close and give it new life, and we'll never forget what that means to us, and they recognize that and cherish it right back.

Hey💋
I love your lyric analysis. Thanks so much for your hardwork. Since you've been already interpreting their songs, Do you think they ever broke up? I mean through their songs?
hey!! thanks so much, i appreciate that you like the analyses <3 my view on the matter is that they did have a break of some sort at some point, yeah! somewhere after 1d i think they had a tough time regaining balance and had to go out looking for themselves in order to make their relationship flourish again. this is just me basing my view purely on their lyrics. there's heartbreak in hs1, of a kind that still contains immense amounts of love and hope (or a firm belief) in a happy ending, which i think can only be caused by a deep struggle. change, grief, stress, existential dread... i mean that their internal struggles caused the relationship problems, i think. self-doubt, especially if your identity is so intertwined with a s/o you've had from such a young age, then naturally has an effect on your relationship. and i think walls offers a reply to hs1, making the stories of break/make-up match, imo. struggling to put into words what's wrong, finding each other again, apologizing, giving another chance. i don't think they were ever completely out of each other's lives, but yeah, i think they put in a lot of work to get through a rough patch or two. obviously, i don't know anything for sure, but this is what i'm getting from their songs, which i think is their most honest form of communicating with fans, and even the purest form of putting their own stories into words. especially since it's such an overarching theme and storyline in both of their work makes me convinced they actually did struggle, beat the odds and eventually made it, you know? i also don't think this version of events is sad or disappointing, because it's a story of perseverance and victory, of them choosing for each other again and again despite how hard it might be. because of love or whatever

here’s something you never asked to hear about but ill just vent here because there’s few other blogs who are open to discourse about their relationship:
there’s just one definitive thing that makes me unable to reconcile the idea of harry and louis being in a casual but complicated relationship. and that’s harry’s lyrics (and louis’ too but his songs are dated obviously). keep driving, a song about saying you’ll always love this person and wanting to keep going in this relationship together despite the problems. grapejuice, a song about thinking of this person and not being able to make do without their presence, even saying ur so over whites and pinks (which might reference being over ‘casual relationships’) and telling them to not overthink since they're always in his head. previous songs like sunflower/canyon moon/fine line all having the same long-term implications, and of course the multitude of songs that have the same references over & over which i won't even mention. im not going to pretend like i know everything harry is singing about nor am i going to apply meaning or parallels where there is none or try to make every love song he's ever written about louis. but i cannot just deny that the implications are there. the references are there. the patterns are there.
The thing about the song analyses is that there are reasonably clear themes and messages, I think. But I can’t reconcile them with anything we’re seeing in real life. People talk about Walls and Fine Line both being breakup albums - and I think there’s truth to that. It’s one of the reasons some people think a breakup occurred around 2018. And as much as I admit that the Larry evidence got a lot thinner after that point, it wasn’t nonexistent (I’ve talked about Louis wearing Japanese clothing brands after Harry got back from Japan.)
To talk about Harry’s House specifically, I agree that it seems to be describing a long term and ongoing relationship, overall. One notable shift from the previous albums (in my opinion) is that Harry’s House seems to be depicting this relationship in a hopeful light. HS1 and Fine Line both described serious problems, and there’s less of that on the newest album, I think. The thought has occurred to me that this album was written over quarantine. If Harry and Louis reconciled or reevaluated their relationship during that time, I think Harry’s House could be a reflection of that.
All this to say: I think it’s complicated. But you know me; I can never take song analyses as strong proof of Larry. Even songs like “Habit.” The interpretation is subjective. We don’t know what Harry and Louis had in mind while writing. We don’t even know what time period the song is describing sometimes - maybe it’s talking about an event in the distant past. Complicated. Just… complicated.

How is only angel sad ?
i definitely went overboard w this i’m sorry 😭 also disclaimer that i’m not, like, Smart i just tend to be incapable of accepting that generally things are Not That Deep :)
mmith starts with ‘i just left your bedroom’ / ‘i’ll be at the door, hoping you’ll come around’ so, he’s left ‘you’ behind & is struggling to cope w that (likening the separation to drug withdrawals?). in only angel, he sings ‘broke a finger knocking on your bedroom door / i got splinters in my knuckles crawling ‘cross the floor’ which to me, he’s gone from passively waiting at the door for ‘you’ to acting recklessly in ‘your’ absence until u return. so his obsessive need for whatever he’s ‘going without’ is escalating (dangerously?).
he positions himself as a powerless figure throughout the song – ‘end up meeting in the hallway every single time’ / ‘and there’s nothing we can do about it.’ he emphasizes his bodily precarity (?) a lot – compared to the ‘angel,’ he’s super mortal. he can’t help but being drawn to his ‘angel,’ he’s vulnerable & not in control of himself, even though he knows that the angel’s bad.
also: deception/secrecy. he’s lying to everyone else abt their relationship (‘couldn’t take you home to mother’), he’s lying to himself about the angel (‘as i went about my business through the warning signs’), & all the while, the angel is lying to him about her nature (‘well it turns out she’s a devil in between the sheets’). which to me is also sad because this song is clearly about Sex…but it is So Lacking in Intimacy…
& the upbeat music juxtaposed w darker lyrics makes the song sadder imo. it implies that although he’s aware their ‘relationship’ sucks, he’s still satisfied as long as he has (his only) angel, even tho it’s unhealthy. which :(
personally, i think that mmith & only angel are, on some level, addressed to his audience (us). how he’s grappling with the allure of (inherently isolating?) fame while still trying to form his own identity (where u could certainly make a genderly reading of this too). ‘open up your eyes, shut your mouth and see / that i’m still the only one who’s been in love with me’ is a v powerful line to put in an album after being in the Spotlight for so long, w a tonnn of v invasive fans who think they know/love you best.
esp. since imo, hs1 as a whole is about death, in some ways. he sort of ‘killed’ his previous 1d self & had to figure out: what next? who is he now? u know?? but i’m going to try and not be TOO annoying since this is long enough as it is

Hi, Gina!
So, something funny has happened yesterday. My group of friends are very hipster /artist tipe of people, Harry is too mainstream for them Bute they know I love him and they usually tag me in Facebook posts. Yesterday, one of them share the photos of Holivia in my profile whit the question "Wasn't he gay?", I was in my job and only answered that He is part of our community and I really think that this is Pr.
I didn't check my notifications until I was in my home, an to my surprise, there were a lot. That post started a debate about closets in the artist world, fake relationships, one friend remembered the time that I told her about Larry, and that ascend in how art historians like us need to make justice to all the queer artist in the past, and the "friends" that were partners and muses.
The conclusion was that Holivia is not real. Even my snob friends can see this! Anyway, now all of them listened HS1 to analyze the lyrics, Walls is next 🤭
Hope you're having a good day, I really need to share this because I think I started several people in the cult 🤯
LOL! I love that story. Well done!! Come back and let me know how the analyses work out. 😆

I can already see the articles that are going to come out when HS3 is released trying to guess which songs are about girl boss. You know what Harry, keep the album. I can just keep HS1 on repeat.
no because people won’t analyse this album the way we want them to 😭😭😭 it’ll all be about olivia and what songs relate to their relationship 😑

Sarah I loved that analysis of H songs! Could you please analysis the references to jealous H made in his songs? x
ok so! some of these are just regular analyses of songs because i realized i’ve talked a lot about the jealousy in his songs. i’ve linked those too.
***
i’m going through hs1 and the first form of indication of jealousy is in “woman” in which harry says, “i'm selfish, i know / but i don't ever want to see you with him”. obviously i think this is pretty straightforward. i’m your man, not him. same goes for this line a little later: “he's right where i should, where i should be”. i think we get the extent of just how jealous he is when “this thing upon me, howls like a beast” and this is a really nice line i think. the feeling is so intense, he likens it to the howling of a beast. i think that’s great.
the analysis of ftdt is here.
that’s actually all i can find in his first album.
***
i’m going through FL now, but still, the first hint of jealousy is in “cherry” and i did that song already right here.
alrighty. “falling”. harry’s jealous that he’s not able to stay afloat, and that’s he’s not the person he’d like to be. subtly, he hints that people are lucky to not change, because he has and for the worst. “what if i’m someone i don’t want around”. nothing worse than feeling like the world is against you, just to come to the realization that you also don’t like yourself. harry wants to be someone else, but right now that’s just not possible because he’s still experiences the aftershocks of this relationship and all he can do wallow in his self hatred.
also, i’m listening to this song and i think the line “what if you’re someone i just want around” is a lot like the concept of “tbsl” because in “falling” he’s still in the stage of the breakup where he wants the person in their life, but in “tbsl” he moves on to realize that this shit hurts and i need to stop hanging out with you.
i wrote about “tbsl” here.
next, “she”. wrote about her here.
“sunflower”! i think the best, most petty, most irritated line is: “i’ve got your face / hung up high in the gallery” and that is fucking CLASS. harry nods back at camille’s boyfriend who “takes her walking in his parents’ gallery” in “cherry”!! he said yeah he takes you to see painting and art in galleries, but you know what’s in my gallery? your face BITCH. im fucking ROMANTIC. that’s fucking awesome.
i like another reference to “fine line” when harry writes, “let me inside / wish i could get to know you” which is parallel to “spreading you open / is the only way of knowing you”. it’s pretty much saying the same thing: i don’t know you anymore. i thought i did, but i guess not.
here’s the analysis on “fine line”. that’s all i’ve got for now!

Will you doba song analysis for Harry?
There are many good analyses out there already. So no, no detailed analysis from me.
In my opinion— and only my opinion, Lights Up is not Harry’s best song, it’s not very memorable, it wouldn’t even have been a throwaway song on Icarus Falls. It doesn’t really showcase Harry to advantage (his body, yes; his musicianship, no). It’s so frustratingly vague and repetitive, simultaneously cryptic and coy.
Production value, as always, is high. Short song, so it gets lots of streams, counts toward charting (songs are getting shorter and shorter these days) for HS2.
Sonically it is a lot like what we’ve seen in Harry’s personal life since HS1. Lots of “Gucci.”
Oh... I should say this tune would be a good Bond song. Not as a ballad but maybe closing music.
Addendum: I’ve listened to it a bit more, and have more to say. I hope it’s not too annoying but here I go.
I actually like the song a lot, because I still hear Harry in there. I’ve lost track of who “Harry” is in the last year. I despise the Gucci outfits, the whoring out to mass media, the planned PR including every purchased celebrity endorsement, every inorganic celebrity connection used to sell an empire. I despise the Azoffs’ condescension to fans, their misogynistic, old-boy network selling Harry as both a sex object and a woke millennial. And I feel nauseous when fans try to explain this away as though it isn’t happening. What they’re doing to Harry, what Harry does to himself, what Harry does to his fans— is a form of commerce— a selling of a soul. Harry has stunted with Kendall Jenner, and what they’re selling is essentially the same thing, a celebrity fantasy. Fans can make their own decision whether to consume this product; it’s a free market and Harry’s got the sex factor. It’s not that deep. The video’s there, he’s beautiful, it’s cool. Consume it.
However, Harry has a musician’s brain. He hears music like a musician, and he writes what he hears. His taste and his ear have been consistent from Just a Little Bit of Your Heart to Lights Up. It’s an ear that likes a seventh chord built on the subdominant note. It likes an augmented sixth chord that changes the minor into a major (a sad chord into a happy chord).
Harry has an ear that writes a sad song into a different kind of sad song (with a twinge of hope and yearning)— a sadness that is able to watch itself “transform.” I hesitate to call it a self-awareness, because it’s more like an auditory awareness— an ear that prefers the hippy, harmonically complex, jazzy side of rock and pop music. His lyrics can be vague and banal, but the harmonic progression of the songs is always interesting to listen to. He writes essentially sad songs. It tells me that the variations of sadness are where his musical mind lives— real sadness, a deep and visceral type of loneliness (which is musical, not verbal). Maybe this is the sadness he meant in Rob Sheffield’s article. Sheffield is so far up Harry’s ass, who knows what he’s saying.
The musical bones of Harry’s songs tell me a lot about his intent, and tells me that there’s a real person inside. I still can’t see him otherwise; he’s gone from me (and to be honest, his fans are annoying as hell and I don’t want to deal with them). I do love musicians, especially smart musicians who have interesting ears for harmony. No matter how asinine they are in real life, we speak a common language. They read the same map that I do. So it’s good to know this Harry is still inside.

I agree with you on the hypocrisy thing. Let me say this first that music choices for everyone is absolutely personal. There is no reason to compare music by two different artists by the same criteria because you will definitely have a personal pref. But ppl in this fandom generally consider Harry’s music as the best , when in reality it’s just their pref. If you objectively analyse it with the same criteria that ppl do LP1, HS1 is just as problematic if not more. Because at least Liam was /1
very clear about the type of music he would be putting out. But Harry on the other hand has always ALWAYS been vague about everything. It’s just hypocrisy and double standards in the fandom at this point
yeah, like i don’t like hs1 (cause of the misogyny and i find some of the songs boring/too repetitive) but the fact that people are genuinely treating lp1 like it’s by far, objectively the worst solo 1d album when all of their complaints and criticisms also apply to hs1 just as much, if not more? gross

Kiwi x Pink Floyd
I wrote this MASSIVE post about Kiwi a while ago with so much so so much in there and yet I missed this. Basically there's a bunch of weakish links between Pink Floyd (PF) and Kiwi but the amount of it makes it definitely interesting enough to point it out. Basically, the more I appreciate Harry's work the more I see and hear PF (+ following @swimmingleo deranging about it al hey how u doin hi <3 <3 <3. I'm just copying your homework aren't I). You can read all about it in my #wish you were here tag, it's a strange place to be but I love it there.
Anyway, what does Kiwi have to do with Pink Floyd? In short, probably, if all this indeed is Harry repeatedly nodding their work, it's him identifying with the things they were dealing with, you know navigating the world of fame / fortune / hollywood / trying not to go crazy under the weight of it all. The massive frustrations within it. I don't have pretty words for all this but Leo sure has in the context of The Wall so do read all about that under analyses and PF tag.
Kiwi x PF coincidences:
The big boy highlights definitely are PF's Money and Another Brick In The Wall, nicely the big well known ones, because despite me being in a PF hole for months now I still am a lil dumbdumb who doesn't see much beyond what's on the nose here, or maybe that's just because he did only reference the big bois because they are.. the big bois, makes sense? Make sense.
The Wall
literally. The posts across his social medias announcing Kiwi was out were in front of a white brick wall, which is, the The Wall thing:
Tumblr media
(didn't even try not to steal that from Leo there)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But he's in front of the wall... With a kid... in a school... having a fight...
Tumblr media
Mr dark sarcasm in the classroom istg this lil shit with his lil shit smirk
Tumblr media
And let's steal some more from Leo:
Tumblr media
x
Money
Not on The Wall, but The Dark Side Of The Moon, PF's Money has to have been a huge inspiration to Kiwi. Lyrically as well as sonically.
It's got that that coke sniffing snif, that lil cha-ching, the none of your business, that's all very fitting with PF's Money. Money feels like an extension of Kiwi in a way, like it's elaborating that part Kiwi left unclear.
Tumblr media
Share it fairly but don't take a slice out of my pie?? Kiwi MV much?
So with this I think this money theme in Kiwi is has been much too subtle. I think it's a huge analogy a huge stabby mc stabstab towards the greedy fuckers, about having to pay for things not just mentally but quite literally with cash, or watching others get rich over your back, whatever it is, it's money, a business, a source of well.. anger. Of endless concession making, wasting your energy on the business side of it all, trying not to get fucked over and still getting fucked over, seeing people profit off of you in ways you didn't think was possible, seeing people change because of it, having things happen because of it, it being the root of all evil.
HS1 is in some shape or form some reflection of The Wall, of Pink, and Kiwi is right there taking a bite out of another album, or so it seems to me.
It doesn't help Harry has recently been seen in a The Wall shirt and even more recently put Money, of all Pink Floyd songs, of all songs, on his LOT preshow playlist as well:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's probably more but this has been in my drafts for way too long so boop post.

I try not to write massive think pieces on harry or overly analyse his stuff just because a lot of it feels too personal to prise apart with my own thoughts but the overarching theme in hs1 seems to be denial, in partnership with the acceptance that love is not what you see with rose coloured glasses on as a young person and as you progress through life, you understand that happiness is not necessarily the main emotion between people in a relationship. it may be anxiety of how long you can go on for the way you are, possibly infatuation leading to bad consequences or frustration with how your paths intertwine and diverge. there’s a denial of love being tangible for people in only angel saying “i’m still the only one who’s been in love with me”. that’s most likely not true, yet harry continues to compartmentalise love and certain relationships because it’s easier to believe that it wasn’t real love in order to preserve the hope of hopeless romantics and their idolisation of love (which harry has) whilst in juxtaposition of giving up on love and settling for what you can get

i don’t know if it’s just me ! but since the moment some music is out i agonize until i get the lyrics and what it means (which takes a long time sometimes). idk, it’s like a necessary to make it mine -in my head- to eat the song, and it makes me curious, how it’s your process analyzing them?
ohhh yeah i feel you! i always feel like i truly understand the songs and albums in their entirety only after i've analysed them :') (so now with harry's house on hold for so long my thoughts are swimming a lot (it's just bc im busy lol))
my process is to write down all the lyrics to get them all through my pen, and then i go in and analyse every word/verse and their possible meanings and connections. that's how i discovered most parallels and references in h and l's lyrics, especially! usually i do this for every song on the album first before i write any individual conclusions, bc i feel like that has the best result for understanding the total.
when i did that for hs1, fine line and walls i had a totally new view of the stories they tell, it's amazing. what's your process?

I repeat, Mitski is a het Harrie, which you admitted by saying “she might have a crush on him”. You cherry picked the quotes you used from her article, she showers Harry with praise and looks at HS1 from the angle of a het fan. That’s not the only thing she’s said about Harry either. She adores him and has spoken plenty about him in other articles and on twitter. I wasn’t talking about HS1 or analysing it, I was talking about Mitski and my point stands
Mm, okay. Mitski finds Harry magnetic and attractive, and he is. I still like her though.

i just can’t handle the pretentiousness. thinking you’re above everyone talking about song lyrics when there’s tags on your blog that go into detail about what you think songs on hs1 mean. it’s the “if this was really a bi anthem id expect more” and the “maybe he wanted to do this to see the batshit crazy reactions” and my favorite “i could care less about the lyrics” and it’s like wow! now you could care less. got it. i just cannot handle it. especially when it’s from blogs i once admired.
honestly. i remember the detailed analyses of hs1 where people were pairing the songs with who they were most likely about and with medicine it’s suddenly just a song 😂
