DID YOU KNOW VI WAS LESBIAN??? IN CLASS C????!!!!!! AND HER BF WAS GAY????? WTH WHY AM I FINDING THIS OUT AFTER THE YEAR ENDED!!!??????????
(Also wth is up with all the highschool 11-12 faculty having secrets and issues??? Our 11-12th grades could be an entire sitcom)
I know or heard the following because 1. I am either their favourite student 2. Because they said so or 3. Because some other student heard/said so.
Chemistry: Wanted to marry her boyfriend but her parents refused and there was nothing much she could do. Tried to divorce her husband within a year of marriage and found out she was pregnant, so she has been married for over 13 years with a guy she barely talks with (great parents tho they are) but there is a lot about the guy's family that she hates rather than the guy himself.
Maths: Had early marriage and kids. All kids are away either abroad or in another state. Her husband was mostly absent because he was in the military and now they're as good as stranger or 'friends that never talk' at best. (Not much is known of her life but we know that she probably lives alone and about 45 min drive away in the next town.)
Biology: Had a fking crazy life. Her mother married a muslim, had her but divorced because she realised she didn't want to convert. She grew up with divorced parents, married a muslim guy, guy turned out to be jobless and had drinking issues. Divorced. Married a Christian guy (also teacher) BUT the guy already had a family (that he got rid off while she promised to wait). Married rn.
Hindi: never fking got married after she and a guy from her own caste dated in her early 20s. The guy was probably a drug dealer and addict but he was rumoured to have become abusive. She tested him for five whole years and he lost his shit. She filed a case against him. Cried. Got him sentenced for 6-8 years. Got rid of her family connections at a young age.
English: has two grown men as children but acts like they are in their honeymoon phase. The typical wife that dominates her husband. Her husband is the principal. Often gets all worked up when someone mentions the principal. Acts like she doesnt care but lets be honest u know that we all know and that we all know that u know that we know that u know.
Physics: idgaf her husband could be an actor in the Hollywood and i wouldn't be surprised. She's beautiful too but looks unmarried if not for the mangalsutra and sindoor. Dainty lil pari thought we wouldn't notice but we did when she was all happy one day but that she was all moody the day before. HAD A KID ALL THIS TIME!!??
And don't get me started with the science students plz
20 students and we're singlehandedly disrupting an entire teaching staff of 150+ teachers— I mean how many students even know what the 1st grade teachers' name is?
The girls are notorious for being bullies, ganging up on other students, and yeah basketball too.

tune kya kar daala...
No one's pov..
Who know, that Niyati who came here to look after her dying grandmother which was the only family member she had..
Will gonna leave her too all alone in this world..
In the early 19s of India where the Britishers were bitching around and traumatising the Indian community the whole country was under them and they were making them suffer..
There was a fire inside Niyati to finish the British rule from India between those conservatives, those dirty talks about woman narrow minded people she still struggled for the sake of her dying mother who gave the little girl nothing but took a promise from her..
Her bloodied trembling Hands when grabbed Her daughter's tiny fingers she took a promise.
To free this nation cause it was their India.. a fire that combusted inside her mother glowed with all its strength inside Niyati.. and from those ashes ..
A rebel, A revolutionary, emerged not only for her country but for that promise too..
A promise which was made. And it will gonna be kept..
There was a fire inside Niyati..
She could do anything to full fill her mother's promise.
She never hoped for any love, any care and any attachments..
She always prayed to her mahadev and Vishnu to get her an understanding husband who would respect her and support Her.. she only had one wish..
In between those people she went to school, she studied and was more intelligent and smart then any other kid of her age ..
At the age of 7 she even started to learn English and got very fluent in it.. and Started to speak more better than the Britishers themselves.
Niyati was always that innocent, naive girl who just listened to others and obeyed her grandma's all wishes.. but secretly she wanted to attack all the governors and kill them.. but she knew she couldn't do that.. that is when her grandmother dropped the bomb, that she was getting married to none other than..
*Alluri Sita Ram Raju*
This name used to erupt butterflies inside tummy,
Ram.
This name used to make her body and mind go crazy..
She started to lose control over her mind and heart..
She never knew him, but the babai told her that it's her grandmother's wish..
And without any word, both not knowing anything about each other except their names..
He gave her the most hateful look, while tying the mangalsutra around her neck..
She had silent tears flowing from her eyes when he filled her hairline with sindoor..
She was overwhelmed by different types of emotions as she just wanted some love some care some respect..
Niyati would be lying if she Sayed that her husband wasn't handsome.. instead all the girls present in Delhi used to drool over Ram . He was so hot so handsome.. and Niyati was awestruck to see her husband's beauty..
but husband was the one who ignored her existence like she even lived in his house..
She performed all the duties of a good house wife, from performing all the house chores, cooking for him.. but never heard a word for him never knew if he ever exchanged some words with her..
The only thing Niyati wanted all her life was a good respectful supportive husband who could help her against those bastard whites..
But destiny had its own plans
Her husband was a police officer who served those English men.. he was the one fight against his own people it felt to Niyati like she was against her own husband..
She didn't knew Ram, but she hoped and knew he was a good man and he was doing all of this for a purpose she was never a person to judge anyone so quickly.. and her heart said that her husband was a good person..but her heart still never excepted that he was a traitor to his own people..
She was always used to get scared because of him, his.job was full of danger and never in the earth she wanted him to get himself any kind of trouble her breathing used to stop, and her diaphragm used to Stop expanding thinking if in between some riots, and his duty if something happened to him what she would gonna do..
Niyati still remembered when first time he came home, stumbling covered with blood from head to toe, how she was stiff at her place with tears streaming from her eyes like waterfall, seeing her husband's condition like this..
It was just after a week of their marriage..
Her mehndi clad hands were shaking, as she gasped seeing his condition he didn't said anything just took a bath, limping inside his bedroom changing in different clothes and closed his door .
How Niyati felt her breathing Knocking out seeing him all bruised blood stains on his uniform, fearing of his death, at that night she just sat near the Pooja room, near the shivalinga of her Mahadev.
Praying for the better health of her husband.. how she in the middle of the night sneaked in his room, with wet tears stained cheeks, and applied antiseptic and some turmeric to his wounds.. careful not to wake.him up.
How his aura used to make all the breath knock out of her, just by a glimpse of.him she could easily melt, her bangles clinking together as she tried her best not to make any noise..
Ofcourse being a newly married wife, seeing your husband coming home all bruised heavily any wife would get a heart attack, she wanted to fullfill her dream with Ram, she knew he hated her she knew he needed time to adjust and she did everything in her power to make him accept her.
He used to close the door of his home gym, and lash his anger out, Scream, yell, did everything to calm his raged self.. but the thing that pained Niyati that whatever she does whatever she can do will never gonna make him satisfied with her no matter what ..
She Just wanted some respect some care and happiness from a married martial life, but there was her husband who barely even take a glance at her or even talk to her..
She started to lose hope by each passing day..
She wanted him to talk to her,or atleast even ask if she is okey or not.
All he had to do was that his duty, reading journals and lots of books, writing and than eating nothing else..
She started to feel suffocating in that house.. her head used to spin alone, five rooms, with one living room kitchen the house had started to make her eat her alive..
She wanted to take care of ram, she wanted him to talk to her be the person he can share everything with.. his icy cold stares were reserved for Raima only..
Today wasn't also different..
Niyati somehow got to know by Babai, how her husband had the duty to make peace in the riot against lala lajpat rai getting bailed out she prayed to her Mahadev to keep her husband safe..
It's been 1 and half years of their marriage it's been more than 1 year, since she started to feel all of herself being filled by the feelings of her husband.. but now she needed a hope only one just one Hope to continue she was losing all hopes, she felt like darkness have slowly started to engulf her she had started to accept that he will never gonna love her or give any attention to her. but at this point she needed a ray of hope only one.hope to continue..
Animals can also stop hunting for their prey if they don't find their meal, than what can anyone say to Niyati, she was just a mere human..
The mehendi in her hands had started to fade, that she applied for Her first Teej, she fasted for him but he never showed up at that evening with teary eyes and a lump formed inside her throat she looked at her hands
as well as his name which was written in her hand, ..
Today she anxiously and with full of anxiety and stress, performed all the household work.. she even cleaned two quintal of rice, while waiting and chanting for Ram to come home safely..
The monsoon breeze, made some baby strands of her hair fall on her face.. but due to humidity she was sweating hard, her bangles clinking together as she rolled the chapati in shape, her anklets made a rhythmic noises, as she cleaned the whole house with the broom, wiped all the floor,..
Thinking of changing by the time it was evening due to tension and nervousness all the food which she made for Ram when he didn't came for lunch she put everything and didn't took a bite to herself.. taking a shower she changed into a simple Orange colour cotton saree..
Trying best not to think about something but the thoughts of Ram getting hurt were destroying her braincells.. applying some sindoor in her hairline.. and putting a small bindi between her forehead she took a deep breath..
"Hey Mahadev Ram jahan bhi ho unka dhyaan rakhiyega" she whispered to herself.. as she nervously touched her mangalsutra..
She lit the agarbatti making the whole house smell like heavenly as she did the evening aarti, black clouds had already covered the.whole sky, as strong winds started to blow..
She putted all the clothes inside the house,as the weather looked like it will gonna be rain.
Reading a book trying to focus on any word she was reading but her whole mind was on her husband she was so worried right now, anxiously playing with her mangalsutra, that had been her new habit she slowly whispered in a soft heavenly tone.
"Kaha hai.aap ram?" She whispered to herself.. suddenly the Main door getting opened made her jolt up from her thoughts as she ran towards the main door.. sighing relieved she felt like she got her breath back..
But her knees buckled up, and she felt like her heart stopped working the thing she was scared of, her lips trembled but she was not reacting her eyes were wide.
There was her husband eyes swollen and a bruised mark on his face blood coming out of lips.
His uniform dirty and muddy as he looked like he had engaged in a fight, Niyati felt like she had seen a ghost seeing her husband like this it's been a routine she felt like everything was like this always..
After the first time.since their wedding, he took a glance at her looking at her like he had seen something strange, like he remembered that he have a wife.. whom he has the responsibility to come home safely.. "Yeh aapko kya hua ?" Her voice barely above a whisper full of worry and shock.. he took a shaky breath going near the water pump, and spilled all the water filled inside the bucket over himself..
Taking a deep breath he looked at his wife, taking in her appearance, he is doing this since day 1, clad in a simple saree she looked simple yet heavenly and elegant..
He loved her appearance he fell in with her soul, but he knew his attachments will make his wife suffer too, his promise to his father his duty will not gonna let him love..
But he knew he was slowly loosing strings his veins started to pump blood like a bullet train whenever he saw her, she looked like the daughter of Vishnu himself, her lotus eyes were filled with so much warmth, care and love that Ram just started to feel and forget about all the concerns and care about the world..
Her eyes were so soothing to his soul..
Her voice was like someone had filled his ears with thousands of bottles of honey..
So divine, so soft, so caring.
He didn't know how and why he got such an understanding and.supportive and such a gorgeous woman as his wife..
He forgot all the emotions the day his family died in front of him all he had to think for was just his promise that was what keeping him alive, he dumped all the emotions inside his heart, and just started to live like a dead soul he cared about nothing but his duty.
But than seeing Niyati for the first time, he felt something inside him for the first time .. he felt like he got his breath back he couldn't believe that she was going to get married to him, he stopped feeling and care about emotions but she still never complaint about anything and always had been so supportive
Now seeing her trembling lips and tear stained cheeks glossy eyes, as her body shaked he couldn't help but could hear a noise of his whole heart breaks..
The sleeping pill that the doctor gave him started to show it's effect as he didn't had any control over his mind.. and his feet took him near his wife.
She gave him a worried and painful look, he took a deep breath and leaned towards her causing her eyes to widen and her hand to shake and tremble. But taking the towel from behind her head he took a deep breath his eyes again going emotionless and cold staring at her..
"Ram aap ko kab samajh aayega ki yeh naukri aap ke liye khatarnak hai?" Finally for the first time in more than one years she talked to him.. "mujhe nhi lagta isse tumhe koi matlab hona chahiye?" He said emotionlessly..
And as like always he slammed the door shut on her face,
Wrapping bandages on his hands ready to lash his anger out on the poor punching bag..
But more over angry at himself cause he knew he was hurting her each day everyday every second.. He hated himself for the reason of her tears..
But remembering the thing he had put in his mind he started to do what he always did..
"The less the emotions the more you get concentrated on whatever you want"
But right now he was hurting someone whom he had promised to never leave..
Again he again tried his best, he being the only one who has the courage to fight with those people and he did his best.. he did what he was told but still ..
Why would they choose some brown Indian over their white dogs? Ram was the one who didn't cared about his safety, not any white soldiers of them. He was the one to hurt his own brothers, to hurt his emotions by injuring his own people for those bastards who were ruling on his country..
He was the one who was doing this job to fullfill his baba's promise he was the only one who had the power the courage the ability to be the special officer he did everything he did his best to serve them.. but still they didn't chose him.. he still didn't got the opportunity he was waiting for.
He was tired,
Tired of living like this tired of being a facade tired of considered as a traitor by his own people.. tired of hurting his own wife?. He knew this journey was going to be alot harder than he had imagined but he had seen her..
People used to give him looks, cause he was a police officer who hurted them, who served to their enemies, he being one of them still worked for those whites.. but then he saw his wife .. she was suffering because of him.
Niyati being an activist was trying so hard to make people aware and make them active, but than being a wife of a police man who served them.. she didn't got much help because of him people were not ready to be with her or support her..
Ram and Niyati agreed on some terms and conditions that their paths are separated and they will never gonna intervene in each other's work.. he applied it in a way too serious manner.. that he even used to forget that she is also the one working..
They never talked about or shared any information about each other's work.. hell he never even talked to her this was far more away from both of them..
Sometimes he had heard people calling her names because of him, he could handle all of that being called by different names but it hurted him when she suffered with him too, but for once in a forever she never tried to say something.. and it amazed Ram everytime that how can someone be so good ? So patient? So understanding ? So supportive?..
This fire of independence, the fire of the determination to fullfill his baba's promise encouraged him provoked him to keep going..
And he wasn't going to stop anytime soon..
He knew this journey will gonna be alot harder alot deadly alot fierce..
But there are going to be a lot of emotional damage too.. many relations are going to destroyed completely, little did Ram knew that in upcoming future his and Niyati's relationship would either gonna break and destroy completely or they will gonna be enemies..
Hearing a soft knock on the he took a deep breath, sweat covering his whole body, and the locket of "OM" hanging loosely on his neck.. he wasn't ready to face the scene, as soon as he opened the door..
Niyati was standing there whole holding a plate of food in one hand and in the other hand there was a bowl filled with turmeric that she bring for Ram to apply on his bruises, she never touched him, it was one single time when he was injured badly and asleep apart from that they never even shared a handshake..
Ram eyed her, her eyes were bloodshot, her nose was red and he immediately realised she had been crying.. cause whenever she cried her nose used to become red, and knowing he was the reason behind her tears.. broke him more..
" Jin logo ko aapne maara aur arrest karwaya woh mere hi log the Ram"
Thats It, he could feel the floor shifting from his feet, it felt like he just got a jolt of 220 volts current.. those people and that protest, all of that was organised by his wife, great just great..
"Tumne apna kaam kiya aur meine apna kaam!" He said again trying to shut the door close but she held the door firmly in her hands, there was some kind of fire in her eyes which he had never seen before and it kinda scared him..
" Apne hi desh ke logo ko maarna, Jo sahi ke liye aawaz utha rahe hain unki aawaz ko daba kar jo gunahgar hai unke liye kaam karna yahi toh karte hain aap?" She asked..
Her voice so broken, so painful, so deep that Ram felt all the air getting choke out of his lungs, he felt goosebumps arising on his body, seeing the sudden change in the tone of her voice..
How badly he wanted to straight up yell about all the truth he was hiding inside him, he didn't wanted Niyati to hate him but he knew the behaviour of his will not gonna let that happen.. and sooner or later she will gonna leave him, his promise will not gonna let him leave peacefully..
"Tum yaha kyu aayi ho?" He asked blankly, clenching his jaw, trying to look unaffected by her words but she and he both knew that her words were piercing his heart..
" Aaj ka ke zamane mein log ek aurat ke peeche khade hone se jyada marna pasand karte hain aur toh aur un Britishers ko hatane ke liye kitni mehnat se meine itne saare logon ko ek saath laya tha lekin aapne ek pal mein sab kuch khatam kar diya Ram"
She sobbed taking a shaky breath not averting her gaze from him.. he knew how much she was struggling she was doing so much hardwork to fullfill her task.. and he was indirectly helping her too, their aim and their destination was same but their way of achieving it was different..
And Niyati so desperately wanted her husband to change his way of achieving their shared goal, and the cherry on top, Niyati had no idea that her husband was also doing all of that to fullfill his promise like her he had also promised to someone..
She wiped her eyes from the pallu of her saree, shaking her head, and went near him but he was just staring at her alot of emotions were dancing in his eyes and Niyati was unable to pick out any one of them..
"Unme se jinko aapne maara na ? Kuch ke bete the, kuch ke baap aur kuch ke Pati" She said putting the plate of food on the chair beside him .. " Tum yaha se chali jao" he said taking a deep breath staring at her glossy eyes..
"Bilkul yahi toh aap chahte hai mein aap ki zindagi se chali jaun waada karti hu jaldi hi chali jaungi" she whispered barely audible her bangles clinking together as she wiped her cheeks sobbing heavily, and ran outside of the.room breaking down completely her anklets making noises in that process as she got out closing the door..
But Ram just sat there with a storm building up inside his heart.. how many more.will gonna suffer because of this promise how much more he will gonna face?... Just because of these things how much more his martial life will gonna get affected?..
He just stared at the direction where Niyati was standing..
The answer is yet to be known..

I've read somewhere that Kerala Christians are the descendants of namboothiri brahmins and St. Thomas himself came to kerala and converted them. Is it a true statement? I'm not much knowledgeable about this.
Also, wouldn't it be better to keep ready cash, one of my friend's husband took away all her gold and since she was not given any money as dowry, she's forced to beg him for money for any personal reasons. Hope you don't take this as me trying to lecture you, I'm just looking out for a fellow woman.
So what you've read is what's called the "mythistory" of Kerala St. Thomas Christians, i.e., the "mythical history" - based on ancient oral traditions - of their origin. There's actually only a 50% chance the Apostle Thomas ever actually came to Keralam, not to mention there was another guy named Thomas of Cana who came to Kerala around AD 350, and it's likely everyone is getting these two people mixed up.
In amy case, there is significant historical evidence that Nambudiri Brahmins actually only arrived in Keralam long after the Jews, Christians and Muslims did (around 10th century AD, whereas Kerala Christians have been around since 4th century AD, and Jews MUCH earlier) However some ancestral St. Thomas Christians' families do appear to have descended from Nambudiris, because there is archaeological and oral evidence pointing to it. There are eight ancestral Christian families who are traditionally believed to have been converted Nambudiris from all the way back in the 10th or 11th centuries.
Also if I take gold I can insist on giving it back to my parents for safekeeping or insist that I'll be wearing it frequently (because traditionally married women of means in Keralam wear the gold mangalsutra on a gold chain, as well as gold bangles). Cash WILL be spent on family and expenses - that's how it's always worked in Kerala Christian households. It's why Christian men have always PREFERRED the dowry to be paid in cash and not in gold/kind, unlike Hindu Nair men, because that way you can get the wife's family to also shoulder the burden of the HUSBAND'S family's share of the wedding expenses, PLUS the Catholic Church can take their share by tithing the dowry. It's all a trick.

Finding My Way To You
PART ONE
Ram x wife!reader
@contemporarykafka hope you like it!
They say your first meeting with the love of your life is remarkable. That sparks fly, wind blows, and the sun is shining. But your first meeting with your husband was less than remarkable. Your uncle and Ram's babai had been desperate to get you both married, for reasons unknown to you (well, at least his babai's reasons, as you were well aware your uncle had been waiting to get rid of you for a while), and they had even skipped an engagement in their haste.
You had resigned yourself to your fate, but that didn't stop you from hoping that your future husband would somehow be loving, or respect you at the very least. That was the hope you had felt when you walked onto the mandapam, as ready as one could be when marrying a complete stranger. The man didn't even turn around. After a ceremony filled with too many rituals for you to count, the stranger next to you reached over and tied a thali, or mangalsutra, around your neck as everyone around you threw flowers at the two of you. You had been told by your cousin sister, Padma, that the experience of getting a thali tied on your neck was magical (she had married two years ago), but she had met her fiance a year before her marriage and had had a chance to fall in love with him before their marriage. There was nothing magical except the brush of warm fingertips against your neck.
After your circles around the holy fire, binding him and you to each other for eternity, you were ambushed by a swarm of giggling women who prepped you for the long-awaited yet much-dreaded "wedding night". You had been pushed into an unreasonably decorated room, draped in a white sari. You perched on the bed, fiddling with your fingers and unsure of what to do when the door finally swung open. Maybe you should've stood up to greet your husband, but you didn't give a shit about "norms". You stayed sitting as the door shut and you got your first glimpse of your husband. You had, of course, run through this scenario in your mind hundreds of times. In your mind, your first thought had always been "he's OLD" or "yech, THIS is who I just married?" but never what it actually was at the moment. Your first thought at seeing your husband for the first time was: 'Oh. Oh. Hot DAMN, that's my husband? Nah, bro, that's probably his younger brother or something. No way in hell I'm that lucky.' Turns out you were that lucky, as he sat down on the opposite side of the bed, removing his watch and setting it down on the nightstand. You decided to extend an olive branch. "Hello, I'm not sure if you know, but my name is Y/N, your-" "Wife. I'm aware." He cut you off in a tone more curt than you'd like. 'Wow, ok.' You thought to yourself. "And your name is-?" You tried again. "Ram. And I need to clear something up with you before it's too late." 'Oh shit. He has a girlfriend, doesn't he.'
"You're my wife only in name, and I want you to remember that. Tonight, we can sleep in the same bed to keep up the "loving couple" appearance, but once we move into my house you'll have your own room and I'll have mine. I won't have any girlfriends or anything, but I expect you to never disturb me or question anything I do, such as my comings and goings." At this point, you were so shocked you were struck dumb. Of course there was a catch. Your husband-Ram-seemed to take this as acceptance and blew out the candle on his bedside table. You propped a pillow in between the two of you and tugged over the comforter as an act of defiance and made yourself comfortable, vowing to yourself that you'd make this marriage as difficult as possible. 'He thinks he can just walk all over me and I'll still worship him, doesn't he? Let's see just how much he can withstand.'
A/N: Part 1 of “Finding My Way to You” is out! @manwalaage @lil-stark @thewinchestergirl1208 @contemporarykafka @gauri-vishalakshi @maraudersfansassemble @itsfookingloosah @rambheem-is-real @adrakchutneyofficial @darlingletshurttonight @seherie @redirection04 hope y'all like it!

Of Being in an Interfaith Marriage
I was brought up as a Hindu and I still am one, for all practical purposes. My husband was brought up as a Christian but I am not sure how much of a Christian he is now. Joining a Christian family in marriage brought along a lot of apprehensions in my mind. What would be expected of me? Am I supposed to go to the church on Sundays? Am I expected to join in the daily prayers? Am I allowed to still worship my own deities in the house? Turns out, much was expected from me but they were ok if I didn’t do any of it either. The whole family comes together only once or twice a year. So while we are together, I try to live up to the etiquettes expected of me.
So in effect, my life hasn’t changed much owing to my interfaith marriage. I pray to my Hindu Gods and say a Hail Mary every day after my bath. I go to a temple on occasions and visit a church on rarer occasions (which was the case earlier too). I celebrate Onam and Christmas with equal élan as it was before my marriage. And I call to my Lord as “bhagavaane” or “karthaave” like I always did. Don’t let all that fool you into thinking that all is hunky dory after an interfaith marriage.
A lot had changed for me on a personal level. I identified myself as a Hindu earlier, but lots of people just assumed that I have converted to Christianity because of my marriage. Although I do not face any issues in Mumbai, temples in Kerala, mostly stipulate that non Hindus be denied entry. I am a Hindu by my interpretation but I have not stepped into a Hindu temple in Kerala since my marriage for fear of being chastised for entry. I wear a cross on my thali (mangalsutra), which is too tiny to be detected but makes me feel vulnerable to scrutiny. Maybe I am paranoid and should catch the bull by its horns and face the consequences, if any.
Another issue I have faced is my comfort level with my “maiden family”. There used to be a closeness and camaraderie in my interactions with my extended family and cousins, which took a downward plunge after my marriage. But I believe that has more to do with the fact that I went against my family to get married to a man they didn’t approve of. I am neither invited nor expected to attend family events on my side because it always involves some religious event to go along. I wouldn’t say I was surprised by this, as I was forewarned by my parents on the perils of marrying outside the community. I had accepted my fate with a pinch of salt. While I gave up on the comforts of my family, I have been fortunate enough to be welcomed with open hands and hearts into my “new family”. In fact I have grown closer to my sisters-in-law than I ever was with my own sister. My mother-in-law seems to enjoy talking more with me than her own son owing to common interests like cooking, crafts and flowers. The extended family on my husband’s side is literally quite extended with more than 20 cousins and none of them have made me feel like I don’t belong.
In an alternate reality, I would have had lived a sequestered life in a marriage arranged by my family with societal norms prescribing my attire, my weekend plans and even my social media activity (an assumption made on the basis of observing my extended families’ and cousins’ lives). So in the balance sheet of life I presume I have ‘’broken even’’ or maybe even started making profits.
When our daughter was born, it was assumed that she would be baptized since her father is a Christian. A lot of arguments ensued, but my husband was adamant that we do not want to label our kids’ in any religious way. We even named them religion neutral (Alithea meaning truth; and Zaraiah meaning blooming flower). We decided to give them the freedom to choose their religious beliefs once they are old enough to do so. This doesn’t mean that they are living a life with no God or prayers. We have a framed picture of Krishna with a rosary wrapped around it that acts as our guardian angel. My kids know that their parents follow Krishna and Christ and they are free to follow either, both, neither or any other God of their choice. We believe in making religion a personal matter that needn’t be of any significance in their social, professional or married lives. Our brief but very enjoyable stint in China helped us further this thought.
They say love is blind. But it doesn’t make one apathetic or emotionally blind. I learnt this lesson the hard way when I got married to the love of my life, all by myself. While people reminisce their marriage with awe, love and unbridled joy, I remember the endless tears, being all alone in a stranger’s house the day before my wedding and the fact that I walked down the aisle without my parents to bless me. The presence of my elder sister, my brother-in-law and two cousins on my wedding ameliorated my distress a bit. I married a non-Hindu against my parents’ wishes and no matter how much time has passed, the pain of abandonment doesn’t subside. I am guessing it is mutual too for my parents as they might still be feeling cheated by my decision to go against them despite all the comforts they provided me throughout life. Could I have done things differently? Maybe. Maybe not. But I will always regret hurting my parents for my own happiness. I do not know how my future would have been if I broke up with my husband (then boyfriend) for my parents’ sake. Maybe I would have lived in the guilt of cheating on my boyfriend for the rest of my life or maybe I would have moved on. But it would have been just as bad as my current predicament of feeling constant guilt of having disappointed my parents.
Apart from the occasional phone calls, it took two years for my parents to actually meet my husband. It has been 7 years since that awkward meeting and still the relationship resembles a broken twine mended with a clumsy knot. Kids have enabled the smoothening of our relation; but for all to be well it will take time and effort. All through this, my husband has stood by me as a stoic pillar of strength. He has never picked up a fight with me about our religious beliefs. He vehemently opposed suggestions that I should convert to Christianity before marriage. He was most vociferous about not baptizing the kids. He has never pushed me even once to mold myself into an ideal Kanjirappally achayan’s wife (except for upping my ante in non-veg cooking).
Family is a good source of motivation and support when the dynamics in the family is genial. However, any bloat in the stability of familial relationships can lead to bad blood and even the simplest banter would feel like pointed accusations. Unresolved tension between family members can turn ugly in no time, leaving you wounded beyond repair. A mended relationship may not be a smooth one but would save you the heartache of not having your family in your lives for the rest of your time in the world. I strive to be a mender for the sake of my peace of mind and a congenial environment for my family.
P. S.: One good thing I have had because of marrying a Christian is that I don’t need to refer to my “periodic table” 😜 before I plan a family event. No more heartbreaks on missing events because of “those days”.
P. P. S: This was an emotional one for me. I started my blog around four years back and have wanted to write about this topic since then. But the subject always made me too sentimental to think straight. Once I had penned all my thoughts, reading through it numerous times was proving to be a hardship. So I left the proofreading to my ever so encouraging better half.

tum hi aana | self para
general notes; i took out some of the overly negative things about her self harm because i just didn’t feel right with that but hopefully this suffices for now.
When Kajal Malhotra had last seen her first love Devraj—he’d told her to forget about him. He’d looked her in the eye and told her that she should forget about him and everything they shared as if it meant nothing. He told her over and over again to be happy with her husband, to be happy with her future…if only he knew what was destined in her future. And for Kajal, more than the fact that he didn’t want to speak to her parents, it was the way he’d told her to forget everything that made her feel like she was nothing important for the man she’d married and given her heart away to. It wasn’t true though and she knew that in her heart of hearts. There were often times that she wondered if he even remembered her, if he sat there looking out at the rain, or watching a woman walk by in a yellow saree and thought of her, or maybe it was when he had aloo ke parathe, she just wanted to know that he still thought of her in a way—and yet, she would never find out.
But those thoughts were gone as quickly as they came. Devraj had been the love of her life, and for five years she’d gotten the chance to thrive with his love, she’d felt beautiful and wonderful and she’d wondered if he ever understood his importance in her life—it wouldn’t surprise her if he didn’t. After all, that was the only possible reason he could end their relationship and beg for her to go get married again. But didn’t he know—she was already married to Dev, and when she wore her mangalsutra or had sindoor showing in her parting—it was all in his name and nobody else’s. She may have married Aditya Singhania but her heart had belonged to Devraj always. But she’d done as he asked—she’d tried to live a happy life with this man her parents had found for her. Aditya was truly the perfect husband and while that should’ve pleased her—it only made her feel a bit guiltier because she couldn’t be his perfect wife. He respected her, and he was always patient with her but when she had moments of disappearing from the household, and heading out without a word—he’d still dealt with that despite her knowing how wrong she was in doing these things.
Kajal had gone to the hotel Devraj had snuck her into after their marriage, hoping to find his friend again, hoping to see Dev again but it hadn’t happened. Instead—she was left feeling like not only a horrible wife, but even a pretty terrible human being. She was married to someone and yet her heart still yearned for the man who’d been her first everything. Perhaps it was that negligence on her part that led to her losing that man, losing that amazing man who’d done all he could to give her a happy life.
She’d been five months pregnant, showing a little bit too when she’d heard the devastating news. Aditya Singhania had been in a terrible car crash and had died on the scene leaving her alone and broken. Was it her? Was she a curse to the people she cared for? Because despite not being able to love Aditya, she had grown to care for the man through the course of their marriage—he was a good person and despite knowing her truth, he’d still accepted her and loved her. Kajal had chosen to meet him before their marriage, telling him everything; how she fell in love, how she crossed a lot of boundaries placed on women before marriage and how she’d ultimately chosen to be tied to him in a type of wedding that had just them and God as their witnesses.
Aditya had listened to everything; he’d not said another word and chose to tell her one thing after she was done. “Toh? Yeh sab jaan ne ke baad tum badal nahi jaati mere liye Kajal.” And it was those words which had been her support through the course of their marriage, allowing her to even becoming pregnant with their little one.
But as soon as news of Aditya’s passing hit her—Kajal had been unable to care and support her child. She’d neglected food and rest, and chosen to do everything possible for Aditya and his aged parents. They’d treated her so well, that she couldn’t ever abandon them. Only once she’d miscarried her child, their grandchild, they realized her life could be different. She was still quite young and it was keeping that in mind that both sets of parents decided that Kajal should go back to her home, to live with her parents and so she did. She still cared for Aditya’s parents, tending to them whenever she could, and even listening as they told her she was still young and she should get remarried. She didn’t tell them the truth, that she felt she was a curse that no one should have in their life…but it was the truth. Devraj had left her, and circumstances had caused even Aditya to leave her…why should she subject anyone else to that fate?
No—Kajal Malhotra was destined to a life alone. She’d tend to her parents and she’d be the ideal daughter and daughter-in-law but she couldn’t be the woman she once was. Something inside of her had shattered. She’d lost everything in a couple days of each other and still—she cried over the loss she’d suffered over seven years ago. She cried about her loss of the man who had made her happier than ever before.
Kajal Malhotra was still madly in love with Devraj but she prayed for his happiness instead of her own. She prayed for his family instead of her own. She prayed for his love instead of her own. She prayed for him instead of for herself. She wanted to know that he was happy and living a good life. But she didn’t know if she’d ever find that out—not when he had eliminated any form of contact with her.
Well—not every form…she’d seen his brother; at least she thought it was his brother since the man had come to her, a box of in his hand—his name eerily familiar to what Devraj had said his younger brother’s name was. And every year there were always gifts on her birthday—but never any address or name. Even after she’d returned to her parents’ home, her in-laws stated that they found a gift for her on their doorstep every single year and they’d usually send it to her. Every single time Kajal had opened those gifts—she’d felt him, as if he was around her but he never was and she was beginning to wonder if she’d ever see him again in her life.
If it was from him, if he was the one giving her gifts, year after year, she wanted to tell him to stop…all she’d wanted was him. And at this stage in both their lives—she was sure he was married and his wife would not be happy with him constantly thinking about Kajal and sending gifts every single year for her.
The rains were falling once more and as she remained there on the terrace of her home—she couldn’t help but be whisked away to those memories, of their first time in the rain, of the time he’d come to meet her on this very rooftop and the debauched acts they’d indulged in. she couldn’t help but allow the rain to envelop her as if it was her Devraj’s arms—wrapping around her so tight that she finally felt at peace.

6 Mangalsutra Designs You Would Love To Flaunt
In an era when jewellery has become completely essential to create an outfit that is both fashionable and distinctive, Indian women wear one necklace as a symbol of their holy bond with their husbands. That’s called a mangalsutra. Throughout history, the mangalsutra's divine meaning has remained constant even though the pieces have undergone various changes.
As mangalsutras have become somewhat of a fashion statement in recent years, jewellers have created a variety of methods to incorporate various precious gems into the mangalsutras.
What is a Mangalsutra?
The name is derived from two words, ‘Mangal’ and ‘Sutra’. Mangal means auspicious and Sutra means thread. So, mangalsutra stands for an auspicious thread representing the everlasting bond of the husband and wife in holy matrimony. Mangalsutras are always special as these signify the eternal love and bonding of a husband and wife.
Here are some of the latest mangalsutra designs you’ll love:
Solitaire Mangalsutra
This particular design has taken the mangalsutra game up quite a few notches. Many Bollywood celebrities like Deepika Padukone decided to flaunt a beautifully handcrafted traditional solitaire mangalsutra after their wedding.

Gemstone Mangalsutra
Mangalsutras are made with black glass beads and gold beads. Gemstone mangalsutras are made with several precious gemstones clustered in a beautifully designed pendant, along with the black and gold chain. Sapphire, emerald, ruby, and pearl are some of the more popular choices for a gemstone mangalsutra.
Gold Mangalsutra
An affectionate tie between two people is symbolised physically by a gold mangalsutra, which signifies purity and sanctity. You can get a 14 Kt, 18 Kt, 22 Kt or a 24 Kt gold mangalsutra customised as per your preferences. The 14 Kt or 18 Kt gold mangalsutras are suitable for regular wear and create a more fashionable office look.

Diamond Mangalsutra

There are multiple mangalsutra chain designs available in the market. You can pair up your diamond pendants with a lightweight chain for a simple look or with a heavy chain for a festive look.
Tumblr media
Dual-Tone Mangalsutra
Dual-tone mangalsutras are the perfect match for you if you prefer something not too traditional. Dual-toned mangalsutras can be paired with most traditional to western outfits, and most accessories go along with it too.
Mangalsutra Bracelet
A recent trend in the jewellery industry is the hand mangalsutra in gold and diamond crafted in attractive designs. Nowadays women love to flaunt these minimalistic mangalsutra bracelets, often decorated with other precious gems. The mangalsutra bracelets have become more of a style statement now.
Tumblr media
If you want to get pure and authentic mangalsutra, make sure the precious metal you choose does not have a rhodium finish. Gold is plated with rhodium for a dazzling appearance and to enhance its shine. However, if you wear it every day, it will eventually wear off. Once the sparkle has disappeared, it must be retouched. Make sure to buy precious metals and jewels from an authentic and verified seller to get the best quality products.

This movie is an amalgamation of various artists of the Indian Film Industry. To start with, we have Kajol Devgn and Ajay Devgn as Savitribai Malusare and Tanaji Malusare respectively. They are the real worriers in the film whereas Saif Ali Khan as Uday Bhan plays a strong antagonist. His character plays against the man, Tanhaji. They show a great warrior spirit. The other cast members are Padmawati as Jijabai, Devdatta Nage as Suryaji Malusare, Pankaj Tripathi as Mirza Raja Jai Singh, Neha Sharma as Kamla Devi, Ajinkya Deo as Pisal, Sharad Kelkar as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and many other sets of talented cast and crew.
Costumes
Their costumes are very traditional. They are drenched in Marathi culture and attire. Ajay is seen wearing a white kurta and beige turban. The way he has worn the tilak and his turban is giving him a proper warrior look. Kajol will be seen wearing a saree. Keeping with the Maharashtrian tradition, she is wearing nosering, Mangalsutra, and bindi. They are carrying those attires very elegantly. They have triggered the audience with their posts on their social media channels.
Kajol plays a devoted wife in the movie who is always supporting her husband in all his endeavors. She always wishes him good luck and provides him with enough courage to act on the contradictory situations. Tanhaj’s song Shankara Re Shankara is already released. It has got thousands of views on YouTube. Its trailer has received around twenty-three million views. The personality of a warrior needs an attitude that Ajay Devgn as Tanha Ji has perfectly worn. This movie delivers a beautiful massage. A feeling of belongingness and dedication should always exist with family and our motherland. The movie is going to release on 10 January 2020. We have full belief in the fact that they will hit the screens with their outstanding chemistry on-screen.

| ussi ka ab le rahe hain, naam hum toh saanson ki jagah |
general notes: this hurts, and it’s also 1600+ words.
Had it been days? Or weeks? She couldn’t even recall the exact moment she’d lost her heart but all Kajal Malhotra knew was that her heart was gone. Whether Devraj Sharma wanted it or not, it was his. She was his bride, even if it was all in name and so he owned every part of her, even if he didn’t want her anymore. All through her life, Kajal had prided herself on being the good girl, the well-behaved girl and then she’d met Devraj and all of that had faded away. She’d done everything she’d have otherwise never done. She’d stayed with him for long hours, she’d lied to her parents, she’d had him inside her home for a weekend with no supervision, she’d allowed him to ravish her because of how badly she’d missed him, and she’d married him with no witnesses except God. Aur ab wohi shaadi sirf Kajal ki yaad mein rahegi.
Who was she to him now? Just another name? Just a girl he’d met once? Did he even think about her? Or was she just going to remain a name in his past. It was right that way, wasn’t it? Kajal’s entire life had changed and he’d move on. Except even thinking that caused a strange pain to stab at her heart. Despite everything that had happened in their last meeting, her Devraj loved her. He wouldn’t have been with her if he didn’t. The way he looked every single time there were tears in her eyes—no one could fake that. Devraj Sharma was in love with her but for some unknown reason he decide it didn’t matter anymore. Kajal sat there on the terrace of her home, her feet dangling over the railing as she stared down at her beloved city underneath her. How easy it had been to fall in love with him? To have him climb a ladder and meet her here in the dead of the night? Would it be just as easy to let herself all from this terrace? To take her mother’s sleeping pills? To lock herself in the kitchen and light herself on fire? Was it really that easy to find death? Perhaps it was, and yet—she knew her heart wouldn’t let her do it. Maybe Devraj didn't want her anymore, but her heart still belonged to him and so it wouldn’t let her do anything to harm herself.
Her name was being called and she turned to see her grandmother making her way to the younger woman. Kajal hastily wiped at her tears before facing the elder with a smile. “Kab tak yeh aansoon chupane ka iraada hai tumhara Kajal? Tumhe kya lagta hai, maine kuch dekha nahi hai kya? Tum kahogi nahi ke baat kya hai toh main tumhari madat kaise kar sakthi hoon meri bachi?” And perhaps that was all the comfort Kajal needed today to let herself fall to the ground of the terrace, her head buried in her nani’s lap. Could she tell her everything? Could she actually admit what she’d done? Could her family ever look at her the same if she did? At this point though, she knew it didn’t matter. If her family disowned her, at least the impending shaadi would be off. And so she told her everything. She told her how she’d met this man over five years ago. She told him what Devraj had done for her in that first meeting. She told her how they'd kept meeting. She told her nani how Devraj would call her up every time he was back in Dilli, how he’d managed to steal her heart away. And then she told her how Kajal had brought him into their home, how she’d given up a part of herself to him, a piece of her that she’d never recover, a part of her that her husband would’ve wanted to claim. She waited then, for the slap that was to come, she knew it would--but instead it came from someone else.
Her mother’s palm collided with Kajal’s cheek and while it stung from the pain, she couldn’t cry. Perhaps now even her tears were only his. She stared up at her mother as she yelled at her, as she called her names, as she said her daughter was a worthless woman now, someone who’d allowed another stranger to touch her in ways only her husband was allowed and that’s when the words came tumbling out of her mouth. “Humne shaadi bhi ki hai, mandir mein…” And the tears came from both the women listening to her story. She heard them ask if he’d married her, then why was she sitting here in this house and for once—Kajal had nothing left to say. How could she? Devraj had rendered her completely speechless this time. All she could do is stare up at her mother. She told her how when she’d gone to tell him about this impending marriage, that Devraj had backtracked, deciding it was best for her to marry him. “Maine socha tha—ke woh yahaan aayega, aap sab se milne, mera haath maangne, lekin woh toh—mujhe chod ke chala gaya. Sab kuch barbaad karke woh chala gaya…”
And maybe it was thanks to her grandmother, but the elder woman’s arms came around her and Kajal felt herself begin to cry once more as she held the woman close. “Main shaadi karungi Maa, aap jise kehti hai, usse—lekin pehle mein sab kuch saach bataungi, uske baad agar woh shaadi karna chahe, toh theek hai, warna nahi.” She knew she had no right to make these conditions, but it was a matter of her life and she heard her grandmother’s support and knew her mother would have to relent just like her father. Kajal didn’t know how long she lay there in the elder woman’s lap, but the sky had changed from it's bright blue shade to being pitch black as they both remained there, Kajal crying for her past, and her grandmother crying as well—but Kajal wondered if it was for her past or even the future that Kajal had willingly agreed to resign herself to. She was going to be married to someone she didn't love, but wasn't that the fate of every Indian woman? She wasn’t any different, the only difference was she planned on telling her to-be husband everything about Devraj without his name—allowing him to know that she too had a past—one that he might not appreciate.
——
Kajal sat in Aditya’s bedroom; her hands covered in mehndi, her arms adorned with bangles, necklaces around her neck, her mangalsutra there too, but there was one more thing—that thankfully every missed. She still wore Devraj’s pendant. Was it wrong? Perhaps. But at this point she didn't care. She was Devraj’s patni first and foremost and since Aditya Singhania hadn’t seen anything wrong with her confessions—here she was, married to him. It was a painful realization to know that whatever had been happening for the last few weeks and months hadn’t been just a dream. She had spent every night awake, praying to be greeting in the morning with a new reality but that was wishful thinking and at this stage in her life, she wasn’t allowed to have wishes, dreams or hopes of any type. She was now to be Kajal Singhania, married to a lawyer, and be the adarsh patni he wanted. She could do it. She had wanted to do it for Devraj as well but if he didn’t want her, she couldn't keep grasping onto her past.
Kajal thought this would be easy, getting married to a stranger, being his wife, being in his life and yet at every single turn—her mind was on Devraj Sharma, a man who probably didn’t even think of her. After all, he’d asked for her to forget him, hadn’t he? Wanting her to be a good wife to her husband. That was what she’d ultimately do. She’d be the best way to Aditya Singhania. But she wouldn’t love him. She couldn’t. All her love had belonged to Devraj Sharma and Kajal was empty now. She’d smile, her dimples would show, but that was all hollow, she was empty inside. That man had stolen away everything good about her and while he hadn’t wanted to take it with him, he had—ultimately she still belonged to him and knew that for the rest of her life, that was how it would be.
Kajal knew that on every anniversary of her marriage to Devraj, she’d try to make that very cake they’d shared in that hotel suite. She knew that every time she walked past that choodiyaan store, she’d end up crying in the alley because no on understand that importance. She knew that every single time she’d feel the raindrops on her skin, she’d be reminded of the first time she'd surrendered herself to him. She knew that every time she’d even take a sip of chai, or have a bite of an aloo paratha, she’d be transported back to that morning with him. She knew that with every single breathe she took, his thought would fill her mind—never quite allowing her to adapt to her new life.
Kajal Malhotra would never fully belong to Aditya Singhania and she’d warned him of that when they met before the wedding—and yet she felt guilt every single time she caught him looking at her. She’d ruined his life, and yet he looked at her with those calming smiles and she wished, she wished she could force herself to fall in love with this man and yet—her heart beat with someone else’s name attached to it.
It was a name she’d never be able to erase.
