Edited Chapter 1 Repost.
Our Own World: 1

You had grown up in one of the tightest knitted families you had ever known. Your mother was affectionate and clingy, and your father a doting father and husband. They had drilled into both your brother and your brains that family comes before all else, no matter what. Your therapist disagreed. Boundaries are important, and you need to set them. Easier said than done. Moving away to attend University had been your first step in putting some distance. Your parents weren’t terrible people, they loved you dearly, and you and anyone with eyes could see it. They were just… a lot. They expected too much of you, wanted too much and when it couldn’t be done their disappointment in you wasn’t as well hidden as they believed it to be. You were often left burnt out, and far too critical of yourself (your therapist’s words, not yours.)

Hey everyone! I need some help finding a story if you don't mind! It's an ot7 hybrid!bts x human!reader.
I don't remember if I read it on here, AO3 or Wattpad. But it starts out with Y/N being either a dr/nurse or hybrid worker. I remember they were brought into some kind of facility for injuries, and she worked there. One by one they all meet her, and they all know that they're mates (through scent i believe), but Jimin is extremely agressive and rejects her out of anger and mistrust, because he and taehyung had been through bad abuse dealt to them by humans.
Because taehyung was so loyal, he stayed with Jimin, even though he was upset. Jimin even goes so far as to corner her in a hallway and terrify her in order to keep her away from Teahyung. However, while still recovering, Taehyung asks her to come i to his room just so he can talk to her. She does, but when Jimin finds out, hes angry and acts aggressively. The tension between Jimin and Y/N caused a huge rift in the relationship between ot7, even though she actively encouraged them to seek out and spend time with Jimin and Teahyung even though she couldnt... Eventually teahyung meets Y/N in private and asks her to give him a chance to get to know her. After a while Jimin and she eventually start getting along, after he apologizes for being so horrible to her. She invites them to dinner, and the others are confused and wary, but happy at how well she and Jimin get along during the night.. I don't remember much after that unfortunately, but I absolutely LOVED that story and now I can't find it. Any help is appreciated!!

Stay Alive (39)

Warnings: none
A/N NOT BETA. I have some polls to do once I finish this whole section of meeting all the boys families. I have one out right now here >> (01/11/23-01/18/23). It's a simple yes or no so be sure to go check it out!

Taehyung lived on the other side of Daegu where a majority of its forest and landscaping was. The mountains were a lot like Seoul but a bit smaller. They had caves where dragons and elves lived but the place Taehyung took you to was just a large forest area with colorful foliage and plants that you had never seen before.
The excited boy was pulling you along quickly, dragging you almost with how much he was rushing forward to find the place he was looking for. You didn’t have time to look around your surroundings, only catching small glimpses of colors and other people lingering about. Your eyes almost popped out of your skull when you both came across a large gathering of people with angel-like wings on their backs.
Taehyung had explained to you that they were fearies. If he had his own wings, they too would look just like those. Large and black that would stretch out to be 10 feet in length. As you kept moving forward, you could only stare at his back with sad eyes. You could only imagine the feeling he must have felt to see others of his kind with their wings. It must be tough to lose a part of yourself.
Taehyung didn’t show it though, he still continued to drag you around the forest and giggle as his eyes widened at the familiar forest of his home.
“I'm going!” You laughed when he turned to look at you. “Wait.” You told him pointedly, catching him stop to give you a boxy smile that you had fallen in love with.
“Sorry!” He told you, pulling you closer. “I'm just so excited for you to see my home.” He looked around once more, closing his eyes as the wind blew through his hair.
“You don't live in a house?” You frowned, looking around to try and find some semblance of a building.
“I mean we do but they're hidden in the forests nearby.” The man explained. “Fearies like nature a bit more than most. Hobi's kind live the same way–it connects us to nature.” He added.
You paused for a moment to think about how Hoseok and Taehyung differed. You were clearly able to tell some differences but not all. So it left you wondering just how similar the two were and how different.
“Do you and Hobi have the same abilities?” You asked.
“Not at all.” Taehyung answered you, turning to walk alongside you as he continued on his journey. “Only spell casting and telekinesis. I have wings and Hobi doesn't. There are a couple of other things too.” He rambled on.
You smiled at his boyish nature, knowing that was just the personality Taehyung had. “Like transfiguration?” You asked him, remembering how it was only Taehyung who had turned the boys into frogs.
“Yes!” Taehyung giggled, happy to know you figured that one out. “I can do that but Hobi can't. He also can't shapeshift.” He explained nonchalantly.
“You can shapeshift?” You gasped, giggling to yourself as you swung your intertwined hands around.
“Into a lot of things!” Taehyung smiled, ducking to rub his nose along your own.
However something in the distance made him freeze, quickly turning his head to find the source. You could hear some people talking followed by one or two barks of a dog.
“Oh!” Taehyung’s face suddenly lit up, his breathing turning sporadic. “Oh my gods! Hurry!” He pulled you harshly, running forward without letting you get the chance to start.
“Taehyung!” You gasped. “I'm trying.” You yelled, getting your legs to start working.
“Another thing Hobi doesn't have.” Taehyung’s eyes sparkled as he looked around.
There was rattling coming from the trees and something came out from the foliage. “A familiar!” He screamed, letting go of your hand and rushing towards a small pomeranian dog that was running towards the two of you.
“Yeontan!” Taahyunh cried, picking up the puppy. “I'm home! I made it home. I'm so sorry.” He cried, rubbing his cheeks against the dog’s fluffy coat.
“Yeontan!” Someone called out, rushing out from between some trees in a panic. When the man saw you and Taehyung, he gasped quietly. “Taehyung.” He whispered, a large smile overtaking his face.
Taehyung turned around, setting down the dog before lunging at the man who clearly recognized the boy. “Hyung!” Taehyung laughed, hugging the man around his neck.
“Nothing has changed has it?” The man laughed, hugging Taehyung closer to him as he laughed joyfully.
When they both pulled away, the man’s eyes drifted over towards you, causing his eyes to widen and clear his throat. “Taehyung?” He nudged the boy's shoulder, trying to get his attention back on you.
“Taehyung, you have a guest.” Someone spoke up, causing you to look around for the source but finding no one else in the vicinity.
“Oh right!” Taehyung pulled back, giving you a grin as he brought you closer. “Seo-Joon.” He told the man. “Yeontan.” He turned to the dog. “This is my mate, (Y/N).”
The smile on his face reminded you of a boy who was excited to showcase a trophy. You giggled at his expression, wanting to coo at him but decided not to because of the others in the area. You would have to coddle him later.
“Hello.” Seojoon bowed his head in greeting, you followed after.
“It's nice to meet you.” You spoke up.
“Goodday.” Your eyes went wide as the voice came from the ground, locking on to the dog Taehyung was just crying over.
“Oh, he just talked.” You squeaked, looking at the animal in astonishment.
“Yes, familiars do that!” Taehyung clapped, reaching down to pick up Yeontan. “Here hold him.”
You jumped back as Taehyung shoved the poor animal in your face, his tongue lapping out as he panted.
“Please don't.” Yeontan sighed, closing his mouth as he hung in Taehyung’s arms.
“Yeontan. Be nice. She is my mate.” Teahyung pouted, looking at the dog in the face.
“Don't worry I won't.” You smiled at him.
Yeontan gave you a nod in thanks and if he could you would assume he was giving you a kind smile. You could tell the animal praised Taehyung a lot and only allowed him to touch him more than often. He seemed like those kinds of pets. The ones who got attached to their owners at a young age. At least that was what you compared him to.
“Have you been taking care of him since I've been gone?” Taehyung turned to Seo-Joon.
“I found him after you disappeared.” Seojoon answered, frowning just a bit. “He told me about the man who took you.”
Your eyebrows rose as you heard Seojoon’s story. Turning to look at Yeontan in Taehyung’s arms, you begin to wonder how it was he managed to escape. But then again, maybe a dog wasn’t as important as an actual faerie or dragon.
“I was there but managed to escape in time.” Yeontan began to explain as he caught your glance. “I made it this far before Seo-Joon found me. Without Taehyung, I'm not able to turn into anything else.”
“I'm sorry I left.” Taehyung sighed, rubbing his cheek against Yeontan’s fur again.
“It's alright, Tae.” The dog wiggled around for a moment in Taehyung’s hold. “I'm glad you're back.”
“Yes, but he doesn’t have wings.” Seojoon spoke somberly.
Taehyung froze for a moment and his shoulders dropped. He gave a sad smile, softly curling his fingers around Yeontan’s fur. “Things were hard in the facility.” He quietly said.
“And you can tell us when you are ready.” Yeontan cut in.
Seojoon nodded with a reassuring smile. “You’re home now–all of you. That’s all that matters.”
“All because of my beautiful mate.” Taehyung grinned, moving to give your cheek a kiss.
“No words will ever be able to express how much it means to have them all back home.” Yeontan bowed his little doggie head. “Welcome to the world of magic.”
Taehyung had introduced you to his parents and the rest of his family. They all gave you their thankful wishes and hugs that signaled how much they truly missed their son. It was tearful to hear Taehyung explain to his siblings what had happened to his wings but they still hugged him to make him feel better.
Once things settled down, Taehyung had decided to take you to where his grandparents were resting. He said they would have loved you so much. He was someone who grew up with his grandparents much like how you had. You figured that if the day came when you would lose your grandfather you would feel the same sentiment as Taehyung.
“Your world is very beautiful.” You spoke softly, sitting on a stone bench that overlooked Taehyung’s family’s crypt. “I love it so much.”
“Enough to stay?” Taehyung said out of no where.
“Stay?” You question, turning to look at him.
“With us.” He hummed, facing you directly. “Here.” He added. “Be our mate.” He took your hands into his, fingers intertwined together as he gave you a hopeful look.
“But—” You immediately said, not processing his words just yet.
“It's not that different from your world!” Taehyung began to defend his reasoning. “I'm sure you'll fit right in. And work? Don't worry about it! I'm sure Bang Nim can find you something.”
You grinned, eyes drifting to his lips as you watched him ramble on about the things you could do in their world. You cut him off though when he began to speak about how things would work out living with all seven of them, hand on his cheek to make him look at you.
“I have to think about it.” You smiled.
“I hope you say yes. I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” Taehyung said quietly. “I love you too much to let you go.” He whispered, leaning closer to brush his lips against yours.
You smiled into the kiss, pulling him forward to press your lips fully into him. Pulling back, you kept your forehead against his, noses brushing together.
“I love you too, Taehyung.”

CHAPTER ONE
Hybrid!BTSxReader
Kim Seokjin: Black Jaguar, Min Yoongi: Black Panther, Kim Namjoon: Grey Timber Wolf, Jung Hoseok: Red Fox, Park Jimin: Golden Retriever, Kim Taehyung: Snow Tiger, Jeon Jungkook: Yukon Moose
Warnings⚠️ Cursing, Smoking, Mental scars come back to haunt Y/n, verbal abuse (towards the end).
Honestly this is mostly purely domestic things will ramp up here soon enough, I promise.

The wind blows me left and right as I push my way to the barn, rain is pelting me from all directions and I almost fall into the growing stream in front of the barn. Slipping through the crack of the big barn doors all I can see are the flickering candles that I had set out earlier in case the power went out, which it did the second I stood in front of my horse. She's stamping in her pen and jumping around obviously terrified by the raging storm or it could very well be the figures I saw run inside just mere minutes ago.
"Hey now, hush. You're okay Dovey." I do my best to soothe her, all is calm for a split second when her head darts to my right tracking something in the darkness and she starts to freak out again. Her head comes back with force colliding with mine and my ass meets the ground with a soft oof slipping through my lips. "Mother fucker! Damn near broke my jaw doing that, knock it off!" I shout over the storm rubbing my lower jaw then lean back on one hand massaging the side of my head when there's a rustle in the hay bed directly in front of me.
A few moments pass by, then out of the corner of my eye, I spy a flash of orange sprint right into the other stall. "Hey, I'm not going to hurt you. Are you injured?" Lightning flashes outside with thunder booming closely behind letting me know we're in the thick of the storm and everything suddenly becomes scarier as it rages on outside yet it's almost dead silent inside the barn.
I stand up from my spot on the ground and make my way to the open stall across from Dove. Cautiously, keeping my hands raised as I make eye contact with a pair of glowing eyes narrowed in on my position. It doesn't feel like a death stare but a curious one although the narrow slits in its eyes says otherwise. "Hi, my name is Y/n. I've taken care of hybrids before I-" Pausing I mentally smack myself.
They're not going to trust you if you spout random shit like that, are you fucking serious?
I shrug my shoulders with an awkward smile. "Hi little guy." I barely move another step forward before I hear a low growl coming from my left and as I turn to face the noise, I'm quickly tackled to the ground by a fox hybrid. "Shit! Oh, y-you're not little a-are you?" I say shyly as the full grown fox hybrid looks up from the crook of my neck his pupils slightly blown out and his lips pressed into a soft heart shape, he's smiling and I can't help but stare at the gorgeous hybrid sitting on top of me before I break the silence.
"Uh-uhm c-could you, get off me?" I ask softly and the hybrids eyes widen quickly scrambling off of me. As we stand he curls his tail around his waist protectively and his ears pressed against the top of his head. "I-I'm sorry you just- y-you smell so good, I couldn't help myself." He mutters out his apology and I hear hay rustling again with quite a few pairs of footsteps followed behind with a low rumbling sound coming closer and my body goes ramrod stiff and eyes widen alarmingly as I look over to the fox hybrid. "I- it's f-fine."
I can barely get my response out of my mouth before I feel a firm rumbling chest press against my back. "Please, for all that is good in this world, tell me there isn't a m-moving, vibrating oak tree b-behind me." I stutter as my body begins to shake increasingly worse as the breathing brick wall lets out a low growl.
"Now that's enough you're scaring the poor girl! Can't you see she's shaking like a leaf!" I can't bring myself to turn around at all but the growling does stop eventually and my body relaxes just a little, if it relaxes at all. "I'm sorry about him he's just- protective." I nod in response bringing an arm up to wrap around my middle the best I can as I slowly spin around and back away with my head hung low, I bump into yet another chest and I freeze up again but I feel something soft and wet wrap around my waist instead.
"I'm sorry for scaring you." The mystery man says through gritted teeth, fighting against his natural instincts to protect his pack mates from the human in front of him. I hear him but I don't look up, my own fight or flight instincts have kicked in and I stare at the ground like a deer caught in the headlights of a car.
"Goddammit Namjoon, now look at what you've done, she's completely frozen!" Out of the corner of my eye I can see another pair of glowing eyes within the darkness, this one sounds blunt and to the point, oh boy I think to myself as I slowly try to ground myself by absently touching whoever the tail around my waist belongs to trying to move around it and get to the fabric underneath said tail so I can pick at it.
I close my eyes for a moment and only when the hybrid's chest meets my back do I realize I'm stroking it's tail, I quickly let go still a little dazed . "U-uhm, s-so, if you're going to s-stay here, I'm going to need names a-and... uhm- hybrid species so I can take care of you three? Or is there four of you?" I ask quizzically as the power turns back on and the barn is bathed in a warm golden light of the old lightbulbs that haven't been changed in years.
As soon as my eyes adjust I open them again to not only find three or four but seven hybrids, yes seven male hybrids I count them at least three times as I look around me. There was a black panther hybrid with long black hair covering some of his handsome features leaning against a wall with his arms crossed just staring.
A golden retriever wrapped around my waist by his tail and his chest still rattling against my back staring anywhere but at me with the fox standing next to him awkwardly. What I'm pretty sure is a jaguar hybrid whispering to a damn giant grey wolf hybrid, he is a least a good foot or two taller than me. In fact now that I look around the room all of them are much bigger than me and it's daunting.
I'll have to look up at all of them just to speak to them. "Are we going to stand here while she stares at us or are we gonna get moving?" I look up and find kind eyes and soft features but the rest of him doesn't match his face.
He's tall with long dark curly hair, two lip piercings and a brow piercing, his arms are covered in tattoos too. He reminds me of an old greaser from the movies my grandparents used to watch. I look up and see he has two.... moose antlers? But they're small and form a halo around his head. "Don't be an ass Jungkook she's already scared enough as is." A hand meets my shoulder and it takes me a solid second to turn to the jaguar hybrid beside me. "Hi." I squeak mentally cursing my vocal cords.
This is so fucking awkward, why did I come out here?
Oh, that's right I thought they were going to ransack the barn.
It's their turn to stare, I would be flattered any other day that wasn't today but right now this is beginning to be too much for my racing heart and my nerves are shot. My mind is fogged and with the intense stare down from six hybrids my knees are close to buckling out from under me.
Just as the jaguar opens his mouth to speak Dove starts freaking out for a moment and I speed walk around the broad shouldered hybrid to get to her but she's calm as I walk towards her and when my eyes look up to see why I spot the tall fluffy, curly hair, tiger? Albino tiger, no his stripes are black not the usual odd blonde color, the ears on top of his head stand out like a sore thumb against his brown curls that lay just above his eye brows.
I steel myself and calmly walk over to him and Dove with a gentle yet shaky hand I pat her neck and the hybrid shuffles away a few steps. "She seems to like you." I manage to speak without my vocal cords betraying me this time, now that most of the other hybrids are within earshot and I can see most of them out of the corner of my eye I start to feel better about the whole situation.
"She likes it when you pat her neck, it's weird she doesn't like to be touched all that much by strangers but, by the looks of it she's comfortable around you, uhm." I stop for a second and look up at the snow tiger hybrid. "Taehyung." He holds his hand out for me to shake and I look between him and his outstretched hand a few times before he takes my hand into his and it completely engulfs my small hand within his grip.
Letting go I turn my attention back to Dove with pink cheeks and pat her neck again to show Taehyung how she likes to be shown affection and he copies my actions before a cough brings me out of my personal distraction and my body stiffens again.
"A-anyways, I don't mind you staying here but the barn needs a few repairs and the roof leaks quite a bit so with that being said, the house has plenty of space for you guys to spread out if you'd like and if not I can bring out some blankets and pillows for the night. If that's what you-"
Looking over my shoulder I can see the retriever and fox hybrid bouncing in place with small smiles on their faces and Taehyung wraps himself around my body in a warm hug while the others share a silent conversation. I lean into the hug and the warmth Taehyung's body gives off is comforting for a moment before the grey wolf lets out an exasperated sigh pinching the bridge of his nose and I quickly stand up straight.
"We'll go to the house with you if it's not too much trouble." A smile comes across my face for the first time in a while and I scrunch my nose a little in excitement to not have an empty house anymore. "Awesome! I made a little more food than I had planned on eating tonight so that works out perfectly! I'll make a little more since there's seven of you, okay?" I grab Dove's bridle and saddle off the far wall and saddle her up before giving her a kiss on top of her head, I hear a few whines off to the side but I don't comment on it.
"I'll be back, I'm sure we have a lot of work this morning." My previous anxiety about being around four apex predators, a moose, red fox, and a retriever melt away like the first frost of winter. I take a look outside from the big barn doors and smile, the rain has stopped and the sun is starting to rise.
As I open the door with the hybrids behind me and the fox and retriever flanking either side of me talking animatedly which has me laughing for the first time in a while. Looking around the yard I stop by the hen house to check on the little chicks and the mother hens, the fox looks at them curiously but once I determine they're okay I walk up the porch steps with the seven hybrids in tow.
"So this is the kitchen if you need anything and can't find it nine times out of ten it's gonna be in the walk in pantry just over there." I point to my right to the double doors against the far wall as we walk through the kitchen I stop in the foyer in front of the stairs. "Now these stairs are old and creak like nobody's business." I take a few steps up and they let out a shrill creak, a few of their ears flatten against their heads at the horrid sound. "So be careful when your walking around this house is old. My grandfather's grandfather built this house back when people could afford to build anywhere they wanted." I smile and walk further into the house.
"This is the parlor room er- the living room, uhm, there is a game system hooked up with a giant wall of movies-" I turn around and they have disbursed into different areas of the large room looking around at the pictures and paintings on the wall.
A warm feeling envelopes my heart and tears well up in my eyes as I watch all of them walking around being curious except for the wolf hybrid, who stands in the archway between the living room and foyer, staring me down like prey with his arm crossed, like he's waiting for me to throw them out or something.
If it wasn't for his overwhelming stature and broad build that reminds me so much of my asshole father maybe, just maybe, I wouldn't feel like he is about to murder me in my own home. "S-so uhm, the bedrooms are upstairs. You can pick any bedroom you want or if you want me to s-show you-" I flinch hard when the retriever runs up to me grabbing my hand to drag me back to the foyer and up the stairs. I know he saw me flinch but I'm thankful he didn't say anything. Soon they've all settled into their respective rooms, I've learned their names as we toured the upstairs so that part of my brain has now relaxed to an extent.
I stand at the stove in the kitchen making breakfast with Jimin glued to my side like a well, for lack of a better phrase, a lovesick puppy. "And then we pour a little bit into the pan like this." I'm cooking pancakes with eggs and sausage with a few other dishes in different cast iron skillets like my grandmother used to do when I was little and I would spend the night when my father had gotten bad before they realized just how shitty he could really be. "Once the top starts bubbling that's when you know it's ready to flip over, see?"
Jimin stares in awe as I flip the pancake over and the bottom is a crispy golden brown. Perfect. After breakfast was done I called out for the rest of the house to come and get it like a dinner bell. One by one they file in from either the living room or their bedrooms but the footsteps stop short in the archway, staring at the table.
"All of this? For us?" The hybrid I've come to know as Jin is actually a very soft individual despite his predator counterpart. "Of course, I'm lucky enough to of had all my cast irons washed and seasoned yesterday so I cooked a big breakfast for you guys. I'm sure you're all hungry."
I smile brightly at all of them as Jungkook is the last to arrive. "Holy shit look at all this food. Are you a line cook or something?" He looks at me with his big innocent looking eyes, I chuckle and set a few paper plates down with plastic silverware and napkins, standing off to the side. "Well, don't just stand there find a spot and dig in." I smile brightly, Jimin and Hoseok are the first to sprint to the table followed closely by Taehyung and Jungkook (who look like they could eat all of it by themselves if they wanted to) followed by Yoongi and Jin.
I walk over to the sink and take a sip of my energy drink, doing my best to stay awake while looking at the six hybrids sitting at my table, I can't help but smile softly at the scene in front of me. They're talking like a family who hasn't been without each other their entire lives, arguing with each other like siblings and feeding each other and stuffing their cheeks as if this would be their last meal, they had to taste everything.
Namjoon being the ever so silent yet calculating pack alpha stands in the doorway again before Jin is dragging him to sit at the opposite head of the table with the chair across from him, empty. "Aren't you going to join us?" Taehyung looks up from the spot next to the empty chair with his cheeks filled with food and I look at him my face burning with the intense eye contact. "Oh, uh, no I gotta get back outside and take a look at what damage the storm caused. But you guys are welcome to roam if you want and if you need me just holler and I'll be back in as soon as I can."
They share a look between them and I barely hear Jimin whisper the word 'holler' again phrased like a question to Hoseok before they shrug their shoulders and go back to eating. Taehyung breaks his gaze to focus on his plate shaking his head as I walk out into the small nook that houses my work gear. Just as I buckle the last spur onto my boot, I feel someone tapping my shoulder and I jump back with my fists raised.
"Hey whoa take it easy, didn't mean to startle you." I take a deep breath and clutch my chest whilst trying to calm my racing heart. "It's decided, you need a fucking bell." I deadpan, Yoongi's cheeks turn a soft shade of pink as I grab my hat off the hook and put it on my head tying my hair back in a low ponytail. "Uhm, I wanted to ask you if there's any, extra blankets-" I quickly cut him off because I've already made Dove wait this long to get back outside I can't make her wait much longer before she starts going stir crazy.
"Oh, yeah the linen closet is just under the stairs there should be a few quilts in there or something, I gotta get back outside, Doves been waiting for almost two hours and I gotta check on the cows." I pat Yoongi on the head and his cheeks burn brighter as my pinky gently brushes the base of his ear. "I'll be right outside if you need me okay?" I say as I walk through the front door and into the side yard to start picking up the tree limbs.
A few hours of picking up limbs and throwing them in the bed of the truck with a few other tasks checked off my mental list. I've left the biggest branch for last because, well, it's a big bitch but I'm sure I can handle it by myself for the most part.
"Hey let me help you." I jump a foot backwards from the truck hearing my fathers voice for a moment before I turn around to see Namjoon standing on the other side of the truck.
"Uhm, thanks but I got it handled." I speak awkwardly as I shift to the large branch only for Namjoon to move around the truck and swiftly come to my aide. "Let me help you, it's a big branch Y/n I don't think you can lift it by yourself. " In the back of my mind I know he's just trying to help but I've gone three years doing stuff like this alone. I growl at him and scowl, Namjoon is quick to return the growl ten fold as I stare at him in the eyes.
"I said, I fucking got it." I don't know why my first reaction is anger maybe it's because he reminds me so much of my father a little too much or my other issue being I like to challenge myself from time to time. I grab the branch by the broken end as the other hybrid's run out of the back door wanting to help or to diffuse the situation I don't know.
I pick it up and toss it into the truck before jumping onto Dove's back from behind her pulling the straps to the right. "I told you I didn't need help. Now, did you need anything else?" I ask looking down at the hybrid's below me from the horses back, they can smell the frustration and anger rolling off the pair of us having a staring competition.
I can't help but feel a little pissed but also a little scared as Namjoon turns and pushes pass the others back into the house growling and throwing his hands around in anger and frustration.
I take a deep breath once he's finally inside, my hard shell cracking down around me. "I know you guys mean well but I got this, I'm sure you've been through enough and need to rest. We can all go out and get you some less holy clothes, maybe a few pairs of shoes and whatever else y'all want." My southern drawl slips out to the men around me and there is a long pause accompanied by a few unblinking stares between us before Dove starts stamping her hooves into the mud.
"Right, we can do all that tomorrow, I'll take the afternoon off. Uhm, can any of you drive a truck? I usually pull her along side but that's too slow and I would like to get this shit done so I can cook dinner for everyone later." I ask awkwardly leaning over to pat Dove's neck to both calm her and distract myself from the lingering stares on me.
Jin slowly raises his hand and I smile at him. "Could you drive it through the gate? I'll show you were the burn pile is out in the field. Maybe after it dries up enough we can light a fire? There's enough wood here to have it burn for a day or two." I shrug my shoulders after I kick the side of the truck and both Jimin and Hoseok walk over to Dove and I, looking down and to my right at Hoseok. "Do you think Jimin and I can ride out there with you?" I look between him and Jimin curiously, mentally trying to figure out how to do this.
"You guys want to ride in the bed of the truck or with me?" I can't help but giggle at their smiling faces and swishing tails. Jimin looks nervous as he brushes his fingers through his golden blonde tail. "I don't know how to ride a horse though." He says sheepishly as he looks intently at the ground. "That's okay Jimin honey, you can sit in front and we can make Hoseok take the ass end." Jimin's smile returns to his plush lips while Hoseok looks slightly offended or hurt by my remark but his soft smile is quick to return to his handsome face as I take Jimin's hand and tell him to put his foot in the stirrup and climb up as I pull him in front of me only he's facing the wrong way and I can't help but laugh softly. "Jimin sweety, you need to turn around." I adjust my hat on my head as his perfect cheeks are graced with a cute shade of pink.
"O-oh, s-sorry." I tell him it's okay and lean back so he can swing his feet over to the correct sides of the saddle and I look over to Hoseok if he needs any help. "Come on Hobi! It's a whole other world up here!" Jimin shouts as Dove moves back and forth a little spooked by the sudden volume change, Hoseok quickly grabs my outstretched hand and hauls himself up to sit behind me and I blush as he snakes his long arms around my middle and lays his head on my back rubbing his cheek against the nape of my neck, absently scenting.
I grab the straps to the bridle tightly. "Okay Dovey, let's get this shit done." I urge her to move forward slowly but she has other ideas and jolts forward as if this is the happiest she's ever been. I grab onto the back of Hoseok's tattered shirt when she sprints forward, him and Jimin let out a scream and with my other hand I yank the bridle back and she stops only to walk a little slower. The others laugh as they get into the truck and Jin drives it through the gate except Yoongi he walks back to the house either to check on Namjoon or take a nap, who knows.
Once all of the branches are thrown on the ever growing burn pile I wipe the sweat from my forehead and set my hands on my hips standing next to the truck. "Thanks for the help guys, it would've taken me for-fucking-ever to get this done without you." I huff wiping off more sweat when Jimin runs over to me with big eyes.
"Y/n-ie! When do you think we could light that fire?" His words pour out of his mouth quickly like a running faucet, I lay my hands on his shoulders and he calms down just a little. "We have to wait until the wood isn't soaking wet Jimin-ie." The small nickname that falls from my lips causes his energy to spike, giving him a soft smile before ruffling his hair, returning my hands to my jean pockets. "The next few days are going to be warm and sunny so, I'll probably be out here more often than not." Jimin nods and goes back to playing with Hoseok jumping around happily as he relays the information I just told him.
Digging into my jacket pocket, I pull out my pack of cigarettes and light one as I watch Taehyung join in on the fun. Taking a drag Jungkook walks over to me, leaning his hip against the truck, "Care if I steal one?" I turn to face him cocking an eyebrow. He points to the cigarette hanging from my mouth.
"They're menthol are you sure?" I ask as I open the pack again he just shakes his head so I hand one to him. He reaches for the lighter before I hold it out of reach. "Nah-ah, I've had too many lighters go missing. I'll light it."
Jungkook furrows his brows and looks at me like I'm half crazy then he leans forward waiting. I hold the lighter in front of his face and he lights it but he doesn't move away, instead he looks me in the eyes and smirks when my cheeks grow hotter than they already were.
We're so close one move and I'll hit my head on his fucking antlers. "You know anyone of us, even Jimin, could over power you at any given minute, right?" He takes another drag of his cigarette before leaning back against the truck finally giving me breathing room.
"I know that, I'm used to dealing with dog and cat hybrid's so a good chunk of all of this is new to me. I'm used to them staying either a few hours and then moving on or leaving after a night of rest. Which you guys should be doin' anyways." I nudge him in his side with a smile taking the last drag of my cigarette flicking it onto the wet pile across from me. "We would've gotten some rest had you not challenged the alpha wolf earlier."
I turn my head away from him and look off to my right, Dove has joined the hybrids and I see Taehyung take off running after her like they're playing a game of tag. "I'm sorry about that. It's just- I- he-" I shake my head and rub the back of my neck looking back at him when Hoseok almost falls to the ground stifling the laugh caught in my throat. "You don't have to justify your actions Y/n. He needs to be knocked down a peg or two anyways. Two alpha's of different species going at it is always fun to watch." Jungkook flicks his own cigarette butt into the pile before turning towards me with his hands slipping into his back pockets.
"Two alph- no, ugh, he wanted to help me with the big branch but then he said he didn't think I could lift it, I don't know why those words triggered me the way they did, he was just trying to help and I bit his fucking head off." I take a deep breath, rubbing my face in frustration calling Dove over. "I'm quick to anger and I'm sorry if any of you have to see it, much less deal with it yourselves. I've been doing my best to fix my face I swear."
I tap my cheeks as the horse trots up to meet me and I glance at him to try and gage his reaction but he remains stoic and unaffected by my words like he's trying to process how not to piss me off or something. He does let a chuckle come through so, that makes me feel a little better. "Y/n-ie! Can I ride with you this time?" I turn my head to see Taehyung all up in my bubble with his chin on my shoulder and his white striped tail swaying back and forth excitedly hoping I'll say yes.
"Of course you can! Move for a second I don't wanna kick ya in the face." He moves to the opposite side of the horse and I swing my leg over and sit on the saddle with my thighs squished against her sides and I look over at Taehyung. "Think you could do that by yourself?" He looks at me and then the saddle and back to me, I raise a brow at him like dude, come on you got long legs surely you don't need help up.
I roll my eyes and give him a hand and he sets his foot into the stirrup before hauling himself onto the back of the horse. "Good boy." The words leave my lips and I don't even notice the look him and Jungkook share once those words fall from my mouth because Jimin quickly sits in front of me distracting me from looking at the pair and I can't help but smile at his eagerness.
I hold onto the bridle straps and wrap my arms around Jimin this time and rest my chest against his back to make a little more room for Taehyung. Once everyone is settled and a pouting Hoseok is put into the bed of the truck with Jungkook who keeps smiling at the two blushing hybrids sitting horseback holding onto me tightly, myself oblivious to the people around me as always.
I get into the house and take my boots and coat off, everyone is toeing their shoes off next to mine, and awkwardly standing in the crowded nook waiting. I look around at the four of them around me when Jungkook pushes through from the back making his way to sit in the living room with Taehyung who attaches himself to the hem of his shirt, closely following the moose hybrid.
I walk to the kitchen with Jimin and Jin in tow. "What do you guys want for dinner?" I open the large pantry that also holds a big freezer to the left and endless shelves of snacks and treats as well as dry ingredients to the right. "I'm not picky so I don't care what you make, I'll eat it." Jungkook yells from the living room Taehyung silently nodding along, reminding me just how good hybrid hearing really is.
"Okay then I'll make some chicken enchiladas for you six and for Namjoon as an apology for ripping him a new asshole earlier..." I think for a moment clicking my tongue as I sift through the shelves then walk over to the large freezer.
I open it up and set a hand on my hip tonguing the inside of my cheek lost in thought then I find what I was looking for. "Ah-hah! Found it!" I practically jump into the freezer, my feet coming off the ground a few inches. Standing back on my feet, I pull out a T-bone steak and throw it on top of the freezer once it's closed and move to look for the rest of the ingredients for enchiladas and a glass pan to cook it in.
Pulling the pan out of the oven and setting it on the potholders on the table I waddle back to the stove top to finish the steak and little fixings I put together for Namjoon. I make his plate and set it in the microwave above the stove incase he doesn't come down right away.
"Dinner is re-" I turn around to find my table already filled with bodies and I raise my hands level with my shoulders. "Okay, nevermind. Where's Namjoon?" I peek into the fridge and grab the few bottles of salsa and hot sauce that I have along with a small tub of sour cream and set it all on the table. Jungkook and Taehyung already putting their plates together. "Make sure you save some for me you heathens!"
I shout playfully pointing my finger at the two hybrids across the table as I walk away from the kitchen to find the wolf hybrid. "Hey! Dinner's ready! I know you can hear me mister!" I shout from the bottom of the stairs after I couldn't find him in the living room. I feel like a mother who has to drag her teenage son from his room just to eat with everyone for a change.
It might have only been a few hours but having people to take care of instead of just the farm animals is a feeling I don't want to lose. "I'll go get him Y/n, you go eat." Jin rubs my shoulder with a small smile that I return. "Thanks Jin, I owe you one." He rubs my back in soothing circles then heads upstairs and I leave the staircase back to the kitchen.
A few moments later I hear the grumbling voices of both Namjoon and Jin arguing while walking down the stairs. "She made me something different?" His tone of voice was softer as he rounded the corner to see his seat was empty and there was no plate in sight. Mid bite I quickly stand up from my chair knocking it over as I rush to the microwave.
"Shit sorry! I left it in here so it would stay hot." I take his still very hot plate out of the microwave and slamming it shut making everyone wince at the loud noise. Jin takes his place by Jimin and starts eating his own food when his eyes light up. "Oh my god this is amazing Y/n! Where did you learn to cook?" He asks as he shoves another much bigger bite into his mouth and I set Namjoon's plate in front of his respective seat. "My grandma taught me how to cook and my mother taught me how to bake when I was little."
I look at the floor as Namjoon takes his seat and I can't help but tear up a little. They notice a change in my scent instead of the normal leather and cedar wood with a hint of coconut and vanilla, Jin was quick to do damage control. "I'm sorry if it's a touchy subject, I'll be more careful wi-" I quickly look up and cut him off, I seem to have a habit of that. I shake my head a little. "No it's okay! My uh, my mom died when I was... when I was like ten and I only had one friend growing up so..."
I trail off and look to Namjoon who has yet to touch his food, he's just sitting there shuffling in his seat and I set a hand on his shoulder. "Namjoon? You okay?" He looks up at me and the faintest pink blush creeps across his cheeks. "Y-yeah, I'm fine." His short reply is enough for me to nudge him with my hip. "Then eat honey, I wanted to apologize to you for my uh- for being pissed at you earlier. I didn't mean to I just, get upset when someone tells me I can't do something or they hint at me not being able to do something. That's all."
I give him a half smile as he cuts into his steak and I wait for him to take the bite, subtly his eyes shine for a second before he swallows and turns to me opening his mouth to speak. "It's good th-thank you." I smile at him and clasp my hands together and my smile somehow gets bigger when out of the blue I hug him from the side. His tail makes a soft thumping sound against the back of his chair but he quickly stops it as though the sudden action had bitten him.
"I'm so happy you like it Joon!" I release him and speed waddle my way back to my seat to finish my food. The is table finally filled and I smile as I take a bite looking across the way as the others return to the plates in front of them and resume their conversations.
Jin is staring at Namjoon with a smile on his face, looking at the hybrid next to him spacing out looking at his plate frozen in place, after a moment he looks up at me and his cheeks burn a rosy red before he quickly goes back to eating.
After everyone is finished I take the plates and glass pan off the table walking to the sink to start cleaning them as most of the hybrid's have moved into the living room. Yoongi stands over my shoulder watching me wash the dishes and put them in the drying rack. "May I help you?" I ask curiously smiling as I half turn towards the panther hybrid behind me with a plate in hand. "I can- Do you want any help?"
He corrects himself as he remembers the conversation from earlier. "Oh, well, you don't have to help if you don't want to, it's okay." I shrug my shoulders while he shakes his head moving to the side grabbing a towel before drying the few dishes stacked to his right. "It's the least I can do after you've cooked for us twice now and I don't think any of the others are going to help." I look at him for a second before leaning back to look into the living room.
Taehyung and Jungkook have started a video game to play together and Jin is sitting on the couch behind the two on the floor watching while Hoseok and Jimin are playing around with a tennis ball they found somewhere (where they found it I have no clue) and Namjoon is sitting on the recliner reading a book from the nearby shelf with his long legs crossed over each other.
"Well I guess one helper is better than none." He nods and we talk for a little bit before a comfortable silence takes over the kitchen, it's nice to have company but not have the need or want to fill the soundless void.
With the dishes dried and put in the correct places (Yoongi needed help at least four times before he memorized the whole kitchen) I dry my hands off and set the towel on the oven handle before moving to the stairs. "I'm going to take a shower if you need any-" Jungkook interrupts by screaming. "Take that you cheating mother fucker!" In triumph he throws his hands in the air, Taehyung covering his eyes chuckling out of frustration his strategy didn't work anymore and I just giggle.
"I'm going to take a shower if you need anything, ask Yoongi." I point behind me as he walks forward trying to catch me before I sprint up the stairs laughing. He turns to face the room staring at him. "Don't ask me for a fucking thing, I barely got the kitchen down."
Stepping out of the shower I take a long look in the mirror. "Seven of them, that's a lot to handle. They're probably going to leave in the morning anyways so what's the point in putting them in better clothes?" I ask myself as I get dressed in an oversized band tee and long basketball shorts before the mirror talks back.
"Look at you, once a whore always a whore."
I recognize that voice, it's the same voice that would yell at me for something as little as spilling his beer when I brought it to him. "That's right babygirl, it's daddy." It whispers nastily.
I whip around and the only person I see in the mirror is myself, shaking my head I turn to walk back into my room when I see him through the mirror next to my bed and I freeze in front of it. "I'm sure you'll be a good fuck for those beasts, huh?" His reflection stares back with a shit eating grin, I grit my teeth and ball my hands into fists. "You're not real, I shot you four fucking times."
My mind flashes back to that night shivering at the image of his skull and brain matter littering the basement walls. "Oh sweetheart, you know that won't stop me from seeping into your subconscious. You know that better than anyone. Trauma like yours runs deeper than what people can see."
The venom drips from his mouth as he speaks it's acidic and my hands begin to hurt with how hard I'm pressing my nails into my palms. "Just go away dickwad, I don't need this shit." I wave him off but just when I think this illusion of my father couldn't get any more real he grabs my jaw, digging his fingers into my round cheeks. "You listen here cocksheath I don't need the attitude so drop it."
He growls and I nod out of habit, this was the first time he had actually touched me which meant he can hurt me if he wanted to, which I'm sure he does. "Sorry darlin' old habits die hard, ya know?" He chuckles darkly letting me go and I fall to my knees with a thud tears threatening to fall from my already puffy eyes.
"Such a good girl for daddy. Now get those filthy creatures out of here!" He shouts words only I can hear and my blood begins to boil. "They're not creatures, they're just as much of a human as I am." I whisper knowing if I shout back at him someone will come and wonder who I'm screaming at when they find me alone.
"No they're not! They belong in a zoo or a circus, they're freaks!" I cover my ears and rock back and forth while humming trying to block him out. "Pay attention to me bitch!" My body is shaking violently as he keeps shouting at me the world be damned at this point.
I stand up on my bare feet and look him in the eyes and my fist goes flying before I have a second to think about it, the mirror shatters into a million pieces and I fall knees first onto the shards below me, my face relaxed and void of all emotion.
I vaguely hear numerous pairs of feet running upstairs as I stare at the blood slowly covering the floor underneath me, I stare blankly at the floor when my bedroom door flies open, I don't dare move, still lost in my own head space. "Y/n! Fuck." Jungkook and Yoongi are the first to burst through the door followed closely by the others.
"Don't move that's a lot of shards on the floor." Yoongi is mindful of the broken mirror when he walks slowly towards my kneeling figure in the dimly lit room as the others stand nervously inside by the door.
"Y/n?" He waves his hand in front of my face and I flinch backwards and my back hits the bed, bringing my knees up to my chest I can't catch my breath and start breathing rapidly.
Bringing my hands up to my face to deflect the blow I'm sure was about to meet my body. "Please, stop. I-I'll be good I swear! I won't do it again." Of course this is when I can't tell illusion from reality, I try to make myself as small as I can so maybe the figure in front of me won't hurt me.
"Y/n, it's Yoongi. You're alright, we won't hurt you." He raises his hand to pull my arms from my face to reveal my red puffy eyes and wet cheeks, my eyes full of pain. "Take a deep breath for me okay? Deep breath kitten come on."
I keep my eyes trained on my knees unwilling to meet their gaze. My breathing slowly regulates and I eventually come back to reality, slowly taking in the environment around me and the seven hybrid's standing around my bedroom door with worried faces.
Jimin is crying against Taehyung's chest while silent tears fall from his eyes, Hoseok is hiding behind Namjoon with his tail tucked between his legs while the wolf hybrid stands tall resisting the urge to pick me up, put me into bed and scent the hell out of me until he decides it's enough.
Jin is shaking and out of breath from running up the stairs quicker than he ever has before while Jungkook is standing next to Yoongi who's kneeling in front of me his expression the calmest out of them but he's anything but calm his primal need to scent and soothe almost clouds his judgment when he takes my hand that sucker punched the mirror into his own.
"Sweetheart, where do you keep the first aid kit? Can you tell me?" His voice is soft and quiet I almost didn't hear him. Looking at him nodding towards my bathroom, he tears his eyes away from me to tell one of them to go grab it then quickly turns his attention back to my shaking form.
"Let's move you to the bed so we can get you cleaned up." I shake my head determined to stay on the floor, to stay as small as I possibly can. Namjoon grunts and my head snaps to him waiting by the door, meeting his eyes for all but a moment before Hoseok comes back with the first aid kit from the bathroom and hands it off to the panther hybrid in front of me.
He sets a hand on my shoulder trying to look me in the eyes and failing when I bring my head into my lap. "I'm going to clean the blood off your hand and knees, okay?" I shake my head and he takes my bloody hand in his, without missing a single step he tilts his head to look at the hybrids at the door. "Could one of you find the broom and clean this up so she doesn't cut her foot when I put her in bed?"
I let out a hiss of pain when the cotton bud soaked in alcohol meets a particularly deep cut on my knuckles. "N-no, I'll c-clean it, please don't feel the need to clean up my mess. I hate that you have to see me so weak, I'm not worth fretting over like this." I take my hand back tears falling from my eyes before Yoongi is finished cleaning it but he quickly takes it back with a tsk and I raise my head.
"That's bullshit and you know it. Nobody with a heart like yours could be worthless." He scowls at me not out of anger but out of concern for my well being.
I watch him clean and bandage the wounds on my body silently and I've calmed down quite a bit surprisingly enough. "Can you stand?" Jungkook makes his presence known, I look down and try to push my big ass off of the floor but my legs quickly turn into mush and I fall back down to the floor, a piece of glass cuts into my already bandaged hand and starts to bleed.
"I swear you're more accident prone than Namjoon." Jungkook chuckles trying his best to make light of the current situation. He nudges past Yoongi to me and picks me up bridal style then turns to set me on the bed. "Do you want to talk about it?" He looks down at me with his sweet chocolate brown eyes and I give him a small smile shaking my head no.
"Give me your hand, clumsy woman. I should've known you'd be accident prone when your chair fell over standing up from the kitchen table earlier." Yoongi rolls his eyes as he patches my hand yet again and my smile grows tenfold. "I know, I'm sorry you guys had to see me like this and take care of me. Haven't even been here a day." I apologize to the room as Yoongi kisses my wrist before putting it by my side again.
"Don't apologize kit. You have nothing to be sorry for and don't argue with me." His eyes flash yellow with narrow slits in the middle before they quickly go back to normal and I nod in return my eyes slowly closing before shooting open again looking over at Jimin and he walks over with his tail wrapped around his waist.
"I'm sorry I made you cry Jiminie." I sniffle before he comes closer to my bed, careful to avoid the broken mirror and Yoongi who's bent over to sweep up the shards with the broom Taehyung finally brought up. "I was so scared when I saw the blood, I thought you- I- I thought..." Tears fill his eyes again and I caress his face wiping away the stray tear that fell onto his pink cheek.
He moves to crawl into bed behind me on instinct before he stops looking at me for permission and I give him a nod before he moves under the blankets behind me. He cuddles against my back and rubs his nose against the nape of my neck to soothe his own nerves as he wraps his arm around my stomach and under my head.
The others slowly make their way out of the room leaving Jimin, Yoongi and myself alone. Yoongi sits at the edge of the bed gently kneading my calf while Jimin snores softly tightening his grip and rubbing his cheek against my neck every so often so I knew he was still here.

Ch.2
Author’s Note: New at this so go easy on me please. 🥺 Probably one of the few times I will ever use an unnamed Y/N. I’m not very used to writing in this format, but I am too lazy to think up a good name as I intended for this to be a one-shot. Though I am awful at one-shots …so this may end up in 2-3 parts. This came from a prompt I wish I could credit but can’t find now, about hybrid Bangtan “adopting” a human that Taehyung brings home. This was originally meant to be a funny and strictly fluffy take on the prompt, but evolved into this somewhat angsty mess. Apologies. Still fluffy though, I promise.
It had been one week. One week without Choi Han-Gyeol, and the boys were still very much in mourning. It hurt when so much of their lives had been intertwined with the man’s, and so much of him still lingered everywhere around the farm. They could no longer hear the sharp cackles over his own jokes, but the ugly painting of a morose clown he had bought on a whim from the bizarre still hung in the living room. Not even three weeks ago he had affixed it to the wall, near the mantel decorated in photos of the boys through the years. Jimin took one look at the clown’s sunken cheeks, droopy eyes and quivering lips, declared it a monstrosity, and then demanded it come down.
But Han-Gyeol or Gramps as he preferred they called him, made a remark about how he would leave it up, because with the portrait hanging there, he wouldn’t have to go down the hall to look in the mirror. Joking at his own expense was one of his specialities. Jin had picked up his sense of corny humor from years of close exposure, and the boys groaned over each of the duo’s lame puns or terrible one-liners.
Now it was different, though. Jin hadn’t even attempted a joke since the day before they lost their guardian—Gramps never cared for being referred to as their owner or master, a habit easier to break for some of them than others. The funeral was a pretty swift process, thanks to the meticulous instructions the old man had left behind. Apparently he had been planning for the inevitability for a while, likely since his health started to take a serious decline.
He brushed them off when they cast him worried gazes, practically growling like a hybrid himself when they hovered too much or tried to discreetly take on more of his house chores. He hated being coddled and said he would rather keep his dignity and some semblance of independence.
Han-Gyeol had no children, just some scattered great-nephews and a great-niece. None of them contested the will, leaving everything to his hybrids. Then again, the old guy was smart. On paper, it looked like all he’d really had left at the end was a farm in the middle of nowhere, one his family had never visited.
In reality, the eccentric geezer had amassed quite the fortune in late adulthood thanks to his peanut shelling company. He sold to candy factories around the world and made a killing from that alone, never mind all the well-made investments over the last decade. The farm, he told them, was a purchase made from nostalgia, wanting to reconnect to his country bumpkin roots. It later became a safe haven to every hybrid he found or rescued and let stay with him.
Jungkook, the one who had found him collapsed in the field—a heart attack, they learned later—was holed up in Gramps’ bedroom, surrounded by his things and the fragrance clinging heavily to the air that the boys jokingly called his “foxy grandpa” perfume, because he wore it when he wanted to go out on the town and leave an impression.
Everywhere he looked, everyone was so sad. So…defeated. Taehyung was no exception. He was just as devastated by the heartbreak of losing the only human most of them had ever really been able to trust.
Gramps swept into his life on a muggy summer day when he was just a pup. At the time, he was about to be carted off to who knows where by Hybrid Control officers. The family who had purchased him to be a playmate to their young daughter—who’d quickly gotten bored with him in favor of a colossal dollhouse—could no longer keep him.
They were losing their house and a lot of possessions, including the six-year old puppy hybrid who didn’t understand why his owner’s parents were arguing, tears streaming down the woman’s face. The little girl, a child of nine, seemed less affected right up until her parents started separating toys she could keep and those that would have to be sold. You tended to lose everything when you got caught embezzling millions, not that he knew that at the time. He was scared, confused, and no one was paying him any attention.
When they finally noticed him watching from the corner of their daughter’s playroom, the decision to send him with Hybrid Control wasn’t a drawn out one at all. They regarded him with dispassion, and the tall man in a gold and black uniform reached for his wrist to pull him away.
Taehyung couldn’t say he was overly attached to the family. The parents cooed at him when they took him from his littermates and parents, stuck a bow on his head and dressed him up in the most expensive outfit he had ever owned, and presented him to their daughter on her birthday.
Then that was that. From then on they mostly treated him like a discarded teddy bear that had been left on the floor and needed to be put away, regardless of the fact that he talked, ate and was, as he’d always been told by his family and the woman who owned his parents, a very good boy.
The girl he was meant to grow up with, his person, his noona, barely looked up when they carried a wriggling Taehyung out, frantically reaching for her. Sure, she was bossy, changed her mind about what game they should play so much it made his head spin. Sure she never listened to what he wanted to do, and actually stripped him down to force him to put on clothes she liked better for the sake of her imaginary games, depending on the role she gave him. Sure she wasn’t…perfect, but that didn’t matter to him.
His parents had told him having an owner would be a wonderful thing, and of all their pups, he deserved a good home. They told him he would know his person right away, love them, and that the right human would cherish him.
The pup had often wondered, another expensive bobble in the big house with this distant family who brought him there, if he was doing something wrong. Because none of them inspired the feeling his parents told him about. Still, they were his home. His first real home that was meant to be his. And he must have been a bad boy to lose it.
Through all his crying, and pleading, and promises that he would be good from then on, a better boy than he ever was before, the humans gave him the same blank face they always had, ready to let the hybrid control officer drag him away. Then, they took a look at him, and their eyes widened. Taehyung’s heart skipped a beat, a whimper died in his throat. Were they changing their mind? Seeing that he was worth keeping after all? “Wait, we’d like his collar back.” The husband had said, all business. The collar they had bestowed on him was a bit heavy, and very flashy. Custom made and encrusted with quite a few jewels. When he doubted his place in their family, thought about wandering off to find someone who actually wanted to play with him and cuddle at night with him, he looked down at the accessory.
Surely they wouldn’t spend so much money getting it for him if they didn’t love him. His mother told him his human would love him so much, they’d shower him with nice things and kind words, stroke his belly when he was sad, and throw his favorite ball for hours with a smile on their face. Taehyung only shifted into his puppy form by request, when their daughter wanted to put bows in his fur or the game required an actual dog (according to her whims).
Her parents didn’t like him running around as a puppy any other time, because of “pet dander” (whatever that meant). Needless to say he had never run through their huge backyard chasing his favorite ball. He had never rolled in the mud after it rained while someone sprinted behind him with the hose to try washing him off.
Once the collar was ripped off his throat, he knew he never would. This was it. They really didn’t want him. He wasn’t a bad boy, he was the worst boy, and his cries started up in earnest. Though this time, he didn’t fight, didn’t protest when hybrid control took him from the large house, ready to let them throw him into the back of their scary, dark van with its barred, tinted windows.
That was when Gramps materialized from nowhere, asserting his right as a concerned citizen to know what was happening, and told them right then and there he was going to adopt the sobbing boy. Taehyung must have looked so pitiful, ears pressed flat in his fluffy golden hair, tail drooping lower than ever before. His big watery blue eyes, the only fault for an otherwise perfect specimen of a golden retriever hybrid, shining with oncoming tears.
Gramps was an eccentric fifty-five year old man at the time, dressed tackily in tartan pants with a yellow blazer and wearing a velvet top hat. He kind of reminded Taehyung of ringleaders from the circus show he had been to once with his owner and her family.
The hybrid control officers protested about the rules, how he had just been signed over to them and anyone wanting to adopt him would have to wait for Taehyung’s intake and his ten day hold to be over. Then they could submit an application like everyone else and see if they were approved.
Taehyung quivered, his eyes pleading with this strange human who seemed like the least threatening choice, hoping he would help. And he did. With a conspiratorial smile, he took out his wallet and his phone.
Two decades later, Taehyung still wasn’t sure exactly what happened, but he ended up going home Choi Han-Gyeol, which was the best thing that could have possibly happened that day. There, he found a playmate/friend in an emperor penguin hybrid named Seokjin who’d been rescued roughly a year prior to his arrival from a carnival that wasn’t equipped to provide for him properly.
The older boy showed him the ropes, got him used to living on the farm and assured him that Gramps was a good human that could be trusted. One of the first additions he’d made to his land after acquiring Seokjin was installing a new facility where the temperature stayed subarctic at all times so he could be comfortable when he needed to escape the summer heat.
Over the years, more hybrids had joined them, coming from a variety of backgrounds. Two of his hyungs were former wild hybrids, losing their families in separate incidents due to discrimination against their species. With Gramps as the common thread that tied them together at first, they had become close. Just the eight of them, thriving in their own little corner of the world.
And then there were seven, Gramps’ ashes scattered on the rocky shores of his favorite beach, just like he wanted. He was gone. He was free. Happy as that made the dog, it didn’t stop the persistent ache in his heart. For him or for the others.
They went on, because what choice did they have? The farm animals were taken care of, the house was grudgingly cleaned, but no one had any cheer, and it was starting to take its toll. They were usually a vibrant bunch with a rowdy household. Gramps scolded now and then, but they all knew he wouldn’t want it any other way.
“Hey, food’s done.” Yoongi greeted as Taehyung made his way into the kitchen. “Who’s going to be the one to drag the kid out here?”
Hoseok and Jimin, who had been quietly talking at the table, stared between each other. “Shouldn’t we let him sleep a little longer, hyung?” Jimin asked carefully. “You know he’s restless at night.”
Jungkook, their youngest, was holding himself responsible for the passing of their late owner, a burden all of them wished he would take off his shoulders. Somehow in the poor bunny’s head, he had convinced himself he could have prevented Gramps’ death. Noticed the signs of the impending heart attack sooner, or taken on more of the old man’s chores no matter how much he’d get yelled at for it.
But the reality of the situation would remain the same. The heart attack would have still happened, and no amount of wishing otherwise would have led to a different outcome. Shortly before that fateful day, they had all noticed Gramps slowing down, ever so slightly, and the change of his scent. He assured them it was a light cold, nothing more, and that he would take it easy. But deep down, each of them had known better.
Trying to give Jungkook time to work out his feelings was the plan. It had only been a week, and grief wasn’t linear anyway. They wanted to let him come to the conclusion he wasn’t to blame in his own time while offering him support.
“It’s past two in the afternoon,” Yoongi grumbled, sounding fairly annoyed, his thick tail swiping once across the floor. Of course, some of them were running low on patience. “The least he can do is get up and come eat with us, then go lay back down. But a shower probably wouldn’t kill him either.”
“He’s depressed, Yoongi. Gramps was here one minute, gone the next. And Jungkook was right there after it happened. There’s still a lot he needs to process.” Hoseok reasoned.
“Okay, well somebody go get him so he can process on a full stomach at least. Up until a week ago the bun was eating like he was in his third trimester of pregnancy, now he’s just nibbling at whatever I send up. It’s starting to piss me off to see all that food go to waste.” The words were harsh, but the three of them had been living with the mountain lion far too long not to see through the bluster. Yoongi was as worried as they all were. He sometimes made a separate meal just for Jungkook with all his favorites in an attempt to get him to eat a little bit more.
“I’ll go, hyung,” Taehyung volunteered, catching the big cat hybrid’s gaze of approval before he changed direction for the stairs. The older man said a quiet thank you, and added something about bringing the other members of their pack down if he saw them.
Taehyung ascended the creaky, spiraling staircase of the three-story farmhouse. For being such a large house, it was as cozy as a small log cabin on a winter’s eve. It never felt imposing and stuffy, like his first owners’ home had been with its air of emptiness.
This was a home Gramps had built not very long before meeting them. He liked to say he had a good intuition that all the extra space he had no use for when it was built, would be given purpose. And sure enough he found Seokjin, then Taehyung, followed by Yoongi, and the others trickled in steadily, until the big farmhouse was always loud and homey.
The third floor was mostly recreational— a game room, a movie room, even a nice home gym for Jungkook and whoever felt like joining him. The second floor housed them, their rooms close, just like they preferred.
Whoever didn’t want to sleep alone for any reason ranging from bad nightmares to general clinginess could stroll to the room across from theirs or right next door and climb into bed to snuggle down with a packmate. Gramps’ room was the only one facing the stairs, far down at the end of the hall.
Growing up, they had fun pretending they were in a cartoon, running from room to room chaotically and trying to startle Gramps by popping up from a door he didn’t expect, sometimes succeeding and sometimes getting frightened themselves (especially Hoseok and Jin).
Each step felt so heavy, and the hallway felt so long and simultaneously not long enough as the dog approached Gramps’ door, already sensing the sadness emanating from inside. Taehyung missed the Jungkook who wrestled with him and played pranks with him, even annoyed him from time to time.
They had lost Gramps and now, he really felt like they were losing themselves. It was no wonder, since he had been the only safe human for most of their lives. The world outside the farm was not as nice. They had to wear collars whenever they had a group outing, so none of them could be snatched up and carted off by hybrid control.
It reminded him of something strange Gramps had said a year or two ago, all of them outside enjoying the spring sunshine that day.
Jin set out the lunch he’d whipped up, Namjoon read in the shade while Hoseok played with Yoongi’s tail and he chased Jungkook and Jimin around.
The makane trio collapsed on top of each other in the sweet smelling grass, giggling and playfully nipping ears. He and Jimin joined together to pin Jungkook, who, despite being designated a prey hybrid, had muscles to spare. Competitive to a fault in their little games, Jungkook only stayed down for a minute before he was kicking up and falling on both of them with a triumphant laugh. Blunt teeth tugged at one of Taehyung’s floppy ears, but it didn’t hurt, the solid weight of the bunny’s strong body draped over him as he was half-lying on Jimin. When they realized this, Taehyung and Jungkook scrambled back, not wanting to accidentally be rough with their packmate’s wings. “Come on kids, time to eat.” Yoongi called. They all obediently sprinted over, nearly toppling into one another. Jin rolled his eyes good-naturedly, instructing them to use the hand sanitizer he’d brought along before accepting their meals.
As they chowed down, less than refined with no one to impress, Taehyung heard Jin ask Gramps if the food wasn’t to his liking.
“Nah, not that at all. You did a fine job like always Jinnie-boy.” The penguin preened at the compliment, his fair skin going pink. “But I’ve got a question for you boys, and I want you to answer honestly. Don’t worry about holding back on account of my feelings.”
“Why so cryptic, Gramps?” Yoongi asked, setting his chopsticks down to give the man his complete attention.
“Cause these needs saying and it’s important. I know I adopted each of you boys from some sticky situations. Some of you have spent most of your lives here. And I never was a spring chicken, but that’s beside the point I guess. I’m thinkin’ I did you a disservice, keeping you secluded here on the farm.”
“We like it here!” Jimin protested as soon as Gramps paused for a breath. His colorful wings ruffled out, indignant at the very notion that any of them could feel otherwise. “Why wouldn’t we? You provide us with all our needs, and we’re family.” Various voices joined in to agree.
“He’s right, HanGyeol-ssi.” Namjoon’s baritone cut through all of them. He hadn’t called Gramps that in ages. It was the only way he would address him for a month after arriving, but once Han-Gyeol drilled ‘Gramps’ into his head, he used the affectionate nickname as freely as the rest of them. That meant that Namjoon wanted to impress upon their elder how serious they were being. “You may not see yourself as our owner, but you’re our human. You taking us in, giving us this life, it means more than we can express.” The others dipped their heads in solemn nods. “Plus, you’re not exactly keeping us in chains. If we wanted to go, we wouldn’t be here.” A dimple appeared in his left cheek as he smirked.
Gramps tipped his head back, his sharp crackle of a laugh setting everyone more at ease. “Fair enough, and I did ask for honesty, eh? Nice to know you stick around and mooch off me cause ya want to.” he teased. “But I had to ask. The world’s changing. More humans are taking their heads out of their asses these days. I hear beyond the barrier, hybrids are getting more rights every year. Soon it won’t be mandatory for them to wear collars in public if they don’t want. They’ll be able to carry identification cards.”
Taehyung’s ears twitched in interest, the others seemingly as intrigued as he was. The farm was situated just past the old barrier, one that separated the half of the city mostly inhabited by hybrids from the one with predominately human inhabitants. Nothing said humans couldn’t live amongst hybrids, or vice versa, but before any of them were born, it was decided that maybe the best way to keep the peace after the emergence of hybrids was through separation.
At least, that was until hybrids and humans could come to a better understanding. They couldn’t even come together and decide how to govern on one accord. Most humans that chose to make their home amongst the hybrid population kept to themselves, or they already had hybrids in the family whom they wanted to be comfortable. When they asked long ago what made Han-Gyeol purchase twenty acres of land in the hybrid district before he actually had hybrids, he said that hybrids always struck him as being above drama more than people. All they really wanted was peace and equality. Humans wanting to live in their district just had to pass a background check, prove they weren’t linked to any hate crimes against hybrids and hadn’t ever been convicted for abusing one.
There also wasn’t such a thing as true “ownership” of a hybrid this side of the barrier. If a human and hybrid chose each other, the process was a lot more like when a human adopted an orphaned child, or vice versa, when a hybrid adopted themselves a human family member. Things were of course much more oppressive on the human side. That’s the side all of them had suffered on.
“I know none of you have had an easy hand out there,” Gramps said, like a mind-reader, “but if you ever got the urge to set out on your own and see life beyond this farm, I wouldn’t stop you.”
“Where’s this coming from?” Jin whispered. “Are we a nuisance?”
“You’ve been slacking on your chores too much for video games, Kookie.” Taehyung pretended to scold.
Jungkook’s mouth popped open as he clutched his face in silent horror, making them all laugh.
“Thanks for humoring an old man.” Gramps sighed. “Just promise me none of ya are going to sit around in the dumps when I’m gone. Find you a nice human if you decide to take in another one. Preferably a newer model with low mileage. If it’s a pretty lady, even better.” He winked, to which they all groaned. Gramps…always the jokester.
That was then and this was now, when the strange advice seemed more relevant than ever. Taehyung knocked softly, hearing Jungkook shuffle around as he more than likely sat up from the cocoon he’d made of the blankets.
Adopting a human, huh? That was all well and good to suggest, but Taehyung didn’t even know how to keep a pet. Sure, they shared the farm with some chickens, ducks, a few goats, even a horse and sheep and two pigs…but none of them were pets. The hybrids considered them just as much residents of the farm as they were. Friends. Their animal sides, even though some of them were the natural predators of the lesser animals, made them sympathetic to the barnyard creatures in a way few humans besides Gramps could be. It was absurd to think of keeping a puppy, when he was partially a dog genetically himself. A human…the member of their family they had lost was a human. And nothing and no one could ever replace their Gramps or his impact on them.
But maybe…just maybe… Taehyung thought of the gloominess that shrouded the whole house. How normally mild-mannered and patient Yoongi was more huffy than ever, how Jungkook had retreated into himself, how Jin had stopped telling jokes and all of Namjoon’s time was spent in the library or writing depressing poems…he knew what he had to do, for all of them.
He had to adopt a new human.
~~~
(Y/N) unwrapped her burger, salivating as the smell hit her full on. She currently had the whole bench to herself, free to set down her tote bag and unwind a little. Silently sending up thanks for the food, the young woman took a big bite, groaning happily as she started to chew. It was the little things that made life bearable at times. Like munching on a juicy burger in the peace of her favorite local park.
Bit of an overcast day, but that didn’t stop the people who were walking along the trail, or unwinding on benches or blankets just like her. Some even had their hybrids with them.
There was also a girl throwing a ball to a dachshund, who raced after it as fast as those stubby legs would allow, and (Y/N) was sure if the pup was a hybrid or an ordinary dog. It could be hard to distinguish at times, especially from a distance.
She sighed, trying not to be too consumed in thoughts of the past, when she and her childhood dog had done the same.
Ha-Kun was a loyal mutt. She and her father had found and rescued him when she was in middle school. (Y/N) remembering taking the shivering puppy home and getting him dry after fishing him out of a river. Instantly, the young girl fell in love with his doleful brown eyes and laughably long ears. There was no telling exactly what was in his genetics, but basset hound probably featured prominently.
That was about the time when (Y/N) made another discovery—her gift. Touching the dog had sent sparks skittering through her fingertips. She’d assumed it was static after rubbing him vigorously with a towel. But as she reached to stroke his head, something strange occurred.
In that moment, (Y/N) could truly feel everything the dog felt. His contentment, the fear that was melting into gratitude, and a newfound sense of devotion. Running to retrieve her dad, she tried to explain what happened, words likely making little sense judging by the confusion on his face.
After he had calmed her down, (Y/N) tried telling him what happened once again, and her father listened with intrigue. Returning to the kitchen together, they found the pup still wrapped in towels and cozy on the kitchen table, smacking his lips in a yawn at them. Giggling, (Y/N) decided then and there he looked too at home to abandon back outside, where he might find himself in another predicament, and her dad agreed. Their new family member was named ‘Ha-Kun’ shortly after, and he made their small family complete over the years. It turned out (Y/N) truly did have a special ability. She was an empath. Specifically, one who could feel and understand the emotions of animals.
It had come as mildly surprising at first, but her father shrugged it off, hypothesizing maybe it came from her mother’s side. Magic was uncommon in the modern era, but not unheard of. People still cropped up now and then who were born with some special talent or another. Making plants grow, running at super-speed, teleporting, and talking to animals.
(Y/N) couldn’t talk to them per se. She had never been able to crack the code to understand ‘words’, but understanding their feelings was very close to that. One touch and everything in its head flowed right through her. Her keen knack for getting them had made her decide to become an animal behaviorist.
Her profession was rewarding, and it felt like her calling, traveling everywhere from households to zoos in a bid to make sure animals had a voice through her. With insight into how they felt made it easier to deduce what was happening and why their behavior may have suddenly changed. The work paid handsomely, but well, it did get a bit lonely.
Ha-Kun had finally slowed down too much to play fetch, and then too much to go on long walks. He ate less, he slept more, and the day she touched his back and peeked into his mind, just as she had so many times before, it broke her heart. That day was a blur.
(Y/N) tried her hardest not to dwell on it. But there was crying. So much crying. Ha-Kun was sad to be leaving her all alone, but she assured him he had been by her side as long as he could manage, and she would never forget him. Her dad met her at the vet’s for moral support, and to say his own goodbyes. They’d watched Ha-Kun drift off into a peaceful sleep together.
That was eight months ago, and (Y/N) still felt the echoes of that loss. There were times when she came home to her empty apartment and felt his absence so profoundly, it was all she could do not to sink to her knees and sob. Ha-Kun had been her best friend, her confidant, there for her always. Each time work had been draining, a blind date her friend set her up on went horribly wrong, or things otherwise weren’t going her way, she could come home and tell him all about it. Her power let her know that animals truly did understand far more than people gave them credit for, and Ha-Kun was a sweet, supportive soul.
People in her life who meant well made suggestions, saying maybe she should try adopting another pet, or maybe even adopt a hybrid. And (Y/N) had considered it, knowing her old friend would rest easier to know she was opening her heart to a new friend. But the few times she had half-heartedly visited hybrid adoption agencies or pet shelters, the spark of connection to make the leap was never there. (Y/N) would never do a hybrid or a pet the disservice of bringing them home when her heart wasn’t in it. She believed both hybrids and animals deserved only homes who were fully committed to them.
Maybe one day, her soul would match with another’s again. Looking down in her lap, (Y/N) realized she’d let her burger grow cold, nibbling it with less enthusiasm so it wouldn’t go to waste. This was the first time she had been back to this park in eight months. It was one of the last places she and Ha-Kun had been together in his final days, and for that reason, she’d thought it best to get some distance from the spot for a while.
Watching everyone happy, whether with their significant others or hybrids, was bittersweet. (Y/N) would never wish the pain that still lingered on any of them. They were strangers who had done nothing to her. But would it be unreasonable if she wished she had a reason to join them again?
Her eyes focused on the girl and dachshund again, the dog slowing down, finally tired after a long hour and a half of chasing its ball. It looked like he wanted just one more throw, and his owner seemed to understand and obliged. It was fascinating watching an animal so small work up that kind of speed.
But as he took off again, a second blur appeared from nowhere, outrunning him to dart for the ball and snatch it up without hesitation. The dachshund was so caught off guard he slipped, eating dirt as he tumbled through the grass. The second canine, much larger than his stout frame, paused to stand over him, head dipping in a show of concern. The dachshund scrambled to his feet and shook himself off as the owner ran over.
She approached warily, unsure about the intentions of the unknown dog, but wanting to check on her own pet. (Y/N) could now see the other dog was a gorgeous golden retriever. As the girl approached, it released the ball from his mouth and nudged it toward her. Bemused but still cautious, she picked it up, and her dachshund trotted over to stand behind her.
The golden dropped to a crouch, fluffy tail an elegant flag waving through the air. Ah, clumsy as his approach had been, (Y/N) was certain that he wanted to join their game. Shaking her head, the girl scooped up her dachshund, dropping the ball at the golden’s feet and walking away. His ears drooped a little, but he picked up the abandoned toy and began to trot around the park.
(Y/N) watched curiously as he made his way around the area, approaching various people and hybrids. Some seemed interested in the dog, and offered him a few quick pats before turning back to their affairs.
Others ignored him entirely, and a few times an agitated hybrid or grumpy dog had blocked their person and stood their ground, making it clear he wasn’t welcome in their space. Each rejection seemed to discourage the poor dog, his tail falling lower and lower. (Y/N)’s heart really went out to him.
Though she couldn’t help but wonder where he had come from, and where his owner was. Surely a golden retriever with such nice muscle definition rippling beneath his glossy, well-groomed coat had a home.
One that made sure he was fed, groomed and properly exercised. As she continued admiring him, his eyes swung in her direction. Human and dog stood still, just observing each other unhurriedly. Then, mind made up, he was coming closer, ball still held in his mouth, tail raising optimistically. (Y/N) couldn’t help but grin. He was no quitter, that was for sure.
Reaching the bench, he was so close she could now see and admire what a stunning creature he was up close. This was the kind of dog that dominated the ring at dog shows.
He radiated warmth, and she had to admit (Y/N) wasn’t sure she had ever seen a golden retriever so silky. It was his eyes that did her in, though.
They were the deepest, most soulful blue. She knew enough about breeds to know that blue-eyes weren’t possible in a purebred golden, even though he looked like one in every other way. Maybe there was some throwback in his genes, some physically non-evident breed making itself known.
Whatever it was, he was no less beautiful. His eyes shining, he eased his head towards her lap. At first, she thought he was going for the remains of her burger, which she had all but forgotten about at his appearance. But it quickly became clear he had another objective altogether. (Y/N) smiled gently, cupping her hands and holding them out.
The dog readily dropped his head into them, and (Y/N) couldn’t contain her loud gasp, nearly recoiling. The emotions that filtered into her… It was such a strong mix of grief and loneliness. He reminded her…of herself.
“Oh, buddy…” she breathed, her eyes feeling heavy and wet. The canine whimpered, dropping the ball on the bench and just standing there with his head on her lap. She used her thumbs to stroke under his eyes, as if she were wiping away unshed tears. The golden whined a few more times, but made no move to remove his head from her lap, sitting on his haunches and pushing in further until his snout touched her stomach. (Y/N) knew that even if she stood up, he would still be at waist-level with her. He was a good size for a golden retriever, but she was also pretty petite for a human. “How long have you been feeling like this?” She asked him.
The golden slowly withdrew his head, huffing a short bark in response. More than ever, she wished she could do more than understand animal emotions. If only she knew exactly what pain was ailing his heart.
There was still no one in sight coming to claim this guy, and his heart called out to her too strongly for her to get up and leave. She had no more appointments for the afternoon anyway. Reaching for the ball he had placed on the bench, (Y/N) showed it to him and watched a little light return to his eyes. “Would me tossing this for you cheer you up a little? I noticed you’ve been trying to play with someone for a while now.”
More light trickled back into those expressive baby blues, a slow wag setting his tail in motion. Taking that as a yes, (Y/N) stood, and sure enough, the dog’s head was at her waist. Putting her tote bag on and throwing her trash away, (Y/N) moved out into the grass with him so there’d be more room to throw. He stood at the ready, and she hoped he wouldn’t be too disappointed with her weak tosses.
When she let the ball fly and he took off like a shot, all she could do was gape. In no time flat the pretty dog was barreling back, and the ball was back in her possession. “Whoa, you really live up to your reputation as a retriever.” She praised. His tongue lolled out of his mouth, eyes squinting in pride. “Wanna do it again?”
The strong bark and way he pawed the ground in anticipation made a full smile break out across her lips. (Y/N) lost count of how many times she watched his sail across the ground like he was floating and return with the ball in his grip. Both their cares seemed to melt away, the dog becoming more animated with every throw, and (Y/N) remembering the joy of playing with a pet in the park. He was much speedier than Ha-Kun ever was, but the fun of watching her old friend bring back the ball was the way his stubby legs maneuvered. This guy was all grace and speed, covering the distance to her in long strides.
(Y/N) felt like it was just the two of them, existing to play with each other, until something cold brushed her nose, and she looked up to see snowflakes drifting down from the dark sky.
It was harder to ascertain the exact time they had been out here. It was a dreary day already and she had come here around lunchtime. With the shorter days of winter, it could be approaching sunset for all she knew. Which meant…
Her new friend looked at her, and his tail dropped, all the energy bleeding right out of him. He knew, she realized.
“I,” (Y/N) swallowed, voice feeling thicker than it should. Why did the thought of saying goodbye sting so badly. She barely knew this dog. And there was no way he was just some stray. He probably got lost, stumbled here, and was too distracted by the prospect of playing to sniff his way home. She likely should have been more focused on helping reunite him with his owner than indulging both of their lonely hearts. “It’s getting late.” She told him.
He barked once, staring behind him, towards the trail that would soon be lit by the light posts coming on. It cut close to the woods, but the area was safe, so even in the evenings, joggers still got in their last bit of running for the day.
Unsure what he wanted, (Y/N) watched him lope off toward the trail, stop, and turn back around. When she remained frozen, he barked a bit more urgently, running to her and nudging at her. She stumbled, able to tell even when being gentle, this dog was strong. “I could be completely off base, but you’re acting like I’m supposed to be following you.”
More urgent barks, and it clicked. That’s exactly what he wanted.
“Um…do you actually know your way home? Do you want me to walk you there?” A calmer bark. “Is it far?”
To her utter astonishment, the dog shook his head. For the first time since meeting him, (Y/N) wondered if she was wrong. What if he was never just some pretty dog, but a hybrid? It might explain those eyes.
And, if that was the case, she should probably be more cautious about following him to parts unknown. Friendly and playful and lonely as he had been, a hybrid was very much in touch with their human side. If he had any ill intentions, what would she do? He might be able to overpower her if he shifted.
A long whine broke her from her thoughts, and he delicately touched his cold nose to the back of her hand, his eyes nothing short of pleading. Puppy dog eyes weren’t fair coming from a master. There was a bit of desperation she could sense from him at the touch. He really, really wanted her to come along. (Y/N) remembered the initial sense that she was meeting a kindred soul, which caused her to feel such a fast attachment to him in the first place. For whatever reason, she wanted to trust him.
“Alright,” she adjusted her tote bag and took a step forward. The golden retriever spun in happy circles. “Lead the way.”
Little Leopard [1]
"If it weren't for seven men that fateful night you wouldn't be here now. They showed you good people did exist. That life can be great, that you can be loved and cared for. These seven men were the men you loved and cherished. These men were your mates. Your safety blanket. And to them. You were their Little Leopard."
Author Note: I wrote this when I had a sudden urge to write ad this is the outcome, I hope you guys enjoy it, it's quite depressing but I promise there is a happy ending and that themes do get brighter the more you read, it's not my best but I did my best since I haven't written properly for a while! Our Good Girl will be released soon I promise!
This was it. This was the end of the miserable thing you called life. Finally sweet sweet release from the years of abuse and torment. It was finally ending, your body had enough, you were giving up. You had enough and it seems the universe has had enough of you too.
For years you had been bought, sold, traded to different owners. Not one treated you well. Being a rare breed of hybrid caused you to be shipped off constantly to different owners, either for money or simply for your new owner’s entertainment. It had been an endless cycle since you were a cub. Torn from your parents so young that you can’t even remember them.
Your final owner had been the worst, you were used to the poor treatment but this time had been too much. Beaten black and blue to the point of barely conscious, he thought you were already dead, demanding his bodyguard to dispose of you, which leads to where you are now, a bloody pulp, curled up in a glacial and damp alleyway, shivering and barely able to stay awake, life feeling like it’s being sucked out of you, there was no one to help, everyone inside from the pouring rain and night sky. It’s not like they would anyway. You couldn’t cry out for help even if you wanted to. So here you are, accepting death's kiss willingly. Your misery was finally about to en-
Your hybrid ears twitch at the sound of voices, two to be precise. You could barely open your eyes, you just wanted to give up. You didn’t want any more suffering yet you prepared yourself for it.
“No, I swear I saw someone dump something here Joonie! They looked so sketchy I just want to make sure it’s nothing harmful! Kids walk this street all the time, what if it’s something that could hurt them?”
“Jimin, if that's the case then we should call the police to deal with this instead. Are you one hundred per cent sure you saw someone dump something here?”
“Yes, Namjoon! Are you doubting me? Let’s see what it was first before we do anything, we don’t want to waste their time if there is nothin- Is that blood?”
The two men were immediately much more alert and worried, the tallest pushing the youngest behind him as they peer properly into the alleyway, turning their lights on their phones on and gasping in horror seeing the small malnourished body curled up and fighting for their life.
“Oh my god Joonie it’s a hybrid, they’re hurt badly, we gotta help them.” The smallest says heartbreaking at the sight. He would never understand what people get out of hurting something so unique.
“Her. It’s a female, I can’t tell what hybrid breed she is, her fur is too dirty. Jimin go to the car, get the blanket we leave in there, she’s ice cold.” Namjoon orders and without any protests, the man rushes away to grab it.
“Hey there, stay with me okay? My boyfriend and I are going to help you okay? You’re safe now, I’m Namjoon, what’s your name?” Namjoon says softly, hesitant to touch you in case he hurt you more, he didn’t want to scare you more than you already were. You part your lips and let out a tiny humourless laugh making Namjoon frown.
“T-That’s what t-they all say, g-go ahead f-finish t-their job, e-end it please, make i-it quick.” You choke out, your ribs were most definitely broken. Namjoon felt like he could have thrown up at your words, you sounded so broken, done with life. He immediately shakes his head at you, gently moving some hair out of your face, he wasn’t going to give up on you. He begins to panic as he watches your eyes roll into the back of your head, finally succumbing to the exhaustion and pain, just as Jimin appears again.
“I got it! Here.” He pants handing it to Namjoon who quickly wraps your limp body in it and scoops you up into his arms turning to Jimin and breathing out,
“Drive us home. Now.”
------
“What’s taking them so long? They only went to pick up some files from the office.” Jungkook pouts looking at his watch then back up to the window where had been staring out for a good half an hour already. He was concerned. Namjoon and Jimin were never late home. Ever.
“They’ll be home soon, I’m sure Jungkook-ah, they could have got caught in traffic or they’re driving slow because of the rain?” Seokjin says reassuringly, giving the youngest a soft smile and nodding his head over to the dinner table.
“Come help me set up for dinner?”
Jungkook hesitates but nods, getting up from where he sat and beginning to gather cutlery to place on the table, trying to distract his mind from worrying after two of his boyfriends, looking up when he hears someone coming down the stairs noticing it was Yoongi.
“I’ve rung both of them and I’ve gone straight to voicemail. I might head to the office to see if they’re still ther-'' Yoongi starts but is cut off when the front door is slammed open, revealing a dishevelled Jimin and behind him, a serious-looking Namjoon, cradling a body close to his chest.
“Jin Hyung we need your help, we found her in an alleyway, she’s in pretty bad shape and ice cold.” Jimin breathes out, heart pounding, the entire drive home was stressful, he would have thought you were dead if it weren’t for Namjoon reassuring him that you had a pulse.
“We can’t take her to the hospital, she’ll most likely be taken back to who did this to her. We can’t. I can’t tell what hybrid species she is. Jin help her.” Namjoon pleads. He was a CEO of a hybrid protection company. He refused to let this happen to you again. He fought for your rights, he wasn’t about to let the system fail you.
“O-Okay, oh god she’s so thin, Yoongi go start a bath, not warm, cold, too hot will hurt her, we’ll progressively warm it up so she can get warmth, the bath will help me find where she’s bleeding from, Jungkook, get my first aid kit, quickly, Jimin, get a pair of your clothes ready for her once she’s patched up, she’ll fit best in yours. Taehyung! Get our biggest towel we have, put it in the dryer to warm it up!” Jin orders, everyone moving to do as they were told, Taehyung’s feet pattering from upstairs before rushing down the stairs, towel in hand and gaping at the sight in front of him but not having time to question it as the current three eldest in the house rush up the stairs.
“What…?”
Yoongi quickly fills the bath and feels the water as it begins to fill the bath to make sure it was the right temperature, quickly taking your body from Namjoon, hissing from the ice-cold feeling of your skin and slowly placing you into the bath, jumping as you flinch but make no move to wake up. It was the first sign of life they had seen.
“What the fuck happened to her? What sick bastard does this? She might as well befucking dead.” Yoongi snarls angrily as he gently holds your head up so it doesn't go under the water, gently pouring water over your head to loosen all the grime and blood matted into your hair and fur. It disgusted him that people saw hybrid’s so lowly. Like pets.
“I don’t know what’s happened or who’s done this but hopefully when she wakes up if she's ready she’ll tell us.” Namjoon says keeping out the way as Jin and Yoongi begin to pull the torn and worn clothes off you, being respectful not to let their eyes wander over places they knew they should not see without consent.
“Hopefully...Namjoon, call Hobi, tell him he needs to come home asap, maybe he can help figure out how these were caused before she tells us, we need his knowledge on how to go about this, from a law enforcement perspective.” Jin says, hissing seeing how bad that damage really was now you were being cleaned. He knew it was bad, but he wasn’t expecting it to be this bad.
Namjoon nods before exiting the bathroom and bumping into Jungkook who peers in shyly, grimacing seeing the once clear water, crimson, placing the first aid kit on the counter and staring at your tail in awe,
“Hey Hyung’s look...She’s a leopard.”
Yoongi looks down and lets a small smile appear on his face. You were a feline. Cute. He strokes your hair letting Jin begin to patch you up, murmuring,
“Poor little cub, you must have suffered so much. You’re safe now. No one will hurt you again.”
-----
You groan as you begin to stir awake, you were aching everywhere, were you dead? Everything felt soft and warm below you. Nothing compared to the cold floor of the cage you used to reside in. You were...comfortable?
You peel your eyes open and hiss at the headache you now had, looking around, sitting up in surprise, whimpering at the pain in your body too quickly. You were in fact, not dead. You were in someone’s home, many scents filling your nose now that you were fully aware of your surroundings. They had a gentle and soft scent to them but that didn’t mean you trusted them this soon. Your heart was racing. You couldn’t suffer anymore, you didn’t want to obey another ‘master’ or ‘mistress’. You wanted freedom. This wasn’t happening. Why were you here? What is going on? Whose clothes were these? Who dressed you?
Your head snaps over to the door as it begins to click open and a tall man comes in carefully, eyes widening when he sees you sat up, fully aware of your surroundings. You had been in and out of consciousness for hours. He opens his mouth to speak but flinches slightly as you growl in defence shrinking into yourself, ears pinning back and your tail swaying warningly.
“Hey, hey, hey, it’s okay I’m not going to hurt you kitty, I’ll stay over here ‘kay? I promise you’re safe, no one is going to hurt you. My boyfriends and I have been looking after you, you were pretty hurt love, we’re just helping you, nothing more, I’ve just come to check on you, you’ve been out for a few hours. I’m Taehyung, I’m a hybrid representative lawyer, I swear to you right now, no harm is going to come your way whilst in this house, can I know your name?.” Taehyung says gently, holding his hands up so you could see them, so you knew he meant no harm and he begins to relax seeing your guard slowly come down. No one had ever been so respectful of your personal space or even spoke to you so gently. Your instincts were telling you to leave, having been fucked over multiple times but your gut was telling you to stay, no one had ever been so nice, maybe he was different.
“Y/N…” You whisper softly but Taehyung hears it and smiles at you sweetly.
“That's a pretty name Y/N, you should lay down though, you’re pretty hurt like I said, you need the rest okay? I promise none of us will come near you until you want us too but Jin might have to change your bandages and then he’ll be right back out of your bubble okay? Here I brought some food up in case you woke up, which thankfully you have, is it okay if I come closer to give you this?” He says and you shrink back into yourself, staring at him intensely.
“How do I know if you’ve not drugged it? Why am I getting that? I’m a hybrid. I should be given pellets…” You frown and Taehyung’s heart sinks. He felt ill. Just how much have you been through? To think the food is drugged? To think you’re not allowed human food.
“Here look, I’ll eat a bit and I’ll sit here just to prove to you it’s not drugged. No, no hybrid pellets, they’re inhumane, you’re part human too, human food is just as much yours as it is ours okay?” Taehyung says, making sure you watch him take a mouthful and shows to you that he swallowed it once he chewed on it before, slowly handing it to you, not wanting to make any sudden moves to startle you and sitting down, back against the door just like he had promised, smiling as you hesitantly take your first bite before beginning to wolf it down, the hunger now hitting you like a ton of bricks. Taehyung would make sure to bring you a second plate and a drink once you finished. He watched you carefully and he was already picking up on habits you had, how you kept looking up from your food to make sure he hadn’t gotten closer or how you keep the plate close to you like someone was going to take it off you.
Yeah. This was going to be a long way to recovery. There was a lot to work on. But none of them was going to give up on you.
Oh no here we go again!!!
I keep thinking about Jimin's first heat in my mafia!reader x hybrid!bts story. It's a beautiful moment, definitely the sweetest smut I've ever conjured up in my head, but there's SO much involved that I just HAVE to talk about it.
*nsfw under the cut, babes*
Nothing TOO graphic, but if you are uncomfortable with talks of sex and sexual experiences, then please do not read. I'll post another lil warning right before we get into the *juicy* stuff.
So, before Jimin goes into heat, the pack would notice him acting... weird. Not his usual slapstick humor or general quirkiness weird, but just a tad bit off.
They could blame this on a few things, though. There was the fact that they would still be adjusting to their new life, new home, and YOU. The fact that they were feeling some sense of security for the first time in their lives.
Or even, simply, the fact that male omegas were rare and most certainly the least studied group of all when it came to subgenders. Subgenders, in general, were still vastly misunderstood and often misrepresented.
With this in mind, it's no wonder the pack brushed it off when Jimin started acting unusually clingy towards you a few days before his heat. The heat they would fail to notice was coming, mind you. Namjoon and Yoongi would feel especially bad when it did come, being the pack's always protective Alphas.
Jimin would be no better himself, either. If he had to point out a moment he first started noticing something was off, he would think back to the night you brought them to their first work event.
It would be at a nightclub, and although the boys would think it a weird place to have a work event, you would offer no other explanation. True to your nature, you would tell them to just enjoy and not worry about silly things.
Not to get into too much detail (because otherwise, this would be entirely TOO long even though it's already going to be VERY long), Jimin would first start to feel weird as he watches you grab the lady who got too handsy with him and drag her outside. He thinks, at that point, that it's simply because of the pheromones you're releasing.
You see, humans can release pheromones that exude dominance and submission much like an Alpha vs Omega, and yet it's still entirely different. Jimin's mind would be flooded with your dominant pheromones the moment you turned to confront the lady. He would only assume this is why he suddenly feels so safe in your presence.
In the following days, the pack would notice this shift in Jimin, this *weird* behavior. It would start with him lingering around you while you sip your morning coffee, but would quickly spill into something sweeter. Jimin would find himself sitting in your office with you, or even curled up on the couch next to you on the off chance you had the time to sit around and watch movies.
Jin would observe this behavior with conflict in his heart. He would be happy that Jimin seems to be comfortable around you, as at this point he would also start to feel warm towards you. But he would also feel torn between protecting Jimin and feeling hurt at the thought of losing him. Hoseok would comfort him when he brought it up to him one night, whispering comforting words into his wonderful packmate's ear.
Taehyung would stay quiet when he noticed Jimin slip away from the pack to go find you. He would refrain from talking to Namjoon about how he feels in all of this, never offering more than a "its fine, hyung" when Namjoon asked. Taehyung didn't know what to think, so he often brushed it off and simply didn't think about it at all.
And so, the pack chose to dismiss this behavior, never assuming it would have anything to do with Jimin's fast approaching heat. The same heat that wasn't supposed to happen for weeks.
The same heat that hits their nose like a burning fire when they come home from shopping with the bodyguards one evening.
*okay hehe sexual content inbound! I warned ya!*
The sweet scent of Jimin in heat, one like creme brulee and rose wine, would hit their noses at the same time the sound of a moan that fell from your lips hits their ears.
It's almost comical the way their stomachs all drop at the same time. Well, it would be, if it didn't sent a jolt of panic straight up their spine.
Yoongi would be the first to move, pushing past Jin after dropping his bags. He would hear someome tell Jungkook not to follow, but he would be so focused on trying to get to Jimin that he would ignore the sound of the youngest following closely behind.
The entire pack knew what would be going through his head. They had to get to Jimin, protect him, his heat came too soon, protect, protect, protect-
What if you had already found out and hurt Jimin? The thought would hit him at the same time as Jimin's soft whimpering hit his ears. Any other time, he would have reveled in the sound. Now it just propelled him forward.
When the boys caught up to Yoongi, he would be standing just a few feet away from the doorway, the side door to the grand living room. The scent of Jimin, sweat, and arousal would taint the air. It was strongest here, which meant that Jimin was in the room.
Before Namjoon could question why Yoongi had stopped, he would be met with the sight of you and Jimin on the living room floor. The boys would all stop in their tracks and stare, wide-eyed and pupils blown at the scene before them.
There you were, layed out beneath Jimin, not even fully undressed. Your nightgown, the one you changed into when you came home in the evenings, was hiked up just above your navel.
Jimin was beside himself, his cock buried so deep in your heat that all he could do was continue to roll his hips into yours. Half lidded eyes would rake down your body where the two of you were connected, and he would watch lazily as he pulled out only slightly before bottoming out again. Heat would cloud his mind, but as he locked eyes with you again, he would be reminded how safe he felt with you.
How he had sought you out for this kind of comfort when you found him in the living room earlier that day, shaking and trembling with want. He didn't even register it was his heat when he had pleaded for you to help him.
You would have noticed the boys watching if you weren't so enthralled in the way Jimin filled you up. As his hand grows your hip, the other one splayed across your chest, you shuddered at the feeling of his cock dragging along your walls. He was reaching parts of you that you didn't even know you had, stretching you out deliciously.
The boys would silently slip away from the door, tearing their eyes away when Jimin's hips took on a faster speed, deciding that they had seen enough. They would all move to the room next to the grand living room, far enough away that they couldn't see but could still hear.
Taehyung felt out of place as he listened to moans and cries fall from your lips, followed by groans and whispers from Jimin. Some part of him wanted to run in and tear you away from his packmate, too scared of any harm coming to him. Another part of him, the part he would end up listening to, would be so stunned that he would feel conflicted in interfering. Especially after listening to what was going on in the room next to them.
Your voice would break their thoughts as you state, "Jimin, I swear to god- If you cum right now, I'm never letting you cum again."
The silence in between your words and the whimper that rings out from Jimin's chest would leave the boys void of any thoughts.
"I'm sorry, I just-" Jimin would sound worn out and high strung in the most delicious of ways as he begged, "I need- please, please let me- I just need-"
They would hear you comfort him, whispering words of encouragement as you shifted positions. They could hear you use Jimin's own slick as lubrication when you sank back down on top of him, riding him and eating up all the sounds he was making.
It's amazing how much the two of you could talk and communicate while you were making him lose his mind. It was jarring, actually, how many times you stopped to make sure he was okay, ask if you could continue, tell him he was beautiful.
The pack would find themselves mystified by how opposite you were of what they had expected you to be. The way you were praising Jimin and asking for his continuous consent, or even just asking him about what he needed from you was.... something they hadn't experienced before. Not from people outside of their pack, and certainly not their supposed "master." Jungkook would nearly growl at this thought.
At some point, they would even hear you both talk about pups after the word tumbles out of his mouth while he spills hot, white cum along your insides.
Namjoon's ears would perk when you say, "Well I can definitely pretend to breed you, but I can't give you pups, baby. Besides, is that even possible? Wouldn't you need an alpha?"
You would gasp, followed by a teasing, "I bet you look so pretty bouncing on Namjoon's cock, hm? Oh! Did that excite you? I felt you twitch-"
It would delve into more teasing and a high pitched keen falling from their omega's lips when he came once again.
They would continue to listen in silence for hours as you teased Jimin, edging him before letting him cum. They'd listen to you chant his name when you brought yourself to your own ruin or when you let Jimin eat you out until you forgot your name. They'd nearly lose it when you'd start eating Jimin's ass out. Jimin wouldn't make sense at that point, too far gone to make any coherent sentences.
Perhaps the most perplexing, however, was the communication between the two of you, and the obvious safety Jimin felt for you. Jin wouldn't be able to wrap his mind around how he could smell Jimin's want to be around you even under the intense heat.
As the pack listened to you suggest Jimin move to your room with you, they'd have so many things running through their minds that they wouldn't notice something.
They wouldn't notice the small seed your interactions and affection towards Jimin would plant in their minds. They wouldn't notice, in the following weeks, how this seed would begin to grow into longing. Lust. And, eventually, love and protection.
It's no wonder they didn't notice. Because who would think they would come to yearn for you? That they would come to desire you to touch them, fuck them, love them?
I mean come on. Who would think by the end of the month, you'd be pegging big bad alpha Yoongi, and getting him to submit with a tug of his tail?
Well, you. You did.
The Milkmaid // pt. 1
+ Paring/ Wolf! Jungkook x reader ( milkmaid )
+ Genre/ Fluff , romance, eventual smut :)
+ Summary/ Having milk in your breast ever since you were born got you outcast from the human world but accepted in another. When you met Jungkook, your life was completely flipped over, would you choose to stay with Jungkook or part ways with him.....?
Since young you’ve had a special ability. You had milk in your breast ever since you were born. Everyone in the village stayed away from you thinking that you are a freak. Whenever you go out , you and your mother will be cast strange and disgust glances from the villagers. Unable to take the stress, your mother took you to live at the top of the mountain, where it was near the forest and far away from people. Ever since then, your live was more peaceful and quiet.
However, the nice life didn’t live long. Not long later, your mother died, leaving you all alone at the young age of 7. You were a quick-witted girl since young, you soon learnt to cook, wash, clean and survive on your own. You didn't expect some prince in the shining armor to fall in love with you and take you away to keep you safe, although it has secretly been your dream. You realized that reality is in fact much different.
Years passed and you’ve grow into a beautiful young lady with fair skin. However rough hands due to all the cooking and cleaning. You were almost sure that you would live your entire life alone until one day, there was a knock on your door. It was a windy and rainy night, with loud thunderstorms. You have decided to stay in bed all day to avoid the cold. You didn't hear the knock until there was loud banging. Surprised, you carefully walked towards the door with an axe on your right hand.
You open the door but there was no one in sight. Just as you were about to close the door, you saw a basket with a baby inside wrapped with thick blankets. Confused, you look around and took the baby in when you confirm there was no one in sight. In the basket, you saw a note: Please take care of my child, let him stay with you forever, please don’t let anyone take him away. Thank you.
More than bewildered, you took the baby in your hands, only to realize he was not a usual baby. He has a tail and ears that resemble the wolf. He also had a locket pendant that has an unusual shape to it, it looks like a flower but also has a sharp end to it. Opening it, you see the word “ Jungkook “. Assuming that it is the baby’s name, you took the necklace off thinking that it would be too dangerous for a baby to be wearing it and kept it below your pillow.
Suddenly, the baby started wailing loudly. Startled, you tried everything to calm him down, but to no avail. Could he be.... hungry? You took out your breast and warm it, massaging before putting into the baby’s mouth. He immediately latched onto your breast tightly and sucked on it needily. It hurts a little as this is the first time you’ve ever fed someone but you soon got used to it.
Days and weeks passed, the baby was growing so fast that he could already talk. You’re pretty sure he is still at the age where he would pee in bed, but he never once did that. Little do you know that every month is equivalent to every year for the him. After a year of taking care of Jungkook, you now know his every habit and every meaning of his move. He is now a young boy ( although he hates to be called that ) and calls you noona. You treat him like a little brother and can’t help to feel a little more for him. Maybe it is because he is the only human that you have ever interacted with in years?
One thing for sure, no matter how old he has grown, he still sucks your breast every day. He loves your milk, so much. As months passed, you have two permanent bites on your breast. Both caused by Jungkook’s growing fangs. It hurts when he accidentally bites on it but he tries to be extra careful. You tried to suggest pumping out your milk into a cup so he can have it whenever he wants but he refused. He would only drink it fresh out of you.
Now that Jungkook is a fully grown man, both you and him started to feel more sexually aroused around each other. You felt wrong, as he practically grown from drinking your milk, but after losing contact with the human world, you were needy. Needy for body contact and warmth. Which is exactly what Jungkook is providing you with. On days where you and Jungkook just lay in bed, you would often tease him by not letting him drink your milk. Of course, this made Jungkook feel more than irritated. It isn't like he wanted your milk, he needed it. But you just don’t seem to understand.
This will often escalate to him pinning you down on the bed and roughly tearing your clothes away and harshly sucking on to your breast, causing you to gasp and whimper. Immediately followed by your strong arousal, he will growl and latch onto you more. You will then rub yourself against him , making yourself wetter and wetter. Knowing your style, Jungkook place both his strong arms on either side of your waist and bend down for a kiss. However, just before it gets too heated, you would always pull away from him, leaving both of you breathless.
Of-course, you enjoyed it so much and wanted his entire member inside you, but you can’t seem to get rid of the thought that you raised him from a child. It felt too wrong to have sex with someone you took care of since he was a baby.
“ Noonaaaaa, pleaseeeeeee I know you want me too “ Jungkook said, arms fully secured around your waist. His tail swing excitedly from side to side.
“ Kookie I can’t, I’m sorry “ you looked at him with sincere apology.
Disappointed, Jungkook’s arms loosen around you as he slipped off the bed and went to the bathroom. You hated to make him disappointed or upset. It breaks your heart seeing his tail swinging from side to side aimlessly. But you just can’t find the courage to let him fuck you. One day, you tell yourself, I will let him do whatever he wants with me. I will do it for kookie.
=============================================================
Hope you guys enjoyed! Feel free to comment or dm me if you think I can improve in any areas!
TAGLIST : @littlewolfieposts @ro2424 @bubbletaetaesstuff @btsxdoll
⇢ "What's that?..." Jimin asks curiously, staring out into the garden.
⇢ Everyone was having breakfast and, seeing as there was a sliding glass door leading to the garden to the left of the kitchen, you and your family of hybrids were able to stare on at the falling snow. It’s magical effect on the landscape had, once again, managed to enamour all that gazed out onto it. It made you giggle to see the hybrids’ wondrous wide eyes as they devour the scene before them and completely dismiss their hearty breakfast of bacon, eggs, french toast, and melon mint salad.
⇢ "It's called snow, Jimin," Jin spoke up as you nodded along, sipping on your freshly brewed tea.
⇢ "What does it do?" Hoseok muses, eyes wide and sparkling at the phenomenon happening right before his eyes. He looked so innocent and sweet, you couldn't help but grow a wider smile.
⇢ "It just falls from the sky and onto the ground, Hobi," you coo, "it's much more fun to have than rain because you can play around in it," at your statement, the golden retriever hybrid's tail instantly started to wag in excitement.
⇢ "Play around? How?" you're sure his eyes can widen further if he wanted them to but you don’t want him getting too overexcited before breakfast. Although you would have liked to further encourage his enthusiasm and merriment, you thought it best to calm the excitable pup down enough, first, to have his morning meal before allowing him to indulge in the scenery out in the cold.
⇢ "I'll show you later, Hobi, maybe after breakfast," he nodded happily, continuing to eat but in a merrier manner than usual, which was surprising as you didn’t believe he could be any happier than his usual disposition. This comes as a form of comfort for you, knowing that the sweet boy can only ever be happy and never sad, it made you believe that he took on an optimistic role during tough times.
⇢ You’re sure that he assumed the role of the optimist in his odd pack; no wonder the others always appear to look towards him (especially the younger ones) during times of distress or anxiety. All he had to do was flash his reassuring smile and they’ll be smiling back just as happily, ready to take on the world with new reassurance and a thirst for adventure rather than apprehension.
⇢ Goodness...how you adore the dynamic of their pack. Everyone is cared for and loved. It’s such an honour to be a part of their family. Granted you’re not officially a part of their pack yet but that’s alright. As long as they stay beside you, you’re sure they’ll come around.
⇢ However, not everyone seemed to be fond of the idea of playing out in the snow as you catch the glance of a worried Namjoon to your left.
⇢ "Are you sure it's safe for us to go outside?" the nervousness in his voice made the others droopy eared and grow the seed of consternation he had planted within them.
⇢ "So long as everyone wears the appropriate clothing, I'm sure you will all be fine," you reassure after a hum of contemplation, "and don't worry about that either, I made sure to buy the appropriate clothing once you guys settled in and the seasons started changing," instantly, the hybrids felt more confident of their safety and freely relish in their elation once more.
⇢ This seemed to have put Namjoon's mind at ease, but you're sure his fears wouldn't be fully dispelled until he felt safe outside in the snow by himself firsthand. Hopefully, this comes when he sees the boys enjoying themselves in the snow-covered scene. You're sure his worries all stem from bad experiences, which is perfectly normal. Considering that they were living out in the somewhat unforgiving woodland, with no proper shelter or attire, you're positive his encounter with snow has made him overprotective about his family.
⇢ You're going to make sure that he changes his mind very soon.
⇢ Jin has already seen snow before because of the kind elderly owner he had the pleasure of previously having. They had allowed him to explore the wonders of the winter season many times so he is very much looking forward to indulging himself in it once again. He's also very curious and thrilled to see what the reactions of the other members will have to snow.
⇢ All the memories he ever had surrounding snow were always pleasant, owing to the kindness of his previous owners until after they passed and he escaped the center to then met his pack. From then on, snow only prolonged the winter chill as it kept the land frozen in a time of great struggle for survival. This time, however, he's positive the boys will have just as good a time as he once did because of you.
⇢ He remembers building snowmen, making snow angels and having competitive snowball fights. They'll have a great time - he'll make sure of that.
⇢ "How does snow happen?" Namjoon enquires whilst you're zipping up everyone's coats as a way of affirming to yourself that they'll stay warm. Everyone's ears seemed to visibly perk up at the question, curious about the answer as well.
⇢ "Hmmm, the best way to put it is frozen rain," you nod with a smile, "the temperature is cold enough to freeze the raindrops so that they turn and maintain the form of small frozen ice crystals as they fall from the clouds, and because the temperature is still chilly on the ground, they collect on the landscape to create the beautiful scene you see outside right now,"
⇢ From the side of you, you hear a hiss and look to see Yoongi taking off his coat in a hurry, muttering to himself incoherently despite your efforts in leaning towards him so as to, somewhat, hear him better.
⇢ "What's wrong, Yoongi?" his pout only seems to deepen at your query.
⇢ "I'm going to get wet if I go outside and I don't want to," he's being a grump, like always, but you don't want to push anything. You want him to feel as comfortable as possible and if that means he wants to stay inside then so be it.
⇢ “Alright,” you muse good-naturedly, “you can stay inside if you want,”
⇢ “Th-then I’m staying with Hyung,” at the sudden proclamation, you turn your head in shock to find an overwrought Jimin. He’s standing slightly behind Yoongi with his soft tail tucked between his legs and his ears turned down to cap over the curve of his head. This was strange because Jimin, you remember, had looked so mesmerised by the snow during breakfast and his excitement in exploring the phenomenon was clear. However, looking between the feline pair, you can deduce that Jimin wanted to keep Yoongi company and appeared to not feel safe if an activity was not approved by him.
⇢ Multiple times during your few weeks spent together, you were able to see this distinct behaviour. Jimin, when trying something new, would always look towards his Hyung first before indulging in whatever new thing he stumbled upon or was introduced to. This habit appeared to be directed mainly towards Yoongi, however, and you didn’t understand why. For now, you can only assume things; your main assumption is that Yoongi is also a feline, is older and with more experience than Jimin, so he finds more comfort in reassurance from Yoongi than any other hyung.
⇢ You wouldn’t dare pry further, in spite of your curiosity, however, as you would rather they come to you first, in respect of their privacy. You didn’t want either of them feeling uncomfortable, in spite of the tight sadness you felt in your chest when considering the fun they were willingly keeping themselves from. On the other hand, noticing the familiar glint of shock and, somewhat, guilt in Yoongi’s sharp eyes when staring at his dongsaeng, you have no worries about them keeping themselves away for too long.
⇢ In the meantime, you’ll let them have their moment together, “That’s perfectly alright, you two. I only ask that you guys stay in the living room and keep the curtains drawn so that I can see you and, should you need me, be able to do something quickly. You can easily catch my attention by knocking on the glass or opening the door and shouting, alright?” The pair nod at you as everyone else double-checks their attire before patiently waiting for you to lead them out into the snow. “Feel free to turn on the TV and grab a snack from the fridge or pantry if you’re feeling peckish,”
⇢ With that, you lead everyone else out into the snow. As soon as everyone was outside, you quickly close the sliding glass door behind you to keep the chilling temperatures out of the house’s toasty interior. For a moment, Namjoon overtakes you and tests out walking on it for a while as everyone stares and waits for him to give a nod of confirmation. No unpleasant moisture was seeping into his clothes freezing up his skin so he quickly gave the signal for everyone to join him.
⇢ It didn’t take you long to show the boys the various activities they can enjoy within the winter wonderland they were surrounded by. From his past experiences, Jin was able to help you explain and introduce various activities in the snow to the rest of the hybrids. They were excited and just seeing the delight in their sweet faces, had you grinning wider than ever before.
⇢ In no time at all, Hoseok was set on building himself a snowman with Namjoon assisting him. His tail hasn’t stopped wagging since breakfast. The only thing that seemed to have, at least, let it slow down was after Hoseok had accidentally hit his pack leader in the face with it, eliciting a deep, resonating growl that even had your bones shaking. Thankfully, Namjoon brushed off the accident quickly before apologising for his instinctive and uncontrolled response.
⇢ “You look like you’re ready to hold a galaxy in your eyes from how wide and sparkly they are right now,” you giggle from beside Namjoon after he had given himself a couple of minutes to stand back and overlook his pack. This is the most fun he and his pack have ever had in the snow. It was always too chilly so they usually just snuggled up together inside the cave for weeks on end, waiting until it was a safe enough temperature for all of them to venture outside without getting hypothermia.
⇢ They could have never had the opportunity to make happy memories such as this if it weren’t for you. For that, Namjoon will forever stay loyal and strive to do his best in providing for you wherever he can despite being very limited seeing as he’s ‘just a hybrid’ in the eyes of general society.
⇢ He’s going to prove all of them wrong, just they wait and see. He isn’t just a hybrid; he’s going to provide for the one person that has become the center of his orbit in just a few short weeks of living together. You’re the only human that has ever been patient and genuinely kind to him and his pack so he was absolutely set on giving back to you by proving himself worthy enough of your endless generosity and compassion for complete strangers.
⇢ An hour into the madness and the fun outside is in full swing. Jungkook and Taehyung had made forts on either side of the garden and, at one point, were at war with each other, firing snowballs back and forth and cheering victoriously should one of them land a direct hit on the other. During their playful snowball fight, they had tried their best to convince the final member of their trio to join in on the fun and to pick a team.
⇢ “Come on Jiminnie! It’s so much fun!” Taehyung shouted, head thrown back as he thrust his curled fists to the sky, only to be hit at the side with an insanely fast snowball.
⇢ “Yeah! Let’s beat Taehyung together!” Jungkook grinned with a playful chuckle as a cry of protest escaped his tiger-hybrid Hyung. And thus, the argument over who Jimin gets to join on their team ensues between the two youngest.
⇢ “That’s enough you two,” you chuckle, “It’s up to Jimin to decide,” you tilt your head to the timid kitten as his tail curls around his torso for comfort.
⇢ ”I-I want to stay here with Hyung still...” the munchkin hybrid muses shyly, pouting at the groans of displeasure his declination causes. At this, you go off to settle down the two youngest and reason that they shouldn’t make Jimin feel bad for not wanting to join them. As you do this, you miss how Jin goes over to reassure the kitten.
⇢ ”You know Jimin, it’s not as bad as you think,” the eldest male assures, “It looks fun to be out there, doesn’t it?” He questions, where a still pause follows as Jimin stares out at Jungkook and Taehyung making snow angels together at your suggestion. The pure sight filled with unadulterated laughter earns Jin a timid nod, which makes him grin wider, “then don’t you think that you’ll have fun being out there with everyone too?” Despite the logic behind his way of trying to convince his dongsaeng, Jin only gets a deeper frown and a shake of the head in return.
⇢ “I want to stay with Hyung,” at this, Jin shares a brief look with Yoongi before nodding and accepting his decision, suppressing the urge to sigh as he didn’t want the kitten to feel even worse on such a good day.
⇢ Jin eventually returns to stand by yourself as you talk Namjoon through how snow is made on a molecular level with your phone cradled in your gloved hands. You enjoy satisfying his curious mind; the look of fascination on his face is more precious than anything that could ever be bought by simple money.
⇢ From beside you, Jin voices his thanks as you blush and reason that it’s what any human would do. Everyone should enjoy being in a winter wonderland of snow, you’re only sorry that they weren’t able to fully enjoy themselves before this. As you look away in embarrassment, you miss the fond look Jin stares down at you with, admiration and love in his eyes. Briefly, he makes eye contact with Namjoon and from that alone, they swear to each other that they will do whatever it takes to keep you forever content beside them.
⇢ Back in the house, Yoongi has Jimin cuddled up beside him as they both lay on the sofa and watch whatever is on the TV. And, in spite of the fuzzy, warm feeling it brought him to be cuddled so close to, Yoongi simply couldn’t dismiss the way the kitten beside him kept turning his head to stare out at the winter fun every few seconds that drawled by. He knows Jimin wants to be outside but he also knows that the munchkin isn’t the type to leave a member of their pack alone when they should always be together. In addition to that, Yoongi and Jimin have always had a special bond, with Yoongi always protecting the younger cat as the youngun gives him the comfort and cuddles he deserves. Their symbiotic type of relationship within the pack was mostly beneficial but sometimes (much like today) was harmful to one party.
⇢ “You know Jimin...we can go outside, if you want,” Yoongi finally suggests, turning to look down at the male who's curled up at his side, thoroughly enjoying the look of surprise and excitement in his brown orbs, which grew at the implication that they would go out together.
⇢ “Really? The two of us? Together?” At each question, Yoongi nods firmly, a small smile growing on his lips until he was pulled up by the hand and dragged out the two doors.
⇢ In his excitement, Jimin had forgotten to get the two dressed up properly for the winter weather, hence why, not even a minute later, you had dragged them back inside to get them properly dressed from head to toe. Babbling on about the potential sickness they can contract from being outside without proper snow attire, you disregard their amused expressions. It isn’t until you’ve triple-checked their zipped up jackets that you see the grins on their faces. Before you could say anything more, they give you a peck on the cheek and a quick nuzzle of noses before heading out to have fun together.
⇢ It isn’t a surprise to anyone that you walk out with a beet-red face. Naturally, this causes the hybrids to tease you, which drives you into the house and, to take your mind off things, make hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream.
⇢ As you concoct your remedy for the chilling cold, the maknae line finally gets to fulfill their wish of having a snowball fight together with the addition of Hoseok as Jin referees the match. Of course, as the group is practically composed of crackheads, they end up cheating to win and get what they want, turning the snowball fight into a competition of the best ways to cheat in a snowball fight and win unfairly. This eventually drives Jin away to talk Namjoon and Yoongi into building a snowman.
⇢ As soon as they get the body and head done, Jin sends Yoongi to look for stones to make a face with as Namjoon picks a carrot for a nose from the greenhouse and sticks for hands from trees. To complete the look, Jin abandons his hat to set at the head of the snowman. Of course, the rest of the boys, find the snowman fascinating and abandon their snowball fight to set about building their own snowman in competition with their Hyungs.
⇢ When you finally call everyone in for hot chocolate, they are exhausted and ready to relax. You chuckle at their drooping eyelids and calmly swishing tails. From their exhaustion, you’re having to help them take off their extra clothing as they find that their limbs have become as heavy and weighted down as marble stone. Not a single complaint left your lips however, as you always thoroughly enjoy taking care of them as they deserve to be.
⇢ Eventually, they are in their regular clothes and settling peacefully on the living room couches as each person nurses their own mug of hot chocolate. Everyone goes through just one mug of the sweet, warm beverage as Taehyung asks for one more mug and, after that, another one and then another one until you finally put your foot down. “You’re going to make yourself sick with the amount of hot chocolate you’re guzzling down Tae,” although pouty, he accepts that he’ll have no hot chocolate until tomorrow but makes you engage in a compromise of cuddling on a loveseat together.
⇢ The others, naturally, find his hogging of you for cuddles unfair and turn the night into one full of cuddles, playful whines, and many contented smiles - a perfect way to end a day out in the snow.
I am also currently going through Our Own World and my other works editing everything! So there may be some changes, so please bare with me while everything is a bit messy. If you would like to be removed or added to my taglists please let me know <3
Being holed up in Jimin’s room had surprisingly been a nice refresher. The only person coming and going from the room had been Jimin, taking clothes to his roommates, bringing fresh clothing to you, and meals whenever they were ready. He spent nearly every second glued by your side, chatting away like he had known you his entire life. He had millions of questions, wanting to know every intimate detail about the life you lived before finding yourself stuck here, although he worded it much nicer.
In turn, you asked Jimin a million and one questions. You asked about his life, what it was like living with your brother, did he have hobbies, and of course, questions regarding life as a hybrid. You hadn’t ever spent much time around normal animals despite the never-ending line of pets your parents bought home, and so obviously hybrids were a whole new ballgame. Jimin had been thrilled by your interest, answering every question in length and always making sure you understood everything. The hybrid had shown you so much patience and care, more than you had expected or ever even experienced before. It had been a shock and left you feeling embarrassed and ashamed of the way you had behaved around them all.
Growing up, despite your parents' interest in hybrids, they never got any. Nobody you knew had hybrids— well obviously other than your brother but his ownership over them had been a surprise! You had very little knowledge of them, only what you had learned through the media, which even you should have known wasn’t the most reliable source at times. All your information, the knowledge you thought you had? Useless. You may as well have watched Fox News all your life. Thankfully, Jimin didn’t seem to mind your lack of knowledge, in fact, he seemed thrilled to share everything he could with you. The two of you had started to form a surprising bond.
For the first time in almost a week, you woke up alone. It had left you feeling strangely disappointed. The first night you had spent in Jimin’s shared bedroom, he had insisted you sleep in his bed, and you both had bickered for a ridiculous amount of time until you caved in. By the second day, he had rejoined you in his bed, being careful to keep his distance. It was sweet. By day four you were waking up to Jimin curled up around your body, his nose buried into your neck, his hot breath tickling your skin. Strangely enough, you weren’t bothered by the skinship. Your skin didn’t crawl at his touch, even the gentle brushes of his tail on your calf. It was almost comforting. Jimin had picked up on the change in attitude toward touch, slowly amping up his skinship.
But it was strange to wake up to the disturbed routine you had so briefly experienced. Usually, you woke up before Jimin, the fox hybrid stayed up later than you and slept in longer. Today was different. Deciding to shrug it off, you rolled across the bed blindly reaching for your phone on the bedside table. The blinding white light from your screen caused the device to slip from your hands for a moment before you recovered from temporary blindness. Speedily scrolling through the notifications on your lock screen, your thumb froze upon noticing a familiar name.
HY- U free today? Was thinking about going on a walk… u interested?
Staring at the words, rereading, and then reading one more time, you threw the blanket off your body, throwing yourself upward. You still texted the man from the grocery store, Hanyoon, nearly every day, unfortunately, you hadn't run into him again since your first meeting. Covid’s lockdown rules had thankfully finally started to ease up. Whilst masks and international travel still hadn’t gone back to normal, you were allowed to roam the streets again... Exercising for a few hours outside of the house in the neighborhood you lived in was encouraged. Getting out of the house was just what you needed, even if it was with a man you had only met once. Keeping yourself cooped up like this was crazy, of course, it was. Jay wasn’t able to return anytime soon, and just because Hoseok and Jeongguk had scared the shit out of you, it didn’t mean you should close yourself off to the others who hadn’t done anything wrong. A day out was exactly what you needed to clear your head.
Y/N- sounds great! Whenever you're ready :))
Dropping your phone back onto the mattress, you stumbled out of the bed, ankle snagged in one of many blankets that Jimin kept all over the bed. You made a quick mental note to fix his bedding when you got back. Digging through the pile of your dirty clothes that had been shoved behind the door, you found a decent enough outfit. Sure, you could go to your bedroom but the fewer stops the better. If you could avoid alerting the whole house of your departure that would be ideal.
You were thankful for the one sink in the ensuite that still worked, getting to quick work brushing your teeth. Unfortunately, your hair was disgustingly greasy, but with no time to shower you would just have to steal some of Jimin’s dry shampoo and pray it could fix the cesspool on top of your head. Not bothering with makeup, knowing your unfit ass would sweat it all off, you were quick to ditch your glasses in favor of contacts. Deeming yourself presentable for the public, you quickly grabbed your phone from Jimin’s mattress. Hayoon’s contact alerted you to his arrival at the park nearby.
To your complete surprise, you managed to make it out of the house without a single soul making an appearance. If you didn’t know any better, you would have assumed the house was empty. Knowing better than to test your luck, you had been quick to slip into your sneakers by the door, taking off down the driveway. Despite enjoying Jimin’s companionship the past week, you craved normal human interaction. Jimin was a sweetheart, but there was something that lingered under that sweetness that often left you feeling uneasy. It could just be you overthinking, subconsciously comparing him to his two packmates that had spooked you, but you weren’t going to completely ignore your gut. You had learned to be better than that.
“Y/n!”
A grin pulled at your lips as you locked eyes with Hayoon, your legs picking up pace to meet him faster. Hayoon looked good, dressed in loose black shorts and a baggy white tee. His hair which had been completely buzzed off the first, and last, time you saw him had started to regrow. Thick dark hair had started to flower across his head, making you wonder what kind of style his hair had been before it had been shaved off.
“Hayoon, I hope I didn’t keep you waiting?” You asked sheepishly, keeping a little space between your bodies.
He waved you off, smiling down at you. You forgot how tall he was, definitely an inch or so taller than Namjoon. You weren’t short, in fact, you were considered tall for a woman in your country, but Hajoon made you feel tiny, something you couldn't say happens often.
“Nah, I haven’t been here long.” He assured you, gently bumping into your shoulder as he started to walk along the dusty path. The crunch under his shoes finally jolted your legs into gear after what seemed to be a moment of short-circuiting when the skin of his arm brushed against yours.
The sun felt amazing on your skin, something you never thought you could say. Even the gentle breeze didn’t bother you. It was still early, the only other people in the park being an elderly couple walking with their arms linked up ahead. Despite how warm it already was, the couple were dressed in thick coats as if braving the city's harsh winter. Watching the way they interacted so freely with one another warmed your heart, they seemed so in love. Growing old didn’t seem as scary if you did it with someone you loved.
Hayoon must’ve been watching the same scene as you, a soft smile on his lips as he admired the affectionate couple ahead. A comfortable silence had settled over the two of you rather quickly, and you were grateful. Something you liked about Hayoon was how easy it was with him. There were no forced conversations, no bitterness over slow responses. There were many similarities between the two of you, making it almost effortless to keep any conversation going. Any differences were discussed, debated, and settled. Those differences weren’t drastic, nothing that could end the bond that slowly was forming.
A sound of disgust broke your thoughts, Hayoon’s eyes were still looking toward the elderly couple, only now a third person had appeared. A short woman who looked to be in her mid-thirties had been walking in front of them and now separated off to the left with her arm linked with the elderly woman, the two admiring a shrub of flowers. The short woman had pretty honey-colored hair with ears of the same color poking out– a hybrid.
Hayoon looked down at you, an apologetic look on his face. His tanned cheeks had a cute pink flush to them. “Sorry– I didn’t mean to.” He stumbled over his words, his cheeks going brighter in embarrassment.
“Not a fan?” You laughed, glancing back toward the elderly woman and her hybrid.
Hajoon snorted, shaking his head. He kept quiet as you approached the trio, waiting until a good distance had been made before he answered your question.
“It’s just.. Weird?” He sighed, his thick brows pulling together. “It’s not natural.”
Humming, you found yourself agreeing. Hybrids were a strange concept, you found it incredibly difficult to understand why anyone would go out of their way to warp genetics in such a way. What was the real reason for creating such a mess of DNA? Only to ban them twenty years later? What was the reason for banning them? They were a hot commodity, every facility selling out within weeks, the waitlists being years long. The money the government had made from their creation had been staggering, and yet twenty years later facilities were shut down and forced to stop producing. The last few generations were sterilized, and the older generations were also encouraged to be as well. The government was trying to completely erase their creations without an explanation. As anyone could imagine, it didn’t go down well with the public. Hybrid trading has become a huge issue over the last few years, with huge rings being found and shut down every few days.
What about Jay’s hybrids? When exactly did he get them, and where from? They were all born before the ban, that much you knew. So maybe he got them legally? Did he follow the government's advice, suggesting (demanding) to have all hybrids sterilized? Jay seemed to want to hide the fact that he owned hybrids, was it because of how many he had? Maybe there was a limit on how many hybrids a person could own that you weren't aware of. Seeing the elderly couple out with their cat hybrid, not a concern in the air, had you confused as to why the seven back home were kept under lock and key. Was it because of their breeds? They were all exotic animals, the laws might apply differently to different breeds. After the ban on hybrids, many laws shifted, and still to this day they are constantly changing, it is difficult to keep up to date.
The topic of hybrids and Hayoon’s opinions on them piqued your interest. You were still clueless on the topic, no matter how much research you did into it you still felt uneducated on it all. Hayoon had been an excellent source of information, leaving you almost speechless on how much he seemed to know about them. If there was one thing you admired about the man, it was how educated he was on all topics. He always made sure to have himself as well informed as possible before making an opinion, he was a pool of knowledge. He never looked down on you for things you didn't know or understand and explained things as many times as you needed. It reminded you of Namjoon.
A knot of anxiety pulled at your stomach. Had they noticed you were gone? Were they upset... Maybe you should have told someone, or at least left a note. You know Namjoon has a shitty old phone that's shared amongst the group, but you never bothered to get the number for it. You hadn’t seen a need for it, the only time you had spent away from any of them was to go get groceries. A part of you also just didn’t want them to have your number, the thought of them being able to contact you in the only time you had alone was distressing. Quickly shrugging off your concerns, you turn your attention back to Hayoon who had thankfully not noticed you spacing out.
They’re fine, they’re grown men, and they can live without you for a few hours.
“She’s gone!”
Namjoon slammed his laptop shut, glaring up at Jimin for bursting into the bedroom he was temporarily residing in until Y/N was ready to go back to her own.
“Have you forgotten how to knock?” He snapped, earning a frustrated hiss from the young fox.
“Are you deaf!” He shot back, tugging at his hair. “Y/N is gone, I can’t find her anywhere!”
Jimin’s panic was already distressing enough, the emotion suffocating the room the longer he stood in the doorway, but the anxiety that flooded his nerves was enough for him to feel bile rising in his throat. Namjoon had heard one less heartbeat when he woke up late this morning, but he had pinned it down to either one of the boys had gone walking at the back of the property, somewhere too far for his hearing to pick up, or Jeongguk was sleeping so deeply that his heart had slowed to almost nothing again– a common occurrence when the snake hybrid had a late night. The possibility of it being your heartbeat missing hadn’t even crossed Namjoon’s mind. You had been locked away in his bedroom for some time now, nobody but Jimin had seen you, and nobody would have suspected you leaving. The smell of your fear still lingered upstairs, Jimin would herd everyone downstairs before you would agree to go use the upstairs bathroom to shower. Going as far as making Jimin stand guard on the door until you were done. When did you lose that anxiety?
Ripping the blanket, Namjoon’s laptop hit the floor as he jumped off the mattress. “Where have you looked?”
“I’ve been through the yard, the kitchen, our bedroom, and all of downstairs. I haven’t checked Jeongguks room, I was on my way–”
Namjoon was speeding down the hallway before the fox could finish his sentence. This was a new kind of fear he had never experienced before, his throat closing up and his eyes burning. His lungs were on fire, struggling to keep up with how quickly he was breathing. At the end of the hall was Taehyung and Jeongguk’s room, the door shut and only the sound of one heartbeat fluttering peacefully. Had you found your way into their room? Maybe you had gotten lost and ended up in the wrong bedroom? These things happen all the time! He’ll open the door and you’ll be curled up in someone's bed, and the crisis will be averted.
With the force that Namjoon pushed open the door, he almost fell flat on his face. Stumbling into the room, his eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness, squinting as he took in two groggy men peeking out from their blankets.
“Hyung, what the fuck?” Jeongguk groaned, his heart going from nearly stopped to racing.
“Well, is she there?” Jimin huffed, shoving past his leader to look for himself. To his great disappointment, the room held no signs of you ever being there. Cursing, Jimin shoved past Namjoon, his usual gratefulness replaced with clumsy heaviness.
“What’s his problem?” Taehyung whined, pulling his blanket over his head to shield himself from the brightness of the hall.
Namjoon, for the first time in his life, couldn’t find words. You’re not here. There are seven heartbeats, not eight. The knot in his stomach tightened, the bile in his stomach rising higher and higher. When did you leave, how long has it been? Your car is still here, you couldn’t have gotten far. How didn’t anyone hear you leave? A house full of hybrids and not a single one heard you get up and out the front door?
Impossible.
“Did you hear anyone leave the house this morning?” He asked as calmly as possible, the shake in his voice far more noticeable than he would have liked. Both grunted out no’s, begging the elder male to close the door.
It was Jeongguk, finally ripping the blanket off his head ready to start a war over the damned door still being open, that noticed Namjoon’s pale sweaty skin. He looked like he was about to projectile vomit. Frowning, the snake hybrid slinked out of bed and heaved his tired body toward his sickly leader. Pressing the back of his cold hand against Namjoon’s forehead, he sighed in relief. He wasn’t running abnormally hot, so it wasn’t a fever or some kind of sickness. Even with his less advanced hearing, he could still hear the erratic beating of his hyung’s heart.
“Joonie, you okay?” He murmured, his hand cupping the back of the man's neck as he tried to get closer to assess him better. “You don’t look so good…”
The concern in Jeongguk’s usually smug tone had Taehyung flying into a sitting position, his hair standing in every possible direction. His puffy eyes zeroed in on his pack leader, his brows pulling together in concern.
“Is he sick?”
Jeongguk shook his head, keeping his eyes on the wolf hybrid. Gently squeezing at the muscle in his neck, the snake hybrid was starting to get antsy. “Hey, come on. Talk to us, we can’t help if you don’t tell us what's wrong.” He cooed, the money hybrid making a sound of agreement from behind.
Namjoon’s tongue pressed against his cheek, his eyes going glassy. He couldn’t get his tongue to work, he couldn’t get himself to say the words his packmates needed to hear. How could he admit to everyone that he had lost you? He could hear Jimin tearing through Jay’s room downstairs, Hoseok and Seokjin hot on his heels trying to calm the younger man down. They didn’t know what was happening either, nobody else had figured it out.
“We can’t find Y/n.”
It takes time/1
Pairing: Jinxreader (Btsxreader)
Warnings: none in this chapter I think
Summary: after finally getting the house y/n always wanted, she find a hybrid hiding in an old shed. Unlike most people who find strays, y/n doesn’t turn him into h.c mainly because there was a lot of shady things that happened with the hybrid control in the area.
Notes: this is the first one I have ever posted for others to read. So I hope you like it
————-——————————————————————
He laid in the shed trying to escape the cold and keep his fresh cut on his leg from getting too dirty. He hadn’t planned on things going this way. He just wanted to go into town to get some goods for the pack, but someone managed to scared him causing his peacock feathers to pop out. They ended up calling hybrid control and when They arrived, they used way more force then necessary. Thanks to a window in the back of a warehouse, he managed to escape them, but not without Injuring his leg. Lucky for him, he managed to Find an abandoned house with a shed in the back. It wasn’t much but it was enough to hide in until he can head back to the pack. Wish it wasn’t cold.
The Realtor got out of his car as I drove up in the driveway to the house and I got out. “Good morning miss Y/L/N” he said as we shook hands “good morning Mr. Allen” I smiled “ready to see the house?” - The house hasn’t been in for a very long time, mostly because it was out in the mountain. Mr. Allen tried to talk me out of it and get some small house in (city), saying that a girl shouldn’t be living on her own all the way out here, But Nature is where I felt more at home. The house itself was only three-bedroom, two bath, kitchen and decent size living room with a large window wall with the perfect view of the forest that surrounded. While looking around the house. I noticed that there was a rickety shed in the back yard, that was probably going to fall apart as soon as a bad storm hits. Through one of the holes in the shed it looked like something moved inside. I cocked my head to the side and started heading towards the back door. I tugged my jacket closer to me as I walked across the yard. As I slowly opened the door, I locked eyes with a man who had an injured leg huddle so close to the wall trying so hard to hide. I could see in the dim lighting the color of peacock feathers form on his skin…I shut the door. I had to get Allen away, because he would call Hybrid control to come get this stray. If it’s the H.C from this area, this guy would be in trouble.
After finishing up with MR. Allen and getting some final papers signed, the house was all mine! As soon as he left though. I darted straight to the shed. ‘I wonder if he is still there?’ But from the looks of his leg. I’m not sure how far he could get on it. As I opened the door to the shed i could see him staring at me with wide eyes! I raised my hands so he could see them “I’m not going to hurt you” I smiled trying to remain calm. When most people come across strays, they automatically assume they are one of the feral ones that have been seen around the woods. Most attacked people and their pets, so people feared them. He wasn’t giving me the vibes he was a feral hybrid. “I noticed the large cut on your leg” looking down at it then back up. He watched carefully. “It looked like it going to need to be treated.” I shifted from one foot to another. “Um…we can do these two ways…or we” I shook my heads “that sounded mean…. But we can do this whatever way you feel comfortable... if you want, you can come with me back to my apartment so we can take care of that there...” his eyes grew wide in fear “OR you can wait here while I run and get some supplies to take care of that” “I’ll wait” I nodded “okay, it won’t be until later because of the long drive. Let me get the blanket from my car, since the temperature is supposed to drop later this afternoon” he slowly nodded. I went to my car and collected the blanket. It was kind of a thick fuzzy blanket should keep him warm. I headed back to the shed. As I approached him, I held out the blanket “I know it’s smells like me but at least you will be warm” I smile lightly at him. He didn’t look at the blanket as he leaned in to take it. He had all his focus on me, making sure I don’t make a move towards him. As he brought the blanket towards him, he seemed to settle more. “Okay, I’ll be back later.” As I shut the door and headed to leave, I went ahead and got all the electric and water turned on so he can stay in there where it will be warm instead of the shed that could fall with a strong gust of wind.
As I heard her pull out of the driveway, I relaxed a little more. But why wasn’t I afraid of her? Why was her scent so calming, like his pack mates? He felt like he could trust her even though he doesn’t even know her. He wrapped the blanket around him tightly. It was so warm and her scent was all over it. He inhaled deeply. Why is this so calming? The others would have run or attacked her when she came close. That’s kind of why when they needed certain supplies from the town close by, he is the one that goes. He enjoyed going to town. He normally can walk in on and out with no problem. Out of all his brothers he looked and acted more human and he had good control, most of the time, over his animal DNA. He sighed.
Going to the apartment took so much longer because of all the boxes I had to go through, all because I forgot which one it was in. So, it was well after the sunset before I could make it back to the house. I opened the door to the house turning on the living room lights and made sure the heater was turned on. Once I heard it click on, I let out a breath ‘good it still works!’ I had also grabbed blankets for use to sit on and a change of clothing for him. Before I left town, I had gotten some food from the burger joint. Pretty sure it’s been a while since he had gotten a full meal. I zipped up my jacket and made my way back to the shed. He was still there shivering in the cold. His head popped up out from the blanket “I’m sorry it took so long. I got the heater in the house going if you would like to go inside” He slowly nodded his head and tried to stand. I moved forward to help him. “May I?” I asked. He thought for a second before nodding and allowing me to step closer to him. He leaned in. He was a lot taller than what I assumed. Making it into the house, he looked nervous. “Can we stay close to the door?” I looked up at him “if it makes you feel comfortable being close to it yes” I nodded and set him in the corner by the back door “let me go grab the blankets and Med kit” he nodded as he leaned against the wall. Moving quickly to get all the stuff and placing the blankets on the ground for him to sit on. I looked up at him “I... uh brought extra clothing for you…seeing how we going to have to cut the legs pant off.” He stared at me searching to see if i had Bad intentions. after what felt like hours he spoke “okay, thank you” I started cutting the pants part off and began cleaning the wound. Luckily it was just a Flesh wound, a deep one but not life threatening, and after cleaning and bandaging it up it seemed to look okay. “I know you wouldn’t want to but that really needs to be looked at by a professional. “I’ll be fine” he said, his brown eyes drooping. “Okay before you fall asleep let’s get you into something most comfortable” I reached into the bag I brought with the clothing and handed him clean shirt, shorts and sweatpants. And held them out to him. He looked at me kind of confused “why shorts and sweatpants?” I blushed he was way to handsome now that I really got a look at him “well, when we need to change the bandages…. uh…the shorts” god how to I explain this “well it’s so we don’t have to cut any more clothing and you won’t ever have to be…pants less…” He cocked his head to the side “So, you don’t want to see me naked” I choked on air “no, no I wouldn’t.” His eyes seem to light up for a second before he cleared his throat. “Oh, thank you, for being considerate.” He took the clothing. I stood up “I’m going to go check out my new room and get an idea of what I want to do with it before I get my stuff tmrw.” I walked off giving him some privacy.
It took me a whole ten minutes in my new room trying to not panic about how awkward it was to explain the whole pants things that I realized I never asked him his name. Face palm. This should have been enough time, right? Or was it hard for him to work with that leg? I walked out of my room and down the hall way back towards him but stopped at the edge of the living room “hey um, is it okay for me to come out?” I swear I heard a snicker “Yes, I am dressed.” I walked to him “so, what’s your name? I realized I never asked.” He smiled. Shit. “My name is seokjin, but you can call me jin.” “Well hello jin, my name is Y/N” he leaned back and closed his eyes. I wonder when he last got a good night sleep? “I also got some food” his eyes popped open “it’s from a Burger place in the town close by.” I pulled the food out of the bag and handed him a burger. He hesitated for a second before taking the burger out of my hands and wasted no time in scarfing it down. I watched with a smile on my face, because once he was done, he looked so happy “I have another if you would like” he looked at me with big eyes “are you sure?” I smiled and passed him the other burger. He said thank you as he took it and eat it as quickly as he did the first. Now he just looked so tired. “Okay I’m going to head back to my apartment for the night. I’ll be here before the moving van gets here.” I smiled and was going to get up but he grabbed my hand. I looked down at him, he looked like he was arguing with himself “okay, get home safe and I’ll see you tomorrow” he let go and smiled.
After the movers loaded the truck, I speed as fast as I could to get to the house before they could arrive. I had found jin still sleeping in the corner. I managed to hide Jin in a closet while the movers moved stuff in…no, the closet what not my idea, I wanted to put him in my bathroom where no one should have gone but he wanted to be in the closet close to the back door. I didn’t have time to argue so I just agreed. It only took a couple of hours for the movers to move all the stuff in. As soon as they left, Jin walked out of the closet. He didn’t seem happy. ‘It must have been so uncomfortable in there.’ I went over and helped him to the couch. “Now you have something more comfortable to lay on.” I smiled. He smiled but it didn’t seem to reach his eyes. “Make sure the door is locked okay.” He said in a flat voice. Eyes on the front door from the living room. “O-okay.” I went to Lock the door. “Is everything okay?” I asked. As the door lock latched Jin seemed to relax a little. “The movers…. they made some comments about you…” his eyes narrowed. I Gulped “oh well, I’ll make sure everything is locked then.” I walked off to check all the windows and the back door. After doing so jin was a lot more relaxed. As I walked back to him “so what did they say?” Jin jaw tighten “just comments on what your…body would look like naked. how maybe coming back later off of work.” He seems to growl the last part…didn’t know peacocks could make that nose. I fiddled with my hand “oh, well…umm want to have a movie night in here in the living room then? So…Um I won’t be alone.” I’m not saying those men would force stuff…but the way the anger that was in Jīn's eyes, I’m pretty sure he leaving some stuff out. Jin seemed to relax “yea, a movie night would be fun.” He smiled and some of the anger left his eyes. I hoped up “Good! I’ll pop a pizza in the over, find my movie box and get some popcorn ready!” I smiled and went to get started. Jin smiled at how excited you were. He also happy you offered to stay in here with him. Because he pretty damn sure from the comments on how much you would scream in bed with them. He wouldn’t be able to sleep and with this leg he wouldn’t be able to do too much, or get there on time if they tried. But if they did come knocking, he would be the one to answer that damn door. Even though he doesn’t know you well he wants to protect you. Just like he would with his brothers. And he is damn sure not going to let those two movers touch you. At. all. Thinking about his brothers... he wonders how they are doing? By now he is sure they would be out searching for him. Jin hopes he can heal before they find him here. Well before certain ones find him here. As long as it wasn’t namjoon, yoongi or Jungkook, things could go better. If it was them…he shakes his head as Y/N sat back down with movies “so what kind of movies you like?”
CHAPTER 4
Pairing: Hyrbid!BTSxReader
Words: 8.5k
Warnings: Smoking and Cursing
A/n: This took me forever to edit I hope y'all like it!
For the next four days Y/n had a very clingy wolf hybrid for a shadow. Namjoon refused to leave her side after that night, nudging her hips with his when they would pass each other in the house. It made Y/n smile knowing Namjoon was feeling a lot better, hell, he practically glowed at this point.
The wolf hybrid walks up behind her pressing his chest against her back while she stood in the kitchen chopping some onions to put in the crockpot for dinner later tonight. "Y/n?" Namjoon nudges her shoulder with his chin while Seokjin did his best to move around the wolf trying to get lunch prepared.
Y/n hummed in response to him saying her name. "What is it Joon?" She asks absently scraping the onion into a nearby bowl. Namjoon's chest rumbles against her as he thinks about how to phrase his question for her. "Nothing, actually- nevermind forget I said anything." The wolf hybrid releases her when he sees Seokjin glaring at him from the corner of his eye.
Seokjin hasn't been the only one a little jealous of the way the wolf clung to Y/n like a baby koala to it's mother. Hoseok and Jimin were a little irritated with how much time they were spending together, after all they knew exactly what was wrong with him from the start.
Meanwhile Taehyung and Yoongi were practically avoiding them all together like the plague. Barely ever coming down for breakfast or dinner the last few days, only coming out of their rooms if they needed something on their own terms.
Jungkook could care less that all of this was happening as he spent most of his time outside of the house that smelled heavily of the displeasing scents of envy and jealousy between the six of them that hovered around the house.
The next day went smoothly, Y/n was at the stables with Jimin and Jungkook trying to convince Dove to come out of her stall. "Come on Dovey, Jimin's here, you love Jimin!" Y/n attempts to convince the mare to come out by cooing at her and gently pulling on her harness. Jimin even tried scratching under her chin the way she liked so much but she just huffed at the trio in annoyance. "I guess we'll just have to try another time then."
Later in the day Y/n walked through the kitchen and to the back porch to find Taehyung sitting in the hammock taking pictures of the evening sky with the old camera he had found. She didn't want to disturb him so she quietly walked down the stairs to the small flower beds around the porch Hoseok and Yoongi helped her put in earlier in the week.
Taehyung notices her take the final step off the porch and smiles to himself. After he had experienced her, for lack of a better word wild side a few days back he began to develop feelings for Y/n, he knew he probably shouldn't let himself get caught up in something as silly as hybrid and human relationships not to mention the promise he made to the others to share her. Taehyung shakes his head then takes a deep breath and sighs before quietly, his little white ears flicking around nervously, making his way down the porch steps to Y/n who was tending to the blooming flower bushes just in front of the house.
Taehyung musters up all the courage he had before he finally opened up his mouth to speak. "H-Hey Y/n I have a question for you. Uh, well a few actually." He stammers mentally cursing himself for the nerves but as Y/n looked up at him with her gorgeous eyes that shine brightly in the sun he couldn't help but smile down at her. His cheeks turn a light pink as she looks up at him with her adorable smile.
"Sure Tae what's up?" She says with a smile, Taehyung wrings his hands together before speaking again. "Listen about the other night--" Y/n coughs clearing her throat, effectively making the white tiger hybrid shut his mouth a little startled by her. "Oh, that uhm-- blame it on the alcohol. I shouldn't have done that to you in the first place and I'm really sorry for making you uncomfortable..." Y/n cheeks are red as crimson by this point and she can't look up at her hybrid again without getting embarrassed by her own drunken actions.
Taehyung pauses with his mouth open as he was getting ready to ask her his questions but instead he whips his head around and sniffs the air for a moment, his eyes turning a pale shade of blue almost silver when he does. "Tae? Earth to Taehyung?" Y/n waves her hand in front of his face only for Taehyung to instinctively nip at her hand then he blinks and comes back the moment he nips at her. "S-Sorry about that, I just-- there's a new scent and I don't like it." Taehyung states plainly like it was the most normal thing in the world. Y/n only now noticed the little hairs on the back of his neck were standing on end and a low chuff in warning slipping from his lips as if he was threatened.
The sound of gravel crunching under heavy boots from the driveway was enough to catch Y/n's attention, especially when there was a knock on the wooden gate leading to the backyard. Y/n stands to her feet and brushes her hands off on her jeans before opening the gate to a very tall, well built man with long salt and pepper hair, adorning leather clothing and jacket. He was obviously older than her and most likely the rest of them as well but man if he was old there was no indication of him looking or acting his age that's for sure.
"Michael Maibery, what on earth are you doing back in town?" She yells with a smile giving the large man a big hug with a smile on her face, wrapping her arms around his neck happily. "I was just passing through and thought I'd stop by to see my favorite girl while I was here." He chuckles hugging her back just as tightly before letting go. "Look at how much you've grown! Last time I saw you I believe you were barely starting high school."
The pair laugh with each other and catch up for a few more minutes before a deep growl can be heard from behind her. Y/n quickly turns around to see both her tiger and panther hybrid on the back porch with their arms crossed staring at the pair of them. "Uh before we continue to catch up, I would like to introduce you to my boys."
Taehyung's heart skips a beat when she refers to them as her boys not the guys like she used to when they first started living at the farm with her. The strange man walked alongside her and onto the porch. His large stature a cause for intimidation but he's offered a seat and sits down. "Your boys huh?" Michael says shortly with a chuckle making Y/n blush only now realizing the words that had come out of her mouth.
"Y-Yeah my boys. They came in with the storm a few months or so ago and I just couldn't let them go back to being strays. My worst fear for any stray hybrid is Hybrid Control. They're anything but pleasant especially with exotic hybrids." Y/n says sheepishly as Taehyung and Yoongi eye the stranger dangerously.
"Taehyung- Yoongi this is Michael Maibery, he was an old friend of my mothers growing up and he was there for me a lot when I moved in with my grandparents." Y/n spoke factly to the pair, she had hoped one of them would be civil enough to at least take the hand Michael had outstretched for one of them to take.
"I see these two aren't ones for a handshake. Noted." Michael chuckles before dropping his hand to his lap. "I see you've got the farm almost completely redone." He says awkwardly trying to shake off the odd feeling of being watched from behind before the sliding glass door is pulled open and Jimin comes rushing out and starts sniffing the new man with his tail wagging behind him.
"Who is this? He smells good, not to mention how handsome he is. Is that your bike out front? Y/n how come you never told us about-" The golden retriever speaks ninety to nothing with a bright smile on his face. "Okay Jimin, hold up a second- this is Michael he was an old friend of my mothers."
Y/n struggles with prying the hyper dog hybrid off of Michael and calming him down beside her, holding tightly onto his waist. Michael sits smiling and laughing at the pair of them when Y/n speaks into Jimin's ear causing the poor guy's cheeks to go red for what reason he had no idea.
"I'm sorry for coming on so strong. I smelled you when you pulled up and I guess I got excited to meet someone who had a familiar scent to Y/n's." Jimin mumbled, Michael and Y/n exchange confused glances towards each other before returning to their previous conversation.
"Oh to answer you, uh, yeah the boys really have helped me put things back together out here and the sunflowers are doing amazing as always. Yoongi and Hoseok, he's the red fox hybrid of mine... they helped me set up the flowerbeds by the porch a few weeks ago. The seven of them are handy in their own little ways, I guess."
Michael took a deep breath in through his nose, his wide baby blue eyes staring at her and the three hybrids currently outside. Jimin's tail had stopped thumping on the porch bench and he looked rather nervous, Taehyung's ear twitched as he looked anywhere but at the man and Yoongi just scowled at him his tail swishing around pointedly and one ear twitching like mad.
"Seven? Are they all feline inclined? Well, except Jimin obviously." Michael smiled at him, giving him a scratch behind his ears. Jimin couldn't help but preen under his gaze as his tail resumed it's thumping against the outdoor couch.
Y/n was silent for a few seconds trying to figure out a way to explain to him that only one of her hybrids was domesticated, one was a prey hybrid and the rest were apex predators. Although Jungkook didn't put himself off as prey given his strong stature and the aura of fuck around and find out surrounding him on the daily.
"Uhm, well, n-no." Y/n voice comes out hesitantly and high pitched as she looks at Michael with a please don't judge me or them facial expression. "I have one domesticated, which would be Jimin here and six- uhm exotic hybrids. Five of which are predators and one that's p-prey. Although you wouldn't guess he was a prey hybrid if it wasn't for the antlers on his head."
Y/n chuckles and releases her grasp on Jimin's waist and he jumps over to the other seat beside Michael without hesitation. He crosses his legs over the other as a bead of sweat trickles down his forehead and disappears under his shirt. "You have a deer hybrid? Aren't they extremely skittish and tend to run off a lot?"
Before Y/n could even open her mouth to correct him the doors to the back porch slide open for a final time as the last four of her hybrids tumble out of the house, Jungkook leading them outside and lighting a cigarette. "Alaskan Yukon Moose actually, I wouldn't survive as a deer if I'm being honest. Domestic or wild doesn't matter. What I want to know is why you smell so damn familiar." Jungkook grunts taking a long drag off his cigarette.
Michael shifts in his seat awkwardly glancing between Jungkook and Y/n practically begging her to save him. "Jungkook why do you have to be so blunt when you speak? It's like nails on a chalk board every time you open your fucking mouth." Yoongi growls his eyes flitted yellow towards the hybrid across the patio which only made Jungkook's small grin grow by the second.
"Awe did I get under the kitties skin? It's an honest question and I'm sure everyone here wants to know why he smells just like Y/n 'cause I know I do- not my fault no one else is willing to fucking ask." Jungkook points between Y/n and Michael before he grunts again this time low and menacing as Yoongi hisses back at him. "Oh I'll get under your skin here in a fucking minute you over grown piece of meat."
"Hey now if you two want to fight you can take it to the stables! I will not have you two beaten and bloody on my porch! Do you understand me?" Y/n stands and barks at the hybrids causing everybody even Namjoon to flinch a little bit when she yelled over the pair of them arguing.
Jungkooks scoffs and rolls his eyes as Yoongi shuffles back inside pissed and ready to boil over in anger- slamming the glass door in the process making it shake with force. Y/n sits back down, pinching the bridge of her nose in annoyance. "I'm sorry I don't know what's gotten into them all of the sudden."
Jungkook rubs the back of his neck glancing at Namjoon for a second before apologizing with his round eyes. Y/n pats him on the shoulder, telling him it was alright and to not think about it too much.
"I see you've got your hands full. Nothing you can't handle though, right? You've always been the tough girl growing up." Michael chuckles and stands from the bench taking a few steps off the patio. "Where are you going?" Y/n stands quickly making the six hybrids shuffle a few paces after her. Michael turns back to the seven of them when he notices the panther staring from the kitchen window. "I know you're going to be well taken care of with these guys so, ain't really a reason for me to stay much longer."
Y/n is taken aback by his words, she hasn't seen him in years since her grandpa died and now he's just going to up and leave? "Will you stay for dinner? At least, please? I haven't seen you in forever and I would like to do introductions properly if I can?"
As the day went on both Taehyung and Yoongi stayed close to her side as much as they could. Seokjin helped her with dinner as per usual as if nothing was different between the two of them. Namjoon and Jungkook mainly stayed in the living room watching whatever was on the television. Hoseok and Jimin stayed outside to play catch to get rid of some of their energy before dinner.
Dinner went smoothly as it could only a few arguments here and there. Yoongi ate his dinner in his room, Y/n had to leave his plate next to the door because he refused to answer, only giving her a grunt to acknowledge she was there.
Yoongi's reaction earlier made Y/n a little upset, she didn't mean to snap at him like that, she was just caught up in the moment and didn't want a fight on her hands. Not like she could have done much to pry the two of them apart if they did get into a fight. It made her feel angry but also hurt at the same time.
Any of her hybrids hurting anyone or each other made her heart sink to the bottom of her stomach. She had grown attached to each of them and would hate to lose them just because of an argument or fight that could've been handled differently.
The boys occupy themselves downstairs watching a movie meanwhile I sit in my room upstairs on my bed reading a book, or at least trying to. Having Michael over and the constant questions and lingering stares especially from Namjoon and Jungkook was enough to bristle the little hairs on the back of my neck the entire time he was here. They obviously suspected something that I didn't, never really thought of it if I'm being honest. Not to mention Yoongi holing himself up in his room since his little tiff with the moose hybrid.
Yoongi has been on edge for a while which doesn't do anything for my nerves about his well being. Hybrid or not Yoongi and the other six are under my care for as long as they want it and the fact that scenting is a thing for them, makes me wonder if Yoongi needs the same thing right now. Well maybe not right now, I figure whenever one of them needs something like that, something that seems so intimate to me but maybe something so natural to them I'll leave it to them because the last thing I want to see is one of them looking as sickly as Namjoon did a few days ago.
A few moments drag by as I attempt to resume my reading when a soft knock comes from my bedroom door. It slowly creaks open and I remind myself to fix the hinges at some point. Then within a second a pair of white striped ears poke around the door before a pair of dark orbs land on my figure curled in bed with an interesting choice of book.
Taehyung looks around the room seemingly waiting to be invited in but before I can give him the okay the flash of a golden tail tackles me onto my back. "Y/n you missed it! We were watching the Notebook and Yoongi hyung actually came down-" Jimin cuts himself off, his tail going ramrod stiff and looks over at Taehyung who chuffs loudly, hanging out by the door with his arms crossed looking between the pair of us. "We just wanted to come by and say goodnight before we head off to bed. Also Yoongi is looking for you, he's sitting in the living room."
Taehyung looks at Jimin with a passing glance before looking back to me, his gaze lingering and his mind wandering back to the night of the bonfire. She was so close yet so far from him, it ignited a fire within him he didn't know was there and when Michael decided to show up, it took everything he had not to thoroughly scent her and stick to Y/n like he owned her even though he knew it was the other way around.
"Oh okay well, I'll be down there in a minute. Jiminie, I need you off of me babes." I look at the golden retriever hybrid with a shy smile before he kisses my forehead absently with a wag of his beautiful tail, he hops off of me and curling into Taehyung's side and he closes the door behind them.
I take a moment to collect myself, just what have I gotten myself into with these seven hybrids? These seven men? My mother would have gone a long with my decisions and been supportive with whatever I decided to do yet my father however always thought hybrids were nothing more than their animals.
I hated that about him, I remember one time when I was barely thirteen my father took me to the store for some beer and crappy snacks for his friends coming over later that day. I usually always kept my head down to keep my father from lashing out at me. I kept my arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times as they say.
But then after a while of walking down the bread and snack aisle I heard laughing and little snickers from a family next to us. I looked up while my father wasn't paying attention to see a little boy playing with a bunny hybrid, they looked about the same age at the time but she was taller than him. They were play fighting while the mother looked through the different snacks, a tiny bunny hybrid in the cart chewing on a half eaten celery stick while the bunny hybrid mother talked with the mother of the little boy.
They seemed like a really happy little family, all smiles and bursting with laughter. That was something I wanted but felt I didn't deserve at least that would be what my father would tell me once we were out of the store. He told me God punishes those who deserve to be punished, he said that I was always a bad girl since I turned ten and I deserved nothing less.
That night I spent only my second night locked in the basement without food or water for almost a week.
"Y/n?" Yoongi's voice drifted through the small crack between my double doors causing me to jump a little. "Yoongi, I was just about to head downstairs, are you alright?" I ask him softly closing my book and resting it on my nightstand almost knocking over my bottle of water. "M'fine, I just wanted to apologize for earlier. I know it was uncalled for it's just- Jungkook has always gotten on my nerves I just- never cared to respond to his bullshit before."
I notice the slight sheen on his forehead as he stands idle in the doorway but chose not to address it. Instead I study him for a moment while he spoke, his ears were pressed to his skull like he was afraid I was going to lash out at him like I had just hours prior. His stance stood tall and firm though, that was the one thing I noticed about Yoongi.
No matter how hard he tried to hide much of his emotions besides indifference of course, his ears would give him away every single time. The way they twitched when something bothered him, the way one of them would always droop when he was getting tired but wouldn't admit it. I found it adorable but also endearing all at the same time.
I take a deep breath and with a small smile Yoongi's ears begin to perk up a little bit. "It's okay Yoons, I'm sorry for snapping at you the way I did. I didn't mean to I just- didn't want anything to happen to either of you. You guys mean a lot to me, like a big family. Something I never really had, I promise I'll do better to control my anger."
Yoongi's tail taps the door seemingly happy he was forgiven about his behavior. Yoongi noticed the distant shine in Y/n's eyes from the bedside lamp, he takes a step forward but thinks better of it, trying to fight his instincts to hold her to him and scent her until they both fell asleep.
Yoongi clears his throat and nods at Y/n before giving her a tight lipped smile and slipping out of the door and speeding off to his room rushing past Seokjin making his way to his own bed after taking a shower the latter shaking off his weird behavior after he smells Y/n's scent lingering past his nose.
Today was filled with the necessary things that needed to be done. Y/n had talked to John and his grandfather for a good portion of the early morning. The mustang they had brought in was finally broken in and ready for resell or anything they wanted it for really. Jimin was a little reluctant to let him go and Dove seemed a little irked about it was well but Y/n pulled him into the horse trailer by the rope around his neck nonetheless.
"Thanks again Y/n, I knew we could count on you." John's grandfather beamed up at her, Y/n returning a smile of her own. "Of course pops, anything to help you guys out. You should really teach John how to properly ride a horse, though I thought he would have learned by now." Y/n quips looking over at him with a chuckle as John turned around looking a little hurt by her words with a hand over his chest. "Why ride a horse when you have a perfectly good ATV to drive?" He laughs after locking the trailer door, leaving with a side hug from Y/n and a small wave to the two hybrids perched on the front porch as they drove pass.
Once they drive away Y/n walks back inside when her phone rings a few times before she pulls it out of her pocket and answers it without looking at the caller ID. "Hello? I'm sorry who is this?" She asks as a low voice begins to speak through the receiver.
"Hello Miss Fontana this is Anthony Biltuck with Biltuck and Houston law firm how are you doing today?" She furrowed her brows then looks at her phone screen and sure enough it was the exact law firm mentioned. Why would a law firm be contacting her at such an early hour of the day? She was sure there was no law firm in the area that was even remotely opened this early or on a weekend.
"I'm fine all things considered. Why are you calling me?" She asks a tone of apprehension laced in her voice as Seokjin and Jungkook come to the landing of the staircase and Yoongi and Namjoon listen in from the living room, turning the television down to listen in on her phone call.
"Lovely, listen I was calling you about your Uncle James that has recently passed away.-" Uncle? Last Y/n knew she only had her grandparents, she knew nothing of this self proclaimed Uncle James. She began to pace the floor with her free arm across her middle.
"Wait, I don't know a James much less an Uncle James. Are you sure you don't have the wrong number?" She asks hesitantly as all of the hybrids have gathered around her. Jimin comes to her side and nudges her arm, then holding her hand and lacing his fingers with hers, rubbing his thumb against her wrist. Y/n glances at him with a small smile calming her nerves enough to keep her voice from breaking from anxiety.
"I understand the confusion but you are Y/n M/n Fontana? Born to Jonathan and Larissa Fontana? James was Jonathan's older brother, I would also like to send my condolences to you and family for the loss of your father-"
Y/n's whole body freezes at the mere mention of her father, the man who beat her every chance he got. She hadn't heard his name nor had she heard him labeled as her father for years. It made her scent go sour, making a few of the hybrids to cover their nose or like Jungkook completely leave the area in favor for outside. Y/n squeezes Jimin's hand absently and if he didn't know any better he'd say that her parents were a sore spot for her, especially her father.
"Y-Yeah th-that's me." She stuttered making Jimin go heavy on his scenting in hopes he could calm her like he had before. Rubbing the top of her head with his cheek and holding her close to him whining quietly as her scent began to dull under his touch. Yoongi had stayed close to her opting to gently hold the hand Jimin had let go of in favor of holding her waist. His tail wrapped tightly around her thigh his ears flat against his skull much like Jimins.
"Great! I'm going to need you to come up to Billings Montana for a few weeks maybe a month or two to go through the will and make a few decisions on his affairs that he's left for you."
"Montana?" She managed to choke out looking between the two hybrids that had stayed to comfort her.
"Yes, I would need to know how many of yours you will be bringing with you before you come this way. Don't worry everything will be paid for since this is a family affair after all." The attorney seems set on her coming all the way up there, not to mention it all being paid for? Under different circumstances Y/n would have jumped on the next available flight and been done with whatever is going on here. But with seven hybrids who don't even have their collars much less the proper adoption papers to board the plane?
Goddamn she had a lot more to do than she previously thought.
"Uhm as of right now- there will be eight of us, I don't want to leave my b-hybrids by themselves." Slowly getting a grip on reality her scent had gone back to pretty normal all things considered. She didn't know where to go for the legal papers, perhaps she could go down to the adoption agency and get things together there. Then she would have to get all of them collars even though she hated the thought of having to put ownership on seven men perfectly capable of taking care of themselves. Then again it is the law and the last thing she wants is for any of them taken away from her.
"I'll have to take care of a few things before I can make it up there I-"
"That is perfectly fine Miss Fontana. The complete will reading isn't for another two weeks you have time to get your affairs in order before leaving. I'll email you the plane tickets once the flight is booked for- eight."
Once he said his goodbyes and hung up the phone Y/n was stuck in her own head for a minute or two when Jungkook and Namjoon came back inside from the back porch with curious looks on their faces.
Y/n was still frozen in her spot- her mind going a million miles an hour while Jimin tugged on her flannel to get her to look at him. "She's frozen, what do we do? She won't move and her eyes are glossed over." Jimin whines his tail thumping against his leg- filled with anxiety as he tried to find her gaze like he had at the grocery store, trying to get her to come back to them. "The best thing to do for her right now is to sit her ass in a chair before her knees buckle out from under her." Yoongi says in a cool tone, pulling on her arm to which Y/n absently follows him to the lazy chair in the living room.
They sit her in the recliner as her mind swirls with questions and even less answers. She had an Uncle and a side of the family she's never even heard of and now she had assets and affairs left to her by some long lost Uncle on her fathers side.
Her father never mentioned he even had a brother, come to think of it he never mentioned his family even when her mother was alive, that she knew of. He kept a tight lid on that can of worms until the day he died by her hands, literally taking that little bit of information with him to the grave.
Jimin tucks himself behind her, wrapping his legs around her along with his arms- he's really worried for her because it's never taken her this long to come out of this trance before. Usually him or one of the others can snap her out of it pretty quickly but this?
This was something else entirely.
Yoongi kneels down to her level taking her hands in his causing her to flick her eyes to his soft caramel orbs. "Hey kitten, I'm going to need you to explain that phone call to us." He says in his calm low tenor tone smoothing his thumb over her tan skin gently, giving her a faint smile to hopefully coax an answer out of her.
Her lips twitch into a small smile of her own, unable to not smile after seeing Yoongi's little cat like grin. "I guess an estranged uncle of mine died and left a few things to me? He was my-" She takes a deep breath and sighs heavily. "-fathers older brother. I've never heard of him until today which is odd in itself but now I have to finish getting things ready for the upcoming winter a little faster than I wanted- not to mention I have to get you guys stupid collars for the flight and figure out adoption papers on top of all of that..."
Y/n leans forward and Jimin releases his hold on her as she slumps over burying her face in her hands letting out a sigh of frustration while bouncing her leg. They came to her as strays she didn't know if any of them had previous owners or if they truly were strays. Come to think of it she's had them here for months and doesn't know a whole lot about the seven of them in the first place. She was just happy to have people around after being alone for so long.
What was a girl like her to do?
The next few days is spent outside getting the ranch winter ready seeing as the weather was cooling down significantly. Y/n was getting out some of Dove's winter coats for when she sits in the stables and her phone rings.
This time it was John and of course Emily was with him this time instead of his grandfather. Y/n had explained everything to them the same day it had happened and needless to say her friends were scared for her because the two of them were the only ones who knew what really happened to her father all those years ago.
"Hey girly pop, how are things going?" Emily asks oddly quiet from the other end when she doesn't answer right away. "Oh uh- everything's fine, yeah. Jimin and Jungkook have been a lot of help in the stables and the others have been working hard making sure the plants won't be too terribly damaged while we're gone." Y/n huffs out raking her hand through her hair before putting her hat back on her head, today was a little hotter than the others so she was sweating just a little after dragging the heavy blankets out of storage.
Emily could tell by the tone of her best friends voice that she was thinking far more about other things than what she was physically doing, keeping her hands busy was a way of distracting herself from reality. "Y/n babes we were just calling you about the adoption papers you needed to fly out there and there's a small snag-" She pauses, waiting for the go ahead from John who's sat next to her in his living room. "Jimin still has an owner, his name is Bill Wittaker. He lives in the trailer park a few miles away from your farm house and-"
"We called him and he seemed pretty pissed that you had him in the first place." John interrupts Emily as she had stuttered just a second beforehand. Y/n's heart stopped at the mention of the man that had all rights to take Jimin away from her, all the color in her cheeks drained making her look lifeless. John and Emily are worried when they don't hear a single word nor a sound from the other end of the phone.
Y/n turned to see Jimin sat atop Dove with his beautiful smile and crescent shaped eyes as he rode the horse around for a bit laughing and having a good time. His yellow blonde hair flowing in the wind, the sun shining over his lightly tanned features, his strong legs draped over either side of the saddle and boots in the stirrups like a professional. He looked every bit like he had jumped out of a romance novel.
Y/n had gotten to know the retriever hybrid the best since they came here, always next to her like a true golden retriever. Always doing what she asked no matter how ridiculous her requests sounded to him, maybe a few side eyed expressions thrown her way every now and then, very sassy, very Jimin.
Everyone had their secrets Y/n knew that much for she had a few of her own she kept tucked away at the furthest corners of her mind. She just wished to know why Jimin would keep this type of information from her if he was to go with her in just a matter of ten days to a whole other state.
"Y/n? Are you there?" John asks through the phone, biting the nubs he called nails as Emily took the phone from his hand. "Listen Y/n I know how you must be feeling right now but you know we could always go down there and talk to him. I would bring Jimin with you just in case worse comes to worse, ya know?" Y/n absently nods her head before whispering a small yes from her tear filled tone. She wasn't ready to let Jimin go, not if her stubborn brain had anything to say about it.
As Y/n pulled her truck into the junk filled driveway of Bill's rather unkept home. Jimin shifts in the seat closer to her his tail wound tightly around her forearm nearly cutting off circulation from the last mile when he attached himself to her. His form seems even smaller as he curls into her side plunging his nose into her neck the best he could, slightly trembling.
"Do we really have to be here? Couldn't you just talk to him over the phone?" Jimin whispers into the crook of her neck as Emily slid out of the passengers side, holding her nose as a few non-hybrid cats loom around her feet their tails chopped off into little stubs at their backsides meowing loudly and rubbing against her pant leg.
Y/n puts her hand on his cheek making Jimin look at her with the most heart broken expression on his beautiful face and her heart aches for him as she coos. "Don't worry Jiminie, we're just going to talk through a few things and get your adoption papers filled out correctly." She kissed his temple softly, a silent promise between the pair of them, letting him hold onto her for as long as he felt the need to- which he didn't seem like he was ever going to let go of her anytime soon.
The three of them barely made it to the door before it swung open and a very unsightly obviously older man stood at the threshold holding a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other. He stood there blinking a few times before he fixed his shirt and cleared his throat.
"I see you brought the damn bastard with you, lets talk inside." The man sneers looking down at Jimin with a fixated snarl on his face making Y/n stand between the two of them protectively. Jimin curls in on himself behind her whimpering like a kicked puppy as they entered the trashed trailer.
You didn't need to be a hybrid to smell the black mold or lime scale littering the trailer. No matter how hard Emily tried to hide her disgust her facial expressions didn't help her in the slightest. She walked around with Y/n and Jimin following the man into the living room which was actually kind of clean to their surprise.
Taking a seat in the living room, Jimin still attached to Y/n and flinching every time the man in front of them moved in the slightest. Y/n felt something was very off about him besides the obvious disarray the man kept his home in. Gauging Jimins reactions there was no doubt some level of abuse going on in this house which made her blood boil and her ears turn red with anger, though she kept her emotions well hidden- better than Emily at least.
"We're here to discuss- well, rather fix Jimin's adoption papers so that I can take him on vacation with me in the next few days." Y/n speaks calmly though she grits her teeth into some form of a smile when she meets Bill's eyes that finally peeled themselves off of the whining hybrid next to her.
His smile is nasty, missing a few teeth the rest of them crooked and miscolored different shades of yellow. He leans forward in the lazy chair causing Jimin and Emily to move back but Y/n stood her ground keeping a hand on Jimins knee to keep his shivering form somewhat calm. "I see, y'know he ran away almost a year ago and his siblins' been missing him terribly-" Bill chuckles darkly turning his burning gaze back to the terrified hybrid shaking in his boots and hiding his face from view behind Y/n's shoulder.
"I have every right to keep 'em here given the 'doption papers say he belongs to me and only me." The man was nasty disgusting even, it took every ounce of restraint Y/n had in her not to slap the shit out of him with the way he kept looking at Jimin like a piece of meat. Scanning his body up and down like he was ready to devour him at a moments notice.
Y/n didn't know Jimin had siblings much less a mother given most hybrids had been made in labs especially the more exotic breeds. Nonetheless she kept firm hold on his knee to help keep him calm and herself from pouncing on Bill like a feral animal. If she was going to convince him to give Jimin up she needed this exchange to go smoothly.
"I understand that sir but I see you have more than your fair share of animals here, hybrid and non-hybrid alike. I would like to talk about uhm, adopting Jimin from you. He's been a very big help at my farm-" Bill raises his hand in front of her face to stop her talking before he looks in her direction his eyes glowing with something akin to mischief but more sinister.
"A farm you say? So you must have a pretty penny to spend, huh?" Bill grins as he waits for Y/n to respond. She shifts in her seat highly uncomfortable with the way he was staring at her with money hungry eyes. Emily looks at her from the side keeping her mouth closed in a tight lipped smile before exchanging a silent agreement between the two of them.
"Name your price and I'll pay it. I just want to take him home, please." Y/n all but begs the man in front of her as Jimin picks his head up out of her neck his eyes pleading with her when he gets her attention. "Please Y/n you don't have to pay for me. I'll just stay here it's fine I promise. He'll bleed you dry if you-"
Bill jumps from his chair and raises his hand to hit Jimin into silence. He flinches so hard he actually climbs halfway over the couch to flee the situation he feels he's caused. Y/n shoots up from her seat and grips Bill's wrist tightly- keeping his hand in place the look of pure hellfire in her eyes evident enough to both Bill and Emily that she wasn't going to let this man lay a single digit on her poor hybrid ever again.
"I'll give you three-hundred if you sign the adoption papers over to me giving me sole custody of him and swear on your life you will not under any circumstances set foot on my property for any reason to claim him back into your- care." Y/n spits her words at Bill her face a full grimace burning holes into his head as he rips his wrist from her solid grip grumbling some curse words and small form of agreement.
A little while later Y/n had just barely dropped Emily back off at Johns house and finally made it back to her own home breathing a heavy sigh of relief. Resting her head heavily on the back of the bench seat in her old beat up truck and closing her eyes she barely registers the heavy head on her right shoulder.
"I'm so sorry I didn't tell you, Y/n. I was scared you'd send me back so I didn't say anything..." Jimins voice was so soft she almost didn't hear him when he muttered his mumbled apology to her. She raises her head and rests her cheek on the crown of his head softly rubbing it against his shaggy blonde hair absently which she seemed to do often- even if she wasn't a hybrid herself.
Jimin didn't seem to mind though. "Ain't nothin' to be sorry for Jiminie." She mutters softly with her sweet accent, gently taking his hand in hers and lacing their fingers together with a small smile on her face. "Besides the bastard is lucky I didn't throat punch him and call the cops on him." She chuckles a little making Jimin do the same.
He snuggles in closer to her nudging his nose into the crook of her neck scenting her in appreciation for what she had done for him. Jimin was beyond grateful and a little surprised at the lengths Y/n was willing to go for him. It was sitting in the truck in that moment that he had realized the feelings he had for her at the start of these crazy months was blooming into something much more, intimate.
"Why don't you say we head inside before the others come looking for us?" She coos softly, faintly kissing his forehead and Jimin leaning into it as his golden tail began to thump on the bench seat for the first time since their journey started.
"Y/n, do you ever feel like- maybe you've found the place you're meant to be? Maybe it's just my instincts or my yearning to have a place to truly call home but," Jimin pauses for a moment before Y/n picks her head up again and Jimin does the same. They look into each others eyes neither one looking away. It's like time had stopped for the pair of them, a silent song playing to fill the silence and suddenly Jimin could see it all.
The eight of them living in this very house together all smiles and laughter swirling about the late evenings. Summer night bonfires with friends and family. Early mornings tending to the farm animals with a to go cup of coffee sitting in the truck as Y/n takes Dove out for a morning ride with Jimin beside her on his own horse laughing and smiling until his cheeks hurt.
Some mornings though, would be spent sleeping in until the late hours of the morning maybe until early afternoon. Laying in bed together, Jimin able to see the beautiful grace of her morning bedhead as she slept peacefully next to him. Her cheek squished against her pillow making her lips form an adorable pout just waiting to be kissed awake.
And maybe one day there would be little pups running around his legs, begging to be picked up and carried around on their daddy's back pretending to be a horse of their own. Or perhaps spending cool evenings around the porch firepit roasting marshmallows over the fire. Jimin most likely burning more than a few of them making the pups laugh. Saying things like 'silly daddy, you're not supposed to burn them' or possibly hear them make grossed out noises when he just pops the burnt marshmallow into his mouth and eat it with a smile.
And by the end of the night after they've gone to bed and said goodnight to their uncles, the eight of them would settle down for a movie before bed. Y/n would be cuddled in close to his side wrapped up in one of the big blankets from the linen closet and when the movie would be over Jimin would have to carry her to bed and tuck her in. Slipping in behind her with a content sigh as his held her close to his chest and slowly letting himself drift off to sleep himself only to do it all over again the next day.
The pair began to close the gap between them. Y/n cheeks burned bright as Jimins nose brushed her own and she sucked in a harsh gasp of air holding it for dear life as their lips connected. The kiss was still for a second before Jimins eyes fluttered closed lost in the taste of her lips against his. Y/n followed suit shortly after his lips began to move against hers. She wasn't expecting it but he was a domesticated hybrid and once again she was reminded to look up more information about the seven of them if she was to survive all of them.
Her mind didn't stop her from enjoying the way Jimins pillow soft lips felt against her own. His lips felt something akin to a fresh dough before being thrown in the oven to bake. The way his lips moved against hers so perfectly, the outside world long forgotten to her and him. Jimin shifted in the seat to face her better, pushing against her and to his surprise she pushed back.
The retriever hybrid pulled on the loop of her jeans on either side of her hips successfully pulling her into his lap. Y/n cradled his face in her hand drifting to the nape of his neck and weaving it into his hair. The other rested on his opposite shoulder as his small yet agile hands kneading into her hip dips just below the belt of her jeans. The windows began to fog up just barely as the sun had set below the horizon and the cool night air began to nip at the back of Y/n's neck since the truck was off.
Jimin was the one to break the kiss, his eyes heavy and blown out keeping a firm grip on her hips refusing to let go of her just yet. He hazily looks into her eyes with a goofy yet droopy, doped up smile on his face making his eyes close into crescents. "Well, that wasn't- I mean it was..." Y/n struggles to find the right words for what just happened between them when Jimin cups her cheeks between his hands with a stupid grin on his face quickly kissing her nose.
"You don't have to say anything right now princess, I honestly forgot my own train of thought. Really you're just so intoxicating by yourself and after what you did for me today- it just put a few things into perspective and I really liked you from the start but now-" Jimin was nearly scared half to death with a knock to the driver's side window and Y/n quickly scrambles out of his lap and unceremoniously manages to not kill herself sliding out of the passengers side door and onto her feet like an agile cat landing on it's paws.
"What're you guys doing in there for so long the windows fogged up?" Jungkook asks with his shit eating grin on his face. Y/n rounds the truck with Jimin behind her holding onto his hand blankly staring at the moose hybrid before her. "Oh shut up, how long were you standing there?" Y/n stabs her finger into his chest. "Fucking Christ woman I just got out here two seconds ago, slow your roll." Jungkook chuckles removing her accusing finger from his chest cavity and rubbing the spot attentively. He notices the clouded look on Jimins face and it suddenly dawns on him what must have happened.
One of them finally made a real move on their person.
