I decided with this Tumblr account, that I shall track all of fandom hyperfixations throughout 2025. Obviously with the banner, starting with Squid Game 2's 457 ship.

457 - Gihun and In-ho from Squid Games

I will say, JayVik had me in a chokehold for like 2 months at the end of 2024, but that was 2024, and this ship took me so damn suddenly. Like I have not had the urge to draw doodles, fangirl in fandom space, or have the urge to write anything about a ship in a very long time - like I don't even know how to make edits, but I have edit ideas. Also want to rewatch season 2 again already, just to rewatching with new eyes and a brain now in 457 brainrot.

Also please writers keep all the fanfics coming. <3 I've been reading so many fics of Gihun and In-ho for the past few days in between work, and it's been marvelous. Has really scratched a hyperfixation itch I was missing for awhile. These fics can be my motivation as work begins again :')

I feel I will be fixated on these two for quite sometime. Their dynamic is just so interesting and their motivations and moralities are not set in stone enough that it gives such great space for fandom writers and creators to play with. Love itttt.

(also would love to see other people track their hyperfixations - it makes for a really interesting thing to look back on)

i've seen figure skater sanji and hockey player zoro before. idk if its been explored but i'd love to put it out there:

hockey player sanji (specifically goalie bc he desperately wants to avoid being checked) and then pairs skater zoro.

pairs skater zoro's long time partner has been nami. though many people ship them together a Lot, they just know each other super well. Well enough to try dating and both of them realized they don't swing that way. in fact, it makes them a really good team. they fought long and hard to claim top spots in competitions because they portray a chemistry that's separate from the rest. plus zoro can carry nami like she weighs fucking nothing. so their lifts are so much more dynamic. they even have a whole next to impossible combination that they're trying to get the ISU to name after them officially.

sanji plays for the East Blue Straw Hats in the Grand Line Hockey League – a formidable rookie group that took down lots of big names in the preseason. they want to make it all the way to the postseason playoff finals but always seem to fall short. but theyre so determined. they reignited a lot of old sparks that were no longer there for old fans and brought in new and curious fans. sanji is the starter goalie and a damn good one at that. it makes sense bc goalies are often doing splits on the ice just to make a save. he's perfected the technique that utilizes just his legs to make saves that make the crowd go fuckin insane.

we have the usual "i booked the rink to practice before you did" trope but a little more spice. in actuality, sanji loves watching pairs skating competitions. his favorite pair rn is franky and robin (mostly for robin). and he adamantly does not want to admit to anyone that he watches zoro and nami's routines much more frequently. (and if anyone asks, he always says its bc of nami. its never just bc of nami.) and zoro's besties with luffy so he always watches their matches even if he barely understands the rules. and he definitely does not stare at a certain blond starter goalie most of the match thats fucking ridiculous

one day zoro and sanji are invited to do one of those comparison videos between hockey players and figure skaters. both get to laugh at the other even Attempting to do their sport. zoro frankly looks ridiculous in all of sanji's usual goalie get-up. and sanji couldn't land an euler to save his life. the video producer suggests they try a simple pairs skating routine. sanji is like "oh i couldn't do that–hEY WHAT THE FUCK MOSSHEAD PUT ME DOWN" because zoro lifted sanji and had him sat on his shoulder like it was normal.

zoro smirks, "you might be lighter than nami, actually. wanna be my new partner?"

sanji knees him in the stomach before skating away while blushing so hard he could melt the ice beneath him.

ways i've found to engage in spins

seems obvious, but sometimes i forgot that i can just: go to the 'source'. like if your spin is a tv show, watching an episode may be enough to scratch the itch in your brain

music: can include listening to official soundtrack (if applicable), or playlists inspired by spin

community: tumblr, reddit, and pinterest are my go to places

read: books about spin, fanfiction, official posts/articles/interviews

watch: other people reviewing/reacting to spin, official interviews or backstage/development documentaries, bg ambience videos

create: fanart, inspired ocs, fanfiction, fanpage, tumblr blog, pinterest board, collages/shuffles

this is all i can think of from the top of my head... i will add when i think of more!!

please roblog and add more.. i definitely want to learn more ways... i can't ever get enough of my spins <33

Update - Rin's 2025 Hyperfixation Log (2)

Hello! It's Rin - I made this Tumblr account to track all of fandom hyperfixations throughout 2025. And I wanted to give an update that...

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAS CHANGED LOL. I am STILL happily fixating on 457 (since Season 2 dropped), but I feel we did need to add something to the list as an extension of this hyperfixation - I also have been fixated on Lee Jung Jae and his filmography, as you can see from the additions to the banner lol. My goal has been to watch 10 films of his before season 3, and I hope to write some reviews or thoughts on all of them at some points!

So...

Lee Jung Jae (+ his filmography + cheongdam couple) - yes, I went on the full rabbit hole and watched through so many youtube clip and interviews XD

*Lee Byung Hun's filmography tasting will come after season 3 lol - I have a few things I do really want to watch of his as well ^w^

As I said last time... I feel I will be fixated on these two for quite sometime. Hopefully, I will actually be creative with my fixation before the next update. XD Stay tuned? soon?

I’m thinking about the Degasi crew again and the ways they change throughout the story.

In their first couple logs, Bart is more… well, not timid, but doesn’t really stand up to the others as much. Marguerit is slightly less standoffish, and so is Paul, because they both are relatively confident in being rescued. They don’t exactly know when it will be, but still they think it will happen. They don’t really argue as much about what to do- they definitely still dislike each other, but it isn’t as vehement.

In their later logs in the Jellyshroom Caves, they seem to be more concerned about what’s happening. Marguerit knows something’s off, and Paul also does even if he won’t admit to agreeing with her; as a result they begin arguing more and more after the realization that rescue is not coming and they have to do everything themselves. Bart also slowly starts standing up for himself, like in log #5 (that one where his dad is lecturing him about capitalism and he’s like “um we are on an alien planet and I don’t think that matters right now.”) while simultaneously growing to love the planet more.

In the Grand Reef, most of that falls apart. After they discover the disease, they all really begin to clash, with Bart playing peacekeeper to make sure the others don’t do too much damage. (this could partially be caused by the disease, as one of the canon symptoms is increased aggression) and Marguerit becoming more reckless which eventually culminates into the Reaper attack. Paul also becomes more stubborn and attempts to order everyone around, probably because he sees it as their only hope.

After the DGR base gets destroyed it’s dubious as they all get split up. However it’s implied (or just stated, I don’t remember) in Marguerit’s logs from Below Zero that she purposely attacked the Reaper after the base was destroyed because she wanted to give the others time to get away. This also shows how they seem to care about each other more than they would like to admit, even if that care is just “I don’t want to see you die”. In Paul’s last log, he also mentions wondering what happened to her, to me implying he did care -even slightly- as well.

During all of that, Bart makes his way to the surface and after an indeterminate amount of time records the last log. The disease and loss of the other two definitely changes him even if it’s just trauma, however he does seem more at peace than the others (is this his personality or just the shock or the fact he’s had more time to come to terms with it, we will never know)

It appears that I've become the most annoying person right after watching Bridgerton Season 2 bc now I'm obsessed with anything that is Kanthony.

In other news, House of Ashes x Bridgerton crossover...... In which the Marines are the Bridgerton family and the Othmans will mirror the Sharmas storyline of season 2.

Ofc Jason will be taking Anthony's place as the viscount trying to marry out of duty rather than love, and Salim will mirror Kate as his constant foil. That unfortunately leaves Zain to take Edwinas place as the one Jason will initially go after which makes me cringe just thinking about it (Zain will be Salims son rather than his sibling, and that dynamic would make things even weirder unfortunately) 😭

I do wanna tweak the story a bit so it's more specific to Jalim rather than being copy paste of the Kanthony storyline, but one thing for certain is that Jason gets to wear suits and Salim gets to be in pretty dresses !!

Also, Kanthony in HoA where they get to team up and kill vampires together.... Very hot.

I blame this on @ctrvpani for even putting this idea in my head to begin with 🤝

How fortunate am I to have so many Things to love and be excited about, to appreciate and look forward to?

Things I feel so strongly about that they stumble into my mind, univited, at random times of the day? Things that spill into my speech and vocabulary without me noticing? Things that impact my vision to the point where everywhere I look, everywhere I go, I see ghosts of them?

How lucky am I to have so many Things I love and cherish enough for them to reshape my very person, change my beliefs and make me grow? Things that make my own loved ones see the Things out in the wild, and go out of their way to make sure I see them too?

How wonderful is it that I have Things that I love so much that the very act is deemed and dubbed "not normal", making my love for them seem like it's more than they are supposed to recieve? An out-of-the-ordinary and above-the-norm appreciation for the Things that make the people around me shake their heads, call me "silly".

My dear, beloved Things, may I always stay silly for you ❤️
