The three of us had gotten into a fight them fighting about how much lack of sun I gotbhow little I was eating due to sleep while I had to scream back i couldn't help it, I'm a child of hypnos were naturally lazy and not bothered to do anything.

Soon nico joined myside being he understood the fact I can't controll my powers like clovis or another half-blood.

"You're both being idiots! Y/n I'm worried, I haven't seen you eat anything for 3 days!" Will argued. "Will, I can't...help it..." I mutter holding my head. Tears floored my eyes as nico was torn between agreeing either me or Will.

"Will mabey we calm down I heard from clovis stress can cause-" "nico you looking away from the facts, y/n hasn't been out much only for lessons in fact and been sleeping through meal times"

Soon will land nico started to fight and the world around me started to ring. My vision blinking in and out I purse my lips together my eyes teared up.

Before I had realised I had shadowed traveled to a random location on a bunch of rocks, i couldnt tell but i was exhausted. I had landed with a grunt and probably a few grazes but i didn't care. They had started arguing because of me. I hadn't been fighting againt my nature to sleep to see I hadn't cared for myself for...God's know how long!

I curl lean onto my knees shivering at the cold. In a few hours they will stop arguing I kept in mind. I inhail deep the earthly sent and clench my eyes. God's I with I had wore more layers to bed a tank top and joggers arnt going go help with the cold.

It was late,very late. The only thing I could do is sleep even if it would start an argument... I clench my eyes shut ignoring the frosty nips at my skin.

When I woke up I was in a dark cave, covered in many pillows and stuffed toys. "Hello...?" I question my voice sounding more mature. A yawn came from inside the cave before a voice echoed back: 'hello...?'

"Where are we?" I ask wearily, "y/n?" I stay quiet for a few seconds "yes...?"

Meanwhile will and nico had seen searching for hours with the while camp trying to find their runaway lover. They checked, zeus fist, and all the building per chions request. while perxy and annabeth along with Grover checked: the stables, blackjacks stable, and the west woods the others searched everywhere else.

"Will, what If something bad happens to her...?" Nico asked quietly wrapping himself in his coat. "Nothing bad will happen in the camps perimeters" will reassured, not only nuco but himself. The doctor had been terrified when he notified his partner had completely vanished leaving a fragment of sleeping dust on nico's bed.

By now chion had to call of the search for the sake of the campers needing rest for the next days activities,yet he encouraged the couple to find their third peice and excused them from their activities if they find them. When the cabins pasted by the ares cabin gave each official member off the Hermis cabin a coin before grumvelign back to their bunk.

Of course they had set bets, probably: 'who won find the stupid lost girl who vanished into thin air?'

Will stood up from the front porch of the big house beofre stating:"Nico, you stay here just incase y/n was just wondering about the woods and finds their way back" "but will I want to go with you, their not on best terms with you right now" nico argued back, it was extremly rare for them to argue.

After climbing zeus's fist will looked over the edge to see his partner there, he scurried over the side and over to them.

will grazed his cold lovers face, "oh my sweet dear" he whispers. Wills medical mode kicked in and he sat the sleeping girl upright checking the pulse and for any injuries, only grazed hand and a small graze on the cheek.

The only problem was hiw he was going to get y/n down without endangering them.

With y/n she ventured into the cave keeping to the wall. Excripting of a man with wings and winged brow was carved into them but the colour had faded. The architecture was something annabeth would admire and praise. "Who is it?" They question.

"Pity you dont recognise you're father" the voice echoed. A clearing has been made where a fluffy bed had been layed in the center with many more comforters around. God's how big was that bed? King sized? Queen? No emperor size. "Dad?" She echoed back picking up the pace. The figure was sat upright with a blanket around them. "My child" he smiles before yawning.

It was y/n first experience seeing their dad in 14 years so they ran up and jumped onto him. Hugging him tightly. Warm arms hugged around them "my sweet child" he smiled. The pale man had wiped their fourhead of their hair before cupping their face. "The first girl ive had in century's, yet I couldn't meet you the day I claimed you"

Hypnos looked sad and looked lost in thought looking down at his child. Their hair had streaks of white in like how his hair was white, their face and eyes resembled their mother whom he loved dearly. You had been a miracle at birth, he has been their before hades had summoned himcback to the underworld before he could officially claim you as his demi-child.

It still upset red him how he couldn't see how you grew: you're achievements, acimplishemnts and fears. He had missed it for 14 years.

"I dont care, better late the never" they sob into his robes. Hypnos looks at their multi hair before running a pale scrawny hand through it. The father and daughter sat in a comfy silence her arms never leaning his body clinging as if he'll disappear when they let go.

" I fear you must go now, what was his name..? Will, would want you to wake up now and nico is probably worried sick" he sighed. His daughter sat up and nodded. "I'm happy to finally meet you" they croak their voice back to its normal volume.

"I'll see you in a few nights" he whispers kissing their fourhead, and quickly the fell back against him beofre their body disappeared onto sleeping dust.

Will had walked back to camp half blood with his jacket around y/n, by now the sun had risen and campers were cleaning up for cabin inspections. he held her close to his chest arms wrapped around their knees and back proudly walkign pas tthe cabinsaking those outside pause and start to cheer..

" will,you found them!" Nico yelled nearly falling of the porch and running towards them. He placed a hand on their head before jolt back "might aswell caught the dead their so cold" nico removed his iconic jumper and draped it on to his female partner.

Will kicked through hades cabin open and placed y/n to rest on nicos bed as the cabin owner started up the green-ish blue flamed fire. "I'm so glad their ok" will sighed sitting on the bed next to them. Nico knelt of the floor and held his hand to their cheek tracing it gently along their jaw line.

"I tried to tell you stressing and scaring a hypnos kid can cause them to enter a state of distress and sleep as a form of defence"

"I'm sorry for cutting you off" Will sighed finally admitting the fact y/n still needed to learn to controll their powers.

"Hmm...? Nico what's going on?" Both snapped their head at the awaking partner. "Oh y/n I'm sorry I scared you" Will managed out shifting up the bed and hugging their sleeping form. "It's fine...you're right, I need to start a storing out a schedule" "also one thst can fit woth natural sleeping habits" nico adds smiling

[Essay] MissingNo Therian: An Exploration in Identity, Labels, and the Fictotherian Experience

We've seen a few posts of people wanting more personal essays in the community, so I thought I would write this and crosspost it to Tumblr. -Rex

I am a MissingNo. My exact form is one that's been fluid throughout my life, with Kabutops and Aerodactyl fossil forms having preference, but occasionally switching to the Lavender Town Ghost. I identify as a Pokemon therian or Poketherian for my species - or fictotherian for a broad term. This identification is one which can confuse people - after all, therianthropy is more traditionally associated with animals, and I identify as Pokemon that isn't real. My species only exists in four games that are well over two decades old and is a failsafe the game spits out. Why should I identify as a therian? Despite how strange it can seem, I still prefer therian over other labels such as otherkin and fictionkin. My therian identity is deeply intertwined with my hyperempathy, created by a bias of my animality, comes from viewing a MissingNo as a type of animal, and from experiencing common therian traits.

Therian over otherkin, fictionkin, or fictive

Some may be saying "why don't you call yourself fictionkin?" or even "Isn't otherkin for mythical species, while therian is for earthen species?" To address the later point, there have been better written essays dispelling this. I would highly recommend Therian: Dispelling the Earthen Animal Myth by The River System for a well written and researched essay.

To address the former point, it is personal preference. I did use "otherkin" for years and still do identify as both otherkin and fictionkin, but the term "therian" is more in alignment to how I experience identity. I am an animal, I experience shifts, and I experience instincts.

I don't perceive MissingNo as sapient on the level of elves or some dragons. For me, being a MissingNo is also a "real" thing, as tangible as a dog, bird, or dragon. I don't consider myself glitchkin despite being a glitch, nor conceptkin. I am like the theriomythics who label themselves for being an animalstic gryphon or phoenix.

When it comes Fictionkin and fictive, to me they can be too focused on identifying yourself in the framework of being a character, which I'm not. I'm not a creepypasta character anymore than one of the Hypno species would be. I still do identify as fictional - I can comfortably identify as "fictherian" or my preference "fictotherian" (Which comes from "fictotype". I believe I started this term usage - since when I started using it, I could find no results to it, but I did use it in forum posts, Discord servers, and other methods).

Fictive falls under a similar problem - but with slightly more alienation. While the term is open to me, my identity history makes me feel out of place in a community of walk-ins and introjects when it was one that developed later in life.

How I became a MissingNo and the grip of hyperempathy

My identity as a MissingNo came later in life. I began existing in my system as a canine pup - which I know from behaviors and mannerisms that I later connected to me in the present, and genuinely expressing feeling like a dog as a child. Years later, I identified this species as a manned wolf.

Then at around the age of ten, my identity shifted to a glitch Pokemon. What at least contributed to it was developing a special interest in Glitch Pokemon around this time. This combined with our natural hyper-empathy and perhaps being conceptum to subconsciously alter my identity over time.

These interpretations can cause me to be out of place. While I still love glitch Pokemon and I am fascinated by them, I rarely find anyone who also has an intense interest and fascination while having this level of hyperempathy - even if I encounter others who have some alterhuman or even gender or sexuality connection to glitch Pokemon. Almost uncontrollably do I see glitch Pokemon as genuine Pokemon. I might grow attached to certain Pokemon in the way I would a pet.

The overall psychological influence means that this identity comes down to personal interpretations and personification. I'm not a natural animal and you cannot read about me in a textbook or find any bits of lore within the games, but rather, I am an animal that came from the mind of a mentally ill person.

MissingNo the animal

What defines "animal" varies. Humans are biologically animals and primates, but not all humans identify with those terms, with some taking offense to it. To someone with hyperempathy, a stuffed animal may be as much of an animal as a living one, or even a car might be a type of animal to certain minds. This connection is what makes me feel a MissingNo can be a type of animal.

Additionally, Pokemon are their world's equivalent of animals, and this is how most of my system views Pokemon due to one of our deepest parallel life connections being a humanlike Mewtwo. This sentiment is also one I've seen many Poketherians have. In the world of our origin, we are animals. For another essay on a similar experience, I'd highly recommend "The Fire Burns Bright" by Jasper, an Alolan Marrowak therian.

Within the contexts of the games and many interpretations - including my own - MissingNo is also a bird. It is one of few Pokemon which use this glitch beta typing. Being a bird can be equally as much a part of it and I'd consider birds as a paralleltype and one where I may confidently call myself a bird. Albeit a very odd bird.

The wolf and animal bias in my core

In addition to the bird of the MissingNo, the manned wolf at my heart is still important to my identity. It's in between otherhearted and therian on a sliding scale, and I identify it more as manned wolf-hearted for convenience, but it's closer to "kinth". I don't know why I am or was a manned wolf, but it doesn't quite matter to me either way. What matters is that there is the manned wolf.

To me it feels as if despite my core being or "soul", my mind became a MissingNo while the core remained the same. To my soul, a MissingNo is a type of dog. Then, to my mind, a manned wolf is a type of Pokemon. Both of these identities came about and exist in harmony rather than opposition.

Another comparison that the heart and soul makes is being "feral". Glitch entities in video games to me are almost like an animal which can't be domesticated. They may act fine, but every so often you'll encounter something that reminds you that at their core, they're wild. MissingNo still scrambles sprites and Hall of Fame data - and you can't have a "normal" experience with it. MissingNo is to Pokemon as a wolf is to a dog.

The instincts that made me tear apart playsets when playing house pretending to be a dog are still present in the instincts that make me want to tear apart meat when I eat it.

The Experience of a MissingNo Animal

I fit into many traditional therianthropy experiences and unto a hybrid canine/avian experience - just perhaps with more twists towards the bizarre.

I am a contherian when it comes to mental shifting and almost always feeling like an animal. However, I do experience phantom shifts. I get the sensations of skeletal fangs, claws, and a body that's far heavier and taller than my tiny, human form. Though the bizarre comes when during these shifts, I don't feel like I have skin and much of my body feels transparent, I feel like I should be able to stick my hand through my lower jaw.

I feel the sense of freedom and flight when I ride a bike downhill. For a few minutes when I bike, I can imagine myself flying. I sit in rivers and ponds among the wading birds feeling like I belong. I treat the chicks and chickens we raise like a part of my flock.

I still want to hunt. Sometimes I need to fight my instincts to recognize chicks as flockmates and not food. I like to eat wildly and I like to taste blood and fat in my food. When I eat, I feel like like the blood should dribble through my skinless jaw bone. Skeletal claws should be typing this essay instead of fleshy human fingers.

Conclusion

I am an animal, and despite doubts, I am a therian.

This label fits my experiences better than the alternatives. I don't feel as much alienation or out of place compared to other communities even though my species isn't an "animal" in the traditional sense. Hyperempathy has created this experience for me in that I feel more comfortable saying I am an animal than I am from fiction.

My center being is animal and always has been, it's just how its presented through my life has shifted. The animal instincts have only developed as my species has.

It is my hope that more unusual therians might come forth and be encouraged to examine their experiences - and for both earthen therians and potential theriomythics or fictotherians to explore what exactly "animal" means to them. I want others to also examine where their mind's biases may lead them, how that can impact their identity, and use it to feel more at peace in what the heart wants.

Getting into “pup space” and staying connected: a step-by-step approach

For pup players, achieving “pup space” - also known as "pup head" or "dog head", where your inner canine spirit comes to the fore as your primary sense of self-awareness and your human capacity fades into the background for a while - is our goal each time we're on all fours. Finding a consistent and dependable way to get there and maintain that connection can be challenging and frustrating.

Getting ourselves reliably "down there" - another term I like to use for inhabiting the realm of dog, the environment from a dog's perspective two feet off the floor where we inhabit a physical plane and level all our own, where the pup head can be sustained as we move through space - takes time and practice, just like learning a martial art or taking music lessons.

And like Brazilian jiu-jitsu and playing the trumpet, focused study of the elements that can induce pup space, combined with daily reinforcement of what we learn from that study – e.g., techniques, styles, movement breakdowns and Aikido forms, major and minor scales on your instrument - is the best way to achieve consistency. Practice makes perfect. Each time we go down to all fours, we go down more smoothly and quickly, we go deeper into pup space, and we can stay down there a little longer each time.

When I’m coming from a “cold” physical and mental stance, i.e., the times when I’m out of my normal constant light trance state and have been required to be “fully human” – 100% human, 0% dog – for an extended period, I have a routine to launch me back into pup space that’s tailored specifically for a cold start.

Going cold happens under certain conditions when I’m away from my home/kennel environment: if I’ve been traveling for more than two nights; after a meeting away from home that doesn’t involve kink (yes, it happens for lifestylers too); even at home if Master’s been away for a week and there was no boarding kennel or dog-sitter available to look after me.

Here's my “Cold Start” sequence:

It begins with the body. From a relaxed state, positioned on the edge of a couch or chair, wearing my pup gear, centered, balanced, leaning slightly forward from the waist, hind paws easily on the ground, front paws on knees, arms relaxed. My body posture and stance are inclined downward. My breathing is regular, centered, from my diaphragm (not my chest), then…

Sounds start coming out. The air I exhale just grazes my voice box enough to make a slight low sound “mmm” – lips together, then open to “huuuuuuh, huuuuuh…” and then a more animalistic “ahhrrrrr, ahrrrrr”. If you have a screen nearby, load it up with spirals or similar hypno images (there are many excellent pup spirals on Discord and YT, collect ‘em all!); if not, focus on a spot ahead of you about 2 feet off the ground. If you start to glaze over or blur, go with it (if it makes you uncomfortable, pull up and refocus/reset, then go back into relaxed stance).

Words begin, then degrade. Starting with fully-articulated human words, a three-word simple phrase -“Good boy Bruzr” – I repeat the phrase audibly in a half-whisper just loud enough for me to hear it, and as I look at my spot and feel myself heading down and forward to that spot [dog wants to see and sniff it already], I’m half-aware of my paws coming from my knees up to my chest and they start rubbing the sensitive spots (I’d stroke myself if I could but in this kennel, dogs don’t touch themselves, haven’t done it in 14 years for real).

As I repeat my doggy mantra, my tongue lolls out, making my words degrade into unintelligible speech, becoming “owooo, owooo, owooo” and I lean forward and down, then –

[gotta smell the spot NOW] and boom! I hit the ground, full-on 100% dopey happy dumb mutt Bruzr, just the way Master likes it, barking up a storm and howling my head off! and I'm where I belong, where I'm meant to be.

It's a repeatable process - a sequence of actions that I step through the same way each time I start from cold, involving body, sound, light self-hypnosis, breathing and relaxation, and a moderate nudge I give myself by speeding up my breath to rev up for the launch off the couch.

This all comes together to set up an unobstructed flow of energy starting at my physical center of breath (your breath is the closest thing to your spirit and serves as a key to unlock its power), taking my body to all fours in a smooth, unified, natural way.

I want to emphasize that this set of techniques is what works for me. How did I settle on this sequence? Practice, practice, practice. Trial and error over decades, going up and down thousands of times. But that doesn't mean you need to log that kind of mileage to get consistent and effective results!

You can do this solo. It’s important to be able to achieve pup space connection when we are alone; this is how confidence in a sense of the “pup self” is developed and made stronger.

If you want to try this method out and see how it fits, you can follow the steps and techniques as I describe them here, and/or you can take this sequence and use it as a flexible template, a baseline for creating your own sequence using elements (music, lighting, indoors/outdoors, etc.) that help you achieve relaxation and focus.

Change your usual setting. Experiment with your starting posture and stance. For vocalizing, play with sounds and words until you find that “sweet spot” that flows smoothly. Got a playlist you like that helps you trance out or get motivated? Let it rip!

One more thing: Be easy on yourself. No one, regardless of how long they've been a pup, achieves a 100% connection to full headspace 100% of the time - it’s ok to be frustrated. Keep practicing and give it the time you need and deserve.

During a play session, it's not uncommon for the link to fade and reset multiple times. Years ago, I was given a helpful trigger: When the connection drops, I take a deep breath and expel it with the same “ahrrrrr” sound I used in my sequence, restoring the connection and taking me deeper into pup space.

Don’t sweat it when it happens; jump right back and reset the connection. Our link to pup space can be mischievous and quirky, just like us! You’re not “doing it wrong” – there’s no such thing in Pup Play – you’re persistent, determined, doggedly sniffing out that signal! Trust that your connection will strengthen and become more persistent over time.

Practice, explore, refine, find what works, do it regularly and often, and you will be rewarded with positive results and deeper, dependable connections.

Hypno Tizd is a mercenary, a set of hired eyes and wings. This bat-folk has yellow eyes and keen ears.

Stress Monster is pretty sure she’s a faerie. A wandering merchant and defender of the wee beasties of the world with violet eyes and clawed hands.

Iskall is the vice-mayor and right-hand-man to Keralis of Iceberg Metropolis. Pale blue of eye and wearer of a strange, revolutionary prosthetic made by Doc of the Maw.

X B is the survivor of a disaster that destroyed the aquatic civilization of Geyser Heights. A guardian-folk of blue and orange scales that works as a messenger.

Vintage Beef is a human, plain and simple, and the best barkeep of Joe Hills’ Elsewhere. Kind, strong, and tolerating of zero nonsense is he.

Zedaph is a self-declared oddity, the son of a chicken and a sheep. He does not so much wander as he does blow about, abandoning experiments in the middle of the desert and dodging the various minor crimes he is periodically wanted for. Bright, blue-eyes, and bursting with energy.

Welsknight is probably a human, the trusted retainer of Bee Double Oh, Lord of Livingstone. Hardworking and more than competent, the blue-plumed rider is almost always pacing about in the background.

Dear Vector Prime, what can you tell us about the bounty hunter Nightfright?

Dear Batty Bountiful,

Nightfright was the brother of the Predacon known as Screechwing, and shared his alternate mode of a large cybernetic bat, though he was red in color. As a bounty hunter, Nightfright was well known for taking jobs from the Predacon Council where he was tasked with hunting down turncoats to the Predacon cause.

I've already told you of how he slew the Dinobot Terrorsaur and was slain by Grimlock in retribution, but Nightfright's targets were many. In one particularly harrowing job, he was sent after a mark by the name of Bonecrusher, a former Predacon who transformed into a bulldog. Nightfright tracked Bonecrusher to the refuse reclamation center he'd come to live in, and though the canine Maximal fought viciously, he succumbed to Nightfright’s phobia-inducing hypno-waves; Bonecrusher was overcome by visions of his greatest fears, leaving him defenseless to the bounty hunter.

Still yet another victim of Nightfright's was the grasshopper Maximal, Kickback. A craven coward, he left the Predacons and cozied up to the Autobots with promises of secret intel. Nightfright discovered that Kickback had a taste for organic snacks, and set a trap for the ravenous Insecticon… by ensnaring some aliens to use as bait. While Kickback devoured them, Nightfright snuck up behind the Maximal and blasted him.

There is one last job of Nightfright's, however, which truly lays bare his vile barbarism—his hunt for Apelinq, a particularly noble Predacon who deserted over moral objections' to the Council's cruelty. Apelinq did not resettle among the Autobots, but instead took refuge on a distant planet, where he became protector of a group of indigenous natives. Rather than target the formidable Apelinq directly, Nightfright terrorized his protectorate, picking them off after sundown one by one… until Apelinq was near-catatonic with grief and guilt, unable to muster the will to defend himself against the bat Predacon.

Nightfright was a truly corrupt individual, and his death at Grimlock's hands was met with relief by Autobots, Maximals, and Predacons alike. It is said that not even Screechwing mourned his brother's passing.

The Caerleon family consists of

Arcturus (Arty) [he/him], the father, pure arcanine, standing at an imposing 8 and a half feet tall. Well muscled, still a bit of gut, he's been a professional battler since he was young, at first solo, and then tag team once he met his wife. Generally a happy man and an easy laugher, he's always excited to fight, or at least to be doing anything active. Pure Fire type.

Guinevere (Gwen) [she/her] - mom! She's a Meowscarada, specifically using Karina's design, aside from the altered design, she's a relatively normal Meowscarada. Was an entertainer before she met Arcturus, at which point she joined him as tag team battlers. Cool, collected, witty, with a mischievous undertone. Grass/Dark type.

Accolon (Accy) [he/him] 33yrs - The oldest brother, he's a shiny arcanine, and also the only electric type in the family, no one knows how or why! An avid runner he's up bright and early at 6 fucking am to eat breakfast before he goes on a morning jog. Track and field in high school, general cheerful and competitive, and flaming pansexual. The only one to have a kid, aside from the parents obviously lol. Pure Electric type.

Mordred (Mori) [he/him] 13yrs - Accolon's son, half Growlithe, half Rockruff. A bundle of energy who, despite being from two types weak to water, absolutely LOVES the water and swimming and everything, good thing his dad can swim too. Fire/Rock type

Lucan (Lulu) [he/him] 31yrs - brother number 2 (fun fact, actually the first brother we made for G). He's a Hisuian growlithe taur. Exceptionally large, good foot or so taller than their dad, and very much fat, also the physically strongest of all of them, but unendingly lazy, here for a good time he likes to rest, relax, and eat. Will absolutely throw a mountain at you if fuck with his family though. Also aromantic as hell. Fire/Rock type.

Gawain (G) [they/them] 26yrs - third kid, and our fursona lmao. Works at a special library, does fire and plant magic, has a prosthetic arm. And WILL kill you if you don't return your books on time. Overall a happy canine... at this point anyways lmao. Pure Fire type, occasionally acquires Grass type too.

Morgan (Lil M) [it/its] 21yrs - the youngest of the family, and also the smallest, only standing at about 3 or so feet tall, this little arcanine inherited its mom's green colors and hypno abilities. Snarky, sarcastic, and mischievous, it's also rather possessive of it's oldest brother Accolon (it was also one of our partners fursonas for a while lol). Pure Grass type.

The second archetype I'll be talking about is what I like to call "the death archetype" this includes deities of the underworld and just deities of death. The following is a list of deities I'll be talking about: Hades, Thanatos, Charon, Anubis, Mictlantecuhtli, Chitragupta

Hades: god of the underworld but not of death itself in Hellenism. Eldest son of Cronus and Rhea. Boss of the underworld which shares his name. Husband of Persephone. Has a three headed guard dog called Cerberus. He is usually portrayed having a bident in his hand and wearing a helm. Was seen as a fearsome figure so much that people averted they're eyes while sacrificing to him and used epithets such as Pluto.

Thanatos: god of specifically peaceful death in Hellenism. Brother to Hypnos and son of Nyx. Was usually a very peaceful god but has a tendencie to lash out and enter a rage when people avoid they're death such as in the case of Sisyphus. A very minor god often being referred to but not often appearing. He is usually depicted as a young man with only a left wing while his Brother has only one right wing.

Charon: The ferryman of the underworld in Hellenism. He brings the souls of the dead to Hades across the river Acheron but only for coins. If a soul didn't have coins they would be lost in Hades for 100 years until they reach the afterlife. For that reason ancient greeks would give they're dead coins before burying them.

Anubis: Judge of the dead god of funerary rites, protector of graves, and guide to the underworld in Egyptian mythology said to take the heart of a dead person and a feather on a scale if the heart was heavier than the feather they would be condemned into eternal punishment. Son of Nepthys and Set. Often depicted as a man with the head of a Canine

Chitragupta: registar of the dead in Hinduism. Tasked with maintaining a register of the dead called the Agrasandhanī. After tge death of a human being Mictlantecuhtli would read out the deeds of the human to actual god of death, Yama so he can decide if a soul gets into either Svarga or Naraka. It was said that he was created from Brahma's soul and mind

Mictlantecuhtli: is the god of death and king of Mictlan which is the lowest and northernmost point of the underworld in Aztec religion. His worship often involved cannibalism in or around a temple of his. He was often depicted as being 6 feet tall and was depicted as a blood splattered skeleton.

I have to say the death archetype is one of my favorite archetypes. I decided to include three from Hellenism because I myself am one.
