You vs Mr.Hyde, fist fight, who wins?
And please don’t tell us you don’t do that, Mr.Jekyll. For sure underneath all that pompous fluffy peppermint smelling wrappings you’ve got some fire ready to punch.
Between us, I’ll put my money on you…Mr. Hyde comes across as too much barking and not that much biting. It’s the ones that never get angry that one should fear the most. They are like volcanoes, you never know when they’re going to explode, but when they do one better run…
Not to be rude but actually, the correct title would be Dr. Jekyll, not Mr.
I'm sorry to disappoint but in a fist fight, Hyde would be the one to win. I'm not a person who fights, and even if I were then I have to say that I am not strong enough to fight anyone and win.
Also, Mister Hyde is both someone who barks and bites, I do not recommend trying to fight him, he tends to bite people quite a lot.

October 13th 1713 saw the birth of Allan Ramsay, the Enlightenment painter.
Ramsay was born in Edinburgh. His father, also Allan Ramsay, was an important Scottish poet from whom the younger Ramsay inherited a tradition of strong nationalistic pride. Ramsay junior was instrumental in formulating a native Scottish style of painting, as his father had done for poetry.
Ramsay studied in London at St Martin’s Lane Academy and at Hans Hysing’s studio, before going to Italy. He worked from 1736 to 1738 at the French Academy in Rome under Francesco Imperiali and under Francesco Solimena in Naples. On his return he settled in London, although he continued to be active in Edinburgh. Between 1754 and 1757 he was in Italy, mostly in Rome. He was elected a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries in 1743. During his prime period he had a virtual monopoly on court painting. The envy this aroused is manifested in a remark made by Ramsay’s competitor Joshua Reynolds that Ramsay was ‘not a good painter’
Ramsay was a correspondent of Voltaire and Rousseau, and like his father was also a writer of poetry and essays.
Pics are a self portrait, a portrait of Martha Baker  and  Portrait of an African, thought to be a young  Ignatius Sancho, abolitionist, writer and composer. Ignatius was a writer, composer, shopkeeper and abolitionist, Ignatius Sancho was celebrated in the late 18th-century as a man of letters, a social reformer and an acute observer of English life.

Yamaha intends to revolutionize the automobile sector with an invention that could mean the end of electric cars – or at least the emergence of a less polluting alternative to gasoline.
So far, most brands have made a clear commitment to electric motors, which has forced cities to face a transformation to adapt to battery-powered cars with an increasingly dense electric charging infrastructure. The transition of vehicles is not new, however, the Japanese brand's V8 combustion engine can offer an alternative to combating climate change that does not involve electric vehicles.
Yamaha continues to use the V8 combustion engine, but this time powered by hydrogen. The Japanese brand presented a prototype of this engine, based on Toyota's 2UR mechanics: it has 442 HP of power at 6,800 revolutions per minute. The exhaust manifolds have the same length for the ducts, which means that the expelled water travels the same distance from each of the cylinders and at the same speed. In other words, the new V8 engine only expels water vapor through the exhaust ducts, thus respecting the environment.
This technological advance arises from the union of Yamaha with the main Japanese brands: a year ago, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha created the technological research association 'HySE' to develop hydrogen-powered engines for small mobility vehicles, such as motorcycles or drones, among others.
The companies joined forces with the aim of “achieving a decarbonized society”. Its three main lines of study are the investigation of hydrogen-powered engines, the study of refueling systems and the study of fuel supply systems. Toyota also collaborates in this project, to equip its four-wheeled vehicles with the results of this research.

Tumblr media Tumblr media

Asking Setskogen since she probably knows more than the other engines currently at the railway, How did the railway get preserved? In the sense of, who decided to preserve it, and if the job was hard.
Tumblr media
"What makes you think I have bothered remembering the names of those humans. I was also locked away in a shed during that time, so how the heck would I know? Høland and I was only brought to Bingsfoss station once the line was re-built there. In the beginning it was just rebuilt between Bingsfoss and Fossum. Later it was extended to Sørumsand. If you want names or want to know anything about the railway history, you should ask Høland. He is the encyclopedia here. I don't give a damn as long as I get to do what I was built for: work!"
Tumblr media
"Passing the question on to me, huh? Okay... It's actually a long story, which is best described in the book "Banen og bygda - Tertitten gjennom 100 år", it describes the drama with UHB being sued for "kidnapping" engines and a lot of stuff that also unfolded during the time the railway was getting preserved. So yes... the job was hard. There was a lot of resistance from those who wanted the railway dead and gone... but thankfully the railway enthusiasts that revived UHB won in the end. It was a joint effort, not ONE person who decided to preserved it. No specific people are named in the book, but among those who decided to lay down the work and preserve the line, rebuild what had been torn down were Preben T. Hysing, Alfhild Hovdan, Thorstein Diesen, Henry Danielsen, Reidar Stenbock, Halvor Andersen-Wingar, Olaf Wiegels, Carl Frederik Thorsager, Hans Petter Grøner, Gaute Narverud, Jørgen Seemann Berg, Magne Glomnes, Rolf Gillebo, Lars Liaaen, Ole Mjelva, Håvard Pedersen, Bjørn and Finn Halling, Per Ivar Michaelsen, Kjell H. Navestad, Roar Stenersen, Erik Borgersen, Per Gillebo, Eivind Robertsen, Arild Brenne, Einar Nielsen, Thor og Lars Omejer, Arne Magnus Waaler, Thor Mellin-Olsen, Fredrik Münster-Mohn, Per Tallaksen, Bjørn Næss, Stein Olav Hohle, Erik Werner Johanson and Leif Løhren. Other people who helped rebuild it was enthusiasts, youth and students from Oslo, previous UHB employees and locals. A lot of those who did this job in the 60's, preserving the railway, are still volunteers at UHB to this day, even if they are getting very old. Olaf Wiegels has also founded Lommedalsbanen (LB, where Granfos currently resides) which is a railwaymuseum for industrial engines. The work was hard as all of the rails had been removed. Setskogen and I had been locked in the shed at Skulerud as nobody wanted to buy us or had any interest in us, so we... were waiting to be scrapped. Luckily UHB was revived and reclaimed us. We were loaded on a trailer and taken to Sørumsand for repairs... What happened after that is rather chaotic, but UHB was sued for taking us out of the workshop... though they did win in court as they were the legal owners after all. I don't know the full story there, sorry. In the beginning they didn't have much money, so all labor had to be done by hand by volunteers... and the steam engines at the parallel Kongsvinger Line used to dump some of their coal by the tracks for us, but it had to be loaded into a shed by hand to be kept dry. A lot of backbreaking work so to say... Later we got the first diesel engine here to help us: Cumbersome. Which was a very efficient and hard worker... IF you could get him to start. But he sure did speed up the rebuilding of the line. In october 1964, I was fired up for the first time on the museum line after 4 years cold in a shed... In june 1965 I pulled the very first test train and the year after we started our first season with museum trains." A Suzuki bemutatja a hidrogénüzemű robogót
Tumblr media
Ugyanezt a motort, amely a vállalat H2 szuperkerékpár motorján alapul, végül a Kawasaki tervezett hidrogénhajtású sporttúramotorjában tervezik megjeleníteni, amelynek rajzai 2022-ben kerültek nyilvánosságra. October 13th 1713 saw the birth of Allan Ramsay, the Enlightenment painter.
His father was another Allan Ramsay, well known for his turban and his poetry.
He had started drawing portraits by 1729, and first trained at the Academy of St. Luke in Edinburgh before studying under Hans Hysing in London from 1732-33. Allan visited Italy from 1736-38, where he studied under Imperiali in Rome. He also drew at the French Academy there and had the distinction of being taught by Francesco Solimena in Naples. He settled in London in 1738 and soon became one of the most elegant and subtle of portrait painters. Ramsay was patronised by many of the Scottish nobility in London.
Of Ramsay's paintings that I know, my favourite is "the lost portrait of Charles Edward Stuart" a letter held in the Royal Archives tells Ramsay.........."... you are desired to come to the Palace of Holyroodhouse as soon as possible in order to take his Royal Highness’ picture. So I expect you’ll wait no further call. I am, your most humble servant, John Stuart, Holyrood House 26th of October 1745."
This never left Ramsay much time as Charlie and the Jacobite army left Edinburgh early November on their way south to Derby.
Ramsay Garden in Edinburgh, at the top of the High Street near the Castle, was built on the site of the Ramsay family home and was named after the father and son.
He died at Dover on 10th August 1784.
