It was a typical evening for you and Paige, snuggled up together on the couch, scrolling through your Instagram feed. Paige had just finished her practice, and you were both looking forward to a cozy night in. Suddenly, an idea popped into Paige's head.

"Hey, why don't we go live on Instagram?" Paige suggested with a grin. "We can say hi to the fans and maybe even get some of the team to join us."

You shrugged, not seeing any harm in it. "Sure, why not? Let's do it."

Paige quickly set up her phone and went live. Instantly, comments started flooding in, filled with hearts and messages of love and support. You and Paige greeted everyone with big smiles, feeling the love from your fans.

As you chatted with the viewers, some of Paige's teammates joined the live stream. They teased Paige about her latest TikTok video, and you couldn't help but laugh along with them. Paige playfully rolled her eyes, but you could see the fondness in her expression.

"You guys are just jealous of my dancing skills," Paige joked, causing everyone to burst into laughter.

As the live stream continued, Paige leaned closer to you, wrapping her arm around your shoulders. You leaned into her side, feeling a warm sense of contentment. The team noticed the affection between you two and started teasing you both.

"Aw, look at these lovebirds," one of Paige's teammates teased, making you both blush.

"Hey, we're just spreading the love," Paige replied, giving you a quick kiss on the cheek.

The live stream continued for a while longer, filled with laughter and good-natured banter. Paige's teammates shared funny stories about their time together, and you and Paige joined in, sharing your own anecdotes. The viewers loved hearing about your adventures, and the comments section was filled with positivity and support.

Eventually, it was time to say goodbye to the viewers. Paige thanked everyone for joining and promised to do another live stream soon. As the stream ended, Paige turned to you with a smile.

"Thanks for doing that with me," Paige said, pressing a soft kiss to your lips. "You make everything better."

You smiled back, feeling grateful for Paige and the love you shared. "Anytime, Paige. I love you."

And with that, you settled back on the couch, content in each other's company, knowing that no matter what, you had each other's backs.

I've been thinking about KHR's bonds. (When am I not?) And I've thought about the way that Amano likes to write bonds. You'd be pressed in this fandom to find people who don't care about at least one area of it whether that's the Vongola kids, Varia, the Arcobaleno, Kokuyo, etc. After a conversation with my best friend, I realized it's kinda interesting how Amano has somehow successfully created so many realistic bonds for such a diverse cast. Like we see so little of them, but you'd be pressed to convince the KHR fans that the funeral wreaths don't adore Byakuran.

So there's the thing right? Katekyo hitman reborn is the shonen that is 100% about the power of friendship. Like yes other shounens use it and its a meme for a reason, but they also have other stuff going on. Other motivations. Other theming. Meanwhile Tsuna growing up and becoming a better person for his friends /is/ the theme of Reborn. That is the entire motivation for the series. There's no grandiose scheme where Tsuna will save the Mafia world and be the chosen one, though the series tries to put Tsuna in this position to his chagrin.

As evidenced by the scene in Future arc, where Tsuna is unable to light his ring because he is so stressed about sending everyone back to the future and fighting this unknown powerful enemy. And so Reborn walks up and tells him "You're not a hero. Stop trying to be. It's not like you. What were you thinking about when you first lit your flame?" And he responded with "I just..wanted to protect Kyoko." Reborn satisfied with that answer then asks, "And who do you want to protect now?" And Tsuna answers with "Everyone." And then his ring lit up. That's the core to the series!! Right there!! All it ever was 403 chapters worth of these characters just wanting to protect each other.

So, in talking to my best friend, he pointed out that outside of daily life arc, these characters don't really have moments of vulnerability towards each other. Frankly, it seems the cast of KHR is allergic to being vulnerable. There aren't that many scenes of "you guys are important to me. I love you guys." Y'know stuff that tells the audience yeah these guys are close. And when Tsuna TRIES to have these moments, like with Reborn, Reborn pretends like he's asleep and doesn't hear Tsuna say that he's going to save him. Yet somehow, we all understand that these characters love each other so deeply.

And that made me realize it's all in the dialogue and actions, rather than inherent bonding moments. It's Reborn clenching his fist when Tsuna is getting gravely injured by Daemon. It's Yamamoto and Gokudera having a fight about Gokudera not being worthy of being Tsunas right hand man as Gokudera doesn't care for the other members of their family. And Gokudera never addressing this again, there's no verbal indication that Gokudera even heard Yamamotos criticism. Yet later during Merone invasion, Gokudera reaches a hand out to catch Yamamoto when they're getting separated. And later, he protects Ryoheis unconscious body as he is fighting Gamma to the death. It's Byakuran saving the funeral wreaths from their miserable lives and them protecting him even when he begins to strike them down. It's the way Mukuro runs to assist Chrome when she is in danger, or swears up and down that he is not allied with Tsuna but also feeds the Vongola information about Byakuran. It's the way Squalo refuses to cut his hair for his vow to Xanxus, or Mammon's gratitude towards Xanxus's willingness to fight for them. It's Ken ensuring that Chrome is always fed by giving her the snacks and candy they bought. These characters don't need bonding moments, their love for each other shines through their every breath and finger twitch.

And I think that's a fascinating way to write a connection on Amanos behalf. And it was done so well we can't even argue that these characters all love each other.

The way I summarized it is most characters love each other because they spend time together and improve together. KHR characters spend time together and get better together because they love each other

Honestly? I'm content with it. Reading weekly really makes it hard to take things in with shonen series, at least for me, and I need to go back and re-read a good chunk of chapters to remind myself what's happening. (Example being Chainsaw Man - incredible and a favorite of mine but Fujimoto's story telling sometimes just goes WAY over my head until I sit and analyze it)

I was HYPE AF seeing the Avengers Endgame style war scene. When everyone's showing up, the trick with Eri's horn, the All Might shirt, everyone cheering for Deku (don't get me started on his mom omg), and Bakugo PUSHING HIM FORWARD instead of holding him back. They're gonna have a lot to talk about after the war lol. But the trip here hasn't been an easy one for sure. I felt a lot of things as a weekly reader, especially from 362 to 403 (hell can't hold down my man). In hindsight, how things kept jumping around made sense, but week to week was hard to remember where everything was going and who was where. I adored the Toga/Uraraka fight, but disappointed it still revolved around their crushes on Deku at the beginning. I'm dying to know where Toga went after all that, too.

I think Shiggy could have been handled a little better, I really enjoyed Deku sticking to his guns about saving him, but we're still unsure if Tenko is even alive, which would defeat his purpose for the war. Idkkk. We'll see!

I will say, I wept actual tears for chapter 403. I could write a novel on the foundation of Deku and Bakugo's friendship development, and not just on Bakugo's side for obvious reasons. But that moment they made eye contact and knew exactly what to do? That's insanely powerful. And that Deku let him save All Might, thus redeeming himself in front of the whole world in his eyes cause he blamed himself for ending his career for so long. And his SMILEEEEEE I'll never shut up about it.

I think this has got to be one of my most favorite Homestuck^2 pages so far.

Wow, where to start.

First of all, I love how Calliope actually enjoyed seeing what John and Roxy got up to and wasn't that bothered by it at all. D'aww.

I don't really understand yet why this place, the Trolls' meteor, corresponds to the black hole's singularity though. Is it because of its link to Calliope and Caliborn, how they grew up there or something?

Ha, it's cool that John had the chance to catch up on some of B2's movies that came out after 2009.

Interstellar was indeed a great, movie, hehe.

Why does Calliope think falling in the black hole would have been a bad thing though? I mean, Vriska and Lord English did survive it, and all those ghosts came through as well.

In any case, Calliope's dialogue seems to imply that whatever is beneath the curtain, it's not linking to Meat? Or at least, not that she knows.

And well, John did communicate with Terezi who was outside of the black hole.

It seems like Calliope's description of the world being on the brink of total cataclysm might imply Candy is somewhat like a doomed timeline then? That's kind of like what those timelines resulted in.

And what would having Vriska do something here in the meteor change anything about it?

Maybe something to do with her Thief of Light powers?

And what are the sounds John hears here? Is it comign from beneath the curtain? Feet? Doors? Stone and digital static??? What the hell could that be?

Just how much will they tell them? Will they just not tell about this stuff in the meteor, or will they also not tell them about the plan to go get Vriska?

The Lord of the Rings Series Review

The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien is a 4 part High Fantasy story and regarded as a classic in it's genre.

I read it while listening to the Audiobook via Storytel and Scribd, which is read by Rob Inglis. Which I absolutely adore to listen to. His voice is amazing, with a wide spectrum of different and distinct voices. His voice is naturally gruff and deep and with the many male characters it really fits.

I also got half the series (the first 2 books) while I was on Holiday in Edinburgh, Scotland in March 2020. The other 2 volumes I got in my favorite 2nd hand bookstore.

In this series we follow the journey of the One Ring. Of how it was found and how it was ultimately destoryed. Along with the making of friendships, overcoming stereotypes and deep loyalty.

The Hobbit rated 4 Stars. I loved my time with this book. The story is full of action and the pacing is really well done. Before I read this I was only familiar with the 3 movies based on this book and I must say all is pretty one on one until you reach the part where they are in Mirkwood and escape from the elves. From that point on the movies are way more detailed in the events that follow. I also believe that the characters such as Thorin Oakenshield is much more establisched in the movies.

Speaking of characters, I do like them all. From Bilbo Baggins to Gandalf the Gray to Fili and Kili. Many are destinct from one another, but others often blend together and get no real tme in the spotlight; Oin, Gloin, Bifur, Bofur, Dwalin, Dori and Nori (While writing this down I had to look up those last two, just saying.) I do like the Gollum in the book a lot more than the movies, wherin I always found him creepy and gross.

There is also a lot of singing and songs in this book, more than I realized in the beginning, and I hope this trend will be continued in the next books. Also the humor in this book, especially some of the comments made, caused me to laugh which I always appreciate.

The Fellowship of the Ring rated 3 Stars. Once more I wish to praise Rob Inglis on his voice work. Even now Gimli sounds different from all the other dwarves previously met in The Hobbit. Also the trend of songs continue in this book and each have a different cadence and are original, very fitting to the story. It's something I do like.

In the beginning of the book is a mention of how this was written during WW2 and J.R.R. Tolkien didn't want his story to be influenced by the event. Which is very nice to know, but that and including the official Prologue, makes the 1st hour of the audio book almost pointless when reading. Then comes the rest of the book where there are many infodumpy moments. I don't need to know who was the great-great-great-great grandfather of Gimli of whoever. But I quess that it does show how intricate and complex the world is. Also, due to the long journey that they are on, the plot progression feels very slow. And most of it happens when they are visiting another place, like Rivendell or Lórien, when they're stationary. When we first hear of Saruman, when Gandalf is explaining, I disliked him because he spoke ill of Radagast (in the Hobbit movie he's my favorite character). And eventually it's told why he was acting that way. If I'd read the book without audio, I woul've skipped many of the descriptions and explanatory writing to get to the Dialogue, because I feel that that is where the good things lie.

The Two Towers rated 3.5 Stars.

I read this right after the Fellowship of the Ring, and it takes off right where the previous book has ended. A nice detail in this is that the pagecount continues from book to book. So this book runs from page 403 to 725. It's really interesting to see that the closer we get to the end the songs and rhymes crease to be spoken. In the beginning we still have some, like the Song about Boromir which gave me chills, while at the end there are none.

On of my favorite side characters within this story is Treebeard the Ent. Interesting species, and way of life. I hope we do get to meet the Entwives. I also love how the friendship between Legolas and Gimli evolves. To see people as different as they are putting aside said differences and work towards a common goal. The banter they have over the death count at Helm's Deep is wonderful.

*Please, someone give me fanart of Legolas and Gimli on a saddle-less Arod. That scene made me laugh.*

For the 2nd half in this book, I'm a little less impressed. It only dawned on me then that the 1 part is completely without Frodo and Sam. Then it seems that the 2nd runs at the same time as the 1st, which is really nice, but confusing. I do still think that Gollum/Smeagol is creepy and weird. I do think that he is a well crafted character, but I dislike to read anything surrounding him. He gives me the chills and not good ones. The last 2 chapters are really exciting and do make me want to read the last book within this trilogy, so, Let's Continue:

The Return of the King rated 2.5 Stars. I do have a lot less to say about this, because my enjoyment was average. It was an okay book. The resolution is nice, the good guys won! But it was not something extraordinary, something special. This book as a lot more action than the previous two, which is somethinhg it has going for it. It's very good in stating the stakes and making them high. But the resolution comes too early in my opinion. We still have a half of book 6 to go, and that is just filled with the travel home. To see everything they loved changed and they need to reclaim their homeland.

This last book just wasn't my cup of tea.

I have a head cannon that Misaki get's really scared during storms due to the death of his parents when he was a kid.

Tuesday: The Day of McDonalds and Sleep!

(Little note before I start, this was supposed to be posted yesterday, but I had internet issues :D)

Hey Peeps! It's ANZAC day today in the magical place that I live in. It's also the day of sleep and McDonalds on my terms. So, I woke up at 10am and then at 12pm I went to Maccas. My dream was really weird last night, being as I was being chased by Ray's fro. I don't know what triggered it, but I just adored his rainbow coloured floofy afro. Yes, I might be weird, but people love me for who I am. Also, today I witnessed my cat fall onto it's but after toppling off of a shelf. It was hilarious, and thank God that he's ok. If I was him, I probably would have broken a bone knowing my luck.

So this wonderful day in this crappy year was full of Wattpad... You know, I might as well sell my soul to either Gerard Way or Wattpad. Again, I know I'm weird, but I enjoy being what I am - a piece of band trash. I spend so much time on WP that I think I'm obsessed. I read so many books containing smut, xreaders, smut in general and just some really weird stuff. I first got onto Wattpad on the 24th of February this year, and I have enjoyed my experience. Well, except for when one of my chapters got mistaken for spam so I had to contact the help centre. That wasn't fun. I did get really nice service though! Anyway, let's get back to what I was saying.

I went on Wattpad this morning and looked at Chasing Red's stats. I was really shocked to see that I had 403 reads on it, and in response, I screamed. Yeah, I know that number is nothing compared to the ones with over a million reads, but for the level of Wattpad-ness (Idfk!) that I'm on, that's pretty amazing. I usually write my chapters while listening to MCR in my headphones. It gives me inspiration, ya know? Anywho, I wrote a chapter just before my Nan came and picked my Mum and I up for lunch. I wish I could have written more, but I didn't have enough time.

Maccas was really nice. I mean, yeah I know that everything they make has loads of fat and sugar in it, but it's cool to indulge every so often. I don't go out for meals very often, so this was a real treat for me. If you're wondering what I had, I ate a McChicken meal with frozen coke as a drink. It's actually a surprise that they had coke because when I normally go there, the only frozen drink they have IN STOCK is raspberry Fanta. I mean seriously, if you're gonna have only two flavours of frozen drinks, you might as well have both in supply. Sometimes it's ridiculous.
