So a lot of basic bedding is made of polyester microfiber, which doesn't really let heat or moisture escape because its plastic. You want natural fibers only, thats cotton, linen, wool, silk, and maybe rayon (bamboo) fiber. Rayon, it depends on who you ask because its cellulose fiber made from plants, but its made from a chemical goo of broken down plants so some people consider it non natural. (I personally like rayon though, its cool to the touch.)

You want a duvet instead of a comforter if you sleep with one. You can take the cover off and wash it in a regular machine, get a natural fiber cover. You can get polyester duvet inserts, but wool or down are much better. They're expensive, but they should last you literally decades, so if you get a small windfall of money, investing in a duvet made of wool or down is a good idea. Its very much a buy once, cry once situation.

Pillows, it all depends on what you need. Everyone's pillow needs are different. My husband has a giant bamboo rayon one, but i use two down and feather pillows. Im looking at replacing mine with shredded natural latex though, because the down and feathers only lasted me like 4 years. Ideally, with good pillows, 1 or 2 is plenty and you shouldn't need a whole bunch. Theres a lot of talk about bedding and pillows on reddit so research based on how you sleep if possible.

Change your pillow cases as often as you can manage. Silk or satin ones are better for your hair, cotton ones are more affordable.

Sheets, the good ones are either cotton or linen. Thread count is meaningless these days. The main two weaves available are sateen, which are a thicker smoother sheet, and percale, which are the crisp and cool sheets. You can buy components of sheets separately, you don't have to buy a whole set if you just want the fitted sheet. I recommend having at least two of your sheet setup so you dont have to get it washed and dried in the same day before you go to bed.

Mattresses are a whole other can of worms, but the main thing to keep in mind here is that foam mattresses will sleep hotter. You can get toppers made of natural fibers that will help you sleep less hot, but I dont have experience in those. I will tell you that memory foam with gel in it never made sleep less hot when I had memory foam mattresses.

Blankets come in all shapes and sizes and materials, I recently got cotton gauze ones for the summer and they're AMAZING. Weighted blankets: keep in mind that glass beads will be temperature neutral and won't hold heat in them, this is a good thing.

Bedding is expensive as fuck. What I do is every time I get a little extra money is get another piece of good bedding that lasts so that over time, i end up with a full set of good bedding.

Costco often has bedding deals on their website and is a good place to look for like mid tier sheet sets and good duvet inserts. Despite having the worst name ever, the company store sells good sheets, my sateen ones from them look new after 4 years of heavy wear while my kirkland ones had to be replaced in that time. My percale sheets from them got holes in them, but that might be from a variety of things. Oddly enough, Ikea sometimes has things like wool duvet inserts that are good and under $100. Im not sure how they are, but they also feather and down pillows and duvets that are affordable. From what I remember, ikea sheets vary wildly in cost and quality but seem like a "you get what you pay for" sort of deal. I remember getting good sheet sets at Ross and TJ max when I was young and more broke.

What are your thoughts on transformers prime and transformers one?

TL:DR I liked both! TFP was my first Transformers show that I watched all the way through and TF1 was a lot of fun! Opinions on Starscream under the break pfpfpfpfpfpf

Prime was literally my first Transformers experience (Okay that's not true, I did see the first Bay movie when it came out but lets not talk about that). It's really good! My favorite character was Ratchet, I loved that he's just a tired, grumpy, racist old man and he's a doctor. Knock Out was the best thing to come out of TFP and he really should be in more stuff. Really would have loved a fourth season but it wouldn't have been the same without the children around. I liked what we got!

Prime has an excellent Starscream, Steve Blume does an amazing performance with both his deep conniving gravel and his high pitched terrified sputtering. So much character in his animation too, especially in later seasons, and an incredibly compelling character arc. Prime Starscream is not a good person, but I would burn the world for him, and I like the small moments in the show that hint at something in his character that could be turned to good, but circumstance always works against him in that regard. He's just so pathetic, but also competent and dangerous, all the best qualities of a Starscream and a very unique design!

Transformers One was quite good, I was worried because of the trailers but I was surprised by how well executed it all was. None of the characters were annoying, and making Optimus Prime originally one of the oppressed class alongside Megatron was a good move. The scene where Orion gives Dee the sticker is so cute, I simply cannot. The ending felt a bit rushed but what can you do, it wasnt so bad that it's a problem for me.

I would have loved just a little more Starscream in the movie! Like, I knew he wasn't really gonna be in the movie much so i was prepared for it to be little more than a glorified cameo, but I loved a lot of what we did get and I feel like it was missing just a little bit more! Like, the whole High Guard turned rogue backstory he has is great, implies some honor to his character since he didnt keep serving Sentinal when the guy turned Cybertron over to the Quintissance. I think it's hilarious that Starscream is so much older than Megatron. Like, they gave us a lot of food to make headcanons out of, but then the rushed ending kind of left me with no real reason given for him and the rest of the High Guard to go with Megatron without a fight. Like, I think the reason given was that, because Megatron beat him up that one time, and then killed Sentinal, and since the High Guard became a might makes right society and hates Sentinal, I guess thats why they are loyal to him now. And I guess the one line where Starscream is like "all hail megatron" is supposed to indicate he's 100% behind Megatron now and not just a spur of the moment thing. And I guess them following his command to destroy the city is why theyre being banished. But like...idk, every other plot point was well established and properly played out, and the whole decepticons thing just didnt really feel like enough, and i kind of feel like it should have been more clearly communicated considering its an entire one side of a two sided war? I feel like we werent shown the high guard doing anything egregiously bad besides attacking people because megatron told them to.

Like, there's nothing in the movie to suggest that Starscream and the High Guard arent still loyal to the Primes. So when Orion comes back as a prime, like a proper prime, with the matrix and everything, which everyone knows will make the energon flow again, I'm surprised Starscream didnt at least try to make excuses or worm his way into avoiding banishment? My headcanon is he wanted to kill Sentinal as bad as Megatron and so when Megatron finally does what he failed to do for 50 cycles, he's like aite im ride or die for this guy. Maybe 50 cycles of living in the wilderness doing nothing but scout and pit fight all day changes a guy and they dont wanna live in a society anymore. Why dont they accept Optimus as the new prime? sorry it so truly laughable to me to look at campaign 3 and determine the success of the stories therein based on screentime like. disregarding the fact that i personally take c3 to be the least valuable in terms of stories told, particularly ones about romantic love, for the moment: on principle it’s goofy as hell to think that a large amount of hours = a story that has something to say let alone something meaningful to say. like, yasha and beau, for example, have a fairly small amount of hours due to the fact that a) ashley missed half the campaign b) they were also generally slowburn, and while that influences the depth of certain aspects of the story, the time spent with yasha and beau has little to do with how meaningful their story is. it wouldn’t matter if they had 10 hours of screen time or 100 if what is in question is the story told; yasha’s story as someone chained by grief choosing to move on & beau’s story as someone angry after a life of being treated like shit finally getting justice for the wrongs done to her which both conclude in their campaign’s finales aren’t successful because I can launch some meaningless number of how many hours it took them to take build those stories together into the ether and say “they did this for women’s rights” just because two women existed beside one another. both yasha and beau resonate as stories that have a significant feminist read because they both deal with fantasy versions of things extremely relevant to women in a way that maintains their agency without shirking their responsibility, and they are particularly strong stories about queerness not simply because they’re two women who fuck but because they deal with emotional themes relevant to queer experiences — anger and grief — and how, while the reasons for those emotions are grounded ones, they both choose to grow beyond the boundaries they allowed those emotions to enforce in their lives.

further, the notion of screentime for a show that takes care to show all of the players on screen at a time in a medium where the player/character distinction isn’t always clear is such a subjective calculation and on top of being a stupid justification for ‘success’ or ‘value’ of a story, is also easy to manipulate to your favour.

it’s just, the screentime for im*dna’s relevance and success doesn’t ring true to me just because it’s a bad reason. but further it just isn’t persuasive. i don’t care if i see someone for 1000 hours or 1, if a story resonates it will do so with any amount of time. whatever amount of screentime they’re calculated to have does nothing to repair or hide the fact that their story as a couple says very little of value in the text, without whatever fanfic extrapolation has taken place (and to be clear, this isn’t to say fanfic can’t be valuable, it’s to say that the character explorations you do in fic or in meta for that matter doesn’t mean that analysis or elaboration is canon). like. halfway through the campaign, before they got together, imogen told laudna “our weirdness is what makes us right” and laudna agreed verbally but now 1 billion hours of screentime later or whatever, laudna has still failed to integrate that belief into her, which is made obvious in a scene after the divine intervention that ties laudna’s life to imogen’s when imogen tells laudna she’s grateful she got to hear the music of laudna’s thoughts, and laudna’s response is “it was probably a bit of the insanity, honestly”, something which on paper might read like a joke but in the moment is played like a (maintained from hours upon hours previous) dismissal of what imogen is saying she values about laudna, evident in the way laura/imogen deflates when she says “well, it was pretty…”. and simply because it’s been a trillion hours of screentime that’s supposed to be representative of a relationship in which the characters help each other to grow.

(addendum to say that stories that are about stagnancy can be just as valuable as stories about growth, but textually and by the sections of fandom im critiquing here, imogen and Especially laudna are treated as a relationship that grows)

truly, if anything, counting up as many hours as possible to dictate the success of imogen and laudna’s story actually ends up working against the story. because i’d probably be more forgiving of the stagnancy if it was a shorter story, but knowing that they had so many hours and still failed to deliver a story with actions and behaviour that matched the claims the characters would make and the tropes/themes that would get applied to them, that makes it worse.

So ive been using linux for a good while now, and its now officially my daily driver. Windows is now permabenched in a removed hhd in a drawer unless something awful happens. (Good riddance, havent truly enjoyed windows since xp)

And from this I think that people urging others to move to linux are not doing so in the correct way.

Instead of trying to push a friendly distro and insisting it will work for everything and everyone, instead check if the hardware they are using specifically is good for linux and if so what families.

One computer will be a breeze with any distro, another could have a few quirks but be basically fine, however another of the same year and manufacturer could be an uphill battle thats straight up unusable even for someone who knows how to do the kernel edit workarounds for all but specific distros, if that.

My desktop took linux mint like a dream, 100% painless with no fucking about to make it work and even no need for an ethernet cable to get things started. My dinosaur laptop (may it rest in peace after other components died) had a few issues but also worked very well with little effort with mint. My current junk laptop is an uphill battle that will require arch AND edits to the kernel paremeters to work without being filled with screen flashing and full system freezes at random and im still gearing up the gumption to give it another few attempts to actually pull it off.

Each of these computers is a VERY different experience, and if your prospective switcher is using a computer that doesnt play well, its NOT going to work, they will get frustrated, and they will give up. They have to work with what they have.

Instead of going right to telling them to switch and that anything is good, Encourage people to search up their pc+linux compatibility if they are looking to switch to determine if its viable for a newbie who doesnt want to struggle, then offer a distro that has a live usb/dvd version if possible for them to test without install, and a big enough userbase that troubleshooting is as painless as possible.

If its a laptop, archwiki has lists of those by maker (linked in the page given) with notes on what has been tested in that family of linux.

This, I think, above all, is the most important thing when trying to get people to switch:

MAKE SURE THEIR HARDWARE IS GOOD FOR IT

Not just the pc, but the peripherals too; their mouse, their mic, their webcam, their keyboard- these things are not always supported well.

Linux can be fast, easy, and really comfortable and painless with little to no troubleshooting or tedious workarounds to get your stuff to work; but you have to be using the right hardware.

Yes, make sure you have alternative programs lined up that are actually good (stop reccing gimp when krita is a way better P$ alternative for people trying to draw digitally), and maybe consider talking about how to run wine in a newbie friendly way for things they might need for work reasons that dont work on linux normally(and accept that it might not work even with wine), but above all, make sure that its not just being phrased as 'a you problem' when it might be their system that is the issue there.

For prospective switchers that tried but gave up because of glitches or freezes or things otherwise not working: It wasnt you being bad at computers. Sometimes it just doesnt work with that hardware well and there is nothing you can do. People dont warn you about this, but its a very real issue.

If you still want to try linux, when you eventually get a new computer in the future, look for one that seems to be supported by linux well- some pcs even come with linux preinstalled for you even (dell does this with ubuntu and ubuntu has skins that looks windows esque). Asking specifically for linux compatible or linux preinstalled computers signals to developers to make more computers that work with linux, and makes it easier to get linux friendly stuff.

If not, there are windows 11 neutering tools out there in the wild that are very useful and are a plenty fine alternative to switching. You should only switch if you want to switch.

And actually, the goal was just to make new friends at the university, but you didn't think you'd be standing in front of the door of an apartment that's quite far away from the university. A pungent smell hits your nose and you frown. Should you really be here? Was it really a good idea to be standing in front of an old apartment at 11 pm where three women you hardly know live?

But you can no longer think about it as Nayeon opens the door for you, a grin on her lips.

She yells through the apartment,

You watch as her plump lips touch the joint, she takes a puff, and as announced, she blows it towards you, you inhale it and cough, Nayeon pats your back to help, Momo comes closer.

Only now do you realize what the situation is actually like, you on Chaeyoung's lap, on her bare legs because she's only wearing shorts, Nayeon so close to your right, Momo to your left. You feel yourself blush and everyone starts laughing at the sight of you being so confused.

"I don't know if we'll get to that today" she says, you nod slowly.

You take the joint between your fingers and bring it to your lips, slowly taking a drag, your eyes water slightly and you have to start coughing as little puffs of smoke come out. Nayeon caresses your back, Chaeyoung your thighs, her cold hands on your warm body sends a shiver down your spine.

You’ve talked a little about how Infinite changes in appearance after getting comfortable with the family and you’ve shown how Bang and Vacio look as teens/young adults (? It’s been a second since I looked lol), so I was wondering if there are any changes you’d thought of for the rest of the family. Like, Mephiles and Iblis are mortal now right? Do they age? Will they and Infinite start going grey? And how will Meta change? She’s still exploring her identity at the start of I remember right, so how will she look with over a decade to get to know herself?

Also, I think you might have talked about it a little bit before (?), but how do Infinite and Mephiles go from that initial mutual dislike to having a close relationship? When do they start talking about it? Was there a distinct moment when they started being closer to partners than just kinda cohabiting?

Oh! Also also how does Mephiles patch things up with Scourge? If I remember right, they didn’t exactly have the best start with the whole parasitizing on his chaos energy thing. He does end up like a father figure, right? He has that with Meta, but I’m not sure you’ve mentioned if he has that with Scourge

mephiles and iblis are mortal but not..really?? i guess?? they CAN be killed now but they dont necessarily age, have the same powers they had as deities, and have enhanced functions on top of it all (like fast healing and things of that nature). this is because their bodies arent technically "legitimate" mobian bodies, as they were made using synthetic mobian dna as well as the essence of their original forms, if that makes sense?? so they wont rly go gray at any point. unfortunately, infinite is genuinely mortal, and he does physically age still, so he will eventually start to gray (and honestly it probably wont be very long until then because this family has stressed him out so much even though he loves them LOL); flatline and julius are already dead so they dont rly physically age anymore; scourge, sonic, and shadow arent necessarily immortal, but their lifespans have been significantly increased due to the chaos energy theyve absorbed throughout their lives (and also shadow's whole...thing); meta is as mortal as infinite, though if im being real she will somehow find a way to prolong her own life using science or technology lol (she is genuinely afraid of her mortality and death at first, but she does come to terms with valuing her life after she processes that it is finite and precious. however im not sure she'd end up wanting it to end after all once she realizes that a good amount of her family will outlive her, yknow?), and on top of that i do think she would explore her outward appearance more over time; bang and vacío are in the same boat as mephiles and iblis because one is made up of pure chaos and the other is literally mephiles' son lol; black doom is also the same as mephiles and iblis; sunny is like meta except she 100% is ok with her life eventually coming to a natural end; zonic is in the same boat as infinite because he doesnt have experience with chaos energy like sonic or the others

mephiles and infinite didnt start really getting close (or even tolerating each other) until after mephiles got his mobian body! at first mephiles was very clearly and obviously showing bias towards meta and seemed to only rly be attached to her, but after becoming an unspoken member of the family, he did slowly start to form bonds with infinite and scourge as well, which was encouraged by how much he knew meta valued them. it wasnt until infinite really noticed mephiles' fondness for the rest of them that he sort of opened up his heart to him, though actual feelings didnt come up until someone mistook him and mephiles for a couple at a market lmfao. on mephiles' end, his feelings towards infinite didnt develop until he noticed infinite being kinder to him and treating him like he treated meta and scourge as members of his family, with the real tipping point being infinite setting up a small, simple shrine for solaris on one of the windows as a gesture of respect. mephiles then proceeded to ask meta and scourge questions regarding the feelings he was having as he had never experienced them in his previous form (scourge literally did not want to deal with that so he just told him to look shit up on the computer lol), and he was actually the one who ended up initiating the talk. they came to the conclusion that it wouldnt hurt to try things out (infinite makes the comment that it feels strange for him to try and navigate something like this at his age, to which mephiles responds that he's centuries old himself, so he supposed they would both be navigating it together) and they attempted to keep it on the dl but meta and scourge clocked that shit so fast LMAO

you remembered right! scourge and mephiles def had a strained relationship at first because of how mephiles used scourge's chaos energy as a means of tethering himself to the timeline. honestly scourge had a hard time coming to terms with mephiles being part of the family for a while after he got his own body, even after seeing how much meta seemed to love him. that only improved after mephiles caught him one night after he had a particularly bad nightmare (mephiles doesnt sleep A Lot so hes usually up anyway). he offered to let scourge vent about it to him to ease his nerves because he had learned that behavior from meta, and though scourge was hesitant and reluctant to open up like that at first, he did end up doing it, and after that he felt like he could trust mephiles better, which led to him eventually becoming fully comfortable with his presence :]

i want to write this shit out in a fic so baddddd bc i only have one (1) chapter fully written out and posted, but its so very hard for me to do anything past that lol (especially bc im nervous about the second chapter due to how. heavy. it is). but maybe one day i'll get around to it after all, we'll see

just in response to that anon who wrote about the different spaces to enjoy jikook's bond - I for one joined tumblr exactly because of this. That this space offers you a chance to have a legitimate mature discussion. Sure, we all have disagreements and it would be impossible to agree 100% of the time, but it somehow feels not as unhinged as other social media. I do use IG and there are a few content creators that put together cute and honest compilation of Jikook but it still is no space to talk. I wouldnt go near Twitter even if my life depended on it, and it also shows why it is a such a place the most delusional things happen - its limited and only allows shortest message with no space for interpretation, easy to manipulate. And Im sorry but it is exactly why trashkooks have such a loud following there. Somehow it appears that most of them are so very young (which is not a fault per se) so they take things as they are shown without the need to think and discuss, and gods forbid you may have actually sth different to say that doesnt align with the rest (it really does feel like a cult...). YT again too much manipulation for me, although it is the space that I first followed. I have to admit Im no spring chicken and never in my life I actively discussed anything in any fandom but Jikooks bond is truly sth exceptional and rarely seen. I have my share of tragic life experiences and Im no longer hopefull to ever experience love like theirs but just seeing them from afar and being a quiet witness and supporter of them makes me feel a little lighter. And it feels good to be among others who feel the way I feel.

Relistening to the suckening and its always crazy to be reintroduced to Shilo as a character and try and discern whats manipulation and whats just Shilo ACTUALLY using his powers unknowingly.

This is very specific to the beginning. Shilo, as a prince, is used to being given what he wants and treated with respect, respect that forms from the fear his mother has garnered with her status. He knows to use this to his advantage with vampire kind, especially with deacon. But its still so foggy on where the seperation between Shilo's actions and bizly choices are divided, since a player does what they can to get an advantage to roll as high as they can.

This isnt to say Shilo ISNT manipulative, that sopping cat of a vampire has a silver tongue and hes well aware of it, there are just some moments where I think he might actually have used his disciplines unknowingly.

Im saying this, because Shilo is an actual baby when compared to the vampires around him (excluding Emizel) Hes been a vampire his whole life but thats only under 20 years, compared to Arthurs 100+? the prince is an infant. lil baby. Control has to take a ton of disipline, especially when what you're trying to control is rooted into your being; Shilo hasnt had any field experience or teachings we know of besides his uncle and mother- who are both seasoned vampires with decades of training. Im not completely convinced that there's not a disconnect in their teachings and a young vampire's inexperience that leaves an empty space or two in Shilo's knowledge and awareness.

His mother is of course strict as all hell as the queen, hes been raised meticulously and guarded all his life as the prince to ensure he's well-mannered and disciplined with his skills, but there has to be some overlap between being naturally spoiled and also manipulative that leaves Shilo in an interesting, and strategic advantage whether hes fully aware of it or a bit blind.

He expects to be given what he wants, especially early in his time in L.A, its all hes known and being denied isnt really an option for people. This is specific to Deacon, who Shilo basically intimidated into being his tour guide by threatening to tell his mommy he was being bullied. (joking but you get the point) THESE interactions were manipulation, thats obvious, Shilo sweet talks his way into peoples good graces like crazy, but humans? the humans feel different. When he requests (dominates) humans to do things he's almost always suprised/flustered by how devoted they are and receptive to requests, and it makes me wonder if Shilo actually knows how powerful his discipline is and when its activated. The vampires hes used to and regularly interacted with, besides the guards, are powerful, and when his skill is compared to theirs hes barely on the same playing field. But in L.A his influence is well above average and in the first few episodes he almost seems to struggle adjusting to someone being so receptive.

THIS IS ALL WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT VAMPIRES ARE MANIPULATIVE AS ALL HELL! climbing the power ladder takes sweet talking and saying what people want to hear, and vampires are specifically stated to be well adept in manipulation as a whole with their culture and grouping. When Arthur meets his sire she- from the very beginning- is bending her image and words to leech and gain Arthurs empathy, one of the only reasons it doesnt work is cause arthur is well aware of how adept older vampires are at making themself more human to get what they want.

THIS is what makes Shilo so complex and hard for me to get a read on- he's raised to act and think decades over his age and taught how to sway a room and attention to befit what he wants- but hes also absolutely a spoiled little guy with no concept of people viewed lower then him denying what he askes them as his only experience with those lower is with his old guards. This is all stated with the understanding that my opinion is easily swayed when given new information- and humans naturally try to think the best of people and I think THATS why Shilo is so good at acting, and or actually being innocent in social situations. As a character he both naturally and intentionally, in various situations, pulls at a persons heartstrings, he looks so pathetic and is just a weird little guy who needs his blood in a sippy cup. AAAAAAAAAA The storytelling of Frieren is so novel and well done, like Im literally sobbing everytime I think about it. I LOVE LOVE LOOOVE the way they ACTUALLY incorporated the difference within the perception of time for long-lived species (which is smth I've been complaining about for EONS when there's like "immortal demon child" characters), albeit it's less "incorporated" and more the whole goddamn focus. IDGAF. It's SO REFRESHINNGGGG!! INCOMING SPOILERS OF EP25 AND EP26 (manga ch 52-55)!!! Like when Frieren explains how Zoltraak is still relatively new to her (considering that 100 years is like nothing to her)and so using the defence spell for it still needs a little thinking time; whereas for Fern, it's natural and almost even instinctual, because Zoltraak was developed, studied, defended against and mastered by humanity all before Fern's time. It makes me think of how smartphones today are so intuitive and "natural" for the youth to grasp -- because we learned about them and "grew up" with it all our lives, as opposed to our elders, where it was developed when they were much later in life and already had so many experiences (especially formative ones) without it; so learning this LITERAL "NEW FANGLED TECHNOLOGY" is so UNINTUITIVE and DIFFERENT for them....idk I feel smth... Also from the storytelling and worldbuilding, I KNEW it was a woman author like damn if Beastars and Dunmeshi (and many other foremothers like Sailor moon, Nana and like all of CLAMP, but like, you get the point lmao) taught us anything, it was that female authors basically ALWAYS have peak lore, world and character building/design. Like, it's SO COOL that you can literally SEE the passage of time, like through Frieren's flashbacks with Flamme, the clothing and buildings all show a different time period compared to that when she was travelling with Himmel, I havent particularly noticed anything particularly different between Himmel and Fern's time, but that's 80 years compared to the LIFETIMES that was between Frierens adventures with Himmel and Flamme. Another cool point is seeing that Serie STILL wears the same style clothes she did when she was teaching Flamme during the Mage exams. Like not 2 b cringe but "It really shows that Serie is a mage from the past. She is stuck in the past and unwilling to change with the times, unlike Frieren." BC LIKE, FRIEREN CHANGED HER CLOTHES STYLES WITH THE TIMES U KNO??? AND SHE'S CONSTANTLY BEING CHALLENGED WITH HER HABITS AND BELIEFS, SO SHE'S FORCED TO BE A "Mage of the future", LIKE HOW FLAMME PREDICTED. Still rewriting communications, I have an idea for a bit of an Evelynn redesign. Also, not design wise, but I really want them to be isolated like Kennith and made fun of. I want a freaky little loser to go with the other freaky little loser. Cuz there is no way anyone liked Evelynn I need to be so serious rn. Not even in an insulting way but in the little I've found about them, they cannot have that many friends or anyone at all.

Also, every communications case 2 character is autistic. They all come off this way to me, so I decided that's what they will be. They are the only communications characters that are really written that way to me, but that might just be cuz it's the only case I know lots about. Even with Bri, she dies too quickly to ever like show any traits outside of just being mentioned to be autistic. I think it's cuz of ghost being ableist but this isn't about them

Im also separating every case. They are not connected outside of like. Communication issues. And aren't really connected in canon either, there is no reason to keep them connected. They are so much better as their own stories

oh goodness gracious i'm AAAAAAAAAA i'm gonna giga ramble to you about the fic and awowaugheaorugdfgf one of the reasons I took that fic where it went from your comic because while I was playing, I always wished kerfur could "do more" sit on the couch with you, unlock doors, look at the TV, etc, little things like that to give you a little glimpse into who they might really be one of the things I do think is that kerfur is very, very enthusiastic about the things they do (they go into a full fucking sprint when you give them the report paper), and the same thing would apply to... an advance of some kind... one of the biggest, defining emotions in the game for me was the flip flop between "comfort" and "terror" in one moment, i'm listening to the morning music, kerfur just grabbed the reports, the drives are shipped away and everything is maintained/100% calibrated, nothing is happening, i almost WANT something to happen and the next, i get a jolt of abject terror down my spine because i THOUGHT i saw a shadow man outside and a lot of that comfort came from kerfur, the companionship, the something to lean on for me, the game was a paranoia nightmare until I settled in with that damn adorable robot, and outright fell in love (I was still anxious, but I was mentally prepped when TR3 goes out and you need to reset it on foot, no ATV, trekking in the snow with Kerfur behind me) it's not even like kerfur's design isn't inherently attractive? but you can develop that kind of love because of the way they can make you feel, what they are, what they do, what they become to you and I projected ALL of that onto Kel LMAO

i have this whole living room/bedroom/saferoom (the door has a lock!) set up with two sleeping bags and a hotplate behind the couch and kerfur can't even sit on it >:( just, like my experience with the game, what I felt playing it, what I saw surrounding it the stuff you make hits me in the perfect spot, I wish Guard Mode was a real thing so damn bad kerfur refusing to be used as a tool, a learning, living, thinking thing, every bit as capable of the unfeeling horror those scientists feared capable of feeling hatred, wrath, apathetic disregard, violent tendencies, being influenced but also capable of every good thing in this world, the same as a person, of being nurtured and nuturing, of growing and learning core beliefs, feeling love, feeling warmth, a sense of humor they were scared of a person, and all of the volatility and unknown futures that come with being one, especially from a blank slate. kel and kerfur are the union of flesh and machine, not as a perverse monstrosity, what's seen in kerfu and skerfuro, in the Gray's technology, but bound in love and life. your art is all little snippets and angles of the exact feelings I had turned into pictures and it's <<<33333 which is probably why my fic ended up being the way it was

anyway i feel you, esp with wishing kerf could do more and such. I've always been a sucker for sentient robots who probably shouldn't be sentient, and the idea of robots gaining sentience and growing very attached to their one special human that their whole world revolves around. is that healthy?? no! is it compelling? very!!! lots of potential for complex and messy feelings on both ends. imagining kerfur growing into sentience very quickly bc kel treats them with dignity and shows them care is so fun, i like thinking about how they could potentially start doing more, leaning more. they start wanting things for themself. they want him. they don't know how to express that, at first

see, *i* think kerfur's design is inherently attractive xjdbjfs. funny story, i actually got lowkey tricked into getting invested in this game bc my partner essentially dangled cute robot on a stick in front of me. and it worked, because im predictable lmao. i defs projected that onto kel too, though. he'd think they're cute, even in their base form, but it's not something he let himself think too deeply about at first. he doesn't want to be weird about it. time and loneliness and companionship wears him down, though. he grows to care deeply far faster than he really should

or at least, that's one version. i like to play around with different versions of how that could go in my mind

i like your upstairs saferoom! i have something similar in mine, i made a comfy hangout spot for them in my second playthrough :3

im glad the stuff i make hits you just right, I'm v flattered ;w; im just always weak for human/robot stuff and never get tired of that trope and all the fun stuff that comes with it

i like other aspects of the game too obvs, but im very attached to kerfur 💜
