Going to see Alien: Romulus tonight and it just occured to me how funny it is that considering how much of a nerd I usually am about worldbuilding, somehow I manage to be both completely insanse about the xenomorphs and have avoided getting steeped in the alienverse lore.

I interact with the alien franchise like a guy who buys a videogame only because it has a big-tiddy girl on the cover. I'm here ONLY for the hot bitches (the xenomorphs). How do the timelines of the alien movies work? no idea. Can I name more than one human character in the entire series? No. Whatever is going on with the corporation and the colonisation plots, I have no idea.

I see a xenomorph on screen and all the blood usually used for memorizing things like: plot, setting, or characters falls instantly downwards from my brain.

not going to lie, people have watered down dazai's character. and chuuyas too.. like no he isn't some "soft uwu emo boy with bandages that's head over heels for chuuya." he's a suicidal maniac, he's a MENTALLY ill person. he's so fucked up in the brain, yes, he has his nice parts but i will surely tell you he wont hesitate to betray anyone in his life.. this man is insanse. not how yall make him to be. this is also the reason why i think dazai could be suitable romantic relationship with anyone.. (be it chuuya or just anyone in general.)

Anyways, atleast in my posts I have never watered down Dazai. If anything, I only talk in depth about soukoku's relationship in just the canon content that we have. (the light novels, the manga and sometimes even the anime).

Not gonna give myself a golden medal obviosuly but i have always took off my shipping googles when talking about their feelings and characters in general.

Dazai cares for Chuuya, and likewise as it's implied various times in canon, but that doesn't make Dazai any less of a complex character, same with Chuuya.

I agree that Dazai isn't a sane character, (i mean, look at the book he's based on for instance.)

I also hate when fanfics water down Chuuya as a desperate little thing needy for love and Dazai as a plain old emo boy so I get where you are coming from.

But shipping them is for fun!! And im more than sure (and hope) that many soukoku shippers are aware of the truth of their characters and dynamic.

They aren't healthy, I mean, what relationship born from the port mafia can be expected to be healthy considering the enviorment lol.

But although there is toxicity, there's also balance, familiarty and partnership.
