Thoughts about Xavier and Wednesday. I just can't stop thinking of these two.

This is a post about shipping Xavier and Wednesday. Every word and opinion is my own, so if you don't like the ship of Xavier and Wednesday or whatever, just kindly scroll away.

It was 4 in the morning when I wrote this blog after I had rested for a long time, and didn't post anything on this account.

I didn't sleep all night because, at the moment writing this blog, I had just finished watching Wednesday the Netflix series. To be honest, this show is so good and everything is so perfect.

I wanna talk about the relationship between Wednesday and Xavier.

Yeah, I know, Wednesday is supposed to be 'alone' and shouldn't be interested in any romantic relationship (if you know what I'm talking about.)

Me too, I think it's a bit weird for Wednesday to have a romantic relationship with someone because just as Goody told her, "The path of a Raven is a solitary one." She definitely will meet new friends, companions and buddies during her journey, but at the end of her journey, Wednesday will be the only one who arrived at her own terminal bus station, or perhaps, a train station sounds more suitable for her.

I don't even know the reason why I ship Xavier and Wednesday, maybe it's because of the eyes of Jenna who portrays Wednesday and the way how Percy Hynes Whiten aka Xavier look at Wednesday.

I found sorrow, or misery in Xavier's eyes, maybe because he knew Wednesday will never really care about him, but he still manage to fall for her again and again, even though he got rejected so many times. Xavier is like a top tying on Wednesday's neck, whenever she got too far, Xavier will be the one to pull her back to the shore. Of course, Wednesday will do the same for Xavier.

I never expect a romance story between Xavier and Wednesday, even a bit of a platonic story, I never really imagine it. In my mind, Xavier will be Wednesday's private painter, he will be the one painting a portrait of how Wednesday looks in his eyes, and this portrait will be used at Wednesday's funeral.

Let me tell you how I imagine their story in adulthood in my own way:

Xavier and Wednesday still remain in contact even though they graduated from Evermore, but not the kind of normal contact we thought. Xavier will draw Wednesday a portrait of her every birthday so that she can put it on her own funeral.

Xavier will keep falling for Wednesday again and again, and Wednesday will keep turning him down again and again. This becomes a thing between them.

You know, Wednesday will never be Morticia. I mean I never imagine Wednesday's love life story the way how I adore the relationship between Morticia and Gomez. I think the relationship thing in Addams' Family is a very unique topic.

So, when Xavier and Wednesday pop up, they click me.

I don't know how to explain, like.......

They love like a couple of old friends and they kill like a couple of old friends.

I think the music 'Solas by Jame Duffy' pretty much sums up my opinions about shipping Xavier and Wednesday. If you go to listen to this song, maybe you will know my feeling. The vibe from this song is so Xavier and Wednesday.

i have to be so honest i don’t understand the xavier hate. i get why people don’t really like the love triangle, but i just cant help but appreciate it?

i personally wanted an aroace wednesday and i still feel like i got it. not all aspec people are completely anti-romance and sex repulsed; many, such as myself, do experience romantic/sexual attraction. it’s a spectrum for a reason.

can’t wenclair also be seen as part of a love triangle? i like the idea of wednesday and enid, and i like the idea of wednesday and xavier, (i won’t get into the whole tyler thing rn, but i don’t see them together at all, sorry) but why can’t it be one of those AND an aspec wednesday? truthfully there is nothing better to me than an aroace person in a love triangle.

i cant say fs which i would prefer she end up with but i would not really have a complaint either way! whether she’s with enid or xavier or no one, i will feel satisfied!! both characters are good matches for her, (and even so, a show with teenage characters that aren’t obsessed with dating would be so refreshing!! and if you found xavier kinda bland: remember the show is from wednesday’s pov: in her eyes, xavier is pretty boring, and enid is WAY too much. i think we probably missed out on a lot of their traits bc of wednesday’s black-and-white filter. based on the finale, season 2 probably won’t have this filter as much, as we can see wednesday’s views and ideas of her friends changing, we’ll hopefully get to see more of them under the surface. then it also might be easier for me to decide who i ship her with lmao)

(LONG POST!-WEDNESDAY THEORIES!)okay I REWATCHED Wednesday and YES TYLER WAS GROOMED AND ABUSED AND LITERALLY TURNED INTO A MONSTER BY this psycho woman and he needs help(and he actually sends many signals to his dad during the season, but his father never hears them). And YUP, he thought Wednesday was sending him signals, but in a way W subconsciously kind of was. Oh, and I’m happy to report that i still ship Wednesday both with Enid and Tyler(still), AND YES THERE WERE SO MANY SIGNALS ABT TYLER BEING THE HYDE(like the anger and hurt we see on his face while he talks to his father, or when he waits for Wednesday and stares at the picture where His Mom is too, not only Morticia, or when we see him scream in the bath-just to name a few/same for Ms.Thornhill/LaurelGates MANY signals if you know what to look for).

But THIS POST is going to be about Tyler and his feelings for Wednesday, because I thought about it a lot, and paid so much attention while rewatching.

Let’s begin from the very end. Season 1 ends with two cars passing each other, Wednesday in one, and Tyler in the second, and it’s such a clear foreshadowing by the writers of the series that these two will be very closely involved one way or another in the future seasons for sure. Then the beginning of the final episode. When Tyler is still lying about being Hyde and letting Xavier be blamed for it all. He says, “I’m not a monster and even if you really thought I was-Why would you risk bringing me out to the woods to confront me alone?” (he’s so WEDNESDAY IF YOU THINK YOU KNOW WHAT I AM WHY THE HELL ARE YOU HERE ALONE WITH ME RIGHT NOW? like PLS. there’s a part of him that CARES A LOT.) “Fine my mom was a monster but..” and “You stole her medical records?” and “Wednesday, please” and he’s begging Bianca to not leave him alone with W. She’s literally torturing him to get the truth out and he just won’t say it. And I don’t think it’s because he can’t do so. If his “master” would forbid it, he wouldn’t tell Wednesday later at the sheriff’s station. He’s hurt and emotional and just, in general, being his usual teenager Tyler, who’s being tortured but won’t stop it (he has a way to stop it) because he wants to spend more time with Wednesday?? as messed up as it is, there’s no other explanation. He wants to be the normie Tyler for a little bit longer, and not a full Hyde 100% yet. There’s this scared kid in him and yeah, he’s still there. We see his full confession in this vid, in this post. But before that there’s “We-Wednesday, wait-” and he runs after the girl who has just tortured him! And he tells his father that he needs to talk to her because she was his friend. And I don’t think he’s lying there. He could have confessed all and be like Ms.T/LaurelG, be like “Okay fine ENOUGH OF THE HIDING what the hell I’m this and I did that because..” and Tyler didn’t confess. He lied. Holding on so much to this old version of Tyler, and even now confessing, there are tears and the look on his face, as if he’s heartbroken because he knows this is it. The end. The moment when he loses Wednesday as a friend, the moment he loses himself as just a normie Tyler completely when all he’s about is to listen to “his master” because he HAS TO listen. But about that one, in the final episode as well. She told him to wait by the boat(?-what was that about was she planning to escape with him after bringing Crackstone back to life or?) BUT TYLER WASN’T BY THE BOAT. He was in the woods. Alone. Not in the Hyde form. And he said to Wednesday, “Laurel said you’re dead” and he obviously didn’t believe it since he was in the woods literally WAITING FOR WEDNESDAY, and he goes to her telling her she’s like a cockroach, and there’s this moment when he’s just kinda staring intensely BEFORE turning into Hyde and actually (for the first time FOR REAL I believe) trying to HURT Wednesday, and then Enid comes and he fights with her BUT that was the moment when he had no other choice but to fight Wednesday and he still slowed it down. If this doesn’t mean he actually likes her alive I don’t know what that means truly.

Now, Let’s go back to the very beginning ep1, when they meet. He doesn’t know WHO SHE IS yet, we see his sarcasm in the way he talks with her, and his interest too, while she fixes the machine. And then he decides to help her leave town FOR FREE. So like, ep1 we have like.. his 3rd victim I believe. We see his face break for a moment when he tells her that he WISHES HE COULD LEAVE TOO, and that AT LEAST ONE OF THEM WILL GET OUT OF THIS TOWN. and then he steals her father’s files from his father. I doubt LG would tell him to do this since she only wanted to mess up Wednesday and Sheriff’s investigation later when they had some actual proof. And then at the festival(?) W runs after Rowan, and Tyler as Hyde comes and attacks Rowan BUT NOT WEDNESDAY. and it’s the first sign he likes her (funny how Wednesday herself called it out-Monster liking her and not attacking her-only to Xavier bc she thought he’s the monster). Because at this point-so early on-I doubt Ms.T would tell him who Wednesday is and what she needs from her in the finale to resurrect Crackstone AND the whole “made you feel special” miss T mentioned to Wednesday was for sure abt her own doing and this kind and helping teacher and not Tyler’s. Yes, he was probably supposed to watch what W does and when, but I doubt he was supposed to get as romantically involved as he had. (but more about it later)

Ep.3. Outreach day. Tyler proposed he would go with Wednesday and she said no. And then THE HYDE SHOWS UP to the very place where W went. And i’m sorry-but Ms.T/LG would NEVER send a monster to hurt Wednesday if she needed her at the end to succeed with her agenda. This means Tyler as the teenage boy-whom he still was and is-was just angry Wednesday wouldn’t take him along, so he went along as the monster??

And one more thing-I’m not sure if it was episode 3, 4 or even 2, but he was so smiling and happy when he told W “You’re really becoming obsessed with this monster in the woods kind of thing” and he WAS SO HAPPY because-again-as messed up as it was-he was the monster and she was obsessed so as a teenage boy who’s clearly interested in this girl he’s happy because she’s IN A WAY interested in him. It’s such a small detail but I find it hilarious and it actually proves so deeply how Tyler, even as The Hyde listening to the “master” was just a normal teenage boy as well.

ep.4. The dance. Yes, Thing kinda invited Tyler who was angry TRULY that W was going with Xavier. Yes Wednesday had more important stuff on her mind-searching THE CAVE. Yes, Eugene came and said it. And yes, Tyler probably had let Ms.T/LG know. BUT HE WAS AT THE DANCE with Wednesday, dancing with her, looking at her the way he was, and he told her THE TRUTH about what he did to Xavier and “why”. And what i TRULY LOVE about this small talk was that he admitted he was checking her, and he learned what she has done to get expelled from her last school and when she said she would have done more, he said he KNEW THERE WAS A REASON HE LIKED HER. And at this moment there’s a connection between them, just two very messed-up kids who sometimes enjoy doing bad things. I think this scene was very essential to their entire relationship. Because at this moment W knew Tyler isn’t just a “sweet and kind normy” and Tyler knew for sure that Wednesday is a strong adversary.

And THEN the HYDE attacks Eugene after Ms.T/LG burns the cave. AND THE HYDE DOESN’T KILL EUGENE. why? Because Wednesday is close by? It hasn’t stopped him before. So why then? Maybe because he KNOWS Eugene is important to Wednesday?

ep.6. Tyler “delivered” the cake, knew what Wednesday liked and he MADE it himself. He went investigating with her and Enid to the Gates House. And YES he did this entire misdirect “I’m not the Hyde, look, he has hurt me” but he didn’t hurt Wednesday. Enid. Or Xavier. He didn’t hurt anybody then. Maybe because nobody ordered him to. Maybe because he didn’t want to.

And finally ep7. Which I believe is the most crucial in Wednesday-Tyler’s relationship. The ep begins with the Mayor’s funeral (who Ms.T/LG killed completely THIS TIME) and I don’t think Tyler pretends to be upset. The Mayor is one of his father’s friends. So he knew the man his whole life. This loss hurts. He’s upset and he glances toward Wednesday, even more upset he can’t talk to her, since his father is watching and he doesn’t want them to talk after Tyler “got hurt because of her recently”. AND THEN WE HAVE Ms.Thornhill/LaurelGates doing. She wants the diary from W’s room. So she needs W out (and stabs THING IN THE BACK), but I’m certain all she told Tyler was like “distract her so I could blah blah blah” and not “Throw this whole movie night and after you two can kiss” because NO. That’s unrealistic. and Tyler WENT ALL THE WAY TRULY.. (would he really REALLY try this hard just to gain something from Wednesday?? We’re talking about a teenage boy here. He LIKED HER TRULY.) preparing this wonderful date/picnic in the crypt with all these lights(so many lights there) and THE MOVIE, Legally Blonde, which he KNEW would be torture to Wednesday, and he knew she will like it. Because he has taken so much damn time to GET TO KNOW WEDNESDAY. and honestly, between working as a barista? and listening to his “master” and killing as The Hyde? AND all the arguing with his father? Plus, we didn’t see it, but Tyler had to go to some normy school, correct? So I just REFUSE to believe he went after Wednesday just to make her distracted, due to order. No. Too much hard work. Too much wasted time. And it’s a teenage boy. Just NO. There was a genuine interest. And some real feeling involved.

What has he gained by not telling his Father about Wednesday’s Uncle Fester being in town and hiding? Nothing but her TRUST. And yes, Wednesday shared SO MUCH with Tyler only because he was so patient and kind and because he gained her TRUST. And her trusting Him means NOTHING to Ms.T/LG final plan. She didn’t need Wednesday liking Tyler or trusting him or whatever. She needed Wednesday in some places, and that’s all. And the whole “patient emergency” Dr.K told Wednesday about? I think it was Tyler, because then she opens the bathroom door(?) I believe, and THERE’S THE HYDE. Because, yup, Dr. was figuring it out. And also Tyler and Wednesday almost kissed before and it’s a LOT for a teenage boy. I can’t even fathom how does it feel to a boy who has two personalities inside and who knows somebody else is completely controlling him and he can do nothing but listen. Plus, he’s SURPRISED when Wednesday comes to him, and when she says, in her words, I guess, that she wants to be more than friends. And she kisses him first. He never forced himself on her. And even before when Sheriff interrupted them in the crypt, they were BOTH going for a kiss. And definitely, Ms.T/LG wasn’t “making Wednesday feel special” by ordering the teenage boy she controls to kiss W. Because that would be another level of psycho.

So yeah, I believe Tyler sees Wednesday as a lethal adversary, and he has a lot of respect for her because of that. As both Tyler and the Hyde. Then as Tyler, he likes her truly and he sees many similarities between them and this part of him truly thought of Wednesday as a FRIEND, and as a teenage boy, OF COURSE, he simply wanted more than friends, which is normal. But as he goes deeper and deeper into Hyde and all the anger and hatred and crazy.. he’s also upset because he realizes he just can’t be like other normal teenagers. As Hyde, he sees Wednesday as the problem. An intriguing one, but still, a problem. I’m really curious about where his storyline goes in the future seasons when Ms.Thornhill/LaurenGates is no longer “master” and he’s just Tyler/Hyde traumatized, angry, hurt, and abused teenage boy. I would love to see him reaching out FOR HELP to Wednesday or W reaching out to him, to help, and both ot them acknowledging how they are in so many, many ways similarly fucked-up.

CONGRATS IF YOU READ IT ALL. I wrote it mostly for myself to sort my thoughts about this, but yeah CONGRATS.

And absolutely NO HATE toward Tyler Galpin, he’s just a traumatized teenage boy who was groomed and abused by a super psycho woman, and just right under his father’s nose. And Wednesday’s-who was supposed to be his friend-kinda too.

+UPDATE: what reason Tyler had to talk to Bianca to ask her to take a gift from Enid back to Wednesday and what reason he had to obviously get upset when Bianca asked, “Aren’t you her boyfriend” and he said, “Definitely not”(ep6). Was this a part of MissT/LG plan to “make Wednesday feel special”? while Wednesday wasn’t even there?

I don't even ship Wednesday and Tyler like that, and of course y'all can focus on shipping Wednesday with whomever, but saying that she gave Tyler no signals at all before that scene in episode 4 and that it's completely out of left field...isn't all that true.

I know we're shown things mostly from Wednesday's point of view and she frequently expresses her desire for solitude and not companionship, but let's also remember that 1) she's very obviously unreliable when it comes to her own feelings, so that should be taken with a grain of salt particularly because she disproves it later and 2) she says this to Enid multiple times as well (which I've seen a lot of wenclair shippers conveniently ignore or excuse), despite doing things that suggest the opposite. It's a pattern for Wednesday.

And yeah, "signals" don't inherently mean anything because they depend on context, but nobody communicates objectively. Tyler, like everyone else, draws his conclusions from his point of view. After watching the season once alone and then again with my little sister I'd say that there are at least THREE distinct moments up till then where it would've been reasonable for Tyler to assume Wednesday's interest in him specifically.

The first and second are actually in the first episode, regarding the video call and then the festival. From Tyler's point of view, Wednesday is a girl he just met who does not own a phone and so relies on him to get her to the train station because he has knowledge about the town and also a ride out of it. At this point he's just some random guy. So when Wednesday ends up leaving in the middle of his shift, it would've made sense to assume she'd get help elsewhere and that he wouldn't run into her again any time soon. But then Wednesday sends Thing all the way to his house with her name and a phone number written on his palm just so she could speak to him. That's a lot of effort from someone he just met, even if she would say she's only using him to her own ends. That eventually leads to him giving her the sheriff's file on Gomez, upon which she acknowledges that she "isn't used to people engaging with her" and that he's doing something others don't do with her. She explicitly singles him out and regards him in a way that's different from others. I'm sure both of these things would seem significant to Tyler.

The third is on Outreach Day at the coffee shop where Wednesday asks Tyler about the original Pilgrim meeting house. This might seem insignificant because it looks like Wednesday's just using him for information here, but realistically, going to the Weathervane was completely unnecessary. Sure, the woman leading her group didn't know where it was, but Wednesday was out in the middle of Jericho during an event where townies were out and about everywhere. She could have asked anyone else - possibly even other Nevermore students since they've been there longer than her - and likely would've gotten the same information. She could've even asked Xavier when she got to the shop! It's unlikely that Tyler, a teenage Jericho native, would have special information that other townies wouldn't, but still she sought him out specifically and even said as much when Xavier asked. From Tyler's point of view, why wouldn't that signify interest?

This last one is more subtle so I'd call it an honorable mention but it's actually right before Tyler accuses her of giving mixed signals, just after Wednesday talks with the sheriff at the station. When she sees Tyler, she immediately cautions him to avoid his father. She might just be frustrated with the sheriff, but that doesn't really have anything to do with Tyler directly. However, she does know that the Galpins don't have the greatest relationship (particularly since Tyler was seen arguing with him in public at the festival, he has no problem stealing the file on Gomez, obviously distrusts his father enough to stalk him in the woods, and also sees Kinbott on a regular basis), so letting him know that the sheriff is in "frustrating form" is oddly considerate, especially given that Wednesday isn't known for being so and he knows that. In fact, the only other people to whom we see Wednesday show that kind of unprompted, unconscious consideration by that point are Enid and Eugene. It's not something that happens often, so it's significant.

I wouldn't call these examples romantic per se, and I'm not really defending Tyler in a general sense given what we learn about him, but it's not unreasonable at that point for a guy with a (probable) crush on a girl he's spent some time with to assume that she might return his feelings given the above. In fact, Wednesday doesn't even refute his assumption about her feelings in that conversation like she normally would with Kinbott or Weems. She deflects (like she does with Enid and sometimes Thing) and says she needs to prioritize instead.

It isn't "random" or "bad writing" just because y'all don't like the character or the ship. The groundwork was there since the first episode.

where i stand on Wednesday ships in case yalls were curious.

Wenvier/Wavier: Ship it! Tend to prefer fanon over canon (hard to say if its dynamic or plot it’s a bit of both). think that if any ship were gonna happen fr this might be the most realistic. don’t 100% know how I feel about it being canon in that in order for it to happen well a lot has to be done first that hasn’t happened yet. I think it could work because Xavier isn’t at all put off by her demeanor even from the start he loves it. So I think once they work the miscommunication and set clear boundaries they could actually be really cute!

Wyler/Weyler: Ship it! usually canon over fanon. (dynamic not plot) probably will never happen again. Honestly as much as I adore it, I’m not sure I want it to come back. They ran their course kinda. I just need tyler to be redeemed and while I believe that he truly loved wednesday, he really hurt her. and he knows that. if anything they just need to be friends rn. would be okay with it coming back under very specific circumstances. Similar with Wenvier, tyler was never put off by Wednesday. He followed her around like a puppy in awe of her strength and intelligence. And tyler’s truama plays into nicely as well, where he’s never fit anywhere and just needs a companion to be around. And wednesday provides that. He never cared so much about the what as long as he was included. They didn’t have to talk and plans could change. He just needed to be wanted. Wheras wednesday wanted a intelligent companion to offer advice and assistance with out stepping on her toes. Someone who understood her need to be left alone.

Wenclay (wednesday and bianca): ship it! fanon or canon! totally not realistic but I just think they’re super fun. if wednesday was gonna date a girl I’d want it to be bianca (but i love me sone biancaxlucas action too). would love to see it happen someday haha. Can’t even explain this one other than matched wit badass sapphic couple.

Wenclair: Don’t ship it! It’s cute and all just not my thing. I think they’re too good as friends and I don’t wanna jeopardize or change that it any way. I don’t honestly think it would work that well either. I personally think wednesday would need someone similarly macabre or at least similar attitude. However I totally agree that Enid is queer in some fashion.

Enjax/Petroclair: SHIP SO HARD. FANON AND CANON. OMG I LOVE THEM. THEYRE CANON IN THE SHOW IF THEY BREAK UP I WILL SOB MY HEART OUT. THEY ARE SO SPECIAL TO ME!!

Don't get me wrong, I adore E x Wednesday (I cried when they hugged), but...I feel like the popularity of the ship could risk Weyler. Again, I LOVE their friendship and I would pick romantic E x Wednesday ANY DAY over X and Wednesday, but I just feel like Weyler are better suited because of their shared darkness and unspoken understanding.

I hope they don't do what a lot of popular shows do these days and rewrite things just to make the fans happy. 🫠 I mean, I might get over it since it would be great representation and that's a win, but...an OTP is an OTP so...😔

Hello anon!! I get the concern, but I am genuinely not worried about the writers changing their game plan just because of some fans, for a number of reasons.

First, in the one interview I saw circulating where they were asked directly about the possibility of romantic wenclair, they did a CLASSIC PR move of saying “well anything’s possible” before spending loads of time talking about how Wednesday and Enid’s FRIENDship is something that’ll be at the core of the story and that they want a positive female friendship in the show to set a good example for their daughters. They also emphasize friendship with the rest of the Nevermore kids, which is really reading to me like they have no intention of turning any of Wednesday’s school peers into a romantic interest right now (if ever).

Secondly, the writers have consistently spoken on how Wednesday was attracted to Tyler’s dark side and that it’s very on brand for her to be into him. They’ve also confirmed that they will be exploring Tyler’s true feelings for Wednesday in s2, and stated that Tyler has a “primal attraction” to her. They very much intend on furthering Wednesday and Tyler’s intertwined story, which bodes well for us!

Third, Netflix is just making it look good for us! Weyler has gotten so much promotion in their posts about Wednesday across their global accounts, and posts with Weyler have also gotten them some of the highest impressions on social media. And just today, Netflix Turkey posted on their story that their fave couple of 2022 was Weyler, and the official Wednesday Instagram account pinned a comment that said “I loved Wednesday and Tyler together” beneath a post that really has nothing to do with Weyler besides Tyler (well, Tyler mid-transformation) being in it.

Along those same lines, plenty of people are pitching for Tyler’s redemption arc and getting them back together. Weyler edits across social media platforms have been getting MILLIONS of views and hundreds of thousands of likes, if not millions. I think it’s super easy to forget that the very vocal fans in fandom spaces are not always (if ever) the majority, especially with a show that’s racked up as many viewing hours as Wednesday has. Just from existing online it seems like a fair bit of the general public REALLY liked Wednesday and Tyler, and are hoping he gets redeemed and they find a way back together. Between the writers discussing plans to have them continue to explore their feelings for each other and the narrative in s1 already heavily implying there’s something special with those two, I think we’ll be okay!

ALL that said, if for some reason Weyler doesn’t end up together, I would HOPE they’d go the Wenclair route. Either that or Wednesday ends up single. Really not a fan of Xavier at all, as a character or as a match for her. But I feel like Tyler and Wednesday have a FANTASTIC shot at being THE couple of the show, so don’t stress too much!

-Has been best friends with Ariel Berry since childhood.

-After losing her mom, she, her twin brother and cousin discover the world of Narnia through a portal in an old storybook when going through their mother’s belongings.

-Discovers that she has stellar manipulation powers while she’s in the fantasy world.

-She and Peter have a slow burn romance, and she eventually proposes to him with a mood ring from her era/world.

August Sherwood, The Chronicles of Narnia OC, Edmund Pevensie ship.

-Is the twin brother of Feyra Sherwood and the cousin of Joan Connelly.

-Works in the National History Museum in the 60’s/70’s era.

-Discovers with Feyra and Joan, in which he finds out he has earth/weather manipulation powers.

-When he and Edmund first met, they were both constantly bickering with each other, and were basically too stubborn to admit their romantic feelings for each other.

Joan Connelly, The Chronicles of Narnia OC, Lucy Pevensie ship.

-Is the cousin of Feyra and August Sherwood, and is like a younger sibling to them.

-Is a college student during the 60’s/70’s era who’s questioning their gender/sexuality.

-When they and the twins discover Narnia, they finds out that’s they’re really skilled at using weapons.

-They get so confused when animals just follow them around for no particular reason.

-They later befriend/adopt an orphan wolf cub, after some hesitation at first, which they name Akela who laters becomes their companion.

-Is the daughter of the Queen of Hearts, but their relationship with each other is very stained.

-Is in contact with her aunt, Mirana of Marmoreal/The White Queen who she considers more of a mother figure than her own.

-A member of the VKs, she wants desperately to be good and break away from her mother’s reputation, and dedicates herself to being better once the VKs choose good at the coronation.

-Smart and sarcastic by nature but not mean.

-Loves strawberries, red lipstick and graffiti.

Sofía Madrigal, Descendants OC, Evie Grimhilde ship.

-Is the daughter of Mirabel Madrigal.

-Like her mother, Sofía is a very optimistic and enthusiastic girl who loves her family above everything, and would do absolutely anything to make them proud of her.

-Many years after Casita was rebuilt, Alma passed away, and it was revealed to Mirabel that she had the most important role in the Madrigal family all along, as she was always destined to be the next holder of the family’s miracle casa.

-Is very skilled at sewing and playing the accordion.

-The day before she was sent off to auradon, Mirabel gifted her with a hand-sewn butterfly plush. She said that she would always be with her if she kept the butterfly close, so Sofía keeps the plush in her mochila bag, as she is extremely homesick & misses her mamá, familia & casa very much.

-Unlike her mother, Sofía was blessed on her fifth birthday with a magical gift, joining the rest of the Madrigal family. Sofía has the gift of light, meaning she can create, cease & manipulate it, making her the family’s real life miracle candle. However her power is defective due to Mirabel being giftless, so her gift is uncontrollable.

Wanda Darling, Descendants OC, Harry Hook ship.

-Is the daughter of Wendy Darling.

-Enemies-to-lovers trope!! She has the purest of hearts, is kind and sees only inner beauty, which causes some tension between her and Harry when they meet for the first time in the second movie.

-Wanda negates Harry’s narcissism and teaches him humility. (She basically baked him a big, humble pie.)

-Super shy and doesn’t talk a whole lot, but incredibly smart and loving. Has a huge interest in astronomy.

I'm rewatching Wednesday (again) and I just gotta say:

Having Jenna Ortega being so adorably short and Gwendoline Christie being so awesomely tall in so many scenes together was such a great idea? I love it, I love them both, I really hope Weems will be back next season.

I seriously still can't believe how shippeable Weems and Morticia are for some reason lol like, the show literally goes 'yeah they both had feelings for Gomez so Larissa really doesn't like Morticia' and my brain just goes 'ok so they should totally date right? Obviously a poly GomezxMorticiaxLarissa is the only way this goes!' lol

I've been watching reactions and I just love how everyone sees Enid in chapter one and are like, cautiously interested in the oposites dynamic but afraid She's gonna be annoying (we all remember Amanda lol) and then by chapter 2 Enid has already been adopted and must be protected. That's ver power.

Listening to Xavier talk about how psychic powers are influenced by emotions and Wednesday is not great on that front makes me question if maybe that's actually why her visions always became true. Weems says that Morticia's visions were very unreliable but the show again and again shows us that Wednesday's are not. Maybe it's because her emotions are not jnterfering that much (which makes me very curious to see her visions become more vague and unreliable as she opens up in future seasons, it would make for an interesting plot point if she notices she's feeling more probably thanks to and for Enid and having to decide if those feelings are worth losing her impartial visions)

I'm also hoping Thornhill Is back next season because Cristina Ricci, c'mon Netflix you know you want her!

While I'm very into the fandom side of Wenclair (you guys are really awesome), I'm still a firm believer that Wednesday needs to make it up to Enid because Enid was not treated fairly by her until very late in the season. And also, that Wednesday needs to learn how to be a good friend before romance gets involved. If (and I hope when) they go with the Wenclair router, I think a mid/slow burn is necessary.

But I wouldn't complain if they go fastburn I do love me some fastburn lol

I kinda want Pugsley to get into Nevermore next season too. Why isn't he here? ... Well, probably Nevermore would crumble in pieces with both Addams siblings there at the same time tho lol.

Also going back to the Wenclair thing, it's gonna be so funny and weird if the show never references an Addams family curse or Enid knowing greek or any of the things the fandom just collectibly accepted lol that's why I love ship fandoms.

So… I saw someone say that Wednesday and Xavier were a typical Tim Burton couple because they're both "Socially awkward outcast and kind hearted" And I wondered what that person was up to smoke ?

No because when it comes to being an outcast, you know who else is ? Tyler. Besides, Wednesday has as much trouble fitting in with normal people as it does with pariahs. And Tyler is in exactly the same situation. Especially Tyler. So sorry, but Tyler is a lot more like Wednesday on that outcast-wise.

Also… When is Xavier socially awkward in society during the series ? Because I have no memory of that. I mean, Wednesday is the one who really struggles with this. But whether it's Xavier or Tyler, both handle the basic social aspect much better.

Then, as for having a "good heart", uh… how to say ? They all have it ? And everyone has their problems ? Tyler may hate outcasts and be a Hyde (which isn't a choice, he was born that way), but he's mentally disturbed and first and foremost a victim of abuse. It's not a monster. Just someone misunderstood who has been hurt, who has been fed his anxieties, as well as planting the seed of his hatred for the pariah.

Wednesday is a girl with sociopathic and / or serial killer tendencies, but she cares about the people she has love / affection for and will do anything to protect them.

Xavier is a guy… rather nice and normal but who, sorry, seems quite toxic in terms of romantic relationships.

I also want to say that precisely, Tim Burton tends to create couples between human / monster, or between people unsuited to society, but once again, Tyler corresponds much more to Wednesday on this point. He's an outcast as much to humans as he is to the outcasts in question, just like Wednesday.

You can like whatever ship you want, but just don't deny the fact. Is Xavier an outcast ? Yes. But as much as everyone in the school. It does not give him a particular link with Wednesday on this point. He's not the same type as Wednesday in terms of an outcast, unlike, again, Tyler's character.

At least that's my opinion. I really don't understand the fans of the ship between Wednesday and Xavier. They are nothing special. They are bland and boring to me. However, there are people who compare them to Gomez and Morticia ?! Like, sorry ?! I even have a friend of mine who is convinced that Wednesday will end with Xavier, that the end of season 1 sets this up and that there is no hope with Tyler, simply because he is a Hyde and lied See you Wednesday on that then… That he had no choice ? He had a fucking master ? Sorry, but I don't understand people who love these two together.

due to my adhd brain, I'll try to make this post readable to let you get my points.

you know, you can tell i love queer and straight romance ship from my works, cuz i think no matter the relationship is queer or straight, if it's beautiful then I'll ship it.

It's very sad when someone trying to bash ur ship because they thought this ship should be form like this or that.

Yes, I'm referring to Wednesday the Netflix series.

I get it,

Enid and Wednesday is a perfect trope that everyone likes it, the ice and fire trope. I adore them too, the way they interact with each other is so cute and calm. Just like Marceline and Bubblegum princess, i ship them too, even though most of my ships are gay.

I'm gonna be honest, deep down in my heart I wish to receive a relationship that looks like Wednesday and Xavier. Yup, that kind of thing where they call it boring typical straight romance relationship.

The reason I'm a bit sad is when some people told me,

"No, you shouldn't ship Xavier and Wednesday. They are tasteless like a cracker, Wednesday should be with Enid. Xavier Wednesday ship is so boring."

And also whenever i click the Xavier Wednesday tag, the hates on this ship never fail to surprise me.

Maybe it's just me acting a bit too sensitive or whatever, but i feel an urge to say it.

Im not saying i can't take any judgement or reason why they don't like my ship or offended. In fact, I can write an essay why I adore Enid and Wednesday and also write fanfics for Wednesday and Xavier.

What i try to tell is,

I wish for a rational discuss why u don't like, and not just simply shout your disagreement on my face.

I'm sincerely sorry if this post might let someone get mad, but i still need to spit it out from my mind with no regret.

How I imagine my ships in season 2:

Not my ship but canon so we have to talk about Enax: they're falling apart, Enid's ditching Ajax a lot to go help Wednesday, but Ajax isn't that bothered at the end of the day really, he just goes on dates alone. They eventually break up after Wednesday accidentally spills the beans about Eugene liking Enid, because Ajax realizes he doesn't feel jealous for Enid.

Wenclair: they're dumbasses who don't realize either that they like the other, or that they should let themselves like the other, they try to focus on the main mystery but they can't solve it before discussing what is going on between them.

Pettinger (it's not a ship based off of canon interactions, so I'm not expecting it to be canon, but one can dream): it's the beginning of their relationship, they bond a lot while Ajax is being ditched by Enid, and he just falls hard, even tho he doesn't realize at first, but he starts simping and helping Eugene become cooler because he likes a girl, and Eugene is really flustered because noone has ever shown this much interest in him. After Wendesday accidentally outs Eugene out on liking Enid, Ajax relizes he's not into her anymore, but has fallen for Eugene, and Eugene realizes he has also pretty much forgotten about his feelings for her. Then they have the sweetest relationship.

Tylorpe: both of them are down bad for each other, but Xavier still holds a grudge againts Tyler, and Tyler is just trying to get Xavier's attention 24/7. They do spent a lot of time together even tho they're not on the best terms, but they're roommates, and Tyler is on a mission to get Xavier to be his master so he can stay at Nevermore. But he's also dealing with self-hatred and regret sleeping in the bed of someone he killed, studying in the school he helped almost destroy, and one of these days it's all gonna come out of him and Xavier's gonna forgive him and they're gonna smooch.

Bianca and Lucas: okay I don't accually ship this either, I'm just okay with it because it's canon and I don's ship them with anyone else. I dunno if I like them together or not, because I do feel like the two bigger characters with colored skin together could be a bit controversial, but who am I to say that? I do think it'd be a great twist if Lucas died, mimicking the myth that mermaids lure men into their death. And y'know, the show is gonna need deaths.

5. Do you respond to comments?

As much as possible. Usually I respond to every comment, even if it's just to say a quick Thank You. The only fic on which I haven't done that is Woe of Wrath, if fell into limbo and I have a hard time focusing on it right now. And I feel kind of weird to answer comments after several months of silence, but the more I wait the weirder it gets...

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Doomed is a Dead Dove Do Not Eat fic. The entire text is dark, including the ending.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I will go with Double-Date With Dad. Farewell Xavier Thorpe ends on a really good note too (if you are not a fan of Xavier).

8. Do you get hate on fics?

It never happened. Fingers crossed.

9. Do you write smut? What kind?

I try. I find it difficult for two reasons. First, it's tough to avoid clichés. When you read smut, you end up noticing some general patterns, and I do my best to stay away from those. Second, I'm not a fan of some popular kinks, for instance I can't stand the expression "good girl", and therefore I'm not interested in writing it, even if I keep reading authors that use them. Some people probably think my smut fics are boring, too soft, too ordinary. But I don't care (yeah, I do, but shh).

10. Do you write cross-overs?

No. And I have a really hard time reading cross-overs too. And I hate cross-overs in tv shows. Complete respect to authors, however. It's just not my thing.

11. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No. I guess I could translate my own fics in French since it's my native language, but for now I don't see any reason to do so.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, I did. It was a weird kind of toxic partnership. The other person was responsible for writing the general plot (because my ideas weren't good enough), and I had to turn every page he wrote into a three-pages long section, adding descriptions and filling the blanks. And correct the spelling and grammar, and add better vocabulary...

13. What WIP would you like to finish but doubt you ever will?

I hope I will finish every WIP I currently have, even if they tend to pile up (WIP bunnies...). My biggest challenge is to go back to Woe of Wrath. It is my first fic, it is a multi-chapter one, and I started to write it just to let the steam out after a twenty-years-long writing hiatus, so the outline was not super clear, there are many plot holes I try to fix, the sentences and vocabulary are bad... I know where I want to take the story and how it ends, but it's hard not to want to start over.

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

For fanfics I'll say Weyler because it's the only thing I've ever written. Now besides that... For those who read Guy Gavriel Kay, I'm forever bound to the Diarmuid/Sharra ship, followed by Paul/Jaelle. Quite fond of the Clary/Jace ship in The Mortal Instruments (The books! Don't talk to me about the movie or the tv show!)

No damn idea. I've been asking myself the same question since I was thirteen.

Probably not being able to answer question 15. Imposter syndrome.

17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

In French it's not a problem, of course. I've done it in Impulsion. I have studied Latin for two years in highschool so I felt comfortable enough to translate a few sentences in Woe of Wrath. For other languages, I would only do so if I can find a beta reader fluent in this specific language to correct the grammar. I cringe everytime I read English fics with badly written French dialogs, it makes me loose the focus on the story (Same for tv shows, by the way. Come on, you have 2 millions $ to produce an episode and you can't find someone to double-check your French sentence?). It's really hard for me not to comment with a correction (AO3 etiquette: do not provide corrections unless the author specifically asked for it). I don't want to inflict that on my readers by butchering their native language.

18. First fandom you wrote for?

Star Wars. It was a long time ago (in a galaxy far far away), when there were only three movies and a few books (Timothy Zahn forever!). And for those who wonder how old I am, I used to write with WordPerfect, DOS version (it was the pre-Windows era). It had a blue background (terrible for the eyes) and some keycodes you had to use to change the font to bold or italics. Since you can't visualize anything in DOS (it's not a wysiwyg), it used colors, so you had to remember what it meant (yellow letters meant italics...). And I used to save those texts on a floppy my mom took to her office to print.

19. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?

It's not a popular one, but I really like Monologue for a Hyde. I like the tone. Pretty happy with Fuck Me Once Shame on You, Fuck Me Twice Shame on Me, too.

20. What fic would you want to rewrite one day?

Woe of Wrath without a doubt. With a proper plan, and a lot of plot holes avoided (that damn cellphone...)

in the middle, the whole cringe seems to be moving away, and the last episode for me is generally a masterpiece

Like. Seriously, the characters, locations, and backstories of the Addams had SO POTENTIAL. And the terrible presentation ruined everything. All events are moving very quickly, and I can’t even believe that Enid and Wednesday managed to make friends in such a short time. Each episode, although stuffed with an investigation, loads not the viewer, but the characters themselves. Literally every grove, when the Sheriff wanted to take a break from other cases, Wednesday interfered with him.

So...about the boys in Wednesday...Let's be honest they aren't that great. But i kinda think that's the point. Obviously, spoilers ahead.

Disclaimer: I was not in this fandom before yesterday so I love Enid but i don't ship her with Wednesday. Completely fair if you do but personally i don't dig that dynamic for a romantic pairing and i think Enid is too good for Wednesday 😭 I really thought we'd have more Bianca x Wednesday but alas

Now the "Love Triangle", was it is even one?

Let me start with Xavier. Besides the tortured artist boy being a least favorite trope of mine (ironic considering i am this trope) he just didn't have much depth. He doesn't get along with his dad, he's rich, popular, into Wednesday. What else? He's obsessed with Wednesday. Like i know he can't help seeing her in his dreams but the way he goes about his interest in her is icky and not in the fun way. Xavier is Bianca's ex bf (side note: can we get more Bianca love pls?) And broke up with her bc he felt she was hypnotizing him. Which is ironic considering he asks her to make him forget about Wed. Glad the show touched on how not cool that was.

Other than him just not really having much depth, he is also the "love interest" and i use the term loosely that Wednesday is the least interested in. She only ever entertains either boy when she has an ulterior motive (which y'know girl slay gas keep), but Xavier really never had a shot and I hope the end scene was more them becoming friends than anything bc imo they had negative chemistry. Wednesday doesn't care about Xavier's feelings. She doesn't care about his warnings. He is just of no importance to her until he seems like the killer. I really hope they give Xavier a glow up and keep them as just friends, we need more m&f friendships that don't turn romantic.

One to the other (more successful) love interest. Tyler.

Now i didn't put love interest in quotes this time bc he actually got a kiss. Lemme make this clear, Wednesday would have never gone along with Thing's shenanigans if she was interested in Tyler. She would have never gone on the date or kissed him if she didn't want to. Of the two dudes, Tyler is imo the only real love interest of s1. Xavier is just some guy who likes her. Tyler may or may not have been into Wednesday but she was into him. If you disagree with any of this that's fair but i think we watched different shows idk. Wednesday was definitely into Tyler in the end, but was he into her? Was any of it genuine or was it all an act? Idk for Wednesday Addams, i think a manipulative monster is probably her dream guy just saying

With that established, I need to admit that Tyler is my preferred love interest. Now lemme explain before you run away, Tyler is a manipulative POS but that's exactly why he's great for Wednesday. She's an Addams, they are a family full of manipulators, criminals, and altogether twisted people. Yet at the same time they're lovable and loyal to each other. Wednesday canonically tortures her brother, she's not called toxic for no reason, she's the most malicious Addams we know. Even Fester is mostly just a goof, a murderous goof but still. With the caveat of Tyler getting a redemption arc in next season, i can totally see the show overlooking his murders bc we still don't really know what being a Hyde entails and like i said, the Addams don't seem to care if you killed or kill people, just don't wear pastels. And honestly it's a bad look to just cast aside the traumatized, abused, and neglected kid as evil and leave it at that. With our protagonist being who she is, i hope the writers give Tyler some more screentime bc i can really see him being a great rival/frenemy to Wednesday and personally i think if she does get a romance, enemies to lovers is probably the best trope for her.

Xavier Thorpe=Wasted Potential

Honestly, I think he's a bit over hated, and of course, canon kind of did him dirty too. So here's a list of things I wish they'd elaborated on about him.

Xavier and Bianca

He gets a lot of hate for some scenes, and yeah, I will say, the siren song comment at the dance was asshole behavior, even if it was the throwaway kind of comment you don't really mean to say, which is how I interpret that scene. I'm not saying he's completely devoid of blame in that scene, but Bianca does not let him get away with it. She doesn't take his shit, and later asks him to apologize, which he does sincerely. And yeah, they sometimes act like bitter exes, but honestly I think their kind of edging to a friendship relationship is probably one of the healthier ones in the show. Yes, both of them have messed up, but they do own up to it. And if someone hates on him for breaking up with her, they're teenagers. Teenage love doesn't work out most of the time, and Bianca herself admits to using her siren song on him once. I wish they'd elaborated on that incident, but given that she admits it herself, I personally think it was valid for them to break up. Honestly, Bianca is depicted as a competitive girl with a mean streak and control issues, something that partially resulted from her upbringing, and I think she would benefit from therapy more than and actual romantic relationship. To be frank, Bianca and Xavier work best as friends, and in the show I think they're slowly edging towards a healthy friendship. Both parties are not completely blameless, but they do own up and apologize for it, so I don't think they deserve hate for that?

Xavier and Wednesday

Honestly this is really complicated for me. On one hand, Xavier crushing on a girl who once saved his life as a kid is like totally normal. Like I see people hating on him for not being 'dark' enough for Wednesday? Well cool that you don't ship them but why blame him for that? I do think some people think he's annoying and boring, but he's a teen. With a crush, and he's depicted from Wednesday's perspective. Honestly, in his scenes with Wednesday, I think the writers were trying to sell a romance too hard, which resulted in him being weird. And yeah part of that is just crush behavior. Honestly, he doesn't take too much shit from Wednesday, which is good, and I hope they can be friends and remain friends in s2. I think some people hate on him for being mad at Wednesday for asking him to the dance on false pretenses, but like, she did invade his private space. And before anyone says he should've expected that from her, would it really have gone down well if he saw her near his shed and immediately accused her of snooping? I don't think so. He was acting like a normal human with a crush, and of course he'd be hurt when someone asks him to a dance to cover up their invasion on his privacy. I think everyone would be mad if someone did that to them, crush or not. And why are we hating on him for having a crush again? Like I myself don't ship Wavier here. Another scene I think people hate on him unnecessarily on is his argument with Bianca. It's framed by the show writers like he's arguing with his ex and suddenly his ex gets jealous of his new crush, but I could've sworn they were literally just arguing about their relationship. Like Bianca was literally the one to bring up Wednesday and the she's not the girl of your dreams comment was quite out of the blue, something Percy Hynes White shows quite well, because Xavier looks really confused at the sudden comment too.

Xavier and Tyler's beef with each other

Okay this is more what I wish they could show in s2. But also, I don't think their rivalry is actually that much jealousy of each other's relationship with Wednesday? In the show, Xavier is shown to be untrusting and bitter towards Tyler, and it's a bit weird and played of as jealousy, but we actually find a valid reason, and it's called Tyler and his friends ruined his mural and assaulted him a year ago. I think anyone would be quite angry at that. So yeah his stay away from Tyler comments may seem like jealousy and kinda weird from Wednesday's perspective, but when you think about it, he's just concerned that Tyler is prejudiced against outcasts, as per his own painful experience. Even then he actually didn't make Tyler's life as hard as he could have, something even Tyler admits to. So like, his anger at Tyler? Was pretty justified, rooted in reason, and explainable.

Him and just his backstory in general

For someone who's supposed to be a main love interest, he doesn't really get an arc. For example, in the parent's day arc, Enid's argument with her mom ends in her standing up for herself and hugging her father who's proud of her. Queen behavior, we love her for that. Bianca doesn't exactly get a resolution here, but something progresses, threads for s2 are laid, and she starts to try help people like Lucas to stay away from her mom. Character development and plot, cool. We learn something about her. But Xavier? His dad doesn't come, and that's all we know. They bring that up and just never do anything with it. In episode 7, we learn that his father has him go to therapy in secret so he doesn't cause trouble. Terrible parenting, but except for it being a plot device to implicate him, it doesn't go anywhere. He's a main character of sorts, and all we know about him is that he secretly goes to therapy, his father is implied to not care about him much, and that he canonically has mental health issues. That's it. And yeah, I get it, the show is from Wednesday's point of view, that's why we don't know much about him. But we do get something from Bianca and Enid and tentatively Tyler, so why not him? I hope that in s2, we could maybe learn why he goes to therapy in the first place, and his backstory. Like his dad obviously only cares about publicity, so what could possibly prompt him to send Xavier to therapy and risk having people find out his son has mental health problems? Like what did Xavier do to actually make his dad send him to therapy?

Okay so this got long, but I have a lot of feelings. Maybe I'll elaborate on my own headcanons, but for now, this is it. I hope Xavier gets over his crush in s2, and actually has his backstory explored like you'd assume a relatively main character would be.

Okay I’ll just say it, so aside from the fact that I love the new Wednesday show, I think there’s a quick point to be made. Whoever you ship or don’t ship, whoever you think has chemistry or not, I think too much tension is being created that’s unnecessary. Personally I’ll admit I’m a bit of a Wednesday x Xavier shipper, and no I will not give you my reasons why (certainly not at this time) because it’s not owed, and I simply don’t want to, which is a stance I respect from anyone else with their ship, including those that people do give their reasons for. And that is equally the case for those you might not ship (I’m admittedly not a Wednesday x Tyler fan, don’t really get it, sorry), it’s a TV show for crying out loud, let it be fun, whoever you think Wednesday should be with or even if you think she shouldn’t be with anyone is fine but stop making it a competition and just enjoy it, we’ve literally only had one season, it’s an introduction to these characters, not a summary of all that they’ll be, they’ve had a bit of development in who they are but their journey’s are just unfolding so give it a minute would ya.
