Tips for artists coming back to tumblr from twitter

Have a pinned post with your name and links, like you would on twitter. You can also add links to your bio with html.

Find a blog theme that is very image friendly.

Create an art tag so people can find your work!! Especially if you also reblog others’ stuff onto your main. If you don’t feel like getting creative, #my art is a popular one.

Popular art tags here are # artists on tumblr, # my art, # illustration, and # drawing, or just simply # art. You can add as many tags as you want to a post, although only the first 20 or so are prioritized in search.

Pinned tags are now a thing? so like if you have a bunch of tags on your blog but only want a select few to show up, you do that in blog settings.

You can also turn on tipping on your posts to allow people to donate to you if you connect a Stripe account. I don't know specifics.

Create an art-only sideblog for people to follow if they don’t want to see all your reblogs.

Submit your art to blogs like @art or @artistalley for a chance at getting featured or reaching a wider audience!

You can use spaces in tags. Please use spaces in tags. It makes navigation much easier.

I love that Elizabeth and Darcy are so ready to effectively tell each other they're full of shit. This happens a bunch of times, but I was re-reading their conversation at the Netherfield Ball and they're both kind of refreshingly Done.

Fandom Gripes #24: Fans acting like the act of interfering in a rapidly deteriorating situation with the intention of helping makes you not only a bad person but also just as bad as (or worse than) the person/people causing the bad situation has got to stop. Blaming mxtx protags for not successfully saving the people they tried to help despite directly helping while others were either 1) actively trying to kill the people the protags were trying to help or 2) passively watching as others actively tried to kill the people the protags were trying to help is like irl when a good Samaritan saves someone’s life but then get sued later because saving said person’s life left them with injuries. Which is why we now have to have Good Samaritan Laws in America to discourage people from deciding that saving a life isn’t worth the consequences.

It’s kinda frustrating how everyone will say oh we want more egg drama, we want character conflict, we want more infighting, but when it makes their fav cubito look bad suddenly we’re taking everything too seriously and ruining the fun. It’s not just a block game to the characters, because they live there, so making critiques on behavior that is bad or toxic isn’t an attack it’s what happens when there is character conflict. Correcting, or discussing is perfectly normal, but you can’t say you want conflict and then turn it into something lighthearted because that means you didn’t actually want any conflict. You wanted conflict now here’s your conflict and sadly when there is conflict it will make characters look bad, it makes Tallulah, Leo, Foolish, Phil, and Tubbo all look bad it’s what happens.

You can’t tell people to stop making analysis or critiquing behavior because you’re viewing differently, or choosing to change the story to make it more lighthearted. Like I understand saying don’t cross in to reality people often do with ccs, but is anyone actually doing that with the admins?

The jump btwn the second to last and last always surprise me whenever I make one of these because I always forget to take snapshots after I start painting. It's always like: oh yeah heres the lineart with some colors- BOOM fully finished✨️

I was going to draw the crown too but decided I don't hate myself that much(maybe some other day), and gave him a golden laurel crown, bcs I'm obsessed with that as a motif, and also its very remincient of the boy king statue that started this whole thing!

There's some symbolism of this, both intentionally but also just historically. I love that the orb represents that the monarch is holding the world in their hand, basically every old monarchy has one of those, and I think it's very cool for symbolism. But also bcs of that, I was forced to basically draw catholic fanart so, you win some you lose some. The star halo above him head is both to reference those religious statues with star crowns(I saw them a lot in Europe and they imprinted onto my brain), as well as: his four championships of course!

recognizing that duel monsters cards have to have some kind of chip or code that the duel disks read to project the images, how much shenanigans do you think people get up to? can you hack a card? can you get different stats to appear? modify appearances of monsters? just a little googling on amiibos shows people can make emulators or create your own cards. what wacky stuff do you think duelists get up to, with too much time and a drive to push these devices to their limits?
