𐙚 SOOBIN

• Passes by his friends’ houses to collect them, walking together to school • Pouts whenever someone else takes something he’s set his eyes on but doesn’t say anything about it. He tells himself it’s fine, as long as they're happy • Only brings essentials to school, but overpacks on situational things he might need like band-aids and bug lotion/patches — “What if I get bitten by a THOUSAND mosquitoes today?!” • Loves to play with house toys, such as kitchenware with fancy wooden stoves. A bit stressed when someone comes along and plays beside him.  • At the playground he tries to conquer the seesaw. Unfortunately he is afraid the person on the other end might not let him down or catapult him into the air, so he just sits on it with nobody on the other side. • Lunchbox has every food group, sometimes even gets dessert when he’s behaved enough. Eats the longest because he may have to force himself to eat whatever he doesn’t like. • Favorite time of the day is nap time! Everyone is quiet and he gets to sleep, no complaints here

𐙚 YEONJUN

• In charge of looking both ways when crossing the road, grips hard when holding hands. • Overpacks toys and stationary, but still capable of forgetting something mildly important.  • Loves to play with building blocks and matching games/puzzles. • At the playground he’s at the top of the slide, ruling over his minions and most likely hogging it. • Likes to trade lunches with other kids, particular about the quality to quantity ratio. Expert at haggling. — “I’m taking more from you because my dish is harder to prepare and has more ingredients! Maybe if you give me a piece of your sides, I’ll consider it.” • Favorite time of the day is recess! Likes mingling with other kids, there is no set agenda so he could talk about or do anything

𐙚 BEOMGYU

• Strays and wanders away from the walking group, sometimes gets lost. • Things are heavily personalized, same unsure handwriting that says "beomgyu" on every item he owns, and as much as possible they’re all the same color or have the same character.  • Erasers are the gel fruit ones that get lost (or eaten) • Loves to play with very select plushies, may throw a tantrum if he doesn’t have it with him • At the playground he can be found in sandboxes, making castles and pretending to be a monster. • Steps on other kids’ work in the process. Sometimes it’s an accident, most times it's intentional — “I didn’t destroy your castle because it’s better than mine, which is a lie. I destroyed it because I’m godzilla.” • Brags about all of the snacks and candies his parents gave him (or what he takes from the cupboard) • Favorite time of the day is arts class! A subject where he can be as loud and messy as he wants for the sake of whatever project he’s making that day.

𐙚 TAEHYUN

• Has a map in his bag in case they forget the route • Loves to talk about his surroundings, eyes glistening when others ask follow up questions • Always asks questions in class, he’s so attentive !! • Complete stationery set, including a cool pencil case with a built in sharpener. Will let others borrow but will ask why they need it, asking every other second if he can have it back because he’s afraid they’ll lose it or keep it • Loves to play with interactive books, pop-ups and especially ones where you can feel the texture of things. • At the playground he loves being on the swing sets, telling other children to wait their turn or when 5 minutes have passed to let others have a chance on the swing. — “Your time was up two minutes ago! Why am I still here? I’m the reason you get turns in the first place!” • Always eats whatever his parents have prepared for him, boasts about being healthy and outliving everyone else. • Favorite time of the day is math class! Since math class is technically indirect and simple arithmetics, such as adding apples, sometimes it’s easy to cheat (count on his fingers)

𐙚 HUENINGKAI

• Stops to look at all the fauna and flora, squealing and telling those around him. My little arthropod lover! • Extensive art set that gets everyone's attention, other kids love to borrow from him and he can be kind of a pushover. Unfortunately, they end up losing them. • Loves to play with anything colorful that makes sound, such as a rainbow xylophone • At the playground he loves the roundabout, but he’s too shy to get on. He patiently waits for someone to invite him to ride, so instead he pushes the others around. • Tries to eat his lunch quickly in case someone might ask him to share. He will, but he will sulk a lot. It was prepared for him! • Favorite time of the day is music class! Generally this is a time where everyone just makes noise, but most eyes are on him when he learns a new toy instrument. He doesn’t like the attention, but it’s not so bad either. — “This? Oh, I guess it’s just easy for me. wait, sorry! I didn't mean to brag.... When I want to hear a sound, my hands move on my own to do it! Teach you? Um I’m not really good at that… But sure!”

seventeen: hoshi! his insane energy and bright personality got me first, but then i saw the rest of his skills and got super impressed txt: hueningkai! he's just really soft and squishy and as an avid plushie collector myself i respect him so much stray kids: felix! he's adorable. he's got the freckles. he's a memelord. his voice is at the bottom of the ocean. come on.

who was your first bias?

seventeen: scoups! i loved his energy so much and also he's just super cool. well, now i know he's also a massive bbg but he still resides fondly in my heart txt: yeonjun! well, once you get past the massive denial phase i had over him. i'm pretty sure i was going 'ohi like them all equally!' and then vehemently deny any and all feelings i had for him. oops. i gave up on fighting it though stray kids: chan! i got exposed to meme videos of him first so there was no chance of me not liking him. he's cute, he's goofy, he gets bullied by everyone else as the long suffering dad/leader of the group, it's great

who is your current bias?

seventeen: vernon! he is also my brand for this blog. no one has me more down bad-atrocious-abysmal-astronomical for just some dude than he does. he's a walking meme. his expressions are either at 0 or 100 and i swear there's no in between. he casually does the most random things possible and is completely unbothered by it. he's winning the idgaf war. his fashion sense is questionable and his selfie skills are nonexistent. i love him anyways. i am fondly looking at the photocard i have of him on my desk. there's something wrong with me but at least i'm funny about it txt: still yeonjun. the denial phase over him has unfortunately massively endeared me to him. he's silly, he's cute, he's endearing, his forays into fashion are interesting to me. (looks at the croc boots he wore once) (the squidward walking noises he made while wearing them really sells it ngl) stray kids: also still chan. he's a dork!!! he's silly!!!! he's so so kind it makes my heart ache sometimes. he's also jacked but what's bigger than his boobs butt arms? his heart. at the end of the day he's a silly goose no matter what he does

oh i monologued too hard about my beloveds and answered the this question in the last one. oops. time to add even more seventeen: vernon's just absolutely hilarious. he's a walking meme machine. his expressions are insane when he's not being an unbothered king. the way he laughs is so silly!! i love it!!! he has a really unique perspective on the world that i really appreciate. i wish i could be a chill about things as he is. txt: yeonjun is so sweet and silly but he's also really kind too. i appreciate his humility a lot because he didn't let his natural talents make him complacent. i'm only slightly emotional about the fact that his mom calls him her healing </3 like that's so cute what stray kids: once again!! silly! goofy! incredibly kind!!! massive dork!!! at the end of the day he's just a silly goose!!! but also everything he does just blows me away, what can't he do besides eat spicy food and not get bullied by the rest of the group?

🌐 STRAY KIDS' REACTION TO THEIR IDOL!S/O BEING MADE UNCOMFORTABLE BY ANOTHER IDOL

♡ warnings — un-named creepy idol

#CHAN

♡ chan see's absolutely everything when it concerns his group members, his family, and his partner, so the minute you move away from the idol beside you — albeit only slightly, chan is on the case. he'll try his best to shuffle his own seat over so he can make more space for you, and if by chance the camera's cut for a moment, chan will lean over and mutter some selective words for the idol

"we are on live television in front of your fans, my fans, and their fans combined — you think they won't notice you making y/n uncomfortable?" he watched as the idol leaned away slightly, muttering a small apology your way before focusing back on the script. "the last thing you want or need is being called out for it by the fanbases," chan muttered the last part, directing his gaze onto you.

the look he gave you was one of concern, asking if you were okay, and asked if you had wanted to switch seats with him. while he couldn't help out or call the idol out as much as he wished he could, chan could at least settle for making sure you were safe and comfortable moving forward.

#MINHO

♡ we've all seen how intimidating minho can look even when shooting joking glares towards his other members — but an actually pissed minho would be ten times scarier. when his eyes caught onto the idols physical advances towards you, he would shoot multiple glares the mans way until he noticed, and when he did, minho would let him know what was on his mind without alerting the audience or camera that wasn't solely focused on them anymore

the smiling idol looked away from your downturned gaze and uneasy smile when he felt the piercing eyes of another burning into his head — and upon looking up, he made eye contact with minho. "can't you see you're making them uncomfortable?"

while the idol went to snap back with his defense, minho simply shrugged him off and stood, ushering you to take his old seat as he put himself between the two of you. it didn't matter if the show producers asked him to move back, minho would sit between the two of you until the show was over.

#CHANGBIN

♡ his stare and form are silent but deadly — while he keeps a very watchful eye on the idol the second he notices your discomfort due to the man, changbin doesn't say much. he's both weary of the camera watching his every move, yet also wary of you — he doesn't want to draw attention to it in case you didn't want to — after all the situation wasn't one to take lightly at all

everyone one in the room stood and sat on edge as they watched the male sat on your left send sharp glares to the man that sat on your right — the tension between the two of you nearly suffocating. despite his attempts to not draw attention to the situation, it was obvious to all the distaste changbin had for the idol.

"cut!" as soon as the director called cut, changbin had his hand on your chair, pulling you towards him and putting a safe distance between the idol and you. it wasn't much, but it was enough to get his point across — keep your dirty hands off of y/n.

#HYUNJIN

♡ i'm really torn about how hyunjin would react in the situation — while i can see him jumping into action immediately and either talking to the idol, the producers or even putting himself between the two of you like minho did, i can also see him staying relatively quiet to ensure that his anger was in check. that however really depends on what exactly the idol was saying or doing to you

as soon as the red blinking light faded and the claps and cheers from the producing team signaled that the three of you were officially off-air, hyunjin had stood quickly and pulled you along with him as he went to utter a few choice words to both the idols management and the showrunners in general.

"how could you not see how he was treating them? the minute they moved away from him, you should've cut to a commercial break or something and talk to him," hyunjin scoffed, ignoring the way you tried to pull him away. "and as for you, you need to learn to teach your idols some decent human respect," he left it at that, pulling you under his arm and dragging you to a more quiet and safe place.

#JISUNG

♡ while he wouldn't necessarily notice the idol advances towards you at first, he would catch on after a while — jisung, like changbin, settles for being quiet for the most part, but like minho, would glare at the idol until he cowers. he takes your comfort and safety very seriously, so he'll drop his mostly carefree and happy self and switch it for the more serious and dangerous-looking han

jisung didn't hide his glare from the camera, and blatantly ignored the whispers from his management at the side who were telling him to stop the dirty looks he was sending the idols way.

when the commercial break finally came, almost everyone let out a sigh of relief, watching as jisung pulled you closer to him while keeping his eyes trained on the other idol — "are you okay?" jisung turned his attention to you for a split second, only turning his attention back to the idol when you nodded slightly.

#FELIX

♡ he focuses on you more than anything — his undivided attention is on you as he tries to make the situation less uncomfortable. he shuffles his chair closer to you, cracks small jokes, or even offers you his hand under the table — anything that he can do to get your mind off of the male to your other side, and anything that can make you smile, felix will do

his hand was intertwined with your own, fingers playing with and adjusting the rings that were on your fingers — felix tried to keep your eyes focused on his hand as e shot subtle glances towards the other male idol.

"we should get ice cream after this," felix whispered. "order in for you, me, and the boys," he laughed at the thought of the other seven boys all gathered around on the couch eating ice cream together — the situation sounds a lot more appealing than the one you found yourself in now.

#SEUNGMIN

♡ while he wouldn't cause a big scene per se, it would defiantly be a scene in general — seungmin standing up, towering over the seated idol as he pushed your chair away from the idols, and closer to his own before grabbing his own chair and placing it between the two of you. like jisung, he'd blatantly ignore the shocked looks from the management, and the warnings from the sidelines

seungmin sat down with a huff, his eyes not even going back to the idol who now wore a shocked expression at the usually silent and kind males outburst — instead, seungmin averted his eyes to you and quietly asked if you were okay, his hand resting softly on your knee to show his support.

the minute the three of you were dismissed, seungmin wouldn't hesitate from taking you under his arm and walking towards your management, "i don't want them doing any more interviews at his side — the way he treated them is unacceptable," he spoke loud enough for the other idol to hear, but he hadn't a care in the world as he walked the two of you towards his dressing room.

#I.N

♡ he would, like felix, focus more on your comfort and feelings over everything else — quickly ushering you away from the scene as soon as the three of you were dismissed, and into a more comfortable room where he could simply hold you. i.n knew better then to go after the idol verbally, but made a promise to himself to have a talk to chan about what he should do

his hands rubbed slow circles into your lower back, trying to comfort you to the best of his ability, and desperately trying to calm your fast-beating heart and skyrocketed nerves. "he's not here anymore, okay? i'll make sure that he's not around you without someone else there."

i.n tried not to think about what he would.ve said or done to the man if he was able to, but all he knows is that it wouldn't have been a pretty sight for anyone — all he tried to focus on now, was calming you, and holding you until you could barely think about or better yet remember the idols face anymore.

They say time heals all wounds, but for Yeonjun, it seemed as though he was the bitter exception. Months after he had split off from his relationship with y/n, the wound in his heart was as fresh as ever. And who could he blame? He started the argument, he brought up her past trauma, he blamed her for things she had no control over. No wonder she wanted out so badly. But if time didn’t heal the wound in his heart, it definitely gave him perspective. A perspective into his own reckless behaviour. However, the end of term-break was nearing, and he’d be forced to face y/n - and the aftermath - again. 

Sighing as he watched the time tick forward inch by inch, Yeonjun tried focusing on eating breakfast, ignoring the reminder in his head that he’d be in the same class as his ex-girlfriend again. Perhaps Professor Chae would have mercy and not put their seating places beside each other. His phone going off as he finished the last of his cereal, Yeonjun picked it up, rolling his eyes as his best friend’s message.

Wooyoung: Hey, do you think I’ll get any confessions this term?

Yeonjun: Dude, you get a new confession like, every other week, why are you even asking?

Wooyoung: Oh yeah~ you’re right!

Yeonjun: Don't you have a boyfriend though? Where’s Changbin? Say hi to him for me

Wooyoung: He doesn’t have class until 10:30 :( 

Wooyoung: Hey! You have his number too! Say hi yourself!

Yeonjun: Ehh, can’t be asked. See you later.

Wooyoung: Uh huh love you too - bye!

Bag slung over his shoulder, outfit complete, a water bottle in his bag and he was ready; now all he had to do was to brave actually going out of his apartment and to his first class of the day. But his thoughts were being less than kind to him, and Yeonjun could feel his heart start to palpitate. Patting his chest repeatedly as he tried to steady his own breathing, the 21-year-old took to heading back inside to his living room, where he sat down and tried dealing with the oncoming wave of anxiety and panic.

Yeonjun hadn’t heard the knock at his door, nor had he heard when the passcode had been entered, a concerned Wooyoung walking through the door. “Yeonjun…? Junie? Choi Yeonjun where are-,” Stopping in his tracks when he walked in on his best friend crouched behind one end of the sofa, out of sight. “Yeonjun-ah, it’s me…”

“Oh - Wooyoung, I- how, how did you get in?” The fellow 21-year-old asked, finally aware enough to realise that Wooyoung was in his apartment, kneeling down beside him. Looking over, the vulnerability was raw, and entirely out on display. And Wooyoung’s gentle smile provided a sense of warmth and familiarity, no matter how small that feeling was.

“You still haven’t changed it since you told me. Anyway- that’s not too important; let’s get you feeling better hmm? I’m not the emotional support friend for nothing you know~.” Wooyoung hummed, taking Yeonjun’s hand into his own. Starting with a short breathing exercise, the dance major got Yeonjun to relax, asking him to describe the items in his room; starting with five things he could see, going down consecutively until they had gone through each of his senses. And it had started to work; Yeonjun’s heart didn’t feel like it was beating out of his chest, everything had become clearer - the crushing in his chest going away. Taking a few more stable breaths, Yeonjun’s body relaxed as he slowly stood up, Wooyoung standing up soon afterwards.

“That...that was rough. Thanks Woo.”

“No problem Jun, it’s what I’m here for.”

Arriving in class but five minutes late, Yeonjun tried concentrating on the presentation in front of him, making notes every so often as his professor explained the lesson. Everything felt normal, perhaps even too normal. But normal was better than nothing, and it seemed like the fashion major wouldn’t be facing y/n at school for the time being. Busy with his notes as he adjusted his glasses, the universe must have counted him lucky as he didn’t see who entered the lecture hall to talk to the professor. When he finally looked up from his notebook, his eyes widened before he immediately went back to staring at his notes, in hopes that y/n didn’t notice him on her way out. 

But she did notice him. She did notice him sitting in his seat as she left. When did he change professors? Remaining by the door as she closed it behind her, the performing arts major blinked back memories before she made her way back to class; class was more important than an old relationship gone sour. Walking back into the hallspace that was the location of her class, tried refocusing as she joined her group of friends as they watched some of the improv performances after speaking to her own professor.

“Well? What did Mr Kim say? Are we going to be working with the fashion majors for the end of year performance?” Dejun asked, leaning over to whisper while they watched their classmates. 

“Oh? Yeah, yeah, Mr Kim said Mr Song will be ‘lending’ his students to us,” Y/n replied, air quotes as she spoke, “ I don’t know about you Xiaojun, but doesn’t ‘lending’ sound kinda off?” She asked, an amused grin on her face as she went over the wording one more time. Taking a moment to realise what about it was so amusing, he snickered when the correlation finally clicked. The pair exhaled rapidly to try and drown the laughter, they covered their mouths with their hands once their professor glared in their direction.

“Well; looks like we got caught~ but yeah - are they products to him or something?”

“We may never know Xiaojun, we may never know~.”

As class finished up, y/n grabbed her bag and headed out, waving to Dejun and her friends as she made her way into the hallway. Earbuds plugged in, she kept her hands in her pocket as she aimlessly wandered through campus, humming along to the song playing as she found herself walking towards the courtyard. Without any other classes until that afternoon, there was plenty of time to sneak in a nap while she listened to her true crime podcast. Finding a bench off in the corner, the second-year student let her mind rest as she placed her coat along the bench and laid her head on her bag.

As luck would have it, Yeonjun’s timetable had more or less the same timings as y/n’s, and he had also been looking for a quiet place to rest. Class had gone well after seeing y/n, and the book he had been reading was just getting to the good part. Finding a bench that wasn’t too far away from y/n - he didn’t intentionally sit close by, but life is never predictable - he took a seat, opening the book and continuing with the tale in his hands. His reactions muted as to not draw much outward attention to himself, the bout of uncontrollable snickers ended up waking and getting the attention of the only other student in the courtyard. Looking up from his book when he heard the sound of someone clearing their throat, the nervous palpitations of his heart started again when he recognised who he was sharing the courtyard space with.

“Hey-! Can, can I talk to you? Please…” Y/n was seconds from heading out of the courtyard when she heard Yeonjun’s voice, turning around for a brief moment before sighing. After the way he treated their break up, she was certain that there would be no way she’d want to see him again by choice. Rolling her eyes, she turned back towards the direction of the hallway, only to be stopped by a hand holding onto her wrist; holding onto her as though she was an uncertain dream. One that would fade away if not given the chance to confront it.

“Choi Yeonjun, I thought I made it clear that I don’t want you to speak to me again. Is it that hard to stick to?” 

“I know y/n - and I’m sorry - but I’ve been beating myself up over this and I need to apologise. Apologise to you properly.” He was desperate, desperate to set things right and try to regain some level of contact with y/n. Yeonjun would be a dirty liar if he tried telling himself that even after all he had put his ex girlfriend through, he didn’t want to try becoming closer, at least platonically. But the feeling wasn’t mutual. Y/n wanted nothing to do with her ex; he’d hurt her too much, and despite the memories they shared, she could see nothing but the man who used the insecurities she trusted him with against her. He was a chapter in her past she wanted to separate herself from, to never look at again.Y/n said nothing as she pried his hand off of her wrist, a hard glare in her eyes as she left Yeonjun alone in the courtyard. Staring at his hands as though they were red with blood, his thoughts spiralled, exactly one being voiced out through a whisper, only for Yeonjun’s ears but meant for y/n.

“Don’t leave me here, don’t leave me clasping at straws y/n…”

“Wait, wait, wait - Yeonjun was in the courtyard?” Xiaojun’s voice called out from y/n’s phone late that afternoon, well after all classes were long over. They had been talking for the last ten minutes, and the topic of what had happened had just been brought up. From his side of the call, Xiaojun saved his assignment - of which he was already ahead in - and leaned back in his chair. He had been there for y/n when the breakup happened, spent days comforting his long-term close friend, and had some choice opinions of his own when it came to the fellow 99-liner. 

“Yeah! I think he was reading a book or something, but I didn’t see it. Anyway - my point; this bastard actually wanted to talk to me. He grabbed my fucking wrist and everything; something about wanting to ‘apologise’.” Y/n answered, her phone on speaker as she set about making herself a hot chocolate. She’d get to her research assignment after telling her best friend what had happened. First order of business? Getting herself a drink.

“Wow…” Dejun started, the disbelief loud, “after the crap he put you through, it took him this long to want to apologise?” He asked, putting his own phone on speaker as he stood out of his chair to get a water bottle. The conversation stayed like that for the next half an hour; both talking about one topic after another, all seeming to revolve around y/n’s painful break up. It had been less than a week after y/n’s birthday when Yeonjun had decided that he wanted to end their two-year relationship, a fake cold exterior as he left her alone in the silence of her own apartment that night. Y/n never went to sleep afterwards, burying herself in work as she let the tears fall down her face freely, only praying that the end of the year could come any faster. Each day had dragged on at a snail’s pace though, each hour feeling three times as long as she tried avoiding the cause of her pain. It was those six weeks before her second year in university that she found her mercy, going on a three-week trip to London with Xiaojun and a couple others in their friendship circle. Tears were shed, alcohol was consumed and heart-to-hearts were had. By the time y/n had returned to Seoul, she was on track to healing the wound in her heart.

 At the end of their mini venting session, the question that was really hanging in the air was whether y/n should even bother hearing Yeonjun out. But it seemed as though fate was eavesdropping on the pair’s conversation, because a knock at the door after y/n had hung up on her phone call immediately grabbed her attention. There was no way Xiaojun could have been at the door, otherwise the university student would have heard it across the call. Walking up to the door with a minute sense of apprehension, y/n looked through the peephole and audibly groaned. Massaging her temples out of frustration, she opened the door, arms folded as she stared him dead in the eye.

“What are you doing here? Don’t you have your own mess of an apartment to get to?” She questioned, watching her ex walk in with a raised brow.

“I told you, I needed to talk to you. Please y/n, just one last time, hear me out. I beg of you.” 

And despite her resentment, that’s what she did.

There was no level of regret or guilt that could describe just how apologetic Yeonjun was feeling as he spoke, each syllable a thorn on his tongue. He had avoided the glare in y/n’s expression as he tried explaining his point of view, but it was clear that it really was Yeonjun who had brought it upon himself. His actions, his callous behaviour led to where they were now; sat in y/n’s apartment while he desperately tried to repair a burned down bridge with nothing more than pretty words.

 Having forced herself to sit through Yeonjun’s failed attempts at winning some semblance of friendship, y/n stood up, not in any mood to hear his voice any more. “You know what the real issue is with you?”

“What, what  is it..?”

“You’re pathetically entitled.” Y/n started, looking everywhere but the man sitting on her sofa in front of her. “Two years, Yeonjun. Two fucking years and you decide to break up with me in front of my family while we were on video - humiliate me - and give me no reason. You erased me from your life even though you knew damn well we meant something.  And suddenly now you decide that ‘Oh, I need y/n back’?” 

“Y/n-ah, I’m - I’m sorry, I was a coward, I- I wanted an easy way out…” A ‘tch’ coming from y/n at his poor attempt at an excuse, she said nothing as she went to the apartment door and opened it.

“Get out. If I see you come to my door again Choi I will call the police.” His head hung low, Yeonjun complied; putting his shoes back on and walking out in shame. Flinching when he heard the slam of the door behind him, the broken man made the journey home by foot, too ashamed to feel the need to take the bus. 

From inside her apartment, y/n reached for her phone. She needed to spend the night somewhere else.

Y/n: Mind if I stay the night?

Dejun: No problem, you’ve already got some of your own stuff here.

Y/n: Thanks Jun

As she left her apartment, there was one question on her mind. One that put into question exactly how she had dealt with the situation;

She wasn’t being too callous with Yeonjun, was she?

YinYin did not enjoy award shows. 

It too often involved short skirts, extended periods of sitting with nothing to do, the screaming of crowds, and, given the size of NCT, they were often split up in seating.

Which was how she found herself now. Sitting on the row of benches in front of the rest of NCT, struggling to keep her legs together and prevent her skirt from riding up. There were fans standing everywhere below the artists’ platform, and one slip up from her and they’d see everything.

“Yin?” Someone hissed.

She turned, finding Mark and Taeyong, the two closest members, leaning down to talk to her.

“Are you okay?” Mark asked, patting his legs to symbolize her skirt.

She nodded with a tight smile. “Yeah, it’s all good. We’re only here until our performance, anyways.”

“You want my jacket?” Taeyong offered, already starting to shrug out of it. Given that they were in the male artists section, there was a shortage of resources to cover her legs.

It was chilly in the venue, so she shook her head. “I’m fine, really.”

“If you’re sure.” He looked unconvinced. “Let us know if you need anything.”

“Will do.” She turned back to the stage as Twice’s performance began to set up.

She was so focused on watching Twice try not to wipe out on the slippery stage that she almost didn’t notice when a figure plopped down next to her.

“There we go, that should cover both of us.” Someone spread a blanket across her lap, scooting close to share.

YinYin turned, finding herself face to face with the only female member of Stray Kids, Tori.

“Hi.” She said, a little shocked at how close she was.

“Hi!” Tori beamed. “Sorry, I saw Mark freaking out so I made Jisung switch seats with me because I think I - Oh my gosh Momo almost slipped - I think I have the only blanket on this side of the venue. It’s so inconsiderate to not have them everywhere, don’t you think? Male idols get cold to and I really don’t feel like showing everyone what I have under this skirt, you feel me?”

“Ummm...” YinYin blinked.

“Oh right,” Tori shook her head and extended her hand in for a greeting. “Sorry, I’m Tori. I sometimes forget that I don’t already know people when I’ve seen so many of their videos. You’re YinYin, yeah?”

“Uh, yes.” YinYin carefully shook her hand. “Nice to meet you.”

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to talk to Tori, it was just that she was so incredibly disarmed by the situation.

Tori was incredibly pretty, not in a supermodel type of way, but like the friendliest girl next door that every male idol would have a crush on. Her face was spread into a bright smile, her kind eyes sparkling, and a spattering of freckles across her nose that were barely concealed by her makeup. She was wearing a strapless black dress, with the hemline hidden under the blanket that they shared. YinYin realized that she was mixed, and somehow recalled Mark saying that Tori was Canadian. Not that you could tell, because she babbled in Korean like someone who had spoken the language for years.

“Nice to meet you too.” Tori turned back to the stage. “Sorry if this is weird. I just thought I could share. I can switch back if you-”

“No.” YinYin smiled. “It’s kind of nice to have some company.”

“I know, right?” Tori smiled, happy to have finally found common ground. “They always make us sit in the guys section. And I mean, I love my boys but sometime I want to talk to other girls.”

“I know what you mean.” YinYin laughed. “I can only sit next to Lucas for so long, so it’s nice to be with someone else.”

“Lucas...the tall one?” Tori held a hand up to fully illustrate that he was, in fact, tall.

“Yeah. He’s very chatty.”

“Oh, but I am too!” Tori held a hand to her chest. “Do you not like that?”

“No, no! It’s nice coming from someone else.” YinYin promised. 

“Thank goodness.” Tori sighed. “I have to be honest, I’m not the best at making friends.”

“What?” YinYin blinked. “That can’t be true.”

“It is! Most of the time it’s chance. Like right now, because I wanted to share my blanket.” She gave a firm nod. “Solidarity, or whatever.”

“I really do appreciate it, I was sure I’d slip up and show everyone my - jeez did they grease the stage or something?” YinYin gasped as Dahyun’s feet scrambled for balance.

“They’re wearing heels too.” Tori shook her head. “I can barely walk in these things.” She kicked her leg forward, showing off a pair of black stilettos.

“Tell me about it.” YinYin laughed, showing off her own silver heels. “At least they don’t make me dance in them. I have way too many flips for that.”

“Flips.” Tori blinked once, before her face lit up into a grin. “You guys are performing later, right? Will we get to see- “ Almost as quickly as she’d smiled, a frown graced her face. “But it’s so slippery, you could fall and hurt yourself.”

“We might change up the routine.” YinYin reassured her. “I had one really bad fall on a slippery stage so now we take out my flips if it’s dangerous.”

“Oh, good.” Tori sighed in relief. “I was nervous. I-”

“You guys okay down there?”

They both turned around to face Mark and Taeyong.

“Hi, guys!” Tori gave a friendly wave.

YinYin’s mouth dropped as both boys actually blushed.

“Hey, Tori.” Mark gave a small smile. “Having fun?”

“Oh yeah.” Tori linked arms with YinYin. “I’ve replaced you.”

“What? I thought we were bros for life.” He complained.

Yinnie laughed, leaning closer to Tori and deciding to play along. “Well, now we’re bros for life.”

“But we-”

“Shhh...” YinYin hushed them. “Watch the show.”

They girls turned away, giggling to themselves as they left the boys speechless.

“I miss hanging out with other girls.” YinYin sighed, gesturing to where Twice was beginning to perform Feel Special, “I totally should’ve been in a girl group. Good conversation, nice outfits, not falling into the toilet because -”

“Someone forgot to put the seat down!” Tori exclaimed. “Is that like a universal thing? Urgh, last time it happened I threw Seungmin’s toothbrush in the toilet as punishment.”

“Boys are the worst.” YinYin sighed.

“Yeah.” Tori sighed too.

Still, both of them were fully aware that they wouldn’t change anything about their groups.

“We should hang out sometime.” Tori suggested. “You could teach me one of your flips.”

“Sure. You’re a dancer, right? It shouldn’t be too hard.”

“It’s a date then.” Tori smiled.

“I’ve got all of the free time,” YinYin added. “None of my groups are promoting right now.

“None of your-” Tori trailed off, blinking rapidly. Her mouth parted just a little bit, before she looked at YinYin, excitement on her face.

“You’d fit so well, but you’re already in SuperM, but you’d get along so well with Zo and it’d be so-”

“Um, Tori?” YinYin waved her hand in front of the other girl’s face. “Are you okay?”

Tori ignored her, reaching down to pat TXT’s Soobin on the shoulder.

“Soobin, can you switch seats with Sara?” Tori asked when he turned to look at her.

“Uh, sure.” He stood, shuffling to the other end of their bench. Sara looked confused, until she spotted Tori, and stood to switch. Another girl who was unfairly beautiful, Sara had luckily been dressed in a long skirt with a tight long-sleeve top, making her look effortlessly elegant as she lowered herself into the seat in front of them. “Hey, Tor.” She smiled. “YinYin, right?”

“Yeah, it’s nice to-”

“Soo-ji, I think I found our girl.” Tori exclaimed.

“What?”

“For...” She looked around, before talking through her teeth in an effort to be discreet. “Zoey’s little project.”

“What project?” YinYin asked.

The other girls ignored her.

Sara studied her. “She is a good dancer, and could balance out Sumi and I.”

“Sumi? Why is Sumi-”

“And she’s super nice too.” Tori grinned. “And we were told to make our own friend and I did it.”

Sara thought for a long moment, before nodding. “We should run it by Zoey and Sumi, but I think it’ll be fine.”

“Can someone tell me what’s going on?” YinYin begged.

“Did you not tell her?” Sara gave Tori a scolding look, before turning back to YinYin. “We’re kind of in the process of making a girls’ supergroup. And due to...unforeseen circumstances we need a new member. And Tori just found you.

“Found me?”

“Like an abandoned kitten.” Tori hugged YinYin’s arm. “Please, please please? Just come out and talk to the others. They’ll love you and then we can all be in a group together.”

“A group.” YinYin swallowed. On one hand, she was already in a super group, but on the other hand, she’d never really had a chance to promote with other girls before. And Zoey was one of Kpop’s most legendary performers. 

Plus, Tori didn’t really seem like she planned on taking no for an answer.

“Sure.” She said finally. “What’s the harm in meeting with them?”

“Yay!” Tori clapped her hands. “This is going to be awesome. Do you like bubble tea?”

“Wha- I...yes?”

“Great.” Tori gave Sara a little kick with her foot. “I hope you like fun flavours because Soo-ji is boring.”

“I like simple flavours.” Sara protested. “Your drinks are confusing.”

“Fun.” Tori corrected. “YinYin, what kind of bubble tea do you like?”

This felt like a test.

“Um, I like the green tea ones.”

Tori grimaced, and Sara smiled.

“I like her.” Sara decided. “We can keep her.”

How could you make a list of K-pop acts to watch and not include LOONA? Still only two singles into their career, with their lead single sitting pretty with a casual couple hundred million streams, 2019 belongs to ITZY.

PENTAGON

For fans of K-pop, chances are you have heard the undeniable bop that is PENTAGON’s “Shine.” For those of you who are still getting your toes wet with the world’s fastest-growing genre, PENTAGON is an infectious fusion of electronic and pop aesthetics guaranteed to get stuck in your head. 2019 has seen the boy band make major spades with the release of their comeback mini-album Genie:us and the announcement of their first world tour. 

  (G)I-DLE

South Korean multinational girl group (G)I-DLE may very well be the future of not only K-pop, but pop as a whole. After all, how many groups, K-pop or otherwise, can say they have a number one Billboard single, which was then performed live as a part of an augmented reality experience? Well, Miyeon and Soyeon, two of (G)I-DLE’s members who, alongside Madison Beer and Jaira Burns, also makeup pop megagroup K/DA, certainly can.

Stray Kids

Inspired by the likes of Bruno Mars and Big Bang and taking ample direction from dance music and high-spirted rapping, Stray Kids’ music is nothing short of adrenaline-pumping. The South Korean boy band originally found their start on the reality television show of the same name, where the challenge was for a group of trainees to work towards the goal of debuting together. Spoiler alert: they survived and are currently killing it in the K-pop scene.

ATEEZ

With the release of TREASURE EP.1: All to Zero, K-pop boy band ATEEZ debuted and officially gave birth to their fandom, known as ATINY. And in less than a year since debuting, ATEEZ has gone on to release their comeback EP, TREASURE EP.2 Zero To One and sell out a tour across North America and Europe. An indisputably promising new boyband on the scene, ATEEZ is one to watch out for in the year to come.

SEVENTEEN

What’s better than a K-pop heartthrob? How about 13 K-pop heartthrobs? We are guessing those were the exact words uttered when forming K-pop supergroup SEVENTEEN. Comprised of three subunits, who all vary in their area of specification, SEVENTEEN has gained a unique reputation in the world of K-pop and not just for their large numbers. The boyband is one of the few self-producing idol groups, with multiple members having an active hand in crafting their certified bops.

TWICE

We’ll say it once, we’ll say it twice, “TWICE is the next BLACKPINK.” The K-pop girl group has already been nominated for over 175 awards in Asia and Europe, and it only feels like a matter of time until they start racking up the same type of recognition stateside. And that’s more than just mere hyperbole, as the group is currently in the midst of their first ever world tour, including major stops in Los Angeles and Chicago.

IZ*ONE

IZ*ONE is currently one of the most promising rookie groups on the scene right now. In the comment section of their videos, which rack up views in the tens of millions, it will come as no surprise to see a legion of comments touting this “monster rookie” group. It’s not just their growing army of fans either, with the group winning multiple “Rookie of the Year” awards at multiple Asian award ceremonies and seeing their debut EP La Vie en Rose and the titular lead single chart on the Billboard World Albums and World Digital Songs charts respectively.

(but i think it’s listed somewhere on your blog tho i’ll check it out after i send this)

ah yes. those three bring in a lot of fans 🤣 maybe thats why sm put them in the first unit that promoted for nct 2020. strategy worked tho, felt the fandom grow bigger. shotaro edits devastate me whenever they pop up on the tl but i don’t see them often. and come to think of it, i have never seen a soft johnny edit.

spicy genres 😭 i am definitely NOT worthy of that title. but if there’s a specific type of nct fic that you would want to read, i might be able to give you recommendations. oh why would you want to wipe them ☹️☹️ save a copy somewhere at least, you might regret completely erasing them.

and SEUNGMIN. the biggest threat to my loyalty to bang chan. that man just devastates me every. single. time. something about him just makes me go all soft 😔 i had a whole rollercoaster seungmin phase last december bc i subscribed to his bubble and he was active as hell EXCEPT on christmas week. and i got sad bc he didn’t send a greeting..? care to share how it became seungmin for you?

also yes! get into cpop. i personally don't find their '4th gen' music (basically the new generation of kpop knockoffs) good because of its horrendous english grammar, but their music isn't mind blowing or anything anyways. i would recommend some ballads though, chinese ballads will remain superior forever.shotaro supremacy! i fell for him before i even started stanning nct, that says so much. and yes, ive watched his relay cam and fan cams multiple times, way before i stanned too haha. hes honestly so likeable.

speaking of nct units coming back and skz, hot sauce just happened but we already have a 127 drop. i didnt think id see hyuck and mork in there D': give them a break sm. once again, title track isnt my taste at all, but maybe ill grow to like it after a few listens. ive surprisingly become a fan of hot sauce though. the hook and jaemins intro are super addicitng. 

stray kids world domination too! i didnt watch kingdom because im not available during the airing time but i streamed and looked at their performances and i have to say, no personal bias or anything, skz deserved that win :3 its all in good fun though, atz and tbz caught my eye and i might try getting into them in the near future hehe.

my ults are izone, skz, txt and enha! (i think you probably saw them already haha). my bias ults are jake and wonyoung. to be honest, with the amount of dream content im consuming daily, i think they might become one of my ults soon. argh i really want to write for them though.

no no your fics look so unique and spicy grrr. im really excited to read them! theyre different from typical fanfiction and im a sucker for that. hmm for recommendations, honestly anything sfw and fluffy is fine, i tend to love writing angst but im a sucker for reading fluff. ive been binging on lvdsc's works actually, so amazing argh. as for my works, ill probably private them...or move blogs? im still thinking about it.

skz bubbles! ah theyre always so fun on the app, did seungmin say anything interesting? as for how he became my bias, the memory's hazy but i think it was because i was looking at those september celebration videos (for han, seungmin and lix all together (?)) and just kind of fell for his gahs and his vlives. seungmin vlives are always so fun and relaxing, i like to do homework to them. especially that one vlive where he sang for 4 hours, that just made me fall in love with him more.
