so hades 2. apparently Odysseus broke up with his wife after confessing he slept with Circe which is so funny to me cause if happened posthumously. imagine being Penelope and u see ur husband again in the after life and hes like "hey babe mmmmm i have to tell u something..." and its that a) he cheated and b) had a bastard son and then u break up. and ure both dead. no Asterius or Theseus yet tho. Elysium is barred off and we dunno if its cause we havent gotten there yet of if its just not available in early access. but anyway we think Penelope and Odysseus being broken up is an extra point for Argo being able to do unspeakable things to Ody. if we ever get info on ur guys we will update u on them♡
Aw that's a little sad 😭 especially bc the whole thing with Circe was a mess (as far as I remember it's been years since I read the Oddessy 💔). I wonder if Penelope herself will make an appearance.... Either way I'm glad Argo can take this opportunity to shoot his shot that old man is single and ready to mingle 🙏🏾
I wouldn't be surprised if Elysium just isn't available right now on early access, considering it was implemented in the original game way later on too! I saw some art taken from the files that featured some characters that Presumably would be in Elysium somewhere, but some of it was still in an unfinished state 😱 there's one character that that'll likely be there that I'm kinda eager to see (even tho I'm also Sad bc I made an OC based off the same guy. But now he has a canon counterpart 😔)
Spoiler below if u wanna see who I'm talking about though 😭 I don't think he's in the early access itself yet (could be wrong though!)
Heracles!!! He's Theseus' cousin which gives me some hope Theseus himself might show up 🙏🏾

Edit: after posting this i learned that he Is in the early access 😭

🏖️!!
🏖 - What would a beach date with your f/o look like? This one was hard to find at first cuz my laptop turned it into a text symbol 😭 anyways <3
I've actually been thinking about this a lot with summer coming up... I didn't grow up in an area with a lot of water, so I've rarely gotten the chance to go swimming 😭 i don't even think I have a swimsuit right now </3 The thing about Theseus and Asterius though, is that despite the fact that both of them grew up near water (Theseus near Troezen's coast, and Asterius living on an island), neither of them are great swimmers 😭 Asterius has more of an excuse for it than Theseus though, of course. It would end up being less water based and more combing the beach for seashells and sea glass and making cute sandcastles ^.^ I keep having a visual of Dia and Theseus jumping into a (shallower!) area of the water together while holding hands... and Asterius with his snout and horns poking out of the water while Dia is laying on his back <3

i just recently found out about the beach fic, absolutely loved it, read the whole thing twice in more or less one week and looked through your tag for more lore (your writing is glorious). Anything about Theseus has me cackling and god i'd love to know what went through his head the minute he found out the new mailman he ranted to about Charon was actually dating him or just how he found out in general
Thank you so much! And also I think I’ve talked about this before, but I can’t be fucked to find it, and imma do it again but this time I’m gunna summarize the short I had toyed with writing about this exact topic. I’m going to put it under a read more cause it’s a little spicy. If you don’t want to read it, tl;dr Theseus catches them banging in Charon’s car and gets extremely pissed about it.
a year or so after the events of beach fic, Charon and Hermes are invited to some formal charity thing in Elysium by Nyx and, as such, need to dress up. They're getting ready at Hermes' place and Hermes gets out of the shower just in time as Charon is finishing doing up his tie. He sneaks up on his 'professional associate', wraps his arms around him from behind, and suggests that they forgo the event so he can enjoy Charon in a suit in the privacy of his own home.
Charon finds this funny and lets him cop a feel for a bit, before pushing his off and telling him to finish getting ready unless he wants to be on Nyx's shit list for the next seven years or so. Hermes grumbles about it, but agrees and leaves to put on more than a towel. Charon figures that'll be the end of it until they get back home, but finds that his resolve might not be so ironclad when Hermes is all dressed up and he sees how very well-fitted his dress pants are. On top of this, Hermes notices his partner's appreciative eye and lingering touches as they get in the car, and cooks up a plan to get Charon to break before they get back home.
They get to the thing, it's boring, and Charon's having a rough time of it. Hermes is being flirty and touchy, and at dinner, he's playing footsie and constantly reminding Charon that they could be anywhere else, doing anything else right now. Charon sticks it out, even if he's being reciprocal until Nyx practically shoos them out of the event stating that she's taken enough of their time. It’s clear she’s annoyed and more or less suggests they aren’t as subtle or covert as they think and so they leave, a bit ashamed but not really deterred.
Back in the car as they drive home, Hermes has redoubled his efforts, kissing and touching whatever part of Charon he can, suggesting they pull over. Charon makes it all of five minutes before he does just that, parking them a little down a rarely used back road and hauling a victorious, amorous Hermes into the back seat. They get down to business, and, unfortunately, are little too preoccupied to notice the police car pulling up besides them a little bit later.
Theseus, who was patrolling for the evening and genuinely stressed about Asterius’ (the guy Theseus may or may not have gotten sent to prison on faulty evidence as the start of his career) upcoming parole hearing, sees what seems to be an abandoned vehicle just off a side road that wasn’t there an hour before. He goes to investigate to take his mind off of things considering its a boring weekday night and there’s not much going on, but lo and behold, what does he see as he pulls up with his lights off? That’s right, it’s Styx Beach’s own mailman riding Theseus’ favorite bootlegger in the backseat of Charon’s car and the good sheriff goes through a range of emotions from confusion to betrayal to anger in the span of 7 seconds.
He gives them a lengthy earful once they’re decent, forgets he can technically arrest them for indecent exposure, gives them a ticket, and follows them until they hit Styx Beach, absolutely fuming the entire time. Hermes goes from being the ‘good Olympus boy’ to getting pulled over for every minor infraction if Theseus sees him and earns quite a few interesting nicknames from the sheriff regarding his supposed sexual proclivities. Surprisingly, Theseus still doesn’t make the connection that Hermes could be aiding the sale of alcohol, but he’s a little focused on the fact that he caught Hermes in the exact position he’s wanted to be in for like 6 years now.
Hermes does quite a bit of apologizing since it was embarrassing, and it could’ve ended worse, and it jeopardized the deliveries he still does for Charon, and he did egg his partner on pretty harshly. Charon’s genuinely mad for maybe two days, if that, but they talk through it and it eventually becomes more funny than it was embarrassing. Plus, as part of his penance, Hermes keeps dropping off sweets from the cafe with little affectionate notes and Charon isn’t complaining about a week straight of getting surprise baked goods with his mail.
For Theseus, he never gets over it, always thinks of Hermes as an interfering harlot and a Jezebel, even after Theseus gets together with Asterius, and always lets the mailman know his open and clear disdain every chance he gets.

ALL THE HADES OCS
OH HERE WE GOOOO~ (gonna put most of this under a cut, because it'll get long) Momus: Sexuality HC: Gay. He thinks he's bi at this point in the RP, but he is gay.
Favorite ship(s): Momus/Heracles, obvs, but I also like Momus/Morpheus and the awful Momus/Theseus stuff as well
Brotp: Momus, Hypnos & Icarus
Notp: Uhhh... Momus/Asterius?
Happy HC: Momus thrives in the modern era and has basically been waiting his whole existence to live in this time period so he can drive everyone mad by becoming a memelord. I also love describing his awful outfits too much.
Angsty HC: Nyx never acknowledges him and this hurts him more than he admits.
Random HC: If he existed in the actual game, he'd be a character who screws over the player late into a run (probably only spawning from Elysium onwards). He takes any perks you've gotten from gods and makes it so instead of doing plus the base damage, it does minus the base damage (although obvs caps before ur doing no damage at all). Because I'd want players to reeeally hate him. Like "I was doing so well, but then I ran into Momus and he ruined it!" Seems fitting for the God of Mockery.
General opinion: I am highkey obsessed with Momus in a way that I've never been this invested in one of my own OCs before. How dare he do this to me. OKAY, EVERYONE ELSE UNDER THE CUT:
Heracles: Sexuality HC: Bi, also a furry
Favorite ship(s): Momus/Heracles again, though I love how soft he is for Morpheus in the recent RPs
Brotp: I feel like him and Icarus could be this once they know each other better
Notp: I mean, there's a lotta ppl who deserve better than this guy
Happy HC: Like, you've already set him on this path of awesome character development to the point that I actually want good things for him for the first time. I hope that the clown parade have an excellent world tour together and that he can start to trust himself again.
Angsty HC: His canon is angsty enough
Random HC: He has a preference for twinks, whether he wants to admit it or not.
General opinion: I can't believe you've made me stan Heracles now. He's shot up my fave characters roster. The banter that him and Momus has is top tier, but then the genuinely emotional moments between them hit just as hard. You can actually see how much they've been through together and how, now they've got their feelings out in the open, they genuinely love each other and want this to work. UGHHH I LOVE THEM Pasithea: Sexuality HC: I mean, she's your OC, but I assume she's bi
Favorite ship(s): Pasithea/Oizys
Brotp: Pasithea & Zagreus
Notp: None really? Even after everything, I don't really dislike Pasithea/Momus, although it's best they both realised that wouldn't have worked out
Happy HC: She becomes queen and everyone respect her like they should!
Angsty HC: Her whole situation with Thanatos and that she didn't get the closure she deserved.
Random HC: She do be liking them goths tho
General opinion: I love Pasi! I think she's just as much the main character as Momus is at this stage and I'm glad that her whole arc showed her giving the middle finger to everyone who oppressed her and coming out on top. Morpheus: Sexuality HC: I honestly don't know :0
Favorite ship(s): Momus/all of his simps (Icarus, Momus & Heracles)
Brotp: They only had that one short scene, but I like Morpheus & Pluteus
Notp: None yet
Happy HC: He gets to travel the world and everyone simps him like he deserves
Angsty HC: There has been enough angst in this man's life. The time for angst is over.
Random HC: He is an unsuitable replacement for owning a thesaurus and should not be used in such a way.
General opinion: Another top favourite! I love the directions you've gone in with him, the whole "he's a doll come to life so Pasithea and Hypnos could cheat the Fates and not have kids" angle is brilliant and he's definitely a character who I'm always keen to see what will happen to him next. Icarus: Sexuality HC: bisexual and sweaty
Favorite ship(s): Icarus/Morpheus and Icarus/Momus so far
Brotp: Icarus, Momus & Hypnos, also potentially Icarus & Heracles
Notp: Icarus/Zagreus LMAOOO
Happy HC: He might not be an inventor, but he eventually finds his true calling in being a technician and becomes incredibly successful with his skills for improving upon inventions that have already been made.
Angsty HC: He's fuckin icarus. everyone knows that story lol
Random HC: His whole existence is one big joke that Momus will never stop laughing at.
General opinion: He's still finding his feet as a character, but I have high hopes for Icarus and think we'll get a lot of mileage out of him. Oizys: Sexuality HC: Obstinately gay
Favorite ship(s): Oizys/Pasithea
Brotp: I mean, she had a good friendship with Pluteus before the timeskip, so hopefully she still does
Notp: Oizys/Pluteus as a romo ship
Happy HC: God I hope she can be happy someday.
Angsty HC: She's not as co-dependent as she claims to be and played up needing Momus's help when they were growing up so that he wouldn't leave her.
Random HC: Oizys gets a slight kick out of the concepts she's goddess of, but doesn't realise when they overwhelm her.
General opinion: It's complicated, but I want to hope she figures it all out. Pluteus: Sexuality HC: Ace/Aro
Favorite ship(s): Maybe they'll figure it out with Aphrodite again one day
Brotp: Pluteus & Oizys, also Pluteus & Pasithea is funny
Notp: Pluteus & depression
Happy HC: Pluteus is happy to be a terrible actor who believes that they're a great actor.
Angsty HC: I feel like there's a sense of not being fulfilled inside Pluteus, but they don't want to address it.
Random HC: Pluteus will always refer to Pasithea as their mother, whether she likes it or not. Sorry Pasi.
General opinion: I like Pluteus as the occasional support character and they're excellent for comic relief, but they're one character who I don't think needs to be part of a bigger story. ...Okay, so there's also Daedalus, Nemesis, Eris and a few others, but I think that I've covered most of the ones who've had a lot of focus for now? Let me know if I missed anyone :0

Finally got around to playing Hades (2018)
Finished my second run the other day (back to back with my first win BABY! ....Pobably gonna be a while before I manage that again...) and I will be mostly avoiding the tags because for once I legit really don’t want to be spoiled for anything. I want to learn about these characters and their stories myself.
THAT BEING SAID, expect a bunch of Minotaur art to start showing up on this blog, because Asterius and Thanatos live rent-free in my brain 24/7, and I’ve only really gotten to know one of them yet. And this beefy cowboy deserves the world.
And, yknow. I guess that means Theseus gets to be here too, since they’re like... a package deal and all. Anything for you, Asterius.

just after getting (slightly unexpectedly) back into Ava’s Demon in September due to its Reborn Kickstarter, now I’ve gotten (more unexpectedly) into the Hades game.
I say unexpected because while 2-3 weeks ago my twitter TL filled with fanart for it but nobody talked about the gameplay I thought it was like... a visual novel or dating game lol. Then I found out it was a roguelike, then I found out what a roguelike actually is and decided that it looked like a great game but not for me bc of the genre. Then @vanoodle told me about it and another friend I met later let me play it on her switch and now I’m unexpectedly HOOKED because the gameplay is actually great fun even for me and it’s designed in a way that makes dying and restarting all over REWARDING instead of frustrating?? genius. Love everything about it, gameplay, dialogue, music, designs, did I mention dialogue??, replayability, characters
Anyway, you probably want to know how I’m doing at it too, so here:
took about 4 attempts to get past Meg
took about 8 attempts to get past Bone Hydra
took about uuuh a few more tries to get past Asterius bc he always popped up as a miniboss an destroyed me (he wasn’t that difficult but I had crap boon synergies until then)
first defeated Asterius (+ Theseus) when I first entered the stadium thing on attempt 20 +/- 1 and got up to Hades but he demolished me
think I’m on 25 and got up to Hades 2 more times only bc I was grinding materials and looking up dumb ways to die becaaaause...
I love Hypnos’ commentary on your return but he??? only appears like 2/3 o the time MAX? HYPNOS!! Bro what are you even doing where are you
the only thing I dislike about this game is how often characters I want to talk to just... aren’t there when I return like Achilles and Hypnos especially
I’ve only encountered Thanatos 2 times so far
my only opinion on him is that he’s Underworld Miles Edgeworth ig?
faves (in Hades) are Eurydice, Hypnos, Nyx, Chaos, Charon and also Achilles, Patroclus and Sysiphus I’m always happy to see even if they didn’t give me useful stuff or lore
fave Olympians are HERMES, Dionysus, Artemis... Zeus always makes me laugh too
fave cause of death was a “pick a god and pray” room where I had to decide between Artemis and Dionysus, picked Artie and actually got demolished by Dionysus and his reaction was like “oh man now I eel bad, maaaaan what HAPPENED there!?” and I cackled and Zagreus crawled out of Styx and ALSO laughed
Hypnos is never there to give me an epic Top-10-Epic-Fails recap on my most interesting deaths :(
love the spear, also the gauntlets (not surprising) and the bow. The shield is more fun than I expected. Sword is okay and the rail is... difficult.
anyway, I still haven’t gotten out of Hades just YET but I think I’ll be soon.

I know they're minor characters overall just existing as a boss battle and so we the players don't learn much about them in canon but Theseus and Asterius genuinely mean so so so so much to me 😭 choosing to be a better person but not being perfect and falling into some old bad habits but it doesn't necessarily negate the progress you've made (Theseus) .... And Asterius finding joy in his death and being with someone who understands him and nurtures him and the parts of him that are maybe a bit unusual- you'd think with all he's been thru he'd have a sorta aversion to violence but I think being in control of the sort of play - violence of the arena is genuinely very good for him, being able to control his own strength and how he uses it is another way to show how far he's come too. And I love that they have one another - I love that Theseus feels genuinely understood by someone with such an unconventional upbringing and vice versa. I love that despite what little of them we actually know there's still so much and so much to love about them both. I love that after dedicating almost 4 years of my life to them I still have a lot to say about them and write about them and I never get tired of it either, because they inspired me every day and I mean that 🫶🏾 it's silly but there's so much I would've never done if not for them... I would've never gotten more interested in writing, for one, and when I was first introduced to them I was genuinely ready to just give up on art entirely because of how depressed I'd been. I still know why it was that Theseus and Asterius made me want to start drawing again but I am eternally grateful towards them for it. They were all I drew for nearly a year...! I don't draw them as frequently anymore - but I want to get back to it someday. It feels so natural to at this point....
Umm idk where I'm going with this 🫶🏾 they genuinely do mean the world to me though

Fallout au was a ride, you're so damned good at writing FEELINGS and doing clever wrap ups of themes n such. I gotta ask tho, cause I'm dying to know, what is Thesus' reaction when Hermes and Charon show up again after all that?
Thank you so much ;3;
And Theseus is remorseful and out of his mind with guilt. He’s not the same cold Brotherhood of Steel Paladin he used to be, and what once could have been an easy bargain for him to make and move past now weighs heavily on him, especially after seeing the effects of his actions. He may not like Hermes or see him as 'part of the town' but key members of the community DO and Hermes' wellbeing isn't his to bargain with.
I like the idea that in the meantime, Theseus has gone to Nyx for the first time in his tenure in Asphodel. He views her as a charlatan at the best of times but he's alway supposed that was par for the course with the zombies. Its something he's gotten into arguments about with Asterius who seeks advice from the psyker, having been well-acquainted with people of such capabilities during his time in Unity.
But Theseus finds he needs answers to assuage his guilt, and Charon hasn't come back in five days, so he goes to the only person who may have some. Nyx is her usual apathetic self but clearly unhappy with the visit and, when asked, is forthcoming about Hermes being alive. She also chews him out for such a rash, unnecessary decision, gives him an earful about his treatment of the post-human residents in her town, and all but threatens to have him thrown into the arena bare-fisted with the albino deathclaw if he so much as even thinks about toeing over the line again.
Despite the assurance Hermes is alive, it's still difficult to believe his eyes when he sees the barge. Hermes isn't only fine, he's completely unscathed, not a single injury or bruise to be found. Since it's only been a week and a half since his run with Ares and given Charon's demeanor on that night, one would have to assume something terrible happened, especially if Charon had killed the man in response.
Theseus is almost simpering when Hermes passes by him to go into the gate, asking how he is and if he had a good trip, trying to placate and play off his transgressions in hope Hermes doesn't know. Hermes is understandably pissed but ignores Theseus, brushing past him on his way to find Asterius, intent on making sure he knows what happened.
Once found, Asterius reveals that after seeing Charon carting off Ares' body, Theseus admitted what he had done, the guilt over the matter too much for his pride. While Asterius was irate and disappointed that Theseus seemed to so flippantly bargain away his friend's well-being, he's possibly the most understanding person in this regard. As awful as Theseus thinking was in a moral sense, they've both made worse decisions in the name of their past loyalties, and, after a day of heavy thought, Asterius cannot reasonably assume he wouldn't have done something similar or the same if he had been the one approached.
Of course, there are consequences. Theseus will continue to hold the title of captain of the guard, but that is entirely symbolic as all actual leadership duties are left entirely to Asterius. It's too valuable for the rumor mill and the safety of the town to have an ex-Brotherhood with working power armor leading the guard, and in the sake of optics, he will remain as such. But now all shift changes and orders will come from Asterius.
Things don't go back to normal for a few months as Theseus leaves Hermes and Charon to their own devices, even going so far as to let Hermes out of jail without much fuss when Meg catches his being a nuisance. He never really apologizes or even mentions what happened, hoping it'll just be forgotten in time as he honestly doesn't feel like he owes either of them that much, even if he does feel guilty. On top of this, Zagreus keeps going missing, and Theseus and Asterius are both tasked with finding him each time, so with the added work, Theseus, Charon, and Hermes go about their lives ignoring each other and no one is complaining about that.
....until Theseus spies a more romantic moment between the two late one night, and goes right back to his petty, thirsty, jealous bullshit like nothing had even happened whenever he's not hunting for the mayor's son. So Charon gets maybe three months of not being bothered, but all good things must come to an end eventually.
