Arknights Chapter XIII - The Whirlpool That Is Passion (Part V)

ALSO, a reminder that I am currently waiting for the new event, so perhaps I am going to move through the story of that before finishing Chapter 13 here. I already got through all the levels, so I need to just read the story. HOWEVER, since this is also a Leithanien event and that means I AM A WINNER (together with Dr. Lundi who is cuffing Arturia to herself to make sure she doesn't run amock), there will be an update about the pulls later.

I was not here for the R6 Siege event where they explained the entire problem with corpses of Infected, and those who did not really notice what was happening with Frostnova at the time couldn't have possibly known either.

The horrifying part about this conversation is the realization that they were lied to: The troops heard explosions, and crackling, the same as the one they are hearing here, but they were told that it was just artillery.

In reality, this is the sound that the bodies begin making when they are ready to erupt. Well... Erupt is not a good word. Explode is an option, but that's too gruesome to imagine. Basically, the bodies of the infected proceed to deteriorate and the sickness spreads so quickly that it becomes unstable, and the way that Oripathy spreads further is by disintegrating the victim into a cloud of originium particles.

This makes it impossible for this body to stay so close to camp being a health hazard for those that have survived and are recuperating. Unfortunately, I feel like they will have to be sent away.

But it's fascinating to see it MENTIONED finally, after so many years of hints.

For this level, this is what I have used, but technically speaking all you need is a Mountain, a good sniper, a Mudrock, a good caster and a medic defender. I made Ebenholz hold the bottom line, but then the enemy there slipped and I almost failed at holding him down with Hoederer (who wasn't max level at the time). I also took Heidi (but any bard will do) for the passive healing on Mudrock because she was not enjoying her time back under the cannon.

Imagine this, LostBelt King Ruler Medb-Titania. A fusion of Medb and Titania that rules eternally over a Connacht blessed by the Fae.

Your main ally is Chaldea's own Medb who pretty much forced her way into coming when she heard that Connacht was involved.

The game finaally treats Medb seriously as she comes face to face with a kingdom much like her own but also painfully different. Because while they share the same faces they are not the ones she knew. The girl named Findabair is not her daughter, and none of the boys named Maine are her son. Although they made her will falter, when she accepts it she becomes stronger and more determined than she already was before.

Eventially Medb-Titania and Medb stand against each other prepared to fight head on. Medb-Titania can't help but be confused as to why Medb fights against her so. Medb's love for her people and the people's love for her is what gives her strength, so why would Medb choose to kill them and destroy her own Eternal Kingdom?

Medb answers back with resolve, "Because they are not my people, and this is not my Connacht. They may share the same faces, names, smiles, and laughs, but these are not the ones that I loved. The ones I loved died long ago in Pan Human History and that's why I fight to restore it.

Medb-Titania tightens the whip in her hand. "Even if those faces that smiled at you twist with hatred? Even if the voiced that said told you they loved you curse your name? Even if those laughs that comforted you turn into screams of hatred? You still fight for their memory?

Medb puts a hand to her heart and smiles brightly "Yes without a doubt! I'm their queen after all. I'm fine with being hated. I'm fine with being cursed and called names. My people put their love, hopes, and faith in me. If it's for them I can do anything!"

Medb-Titania smiles back at her boldly and she readies her whip. "I see. I understand you for I feel the same way. For my people, for my Connacht I will do whatever it takes. I really couldn't ask for a more worthy opponent."

Both Medbs smile smugly as the simultanious sounds of whips cracking snaps through the air. No more words are needed except for this.

"Lend me your strength! My beloved people!"

Frontline Support Medb is required against Medb-Titania. But she's absolutely busted. She's level 100 NP 5 with max skills and 2k Fou Bonuses. Along with a special buff that makes it so they both deal effective damage to each other. Each of her command cards has a new Command Code with her face on it that gives 2 crit stars, NP gauge, and heals 200 HP.

"Golden Rule (Body) A" has now been upgraded to "The Eternal Lady EX". It's now a 5 turn cooldown and the NP gain and Hp regen have been increased by 5% and 500 respectively. It also comes attached with a 50% crit dmg buff now.

Eventually Medb-Titania loses and the Tree of Emptiness is cut down. Knowing the end is near Medb-Titania asks Medb to lend her strength in making sure that their people at the least go out happy.

Using Medb's Red Mead as a catalyst combined with her own blood Medb-Titania casts a spell that causes mystical pink flowers to bloom all over Connacht before passing away. From those flowers comes glowing pollen that illuminate the sky akin ot fireflies. With one smell her people are numbed from pain and filled with the strength to party until the end.

Medb takes one last moment to look at the Connacht that isn't hers and it's immortalized by the reward CE at the end of the Lostbelt.

Harmonia

Harmonia Blood Code Study- Eva Roux "A blood code received from Eva. It holds her will to pay back and dedicate her life to the one who saved her from being a slave. This code improves focus bonuses and features excellent Dark Gifts. It is weak to being staggered but supplies ample amounts of ichor."

Introduction to Blood Codes and Eva

Blood Codes are the abilities imbued within a Revenant's Blood. Each Blood Code is unique to each Revenant that resides within the Gaol of the Mist. Once a Revenant has awakened from their slumber after the BOR parasite has been placed in them, the blood takes on a Code which I believe derives from the characteristics of that Revenant.

Eva willingly became a Third Generation Revenant during her time with Jack. She is completely devoted to Jack and is willing to do anything to assist Jack or take on burdens that would cause him less pain. Even when her strength falters or she's at the edge of a frenzy, she'll prioritize Jack's wellbeing. Jack has the same feelings when it comes to protecting Eva as well. That's why these two balance each other so well as Watchers of the Successors.

Greek Mythology

Eva's Blood Code is based on the Greek Goddess Harmonia.

Harmonia was known as the Goddess of harmony and concord. The only notable story linked with this Goddess is the Necklace of Harmonia. It all started with Hephaestus, who discovered that his wife Aphrodite the Goddess of love had cheated on him with Ares the God of War. He cursed their future bloodline saying that any offspring from them would be cursed. Harmonia is Aphrodite's daughter and Harmonia was to be wed to Cadmus, the founder of the city of Thebes. When Hephaestus heard about the marriage, he created a necklace for Harmonia and offered it as a gift.

The Necklace of Harmonia is said to bring misfortune to anyone who their possessor is. In exchange, the necklace grants eternal youth and beauty to the one who wears it. The necklace itself was made from gold and jewels and it had two small snakes clasped on the gem

Due to the exploits of Cadmus, when he was ready to sacrifice a cow to the Goddess Athena, a water dragon attacked but he managed to kill it. The dragon was under the jurisdiction of Ares, Harmonia's father and served him for eight years until he and the gods demanded he marries Harmonia. After their marriage, the necklace brought on many diseases upon the city of Thebes and to their family. Harmonia and Cadmus left the city and went to Illyria. In the end, Harmonia and Cadmus were both turned into serpents. Cadmus' fate was ill and reclined his fate to turn into a serpent himself just as the dragon he slain. Harmonia followed, wanting the same fate as Cadmus.

The necklace itself was continuously passed down to her daughter and future generations but all of them suffered devastating misfortunes.

Similarities to Eva and Harmonia

Harmonia brings harmony to all things, and Eva's high compatibility with the relics and the power of her voice alone bring harmony in the realm of the Vein. Her voice can calm the Lost and Successors from their frenzy (even if it's only temporary).

We have Rin who carries the Blood Code Hephaestus and Eva who has the Harmonia blood code, but they're drastically opposite to their Greek God counterparts. When Eva left home base, Rin was the one who was supposed to watch over her but was disappointed in herself for not being able to go after her. Rin was very distraught about it and was genuinely worried if Eva was okay or not. Unlike Hephaestus' spiteful nature, Rin is an absolute sweetheart and I can imagine her hugging Eva the minute she returned to Home Base safe and sound.

Based on the lore of Harmonia, we could say Cadmus is Jack as Eva is to Harmonia. Jack worked tirelessly for years after Operation Queenslayer to watch over the Relic's and Successors just as Cadmus served years under Ares service. Jack 'killed' the MC and the MC relates to the Water Dragon that Cadmus ended up killing. Both MC and the dragon were both under a rule of another, the MC taking in the Queen's blood which made them become a successor inheriting the relic and the water dragon is under Ares' jurisdiction when they ruled over certain land. Cadmus had to make up for the dragon's death while Jack had to begin his duties of being a watcher after he puts down the MC.

As mentioned, Ares ordered Cadmus to marry Eva and thus began their endeavors and their route of misfortunes when she received the necklace. While Jack gave Eva as much freedom as he could, she willingly chose to assist Jack and remain at his side, not because of obligation but she sincerely cares for him. While not much is noted of Harmonia's personality, even she remained devoted to her husband until the bitter end.

With Eva having the capacity to store many relics within her, it is also her misfortune. She is aware that carrying many relics takes a toll on her as we see her collapse while stopping Jack. However, she knows she has the power to contain them and she will do it if it lessens Jack's burden. With the Necklace of Harmonia, the city of Thebes bred disease and it also affected the people and Harmonia's family.

It relates to the Revenants in the Vein that suffers from Bloodthirst and the lack of blood beads. It also pays homage to it in the Crown of Sand area, since wherever the player or your partner steps on the sand, it immediately drains Ichor. "Leak" is a debuff in the game and it describes as: "This debuff causes your blood to rot, slowly draining your ichor." if any Revenant's blood rots then they're unable to use any abilities or Gifts which could be considered a disease in itself.

“Look, there used to be ruins here, but now they’ve been turned into a desert. the successor who created the crypt used their very last ounce of strength as they struggled to resist their relic. The wind scattered salt from a dried up lake over the land nearby, making it barren. Now it’s the same kind of desolate place as the one where Eva was born. She and I promised each other that if either of us fell to the thirst, the other would have the last of their humanity. Eva is waiting for me... just over there...I’m talking too much. anyway, i’m going on ahead. this is between me and Eva.” -Jack Rutherford

Also, regarding the relics, the main disease that Jack and Eva have to worry about is frenzy. Once frenzy hits, it's over.

Cadmus was burdened with being the founder of the city and eventually caving into his fate to become a serpent, a similar beast to the dragon he slain. Harmonia followed him and joined in with his fate. We see Eva doing this for Jack as well. Eva wasn't a Revenant yet when she met Jack and in the end after everything that transpired between both of them, Eva decides to join Jack and become a Revenant and the Successor of the Relic.

As Jack mentioned in the Crown of Sands area, Eva grew up in a similar environment. This is related to the city of Thebes that Cadmus founded. The city of Thebes is a city in a desert environment that matches well with how Eva is linked to the sands. Harmonia married to Cadmus in the City of Thebes and resided there for a decent amount of time. Eva grew up in an area similar to Thebes (we're not sure where in the real world the Vein is referenced from).

As we can see in Eva's design. Her scars are probably her physical representation of Harmonia's misfortune along with the infamous Harmonia's Necklace. While there's no official image I can reference from (cause frankly the necklace could have a vastly different design and there are various interpretations of it), Eva does wear a necklace and Jack also wear a necklace matching with her, which displays how they both are willing to share the same fate. This is a nod to Harmonia's lore.

Harmonia's Gifts

Gift Prowess-Temporarily increases gift speed for you and your partner.

This Gift as you guys can probably guess relates to Harmonia's relationship with Cadmus. Qhile many things happened during their time together, they remained together til the bitter end. They both supported eachother despite the fate and the curses that fell upon them. - Max Ichor Boost-Increases the maximum amount of ichor that can be held. Mind/Willpower Up-Increases mind and willpower.

These Gifts specifically pertain to Harmonia's necklace. While the necklace caused her misfortune, it gave her eternal youth which is the only benefit she had. Ichor is special blood that enables a Revenant to use Gifts and abilities so the more ichor a Revenant has the more versatile, and it's the same with Eva. In terms of the Mind/Willpower Up, it's within the same theory including the fact that Harmonia in Greek lore is very strong-willed to keep up with misfortune after misfortune. - Supernatural Blood-Enables you to sacrifice HP to use Gifts when you have run out of ichor.

Harmonia turned into a snake and sacrificed herself when her husband fell prey to the same fate. Harmonia did it voluntarily just like Eva voluntarily became a Revenant to support Jack. This Gift references from Harmonia's sacrifice. - Volatile Storm-Creates blades of sand that converge on the target and explode. Sand Edge-Creates a blade of high-pressurized sand from the ground that knocks away foes.

The gifts here with sand like properties relates to the city of Thebes where Harmonia's husband founded and ruled over. Harmonia was also by her husband's side and lived within the city as well. Thebes in real life is a sand-like area as well (however we don't know if Eva is really from there or not). While Harmonia was not a fighting God, she was a part of the city and these are more based on Harmonia wanting to protect her family and the people of Thebes from any threats.

Concluding thoughts

Eva is a very lovely character overall. I feel like the lore of Harmonia matches well with her and it balances out with Jack being her Cadmus in the lore. Other than the Necklace of Harmonia and how Harmonia matches with her ideals, there's not too much to expand on. The one thing I am thankful though is that her supposed 'misfortunes' weren't as severe as her Greek God counterpart. She brings a great sense of balance to the crew at home base and I don't think the story would work out without her presence. Plus her dedication to Jack is something that should be admired.

The Failed Adventurer plays FE:Echoes, overall thoughts

this ended up being a lot, so gonna put it under a Read More.

Stuff I liked;

except for dungeons, all characters you had recruited were on the map

how magic use was balanced

archers could counter in melee

the aspect of controlling two different groups

how the overworld map was used. Especially with the roaming enemies.

weapons don’t break

the music. Compared to Awakening’s grand and soaring opening music and title music, Echoes has a more grounded feel to it. There’s a somber feel to it all the time, whereas Awakening only has one map where it has a somber tone. That music following our two characters in the opening sequence, right when you boot up the game before actually creating a save file, making a promise to always get along with each other and the imagery of all the conflict, it’s saying that this isn’t going to be a happy romp through the countryside.

the characters reaction to getting a bad level up. That was really good at taking the edge off of it. Made the reaction go from a “sigh” to a “heh”.

the story through Act 3 was decent.

i like how the Necrodragons felt. The first time you encounter them, they are big and scary, you need to use you one Defense tank to tank them while Celica is the only one with a spell that can deal heavy damage to them, and you need to keep those that can’t take a hit far away from their high move range. The next time you fight them, you have additional characters with that spell and a few others can just punch hard through their high Def.

Stuff I didn’t like;

While I like how magic use was balanced, I don’t like how magic damage was balanced. When a character levels up, each stat has a percent chance of going up. The final chance is the character’s base chance and the class modifier (if any) added together. Most character growths are somewhere in the 25 to 45 range, with the classes adjusting it by up to 10 in some direction if at all. Resistance, the stat used to defend against magic damage, is in the 0 to 5 range for all but one character with an 8 (and no class adjustment ever). Actually, only one character has a base 5 growth to Res (actually a 7 after class adjustments). Only four clases raised Res growth; healer class and it’s promote by 2, and female mage class and it’s promote by 1. When I finished the game, that 7% growth character had 15 Res, whereas a character I got a quarter of the way through Act 4 came with 18 Res. What was considered my magic tank early in Act 1 (11 Res) didn’t grow ANY Res at all. The common magic damage enemy had damage passing the mid 20s by the 4th Act. This made Speed (not getting doubled) and HP the primary defense against magic damage. It also forced the tactic to deal with enemy mages to be “burn them before they can touch you”. The attack mages you get don’t get nearly enough Res to trade efficiently with the enemy mages, if they can’t blast their opponent away in one turn they can’t get used. The only real use I got out of those magic tanks past Act 3 was to be a ward for the teleporting witches, who got up to 20 damage max, and they don’t teleport nearly often enough to be threatening.

OH MY GOD are Dread Fighters broken. Dread Fighters come from the class line that gets high Attack, Skill, and Speed. They hit hard (often with a crit), accurately, will often hit their opponent twice, and be hard to hit themselves. Their weaknesses are magic damage and the bulky physical defense with high attack units. Then they become the Dread Fighter, gain a flat +5 to Res, HALVE all magic damage received, and gets an increased move range. Here is your goto squishy killer. Here is your new magic tank. Oh, and they can un-promote back to the Villager class, which allows them to potentially gain infinite levels (Villager > Mercenary > Myrmidon > Dread Fighter > Villager) and are the only class to do so without a DLC item.

I guess my main issue with how magic damage is handled is that your magic tanks don’t stay magic tanks, your magic users aren’t your offensive magic tanks, and your units that kill squishy mages just fine before become your defensive magic tanks as well.

Speaking of the Villager class, what they can promote into are different depending on the character’s gender. Male units get the aforementioned Mercenary class line, as well as the Soldier (high defense and attack, low movement), Cavalier (horse back, high movement and speed), Archer (longest base attack range in the game), and male Mage (moderate magic damage, can heal on promote). The Mage class is the only one there that doesn’t promote twice. Female units get female Mage (higher magic damage, can use a sword and heal on promote), Cleric (healing class), Pegasus Knight (flying unit, low Def but high Skl and Spd and supposedly good Res. supposedly), and Cavalier. Only one of those can promote twice. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Mathilda being in the game was the only reason they could be Cavaliers.

The story was ugh. Alm never gets punished for anything. After Alm and Celica have their spat, the closest he gets is when Nuibaba uses an image of Celica to get him into her trap. But he gets Tatiana, and Zeke, out of that, and the death of someone apparently very high up in the Duma Faithful. Celica walks straight into the lying antagonist’s hands and needs to be rescued by Alm in the end. Does Alm ever really grow?

I swear I’ve seen/heard this before. The Female MC and love interest to Male MC does what she thinks and believes is right without telling ANYONE ELSE about it, is drawn by the Antagonist into his lair to be revealed that the Antagonist is lying too late for her to back out and is turned on the Male MC who is forced to kill her except she doesn’t die cuz deus ex machina.

there were a couple times where the maps started out as...empty. here is a map of the last map to really feel that way. Half the enemies are teleporting witches, the other half are Myrmidons and the Dread Fighter boss to the far left. 2 witches and Myrmidons to the right. Every map beforehand, you moved forward to engage the enemy. Why would they give all that space behind you? The only reason I can think of to delaying the arrival of the enemy is to give time for the witches to teleport behind you and to kill them off before fighting the Myrmidons and Dread fighter, but they don’t teleport nearly often enough, sometimes not at all, for that to really work out like that. If we give 3 lines below the southern most notable thing, the ramparts we assemble around, we could easily drop 6 lines off the bottom of the map.

the game difficulty was...really easy for being on hard mode. The only times it was actually difficult was in Act 2 when I was facing a Cantor for the first time and when I fought Jedah for the first time in Act 4. Every other time it just felt like a puzzle that had an easy answer. For that Cantor, NONE of my units could effectively trade with it. My one unit with high Res only had an attack that wasn’t very accurate and didn’t have the damage output to counteract the healing it was getting, my offensive mages couldn’t effectively trade against it, and my physical attackers couldn’t efficiently trade as well if they hit at all. What I ended up doing was to summon a bunch of disposable units to have the Cantor eat away at his health counterattacking them and then just blast him with my mages afterwards before he healed back up. For Jedah I didn’t realize two things. 1) the map would be over in 6 turns anyway with no indication that it was a defense mission, 2) that the key was 4 separate units attacking, not 4 attacks total. I didn’t even bother trying to attack him because he was doing that much magic damage, even to the Dread Fighters.

I like the game overall. I look forward to potentially blinging out my weapons and stomping all over the postgame.

Primary Role: DPS support, Defensive Support

You probably have heard about ten thousand viewpoints on how good Artoria Caster is, and I'll be honest, I'm probably not going to bringing too much unique to the table here. It doesn't take a genius to see how powerful Caster Artoria is, being by far the best Arts support in the game and having great generally usability as well. No matter how you feel about the existence of a meta in F/GO, it's pretty hard to argue that she isn't game-changing.

Starting from her fundamentals, you might find that's she actually isn't amazing in that regard. Her statline is positioned well enough, having high HP and a lower ATK, which is good for what she does, but her NP Generation leaves a little to be desired at first glance. Her Quick card is also pretty much useless, as she won't generally make many crit stars no matter what her chain, with a maximum of 12. Her AAA chain will generate 55% of her NP gauge on average, which isn't bad since having a natural Arts chain is always useful. If you use her 2nd and 3rd skills, she can charge her NP gauge to max in one turn, although she will only generate 79% of her gauge for the next two turns, since she needs the 20% charge. All things considered, her NP generation is perfectly fine, thanks to her skills. It just looks more mediocre on its own. Similar to Merlin in all honesty.

Going onto her skills, they're all amazing. She has a better version of Merlin's 1st skill, generating more NP but coming at the cost of an extra turn of cooldown. She also now provides the largest party wide NP gauge charge on a skill, which is quite notable, although going from 20% to 30% is a bit situational in terms of the difference it makes. Her second skill provides a targeted charge and a party wide NP gen bonus, and while Nero's targeted charge is bigger and her targeted NP gen is also larger, this skill is very synergistic with Artoria's kit, providing a 50% NP charge to one Servant. Her final skill is a 50% Arts steroid that also boosts damage against a pretty specific niche of enemy, and to top it all off it's also a targetable Invulnerability too. All on a 6 turn cooldown. These skills make Artoria the best Arts support in the game, not only providing both NP Generation and Arts performance, but very strong NP charges on top of it.

Her NP is also extremely good as well. It provides a strong Attack boost that gets even better with extra NP levels, removes all debuffs from the entire party, and provides a special Anti-Purge buff, which is Invulnerability but also ignores Pierce Invul. She even provides extra hits per OC level, for a maximum of 5 hits of Anti-Purge for 3 turns. It's a really good NP since all of its effects are very good, and even sticking it at the end of an NP chain gives what is essentially a super Protection from Arrows effect. She fits incredibly well into defensive teams because of it, able to protect the party from damage unless the buffs get removed. This NP is even good in Arts teams who typically had problems dealing with NP damage if a boss could instantly charge their NP.

Support Options: Artoria Caster is more, the support to other Servants and not really a Servant who really requires supports in any way. Using Double Artoria will turbo-charge a big number of Arts Servants, allowing them to do a ton of damage and get a ton of refund from their NPs and basic Arts cards. Tamamo is very synergistic as well, since she provides healing which is something that Artoria Caster also lacks. Servants who provide Buff Removal resist, such as Murasaki Shikinu or Beni-Enma can also provide the perfect defense set-up where it becomes impossible to deal damage once Artoria uses her NP. Medea Lily provides both healing and buff removal resistance to a more defensive team as well, in addition to some Debuff resistance.

Command Code: Artoria doesn't require Command Codes at all to function, so there main recommendations are Command Codes that will allow her to support the team, either through specific buff removal, generating critical stars, or boosting party crit damage. She will work just fine without any Command Codes though, so you can skip over her.

Craft Essences: In an Arts team, Castor Artoria typically doesn't need specific CEs. Looping teams can use her with a CE that boosts QP, Master EXP, MC EXP, or Bond points since they won't typically do much in the way of attacking. More defensive Arts teams can use Arts boosting CEs, Prisma Cosmos, or starting NP CEs in order to get to her NP faster or on demand, and stall teams will enjoy Prisma Cosmos or Maid in Halloween. Her Bond CE can also be used effectively as well. If you want to stick her with a Servant that wants to crit as well, Fragments of 2030 is recommended, since she cannot generate crit stars well on her own.

Competition: Caster Artoria doesn't have competition per se, she's at the top of the food chain. But it's worth comparing her to Tamamo and Caster Gilgamesh specifically. Tamamo is more defensive and works better in longer battles, providing healing and skill cooldown reduction, and Caster Gilgamesh is far better with Art Crit servants since he boosts their crit star generation, and can do a good amount of damage on his own. Paracelsus isn't competition per se but is often the 3rd Arts support in a looping team.

Jeanne occasionally is better in stall teams thanks to her Stun, and Ruler advantage against Riders, Moon Cancers, and Alter Egos, but she's generally worse than Artoria in the stall department.

Pros: -Incredible support kit that activates pretty much every Arts servant in the game -Double Artoria presents some of the cheapest looping set-ups in the game -NP is incredibly powerful -Great general use thanks to large NP charge numbers -Is very cute and her smile cures cancer

Cons: -Provides no crit support what so ever -No healing or defense buffs means she's more frail against normal attack damage -3rd support isn't as cute or good as 1st or 2nd and if you're using random Ascension options that can be disappointing, at least to me personally I love her 2nd ascension outfit

Artoria Caster is, at least in my eyes, probably the best Servant in the game at this point, but it's worth keeping things in perspective for a moment. She massively boosts Arts as a playstyle, but both Buster and Quick are still very viable and have different pros and cons compared to the Arts playstyle. She's not perfect either, she just provides something that no other Arts support has in the past: a lot of NP charge. That's enough to really equalize the Arts playstyle and allow a ton of Servants to function far better than they have in the past. She is game changing though, and definitely the first immense hit of powercreep the game has had in a long time.
