Rafe Dating A Pogue

You worked for his dad,meaning that he had seen you around plenty of times

You pretty much ignored him everytime he tried to talk to you

He had managed to get you to listen to him for two minutes

He tried to fit everything he wanted to say in those two minutes,trying really hard to charm you

“Im not your bitch Rafe.”You rolled your eyes,walking away.He was too stoned to walk fast,instead shouting to you. “Is there any chance I could be your bitch?”He shouted.

He tried really hard to stay away from the pogues,thinking that if he didnt mess with your friends maybe it would make his chances better

The next time he approached you was when you were carrying shit from the docks and onto Ward’s boat

“So how are you doing today,beautiful?”He asked,leaning against the boat.You rolled your eyes,walking past him. “Go fuck some rich bitch,Cameron.”You snapped at him.

He tried working on himself as a person,trying to figure out what you didnt like about him

He went up to Kiara as she was on a walk,struggling to keep up

“So like,did you tell (Y/N) shit about me?”He asked.She turned,looking up at him. “What?”She asked.He sighed. “Why does she hate me so much?”He asked.Kiara scoffed. “Oh as if you didnt beat the shit out of JJ and Pope.Go fuck yourself.”She took a short cut down a hill.He cupped his hands over his mouth. “Can you not tell her about this?”He shouted.

He set alarms in his phone for when you were supposed to come around so he could make his hair look nice and wear more simple shirts

He basically just tried not to look stuck up

He sat inside the boat,waiting for you

You walked in,groaning when you saw him. “Jesus-what the fuck do you want?”You asked.He bit his lip,smiling and sitting up properly. “Um...you look pretty today.”He blushed.You leaned against the wall,raising an eyebrow. “Today?As in I looked hideous the last time you saw me but today I got lucky?”You asked.He gulped,shaking his head. “No,no,You look pretty all the time but like you also look pretty today and I thought you should know that you look pretty today.”He stammered.You let out a low,emotionless laugh. “I know.”You answered.

It took him eight months of not getting into fights and complimenting you every time he saw you to finally get your number

Well,you took his number and he waited for hours to get a text.

You texted him at 11:53 pm calling him an asshat

He got you to go on a date with him to a coffee shop,also bringing you a necklace with a turtle on it because he heard you say that it was your favorite animal once

“I got you this.”He held out his hand,showing you the necklace.You raised your eyebrows,looking between him and the necklace. “Why?”You asked.He shrugged. “Just because.”He answered.

He had waited for you to make a move,not wanting to mess things up

You kissed him after he had driven you back to your house after your fourth date

You had simply reached over,cupped his face and pecked his lips before grabbing your bag and hopping out of his car and into your house without another word

You really liked his bathroom and would just sit in the empty bath tub when you went over sometimes

He’d knock at the door,worried. “Hey,you okay?Its been twenty minutes.”He opened the door,seeing you laying in the tub.You turned red from embarrassment,sitting up. “I like your bath.”You told him.

So he turned on the water and took a bath with you

He accidentally called someone a “Filthy Pogue” in front of you

“Im a pogue,Rafe.” “No,no I dont see you as a pogue.” “Then you dont see me,Rafe!Im a fucking Pogue and you cant change that.”

You hadnt talk to him for three days after that until he bought you a cat to make up for it

“I know that you dont support turtles being sold in pet stores because they’re mistreated so I went to the shelter and got you a half deaf cat.”He told you,lifting up the large ginger cat.You sighed,yawning. “You got me a half deaf cat?”You asked.He nodded,still holding the cat out to you.

He would come over to your house with cat food and cat toys because he knew that you couldnt afford it

He took you to the golf course,trying to teach you

“You really do this all the time?This shit is boring as hell.” “Is it really?What would you rather do?”

That lead you to try teaching him how to surf

“How do you find this fun?I keep almost drowning!”He exclaimed,holding onto his board tightly.You laughed,shaking your head. “You’re such a fucking kook,babe.”

He never tried to get you to change your style,understanding that it was pretty much your culture and way of life

“Is it true that kooks wipe their asses with ten dollar bills?” “No.” “Is it true that you guys are all part of the illuminati?” “No.”

You really loved his pool

“You know whats cool about pools?” “Hmm?” “I dont get sand up my ass.”

You had to call him once cause you got lost in his house

Ward had gotten used to you,a pogue,dating one of his kids so John.B and Sarah werent insane to think about

Speaking of Sarah her and Wheezie liked you a lot

Wheezie had a lot of questions about the cut and being a pogue,asking about why you all wore bracelets

Rafe’s style had changed since he met you,now keeping one of your bracelets and one of your bandanas around his wrist as all times

tbh i think the reason joker is like... written as so threatening for other people and babs and jason can’t move on past it and joker has to be so ~crazy~ that j’onn can’t read his mind and fear gas or whatever and some other villains mind poisons don’t work on him

is because DC just CANT let joker be just some guy

because if joker is just some guy, and they keep pushing him as batman’s main villain, and he keeps getitng portrayed as a threat to batman and BATMAN is DC’s most powerful power fantasy 4ever...

then it weakens that if other people can just... not be bothered by him. because if he bothers batman but doesn't bother them, then does that imply that batman isn’t the strongest most manliest most powerful thing in the universe?

like first of all, it’s a mistake to even make joker batman’s main villain. joker should just be some guy, even to batman. if he ever crosses paths with bane or ra’s al ghul he should be counting his blessings if he’s not like dead by the end of it

but secondly EVEN IF joker was batman’s main villain, there’s no reason to make the rest of the universe bend around that. sometimes people can just be better than batman at things

Kings: Target Practice

Just a little visit to Mobster Bucky and his Queen.

Kings one shot

You’re stupidly nervous, you have no idea why you’d be nervous it’s Bucky for crying out loud. He’s never given you a reason to be afraid of him, for him yes all the time, but of him? Never. While your mobster may scare the living shit out of the rest of the city you know the truth, he’s a teddy bear. He’s working in his office at home today, it was a Sunday and he wasn’t supposed to be working at all. Sunday’s were for the farmers market and late brunch at home with fresh fruit and homemade whipped cream. But every now and then his work got in the way, you understood that but it didn’t mean you loved it.

Your bare feet are quiet as you wander into his office. Sure enough he’s on the phone, probably talking to Steve or Sam. His face lights up when he sees you, a soft smile gracing his lips. You make your way to him, slipping into his lap you press a kiss to his jaw as his free arm curls around your back.

“Yea Tony, I think that’s a good idea. It’s been a while and we’d love to see you and Pepper for the fourth. No big plans, do you want me to let Peter know you’re on your way?” He pauses and you close your eyes, “Okay. I’ll have a room ready for you. Let me know anything you guys might want when you get here and I’ll make sure to have it.” Tony says something and Bucky laughs. “I like you man but not that much. Besides my girl hates the smell.” Tony says something else and Bucky groans, “yea yea. Say hi to Pepper and see you soon. Bye.”

“Morning.” You him not moving from your place leaned up against him.

“Mornin’ Sweetheart. Sorry about that.”

“S’okay. You done for the day?”

“Should be. You wanna get dressed so we can go to the farmers market?”

“No.”

“As much as I love seein’ you in just my shirt and those cute underwear I think I might end up knifing someone for lookin’ at ya.” He says and you can’t help but laugh softly at the thought of you going around the farmers market in your pajamas.

“No I meant I wanna do something different today.”

“And what’s that?”

“I want you to teach me to shoot better.” You feel him tense beneath you, “That shot I got off on Pierce was pure luck.”

“Is someone buggin’ you Sweetheart? Do you not feel safe?” Those blue eyes of his search your face, concern evident.

“No, no Buck. I just, I think it’s a good idea for me to be able to protect myself in an emergency.”

“That’s what I’m for.”

“What if you’re not home?”

“Safe room.”

“What if I’m not home.”

“You’ve got Sam, Scott, Peter, Clint, Wanda and Natasha to protect you.”

“I hope not all at the same time. That’d be a bit much.” You tease trying to lighten his mood again.

“Babe.” He warns softly.

“Please James.” You beg, ghosting you lips over his jaw, “please.” You whisper into his ear before kissing his jaw below it.

“You’re an evil woman.” He growls as you continue to pepper kisses along his throat and jaw, you know you’ve got him. He cups your face in one of those large hands of his and studies your face again. “You swear no one is bothering you? That you just want to learn for emergencies?”

“Yes, I know you’ll do everything in your power to protect me. Including giving your own life and,” you swallow thickly at the thought, “I-I can’t imagine my life without you James. I don’t want that to ever have to be the case.”

“Fine. We can go to the range.” He agrees softly resting his forehead against yours before capturing your lips in a soft kiss.

“Alright, I brought two guns. This is the Glock 43, the one that you’ve shot before. The other one is a Smith and Wesson Shield 9mm.”

“Maybe let’s start with the Glock? Since I’ve shot it before.” Bucky nods and then gets you set properly, one arm bracing the other, hips square, feet planted, ready for a recoil. His chest is firm against your back as he adjusts your hands slightly. “If you wanted to cop a feel Buck, all you had to do was ask.” You tease him and he gives your hip a soft pinch.

“Focus Sweetheart.” He mumbles into your ear, you do and actually end up being a fairly good shot. You never miss the target and even manage to get a few bullseyes. You’re proud of yourself and give Bucky a pleased grin when you manage to get your highest score of the day, a 53 with the six shots from the Glock 43.

“Not too bad huh?” You ask, holding up the target paper for him to look at with you. You’d managed to hit the 9 three times, a bullseye which was ten and two eight point spots.

“Not bad at all. With some practice you might be able to tie me.”

“Oh, I’m sure we can think of something.” You flirt and he grins down at you.

“I’m sure we can.” He says picking up the reloaded Glock, then with a glance at the target he fires all six shots in rapid succession the last two he’s looking at you.

You don’t even care where he hit the target. It’s the sexiest thing you’ve ever seen him do, and after living with him for almost a year you’ve seen him do some pretty sexy things.

“Holy shit.” You breathe and he laughs pushing the button to recall the target. You’re stunned to see only two holes in it. “Where did the other ones go?”

“They all went into the same two spots.” He lays his target over yours so you can see that the holes his made are bigger than yours.

“Damn.”

“Hmm, I cant wait to collect on my prize.” He says catching your hand and pulling you toward him. You go willingly and he presses a hungry kiss to your lips, his arms wrapping tightly around you. Your hands find their way into his hair as he nips at your lower lip drawing a soft groan from you. “I love you my Queen.” He whispers and like every time he tells you he loves you butterflies dance around in your stomach.

“I love you too James.” You mumble back before kissing him again. Your mobster king.

Not trying to argue, but why are you so rigid about late season, first time wincest? I think the early seasons are more sexually charged and it's much more likely they would experiment sexually as adolescence than as 30somethings. I mean, like what you want to like, but I don't get it?

Well Nonnie, this isn't gonna be a short answer honestly. You are right that the early seasons are very sexually charged, I mean, the whole “wooah easy tiger” scene doesn't even need subtext, nor does Playthings or a mountain of looks they've given each other. It’s obvious that Kripke wanted us to see the sexual tension between Sam and Dean, which of course doesn't mean he was actually promoting Wincest, but establishing the fact that these guys love each other more than anything and are in no way, typical brothers.

However, for me, in my fantasy world, things need to be a certain way for me to really enjoy it. I'm not the least bit intrigued nor (god forbid) turned on by underage sex. In fact, if I'm watching a show/movie or reading a book where teenagers are having sex, I divert my attention because it skeeves me. It wouldn't have when I was young, but Im 53 yrs old now, and Im not about teenage sex.

It’s also true that the guys would be more likely to experiment when they’re young, but that idea grosses me out tbph. Especially given the fact that Dean is 4 years older than Sam, it puts Dean right in the “predator’ column where I never want him to be. It makes a loving and protective big brother, a piece of shit that would talk a little boy into sex. I mean Im sure you have seen the episodes where Sam and Dean are kids, at what point in any of them are they equals? Sam always looks like a little boy!

In the Christmas episode, Sam and Dean look close to the same age, (which the actors actually were the same age) but in any other flashback episode, Sam is much smaller and much younger than Dean. Thinking anything about that is hot is just perverted.

Another problem is that I am into Jared and Jensen. They’re HOT and J2 dont play any versions younger than we get in the pilot. I cant imagine wincest without J2. Also, I find them a whole lot hotter now than I did in the early seasons. They were definitely cute, but not hot to me, they were too young. Neither struck me as hot till s6.

Most importantly to me, isn't the idea that Sam and Dean come together intimately out of lust but in finding what they've always been missing. Becoming complete and how amazing it must feel after 30+ years of this deep abiding love and a shit ton of trauma, to finally kiss! The angst. the passion, the freedom, the feeling of finally being ONE soul, one body!! Ugggghhhhh now THAT is what does it for me!

I certainly get the interest in early season wincest and Im not offended at all if they're consenting adults, but its not my personal preference. Needless to say I don’t find a lot of fanfic to fill my needs lol. Its ok though, I have a vivid imagination 😄

AY2019/2020 Y1S2 Module Reviews

AY2019/2020 year 1 semester 2 review

Wew this semester was more of a honeymoon period for me still since I cant advance past CS1010S - this is only the first CS mod i have to take big oof. First half of the sem was spent mostly on (re)doing CS1010S AFAST and the rest went to catching up on other modules that are of relatively lower intensities compared to modules i imagine i will have to take next semester? The most challenging mods this sem goes to CS1010S, EC1301 and also.. ST2334? About half of the semester was done at home though due to the COVID-19 pandemic and so the never-ending heap of online lectures to review (for which i am always behind on unfortunately). I have no need to S/U any module this sem fortunately but that also means I might have effectively wasted my last COVID S/Us. I’m also the kind that is happy enough just to pass.

Since i took the alternative finals i have updated the final weightage for this module (last sems CS1010S had different weightages).

As we already know, this module (or any CS modules in general) easily has the highest workload compared to other modules, except this time without needing to complete missions every week? Also since its a re-module, there were no lectures/tutorials/recitations for this module and the prof spent lesser time than the first module with us. There is just one consultation slot per week that lasts about 1.5-2h, where the TAs/ prof Ben goes through exam questions over the past years and where students get to voice any doubts they might have. Hence, a lot of self-discipline is required on our part to grind past year papers consistently and drill our brains. Not sure if i’ve mentioned this before, but it’s nice of them to provide comprehensive worked solutions for about 50 exam papers (or maybe more) the profs claimed it was the only module in NUS to be doing this. Prof mentioned he was a bit disappointed in our batch as many werent putting in considerable effort right from the start aka ponning consultation slots arranged over the holidays (in December) - which is a lot of effort coming from the professor to arrange this just for our batch (first batch of CS1010S AFAST). Just name me any prof who does this for their students, coming back over the holidays to teach unpaid. Those who were not at level 50 in Coursemology had more time now to finish the missions/side-quests needed to achieve level 50 and get the full points for Coursemology (as we were expected to in Sem 1). Things were a bit rusty after the holidays at the start but it became better with practice. Was a bit disappointed at not being able to get question 2 right during the written paper (finals) it was a bit of an IQ-ish problem solving question. Anyways winged the 4m what-did-you-learn essay question (as usual) at the end as a saving grace and passed albeit by a very bit. I improved by 2 marks ?? compared to the last semester for finals, not the nicest thing to see after so much effort being put in but still. I think I’m just better at writing essays than coding....

Results for the PE

Mean is 14. Median is also 14. Standard Deviation is 7.6. Highest grades was 30/30 Question 1 turned out to be harder than we had intended, but Q2 was quite easy and most of Q3 was doable by most, as you can see in the results. Passing mark for PE is roughly 10/30.

Mean is 51/10, median is 53/100 and standard deviation is 14.4. Highest was 81/100. Generally, the performance was much worse than we had expected. Pass grade for Finals is roughly 40/100.

Basically, if got 10/30 for PE and 40/100 for Finals and you have done your Coursemology assignments you can expect a C grade. If not, then prepare to SU. CS1010S is not graded on a curve. We set question to test that you have mastered certain concepts and your final grade is a reflection of what you seem to have mastered as reflected by your exam performance.

This whole module was done by recess week so we have more time to focus on other mods. Honestly will be happy enough just to pass. Now, how do i survive CS23030 and CS2040 rip.

GEH1031 Understanding the Universe

Ng is relatively a slower-paced lecturer, which is good for someone like me who cant keep up with faster-paced profs. 2x on her elearning lecture videos makes the best pace imo. Her lecture slides are concise and simple, and will suffice in revision. While she does explain more in depth especially for concepts that are harder to grasp (not many) during the lecture i love that she keeps her lecture slides straight forward to the point. Everything was in point form, short and sweet much appreciated. Also if you pay attention to her lectures, you will do well for the quizzes at the end of each chapter for sure. Though i think you get the marks for quizzes as long as you did them before each deadline like participation marks kinda (?) rather than being graded on whether you answered them correctly. I didn’t do too well for term test 2 unfortunately and I also only just found out you can display the statistics of where you place among the cohort in LUMINUS and needless to say I didn’t place too well. It’s a relatively manageable module though there’s still a lot of content. Term test 1 consisted of MCQs and about 3 2m questions which she call “essay questions” which can be misleading for some (like me!). The MCQs are very tricky and most come in the format of these options: is A/ is not A/ is B/ is not B and you have to pick the right combination (2) out of these 4 options to score 1 point, which of course means less chances of getting them correct compared to the usual 25% in a typical MCQ. Term test 2 was held on LUMINUS at home, and this time since its an e-exam there was only 10mins to do about 25 MCQ, leaving only 0.4 minutes = 24s for 1 MCQ, which proved to be really stressful for many as voiced out by other cohort mates in the forum section (so very valid). The e-exam also had an essay component, 2m per question with 4 questions under 10 minutes. The implementation of this time constraint was to prevent cheating but the duration given was (I feel) unreasonable. As for the video presentation, we had to come up with a 7 min (at most) video most of which lasts 5/6mins on a news article in 2020 regarding astronomy. We had to form groups of 3 at the start of the semester, and were told to look for members on the forums if we did not have enough members. It is not necessary to show your face so you can be creative! For my group, we had a Germany graduate exchange student to work with us which was really cool. Our group’s theme was NASA’s discovery of exoplanets with the use of TESS which was wrapped up in March, before the deadline in April. Really thankful for him to prompt us each week for progress and have it done and over with instead of rushing it last minute when things get busy during reading week. (I think the guy was really done with us im so sorry Philipp if you are reading this.) Also since term test 2 was done by mid-April we had more time allocated for other modules to prepare for finals (swee). Video critiques were supposedly 50 words long if i remembered correctly but i didnt find out until i hit the submit button and :_D i left 1/2-liners for each. One of the criteria of this video critique was showing that you have watched the videos of other groups well but i dont rmb my critiques proving that ive watched the videos carefully though i really did. I think our group did the best in our cluster though! (based on the critiques). For the astrophotograph, we could take part in the astronomy sessions held on a Friday of every month to use the telescopes but there wasn’t any this semester sadly due to the pandemic.

GES1041 Everyday Ethics in Singapore

Chin’s lectures are pretty enjoyable, his voice/tone really suits lectures. He is a very approachable person too and willing to share a lot of experiences relevant to the topic at hand. He includes snippets of related videos in his slides many of which are insightful that made me share with my friends too. There is a total of 4 main themes in the module which are namely inequality, meritocracy, multiculturalism and migration and he also introduced the use of an ethical toolbox to helps us reach a more definitive thought process especially for an abstract topic like philosophy. I didn’t realise this was a philo mod when bidding for it so I was really surprised when i went for the first lecture (like bro it clearly says ETHICS what was i thinking). I also thought it would be something similar to Social Studies but was proven wrong. There are compulsory readings to do each week, about 20 pages long usually per reading and they are all chapters from books written by other Singaporean philosophers regarding the themes gone through which helped to widen my perspectives and broadened my horizons, those were some really good selection of readings. I have learned more things than I previously knew about the foreign domestic workers, migrant workers, racism in Singapore among the many topics we have dealt with.

This module is for those who are :

Comfortable with reading a lot every week (i put a lot here because i dont usually read)

Comfortable with writing essays (journal entry) 500 words each

Proficient in English (some of the expressions used can be quite complex and may take you a much longer time to process and understand especially with the reading quizzes that tests your comprehension of the readings - really just comprehension in true GP fashion)

Have a lot of experience in this field, those under social work would have many and will be able to share relevant experiences in the journal entry

Interested about the aforementioned themes

Reading quizzes are like comprehension style questions: do your readings and the questions tests you on what you have read so you just have to look for evidence of each option, the questions will refer you to the specific page/reading that will guide you (nice of them to do so). Journal entries and reading quizzes occur on an alternative week basis so reading quizzes followed by journal then reading quiz again and so forth. Nearing the end, you will be grouped according to who you sit close with and you will work together with your group members to work on a project that will have 2 overlapping themes about any policies/ observations of Singapore. It is advisable for the scope to not be too broad. e.g. we chose to talk about offering Muslim food in school canteens vs non-Muslim food (fewer food options for Muslims) and this encompasses both the multiculturalism and inequality themes. The group report will be due before the presentation and it helps identify some main points you will then talk about later during the presentation. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the group presentation this semester was done on Microsoft Powerpoint through voice-over slides. God bless, and there goes the need to memorise scripts especially with the finals season so near. The professor was really accommodating and gave us more time to prepare the voice-over slides when he announced that it will be held on powerpoint too. Finals was 20 MCQs in 1 hour on LUMINUS, the questions were similar to the reading quizzes (5 MCQs per quiz).

Can’t find the actual breakdown of scores sorry!

Bell-curve is really really steep for this one since its purely MCQ. Divided into micro and macroeconomics so first half of the sem was micro then the other half was macro. Finals was about 70% macro and 30% micro since micro was already tested for midterms. Every week, there’s a pre-lecture quiz to be done before the lecture and a post-lecture quiz due before the next lecture to reinforce your learning. There’s also supplementary readings that were given but i gave up on it by the third week. The way it is taught is a bit different from what I was used to in JC the things they focus on is also a bit different. There’s more calculations than JC whereas JC economics was more conceptual? I took only H1 economics so a lot of concepts were fresh for me like monopolism, comparative/absolute advantages, income elasticity etc. Both midterms and finals was held on Examplify with a lockdown on everything including wifi. The lecturer also provides additional practice questions in the form of quizzes nearing the exams instead of exam papers. To be honest, I felt this module was hard?? Not sure if anyone else felt the same way, it was a struggle.. I thought it was a fluff mod and boy was i very wrong about this. Also important thing to note is though this mod has MCQ-only exam, the MCQs are not 4 options but 6 options long with many tricky options and of course time constraint. Finals was 70/80 questions long in 1h iirc. Midterms was 40 questions. After the 3rd (?) tutorial, there was no more physical tutorials held just zoom tutorial sessions which only 3 ppl in my slot regularly attended. Towards the finals, a lot more zoom sessions were opened up and we could attend other TA’s zoom sessions this was a godsend thank you. My tutor wasn’t really clear in her explanations or maybe it is just me her accent came off a bit strong. I emailed her some questions but even now I have not receive any answers from her, she told me next week, and the next week became next next week and so on. I guess she must have had a lot on her plate. I didn’t think she was a good tutor. I flunked my midterms (5% percentile) so I was a bit dejected.

ST2334 Probability and Statistics

Prof was really funny and friendly. Although his tutorials left me confused (my friends would care to disagree), his lectures were still pretty good. He always emphasised knowing what we are doing rather than doing the math blindly. The tutor was fast in his replies whenever I asked him questions by email. This module is an extension of statistics in JC, probability and many more probability distribution (F, chi-square, t test, z test) with terms we have never encountered before too (unless you took BT1101 but this mod focuses more on deriving the values than having a program-R calculate it for you). Ever since the outbreak, the lectures were converted to e-lecture slide style but each lesson would take 4 lectures (4h), instead of the 2 lecture per week so we had to spend more time watching the videos than usual. It is easy to be behind on videos when there is only e-lecture videos so much discipline is required to stay on task.

Finals was proctored with zoom and held on Luminus in the form of a quiz. We were expected to scan and submit a pdf with our workings after the exam. I did not have time to finish about 8 questions (a lot of marks gone) there were a total of 30 questions, spent too much time in front on the easier questions. I did study for the later questions but had no chance to utilize what I have revised (sad). I am really dead for this module i hope i dont fail this.

Update. God bless, thought i was really doomed for because i lost so many marks from not being able to finish 8/30 questions that have the most marks rewarded. Guess i really took time to make less mistakes on the previous questions.

MKT1705X Principles of Marketing

Individual assignment questions (total of 5) for tutorials 1-3 are given at the start for which the tutor will go through in the allocated weeks. We get to choose the question we want to do and if that week, the question will be discussed that week will be the deadline for our IAs. The other questions in the IA do not have to be submitted but will be discussed in class. There’s class participation for this module so people were more eager than I was used to, to answer questions in class. I had no opportunity to though in this module (halfway into the semester it became elearning), the tutor had too many hands to pick. The tutor was very accommodating and knew our difficulties and was willing to work out compromise. However, her classes were centered mainly on her experiences (which can be a bit boring) it could have been better if she went through the content. Understand that it is a fluff module that requires many examples, but would be good to relate them back to the content we are expected to master. Tutorials are held every alternate week and we are expected to do the individual questions even if we do not need to submit so that we have something at least to share in class. Subject pool was giveaway marks basically do 6 research surveys and u will get the full marks for that. Final exam comprises of 3 essay questions (40m, 30m, 30m) that you have to submit in 1.5h (i thought it was 2h during the paper rip mad rush for the end), no references/research needed but there’s a plagiarism checker by TurnItIn on luminus basically testing the application of concepts to examples.

I got a B+ for group assignment, and A- for individual assignment. I think i can only do essay styled questions, is this a sign to do arts.....

Oh the presentation was changed to a one-shot video recording (no stitching of individual videos together) instead of an actual presentation in front of your tutorial mates. I think a lot of other groups also read off their scripts but ours was really obvious. The tutor grades (structures her own bell-curve) based on those who attempted the same question to be more fair rather than comparing among all the different questions so in a way, the difficulty of the questions won’t affect your grade.

Epilogue. this is probably the last and only time i could do this well.... even if it does not fit the conventional definition of doing well......

Lynn 53

I walked in and sat down. Lynn asked if it would bother me to have the eucalyptus essential oil going. I laughed and reminded her that I grew up with all kinds of natural things, so none of that bothers me. She laughed and said she had forgotten, and said that ragweed has been getting to her. She asked how I’m doing, and I said I was okay. I said that I haven’t been sleeping well, and I explained my recent issue with my mom and the broadway show. I explained that maybe it was progress but there was a part of me that doesn’t even want to hang out with her, but who knows, it could just be the mood im in. She said she considers that progress for sure. I told her about how I had met with my pastor and have sort of come up empty handed but am going to read a book he gave me. I told her about my neighbor attempting suicide and how I had a really bad panic attack following. She empathized and said she thinks it made sense that I responded that way. I told her ive been struggling with humanity being so negative and hot helpful and told her about the guy in yoga. And then she went with the mindfulness speech again lol. I feel like she must know im over it because she started explaining how its helped her so much and that philosophically it may also help with some of the existential crisis around faith issues. She explained how things like dbt or cbt may also help me feel better when I get upset, but that so far research shows mindfulness really helps change the brain. She pointed out that when she was my age she didn’t get it either and she laughed and said one day she knows im going to email her and say I got it lol even if its 10 years later. I was like idk maybe lynn, maybe. She said it takes time and a lot of practice and encouraged me to read more on it. SHe said things will always bother me because im a sensitive person and thatas not bad, but that mindfulness can really help me to be with it and move on from it without being so affected. Everything she said made sense, but I get so uninterested and bored with it. She said there are retreats and went on a long tangent about some lady she really likes who is an emdr consultant and is doing a retreat in Hawaii which incorporates emdr and mindfulness. I said I thought a whole retreat would make me want to kill myself. She laughed and said shes not there yet either with retreats but that they aren’t just sitting in a room silently for weeks. I told her about how the yoga instructor who did our mindfulness groups in treatment went to one where she went for a month and spent it in mindfulness and silence.

She asked where we wanted to work with emdr, and I said I don’t know, I just want to like myself. Lynn laughed and I commented that I knew it was a lofty goal. Lynn reminded me that liking myself will be impossible until we address the perfectionism issue because she doesn’t foresee me liking myself until im perfect or my beliefs change about needing to be perfect. I explained that I agreed it made sense. She asked about the religious stuff and where we need to start. I told her ive been thinking a lot about things but idk. We ended up talking a lot about religion in general and didn’t get to any emdr. She asked me about the church and if I would have been surprised to know they had manipulated donna into the tooth story. She tried hard to get me to take myself out of the story and ask myself what I might say to myself if I were anyone else with this story but it was hard. She pointed out how deeply these religious roots had been developed. I said I wished I could be my brother because hes not affected by it. Lynn disagreed and said I don’t know what he thinks about at night lol. SHe said the longer I do therapy the more I will realize that you never know what is really going on for people. SHe said surely there are a few who really don’t have skeletons in the closet but just because my brother doesn’t talk about it doesn’t mean he wasn’t affected. I explained that I wouldn’t have thought the pastor was trying to manipulate people but idk. I explained that it was a small church and she pointed out that religious cult type leaders seek power and followings, even if its small. SHe asked me if I would ever do to my kids what they did to me and I teared up and said I wouldn’t. She asked if that kind of emotional and religious abuse was something a therapist would report to dcs and I said maybe its just hard because everyone has religious freedoms and you could argue both sides so its a grey area. I explained how I really don’t remember the pastor but that I remember his wife carrie and she used to babysit me when I was four and five because they rented the apt above us. I said I just remembered her driving me and her daughter and telling us to hold onto our hats when we went over the train as a pretend game. I said I didn’t think their daughter was a Christian anymore, or at least not as rigid because she never posts about any of that stuff and lived with her bf prior to marriage. I explained that there was some weird situation that happened and a disagreement and they had left the church and went with a ministry out in California instead. I explained the vineyard denomination to lynn as best as I could, but I know she has a hard time grasping it lol. I explained the ministry they went to and how they had come to our church to do dream interpretation and hearing a word from god for us. I remember sitting there confused and terrified at what they might say. I remember the speaking in tongues and the banner running and flags and tamburines and prophetic words from god and the healings and dreams and art drawings. I realized saying it all outloud it did sound a lot crazier than I wanted to admit. Lynn pointed out that it seemed atheists and agnostics almost had a better moral compass sometimes because they don't hold themselves to impossible standards and have ridiculous expectations that go against human nature.

“Everything that you’ve described sounds… I don’t mean to be harsh, but like a cult. I mean, that was religious spiritual abuse”. I had described a few memories with the church. I had described the ways I had to repeat over and over the bile verse about god not giving me a spirit of fear, and how I couldn’t stop my panic attacks no matter how many times I said it. I told her that I know its not what she wants to hear but that it feels like some of these crazy religious things work out for some people so it feels like it was user error and the problem was me. I told her about how it felt like there was always a formula for things, but it never worked for me. I told her about how they had prophesied that my brother would be a worship leader while my mom was pregnant but never prophesied anything about me and always encouraged my brother to play music while intentionally leaving me out because I didn’t have “the gift”. I told her that there was no prophecy during my time in utero because my parents weren’t Christians at that point. I explained how they became Christians when they met my aunts boyfriend who invited them all to a bible study. I explained that the more I talked about it the more I realized how bizarre it was because my uncle is soooo far out there with his dream interpretations and the way he says he hears god and the way he isolates its all just odd but that hes the uncle who had gotten drunk on Christmas eve and told me all his problems and about how the pastors we grew up with had always really liked me and said what a good and caring kid I was.

Lynn encouraged me to talk to my pastor more about all of this. I told her he would probably say everything she had said regarding that it wasn’t healthy and logically I know all of this but it still feels true. She pointed out that we need to dig into some of the spiritual abuse with emdr because if this is the fundamental experiences shaping my beliefs, untangling that may untangle the perfectionism issue. She said she still wants me to talk to my pastor lol because she hasn’t studied any of this and if we untangle my current religious beliefs, ill need to replace them with something. She also said she wanted me to talk to him because she wants me to really recognize that it wasn’t just a terrible situation, it was abuse. I listened and she pointed out that she knows im on the fence with all of this because she could tell by my body language. What she meant was I had a hard time keeping eye contact, had teared up several times, and looked at the floor a lot as we talked about all of this stuff. She talked about how the church is supposed to be there to care about people and that unfortunately they often do a lot of harm. I explained that my current church really takes care of their people and I liked that about them.

We went to schedule for two weeks out and she said she wasn’t sure what her schedule will be yet because she may be helping out at the school with the play because tis the last one. I asked if that was because her son was a senior and she said yes. I asked if her son has red hair too and said how I cant imagine lynn having a red head. She laughed and said she wanted to show me a picture of him and that hes such a cutie pie and they just did headshots for the show. She showed me the picture and I was like oh my gosh he really is so adorable he looks like a cross between Justin bieber and zac efron in high school musical. She laughed and said he got to play troy Bolton in the high school musical play at their school. She then showed me a picture of her daughter and then her other daughter. I said they are so pretty and I was like lynn your kids are really good looking and I don’t mean that in a weird way. She laughed and said she agreed and thinks theyre pretty and shes really proud of them and theyre all really smart. I laughed and jokingly said and you validated their feelings and you love them for who they are and not how they look and she jokingly rolled her eyes and said yes shes mom of the year and she would see me next week.

1. They’re jumping right into it and its BTS Spring Day stage all are pastely beige pink and its cute af this is the youngest group on average and has the small Woojin, Kim Youngjin, Kenta, Seonho and Bae Jinyoung

2. Younjin wants to be center/main vocal eventho hes originally a rapper and I understannd WHY he wants it but to have a rapper as main vocal is…… not clever

3. Holy shit he actually gets to be the main vocal wow I’m shook as hell

4. Seokhoon is making angry eyes at him tho and now Woojin is a shitton better at this checkup and gets to be the new center

5. He has problems hitting the high note though poor baby
