aaa i did!! we had very limited projections and i caught the last one in the nearest theatre (was running late, got there on time but still missed the beginning cause i went to the toilet lmaoo)

it was very nice!!! (genuinely no pun intended hahah) my impression is that it's made to cater to non-fans at least partially since there not only were crowd shots and funky editing choices (you'll laught at the camera spins over halfway through, im sure) but also the inside jokes weren't that many; a part of it is the encore stage and you know they love to fuck around then. i feel like the actual concert was longer than what the movie shows? then again i might be comparing the things we get during the duration of a song when im used to multiple angles from fancams online, you simply cant catch all the shenanigans that happen at once hahah

lil spoiler, dude kisser moments had solid screentime lmaoo

there was a part where i cried and then was laughing a few minutes later :') it was emotional

as for the cinema experience, there werent many people at all but i had to go and ask two girls to shush after 30 minutes of nonstop talking (during songs and ments alike and when it was all so loud too, idk how they were this easy to hear)

there were also these other kids who came in late and clapped and yelled and i was very happy to listen to them since if we werent all shy i think we all wouldve been doing that lmao

the music will really have you pumped, i started off just tapping my foot but at some points i was lip syncing, bopping my head, doing choreos with my hands and shaking in my seat hahah, i even forgot to look at the screen at times

my little advice is to bring earplugs if ou cant handle loud noises cause in our theatre they did selective boosting of the volume at times and it was overwhelming esp since the songs are so heavy instrumental wise (there are some rock arrangements!! youll love it)

all in all a very fun experience even with quite the empty room, i hope the fellow carats in your theatre are fun and you have an amazing time!!!!!!! you have gottt to let me know how it goes, okay? okay!!

ps yes they all look stunning its insane but if youre anything like me jun and wonwoo will floor you

Hi again. I am doing okay despite the circumstances. A lot of drama went down the past month and my mental health really took a hit but I'm starting to bounce back slowly. I had a really rough few weeks after seeing him at his housewarming party and didn't go to work for a whole week bc I could barely function. Then my mom has the bright idea to send him a very scathing message a few weeks later and while I appreciate her having my back, she just doesn't understand what boundaries are and that I didn't want her to do that. Then I told him off for going to a bunch of concerts and stuff even though one of his reasons for breaking up with me was not being able to financially handle a relationship while he went through everything. So he blamed being distant with me on the message from my mom and while I probably wouldn't want to talk to somebody if their mom sent me that message, I'm tired of everyone leaving me bc of her. I told him that and we haven't talked for a week. 😃 I'm trying to focus on myself and get into college and hopefully meet new people and not let my mom push them away. Yesterday I went on a solo shopping trip and it kind of helped my mood to buy some stupid stuff just for myself to bring myself some joy. And I bought myself a Lego set and I built it all by myself which was hard and healing all at the same time bc I always built Legos with him. Who knew little plastic bricks could bring up so many emotions?

second of all, as someone in a very similar situation in regards to the mom factor of it all — i get it. i think the important thing to remember is that other people’s actions do not define us, and the people who matter or care enough about us are going to recognize that. your mother’s actions are not your own; you can’t control her, you cant babysit/stop her from getting involved as she has, and he should know all of this. especially if he cared enough to get to know you, understand you, so on and so forth. it’s super exhausting, and it definitely makes making new friends extremely difficult sometimes. but i think the people meant to stick around are going to see past it all. gonna realize you aren’t your mother, and would rather help you set boundaries rather than just shut you out for what she’s said or done.

i hope you continue to focus on yourself, my dear. the lego building sounds like a really good healing exercise in all honesty! don’t let people ruin things for you has to be my top advice in life ever. there’s so many bands/songs/musicians i struggle to listen to, so many places i won’t even go anymore, even a decade later. and that’s unfair to us — life keeps moving. if he can move on and do all that, you most certainly can.

Hello! Thank you for the holiday wishes - my roommate is the one that actually celebrates Hanukkah, but I’m raising Tucker in a multi-cultural household so we participate too. 😃

I know exactly what Hank and Stella are doing for Christmas. Wednesday night they took the train up to Connecticut (it was supposed to be Thursday, but the weather was so iffy they thought it was better to leave early). They met Becca, Tony, and Ziggy at Grand Central, which Hank grumbled about, but he’s warming up to “the boyfriend” and Stella warned him to play nice. Karen and Fish met them at the station - Fish wore a Santa hat and a shirt with a printed Santa suit on it, because of course he did.

Friday night the kids Fish teaches music to have a concert so they’re all going to watch them play. Hank gets to meet a kid he’s been zoom teaching guitar to for the last two years in person for the first time. He might have an ‘allergy attack’ during the show. At least, that has to be the only reason his eyes are red and weepy.

Christmas Eve, Karen busts out the matching pajama sets she got for everyone, including Ziggy, to take family photos. Fish barbecues steak and lobster (lots of vegetables for Beckster and Tony). The girls have way too much egg nog and decide they must go for a midnight Christmas swim, because the pool is heated so it really doesn’t matter if it’s snowing.

Christmas breakfast is late because everyone is hung over the next morning. Tony printed and framed photos of Becca and Ziggy for everyone. Fish announced that next year, to coincide with his 60th birthday, he was taking everyone on a cruise to the Bahamas. Karen gets Hank a nice bottle of whiskey and Stella a necklace that she designed and made. Hank insisted on getting Fish a novelty apron that says “I like my butt rubbed and my pork pulled” which Stella also insisted she would take zero credit for and if he got it, she wouldn’t be putting her name on it. Hank got it and it was Fish’s favorite gift. Stellas gift to both Fish and Karen was a wine tasting journal and a selection box of French and Italian wines. She also got Becca a new journal, vetoing the How to Break up With Anyone Book that Hank wanted to give her (just as a joke) and a new camera backpack for Tony.

As for what Hank and Stella got each other - that’s behind closed doors only 😉

These days, distributed version control systems like Git have “won the war” of version control. One of the arguments I used to hear when DVCSs were gaining traction was around how easy it is to branch and merge with a VCS like Git. However, I’m a big fan of Trunk-Based Development (TBD), and I want to tell you why.

I’d imagine most folks I work with today have no clue how we used to work. I didn’t use git for version control full time until around 2014 I’d imagine? I found it terribly frustrating to work with at first but know I’m fine with it.

Anywho, up until 2014 I’d worked with so many different version control systems. I’d imagine I worked with CVS the longest and we had one main branch — trunk — and everyone committed directly to it. Yes, breaking the build was definitely frowned upon so you had to be very careful about your commits!

The NASCAR Next Gen Garage 56 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 was a hit from day one in Le Mans, among fans, media and even other competitors. And it was fast on track, consistently putting down lap times that bettered cars in the GT class. The car ran near the top of the GT field for more than 20 hours until a drive line issue sidelined the team for more than an hour. Overall, the car was running at the finish, completed 285 laps on the 8.4-mile circuit and finished 39th in the 62-car field.

This car is an absolute beast and looked out of place at Le Mans. It would also look out of place on a NASCAR track. It is a beautiful car with some really excellent engineering. Oh, yeah, and it is super fast! Good old American V8 horsepower under the hood.

I kind of wish I’d been more of a car guy when I was younger. My Dad certainly is and has built some beautiful cars in his time. His ‘37 Chevy Coup Street Rod is stunning and he used to drag race a 454 powered ‘51 Anglia.

I had the opportunity to learn a lot but didn’t. If I could do it today I’d love to be a mechanic or engineer for a NASCAR, IndyCar, or F1 team. I’d love to specialize in engines. I do find them fascinating and would love to rebuild one again. I rebuilt a Chevy small block in High School my senior year. Yeah, I took auto shop because I wanted to do something “easy.” 😃

Cadillac Racing

After 21 years, Cadillac Racing marked our return to the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 10—11 with our highest finish ever in front of a record audience of 325,000 spectators. Our No. 2 V-Series.R led laps for the first time in Cadillac history and finished on the podium in 3rd, with the No. 3 just behind in 4th, and the No. 311 fighting back for 10th in class.

There’s an article on Jalopnik that includes a video of one of these cars doing a bump start and it sounds mean. It instantly made me think of the Batmobile for some reason.

Now, let’s get more American manufacturers back in NASCAR. Cadillac would be a super interesting entry! I think Dodge is an obvious entry for NASCAR Cup, Xfinity, and Truck series given their history of legendary cars like the Challenger and their RAM trucks.

Cadillac would be super cool to see in NASCAR Cup racing but it may be too lowbrow for them? 🤣

As a compromise we’d like to acquire a smaller RV and do some two week to one month excursions to see if we like it. It would also be great for week long camping trips with the entire family.

Okay this is maybe the dumbest thing ever but I want to get tickets for one of the new shows, I intend to try my best, but there's something in the back of my mind that's like... terrified of the aftermath. The post concert slump is horrible and that really puts me off seeing anyone live but I also know this is very possibly the Last Chance Ever

Not dumb! Good luck with buying tickets for the new shows! Don’t underestimate how many people will try for them like I did, ha. Definitely have your phone and computer/laptop/tablet/whatever you have that has Internet access at the ready. Have other people try for you too if they’re willing! I remember there was two other people trying for me and I still was the only one who managed to get in for the date I tried for, but it was Hell. Just thinking back to me buying tickets for the tour gives me anxiety, ha.

I understand that about the aftermath though! That’s understandable. It’s kind of the opposite for me. Like, yeah, it sucks once it’s all over and done for, but that’s why I want to see them as much as I can. It could possibly be the last time. Also, being a fan for 15 years at this point, and never seeing them live, I’m more excited and thrilled to see my favorite band more then anything. I’ll always have those memories and pictures/videos to hold onto whenever I feel sad about it being over. Perhaps it can be the same for you when you get down over it?
