sung hanbin he's the most well known zb1. he went viral for 'hating' on zumblr member venom (everybody knows he's utterly in love with her). he also writes fanfictions but he's more open about it. probably cries every night thinking about zumblrs future disbandment. he works in a coffeeshop and makes sure to regularly play zumblr songs in order to promote them further. he has like hundreds of fellow zb1 friends and moots online. he claims that he biases somebody else, but everybody knows that his bias is venom.

seok matthew he's the sweetest fan for real. he streams and votes a lot, he would feel guilty if not. he likes buying the albums and always makes sure to preorder them so he could receive extra benefits. he always has a photocard in his phone case and changes it regularly. he cried while watching the dp999 finale, even though his pick made it. he likes to upload funny videos about zumblr onto youtube (zumblr out of context eg) and has a big following too. his zumblr lightstick is his most beloved possession. his bias is chou, obviously.

kim taerae he's literally the most delulu out of all of them. he might not seem like it, but he definitely is. while hanbin and jiwoong are the ones writing the fanfictions, he's the one who's constantly reading them. he loves covering zumblr songs and uploading his singing onto youtube and tiktok. taerae rewatches delulu planet 999 often and is constantly sad about all the eliminated trainees. he really likes to trade his photocards for no specific reason. he's incredibly bad at voting and streaming though. he is an ot9.

shen ricky he's the kinda stan that owns EVERYTHING. he rich fr. albums? owns every single version of every album. seasons greeting? he has it. merch? best believe he buys every piece possible. concert tickets? he's spoiling himself with vip tickets. he has won multiple phone calls too and every other broke stan is incredibly jealous of him. he's talked to every member so far and literally went viral on multiple platforms for his obsession with zumblr because he posted about it. his bias is irene, as she's just as rich as him.

kim gyuvin he only speaks in zumblr references and has annoyed friends into becoming zb1s too. he runs a meme page / very popular fan page for zumblr. every other zb1 knows him. zumblr has even mentioned him in lives before. he buys every album (but only one version. he's kinda broke.) and decorates his room with some fan articles. he likes learning the dances. he goes to karaoke bars regularly and always puts zumblr songs on, his favorite being 'never', the solo song from chou. gyuvin changes his bias like every single day.

park gunwook he's the friend gyuvin annoyed into becoming a zb1. he started watching delulu planet 999 when it was already too late and almost ending and he really regretted not tuning in earlier. he's a big zb1 now even though his #1 pick (tea) didn't make it. but he's still a bit more chill compared to some other members. he doesn't buy albums because he wants to save up to go to one of their concerts instead. he streams zumblrs music kind of unintentionally as it's always playing on loop while he's his doing homework. he doesn't bias anyone in the group. (missing tea hours)

han yujin he watches all youtube videos about them while he's doing his homework. he once scribbled the zumblr logo on a test sheet and got an extra point because the teacher is also a zb1 (biased). he cries often because the maknae- eris- is younger than him. he likes to do dancing covers and uploads them on tiktok. he always saves up money in order to buy some albums or merch. he reads zumblr fluff whenever he's sad. has won a phone call once and made the member 'fall in love' with him as he's just too cute. his bias is eris.

How did you feel about how Lbfad handled Dongfang qingcang’s dad?

I’m kind of up and down on it.

There’s aspects of it I really love, but there’s also a very slight edge of apologism? Maybe? Maybe not though! The show never tries to act like his behavior is okay, but we do get the impression that DFQC ‘understands why he did it’ even if it’s not acceptable. I think in the end, the fact that DFQC didn’t kick that ball back says a lot about how we are meant to view him though. It will never be okay. He should not be forgiven.

I believe what the show wants us to see is his father as less an individual problem and instead something bigger, a result and perpetuation of the cycle of violence created by the eternal war between the Moon Tribe and Shuiyuntian, and how since ancient times the person his father was is the kind of person you were groomed to be as leader of the Moon Tribe. So yes, he’s terrible, but in a sense, he’s the legacy of the world they live in. DFQC’s dad may never have had his emotions removed, but all warmth and love in him was still destroyed by his dedication to his ‘duty.’

Young DFQC wasn’t that type of person. And he was changed and transformed to be in such a horrible way because of that.

And thus DFQC himself also became a part of the cycle of violence and did cruel things (though no child abuse obviously 🙃), so when DFQC cries and says ‘I don’t blame him’, I believe he’s just saying ‘I understand why this happened.’ Note that he never FORGIVES him.

I do think Xiao Lanhua’s actions can look frustrating. She’s definitely the headstrong hero type that ends up inadvertently crossing DFQC’s boundaries in this arc. I would ask people to remember why XLH is in such disbelief about everything we see on the surface:

-She has never had parents. She’s legit got a bit of a complex about this lack of background; the fact that she’s essentially a no one from nowhere. It weighs on her. She’s been alone all her life, and it’s difficult for her to understand this situation where someone did have parents and has only contempt for them. There must be a missing piece. She’s super naive about this, of course. But she has no experience with it.

-She does not believe the story we know, that DFQC just straight up assassinated his father. She doesn’t think he is that kind of person. And on this front, she’s right.

-She’s already falling in love with him and sees the pain this must be causing him. She just wants to help him deal with that. She can be clumsy in her approach, even inappropriate, but we know DFQC is also guilty on that front. At several points.

Outside of the ‘is it apologist or not’ argument, I really love that the show goes into the difficulties and trauma DFQC faced recovering his emotions. It’s not just a magic fix! Emotions are HARD.

The arc is kind of a tough watch, not because of lack of quality, but just because it is frankly brutal. DFQC is at his most awful in episode sixteen. If I were to skip an episode on rewatch, it would be this one. He’s mean and angry and basically a throbbing open wound. It’s genuinely upsetting and not in a ‘hurts so good’ way like angst can be. I do think the show does a good job showing the trauma of abuse and how it can echo.

It’s worth it for eighteen though. Honestly cathartic in so many ways (and there’s plenty of cute and funny moments mixed in). The breakdown in his father’s bedroom is one of the best moments in the series. The moment where we get to see Xunfeng eat crow as he learns the truth about his brother? Magical. Love how bold XLH is in that scene. Seeing DFQC start to accept the return of his emotions and the value wherein, and even reaching out to XLH with help on how to handle this stuff? Perfect.

God ok. So I rewatched the season 3 finale right. This was my first rewatch since bingeing the entire show in 2 days with no breaks except sleep last spring so obviously this was my first REAL watch of it that wasn't over emotional and sleep deprived. And I still cried my eyes out.

That finale (and the third season as a whole) is such a perfect piece of television for so many reasons but I'm just gonna be rambling about some of my favorite details for a second so just hang tight

Guillermo interrupting himself at the beginning with "and I deserve it" is SO UNDERRATED I'm obsessed with him

Laszlo draws such a realistic line of putting up a front of apathy even though we as the audience know how close he and Colin got that season. Like obviously he's mourning but it's not cartoonishly obvious that he's lying like we would see from Nadja. He's just unusually quiet.

Colin's pictures being torn out jumpscared me. Not a fun thing to forget about when you aren't emotionally prepared

Review so far of "Will Love In Spring" (ongoing Cdrama). Spoilers below up until episode 8.

I'm glad I didn't let the poster influence me because I don't feel like it's a very accurate depiction of the drama.

Poster makes it seem like a very run of the mill romance. THANK GOODNESS IT IS NOT.

"Will love in spring" has unexpectedly been one of the best depictions of grief and death and life in a drama that I've seen. And I've seen many many dramas at this point in my life so, suffice it to say, it is incredibly well done.

Pros so far :

- Fair depiction of disability. Zhuang Jie is an amputee but there's just enough emphasis on the realities of living with a prosthetic (including the detail about her needing baths) without it being the ENTIRETY of her personality. Every drama needs to take notes on this.

- Blended family without drama. Although some may argue this is not realistic, I've become really tired of the exaggerated dynamics of step siblings/children/parents having manufactured arguments. He Shu is a wonderful stepfather while the siblings have an adorable relationship with each other. The mom is quite realistic as well, tough but loving.

- Interesting career choices - there's definitely morbid aspects of the hybrid mortician/embalmer job of Chen Maidong but that's not the main point. Yes, he's seen a lot of death and grieving but it also dictates how he views life and how to live life, with respect towards the dead

Cons (sort of) :

- This is not a con for me but I think some people may find the pacing very slow. To me, this is a VERY deliberate choice. It's a tried and true slice of life drama, not a romance. You'll be disappointed if you go into it with the expectations of a romance but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the many details that show what life is like in Nanping

- There's a LOT of death and discussions around it. This is not a con for me but I do tend to avoid hurt/comfort. I literally cried for an entire hour during episode 7 and my dogs were Very Concerned lol

- My actual one 'con' is that there's some very obvious nationalism that seeps in, especially regarding the push for the younger generation to return to "smaller" hometowns like Nanping instead of staying in cities like Shanghai/Beijing etc. To me, this shows a lot of government influence if not general Chinese nationalism vs a natural flow in the drama. There's definitely manufactured nostalgia that tends to be jarring but I've been ignoring that for the most part.

I do need to go and rewatch some episode of ShenLi because my chest still feels really spicy after watching episode 7 and 8 LOL So I'll get back to my thoughts on that but I hope other people give this new drama a shot.

Last but not least is a shoutout to legit the entire cast for their well-seasoned acting. Augh. Definitely a big reason why the drama is making a big impact on me.

this story was so fucking down my alley, bro. minimal drama and pure character development & analysis for 21 episodes? sign me the fuck up!!! the themes were so beautiful, about forgiveness & growth, chosen family & kindness always winning... I ATE THAT SHIT UPPP!!! such a heartwarming & honestly important lakorn for choosing depth above drama.

this is the least toxic lakorn couple I've ever seen, apart from maybe the one in to me, it's simply you which I also loved! they just truly love & respect each other and were written incredibly well. even though they're vanilla af, I didn't get bored at all?? LOVE THEM!

bruh, the characters!!! truly the first time in a lakorn where I truly love not only the main characters, but the entire cast. pennueng is so fucking soft, mata is legit the queen of my heart, trichat owns me entirely and is one of the most complex & interesting ever in my eyes, pang was also super complex & badass, and matalada's entire family????? are my family now. I absolutely adored them, and it was by far one of the best queer representation in lakorns!

the chemistry was beyond incredible! the main ship is perfect & truly feel like soulmates, and the side ship was SO HOT & iconic together, I was stanning! two different vibes but they both ATE!

the acting was PERFECT! everyone did an amazing role, james jirayu perfect in the role of the sad & stilted doctor, toey jarinporn impressed me so much for the first role I've seen her in, she was perfect for mata & absolutely made this role hers, the pang actress was great, I loved seeing the dad actor in a queer role, he honestly ate, the aunt vee actress ATE, especially considering it's her first role ever, the grandma??? fucked me up, I cried so much in her scenes lol. but the one who impressed me the most is ryu wachirawich. I only knew him from 9x9, but BITCHHHHH. he absolutely BODIED trichat & made him his in a way that has made me an immediate stan even though it usually takes me 2 to 3 roles to stan someone! he was so good & I'm looking forward to his next roles!

cons:

I was so confused by trichat ending up with riri. while I liked them together & they had been built up to have some tension since their first meeting... obviously trichat & pang should've ended up together??? in fact, I was certain they did??? didn't they mend things together & go on a double date with the main couple??? that whole thing was so confusing bc tri & pang had been far more developed and also built up to be soulmates like the main ship, so I was so disappointed by this choice of ending. ESPECIALLY since riri is canonically queer & used to like mata, so I wish we'd have seen her end up with a girlfriend, which would've added to the representation of the show.

similarly, I think the whole tri x pang storyline was made overly complicated for no reason. what was actually my favorite ship of the two quickly became a bit slow & repetitive after a while, and I believe they could've conveyed the same type of story better.

I wish we'd have seen at least one queer character get a love interest. this lakorn focuses more on the 'identity' aspect of queerness rather than the 'sexuality' aspect, which I found very interesting & worth exploring, but considering half of the characters are queer & they're basically the only ones ending up single feels kinda weird. just something they could've improved.

would I rewatch it: yes!

It was honestly such a joy to watch a lakorn where the couple is not toxic, people's decisions make sense most of the time & that actually created realistic and beautiful characters, not caricatures. I loved every moment of it! I cried, I laughed, I screamed... definitely one of the best lakorns out there & truly such a gem to watch!

goodbye my princess: OMFG SO MUCH CRYING. if you like pain and main chars doing dumb shit and thinking it's all for love yeaaaa. also a bad end so fyi. i was so bitter about. refuse to rewatch it again but dont regret watching it.

nirvana in fire 1 & 2: less romance but i love the politics in it esp in nirvana 1!!!! everyone is soooo smart and the mind games is LEGIT in this.

scarlet heart: i--i love this so much. it's achingly poignant and the chars are so complicated and the ending will ripped your heart out.

under the queen's umbrella: the only kdrama on this list and IT'S SOOOO FUN but also just gut-wrenching. the family feels all to this and how chars are so multidimesional even the badies that im so glad to see some of them getting redeem while knowing that some ppl are just fucking evil ya know??? the family vibes in this is just chefs kiss. also super great politic and harem fighting for the crown.

the king's woman: this like just trashy romance but i fucking love it. i love ppl being awful and doing awful things for love. no fucking redemption and it's great. also reba is soooo pretty I LOVE HER.

it took me a week to watch Good Omens season 2. I mistimed my S1 rewatch and then the week after it came out was insanely busy* so I couldn't think about it at first. I watched the first ep Thursday 3/8, then the day after my son went to his other parent's house so I could watch the rest in one go.

I think maybe that wasn't the best of ideas?

It's been 9 days now. 9 days in which I have struggled to think about anything else. 9 days in which I have signed up to Tumblr, which I've been avoiding since the site launched. Thought I was too old, ha. 9 days in which I've been away to visit family but during which I've sneaked views and rewatched the show with my son** and started to reread the book and watched Staged and cried. 9 days in which one of my friends *died*, unexpectedly but also not, and still all I can do is cling onto this frigging show. All I can do is watch the kiss gif and the chest stroke (that I legit didn't even spot) and Az grabbing Crowley's waist (that I very definitely did).

I want to know why this has grabbed so many of us so hard. I mean, partly because fucking Neil has BROKEN ALL OUR FRIGGING HEARTS, so of course we're finding comfort together. But.

My friend didn't have a person, a partner to share her life with. I always thought that wasn't fair. I know she would have liked to find someone. A piece of my grief will always be sadness that she deserved that and didn't find it.

I don't have a person either. I thought I'd found my soulmate, but after two decades of thinking our souls fit together I realised he was a bit of a shit, actually, and that I deserved better than someone who was just plain mean to me. I didn't want our kid thinking that was expected or normal.

And I think, maybe. When I see Crowley and Aziraphale gazing at each other with such longing and love and affection and want and lust, it gives me hope that even this late 40s perimenopausal AuDHD mess might actually find someone, some day, who looks at her with love like that.

I dunno. It's been the best part of a decade being single, in that time I've realised I'm autistic, realised I'm not straight, lived through a plague, entirely broken down. I'm so much more broken than I used to be. I feel like... why would anyone ever want me.

But maybe they will?

Are you named after anyone?!? I am not. I was actually given my name because my mom didnt want me to be named after the family name. Lol

When was the last time you cried?!? Like cried cried?!? Because i it would have to be when i had to end a friendship of mine a couple of months ago. I got choked up recently at something i was watching on tv lol

Do you have kids?!? I dont really talk about this publicly but i do! Just 1 but i want to respect their privacy and let them disclose information about themselves when they get to be that age where they start exploring the internet etc.

Do you use sarcasm a lot?!? Nnnoooooo, i neeeever use sarcasm 😏

What sport do you play/have played?!? My parents signed me up for basketball and soccer when i was little. But that was for a season each and then i pretty much stopped what with my parents being broke. I boulder every now and then and thats fun!!!!

Whats the first thing you'd notice about other people?!? Its aallllll about the vibe. Lol its always different for every and its always cool to see how it comes through for everyone and how it changes once people get comfortable with you.

Scary movies or Happy Endings?!? Today im digging scary movies over happy endings lol but it always changes. They have Evil Dead on Max now so I've been wanting to rewatch it even though it traumatized the shit outta me lol

Any special talents?!? So i legit Googled what could technically construed as a "talent" and i gave up after a minute haha i know how to knit, crotchet, play the guitar, bass, ukulele, speak a couple of different languages, i can cook, i dont know what else lol do those count?

Do you have any pets?!? There are 2 cats in my home, one of which prefers my company over anyone else living here. Her name is Georgia and shes a cat. Shes not that old but she has the personality of an old lady. No loud noises or personalities. Shes just trying to relax and i think thats why she gravitates towards me.

✨Tranquil Tuesday✨

I say that- my work day was absolute garbage😂 My fragile little form can’t take anymore colleague drama, let alone getting shouted at by patients every 5 minutes. It’s draining. Anywho, I rewatched almost the entirety of Helluva Boss when my new nebula light and instantly felt better. Also, bestie sent me a Sir Pentious shirt in the post for my belated birthday and I legit cried. And he’s beautiful😭
