Comfort in the Horrors

this is kinda inspired by the idea that if Morpheus were to become too overwhelmed, he would go back to the glass sphere (fishbowl) because he was there for so long and it's familiar.

Not so-fun psychology fact, Victims of abusers and kidnappings/abductions will at times stay with the abusers due to fear of violent retaliation, and in the case of abductions victims can develop Stockholm syndrome. A condition where a victim will 'willfully' stay with the abuser because they believe they are the safest with them despite the abuse they faced. This is often developed after years of captivity.

Im making a whole post on this cuz Tumblr is being doodoo and wont let me reply to comments, but based on my recent EOA post, yes ive seen season 3, but I didnt think it was ENOUGH drama and suffering for Elena cuz I am deranged. And the other thing when I said Elena is on track to becoming a serial killer, YES IM NOT JOKING, SHE IS ON TRACK. I recently did hours worth of research reading articles on what happens to the human brain during isolation, and the damaged it does, and applied that to Elena, and all that summed up, shes 🤏 this close to going into psychosis and going on a killing spree no joke.

I am admittedly very new to your work but I love everything so far. I love how your writing makes me lower my phone and contemplate before shaking my head and going back to reading. I have been exploring the horror genre lately and this is maybe peak psychological horror. I kinda love it. You are very good at taking apart a person's emotions. It wreaks my brain but leaves me wanting more; thats how I know its good. My love for psychology and good writing is perfect for here

one of my favorite things to do in limited perspective is write sentences about the things someone doesn't do. he doesn't open his eyes. he doesn't reach out. i LOVE sentences like that. if it's describing the narrator, it's a reflection of their desires, something they're holding themselves back from. there's a tension between urge and action. it makes you ask why they wanted or felt compelled to do that, and also why they ultimately didn't. and if it's describing someone else, it tells you about the narrator's expectations. how they perceive that other person or their relationship. what they thought the other person was going to do, or thought the other person should have done, but failed to. negative action sentences are everything.
