Four Dresses
a JAKE x MC one shot that picks up sometime after episode 10 and the end of the game.
18+Warnings: slight sexual innuendo and a discussion of grief and its processes.
A woman needs a minimum of four good dresses in her closet: one for a funeral, one for a wedding, one for church, and one for a date. Well, at least that is what my mom always said.
I didn't always listen to my mom's advice. Today, I am glad I did. Since I met my friends from Duskwood, I have needed all four in quite a short period of time.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The first dress was black. A long somber a-line devoid of sleeves and much personality. Whether Richie deserved to be honored or not, which is something that my soul hasn't settled on yet, he was a person that I loved. His funeral was quiet. Family and friends gathered to say goodbye. Jessy couldn't face it and Dan refused to come, staying by her side. Jake was still in hiding, but in my heart, I knew that he was safe. I would wait for him because really, there would never be another to speak to the corners of my soul. Tears were shed for the person that Richie had been, one that I had only seen glimpses of. Hannah was inconsolable, though Thomas was doing his best to cheer her. She carried a large amount of unnecessary guilt for what had happened both with Richie and before all of that. Lily and Cleo were quiet hostesses and made sure everyone's sorrow was diffused by full bellies. It was a hard day, but it allowed us to begin the process of moving on, and it allowed me to heal a little.
I brought Jessy and Dan back food and we talked and ate. Dan and I drank a little as was our custom. Jessy finally cried. It was the cry of longing and regret, one of missing the things that will never be. She remembered him in her own way. Hers were happy thoughts that were destroyed by deception, a conundrum that she couldn't make sense of. Dan, ever faithful, held her hand and listened to her speak of her love for Richie while his heart was breaking for both her and himself.
Somewhere in the early morning, my phone buzzed. It was a simple message from an unknown number.
I know today was hard. They are the luckiest of all to have you in their life. I am equally as fortunate. I will find my way to you. Soon, but not soon enough. I love you, MC.

The second dress was peach-colored silk, the dressmaker called it sunset blush. My hair was up in a loose bun and adorned with eucalyptus leaves and peach-colored ranunculus. Lily and I stood under the canopy watching as Thomas and Hannah professed their undying love to each other. The setting was beautiful with an ivy-covered brick wall set as their backdrop. The wedding was outside, under the stars with Edison lights strung about. There was something simple and pure about the way that both the decoration and the ceremony displayed the elegance of Hannah. I looked around at people who know the couple watching faces of mixed emotion. Some were truly happy for them, others concerned this was a decision made too soon. Still, others hoped this wasn't just a bandage attempting to heal Hannah's pain. I saw a figure in the back, hiding almost entirely in the shadows. It must be him. A smile crossed my face and I tried not to detract from the vows. This was not my moment, I reminded myself. But it was, in a way, because as I stood there, he ever so slowly stepped into the light and showed me his handsome face. The world around me faded away at that moment. It took all that I had in me to not run to him. He smiled and my heart melted. Then he held up his finger to his lips and stepped back out of the light. I could still feel him there as he watched his sister as she exchanged her vows, I could still feel his eyes on me. My mind drifted to the day when he could have his arms around me. The ceremony ended and he was gone. I looked for him and found nothing. My phone alerted me of a message from Jake.
My love, that is what you are, the one that holds my broken heart. I know I said I will find a way for us to meet and I will. It is not safe yet, for you or for me. It took all of my willpower to keep my feet from running to you and taking you into my arms. I can't wait for the day when we can be unencumbered and can freely express our love for one another. Soon, it has to be soon. You were a vision today. More beautiful than I could imagine in my wildest dreams. I could not take my eyes off of you. The look on your face when you saw me filled me with pride and gladness. I will find a way for us. I simply can not be without you. Don't worry about my safety. I won't let anything happen to me that will cause our eternal separation. Dance and have fun. Soon, you will be in my arms. You already dwell in my heart.
A tear fell as I read the message, but I wiped it away. His wishes were mine as well. We would be together soon. He promised. I had some dancing to do and this dress was perfect for that. I approached my friends. Jessy was still recovering from the ordeal, but tears came less and less. I slipped off my heels and dragged her to the dance floor where the group of us flung our arms and stepped on each other's toes until the early morning. Finally, we sent Thomas and Hannah off to their new lives amidst confetti and cheers. Hannah was happier than I had seen her. Thomas was beaming with pride. Their love was unhindered and innocent, despite the turn the last year of their life had taken. When we were done cleaning up, Cleo brought us a cake with tears in her eyes. I knew she missed her best friend. Weddings are always bittersweet, goodbyes mixed with the joys of new beginnings. I wrapped my arm around her and we sat and waited for the sadness to subside. Each of us carried our own sorrows, but the peace of being with people who cared for us made the pain bearable. We stayed that way as the sun came up, not talking just being.
As I climbed into bed that night, visions of Jake danced in my head. I reread the text about a million times, like a schoolgirl reading her first love letter. I couldn't help it. Jake was my match in every way and he was finding his way to me.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The third dress was a maybe too low-cut emerald beauty that hung close to my skin. Its long, tight sleeves showed off the hours I spent at the gym impatiently waiting for Jake to find and keep me. My black stilettos showed the hours I had invested in running as a way to get rid of the nervous energy I felt while waiting for him to return to me.
It felt naughty to wear such a dress to church on Christmas morning, but I liked to mix the naughty with the nice. I loathe being a stereotype. I'm not much of a church girl, but it is Christmas and I should pay my respects to the Creator. When Cleo asked me to come, I couldn't refuse, but the cheeky me had to make sure my attendance was noticed. I drove to church and greeted the gang. Everyone had shown up knowing that we would go to my place afterward and exchange gifts and share the day. I guess we all felt like we owed it to someone. Dan was in a tie, which didn't even happen at the wedding, his hand on Jessy's back, pushing her toward the door. She saw me and we exchanged hugs. Dan and I did the same. He had been a true friend through all of this, standing unfailingly by Jessy's side and by mine.
I have this habit of always leaving the seat beside me empty just in case he can sneak in next to me. I have done it since the day at the mine and my friends know it is my way. Even if it was all that we have, a few stolen moments of hand-holding and feeling the warmth of each other, it would be enough to sustain me until the next stolen moment or until he is free. The choir began to sing and I could feel a body slide in next to mine. I was about to tell him that the seat was saved when I felt a hand grab mine and intertwine our fingers. I looked over and saw that it was my Jake. No one else noticed as the warmth rose from my hand through my body, into my soul. I was afraid to move. Afraid that he would leave.
He leaned over and whispered in my ear which caused me to shiver. "MC, my love, that dress is incredible. You are incredible. I love you. Merry Christmas." He placed a quick kiss on my cheek and squeezed my hand. I looked into his ocean eyes as he released my hand and disappeared. Before the choir finished singing, I lost my heart. I didn't know how I could continue this. I was about to give in to the sadness, and I probably would have had I not gotten distracted as the pastor began to speak of love that came in the form of a baby.
Everyone filters into my house slowly. Some had gone home to change. Some had come directly, bringing food and snacks with them. The dress code was pajamas. I bought us all matching ones to wear. They were hideous, with snowflakes and reindeer, but the rule for the day is that each one of us brought a family tradition that we all had to participate in. My tradition was these pajamas. I bought a pair for Jake, hoping that he would show up. I never forgot to be prepared for his return to me. Dan looked the most uncomfortable, It made me chuckle. I needed that today. Cleo's tradition was a yule log, which we all ate greedily, Dan's was switching from whisky to peppermint schnapps for the day, and so on. We all participated in these activities and opened presents. It felt like a family. It was wonderful, but my mind kept wandering to the fact that Jake wasn't here. I had all of the hope in the world for our eventual union, but I missed him. I missed the feeling of his hand in mine, of his breath on my ear.
My phone rang, I answered immediately.
"MC, Baby, how is your Christmas?"
"Good, I am here with all of the people I love except you. I miss you, Jake. I can't wait until Christmases and all of the other days are spent together. What about your Christmas? What did you do today?"
"Well, I saw you, that was the best part of the day, then I grabbed some Chinese food which made me miss you more," he paused, "We won't have to wait much longer, that is a promise. I love you, MC and I really need to be with you."
"That will be the best Christmas present I could ask for. I do have a gift for you."
"I just need you in my arms," Jake says longingly. "That will be the best present I could ask for."
"I understand you completely. I have to go watch "Home Alone" with the gang. It is Jessy's tradition. I can bring you on the phone with me? That would be fun."
"I would, but I can't right now. I will talk to you soon. Have fun with your friends. I just wanted to let you know that I love you and that I am counting the minutes until we can share everything together."
"Merry Christmas, Jake."
"Take care of yourself, Love. I will be dreaming of you tonight and that green dress. We will talk soon."
We watched the movie and laughed and sang. We did all of the things friends do on Christmas. I watched them sleeping on my floor, some in sleeping bags, some not. Jessy's head was on Dan's chest, his arm holding her close. He had a smile on his face while he slept. I was so thankful for my friends that had become family.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The fourth dress is my favorite dress. It is blue, the color of his eyes, It is a form-fitting dress that leaves nothing to the imagination. I am wearing the same shoes from Christmas. They make me five inches taller than my normal height. I leave my hair loose, flowing down my back.
He had texted earlier today. It was a short text.
I am taking you on a date. Finally. 4:30. Be ready. I love you.
The clock says I have five minutes when I hear the doorbell ring.
I open the door and see him standing there. He is wearing a green shirt and some black pants but that is about all that I see before he ushers himself inside the apartment, dropping his bag on the floor. As he walks toward me, he shuts and locks the door. I am worried. Is he running from someone?
"I am sorry that I slammed the door. I just wanted to be able to do this properly." He says as he locks his lips on mine. I thought it was incredible to hold his hand, but this was life-altering. My knees go weak as he pulls me closer, refusing to leave the kiss. One of his hands holds my neck, allowing him to support my head while the kisses grow deeper and deeper. His other hand rests on my back, he slowly lowers it down and it settles just below my waist. I am caught up in the moment enjoying the feeling of his arms around me, of his lips on mine.
His lips move from my mouth to my cheek. I miss the contact, but am grateful for a chance to catch my breath. I don't know how to do it while I am still in his arms. I can feel every part of his hand that touches mine. I can not escape the feeling of him on me.
"I have been waiting to kiss you properly for too long. I couldn't wait to... I messed up your makeup." He brushes a strand of hair off of my face and then traces my face with his finger. "My, you are gorgeous, it should be illegal to own a dress like this." His hand slides down to my hip slowly. His eyes move over my body in a way that gives me chills. His hand stays there, on my hip, dangerously close to my ass. I refuse to move farther from him.
We stay still for a long time just watching and sharing all of our love as we stare in each other's eyes.
"You are here? Is it safe?" I ask, breaking the silence. I suddenly realize that I have no idea how he is able to be here.
"Love, I am safe for good and so are you. I would never have come here if it brought any danger your way."
"So, you..."
"I told you that I would find a way for us to be together, Do you still want to be with me?'
"Absolutely," I say as I throw my arms around his neck. I lean back and kiss his face repeatedly. They are sloppy kisses, but I don't care. This is the happiest moment I can remember.
He laughs and smiles. "Are you always this enthusiastic.?"
"No, but I really really want to be together... with you."
He grabs my face with both of his large hands and pulls me in for another kiss. This one is lighthearted, almost playful.
"So, do you need to fix your makeup so we can go out?" His feet still haven't moved from their place.
"I have a better idea."
"Oh yeah?' He says raising one eyebrow.
"Let's stay home and call in for food. We can watch a movie, or whatever." I wink.
"Well, I did want to take you out, show you off, and enter the world without being afraid of getting caught, but there should be plenty of time for that. Are you sure that you don't mind staying in?"
"I don't mind, in fact, these shoes are killing me. I wore them for the wow factor."
"They are certainly wow." He checks out my legs approvingly.
I slide off the shoes and head to the bedroom. "I just need to get out of this dress."
"I could help you with that?" He say slyly.
"Yeah, if you can catch me." I tease over my shoulder. He runs and quickly scoops me up in his arms, carrying me to the bedroom where we proceed to liberate ourselves from our clothing and test out the firmness of the mattress.
We lay on the bed in the afterglow, clothes scattered about, sheets tangled, and our skin glistening, he looks at me.
"I was going to take it slow with you, you know." He says in earnest, rubbing his hands through his hair, "I was going to come here and take you dinner, wine and dine you, drop you off and give you a nice kiss goodnight. Maybe bring you coffee in the morning to ask you for a second date, and a third. But in that damn dress, I couldn't resist your charm." He looks at me softly, then his eyes turn dark, "...and your ass, how do you have an ass that perfect?" He rolls me over to admire it.
"Well, I had a lot of extra energy waiting for you all of these months so I joined the gym. I was there a lot. And for the dress, you can thank my mom. She always made sure that I had a date dress in my closet."
"I will have to remember to thank her when we meet." He rolls us over so that he is on top of me and meets my eyes. His hand goes to my waist and he leans in to kiss me.
Before my brain leaves me to mind-numbing bliss, I think about this man and how much I can feel his love. I think about my mom and this blue dress that lay on the floor. I think about the year that I have had. One that has changed me in ways too numerous to count.
I lean in and kiss him back. The future looks bright and hopeful and full of joy. I wonder if I need a dress for that? I should call my mom.

⚠️Warning: prostitution, murder, drugs and alcohol ⚠️
She walked the foggy streets with a heart as heavy as lead. She was alone and her instincts were all screaming to turn around and call off the mission. Everything in her resisted this operation, but she ignored it. She kept walking in the direction of her destination, the lair of a disgusting man who only spreaded injustice. A wind blew through the wet trees and the rain broke from the leaves and fell down on Janice, causing goose bumps on her skin. She may be the best of the White Nights, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t terrified , at the end of the day she was only human. That fear in her threatened to break out, but she squashed it like a beetle under her shoe. She kept walking, with a false confidence in her stride that she didn’t feel, when a fox chasing a mouse ran across the path bringing her stumbling to a halt.
She sighed and spoke to herself, "Even nature tries to stop me."
Just as her instincts were winning her internal battle, a shot rang out from far away. The fox from earlier ran timorously back into his hiding place and whimpered softly. Janice turned to face the shot and saw a thousand birds flee the area from the trees. All the birds fled from the horrific event. She shook herself and started walking again. Again and again she was stopped, whether it was by a wild animal living out its nightlife or whether it was a branch that fell to the ground.
Mother nature didn't want her to go there.
"I have to do this! Please understand that!" she whispered into the wind. She didn't know who she was speaking to, whether it was nature, the universe, or her own mind. She only knew one thing, she was alone. She felt almost lost, knowing she might not  come back to her beloved son, Jake. She turned around one last time to take a look at her hometown.
Duskwood.
There was nowhere to hide, as the city lights burned.
That's why the villains' hideouts were never found in the city. It would be far too easy to find them there.
Another shot rang out, and by reflex she reached into the slit on the right side of her skirt and felt her gun under her garter. If Arthur found out that she stole his gun for this mission, no, he wouldn't find out. In fact, she knew she probably wouldn't need a gun at all, but that wasn't why she stole it.
She wanted something of him with her.
From Arthur.
So she wouldn't feel completely lost and alone.
She listened to the rush of water from the river beside her to steady her mind. The owls sang their songs and she listened to them with a smile as she walked on with firm steps. After she finally got rid of all negative feelings she went on.
What was she willing to lose?
She covered her wounds from the past, but underneath them a million voices in her head screamed, "Stop, now!" but she didn't listen. She tore herself from her peaceful life for this mission. She left all the thoughts for her loved ones at home so she could focus on the mission alone.
She came closer and closer to the unfamiliar building. With a pounding heart, she entered her enemy's territory and climbed over the fence that surrounded  a cozy brown shack. Before attempting to enter the cabin, she snuck  a look around the property.
At the entrance hung a wall lamp, in which a candle was close guttering out. The walls were very dark wood and ivy snaked up one of the square windows. In the reflection of a window she saw a flame blazing from a nearly burned out candle. To the right of the building were several carriages with horses.
This was no ordinary bar.
This was a whorehouse.
In the backyard, she heard two men arguing loudly.
"Why did you shoot her twice?"
"She was pregnant by me! You know what happens to married men who sleep with a prostitute!"
"Maybe you should have just held back, you miserable bastard! And how could you be so sure that she's pregnant by you, huh?"
"She was new here and I was her first guest."
"You are disgusting! Cheating on your loyal wife who would die for you. You should be punished with death!"
The man drew a pistol and pointed it at the married man. Janice decided to move from the scene. She had to concentrate. Just as she was about to enter the bar, a shot sounded, goosebumps spread over her skin. The poor woman had to die because of this disgusting man's horniness. She shook her head, said an inward prayer for the poor woman, and finally entered the bar.
Arriving at the bar, she heard the moaning of different women from different little rooms. No one seemed to mind, which was no wonder given how drunk all the men here were. She saw a man paying a prostitute, before they disappeared into a back room.
It wasn't long before she was approached by a man. He offered her money and wanted to satisfy himself on her. He held out money to her and, not waiting, started kissing her neck. When she took the money from him, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her into a side room. He smelled of drugs, alcohol, and his eyes were slightly red. He was an easy target and she would pound him with questions.
As he locked the door behind him with the key, he turned to Janice, pushed her onto the bed behind her and climbed on top of her. He kissed her all over and ran his hand up her skirt, but faltered when he felt her garter and the gun on it.
"You are not a whore," he stated, looking at her with wide eyes.
"You guessed it, and now I want answers," she ordered while he was still lounging on her body. He didn't move, forcing her to bang her head against his. While both moaned in pain, she didn't let it stop her for long and kicked his crotch hard. He pulled away from her and jumped up, clutching his hand to his crotch, hissing in pain. She stood up, taking advantage of his vulnerability and flipped his body over with his back to the bed and kicked him in the stomach, dropping him onto the bed. She immediately mounted him and squeezed his hands under her knees while he pressed his lip tightly up in pain. She smiled softly at him and he swallowed hard, realizing his situation.
"First question, what kind of wine did you drink?"
"Wha- Why are you asking me such a weird question?"
"Answer me," she commanded.
"Red wine!" He blurted out.
"There you go, very simple. Next question, what drugs did you take?"
"I didn't do drugs!"
She laughed mockingly. "Oh my dear, you can smell from miles away that you've been on drugs. So, I'm listening!"
"Who the hell are you?"
"None of your business. Answer me."
"I can't believe I'm asking this, but will you sleep with me in exchange for answers?" He asked.
She smiled softly at him. "But of course." She kissed him as a promise, he hummed deeply.
"Fine." He sighed. "It was the drug Madak. Happy now?"
"Not quite yet. Who are the drugs from?"
"By God's blood, I can't answer this!"
"Why not?"
"Because I don't know!"
She eyed him critically and noticed that he was only telling half the truth. She put her right hand around his neck, squeezing and getting closer to his face, so close that she could feel his disgusting breath. She heard him swallow hard and knew he was scared.
"You better tell me what you know."
"What if I don't?" He asked with a smug look on his face.
She squeezed his neck so tight that he couldn't breathe at all. His eyes flickered, but just before he could pass out, she let go.
"Again?" she asked.
He shook his head in panic while coughing and gasping for air miserably. After an eternity, he was breathing normally again, but still coughing occasionally.
"Answer my question right now."
"I bought it from a strange man near the wharf. I really don't know more!"
"Good." She smiled. "Any last words?"
"What is with our deal? I will give you answers in exchange for sex with you!"
"I don't remember signing anything. I feel sorry for your wife." She glanced at his hand, which was wearing a wedding ring on his ring finger. "But if she hears that your body was found in a whorehouse, she won't care."
"I am so sorry Cecilia," he sobbed.
"Too late, darling." She choked him with both hands and put a pillow on his face.  She finally felt him collapse lifeless under her. She climbed down from him and searched him for money, taking it.  He wouldn’t be needing it any more.
She heard voices from outside the door. Apparently the owner of the bar found this room too quiet. Janice ran to the window, opened it in no time and climbed out. When her shoes sounded on the wood of the terrace, she immediately ran to the other side of the yard where the horses and carriages were standing. She freed one of the horses from its carriage, climbed into the saddle and rode into the night, letting the darkness swallow her.
Panic broke out in the bar because Janice had murdered a corrupt businessman without knowing it. There was no trace of Janice. The last thing the bar owner heard was the horse's hooves on the gravel.
-----------------------
Janice rode through meadows, fields, gravel roads to finally arrive at her destination. The Wharfs. She got off the horse and miraculously the horse stayed for her. Janice was just good with animals and apparently she had already found a new friend.  She gave the horse an apple from a nearby apple tree, stroked its muzzle, and said goodbye.
As she ran down the slope to the docks, she already heard several voices. She crept behind a large wooden trestle, crouching on the damp ground as she listened.
"Is this seriously everything you got for me?" A deep male voice asked heatedly.
"I'm sorry, but you're not the only one buying from me."
"You can not be serious."
"I am serious,” he said in a calm but menacing tone.
"Next time you'll give me double!" He almost yelled.
A large fist came crashing down on the box behind which Janice was hiding. She flinched, but quickly gathered herself and regulated her breathing again. She couldn't allow herself to lose control now. She took a quiet deep breath and closed her eyes for a second to steady her pulse. Seconds later she heard the deep voice that seemed to belong to the boss again.
"Do you have any of  the latest drug, at least?"
"Yes, the drug to make someone unconscious."
"Very good. That will help me with some problems," the boss almost cheered.
Suddenly there was an awkward silence. So awkward it was almost dangerous. She heard the seller slip away and quietly ride his horse away. After the horse's hooves had stopped in the distance, only the splashing of water could be heard. Normally she would love and enjoy that sound, but right now there was no time to relax. A man came running down the slope with a hand signal that shocked the boss.
When Janice tilted her head back, she saw the boss's chin. He stood directly in front of the box and looked towards the slope. She pressed even more against the heavy box and made herself as small as possible, not moving an inch. She even stopped breathing. Her situation worsened when the man finally told the boss what was going on.
"We found a carriage horse up the hill, but without a carriage. The pairs of lines were cut. We're assuming someone stole the horse to get here."
"This is not good. Keep your eyes open!" He kicked the box, making Janice flinch again.
Just as he was about to look down, something distracted his attention and he walked away from the box. She exhaled in relief and snuck deeper into enemy territory to eavesdrop.
Her heart was pounding in her chest, so loud she feared everyone would hear.
"Angus what the hell are you doing here?" The boss asked.
Angus…
Jake's father…
What was he doing here?
Those were the thoughts that flew through her head. She felt the tears pool in her eyes and silently ran down her cheeks. He had lied to her. Angus lied to her. She thought he had always been honest with her, but she seemed to have been wrong. Everything she had suppressed on her way here overflowed like a full keg and big tears fell on the floor. Even though the two were no longer together, it hurt to know that he lied to her without batting an eyelid.
No matter how hard she fought against it, her heart ached. She loved someone new now, but their love was forbidden. She didn't love Angus anymore, but it still hurt her.
She let her emotions control her and made a fatal mistake.
"Angus…" She whispered loud enough for everyone to hear it.
The man in question snapped his head at her, eyes wide and a flash of concern. He still loved her, his eyes gave him away. Angus' heart was beating fast and burning tears pooled in his eyes, but he blinked them away. Unfortunately, the boss noticed that his eyes were directed elsewhere.
The boss turned and caught her eye. He saw her and she saw him. Angus was like a copy of him. The jet black hair, those piercing blue eyes and that damn sharp jaw.
Without a doubt this man was Angus' father.

Checking Him (18+)
Tumblr media
⚠️ WARNING: 100% smut, 18 plus only
It’s been months since MC seen Jake, he stops by whenever he feels like he’s safe. However she’s standing in the kitchen and she hears the door unlock. She heads towards it wearing just a sundress and finds herself face to face with Jake who has thrown his bag down and tossed his hoodie off on top of it.
He pins her against the wall, grabbing her hips. “Hi my love” he grows into the nape of her neck kissing and nibbling at that spot that drives her crazy as his hands squeeze her hips. Her arms pull him closer trying to take off his shirt to check for any new injuries, as she moans at his kisses and nibbles.
“Mmm Jake, let me check for any new injuries” she whimpers.
He ignores her request, picking her up and pinning her fully between him and the wall as her legs wrap around his waist. His hands move to grab her ass as her arms wrap around his neck and he carries her to the couch. He tosses her down hiking her dress up and undoing his pants.
She looks up at him and sees the lust in his blue eyes and grabs his hand to pull him closer. He slides her underwear to the side and penetrates her as his mouth goes back to her neck.
She tries to slow him down by lifting his head and kissing him. However the kiss just fuels him and he speeds up as his tongue slides across her lips asking for permission to enter which she allows.
He speeds up and they both orgasm at the same time. He catches his breath and manages to sit down pulling her on his lap.
Once she catches her breath she pushes his hair out of his face. Looking into those electric blue eyes she asks " can I can you now?"
"Sure, i just missed you way to much" he kisses her lips gentle then pulls off his shirt.

Is this the end?

Chapter 13
"Can I come in at least?" He asks with his head looking down defeated.
I let him in but lean against the wall as I shut the door "I thought you faced your demons about me Jake" I say as my lip quivers as I'm about to cry.
He comes closer to me "don't you dare!" Yells Jessy.
"When I'm not freelancing for cyber security companies I still need to bring in some income," he says with a sigh. "So I started a business to help men who think their woman is cheating. I have my phone on recording it all. They are 100% aware that I will lay it on thick to make sure." He says he looks in my eyes.
"Say exactly what you want to Jake '' I say, uncrossing my arms.
"Morgan, I would never hurt you intentionally. I took on these before Friday night. I actually stopped taking clients and looking for something else more stable for a future with you" he says with a defeated look in his eyes.
"Show me proof" I say, stepping closer to him.
He pulls out his phone and shows the texts, the emails, and pulls ups recodings.
"MC, he could fake it" Jessy states.
"Damn it Jessica! I just want to be with her! I'm trying to show her I'm still the same Jake she fell in love with all those years ago. The same Jake that when she introduced me to her parents she had a glow to her where I knew she adored me with every ounce of her heart. I'm not trying to hurt her. I'm just trying to fix my life. If I knew Friday when I walked into my mom's house after three years that I would have seen her walk into that kitchen I wouldn't have taken those clients. Those were the last ones!" He yells facing her.
I grab his hand "Jessy, me and him are going to go talk through all of this and eat." I say looking in her eyes as she turns around and storms off. He turns and looks in my eyes and I see the frustration on his face. I run my fingers along his cheek as tears fall from my eyes. I feel his fingers on my cheeks wiping them away as he pulls me close.
"Will you ever trust me again?" He whispers.
"I'm trying," I say, nuzzling into his chest.
He grabs my hand and heads to the parking garage. It's a quiet ride while he holds my hand. I'm looking at how my hand fits perfectly in his and it brings calmness to me. Feeling his draw circles on my hand. I close my eyes until I feel him park. He gets out and opens my door "so what's for dinner?" I ask, breaking the silence since we left my apartment.
"I had plans for a trust exercise but I think we will just cook together" he says with a smile.
I grab his hoodie strings and pull myself towards him as I bite my lip. He kisses me gently "more will come later."
"More like earlier when I had to stop us so I could work?" I say  as I feel his arms squeeze me tight.
"If things lead that way" he says with that devilish smile.
Looking at his smile like that towards me my body goes week and i kiss him this time. I feel his hand move to my neck as his other hand grabs my hip leaving no space between our bodies this time. My hands go to his chest and a whimper escpaes my mouth. With that Jake walks away. I grab his hand following him to the elevator. "I want it to lead to more of that" I say looking flustered.
He whispers in my ear "I thought you were suppose to love me slowly."
"Yeah last night that thought jumpes off the roof when you kissed me like you did" i say blushing as i lean into his chest.
The door opens and as he hit the button 11 the memories from three years ago hit me and i lean against the wall.
Three years ago I was sitting on this elevator floor balling my eyes out. I remember the door opening a few times for people but noone ever got in to give me space. I remember the constant phone going off but i remember the feeling in my chest. Its fighting the feeling of love towards that same guy right now as i look at him.
"MC?" I hear Jake say as he touches my waist and I jump.
"Sorry, you still live in the same apartment?" I ask. He must see tears in my eyes because he pulld me against his chest.
"Same floor but I moved apartments. With working from home i needed more space." He says running his fingers through my hair and drawing circles on my back.
I let out a sigh as the door opens expectinv the flash backs but Jake picks me up and carries me right past his old one to the end of the hall. He puts me down  but continues to hold my waist as he unlocks the door.
I look up at him during all of this "shit" I say and nothing more as I realize how safe I feel in his arms and how much I've fallen for him again.
He opens the door and looks at me with that grin "what?" He pulls me right against him as he walks backwards into his apartment.
"I realized just how hard im falling for you again." I say as I melt into him.
He pins me against the wall turning the security system off but never looking away from me. He grabs my chin and tilts it up.
"I hope I never have to make you refall in love with me again" he huskily says as his mouth is inches from mine.
I whimper as grab his hoodie strings and pull myself towards hin closing those inches. I close my eyes and i feel our lips touch again. I feel his hand on my chin and one on my hips pullung me closer as the kiss becomes deeper. I melt into him leaving no space between us. I feel his lips move off my lips but i feel his breath still there. I slowly open my eyes abd i see him staring at me.
"Jake" I whimper looking into his blue eyes.
He whispers in my ear "the night in young, therr will be more of that and more later. He then walks away from me.
I stand there against the wall trying to compose myself because i forgot what him alone with me does sbd he's laying it on thick. I finally compose myself and head into the kitchen were he's pulling out some chicken and veggies.
"About time you followed me to start cooking dinner" he says with that smile as i realized he pulled his hoodie off and its laying on the back of a chair.
"Jake please don't feel like you hsve to earn me back." I state as I walk to the counter and grab the veggies to clean off.
He comes up behind me and wraps his arms around my waist "this isn't me trying MC, this is how much I've missed you."
As he states that I drop everything onto the counter and lean back. "Can we skip dinner until later? '' I whimper feeling his arms around me. I know from previous experience with him we aren't goingvto make it very far before we leave everything on the counter.
"As much as I want too put you on the counter. You should really eat" he says into my neck with that husky voice then starts kissing my neck.
I undo a few buttons on my blouse and I feel Jake smile into my neck. His takes a hand and stop me after a few buttons.
"Jake please" I beg as I feel my desire for him growing more.
He spins me around so I'm facing him and pulls me right against him. This time a hand stays on my waist but the other one goes towards my ass and squeezes it as i let out a whimper. He realizes there is no point in denying what we both want so he walks away putting all the food away.
I go to help him but he pins me against the counter "no" is all he says looking into my eyes and i see the lust.
I bite my lip and he knows he is driving me crazy as I long for more from him. Once the food is all away he takes my hand and leads me fo the living room. He has the coffee table to the side and has a blanket with a ton of pillows on the floor and one of my favorite movies ready for play on the TV. I stop and look into his eyes and while I see his desire i see love.
I wrap my arms around his neck "I've missed you too" i say as I kiss him gently this time.
As I pull away he has a smile on his face. "MC" he states and I put my finger to his mouth.
"When we're alone, say my name." I say as I walk away from him. I sit on the floor looking up at him.
He sits down next to me pulling me on his lap making me straddle him. "Morgan…" he states in a dominating voice. As hes unable to say more and he just kisses me deep and passionate. His hands squeeze my thighs bring any distance between our desire away.
I wrap my arms around him as we dont stop. He finally pulls away to give us both a chance to breath and i look into his eyes. "We should order food for afterwards" i say resting my head in his shoulder.
"Mmm I don't know if I will start with you tonight if I'll be able to stop. That's why I was hoping to go slow but we both want everything" he says squeezing the inside of my thighs
Feeling the to inside of my thighs my body instantly starts to grind against him. "Specially when you do stuff like that" i whimper.
"Want me to stop?" He asks gently letting the pressure go.
"Ugh yes and no" i say frustrated.
"That doesnt give me answer" he says with the sly smile.
I get off his lap and sit up in the couch. "Jake…" i say trying to collect my thoughts.
"What MC" he says concerned.
"I need to know where we stand. Where are future lies" i state looking into his eyes .
"Remember when you came and visited me abd we stayed up all night walking around this city talking about what we wanted?" He asks kneeling in front of me.
"How can I forget? I still want all of that but do you? I know because i did date a hacker that there waes a girl you were serious with somone" i say with a sigh.
"Do you ever hear her name?" He asks confused.
"I think it was like Anna" i say as i feel his hands reach for mine.
'Ugh so theres a thing with that." He says holding my hands tight. "We dated for a few weeks. Obviously she was a hacker as well. She had heard about what happened between us and tried to use if to blackmail me into more with her. Stating she was going to send you messages telling you I was engaged to her and everything. When I realized how far she was willing to go to destroy any lsst hope I had with you if our lives did meet again I ended it with her. I guess she wasnt as good as a hacker as she thought because she never messaged you." He says
"Oh no I got the messages from her but I ignored them because I knew what she was saying wasn't true. I knew you wouldn't get her pregnant and propose to her 6 months after we ended things" i say looking into his eyes.
"How did you still have faith in me back then?" He asks getting inches from my face.
"I dont know, jake. Shit the dude i was trying to see saw it and lost it because he thought there was someone else" i say with a laugh.
"Obviously he wasn't a good hacker" he laughs.
"Nope i knew more from you then he did. Don't worry i didnt show him anything" i say as i look into his blue eyes.
" but that night when you told me you wanted a house, the white picketed fence, a family. That thought scared me but after everything we've been through…. I want it. I want it all with you" he says leaning closer to me.
I close the gap leaving just a little space between our lips "you want a future with me?" I ask wanting to hear him say it.
"Yes, I want a future with you. Morgan, I can't imagine a life without you in it. You are my forever, my home, my everything" he says.
My body shivers as i close that gap fully and kiss hin deep. I grab his arm and pull him even closer to me as his hands grab my thighs. He runs his tounge on my lips asking for entrance and i open my mout and let his tounge dominate over mine. There is no fighting what my body wants.
He pulls away letting us both catch our breath. Just barely away from my lips "say it" he huskily states.
"I want you, i want everything with you. Jake, I love you" i say trying to close the gap.
"Do you trust me?" He asks.
I bite my lip unsure how to respond. I look into his eyes and i see the desire in them as i grab his shirt collar.
"MC answer please" he says pleading.
I feel my body go weak to him "yes, please dont break this trust again." I beg him.
He grabs my wasit pulling me down to the floor as he leans over me. His hands running under my button up, as i undo the rest of the buttons.

The more we learn, the less we know. Every answer leads to ten more questions. The Koran, the Bible, science, it's all the same. We're just looking at different parts of the elephant. When I was a boy, my father took me to the shore of Lake Michigan. He said, 'Son, standing here, it's hard to believe the other side exists. The world is just this.' Then he said, 'You have to have faith.'
But I didn't understand. Now I do. The wormhole aliens are of Bajor, but they are not gods. They are beings of immense power and knowledge. I'm just beginning to understand their true nature. And the nature of the universe is beyond the grasp of the human mind.
But that doesn't mean we stop trying to understand. It's what keeps us going. Keeps us questioning. Keeps us growing. So, no matter how complicated the universe gets, or how many different parts of the elephant we see, we keep searching for the truth, because that's what makes us human.

Am I hard to impress or is Jake extraordinary guy??
People complaining that I am hard to impress meanwhile me who fell for Jake even after knowing that he is just a character in game.
I blushed every time he mentioned my game name, it felt so good. [I love when people call me by my name]

Tales Told in the Dark:
Phil
The gang sits by the fire and tells stories. This is Phil's turn.
warnings: not so scary fireside stories.
Phil pulls his hood over his eyes and hangs his head low, posturing to create the illusion of fright. He begins, his voice is low and thick like syrup, the words clinging to his lips after he says them, "The night was cold and dark, one when the rain soaks through your bones and the fog hangs low in the sky. It was the kind of night where the impenetrable mist envelops your being and claims you for its own mysterious intentions.
I was working at the bar, closing. I had sent everyone home insisting that I would give them a break and finish up. The trash needed to be taken out, but our damn dumpster was temperamental. I should have only been there a minute but I had been wrestling with it in the alley when I heard a noise."
He lowers his body and his voice into a whisper that slowly loudens as he speaks, "tic tic toc tic toc tic tic tic toc tic toc tiC TOC TIC TOC"
Lily has buried her head in a blanket, all except her eyes. Hannah has cuddled into Thomas she is intrigued. Jake is even impressed with his storytelling, his eyes haven't stopped watching Phil since he started telling the story. MC is holding him tight.
The noise grew louder," Phil continues. "I turned around, but the alley was completely dark. Everyone had gone home, even the girls that hang out there had left to party somewhere else."
Phil began switching his head from side to side as if he was actually looking for the source of the noise.
"Out of nowhere, a tall man appeared. His teeth were yellow and somewhat pointy. His face was bloated and his skin was mixed with various shades of pink as if the sun had burned his face. He wore a top hat, but it seemed ironic like he was wearing it to make some sort of statement. All of his clothes were black, and his long leather trenchcoat completed the look. He was so tall that he had to hunch over," Phil leans in and speaks conspiratorially, "You would think that this made him thin, but under that trenchcoat was a mixture of blubber and muscles, the likes of which I had never seen.
The man began to speak to me," Phil continues, "and his voice was low and crackled like he had swallowed a package of rocks. "Hello there, boy," The man called out to me. I didn't answer him. Why he would be seeking me out? I tried to sneak by him. He grabbed my arm on the way past. "You would be wise, son, to answer when you are spoken to and never underestimate an opponent."
As Phil imitated the man, he hunched himself over and somehow made himself look taller and more imposing in the process. MC was amazed at Phil's acting skills. He was actually quite good at this.
"I looked at his face, I knew that I couldn't avoid him, so I'd better toughen up. I spoke to him with the most intimidating voice that I could muster. "Who the hell are you to tell me what to do?"
" I am someone that you would do best to obey." He gave me a sardonic smile. I noticed his yellow pointy teeth and shuddered unwillingly.
I was now intrigued. "I don't obey anyone without a few questions," I say. I might be pushing my luck but I wasn't going to let this creeper push me around.
"I admire your spirit, so you may ask exactly three questions. Then you will obey me."
"Where are you from?"
"The future. It isn't a place where you would survive. It isn't a place that you would want to be." His voice was ominous, yet somehow, soft.
Right, I think to myself, this guy is wackadoo.
"Soooo, you are from the future, how did you get here?"
"For me to answer that would make no sense. Our civilization has advanced too far, and yet, we have not advanced far enough." I can tell that he is losing his patience.
"If I could ask you three questions, why don't you have to answer them?" I ponder.
"I never promised that I would." His answer was concise and factual.
"I want to know, why are you here?"
"Oh, now this is a question that I would love to answer as it will lead me to your compliance. You see, in the future, we have to have bodies to manipulate, we use them as soldiers to fight the great war and really, to do whatever we need. We control the soldiers' every move. They no longer have a life, they are merely living. I am here for recruitment. You must come with me."
"I am not applying for the job if that is what you are asking. I know a hacker who would love to join. I can tell you how to find him." I told the man, he didn't think it was funny." Phil makes eye contact with Jake and snickers.
MC leans in and whispers something in Jake's ear and he smiles, unplussed by Phil's attempt at an insult. Jake's lack of concern increases Phil's frustration.
"I do apologize for the use of the word recruit," The tall man says ominously as he leans into my ear. "I should have said we take."
In an instant, he wrapped his arm around my neck trying to hold me tight, but I managed to escape. I could hear him following me, his shadow on the wall looming over me, I saw his thick hands reach for me with fingernails as sharp as knives. He was getting close. I ducked through a side road and looked for anyone to ask for help. The man was fast and almost impossible to identify in the darkness of this night. He looked more transparent than real. I looked back and could tell that he was getting closer to me. I was just about to give up, seeing no way out, realizing that I smoke too much for this type of activity.
That freaky time traveler kept gaining on me. He looked desperate and angry, really angry, his eyes were turning red and he was gaining more speed. His long arms seemed to stretch out toward me. I.had to.think.of.something.fast," Phil was pacing his words so they sounded as though he was panting.
"I don't know how my legs kept moving, but they did. Then, I heard a motorcycle, flying through the night. I was hoping if I could get in their line of sight, they could save me. I ran toward the motorcycle. when I got close to it, I saw that it was Jakey boy over there"
"What?" he said, " I never knew. I would have helped you.'
"...and then what, I am indebted to you. No thanks," He glared at Jake.
"Once I saw it was Jake on the motorcycle, I turned away and continued running.
"You would rather die than ask me for help?" Jake interrupts. He is incredulous.
"Yes," Phil responds quickly disbelief apparent at the thought that Jake would even have to ask that question.
Phil shakes his head and returns to the story. He begins panting again. "Anyway, I was running and I started to hear it." Phil lowers his voice again then raises it to a yell when he reaches the end of the noise.
'tic tic toc tic tic TIC TOC tic toc TIC TIC TOC TOC TIC TOC'
Phil is now screaming TOC.
He lowers his voice, but the panicked tone returns. "I turned around, the man's hand had grabbed onto the back of my hoodie and he was trying to hold me. I bent down and snuck out of the sweatshirt. I was lying on the ground. The noise was getting louder. I had to hold my ears. I watched the man, my eyes focused on him, I blinked my eyes and the man was gone, he had just disappeared. I looked around the corner to make sure that I couldn't find him, but he was nowhere. He even took my new sweatshirt, dammit."
Lily was breathless and Hannah was holding onto Thomas's hand. Dan was even quiet, his eyes focused on Phil.
"See Cleo, that is how you tell a scary story. Look at these people, they are on the edge of their seats." Phil says, his cocky attitude has completely returned.
"Phil, stop it," MC chimes in. "We get the point. You are cool." she pauses as he shuts his mouth.
Then she adds, "I did really like your story. Who knew you are so good at spinning tales?' she winked.
He snarked and Jake huddled in closer.
Hannah looked at Thomas, "Thomas, honey, you should tell your story. The one about the band?"
Yep
Ok, I can go next, but I like to strum the guitar while I tell it, Is that all right with everyone?" they all nod.
Jessy says, "If you all need to take a break, now is the time. Lily and Hannah escort Jessy to the bathroom. Jake walks up to Phil. Jake holds his head down and asks, "Do you really hate me so much that you would rather die than let me help you?"
Phil responds, "It was just a story, man. I like to get under your skin. You make it easy. But if you don't watch out, I will take MC from you."
Jake begins to fume. "Stop your obsession with MC. She is with me,"
"See what I mean," he smirks, you are an easy target." He looks at Jake side-eyed.
Jake chuckles and gives in "I guess I am when it comes to her." He looks up as MC catches his eye. "Good story,"
The truth is it wasn't a story. but he knew that no one would believe him. Phil finds s chair and settles in. He sits next to Jessy and wraps one arm around her shoulder. "Good idea, sis."
"Thanks, man," she says leaning her head into his shoulder. "Be careful, you know they have a real love for each other. Not even your charm can break that."
"I know, I know," he sighs watching them kiss in the dim light of the fire. Thomas began to strum his guitar as Phil closed his eyes, trying to get the image of the two of them out of his mind.

"Come on, Jake. Let's go home while Maebelle rests."
Jake turned to Mae again to make sure she was okay. She gave him a weary nod, but he saw an honest smile. He felt a gentle hand on his shoulder, pushing him towards the exit. He let his mother guide him, and together, they left the house. Despite the incident, he was in a very good mood.
"You're in a very good mood today," remarked Janice, Jake's mother.
"Of course! I got to spend the day with Mae," he said cheerfully.
He saw her just giggle and obviously happy for him even though she was so tired. Janice took her son's hand and together they walked through town to buy food for the evening. As they walked past the flower stand, Jake couldn't help but say, "Look mama! These are the flowers Mae always stops at. Can't we get her that for her birthday?"
She smiled and squeezed his hand lovingly, "Of course, sweetheart." She only said this to calm him down. She knew that Mae was far too young to take care of such flowers as they required a lot of attention.
Jake just enjoyed the walk home with his mother. She has always preferred to walk than take a carriage. She was a nature person, she loved the fresh air and enjoyed the beauty of nature. You could also see that she loved nature. She had a different charisma about her. It couldn't be described, you had to have seen it for yourself to understand it. It was as if mother nature had given birth to her.
Jake thought back to Mae and how they played together. He was always happy after every meeting with her. He couldn't help but grin. He admired her for never letting a challenge stop her. And even if the challenge failed, she didn't take it to heart and tried again. The best example was that weeping willow. She climbed up that tree so many times and she had fallen down so many times. But that didn't stop her from doing it over and over again because she enjoyed it. He was snapped out of his train of thought when his mama stopped. They had arrived at the bakery.
She bought some bread and the baker looked at him with a big grin, "I see the bread from before was tasty."
Jake nodded vigorously, hoping to get some more, but unfortunately there was no more bread to be given away. He accepted his fate and they continued on their way. When they got home, Janice brought the bread into the kitchen and came back to Jake in the entryway.
"What do you think if we go for a little walk?"
"But mama, you look so tired. Don't you want to get some rest?"
"Seven years old and worried about his elderly mother, but you're probably right,” she shook her head in disbelief.
"In my eyes you are not old. But what can I do in the meantime?"
"You can continue reading your book if you want. You find it fascinating."
Jake's eyes sparkled with happiness and his mother went to her bedroom to get some rest. He grabbed the book that was lying on a side table and sat down on a chair in the kitchen to continue reading it. He looked at the cover of the book, "Paradise Lost by John Milton," he read out loud. He knew the title by heart now, but he loved this book.
He was only seven and could read better than other children his age, but he still struggled. Most books were all written in Latin but not this one. He was stuck on a sentence and tried to read it again and again. He gave up the sentence and moved on to the next one, he would ask his mama later.
“What matter where, if I be still the same,
And what I should be, all but less then he”
He sighed and continued.
“Whom Thunder hath made greater? Here at least
We shall be free; th' Almighty hath not built
Here for his envy, will not drive us hence:
Here we may reign secure, and in my choyce
To reign is worth ambition though in Hell:”
As he looked at the clock, he realized that it had taken him three hours just for those few sentences. It was already getting dark, and he decided to wake up his mama. He quietly opened the door to her bedroom, and she was in bed, but she wasn't sleeping. She was just resting.
"Mama? It's getting dark already, do you want to eat?"
"Oh sure, how could I have forgotten supper. Give me five minutes."
Smiling and with a growling stomach, he walked back into the kitchen. He saw the bread on the kitchen counter and had trouble resisting the temptation to bite into it. His eyes were huge, and he admired the fresh, delicious bread. It still smelled freshly baked. He looked for a knife in the kitchen and found it. But before he could use it, someone took the knife from his hand.
"Let me do this, you'll only hurt yourself,” his mama said.
She cut two slices for each of them, and she poured herself a glass of wine and Jake got a glass of water. His mouth was watering as she cut the bread, he couldn't wait. When the first slice was cut, his hand scurried onto the counter, and he stuffed the entire slice into his mouth. Janice laughed out loud and looked lovingly at her son, who at the moment looked like a squirrel with a mouthful of nuts.
He hummed in delight and happily hopped around the kitchen. After he finally managed to chew the bread and swallow it down, they both sat at the table and ate their supper peacefully. After they ate, his mother noticed that his book was still open.
"Are you having trouble reading something? Your book is still open."
"Yes, I wanted to ask you if you could read me the two sentences. I skipped them for now."
He showed her the lines he couldn't read, and she read them aloud to him.
“The mind is its own place, and in it self
Can make a Heav'n of Hell, a Hell of Heav'n.”
Something was weird hearing those words out of her mouth. She was always a happy person, and such dark lines just didn't suit her. As she closed the book and put it aside, she smiled proudly at him.
"I'm proud of you, you're already so much ahead of other kids your age,” she said proudly. "I think it's time you went to bed."
Jake shook his head but caught himself yawning. He gave up and his mother put him to bed.
She gave him a motherly kiss on the forehead and stroked his jet-black hair. "Do you want to see how Maebelle is tomorrow?"
He just nodded, grinning, as he fell asleep.
