cheolri jealous moments !
mainly cheol getting sulky when nari’s attention is on someone else.
Tumblr media
nari’s birthday live !
nari was celebrating sitting on a table, in front of a decorated wall full of pictures of her, flowers, ballons and messages from her members. she had a cute little smile on her face and a cute “birthday girl” tiara on her head. her cake was butterfly shaped, with candles and a cute “our nabi day”.
she was radiant and really excited, babbling about her day to everyone. she even got the members to join the live, most of them commenting their birthday wishes to the young woman.
“they’ve been so nice to me, i got lots of gifts today!”, she said all excited, getting up to gather whatever she could of her gifts.
“so, jeonghanie, shua and kwanie sent me a huge bouquet and a breakfast basket today.”, she held them up, smiling at the camera. “hao made a beautiful painting for me.”, she proudly showcased the art hanging on her apartment’s wall. “and coupsie gave me a necklace!”
“junie, wonu, hoshi and woozi surprised me with lots of plushies and took me out for lunch today.”, she showed her phone to the live, a picture of the plushies on the screen. “also, dino took me to the stores and bought a bracelet to me, look!”, she showed her wrist to the camera, the silver piece glimmering on the camera.
“vernon bought me a new lego set too.”, she held the box up, smiling brightly. “i’ll probably build it with him! ah, kyeom and gyu also tagged along witn dino and i, they got me this bag and keychain – from gyu – and a new set of sanrio mystery boxes from seokminie! i’m gonna open them with you right now!”, she showed the six boxes to the camera, all which held mysterious collectible figures inside.
as nari started to open them, she also got back to reading the comments. most of the carats being excited and matching her enthusiasm with her gifts, though, some held the same question as cheol.
— hey! show my gift too 🥺
nari immediately laughed, cooing because of the emoji as she could picture her boyfriend’s pouting face.
“am i allowed to?”, she questioned, looking at the staff. they shrugged, so she took the item out of her shirt’s collar. “cheolie got me this beautiful necklace that i talked about…”
she got closer so the camera could see, a small ‘s+n’ engraved on it. the pendant was heart shaped, with a little diamond craved on the top. she had a shy grin on her face as she showed it, the comments going so fast that she couldn’t keep up with them.
— that’s better 😚 thanks
she just laughed, singing “jealousy coupsie” in a playful way.
the hug incident !
as the second day of the ‘be the sun’ tour in seoul happened, at the never-ending ‘aju nice’, nari and the members kept on jumping around with the crowd. they were interacting and taking pictures, some doing fan service and laughing as carats went crazy.
nari and mingyu were next to each other, with him shaking her by the shoulders while nari faced the audience with a fake annoyed expression – which turned in giggles in a matter of seconds. then, gyu grabbed her arm so they could jump together, the girl almost not being able to catch up with him due to the height difference.
as she grew tired, nari made a heart with him to which the hyper puppy almost immediately responded with the other half. she smiled and hugged the boy’s neck as he bent to her level, quickly skipping away from him to find another member.
the moments was displayed on the big screen, the crowd cheering louder. the other members watched it to see what made them so happy, chuckling when they saw the duo’s interaction. though, one of them had a big pout on his face and turned to the girl with a big scowl when she approached him.
“go hug the big puppy!”, he said, turning away from her, leaving a dumbfounded nari standing with her arms open and a disbelieving expression on her face. seokmin – who saw the whole thing – just laughed and hugged the girl, laughing even more when cheol hugged jun out of pettiness, all while looking at nari with his tongue showing.
nari x vogue !
nari had recently done a photoshoot with vogue and, to promote it, she took some backstage pictures to post after the release of the magazine. she had a beautiful no-straps white bra with a beige blazer and matching skirt, the underwear’s band appearing from the skirt’s waistband.
she posed in various positions, some more provocative and others more laid-back – getting hair and makeup done, doing silly faces and all. one in particular got everyone in a frenzy; nari on her knees with the blazer hanging from her shoulder and her head tilted to the side.
the moment the pictures were posted on her instagram, nari immediately got thousands of comments and likes, the post quickly becoming one of her most famous instagram posts.
though, not only the pictures were a reason for this post to go viral – no, the comment seungcheol left just added more fuel to the fire.
‘sound_of_coups i already saw it, you can delete it now 🥰’
the boys teased him endlessly for that, coups getting so flustered that he ended up deleting his comment instead.
play promotions !
nari was having her first ever solo music bank interview. she was being interviewed alongside enhypen and kept on smiling adoringly at the boys’ direction whenever they would speak. she was also having fun laughing at chaemin’s face whenever eunchae would tease him.
at some point though, ni-ki got off-frame to get something, quickly coming back with a beautiful bouquet just as heeseung stopped talking.
“we got a bouquet of flower to our nabi-noona.”, he held them towards her, his ears getting red as she got the bouquet from him and pinched his cheeks. “congrats on your solo debut, fighting!”
as he got back to place, yumi could be seen whispering “coups-nim is so gonna talk about it” to sunoo.
a few minutes later, a very sad seungcheol started to rant on weverse. people found it hilarious, he was so sulky just because nari pinched the boy’s cheek.
‘will i have to be in another group to be treated like that? i also sent her flowers 😶’
to which, hours later, nari responded with a picture of her pinching coups’ cheek and him smiling adorably to the camera, her expression being of a – fake – fed up person.

Do i want to be you or fuck you
Pairing: Sam Monroe x [gender-neutral] Reader Summary: sam never had to deal with another alternative person around, so you're giving him a hell of an identity crisis. Tags: kind of enemies to lovers / sam in a crop top / reader leaves lipstick marks on his stomach
MASTER LIST
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sam didn’t know how to deal with that situation because he never had to, but now seeing someone steal his attention didn’t please him. He wondered if he was punk enough, though it was a stupid thought.
Fuck’s sake, though. Sam was the one who would attract attention all around and cause rumors because of his style, and he wondered if he had lost his effect. Black clothes, chains, studs, and alt music were his thing, so he didn’t see why some of his friends were running to you to ask your opinion about the new Slipknot album.
Your makeup, clothes, and accessories were always on fucking point. Sam hoped you wouldn’t notice how he was staring. No, it wasn’t about how beautiful you looked, laughing, chatting with whoever with a can in hand, sometimes dancing lightly to the song of the shitty local band in that stupid venue. It was at your shirt, wondering how the fuck you’d managed to get a tour-limited shirt like that. Of a band he liked. He was sure you didn’t even understand the meaning behind the songs. Your favorite album was probably the main one, and you skipped the underrated songs only because they weren’t that popular. That shirt would probably look better on him, anyway.
“You just came here for nothing? To sulk there?” Josh cut through his thoughts, annoying, as always.
Sam’s gaze met yours, but he quickly averted his eyes to the small stage and the group moshing in front of it, taking a drag from his cigarette. “Shut up.”
“What?”
“Shut up,” Sam scoffed as he shook his head, taking a deeper and faster drag from his cigarette, holding back the cough that tickled the back of his throat as the smoke burned down his throat.
The wall behind Sam dug into his shoulder blades, the faint ache spread through his back from how long he had been standing there. He didn’t like that band—he knew the bassist had been in a class with him in the second year of high-school, but he could barely listen to any instrument aside from the guitar and under the vocalist’s exaggerated vocal fry. The venue wasn’t all that good either. Not like the band would be able to afford one.
Going there seemed like a good opportunity to get high and drink, but the moment Sam saw you, his excitement fizzled away, giving in to that bitter feeling.
“Fuck off,” Sam made sure to say to Josh, ignoring the complaints muffled by the bad cover music while walking off to a spot where you couldn’t see him. He lit another cigarette, watching the glowing red lines trickle closer to the filter with the drag he took. His throat burned, and he became a little more lightheaded, though it didn’t hit so strongly anymore. Maybe he could save some money to go to a real concert next summer. Get good merch.
Even with the dubious background, Sam still got a cup of energy drink with cola and vodka at a stand, only able to take a few sips of it before he lost grip on the cup, even more so given the moisture that accumulated around the cold cup, and it went straight to the ground, spilling some of his drink on his shirt. His cigarette fell right into the puddle. He whipped his head back, scowling. Of course, it had to be you.
“Oh my fucking god,” Sam exhaled sharply, motioning to his ruined shirt—at least the short-sleeved one on top.
You raised your eyebrows as your eyes skimmed him up and down, shaking your head with a soft sigh. “Not my fault that you suddenly stopped walking in the middle of the way. You could’ve at least walked off to the side or something.” Your gaze fell to the cup on the ground. “It wasn’t any good, after all. You wasted money the moment you bought it.”
Sam mirrored your expression mockingly before he looked down at his shirt. He tugged on the hem so that it wouldn’t cling to his skin. “You really suck, y’know that?”
“Just take off the wet shirt, since you got another one under it,” you said as if it were obvious. His mouth opened and closed a few times, but Sam didn’t say anything, only shaking his head and making you sigh. “Come on. Do you want a spare shirt? Or will you keep stinking alcohol and get sticky until you get home?”
As much as Sam wanted to argue, you had a point. He could hear his mother complaining already. Right before he could say anything, your hand was around his wrist to pull him out of the way, away from the risk of having another drink spilled on him, even if not his own.
“I can buy you a shirt from the merch stand as an apology,” you said.
Sam followed your gaze to the shitty merch stand selling ridiculous handmade merchandise. That band definitely needed a new art, and he definitely wasn’t wearing any of that stuff. The sneering air in your words made annoyance boil under his skin, but he did not want to give you the satisfaction of knowing your effect on him.
You laughed. “I’m being serious.”
Well, he wasn’t doing enough of a good job of hiding his annoyance, but again, how could he? Sam took a deep breath. “You’re ruining my night,” he grumbled, tugging his shirt over his head, trying to avoid the wet parts.
“Oh? Me? I didn’t even do anything…” You trailed off, observing his shirt come off to reveal that the undershirt was, in fact, a long-sleeved crop top that stopped a little above his abdomen. It wasn’t even wet, since the drink had only spilled on the bottom half of the shirt, where the crop top did not reach.
Sam held the shirt in his hand, and the words died on his tongue when he noticed you. He gritted his teeth. “Do not look at me like that.”
You blinked a couple of times. “Like what?” But you didn’t even have the shame to look at him in the eyes, continuing to observe the pale skin of his stomach, which contrasted highly with his dark clothes and the happy trail that disappeared into his low waist shorts along with his v-lines. You finally looked him in the eyes, but it was just for a couple of seconds. “Like what?”
Many things ran across his mind, but none of which Sam could actually voice. Looking at you itself was hard. “Come on,” he muttered and cleared his throat. Warmth prickled his cheeks and the back of his neck. “I didn’t think I’d have to take my shirt off.”
“Well,” you exhaled—that look was enough to make his whole body tingle, “you shouldn’t even have chosen to wear it, in the first place. It’s not cold tonight, and your fit looks way better this way.”
When did you step closer? Sam gulped, his eyes scanning your face, the dark eye makeup and that almost black lipstick which he only knew the real color because of how it would reflect a metallic, deep red glint when the light managed to hit it, something that hardly happened, given how it was a gig in such a fucked up venue. He gulped, his fingers tightening around his shirt. How was he supposed to answer that?
Sam looked down for a moment, hoping it would clear his mind enough for him to be able to chain at least two words together coherently. “Well, you should give me your shirt instead, actually.”
You chuckled. “Are you envious of it, or do you want to see me shirtless?”
And he felt like dying inside again, groaning in frustration when your words made his skin heat up once more. Damn it. You were insufferable.
“Either way, it’s a no,” you added. “I—”
“You’re a fucking poser, why’d you have that shirt?”
“I’m not a poser!” You scoffed. “I was there!”
“For the opening band?” When you glared at him in return, Sam felt a certain pride swell in his chest. Now the tables had turned. “Nuh-uh, doesn’t count, my bad. It’s so annoying.”
“How long do you spend analyzing me daily? Do I have to think, ‘how does this affect Sam?’ before I dress up every day?” You crossed your arms over your chest, and part of Sam hated himself for enjoying that annoyed look so much.
Sam shrugged. “You really think you have that much of an impact on my life?”
Your hard look continued despite the deep breath you took, tilting your head. “I mean, you don’t give me many reasons not to think so.”
Raising his eyebrows, Sam hummed in fake amusement. “If I’m being honest, it feels more like it’s the other way around,” he said, his hand moving to play with his belt, and of course, your eyes followed as if it were the most interesting thing in the world. A grin tugged on Sam’s mouth, widening when you let out a string of curses under your breath, and he shrugged, running his fingers along his lower stomach lightly, about to step away when your hand wrapped around his upper arm.
“You can’t just do that and leave me here like this,” you said with a glare.
“Do what?” Sam raised his eyebrows. The upper hand was his, after all, finally. Something stirred inside him with that look. He sighed, playing with one of your necklace pendants, an electric guitar. Fuck, he wanted that. He wanted everything you had, maybe. Everything you were. Having your attention, the closeness, your scent was so good.
“You think you’re hot stuff, right?” You scoffed. Your grip loosened a little, thumb rubbing circles into his arm.
Sam hummed faintly. “I have many reasons to think so,” he said with a shrug, his eyes falling to your lips for a second, and you fucking returned the gaze. How miserable could you be? He bit his lip, a finger hooked on your necklace to pull you closer until your breath fanned over his face. “Though, I might want a little something instead.”
You clicked your tongue. “Ugh, Samuel.” You turned your face right when he leaned in, in a way he ended up pressing his nose to your cheek instead. Should he feel embarrassed or glad about it? He clicked his tongue, squeezing your waist with his free hand.
“Don’t call me that.”
“Okay, babe,” you said, and his skin tingled again.
“I hate you so much.”
“Well, I don’t think you’ll hate what I’m about to do, yeah?” You didn’t give him time to breathe a word before you pulled him towards another spot, near the alley, without anyone, only illuminated by a flickering light post and stinking of a piss and drinks mix, and the music felt a little more tolerable now that it was slightly muffled.
Sam felt like complaining and cursing again, but he held himself back when you sat down on a wooden box and held him in front of you, fingers hooked in his belt loops. He looked down the alley, observing nothing in special. “What the fuck are you going to do? I swear— Nngh!” Sam moaned. He immediately whipped his head down, eyes widening when he saw you kiss his exposed stomach. Your lips were warm. They lingered against the skin, then you kissed another spot, then another.
Sam’s skin rose in shivers, and he could feel his blood rushing south. Your breath fanned over his skin; you were leaving lipstick stains everywhere, the dark marks contrasting with his pale skin—it shouldn’t feel that good. He didn’t even know he was so sensitive on his waist, or down his v-lines.
His knees went wobbly, so he held your shoulders tightly, unable to tear his eyes away from you, but it didn’t compare to how weak he felt when your eyes held his gaze, while you tugged his waistband down just a little so that the kiss mark disappeared into his shorts. It felt like your lips were pressed there forever, but it was over too soon. Your lipstick was already faded by the time you pulled away, slightly smudged.
Ground was put under his feet again, and Sam suddenly felt hyper-conscious of everything. “You’re gonna kill me, but I really hope to kill you first.” Sam tugged on your arm so that he could pull you up to your feet and kiss you on the lips, not caring that his shirt fell to the ground while he held firmly onto your hips, managing to pin you to the wall after some wobbly steps. He wasn’t aware of how much he craved you until now. The messy wet kisses made a shiver run down his spine, and his shorts grew even more uncomfortable, feeling way too tight. Your teeth tugged on his lip, and adrenaline rushed through his veins.
You smiled against Sam’s lips, kissing him back with the same enthusiasm. Your hands cupped his neck to pull him closer—he moaned into the kiss and pressed his body flush to yours, and the kiss was only broken because your lungs ached for air.
“Fuck,” Sam breathed as he nuzzled your neck, trying to process the chain of emotions and sensations that you had given him.
A breathless chuckle escaped your lips. The warmth of your body was replaced by the cold night air when you stepped away, looking down at your work on his stomach with a proud grin. It gave you a sense of ownership over Sam. “You look so hot.”
Sam quickly wrapped his arms around your waist again, kissing your neck more. He craved it now. “I’m looking forward to more of it, hm?”

August 1990
The summer of '90 was a special one.
It was Corroded Coffin's first real life tour. Well, not really.
"Actually," you told them when they broke the news to you, "you're forgetting about the Independence Day Tour of '87."
"We didn't make t-shirts for that one, sweetheart," Eddie teased and dropped a kiss on the top of your head before diving into the details.
It wasn't a true tour in the sense that they'd pack up the van and hit the road and never look back until the tour was over--that would require them quitting their jobs for a time, something their wallets desperately couldn't handle. But a few days off here to go to this festival? A few days off there to enter into this Battle of the Bands? That was doable.
It was as close to a tour as they were gonna get for a little while, and it was gonna help them get further in their music career.
It also prepared them.
Being away from home for a few days at a time prepared them for an inevitable week or month or year that they could potentially face if their star grew brighter.
Eddie quickly realized, though, how much he would miss you when that time came, because he missed you terribly now.
He started seeing you everywhere he looked. Foods he thought you might like to try, love songs that reminded him of you. Someone at one county fair even did a cover of Beth, which he would argue was your song. And at one fest, there was a booth with hand drawn postcards featuring cute fuzzy animals with nefarious settings in the background.
It started with one of those.
A postcard of a kitten with a big purple bow sitting in a haunted forest. Purple for Claires, he explained when he presented it to you on their return home. You gushed over it, said that you loved it, and it went up on the fridge.
Until the next time the guys were out of town.
Next it was special chocolate caramel candies with thick sea salt on top from a booth that sat next to the main stage. They had probably eaten more chocolate than any other food during that trip; you had to try it.
Then a big over stuffed teddy bear--
"It's an Eddie Bear, actually." He pointed to the denim vest it wore. "See?"
--that he won playing a game of ring toss.
A huge tin of assorted fudge from Mackinac Island and a promise to take you with next time they went.
A necklace made of special stone beads that supposedly helped with everlasting love or something; he'd gotten to choose a tarot card when he bought it. He got the two of cups, whatever that meant.
Each and every gift that Eddie brought you when he was away was special. Some big, some small. Some made you ooh and aww, some made you cry because of how much you missed your idiot boyfriend, one even earned him...well...lets just say his bandmates, who you shared a duplex with, made themselves scarce for the evening.
But it was the last stop on the tour that brought maybe the best gift, the most meaningful. It made Eddie really stop and think because...well, this was the stop that they were debuting a new song about his parents and his childhood and how the future wasn't set in stone and you couldn't change things that were bad for you, even with the best intentions.
Marriage is a Death Sentence.
So it was ironic that the first thing to catch his eye would be a ring.
Not a typical engagement ring, not a diamond or really anything big and shiny at all. It was strange and artsy and interesting but when he saw it there at that little crafters booth...he just thought of you.
It was a weird thought. Jarring.
And it scared him.
He turned tail and walked right out of the booth, stopped at a stand where they sold little critters made of recycled wire and bought you a tiny porcupine. There, done, gift bought, no need to think of it anymore.
But he couldn't stop thinking about the ring for the rest of their time there. Not when they performed, not when they ate lunch, not when they packed the van at the end of the night to go home.
He hadn't given marriage much thought when he was younger. He liked dating, liked dating you. You never brought it up, neither did he. But then you took him as your date for Jen's wedding a few years back, and the two of you talked about it and of course you were on the same page. Couldn't see yourselves doing the whole commotion, no suits or dresses, no desire to have your families and friends stare at you for hours.
Not to mention some of those vows were just heinous.
No wonder Al and Elizabeth Munson were destined for heartbreak if they vowed to honor and obey...blegh.
So marriage? No, not at all. Immediately no.
But you? Forever with you? You were his best friend. Wouldn't say his soulmate, that was Jeff obviously and you had no problem with that. But you were...you were you.
So the answer was a resounding yes. Always.
Eddie ran, faster than he'd run in a long time if ever, through the booths as everyone packed up for the night, to the little crafters stall from earlier.
"I was just about to pack up," the vendor laughed as Eddie caught his breath. "You made it just in time."
It was fate.
He pointed where the ring still sat, as it if was waiting for him, and said,
"I'll take it."

(A bit late because I forgot, BUT)
DnDads Live show AMSTERDAM *.✧
All favorite parts and quotes of the chaos that happened in Amsterdam. This one is going to be long yall
Darryl's Amsterdam dad fact: he has been to Amsterdam before, but was so afraid of the red light district that he avoided ALL red lights (including those of traffic lights. So he ended up never leaving his hotel room)
At the same venue one day after the live show, there was a smut book convention lol, so Henry's Amsterdam dad fact was that he and Mercedes would go visit that
Ron's Amsterdam dad fact: he's banned from photographer's dark rooms, because he thought it was the red light district
We got the SMASH DADDIES oneshot
And Anthony's first note in the envelope was: "some sort of justification for a battle royale"
We got: all dads, all teens, THE MOTHMANS from Sons & sonsability and the PCs from the mountain of dadness. They all played 4 characters
It was so chaotic
Freddie went back and forth between Glenn and Taylor to compliment himself
AND AND Sons & sonsability co-DM Amanda Schuckman was also in the audience?? So she just joined on stage for the whole show!!
AND HERMIE WAS ALSO IN IT
The first time Anthony talked in the Hermie voice, one person very very loudly booed and Anthony went like "one guy booed and I agree"
"Martf [?? I don't know who that is?] I love your really long penis" ~ Ron
And then he got strangled with his own penis by Glenn
Elizabeth Mothman (beth): "I'm going to kill the hand." Anthony: "how are you going to do that?" Elizabeth Mothman: "I'm going to roll." Anthony: "... not what I meant."
HENRY (from S1) TELLING NORMAL THAT HE THINKS THAT HIS DAD IS GOING TO BE SO SO PROUD OF HIM :')
The group literally broke the game by killing the boss with 2x nat 20s on intimidation in a row
And then we got a DUNGEON (like Anthony wanted). A red light district dungeon where they had to find a magical bike helmet
(There was also a sheep minotaur but that wasn't used (I still really want to draw it tho))
And Paeden was there.
Darryl: "Paeden? I don't think you're allowed to be here." Paeden: "this is where I become a man."
"Roll a dexterity saving throw as a bike is going to run you over" ~ Anthony
Henry is convinced that he's in Berlin and can take his clothes off in the middle of street (??) And someone in the audience really loudly cheered
"She's far worse than a vampire, or a werewolf. She's a 40 year old woman."
HERMIE AGAIN. He was in almost every red light district dungeon room (it was less weird than it sounds now)
The dads basically had to make Anthony/Hermie feel physical or emotional pain (in the pain pain pain room) and feel love (in the love&embrace room)
"I'm not here to open my mind. I'm here to open my mouth: ~ Ron to Henry who was trying to convince the other dads to eat a plantburger at McDonalds
Henry trying to make Anthony fall in love with him: "Do you have a secret hunch on how you're going to die?" Anthony: "Yes. On stage. In Amsterdam."
THEY ALL SUNG THE GASTON SONG AS KARAOKE TOGETHER (we gave our inspiration to get them to do that."
Anthony took off his shirt during the song.
NORMAL ASKED OUT HERMIE
Darryl the wingman: "you should go on a date because you never know how long you will be alive." 💀
Hermie ACCEPTED
Freddie had a whole speech about whatever he was talking about, made a whole buildup to get everyone to pull out their phones and scan the QR-code
It was a webshop to buy a bicycle helmet
They really managed to shit as much as possible on the fact that Dutch people almost never wear a bicycle helmet lol
All people who had bought one at the end got free stuff from Anthony and Freddie tho!! Since this was the last show of the tour
It was REALLY GREAT!! Absolutely feel free to add things to this list! I made a lot of notes but absolutely didn't catch everything :D

The Color of Truth is Blue Arc Chapter 7: Red flagsss
Italy
You stay off-the-grid that entire weekend to everyone's concerns.
Your phone remains turned off and forgotten on the sofa at Seb's place, kilometers away from you now, as he takes you on a sudden road trip through the Italian Riviera in his 1995 classic blue Citroën DS19.
Knowing the beautiful scenery and brief stops at the Mediterranean towns' gorgeous tourist sites would keep your mind from hurtful thoughts.
And, boy, he was right.
Your mood gets less somber as you two enjoy your gelatos while peacefully walking the Giardini Botanici Hanbury, feeling the fresh breeze from the trees on your skin and hearing the birds chirping around you.
It turns out Seb is full of great love and life advice. He sounds so mature and open about it that it seems new and shocking to you.
How can someone love so freely and so fearlessly?
-
Seb watches you sigh as you finish packing the clothes you bought and wore during the weekend in your also new suitcase since touring Italy in his clothes seemed like something other than a fit for your aesthetics and ego.
Still, you chose to wear his vintage Monty Python t-shirt with mom jeans for the flight back, as you loved the graphic, its colors, and the fact that it fits you a bit oversized and comfy. It made you feel safe.
—Everything will be fine —he expresses.
—I know —you look at Seb and give him a shy smile, only if he knew.
—Ready, then? —he holds open the door for you.
—More than ever —you answer, and you are.
-
Hungary
Much to your poor nerves, the Hungary Grand Prix week is finally here.
And you need to meet Pascal on the outskirts of town so he can deliver you the device.
That nervous sensation in your stomach grows as the chauffeur/gunman drives you closer to the meeting point, which is inside the third floor of a decadent and abandoned old building from the socialist era.
It's been more than a decade since last you saw him in person, as he was getting violently pinned down to the floor and dragged away by a SWAT team as you screamed.
His piercing blue eyes and his handsome face were covered in blood coming from a deep wound over his eyebrow from the contact of a fist punch as he whispered a soft and reassuring "I will be fine; you will be fine."
That memory was forever tattooed in your brain, sometimes making you wake up with a cold sweat at night.
As you finish climbing the narrow swirl stairs that once may have been stunning, you open the enormous, washed-down, and scratched-wood double doors. They creak so loud, making the place echo, as the tall, muscular figure of a man looking out of an open, broken window turns your way, following the sound.
Your heart skips at the sight of him; you guess those feelings never truly disappeared.
He watches you approach him with the same expression as your heels clack loudly on the dirty, now opaque, tiled floor.
You rush your pace in the last couple of remaining steps. Reaching closer to Pascal's figure, a smile forms on his lips, expecting you to throw yourself into his arms.
But as you are millimeters away from his body, you slap him so hard, making his head turn. His lip bleeds a little bit from the contact before sinking into his neck as he pulls you in a really tight hug above the ground; your hand caresses his hair and cheek as you lay your foreheads in one another.
—It's great to see you, kid. We don't have much time —Pascal tells you as he places you back to the ground and points to the ankle monitor on his calf with a blinking light. —Inside this is the tracker; follow the protocol precisely as we practiced it, and everything will be alright. You are so brave —he hands you a green Hermes bag. —Go.
You want to talk to him more, say more, and let him know all that happened in your life after him and thanks to him, but he rushes you to leave, not wanting to expose you more than necessary, and for you to return to safety.
You slide your hand down his arm and squeeze his hand as you walk away, letting it go only when he gets out of your reach.
-
The weather at the track gets damn awful, umbrellas everywhere, grey skies, and all lights on, even if it's really early.
The free practice is a complete mess, thanks to the various puddles and Logan's car pinballing around.
Sam looks extremely uneasy that day under the stern scrutiny from Toto.
—Stop it. You are making me uneasy, too. What's with you? —he asks as Sam nervously moves around.
—Nothing, I don't want Lewis to crash or George to get hurt. That thing with Logan was awful —she lies quickly, as paramedics had to help him out of the car while many "ouchs" from the crowd were exchanged as he wasn't walking alright.
Toto looks at her with a deadly "Please, I'm not stupid" look.
But he lets it go before he overhears; Niki asks her directly as she reaches him. —Have you heard from her?
Sam knows exactly to whom (you) he is referring. —No.
And that's what makes her more nervous than anything. "Please, be ready," she thinks.
Toto raises an eyebrow at the interaction. Is something going on?!
-
You decide to show up until qualy.
You walk around the paddock and pitline as if following a path, but this is only noticeable if someone is paying you lots of attention, which Charles is.
He catches your step in the middle, distracting you; you cut him as he opens his mouth to say something.
—Not now, later —you look so authoritarian he doesn't protest. —I need to focus. Do you get it? —now you mutter to him, low.
He nods. —Take care, please —is all he says, and he walks away. He is not able to talk to you about what happened at the Gala and about all Seb told him; he only told him the bits Seb knew weren't to be kept.
Toto is there, too, observing your every move. The more he looks and follows you, the weirder it gets.
Judging by the expression you and Charles shared, how nerve-wracking Sam is acting, and how quiet Niki is, there is no way something isn't happening.
Could it be the aftermath of what happened at the Gala? To which he is the one to blame for.
-
Toto waits for the perfect moment to confront Sam. After the practice ends and everyone moves to the hospitality and headquarters, he notices the blond walking down the corridor of his office in the direction of Niki's. He quickly gets on his feet and follows her around. Sam notices and rushes her pace.
Out of nowhere, he pushes Sam softly against the wall to make her stop. —What's going on? Don't dare to lie to me —he looks dead concerned about it, borderline paranoid.
—It's not my place to tell you —she sadly replies and pushes him away too, roughly, knowing the last time she said those words, she ended up hurting a friend. —Don't push it! It won't work! My lips are sealed —she warns him as she fixes her shirt and returns to work.
—I know I fucked it up —Toto lets out, looking at Samanta's back as she faces the door down the hall as he leans one of his hands on the wall.
Fuck, he sounds so sad, almost wounded. Sam closes her eyes, feeling awful, before taking a step and walking away in total silence.
-
It's the eve of the Hungarian Grand Prix, and the paddock is abuzz with excitement and anticipation.
It's regular business with teams preparing their cars and mechanics working tirelessly to ensure every engine is revving if it wasn't for the extreme security present this time.
There are not-so-discreet gunmen in different places, catching the attention of some guests and team members.
Fans gather at the circuit, voices rising in cheers. The energy is palpable as everyone eagerly awaits the engines' roar and the tires' screech on the track.
This time, The Hungarian Grand Prix is more than just a race; today, it welcomes a peculiar, to say the least, special guest to participate in the opening ceremony: one political candidate, desperate to be in the spotlight and under the cameras, seizing the opportunity with the upcoming election just weeks from today.
It has been almost a year since your intelligence team confirmed to you that the juicy donations from Hungarian and Serbian accounts addressed to the FIA/F1 were the single most crucial lead to the man you have been hunting for years and years: Jószef Lenkov.
Lenkov had planned to tour the paddock on foot before arriving at the pit lane to participate in the committee during the country's anthem ceremony.
It's your only opportunity in decades to approach him, and you can't miss it. Your entire team and life depend on it; it's personal.
-
You feel sick to your stomach as you watch Lenkov and his entire entourage arrive. After all these years, he is there, in person, just meters away from you, as in one of your nightmares; there he is, the reason behind all the suffering in your life and the ones you love.
Even if you now have a different name and aspect and are being protected and monitored, a lingering fear is still deep in you.
You were just a child the last time you saw him.
God, how much you despise that man, how much you want to succeed in bringing him down, how much you want him gone for good.
-
You start casually walking closer and around them, near the distance but not enough to be noticed by all those guards protecting him.
You follow the path that you rehearsed thousands of times.
Everything goes according to plan until you make it to the pitlane on the final and most crucial move.
-
In a matter of seconds, your vision gets all blurry.
Your ear makes an awful whistling sound, and you feel stabs of pure pain on your right forearm, the one you just got up by instinct to protect you from smashing directly into the glass, which shatters enough to hurt you as you get pushed to the side against the glass barrier where Rolex had an interactive advertising booth for those with a VIP access.
Everyone near you watches the scene in genuine shock as one of the brutal security assholes of Lenkov forces you away from him.
As you approach the older man from behind, you are able to place your hands on his shoulder and just above his jacket pocket inside that entourage of suited security men as he waves the crowds of militants in the stands supporting him.
Lewis watches, shocked at how little you react to such a violent punch. There is almost no expression in response from you, no wincing, which raises all his alarms.
Samanta tries her best to look as surprised as the rest, and thank God Toto next to her is fuming with rage that doesn't pay her any attention.
Since yesterday, he has been suspicious that something is going on and has followed her closely the entire day, too, so she has remained as far from you as possible.
A lot happens around you as you recover; Lenkov doesn't even bother to turn around or give his attention to the commotion as he gets rushed away from the scene by his team of gorillas guarding him.
Your blood starts spilling everywhere on the pitlane concrete floor; it seems and feels like a deep cut on the forearm.
FIA security holds the violent bodyguard and escorts him out, and aid comes your way.
You compose yourself reasonably quickly.
Out of the corner of your eyes, you notice your entire team of mechanics and drivers moving towards the guy with killer instincts since everything is happening barely a meter away from your garage entry.
—Anyone who dares to move an inch gets out of this team —you warn them in such a dangerous, deep voice. Something no one has witnessed you do before.
Millie looks at you as you have transformed into someone else, like something buried inside you has come out.
No one dares to move.
You rush to grab one of the mechanics' jackets and tighten it around your arm, trying to stop the bleeding. Paramedics arrive as fast as possible and start working on your nasty wound.
Once inside the ambulance, you instruct them to take you straight to your hotel room against their will; you let them know it's an order, not an option.
You catch a glimpse of Pascal among the crowds near the pit stop. Now, he knows you have accomplished the job because of the smile you give him through the open door of the ambulance, like a lioness before eating her sleep prey.
-
After getting some provisional stitches and a fresh bandage, you arrive at the Corinthia Hotel.
The white gauze gets redder with every step you take. Still, you hide it well behind the space thermal blanket the paramedics give you, walking as fast as possible, trying to avoid grabbing the attention of the guests in the hotel on your way to your destination.
Drops of blood are on your expensive pink glaze tweed Valentino dress.
You knock on the room you got instructed to, using the signal number of knocks your team told you to.
You quickly enter the large double room once they open the door for you. The curtains are closed, and the lights are on. A team of six guys on computers with tons of cables and some devices wrapped in foil, along with a couple of gunned men, greet you.
An exceedingly handsome, fit man in an expensive Armani power suit sits on the couch, legs crossed, with a drink in his hand.
He turns to talk to you. —We got signal! Now we can trace him —he informs you; he notices you are hurt and instantly gets concerned, and his fierce eyes softened.
Everyone claps as you collapse next to him on the couch. He grabs your once again bloody hand and comes close to kneel in front of you, sharing an intimate moment as tears run down your cheeks, not knowing if it was the emotion of the moment or the pain provoking them.
—You succeeded! I'm so proud of you —Matt rubs a finger on your bruised knuckles and softly kisses them —The tracker you placed on Lenkov will lead us to his current quarters. I will take it from here.
You nod, exhausted.
—You are done more than enough; now I have to play my part —he informs you.
—What?! —you let out as your heart skips.
—If I don't cause a scene, it will raise questions.
—Wait, Matt, it's unnecessary! I don't think they notice; the FIA aren't exceptionally bright...
—You just got slaughtered in our team garage, and you think it is not necessary? —he looks at you with an exasperated face.
—You don't need to show up! I can handle this! I don't require you to intervene! —you enter complete panic mode; you need more time and want more time.
—What you need is a surgeon; that cut seems deep, but they will take you to the hospital now. I will meet you there after visiting the pitlane —Matt ends the conversation right there, his beautiful clear blue eyes looking authoritarian at you.
—Matthew, no, wait! —you know it is impossible to make that man change his mind; once he makes a decision, it gets done. You all live in a world that is his. You know how erratic, spoiled, and unreliable he is.
There it is, the control freak from which you ran away.
Your limbs get cold as you have this conversation, and moving causes you so much pain now, so you let your case rest, knowing there's nothing else you can do.
More tears run down your face, but not caused by the wound; it is your heart bleeding.
-
Samanta watches Matthew walk past the Mercedes garage's front like she is seeing a walking ghost.
He looks gorgeous, with perfect hair, on-point clothes, and swaggy steps, but this time, he has a lethal gaze.
He tilts his head and looks straight at her for a second. Sensing her eyes on him, Matt subtely smirks at Sam and keeps going.
Sam stays still, watching, knowing everything is about to change.
—All good? —Lewis asks her, concerned, witnessing the interaction.
—Yes, I'm just shocked and worried about what happened! I hope she's doing okay!
—We all do —Niki joins the conversation, looking somber, hands in his pockets. Then, he softly whispers to Sam. —I hope she succeeded.
—Me too —Sam answers, knowing that he knows.
Toto is quiet and reflective in his chair, far from them. Sam does everything possible not to cross his sight and avoids him the rest of the night.
He has many questions and needs your answers.
If you ever want to talk to him ever.
He prays God you do.
That you still want him.
-
Matthew arrives at the gruesome scene with a group of lawyers, who carry cameras and tablets and start taking pictures and collecting testimonials.
Of course, it is all pretend; your team is about to control the narrative of the events: "It was a non-related security brokerage" is about to fill social media, bots, press, and TV.
The FIA is about to be blamed for having weak security protocols for its people.
Matt is not pleased to see your blood spread all over the pitstop's concrete floors. He feels murderous inside, and he looks like it.
He notices many curious eyes set on him, but he is used to it; a man with his appearance always draws attention anyway.
Schumi walks to him. —Hi, Mr. De Vos. Is Y/N okay, boss?!
—I just got informed she is at the hospital right now getting surgery. I will be by her side soon. I needed to see it first with my own eyes. I can't believe this! —fuck he sounds pissed looking at the "crime scene."
-
The next day, the stewards were going nuts trying to manage the entire situation, and the busy FIA scheduled a meeting to discuss the violent events with all the astonished team principals.
To reassure them that they were handling the situation and that there was no need for anyone not to feel safe, and to say: "It won't happen again, we swear."
—I didn't know Ken existed in real life! —Otmar jokes under his breath with Mattia and Fred as they all watch Matthew having a call on the other side of the clear glass panel walls outside the meeting room.
All TPs are gathered in a vacant and enormous room, along with some team owners, waiting for Massi to arrive and discuss the gruesome circumstances of the night before.
Matthew enters the room, grabbing everyone's attention and provoking a "Who is this guy?" face on the men inside.
His blonde lawyer waits for him outside just by the door; they both look busy.
That blonde guy looks familiar to Toto. Oh, yeah! It's Sam's brother.
Matthew joins the circle of chairs. —Couldn't they get cheaper ones? —he jokes as the thing squeaks with his weight. He is very muscular but lean, like a model.
Everyone laughs, agreeing.
—We look like we are about to take fucking therapy —Gunther colorfully adds.
Horner chuckles at his comment.
—My name is Zack, and I'm addicted to speed —he teases.
—Hi, Zack! —three of them answer in unison.
—I'm Christian. I'm addicted to winning —Horner jokes, too.
—Mr. Lauda —Matthew greets him, standing to receive a hug from the older man as he joins the group.
—Oh, so handsome as ever! —Niki comments on Matt's good looks and pats his face. Matt doesn't seem bothered by it; he has quite an authoritarian presence and a stern face that could spam from the sweetest thing to a serial killer within seconds, but he smiles at Niki.
—How is she? —Niki asks, concerned for your well-being.
—She went through reconstructive surgery, which took five hours. The glass cut tendons and nerves, so she needs to take therapy to get her movement back. She can't feel pressure or heat on her fingers and has minimal movement on her entire arm.
—Yeah, all sense gets gone for a good couple of weeks —Niki states. He knows the procedures well; he went through some after his crash. —I'm calling her to advise her on how to deal with it; it gets frustrating.
—That would be fantastic. Y/N will very much appreciate your supporting words; she is still shaken by all that has happened.
—And what happened exactly? —Mattia inserts himself in their conversation. Matthew turns to him with a cold expression, a mixture of "you aren't part of this conversation" and "I don't have anything to explain to you."
—According to the FIA, it was just a simple "accident," but my team differs —Matthew answers him with sarcasm and deadpan.
Toto already dislikes Matt. He acts arrogant and entitled. Niki sits beside him, and Massi rushes in, followed by a group of stewards and his assistants.
—Apologies, it's been crazy! Oh! Mr. De Vos, thank you for joining us!
"Mr. De Vos?!" Toto's expression changes from annoyed to surprised as he stares for the first time straight at him, to which Matthew holds his look.
Matt instantly switches personalities as Massi addresses him. His pose goes from relaxed on his chair to dangerous, with one leg resting on his knee. His eyes look harsh, like a wolf about to bite the lamb's neck.
—This can't happen again —he says in the most authoritarian voice, with no greeting. Massi's eyes widen. —This wasn't an accident; it was incompetence from your security, your organization, and yours —Matthew destroys him.
He knows playing with your food is not polite, but he isn't the most successful man in his type of business by being kind or soft. —Bring your PR team. I need to have a word with them —Matt continues.
Massi looks at him, alarmed, but nods, agreeing.
—Now —Matt slowly and softly finishes saying.
Massi nods again and quickly goes out of the room.
—Can we hire you? —Stroll asks Matt in awe.
—You don't have that kind of money —he jokes back.
"Yes, he is insufferable," Toto thinks.
-
After an extensive meeting, Matthew gives the FIA two months to develop a new and better security protocol, or they will sue.
-
After receiving many concerned texts and "I hope you get better soon" mentions, you finally replied in the group chat: "I now have a bionic forearm, but it doesn't shoot lasers. Bummer!"
"I have something in my body that shoots too, but neither is my arm nor are lasers," Lando jokes.
Everyone laughs.
-
During the break that the Mercedes team takes to lunch, Sam visits you at the hospital, and she takes you tons of gifts. She is the only one who is allowed to visit you or knows your location.
Among the gifts is a letter from Toto that you don't dare to open.
-
After returning from the hospital, Sam joins the girl squad for a much-needed chat.
—He looks fake! It's like the Greeks marbled him —Millie says, checking out Matthew while he talks with a man obstructed by a poster with Sam, Angela, and Brigita beside her.
—He is so handsome! That's some cute, firm bubble booty —Angela lusts for him.
—And you haven't seen him without a shirt; he has abs for days —Sam informs them.
—One can only imagine —Brigita whispers.
Matthew is chatting with Alexi, Sam's brother, behind the sign, obstructing Millie's view until he moves.
As soon as she notices Alexi, she hugs and greets him. —Uncle! —she lets out, throwing herself into his arms, excited as they embrace each other.
Sam joins them against her will. —How lovely! A family reunion, yikes! —she says sarcastically, pretending to hate the thing.
They all candidly talk till Niki and Toto reach them.
—You don't remember Matthew?! Really? Are you sure?! —Alexi looks incredulous at Millie as he asks her.
She denies fiercely with her head.
—But he has been invited to many family gatherings!
—Nope! —Millie then gestures at Matt's body with her hand. —If I had seen this, I would remember it, believe me! —then she turns to him, a bit red on the cheeks. —With all due respect —she adds, and Matthew shrugs, amused.
—Don't boost his ego, please. It's already enormous —Sam rolls her eyes at them.
—No worries! —Alexi addresses his niece. —He is so used to this; a girl once fainted before him. No joking; it happened during our college years. You were so popular with the girls —then turns to face Matthew. —Y/N was the most envied girl on campus —Alexi finishes saying and then looks at the two men now joining them.
—You must be Sam's brother —Toto extends a hand to him, to Niki's right.
—Yes, I am! I have heard so much of you —he says as they shake hands. Alexi looks very friendly and chatty, utterly different from Sam and Matt. It could be more like Millie's genes; maybe it's that part of his family.
—I hope nice things! —Toto jokes.
—Apparently, this gremlin is fond of you —he smirks at a now embarrassed Sam at the revelation.
Alexi is Matthew's lawyer. They have been friends since childhood, since the womb as their families have been close for centuries. Yes, centuries, big old-timey money with insulting fortunes, the kind of money that would make someone sick.
They both studied law at Cambridge at the same time.
Alexi then quickly adds. —You haven't been introduced to each other, right? Matthew, this is Toto Wol..
—I know —Matt cuts him. —We just saw each other at the meeting.
None of them moves an inch to greet the other. An awkward tension is palpable.
—Oh, well, then. Anyway, this "knows it all" is Matthew De Vos, owner of the Williams team and Y/N's husband.
"Y/N'S HUSBAND! WHAT THE FUUUU-!" Toto struggles to play it cool.
To be continued... < Previous chapter | Masterlist | Next chapter > - A new arc is here with lots to unpack and reveal! Finally, we are getting to more know about her! I hope you liked this chapter, but prepare for what comes next! Read you soon <3

Tumblr media
The Californian sky was covered in haze that one Thursday. Luke stared at the cafe arguably named after a Steve Perry song: For the Love of Strange Medicine. It was fitting since Luke basically considered coffee to be his medicine, not to mention the delicious pretzels he had bought from the very same cafe a few days ago.
Luke rubbed his eyes and yawned, taking in the last smokes of the cigarette he had been inhaling on for the last three minutes. He swore to himself that it would be the last day he'd smoke. It wasn't. He pulled his phone out: 6:58am. He hated early mornings, and he hated how the cafe still wasn't open. Two more minutes, he told himself. He was growing impatient. Maybe it was the stress of recording a new album, maybe it was the fight he had with the manager last night.
When the clock hit 7am, you opened up the cafe. You gave Luke a soft yet tiresome smile which screamed It’s too damn early for this and he returned the favor. Luke saw the name tag on your black t-shirt: Y/N.
As time went by, Luke visited the cafe several times in an attempt to see your face again. To his misfortune, you weren’t working during any of those shifts. You had cut down your hours because of the intense lecture schedule. Luckily for Luke, you bumped into each other at a local festival while you both were watching Green Day play.
Your and Luke's friend groups emerged that night and you enjoyed his company too much for your own liking. You didn’t do men. You didn’t hang around them. Not even as friends. They all caused trouble for you. But with him, everything was different somehow. The night ended with you and Luke in your hotel room. There was nothing sexual about that night if not counting your lingering gazes at each other. You and Luke stayed up until seven in the morning, sharing your love of Green Day and Stranger Things, and talking about everything and nothing at the same time.
Luke and you started to grow closer since spending time together. It had been nearly 3 months since you had met and you felt as if you've known him for your whole life. Then Luke went on tour and he didn't want to believe he couldn't see your face as frequently anymore. You made him feel seen and most importantly, safe.
One time Ashton, Calum and Michael caught Luke looking at your Instagram pictures before a show. The boys couldn’t let it go and stop teasing about the way he was biting his lip nervously while scrolling through your Instagram page. Luke convinced them there was nothing to tease about. You were just friends, and that’s the way it would always be. Your lives were so different from each other; you, a part-time barista and a university student and Luke, a touring rockstar. It could never work.
You tried to forget your feelings for your friend, you really did. But you couldn't. Every corner of your flat and everyone you met reminded you of Luke. Even if it was someone’s blonde hair or a tiny detail in their jacket. Everyday activities such as going grocery shopping which you normally enjoyed couldn’t get him off your mind. You’d see the Australian-grown coffee beans. Boom, Luke. Lavender-scented laundry detergent he used. Luke again. And the fact that Luke texted you every day didn't help in the process of trying to forget the feelings you had for him.
—❦
You were attending a party tonight. But not just any party, Calum's party. His parties were known for a good time and endless bottles of free booze.
You wiggled on your black leather dress, which you had just bought. It barely covered your knees and you loved how it hugged you from all the right places. The combo of the leather dress, red lipstick and curly hair gave you all the confidence you needed to go out tonight and see Luke. Yes, he was your friend but you still felt nervous around him. And you blamed him for that. His James Dean glossy eyes and irresistibly long curly hair. His charm and his stupid dad jokes. You were whipped for him and it was a wonder no one around you noticed that. Or that’s what you thought anyway.
You recall the last time you had seen Luke. He had called you and asked to pick him up from his apartment a week ago. You knocked on his door and saw him with someone. A tall, gorgeous woman. Seeing the model-looking brunette beside Luke made your stomach flip. He seemed so happy with his arms around her waist. Maybe he had met her when he was on tour. You greeted them both and bit the insides of your cheek. That memory reminded you of the time you were helping him to pick out an outfit for him for his date a few weeks ago. Maybe it was for her. He had just returned back home from the tour and the poor man was all over the place. Maybe it was nerves, maybe he was just tired from touring. You imagined how Luke would get ready for your date and ask for assistance from Ashton, Michael and Calum. But that would never happen, so you snapped out of the thought. You were only hurting yourself by having these thoughts. You were such a fool for him, and you didn't know how to make it stop.
You sat down on top of your bed and decided to check Instagram on your phone. “He’s so pretty I think I’m gonna faint”, you whispered mainly just to yourself.
“Who are you talking about?”, your friend heard your little comment and frowned their eyebrows.
“Uh….maybe I’ll keep it a secret”, you winked.
“C’mon Y/N!”.
“Okay, I was talking about Timothée Chalamet. He looks so pretty”, was the lie you came up with. You couldn’t tell them you were talking about Luke. You had just seen his new Instagram photo and can’t get over his pretty blue eyes. And his curly locks. And that god-damn jawline. And his….well, everything.
“I know right! Maybe we should go watch the new movie so we’ll have some eye candy”, your friend winked.
“It’s a date”, you laughed.
You were still waiting for Luke to pick you and your two friends up. But he was late, like he always was. You had lectured him about his tendency to be late countless times. But he could never learn, could he? It was needless to say that you were pissed off.
Twenty minutes rolled by and Luke finally showed up. He offered his apologies to you and your friends. Your friends had already gone out and got themselves seated in the car, while you and Luke were still inside of your flat. Luke needed hairspray to lock his hair in place. Then Luke made his way to the hallway while you were checking that you had everything necessary with you. That one time you forgot your keys back home still haunted you, hence you had to double-check everything now.
“You got everything?”, Luke held the door open for you and the button of his already opened black and white star-patterned collar shirt popped off. “Oops”, he chuckled to himself. He didn’t bother to fix it. Not when he noticed you basically drooling over him.
“Yeah”, you answered nonchalantly and avoided eye contact with him. You had been on the edge the whole day and Luke being late didn’t exactly make you feel any better.
“I hate that you’re mad at me, but you look so hot right now”, he smirked at you. Luke was always like this with you. He flirted with you and you flirted back when it felt natural. But since he started to hang around the brunette woman - whose name you didn’t even know - you started to think that maybe you should stop flirting back. But you didn’t know if they were exclusive or not. Luke didn’t exactly bother to open up about the romance department in his life. Not to you anyway.
“Thanks. I like your hair”, you commented. You noted how he saw you fiddling with your bracelet. It was the one Luke won from Push A Prize that one Saturday night in July. Its pearls were your favorite color, blue.
“Don’t you think it’s a bit too long?”.
“I think it’s good”.
“Just good? Don’t you mean gorgeous? Perfect?”, the blonde rockstar snarked.
“Shut up”, you slapped his hand gently and giggled.
"You okay?", he asked quietly as you were still fiddling with the bracelet.
"Yep, let's go", you gave Luke a small smile and received a nod in return. You took the passenger seat and he sat next to you and fired the engine.
“Took long enough”, one of your friends commented. “Blame Luke and his Prince Charming hair”, you rolled your eyes and looked at your friends in the backseat, and then at the man beside you.
"Geez, thanks for throwing me under the bus", Luke answered sarcastically, tapped the steering wheel with his fingers and turned the music up. Nickelback, of course.
You arrived at Calum’s house. You were walking side to side with the blondie, hand in hand. It was natural. You gravitated towards each other all the time, but you took it as a sign that you felt comfortable with him. Not just anyone could make you feel this way.
“We’re in public, you know that right?”, you asked him as he was still holding your hand. You couldn't even count the times people mistook you for a couple, and doing these kinds of things that could be seen as couple-y felt a bit odd for you sometimes.
“Yup”, he popped the p and offered you a cheeky grin.
“So why are you still holding my hand?”, you genuinely asked Luke whose eyes were fixated on the crowd of people mingling.
“Don’t want you to get lost. I know you’re bad at taking directions”, he smirked and saw you looking at him with a questionable look. Those words sounded like honey and you hated yourself for it. Oh, only if he wasn’t as charming as he was. It would make everything so much easier for you.
“Right”, you laughed it off and rolled your eyes. It’s not like you haven’t been to Calum’s house a million times before…
“You should wear that dress more often”, he cooed confidently into your ear and let go of your hand.
“Okay, Mr. Leather Pants”, you laughed and avoided his eye contact. You disappeared into the sea of people and fixed yourself a drink. You didn't really know what to think about Luke's behavior. He was flirtier than usual and you couldn't pinpoint why. The next few hours were spent by dancing with your friends and having conversations with drunken strangers.

Later, you noticed Luke navigating through the crowd to get to you. He spent a few minutes explaining how his leather boots got stuck in the mud in Europe while touring and how you would have laughed your ass off if you had seen that. Then, the unimaginable happened and he started spinning you around the dance floor. He had always been a fun drunk, that's for sure. He dropped you down carefully from the air and his hands laid comfortably on your waist. But not for long as the upbeat song shifted into a slow one, a shortened version of Give Me Love by Ed Sheeran. Shit.
You wrapped your hands around his neck almost intuitively. “Fuck it, let’s show them how to dance”, you lifted your left eyebrow and thought of how your hands will be sweaty in under a minute. Or twenty seconds, if you were being completely honest.
Luke placed his ring-covered hands, noticeably bigger than yours, back to your waist. “We’re so much better at this than these amateurs”, he looked deeply into your eyes and it felt like he scanned every little feature in your face. It felt intimidating. Being that close to Luke. Being that close with Luke.
“You should definitely consider Dancing with the Stars”, you commented and smiled as you intertwined your fingers behind his neck.
“You reckon?”, his eyes lit up and it's like you could almost see a blush creeping upon his cheeks.
“I see the UK accent has made a mark on you. Has a nice ring to it”, you confessed as you slow danced with your best friend.
“Thanks to you, ms. English Love Affair", Luke gave you a dirty look and chuckled semi-nervously afterwards.
"Oh, you wish", you replied with a nervous giggle and you two continued dancing in silence.

At 3am the party seems to die out and as usual, Luke walks you to your apartment. About half of the 15 minute walk you have talked about utter nonsense, like how many squirrels Luke saw during the tour and how many latte macchiatos you did during the time he was away.
“Can I ask you a question?", you asked as your heels clacked along the concrete.
“Sure”, Luke answers almost instantly, coughing afterwards.
“You were flirting with me the whole night and…”, you started your monologue which you had planned during the party.
“That’s not a question”, he interrupted and gave you a wink.
“Let me finish, you dumbass”, you answered, your tone being a mixture of playful and irritated.
He zipped his mouth and smiled back at you. You were standing in the front of your apartment, feeling a little cold in the chilly autumn air.
“I just wonder…why?”.
“Don’t we do that, like, all the time?”, he chuckled and stared down at his hands, then scanning your face for a while.
“I guess so, yeah. But it’s innocent. It wasn’t like that today. Or am I crazy? Am I imagining this? Please tell me it was just my imagination, I can- ”, you explained and could already feel how humiliated you'd feel soon.
“I don’t really like to tell you to shut up, but just for once, shhh Y/N. It wasn’t just you”, he took a step closer to you and placed a strand of your hair behind your ear. “I like you. Definitely have for a while. Maybe the whole time I’ve known you. I like spending time with you. You are the funniest person I know. And you give the best fashion advice. And beneath that sarcastic exterior is such a soft and empathetic soul. You don’t brag about your kindness, which makes it real. And I could talk to you for hours and never get bored. And for you, I would do the dishes happily. Believe it or not, no one has ever managed to bring out that side of me”, he chuckled as you remain speechless. His sudden declaration of love - well maybe not love, interest perhaps - made you grin like a child who just got a new toy.
“And shit, Y/N, I just adore you. And the way your laugh reminds me of home. I lo-, like how you play with your earrings when you are nervous. It’s adorable. And I-”,
“I don’t need to hear a novel of how much you like me, Luke”, you interrupted him.
“I know, but you deserve it”, he spoke softly and his lips turned into the classic Luke smile, which you found incredibly sweet.
“Save it for later”, you took a long look at those eyes that reminded you of the ocean and down to his pink and plump lips which you had dreamt of kissing for so long.
And then it happened. His lips were pressed against yours, making the time stop for a while. And his hands in your hair, tugging them slightly, not enough to hurt. Your fingers held the waistband of his pants. The way he moved his lips against yours was hungry, desperate, full of emotion he had never been able to release. It was electric, enough to make you release a little moan into his mouth.
“What the fuck is happening here?”, you heard all of the sudden and both of you turned to see none other than the Michael Clifford pressed against the door.
“And what the fuck are you doing in my apartment?”.

Chapter 8 | Master List | Ao3
---------------------------------------
Chapter 9
Working on base was a whole different beast. While you still dealt with cocky pilots and big personalities, the transitory nature of working with the military meant no one was entrenched in their positions. Orders came through every few years, so squadrons were rebuilt repeatedly. The GS folks tended to stay in place, but with everyone spread across the different squadrons, a majority of the communication was held over Teams with weekly in-person meetings. Only four of your coworkers were with you in the Bounty Hunter’s hanger - and it was nice that you weren’t the only woman on the team.
The higher-ups didn’t stand for any disrespect to the GS employees. Once, in a standing-room-only meeting, an Admiral had forced a Petty Officer out of his seat for you. You were never called ‘sweetheart’ or asked to get coffee for the meeting. Even though you asked them to call you by your first name, you were often addressed as Ma’am or by your last name.
It helped that you and Jake had hosted a misfit's Christmas party.
Your parents had a tradition of inviting any Airmen that didn’t have someone to spend the holidays with to their house. It had started with them as a young married couple away from their families for the first time, and later as Dad climbed the ranks and became an NCO, he wanted to take care of his guys. So when they visited for Christmas and Jake gave them a flight line tour, it just kind of happened. The get-together ballooned from the four of you and Javy to about 30 people at Jake’s place - pilots, WSOs, and a few of your coworkers. There were single folks and married couples. When one of Javy’s coworkers showed up with their newborn, Mom was more than happy to play grandma and ensure the new parents had time to eat and relax. Everyone had contributed a dish, and beer pong and cornhole games were set up in the backyard. You and Javy ruled the beer pong table for four rounds before finally losing to Jake and a WSO called Boondock.
For all his worry about meeting your parents, Jake had done phenomenally. Mom surprised him with a homemade stocking that matched yours, and he’d had to clear his throat a few times before thanking her. Dad gifted him an Air Force t-shirt and laughed when Jake thanked him for the rag to clean his truck tires.
December faded into January, and Jake drunkenly declared that he was going to marry you when you kissed in the new year.
Your first big fight was on January 3rd when your apartment’s 60-day lease renewal notice appeared on your front door. Jake wanted you to end your lease and move in. You wanted to keep your place - moving in 10 months into a relationship wasn’t part of the agreement, and you liked having your own space. He demanded to know what about your relationship made you question moving in. You tried to tell him that it wasn’t about not feeling stable in your relationship. It was about your comfort. He snapped that he wasn’t your ex trying to trap you. When he stormed out of the apartment, you refused to apologize. The stalemate went on for three days until you sent him a picture of your new short-term lease that would end in September - four months after your anniversary. Rent would be more expensive, but it was at least a compromise.
Your second fight was about communication when he showed up at your apartment the next day.
Happy Anniversary, darlin’. I wish I was with you, but we’ll celebrate when I get home. Love you so much - Jake
The flowers - the same arrangement that he’d bought you the first time he’d asked you out - had shown up on your desk first thing in the morning, and you’d endured some gentle teasing by the aviators, mechanics, and coworkers. And while you’d looked forward to celebrating one year with your boyfriend, unfortunately, he was deployed across the state with Javy.
What he didn’t know was that you planned on surprising him.
The late afternoon flight to Mirimar only took an hour. You left straight from the office, your weekend bag waiting in the trunk. You had a meeting with your old company to discuss a delayed delivery, and it had been so satisfying to see your old coworkers squirm when you asked them to explain the delay of services and the implementation of the penalties that had previously been negotiated. In preparation for the meeting, you’d decided to dress up a bit more than usual, anticipating getting to change before heading to the airport - traveling in a pencil skirt and button-down wasn’t the most comfortable. But the meeting had run long, and you’d had to speed to the airport only to find out your flight was delayed. And delayed again.
It was almost 6:00 PM when you landed, and you’d missed Jake’s after-work call. Quickly, you texted him that you were stuck at the office and would call him back. He made your life easy by saying he would be at the bar but would make sure to step out to answer. He’d already told you about the regular spot the pilots congregated at, so you had a good idea of where you could find him. If all else failed, you could text Javy.
Thankfully you were able to pick up your rental car relatively quickly. Since you were planning to spend time by the beach, you'd decided to splurge on a convertible. They gave you a newer Mustang, and you quickly snapped a picture to send to your dad.
The Hard Deck was a cute beachside bar and popular if the parking lot was anything to go by, especially for a Wednesday. After fixing your hair and freshening your lipstick, you hesitated a moment before undoing an extra button on your blouse. Leaning against the back of the car, you quickly swapped out your flats for a pair of stilettos that Jake loved, ignoring the looks of a few other patrons heading inside. With a final check to make sure your shirt was tucked in and your belt was straight, you headed inside.
80s music greeted you as you pushed open the door. Glancing up, you saw beer steins and replica planes hung on the ceiling and patches decorating the walls. Skirting the edge of the room, you kept your eyes peeled for your boyfriend.
After a week and a half, he was a sight for sore eyes, backlit by the setting sun as he lifted a beer bottle to his lips and watched a game of pool, checking his phone. Laughing to yourself, you texted him.
Leaving in five minutes. I’ll call you as soon as I’m off base.
He set his beer down and smiled at his phone. A minute later, yours vibrated in your hand.
Good thing we didn’t have plans tonight. Don’t forget to bring your flowers home.
Have I told you how much I love them? You texted back while making your way to the bar.
I hope so. Blew my entire flower budget on this cute GS contract admin. Smiling, you leaned against the bar and waited to order, eyes trained on Jake, who kept glancing at his phone.
“What can I get you?” the bartender asked.
“Hi - can I get a whiskey and Coke and whatever that gentleman over there is drinking?” She turned to look at where you were pointing. Her smile was slightly more sarcastic when she turned back.
“I wouldn’t waste your time, sweetie.”
“Thanks for the advice, but I’ll take my chances. Do you have drink runners?”
“Might as well save yourself the money,” the man beside you said. “Hangman’s not worth the trouble.” You glanced at him - he wore a flight suit, which seemed to be a pretty standard uniform at The Hard Deck.
“Is that so?” you replied, reading his name patch. Yale. As the bartender got the drinks, you turned to face him, crossing your arms over your chest.
“Yup. So how about we take those drinks and find a place to get to know one another.” His eyes flitted to your cleavage. When his gaze met yours again, you raised an eyebrow. You’d forgotten how cocky pilots were off base, surrounded by civilians. Anytime you were around them at home, the ones you interacted with either knew you from work or saw you with Jake and treated you with respect. The thought of putting him in his place made the corner of your mouth lift into a smirk.
“How do you feel about a friendly bet?” Yale faced you, arm draped across the bar so his fingers nearly brushed yours.
“What’s the bet?”
“Hangman - that’s what you called him? - leaves with me tonight.”
“And the terms?”
“If I’m right, you pay for our first round. But if you’re right, I'll pick up your tab for the night.”
“That’s more than two drinks - I’ve already paid for rounds for my friends.” You shrugged. “You pick up my tab and have a drink with me.”
“One that I would be paying for, presumably, since I’d pick up your tab?”
“A bet’s a bet.”
You paused, tapping your finger against your lower lip as though debating your response. “Two-for-one terms don’t work for me. If you want me to pick up your tab and have a drink with you, you’ll have to pay for all my drinks for the night. Plus his.”
“Done.” When he extended his hand, you reached for it but paused before shaking.
“You have to bring him the beer.” When he shrugged, you shook his hand, forcing yourself not to laugh. When he reached for the bottle in front of you, you stopped him. “Hang on. This too.” Grabbing a clean napkin and a pen from the bar, you quickly scribbled a note before folding the napkin in half and handing it to Yale.
“Thanks for the beers,” he smirked.
“We’ll see.” With a chuckle and wink, he walked back towards the pool table. You tracked him, sipping your cocktail before glancing over in time to see Javy spot you. His mouth opened in surprise, and you quickly pressed a finger to your lips, motioning him to be quiet. Yale handed Jake the beer just as Javy reached his side. He scowled at the napkin as Yale said something. Javy glanced over Jake’s shoulder and grinned at you when he unfolded it.
Jake said something to Yale before looking at the bar, gaze running over the other patrons. Finally, his green eyes landed on you. His frown faded, and your favorite crooked grin appeared. Turning to Yale, he nodded before lifting the beer to his mouth and taking a pull as he started towards you. Unerringly, his eyes found you as he navigated the crowd.
And then he was there, grinning down at you. “Working late, huh?”
“Something like that,” you laughed. Jake lifted the napkin and cocked an eyebrow.
“You’re stealing my moves, darlin’. Now, why exactly am I playing it cool?”
“Because I’m about to take care of our tab for the night.” Stepping closer, you placed one hand on his chest, feeling his heart pounding under your palm, and arched an eyebrow. “I bet Yale that I could take Hangman home tonight.” Jake’s hand rested on your hip as he stepped closer, looming over you.
“And what’d he bet?”
“That I couldn’t, and I’d have a drink with him and pick up his tab.” His eyes left yours to dart over to where Yale and Javy stood. Both men watched your exchange, Javy grinning around his beer while Yale looked disappointed.
“Fuck the bet. I’ve got your drinks for the night,” he growled. His lips crashed into yours, hand sliding from your hip to your lower back and hauling you closer. He took advantage of your startled gasp and slipped his tongue into your mouth. Your hand slid up his chest to cup his jaw, thumb rasping against his stubble. When you finally broke apart, you lightly swept your thumb over his lower lip to wipe away your lipstick. “What are you doing here?” Jake asked softly.
“Well,” you smiled, “it’s important to hold negotiations face-to-face whenever possible.”
“That right?”
“Yup. So are you ready to discuss the contract, Lieutenant?” Placing his beer beside your glass, he unzipped one of his pockets and pulled out his wallet. Instead of pulling out his credit card, he handed you a folded piece of paper. Tears sprang to your eyes when you opened it.
It was your original contract.
“Ready whenever you are. Got a whole list of updates that I want.” You swayed closer and tilted your head back. Jake’s kiss was softer this time. “Love you, darlin’.”
“Love you too, babe.”
“Wanna get out of here?”
“You don’t want to introduce me to your friends?”
“Not if they’re gonna hit on you,” he scoffed. You laughed, refolding the paper and handing it back. He slipped it into his wallet.
“I want to say hi to Javy and finish my drink. Then we can go back to my hotel.” Grabbing your glass, you pushed off the bar and walked away. Jake dragged his eyes down your body, lingering on your legs, before following.
Javy met your halfway and pulled you in for a hug. “Couldn’t even go two weeks without his ugly mug. What are you gonna do when he’s on a longer deployment?”
“Well, first, let’s not put that into the universe,” you laughed. “And second, it’s only because it’s a special occasion.”
“Right. Not sure how you put up with him for a year.”
“You’ve put up with him longer than I have.”
“Alright, alright,” Jake huffed, tossing his arm across your shoulders and tugging you close.
“I checked on your place yesterday,” you told Javy. “Everything’s good - I brought in a bit of mail that didn’t get stopped.”
“You’re the best. How long are you here for?”
“I fly out Sunday morning. I have to work from the hotel tomorrow, but other than that I’m - ”
“Plenty of time to talk later, then,” Jake said, gently tugging you away. “Say bye to Coyote.”
“Pool later?” you asked, pointing at Javy, who chuckled and nodded as you were pulled towards the back door. As you passed Yale, Jake lifted his hand from your shoulder and flipped him off. You couldn’t help but laugh as you stepped onto the deck. He led you to the stairs and paused long enough for you to kick off your heels before walking towards the line of Adirondack chairs facing the ocean.
“C’mere,” he said as soon as he settled in one of the chairs, patting his thigh. You stood between his knees and dropped your shoes, placing your drink on the chair arm beside his beer.
“God,” you sighed, curling your toes in the sand, “it’s been forever since I’ve been to the beach.”
“Can’t believe you’re here,” Jake said, sitting up and wrapping his hands around your thighs, pushing the material further up your legs. His tongue darted out to wet his lips as he guided you closer. “I love and hate this skirt.”
“Oh?”
“You look sexy as hell in it, but it’s too tight to let me touch you the way I want.”
“That’s probably a good thing since we’re in public and surrounded by your coworkers.” Leaning down, you rested one hand on his shoulder and ran your fingers through his hair. “Missed you, Seresin. Happy anniversary.”
“Happy anniversary,” he echoed, tugging you down to straddle his knee. Your skirt was tight across your legs and ass, and the wood was uncomfortable on your knees, but it didn’t matter when Jake’s lips pressed against yours, licking into your mouth as his fingers dug into your waist. When the wind blew your hair into your faces, you laughed against his mouth. He chased your lips when you pulled away and groaned when you stood up. Turning, you settled on the chair between his legs and leaned back against his chest, your bare feet brushing against his boots.
“So, how was work today, Hangman?” you asked. The setting sun reflected off the ocean as you entwined your fingers together and rested them on your stomach.
“Good. Spent the day in the air working the training course.”
“For the mission you can’t tell me about, even though I have a top-secret clearance.”
"Yup.” His nose brushed your throat as you took a sip of your drink.
“Is it really dangerous?” His hesitation was the only answer you needed.
“They brought in the best. Which for some reason includes those idiots in there,” he said, squeezing your hand. You knew he was trying to lighten the mood.
“Well, not everyone’s a Seresin,” you shrugged.
“You could be.” You sputtered, a bit of your drink spilling onto your chest. Chuckling, Jake lifted his hand to wipe it from your breasts and licked his fingers clean. Setting your nearly empty glass on the chair arm, you turned to face him. “What?” he shrugged.
“Is that your opening position in the negotiations? Marriage?”
“It’s on the list.”
“You have a list?” Jake grinned, poking his tongue in his cheek as he raised an eyebrow.
“Are you tellin’ me that Ms. ‘I Negotiate for a Living’ doesn’t have a list of things ready for our contract negotiations?”
“I have a mental list. That’s what we’re talking about, right?”
“Sure, darlin’.”
“Jake, you don’t have an actual list, do you?”
Jake did have a list. Saved on his phone.
After giving Javy the keys to their rental car and stopping by the base dorms so he could grab enough clothes for the morning, you went to the hotel. He was reluctant to let you drive, but you reminded him that he wasn’t on the rental agreement and told him to enjoy being a passenger princess. The only time he could drive was when you had to go on base - even though you had your CAC card, you didn’t want to tempt fate with your civilian employee ID being rejected for going onto the wrong installation.
“I want this as our tradition,” you said from your spot on the corner of the king-sized bed. Jake set his burger on the hotel desk and wiped at his mouth, cocking an eyebrow as you ate another fry. He’d tied the top half of his flight suit around his waist, and his black t-shirt clung to his chest and arms.
“What? A hotel room?”
“No. I want us to get McDonald's for dinner.” He looked like he was trying not to laugh.
“You want fast food. Not a nice dinner, not a trip - McDonald’s.”
“This is what we had the first night we were together.”
“We can do this until we get married. Then we’re gonna have a nicer tradition.”
“According to you, we’ll only get to do this once more, then. Twice if we do a long engagement.”
“It’s not going to be a long engagement.” You rolled your eyes. Jake wanted to get married this year, but you’d gotten him to agree to get engaged in exchange for keeping his rental house for another two years before looking to buy your own home. He wasn’t sure when orders would come down for him to move since he’d been with the Vigilantes for two years already. He was pretty confident he could move to another squadron on Lemoore when the time came, but he was hesitant to purchase anything when you might have to move shortly after.
“I want to do this for our dating anniversary. We’ll discuss the wedding anniversary when we get to that point.”
“So you want two anniversaries?”
“Is that a problem?”
“Well, future Mrs. Seresin, since you want one that’s cheap, I guess I’m fine with it.”
“Sentimental, not cheap,” you corrected. Your face flushed when he stood and walked closer, plucking the fry container from your hands and placing it on the desk. Leaning over you, he tilted your head back.
“Sentimental it is, Mrs. Seresin.” You flushed under his heated gaze. Jake brushed his lips against your forehead and cheeks as you untied the sleeves of his flight suit and pushed it down his legs. “Love you, darlin’.”
“Love you, too.” Planting one hand on the bed, he slowly lowered you onto the mattress while kicking off his suit. He quickly stripped off his shirt before licking into your mouth. His dog tags rested in the hollow of your throat, and you wrapped your hand around them, using them to pull him closer.
“Wearin’ too many clothes,” he mumbled while working on the buttons of your blouse. Jake grumbled when you pushed against his shoulders until he stood up.
“Sit against the headboard.” He took the initiative to strip off his boxers, his cock flushed and resting on his stomach. Smiling coyly, you finished undoing your buttons and slid the shirt from your shoulders. Your belt and bra hit the floor, and you shimmied off your skirt and panties.
“Put the heels back on,” he said, voice rough with lust. “And get over here.” You did as you were told and crawled across the bed towards him, smiling as Jake’s fingers dug into your waist when you straddled him. “Fuckin’ missed you, darlin’.”
“Is that so, Lieutenant Seresin?” You ran your fingers through his hair and kissed the corner of his mouth. When he turned to chase your lips, you pulled away. Dragging your hand down his chest, you lifted his dog tags and traced his name. “You’re really ready to share your last name again?”
“I’d take you to the courthouse today if you’d let me.”
“I guess Javy can’t be too disappointed in you, since you waited longer than three months this time.”
“Darlin’, don’t talk about other men when you’re naked in my bed.” Smirking, you slid the ball chain over his head. His heated gaze watched as you put on the dog tags, the metal warmed from his skin, falling between your breasts.
“Technically, this is my bed since I rented the room.”
“Pretty sure the vows go ‘what’s yours is mine and what’s mine is yours’.”
“You’re jumping a few steps,” you scolded. “No agreements are binding until we sign the papers and you actually ask me to marry you, so you better behave, Hangman, or we’ll terminate the contract.”
“I’d like to see you try,” he chuckled, running his fingers along your core and smirking to find you already wet. Easing his middle and ring fingers into you, he pulled you down to whisper against your mouth, “Did you miss me?” At your hummed response, he nipped your lower lip. “Words, darlin’.”
“Yes.”
“Couldn’t wait for me to come home and take care of you the way you like, could you?”
“No.” He added a third finger, holding tightly to your hip when you moaned at the stretch. Jake crooked his fingers, using his thumb to circle your clit as you panted against his neck. When you’d adjusted to his thick fingers, you ran your tongue down his throat and nipped his shoulder before closing your lips around the hurt, flattening your tongue against it. He groaned when you dug your nails into his back. Calloused fingers trailed up your spine and wrapped around your hair, drawing you away.
“Careful, darlin’. Can’t have you damaging government property, now.” Your sarcastic retort was lost in a loud ah when he thrust his fingers hard while tugging your hair. Hips moving of their own accord, you leaned back to brace your hands on his thighs as you rode his fingers. He grinned and pulled your breast into his mouth, sucking hard. His tongue flicked over your nipple before his teeth dragged along your skin and tugged. Your fingers carded through his hair, holding him against you as you shuddered and came with a gasp.
Jake fucked you through your orgasm and slowly withdrew his fingers, the wet sound mingling with your heavy breaths, bringing them to your mouth. You opened for him and licked them clean, gagging slightly when he inched them toward the back of your throat, his Academy ring pressed against your stretched lips. “One. Now hold onto the headboard, baby.” Your stomach clenched when he wrapped his hand around your waist and encouraged you onto your knees, thighs shaking with the effort of holding yourself up. Grinning, he shifted down the mattress, his shoulders forcing your legs wider until your knees were beside his head. He’d wanted you to ride his face for a while, but you’d always hesitated. “Please, darlin’,” he said softly, arms wrapping around the back of your thighs.
“You’re sure?”
“So fuckin’ sure.” Biting your lower lip, you nodded. He grinned while pulling you closer, brushing lips to your inner thighs. When you hovered over him, he pulled you down onto his mouth, placing soft kisses against your core. The first pass of his tongue was light and teasing, trying to get you comfortable. His nose bumped your clit, and you inhaled sharply, shying away from his touch. The motion dragged your slit across Jake’s mouth, and he groaned. The vibration made you moan, and your hips rocked. “That’s it, baby,” he encouraged before dipping his tongue into you and sucking kisses up to your clit to run his tongue around it. Your knees slid along the sheets as your thighs struggled to hold you up.
Your grip on the headboard tightened, and you lowered your head, forcing your eyes open. Jake’s eyes were closed, clearly savoring the moment. Turning, you groaned at the sight of his cock, pink and dripping against his stomach, your black stilettos a stark contrast against his sunkissed skin. Reaching back, you dragged your finger through the precum pooling on his skin. His muscles jumped under your touch, and his pupils were blown wide when you turned to face him, sucking on your finger. “I want you in my mouth later.” Jake moaned against your pussy, and you yelped when he dragged you down to his mouth. All softness was gone as he attacked you, using every trick he knew to get you off. When you started to grind against him, he flattened his tongue and let you use him.
Collapsing backward onto the bed, you tried to catch your breath. Jake chuckled, dragging his knuckle along the leg still draped over his chest. When you lifted your head to meet his gaze, he winked, chin glistening with your wetness. “Two. We’re doin’ that again, darlin’.” Rolling your eyes, you moved your leg, lightly tapping his temple with the toe of your stiletto. His gaze followed you as you moved to lie on your stomach, cheek resting on his thigh and feet in the air, ankles crossed.
“That may be an anniversary treat.”
“Nope. Regular rotation.” Shaking your head, you lifted your hand to run your finger along the thick vein on his cock. “Put it in the contract.”
“Nope.”
“C’mon. You enjoyed it.”
“Not saying I didn’t,” you agreed, wrapping your hand around him and squeezing lightly. He grunted, eyes glued to yours as you shifted onto your elbow. “We’re not putting sex in the contract.” When he opened his mouth to reply, you dragged your fist up his length, stopping just under his flared head. “You were saying?” you teased.
“I - ” You closed your mouth over his tip, tongue darting into his slit. “Fuck.” You hummed, twirling your tongue around his head before swallowing him down, fist covering what you couldn’t fit in your mouth. Tilting your head, you looked up at him so he could see the bulge of his dick in your cheek. His hips lifted, hitting the back of your throat. You gagged, tears springing to your eyes. Breathing through your nose, you swallowed around him.
Jake’s moans were so pretty.
With each pass, you took more of him, his hand on your head encouraging you. “So good, baby. Love your mouth. Feel so good,” he babbled. Your hand slipped between his legs to cup his balls, tugging gently. Your whined name and his hand pressing you down was the only warning he gave before his salty taste flooded your mouth. After swallowing and kitten licking his cock clean, you rolled onto your back and pulled off your heels, tossing them onto the floor. “Aw, darlin’, I wanted to fuck you with those on,” Jake whined.
“We’ve got all weekend,” you sighed.
You worked from the hotel on Thursday, periodically interrupted by Jake sending pictures. He’d clearly taken one while flying, and you reminded him exactly how much his plane cost and told him that he needed to be more careful. Later that night, he demonstrated just how careful and detail-oriented he was as he made you come four times.
The next morning, you presented him with the updated contract for his signature. After he signed, he’d written one more clause under your signatures. You reminded him that adding anything after signing wasn’t binding. He initialed both copies and made sure to show you just how little he cared when your cheek was pressed against the cold shower tiles as he fucked you from behind before leaving for work.
When you’d mentioned wanting to visit the USS Midway on your day off and offered to wait for him, Jake just shook his head and told you to enjoy - he saw enough of carriers during his deployments. So you spent the morning exploring the ship and surrounding statues, and sending him and your parents pictures. After grabbing a late lunch, you browsed the art galleries and stores in Seaport Village before heading back to the hotel for a nap.
On Saturday, you let Jake and Javy sleep in before dragging them to the zoo. As the day wore on, you saw the tension ease from their shoulders. By the time you left and they agreed to take advantage of the convertible to cruise down to the beach, both were singing along to Taylor Swift with you.
That night at The Hard Deck, you and Jake won a game of pool against Javy and another pilot named Payback. You met some of the other pilots on the special detachment - Jake made sure that you stayed away from Yale - including the infamous Bradshaw. As much as you wanted to give the pilot who cause Jake’s hangup with his callsign a piece of your mind, you held back. After all, that mustache and call sign - Rooster - were punishment enough.
Around midnight, you and Jake left the bar and went down to the beach. Walking along the shore, you held hands and enjoyed the lap of the waves washing over your feet. You didn’t go too far, knowing that you needed to leave soon so you could get some rest before going to the airport. But as you walked back up towards the bar to say goodnight to everyone, Jake pulled you to a stop when he heard the song playing. Tugging you into his arms, he slid his hands into the back pockets of your jeans and swayed with you as the Beach Boys crooned ‘Don’t Worry Baby’.
That night, Jake took his time to kiss every inch of your skin as you undressed. His fingers drifted over your curves as though to memorize them. And when he finally slid into you, he made sure you knew exactly how much he loved you.
You were reminded just how dangerous Jake’s job was on Tuesday. You were in a meeting when your phone chimed with his text.
Everyone’s okay. Will tell you more tonight.
He didn’t answer your call or text asking for clarification, and neither did Javy, but an hour later, there was a news blast saying there was a training accident and an F-18 had crashed into the desert. It was well after 8:00PM when Jake called. You could hear the fear in his voice when he told you about how three people almost burned in - how he’d almost lost his best friend and could do nothing but stand by the radio in the Ready Room and listen, praying that he snapped out of the G-LOC in time.
You stayed with him on the phone until he said he needed to shower. You whispered your love, promising to see one another soon.
As soon as you disconnected, you called Javy to check on him. He assured you he was okay, just had a headache. You made him promise to be careful and go get checked out if it got worse.
When you pulled out your laptop to check your email Wednesday morning, there was a notice for a requisition of a new F-18 for the Black Aces squadron.
Being underway meant had limited contact with Jake. He had access to his official military email address, so he sent you periodic messages, but calls were limited. He managed a video call once to let you know that he was on his way back. As happy as you were to see his face, a new weariness in his eyes made you wonder what had happened. He tried to assure you it was just because of how shitty he slept on the carrier.
When the six F-18s landed back on Lemoore, you ensured you were on the flight line to greet Jake and Javy. Both men looked tired but happy and quickly did their post-flight checks. You were able to drive them home but had to go back into the office after.
After work, you stopped to pick up dinner before heading to Jake’s house. When you walked inside, he was asleep in bed. Once you’d changed into your pajamas, you slid between the sheets.
Jake opened one eye and gave you a sleepy smile before moving closer, curling up on your chest. You ran your fingers through his hair until he fell back asleep, reveling in his weight pressing you into the mattress and knowing he was safe in your arms.

Author's Note: I decided to give Harvard a break and make Yale the one who hit on Darlin'. I didn't want to spend too much time with them at TOPGUN since Jake would be focused on the mission, but they couldn't spend their anniversary apart! The contract had to be renegotiated!
Thanks for the patience with this chapter. I ended up scrapping what I'd written and restarting. Hopefully you liked the abbreviated holidays and meet the parents.
To the anon who asked if I'll be posting this to Ao3, I've decided that I will. Not sure if I'll get to it this weekend, but it'll be posted under my new pseud - TrickPhotography2
ALSO - @mayhemmanaged made these gorgeous Instagram posts of Darlin' and Jake that you should look at and love as much as I do.
Thank you for reading ❤️

Unknown (matty healy x reader)*
WARNINGS: THIS IS SMUT, IF I FIND OUT A MINOR READS THIS IM TELLING UR PARENTS
a/n: this is a part 2 to all things end, this one is based off of the song unknown by hozier. listen to it, it's such a good song
You spent months living your life before you let yourself think about him again. You were invited to a dinner party at the Hann’s, it would’ve been weird if he wasn’t invited. You were thinking of it as something of a preemptive strike against yourself–finally thinking through and addressing your relationship with Matty.
It’d been easy so far, he’d been away on tour so things in your flat were like they always were, apart from the day after you knew they’d all gotten back when George showed up to your flat, asking for some of his things. You let him take most of Matty’s things, from a list you saw he was reading off of from a text on his phone–a guitar he particularly loved, some of his clothes he didn’t pack for tour, and his stack of full notebooks he’d compiled over the years. He let you keep all the records housed in a floor-to-ceiling shelf in your living room. You knew there were some especially rare ones in the collection, ones you knew he tracked down after years and years of looking.
You decided the best way to really digest everything you’d hid away in a locked-up cupboard in your mind was to write a letter. You didn’t go into it thinking you’d ever give it to him, but you just wanted to write down all the things you wish you could say to him, so you could start again with a clean slate of sorts.
Dear Matty,
To start out this letter, I should tell you that, even now, I think I’ll always love you. Of course you knew this from our last proper conversation, but it’s still true now over 2 months later. We did so much together, you’ll always have a piece of my heart, and I hope mine your’s.
I try not to think about you when I see the ashtray I made for you during that week of quarantine when I got really into pottery. It still sits at its home on the window sill of the bathroom. I try not to turn my head too quickly when I’m out in public and I hear a Northern man speaking behind me. I don’t think I can ever watch True Romance again without thinking about my favourite song, I don’t think I could listen to Fugazi again without thinking of that goddamn t-shirt you wore until it was covered in holes.
I never said it enough, but I’m still so proud of you. For everything. You are a true image of dreams being accomplished, you’re basically a legend in the making. I know you never liked me inflating your ego too much, but I hope you’ll take this compliment at least this once.
This could be misconstrued as a little selfish, but I hope you’re hurting as much as I have been. I hope you struggle to think of me, I hope you reminisce on the good times and dwell on the tough times. I don’t know where you’re staying at the moment, I’m still getting all your mail so you mightn’t have gotten a new place yet, so you’re probably staying with George or someone, but I hope there’s things that remind you of me. Like those cufflinks I bought you for the first of your birthdays we spent together or when you see a movie on Netflix you know I love.
I hope that when we see each other again, there’s not a shred of any contempt in my heart. We don’t have to be friends, but it would kill me if we couldn’t even speak.
Love From Me
As you folded it and slid it into an envelope you felt so much lighter. And with it placed at the bottom of the drawer of your nightstand, you felt like you could breathe freely–for the first time in months.
Now you just had to face him. A task easier said than done, even with your previous exercise, it was a bandaid that made the pain bearable.
The evening of the dinner, you made sure to look your best. Not for Matty, no. You needed to show everyone else that you were fine–you were sure Matty had told them all about what happened, and the only one of his bandmates you’d spoken to was George. It was a shock when you got the text from Carly asking if you were free, you thought the end of your relationship with Matty would mean the end of your friendship with the people around him. Not to say you weren’t pleasantly surprised, just a little bit caught off guard.
You did a quick once-over before you headed out the door, and in the least self-conceited way, you’d never looked hotter. Your makeup was perfect, your hair had that fluffy, 90s supermodel look, and you were wearing a dress that fit you like a glove, in a colour that was the perfect compliment to your glowing skin.
On the drive there you were trying to psych yourself up. It wasn’t a big deal…You could do this. Even as you were walking towards the front door and you could hear laughs inside, you kept telling yourself you would be okay…even if you didn’t believe it all that much.
Only about a second after you pressed the doorbell, you were greeted with the sight of the one, the only Jamie Squire.
“How are you, kid?” He asked excitedly, giving you a friendly hug.
“Oh…You know,” you answered. Because he most certainly did know. You held up the mid-priced bottle of red wine you brought. “Where should this go?”
“Oh Carly’s in the kitchen,” he said.
You were glad to see Carly alone in the kitchen, checking on whatever meal was in the oven. She was just as dolled up as you–you were glad you wouldn’t stick out like a sore thumb.
“Carls!” You called to her as you entered the kitchen.
She excitedly turned and gave you a hug, and gave you a compliment on your makeup. You were always grateful for the friendship between The 1975’s WAGs, past and present.
“So where’s the little rockstar?” You asked, you always loved spending time with Baby Hann, as one of his godparents you’d spent many days playing along with any game he could come up with–which were becoming more and more inventive as he got older.
“He’s at Ad’s parents’,” she answered, you frowned. “Hey, we need a night off every so often!”
“I know…I know…” You joked as you poured a glass from the bottle you brought. “Well then where’s your lovely husband? Need to tell him he should help out his wife.”
“He’s in the living room with everyone else…” She got quiet at the end of her sentence.
“Hey,” you said in a serious tone. “It’s okay, I can be around him.”
“You’re sure?”
“I think.” You laughed.
“If you say so…” She went back to preparing some kind of sauce on the stovetop, leaving you to wade into the unknown.
You followed the noise of laughter and talking. You were greeted with the sight of George standing in front of everyone else, telling some insane story of his–and the band’s–youth. He trailed off mid-sentence when you entered, and his audience all whipped their heads around to look at the interruption.
Immediately everyone stood, each taking turns to greet you with a polite hug. Last was Matty, he hung back as everyone else said hello. You were so distracted you didn’t notice him at first, but when you did, it was clear how he’d been doing. His hair was longer than before, but not in a way that seemed like he was trying to grow it out, he had a light sprinkle of stubble, and the suit he wore–a staple for him recently–was wrinkled and it looked just a little too big on him.
You politely gave him a kiss on the cheek. You were engulfed in the scent of his cologne, a scent you didn’t realise you missed so dearly.
“How are you, love?” He asked. Love. Sometimes things don’t change, you thought.
“I’m alright,” you said with a bright facade. “Busy with work.”
“Good! Me too,” he answered.
Soon you were whisked away by whomever wanted to talk to you next, not even given an opportunity to say goodbye.
And that was how it went for most of the evening, you’d somehow end up standing next to each other, and someone would intervene. You couldn’t blame your friends, they just wanted to minimise the tension, but there was nothing that could be done about your heart shattering more and more every time you got a look at him.
It got later into the night, and soon the group began to get thinner and thinner. At just a few stragglers left, you saw Matty in the back garden, smoking a cigarette and scrolling through his phone. It was time.
Maybe it was the bottle of wine giving you the courage, but you knew you couldn’t end the night without a proper conversation with Matty, it would be just plain rude not to.
He didn’t react at hearing the clunk of your heels on the wooden deck he was sitting on, only when you sat down right next to him. All he did was offer you a drag of his cigarette which you took, like old times.
“I’m glad you came,” he said after you handed the ciggie back to him. “Here, I mean.”
“Me too…” You answered. “Was a fun night.”
“Did you see how pissed Charli was?” He smiled. “G had to carry her to the car.”
“Doesn’t surprise me,” you laughed. “So…uh…where are you staying at the moment?”
“I’ve been bouncing around…” He answered. “Here for tonight.”
You nodded. He seemed quite content to keep scrolling on his phone in silence, but you didn’t want to quit.
“Do you think we could be friends?” You asked. “One day, I mean…eventually.”
Matty looked at you–properly–for the first time since you sat down. “I hope so. Just…”
“What?”
“I need to get over some stuff before that,” he said, nonchalantly, stubbing out his cigarette on the wood of the deck. “Like…I don’t think I’ll ever love someone the way I love you. Like ever.”
Your heart sank at the admission. Everything you’d done to prepare yourself to face him calmly suddenly went out the window.
“Then what are we doing?”
He looked confused by your question.
“Why are we both miserable and just not doing anything about it? Why did we decide to split up if this was how it would end up?”
You were admittedly a bit drunker than you realised at first, you’d never have as much courage to talk to him about all this if you were completely sober.
“Because…” He started. “We run our course.”
“Who says?” You could feel something–Anger? Passion?–bubbling up. “Why should we suffer doing something that neither of us really want? Why were we so rash with all this?”
That last question was more to yourself, why did you give up so easily? You could see Matty’s eyes had a slight gloss to them, yours matched them.
“I don’t know.” Was all he said. And it was enough to solidify your decision of what you were about to do.
You began to lean forward, strong eye contact between the two of you. Matty met you in the middle and before you knew it you were engulfed in the warmth of his kiss, now letting the tears flow freely. It was some kind of cathartic release, all pent up over the last few months.
You didn’t break away until you were in desperate need of air. You both caught your breaths, just staring at each other. Eventually Matty let out a small chuckle.
“What?” You asked, confused but matching his grin.
“Was just thinking…” He started. “I’m supposed to stay here tonight…And I don’t know how I’m gonna sneak out to spend the night with you.”
You laughed. “Well that’s very presumptuous of you.”
“Well I know my audience…” He quipped. It was true, he knew the kind of person you were, as evident when you brought him back to your flat after your first proper date and silently begged him not to judge you–which he didn’t.
You both sat in silence for a little while, a comfortable silence. You didn’t want to go back inside, you felt safe in just Matty’s presence. But you were thinking, how would you explain this to everyone? Simple, you didn’t have to. As much as you loved the band and everyone that came along with them–your family–you did like being alone some of the time. And you thought it best to be alone right now.
“Well I’m going home,” you said, standing up.
“What do I do?” He asked.
“I don’t know! Come up with some excuse! Like you need another pack of fags or something!”
“Carly doesn’t like me smoking here! I had to sneak that one!” He pointed to the butt that was sitting crumbled on the deck next to him.
You sighed. “Just come up with something?”
He laughed. “I’ll try…”
You bid a farewell to the last of the group, and thanked the wonderful couple for hosting. As you turned the ignition of your car, a sense of excitement ran through you. You felt like a teenager again, sneaking around with a boy that made you giddy.
When you got back to your flat, you hurriedly tidied as best you could; making your bed, drying and putting away the dishes you’d left on the sink. When you finally had the time to get a look at yourself in the mirror and saw the sight before you, you quickly refreshed your makeup, fixing your smudged lipstick and creased concealer.
And then you waited on your sofa, after you poured yourself a glass of wine to keep your fearlessness going. Time ticked by ever so slowly. You must’ve checked your phone about two hundred times over the course of about 50 minutes. Eventually you heard a series of rapid knocks at your door, it could only be him. As soon as you opened the door his lips were on yours, feverish and rough.
“What took so long?” You asked in between kisses.
“Had to wait for everyone to leave…” Another kiss. “And then for Hann and Carly to go to bed.”
You just smiled. You had the adrenaline of a horny teenager.
In a flurry of clothes being stripped off between biting, hot kisses, you made your way to your bedroom. A task that was easy for Matty, purely for muscle memory.
There was no need to warm up to it. You straddled Matty and engulfed him in another kiss that almost made you melt.
“You want me to wear a condom?” He asked in a string of breaths, trying not to focus on the heat radiating from you on his thighs.
“I know I’m still clean, are you?”
“Of course.” Was his way of saying there’d been nobody else, An admission that made you beam.
You took gentle hold of his cock, running your thumb over the tip and eliciting a moan from him. And even more as you slowly lowered down on him. It felt comfortable, like home.
As you began to bounce, keeping firm eye contact with Matty, you could feel a bubble start to form in your abdomen.
You felt your spine turn to jelly when Matty placed two firm fingers on your clit, massaging it in a familiar pattern that you hadn’t felt in months. You were rapidly approaching the edge.
“Ma–Baby…” You began to get out. “Al-almost there…”
“Do you want me on top?” He asked, you nodded.
In a flash, Matty readjusted you so you were laying on top of the mattress, lifting your hips up just a little so he could hit that spot, over and over and over again.
You were biting your lip to stop from letting out the most guttural moan, you just about drew blood. But you just couldn’t hold it in any longer.
Once Matty had hit your g-spot one last time, you just unravelled underneath him. He kept thrusting as you ran out your high, but it wasn’t long before he was emptying into you and collapsing next to you.
In a hazy silence, you both were laid on your bed–yours and his–catching your breaths. After a few minutes of recovery, you sat up a little to look at Matty. He was staring at the ceiling with the biggest smile you’d ever seen on him.
“You alright there?” You asked, with a smile of your own.
“Yeah just…” He took a second to gather his thoughts. “Just really, really happy.”
“Me too.”
The rest of your evening–in a word–was still. You were sat in bed, now under the covers with legs intertwined, just talking. Talking about anything, everything, what you missed out on each other’s lives in the past couple months.
But there was one thing you wanted to tell him–needed to tell him. It was whispering at you from the drawer of your nightstand.
“I have something for you,” you said.
“Oh?” Matty asked with a smile as turned away from him to retrieve the envelope. “Is it a good something or a bad something?”
“Good, I think.” You handed him the envelope that had ‘to Matty’ scrawled on the front. “I wrote it a couple days ago, I just wanted to get all my feelings out.”
As he opened the envelope and quickly scanned the paper within, he got the memo. “A letter for me?”
“You don’t have to read it, or if you want to I can leave the room if that makes it easier…”
“No, you don’t have to…” He said with urgency. “Just sit with me?”
You nodded and shimmied closer to him as he read. It took a couple minutes, after he was done, he folded it back up and placed it on the nightstand on his side of the bed. You finally looked at him, he had tears in his eyes.
“I…” He said shakily. “I love you so much. And I’m never letting you go again.”

Per Eriksson Live Summary - 08/30/24
Orders are being shipped out now for Black River Kult.
He says he's made of fire. (He touched a candle flame for a second)
He will never get a face tattoo.
He joked about cutting his hair off on stream.
His band tip is play fast and precise.
Sodomizer is not a stage name - it's a joke gone too far. He says no one calls him that. Don't call him that either.
He says he looks so good because he sold his soul to satan, bathes in virgin blood, smokes a lot of weed and drinks sparkling water.
He got left at a gas station in Seattle once on tour.
He bought a mint condition King Diamond 1988 fanclub shirt for $500. It's the most expensive clothing he owns.
He wears a size small t-shirt.
Someone asked if he can play bass guitar and he said he couldn't. (Liar)
Zero the dog is in fact named after Zero from Nightmare Before Christmas.
He prefers zipper hoodies. He also likes high socks that go up to his knees. He really wants to make a full tracksuit for Black River Kult.
His middle name is Anders. So his full name is Per Anders Eriksson.
He was asked again what he thinks of LGBTQ community. He said "You can be and do what you want as long as you don't hurt other people."
He doesn't like My Chemical Romance lmao
There's too many Tool songs he likes, but Stinkfist was one of the first he loved.
He'd rather shoot himself repeatedly in the face with a shotgun than join Twitter. He hopes it gets shut down.
He apparently got his ears pierced at home. He said "we used to pierce each other" - okay Per 😩 His ear "bled a lot" Yeah, I'm sure it did. 😩😩😩
He doesn't wear gold because that's "the color the Christians use."
There's someone in the chat who kept spamming weird comments and asked him about Character AI. I don't know what the comment was because I had blocked them.
He said the venue (Harpos) in Flint Michigan was terrifying. He had to have a body guard escort him to go buy cigarettes across the street.
He didn't know what it was. He thought it was creepy when people described it to him. Most people were warning him about it.
The same individual spamming odd comments for attention rejoined under multiple accounts and kept spamming the chat. I blocked every single one.
He supports BDSM 😭
He's not on speaking terms with Anders from Katatonia. He also said Bloodbath used to be good.
(I missed things here and there because the live was very long and I took short breaks in between)

TRACK SIXTEEN;
I WANT SOME MORE
***
The press conference was the next day, and Y/N didn't want to attend; she knew no questions would be directed towards her or any of the band other than Daisy or Billy. Y/N was sat in between Warren and Eddie. She wanted to speak to Eddie, but with how hectic the evening and day were going, she had yet to have a chance.
"Billy!"
"Daisy!"
"Billy!"
The press shouted two names and two names only; Y/N folded her arms and sat back in her chair, wanting this to be over. Warren was just barely staying awake next to her.
"Who makes that coat, Daisy?" One journalist asked.
"I don't know." Daisy says.
"And your shoes?" The journalist continued, and Y/N rolled her eyes.
"Why are you asking me about my clothes, man, I mean, why don't you ask Billy about that dumb-looking shirt he has on?" Daisy says.
"'More fun to miss than to be with'," Another journalist spoke, "Whose that about?"
"Ah, come on, man," Billy says, "They're just songs."
"Is that true Daisy?"
"No song is ever just a song." Daisy answered.
"You guys gonna ask us any questions?" Eddie asks.
"What's going on with you two?" A journalist pipes up.
"Who, Eddie and me?" Billy jokes.
"No, Eddie and Y/N," The journalist says, "Because that performance last night was really something."
Everyone at the table turned to look at the two with expecting eyes. Eddie's mouth opened and closed, trying to think of a response to being put on the spot.
"It was just a performance," Y/N says, "I hadn't sand on my own before in front of such a large crowd and he was simply reassuring me, it's what friends do."
As the journalists began to ask questions, only focussing on Billy and Daisy, Y/N felt someone squeeze her hand from underneath the table. Turning, she looked at Eddie, who looked at her with a smile; Y/N smiled back and squeezed his hand in return.
When Rod ended the press conference early, Y/N was up on her feet and out of the conference room as quick as she could. She could still feel Eddie's hand in hers despite letting go a long time ago. Y/N lingered outside the room for Eddie to come out, hoping to finally talk to him.
As he stepped out, he made eye contact with Y/N; Eddie began to slowly walk over. Y/N fiddled with the end of her jacket as he strode over. Each step felt like it was taking hours.
When Eddie finally stood in front of her, Y/N opened her mouth.
"Someone find Daisy and Billy," Rod shouted at all the band members, interrupting Y/N, "We have sound check in fifteen minutes."
Y/N sighed. She was never going to get a chance for that conversation.
Y/N L/N: Every time I wanted to have that conversation, something was happening to interrupt that. First, it was a soundcheck, then the show, and then the party after the show. I just wanted to get it over and done with.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: Every lie I told Y/N ate me up inside; I just wanted to get everything off my chest. But I thought I fucked everything up too much.

Staring into the mirror in her room, Y/N debated going upstairs to join the party. She wasn't in the mood to take drugs or drink; she only wanted to lie down and sleep. But she had bought a new dress and wanted an excuse to wear it. Sighing again, Y/N gave herself a final look in the mirror and walked out of her room and up to the party.
One other reason why Y/N didn't want to attend was Camila. Y/N loved Camila dearly, but after their goodbye before the tour, the two hadn't spoken; there wasn't one phone call. Since Camila had met up with the band on tour the previous day, Eddie had tried his best to avoid Y/N, instead trying his best to talk to Camila. Y/N was hurt by this. Finally, they were beginning to get back onto the same page until now.
Y/N immediately grabbed a glass of wine as she stepped into the party. The party wasn't as large as their usual ones; it was more intimate, which Y/N hated, especially as there was more chance of her running into Camila or Eddie.
Across the party, Camila danced with Karen, utterly oblivious to Y/N's arrival.
"I'm just gonna get some air, I'll be a second." Camila says to Karen.
Camila steps out onto the balcony, letting the air hit her face. Eddie stood at the other end of the balcony. As Camila took a sip of her drink and turned, her eyes landed on Eddie.
"Hey." Eddie greeted.
"Hi." Camila says as an awkward silence falls upon them. Camila looks out at the night sky, anticipating the conversation.
"So, can we, uh…Could we- could we talk about it?" Eddie questions, "Please?"
"We don't have to talk about it." Camila says.
"Well, it's…I would feel better, you know." Eddie says.
"Eddie, it's-"
"I'm sorry, Camila." Eddie interrupts, "I'm really sorry."
Camila sighs, "Eddie, it's okay."
"No, no it's not," Eddie says, "I was trying to be there for you, and all I could think about was-"
"You were there for me," Camila interrupts, "You're always there for me."
"But-"
"Eddie, listen to me," Camila says softly, "You were there for me that night, we both made mistakes, we both needed a distraction and that's okay. You don't need to beat yourself up over it."
Eddie sighed, leaned against the railing, and sipped his drink, "I'm sorry."
"It's not me you should be apologising to," Camila says, "We both owe Y/N an apology."
Eddie closes his eyes, "I-I don't know how, I've fucked everything up too much."
"Tell her the truth, Eddie," Camila says, "I can tell how much you love her."
Eddie sniffed, trying to hold back his tears; he shook his head, "I fucked everything up with her, she won't want anything to do with me."
Camila placed her hand on Eddie's back, "She still loves you Eddie, I can tell. She's loved you for years now."
Eddie nodded before turning to Camila and hugging her, "Thank you, and I'm sorry."
Camila hugged him back, "Stop apologising to me, you don't need to." Eddie nodded and pulled away.
Camila reached up and wiped his tear away, "You'll be okay, Eddie."
With that, Camila left the balcony and stepped back into the party.
From across the room, Y/N saw Camila leave the balcony. Once her eyes landed on Y/N, Camila froze. Y/N's eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she began to walk closer. Y/N saw Camila sigh before she walked up to Y/N.
"Camila, I love you but tell me what the fuck is going on." Y/N demanded.
"I will talk to you Y/N but I think you need to talk to Eddie first," Camila says, taking Y/N's hands in hers, "I promise I will explain everything but you need to speak to Eddie before me, okay?"
"Okay," Y/N says, furrowing her eyebrows, "Where is he?"
"On the balcony," Camila says, "But Y/N, you have to hear him out, okay?"
Camila gave Y/N's hands a squeeze before walking away, leaving her standing there alone. Y/N focused on the balcony doors. Continuing the small distance from where she was standing, Y/N pushed open the door to the balcony and stepped out into the cold midnight air. Her heart was beating a mile a minute.
Looking around on the balcony, Y/N saw a figure facing out, staring at the lights in the distance. Y/N's heart sank; she had wanted this conversation, but now that it was happening, she didn't know how to approach it.
"What's going on Eddie?" Y/N questioned, speaking up. The noise from inside seemed miles away, the chatter from people talking barely audible.
Turning around, Eddie looked at Y/N, surprised to see her there. "What are you doing out here, Y/N?" Eddie questioned.
"Answer my question, Eddie," Y/N demands, "Why did Camila just leave here in a hurry? She told me to come and speak to you."
Eddie sighed, "I don't know."
Eddie didn't know how to approach this conversation, and all he wanted was to jump from the balcony and run for the hills.
Y/N stepped closer; she knew he was lying. Over the last month, she had an inkling as to what happened between the two; she just hoped that her hunch was correct or she would feel stupid.
"You sure as hell know," Y/N says, her voice low, "What's going on with you and Camila?"
"Y/N please just go back to the party." Eddie begged.
Y/N folded her arms across her chest, stepping further onto the balcony, "I'm not until you tell me what's going on."
Eddie remained silent.
"I know I told you that we shouldn't be friends, I know that, but I regret it, I miss you so much it pains me. Then after the photoshoot you just start to avoid me and act like I don't even exist," Y/N explains, "Camila has been acting strange with me as well. Before we left for the tour, she made every excuse not to meet up for dinner or go for a couple of drinks, every phone call she finds a way to end it quickly. She's avoiding me as much as you."
"I don't know anything about that." Eddie says, avoiding eye contact.
"Another lie. I really thought that after that performance we did together, we could sort things out, I really did, but as soon as Camila arrived you're acting completely different again, you're avoiding me," Y/N says, stepping closer to Eddie so their chests were nearly pressed together, "Do you really think I'm that fucking stupid, Eddie?"
"What?"
"You really think that I'm stupid enough to not figure out what is going on with you," Y/N says, "And Camila for that matter."
"Oh yeah?" Eddie challenged, "Then what's going on, Y/N? Tell me."
"You slept with Camila." Y/N says, and Eddie doesn't respond, "That silence is enough of an answer.
Y/N turned to leave the balcony, afraid that if she stayed any longer, she would say something she would regret. However, Eddie had other plans as he gripped her elbow. Electric shocks ran up her arm.
"I didn't sleep with Camila," Eddie says finally, "I kissed her, that was all that happened, Y/N. I can promise you that."
"How am I meant to believe you, Eddie?" Y/N questions, "All you've done to me this past year is lie to me."
"And you haven't done the same?" Eddie questioned, "That night when you said that the night we spent together meant nothing to you, you lied then."
"And so did you," Y/N says, her voice barely above a whisper, "But that's long in the past now."
"Is it?" Eddie questions.
Y/N remained silent. The question hung in the air. Of course, it wasn't in the past; that night continued to replay in Y/N's mind every night when she went to sleep. She could still feel his touch on her skin and his lips on hers. Everything about Eddie was intoxicating.
"Y/N," Eddie says, leaning forward, resting his forehead on hers, "I can't keep pretending that I'm not in love with you."
A gasp was stuck in Y/N's throat. She closed her eyes to prevent the tears.
"That night only happened with Camila because I was confused," Eddie explains, "I was confused about you. I fell in love with you long ago; it just took me a long time to realise it. I thought that I was still in love with Camila, but that night, if it was anything to go off, proves that I'm not anymore. I think I just needed a distraction; you told me not to speak to you again," Eddie paused momentarily.
"That night didn't go any further than a kiss," Eddie said, "Now I'm not lying when I say that it nearly did but as soon as I closed my eyes when she began to kiss my neck I called out your name. I imagined she was you…I wished she was you."
It was silent; even the noise from the party seemed to have disappeared completely. The confession hung out in the open.
"I love you, Y/N," Eddie continues, "More than I've ever loved anyone."
Y/N slowly raised her hand and gripped Eddie's jacket's front, pulling him closer to her.
"Please say something." Eddie whispers.
Y/N opened her eyes and looked up at Eddie. Like Y/N, tears brimmed his eyes. Y/N bit her lip as the tears finally escaped and cascaded down her cheeks. After so long, the words she wanted to hear from Eddie were finally said.
"I'm in love with you, too," Y/N says. All the weight crushing Y/N was lifted; she felt like she could float.
Wasting no time, Eddie's hands cupped Y/N's face and pressed his lips against hers. The kiss was gentle and full of tenderness and adoration. Eddie gently pushed Y/N back so her back made contact with the wall. Eddie smiled into the kiss as Y/N reached up and wrapped her arms around his neck.
Eddie pulled away to admire Y/N. He admired everything about her. From her eyes and the way, they would crinkle when she smiled. Her nose and the way she would scrunch it up when she found something funny. Her lips, which for the most part, were opened in a bright smile. It wasn't just Y/N's physical features he admired either. Her resilience and ambition were something he had always loved about her. The way she wouldn't take any shit from anyone. Her kindness. Her strength. Everything about Y/N, Eddie loved and admired. He adored her.
"What?" Y/N asked with a smile.
"Nothing." Eddie says, smiling.
"Liar." Y/N whispered.
Eddie pressed a series of kisses to Y/N's lips, her cheeks, the tip of her nose and her forehead before ending back at her lips, pecking them once, twice, then three times before pulling away. He couldn't get enough of her.
"You're beautiful." Eddie says, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.
Y/N smiled before wrapping her arms around Eddie's neck, pulling him into a hug, and burying her head into his shoulder. Eddie wrapped one arm around her waist, and the other gently held the back of her head. Y/N felt entirely at ease for the first time in a while, wrapped up in Eddie's arms.
Y/N kissed Eddie's neck across his jawline before connecting their lips again.
"I love you so much." Y/N says, tears still falling down her face in perfect droplets.
"Why are you crying?" Eddie chuckled, wiping the tears away.
"I'm just happy." Y/N says, pressing her lips to Eddie's.
"Do you want to go back inside?" Eddie asked his voice low.
"No," Y/N answered, "Let's stay out here for a little while longer."
The two continued to stay on the balcony, arms wrapped around each other with no intention of letting go. Stolen kisses are shared with one another and whispered sweet nothings into the other's ear. This picture-perfect scenario was only interrupted once Y/N shivered. Not hesitating for a second, Eddie shrugged his jacket off and wrapped it around Y/N's shoulders.
"As much as I don't want to cover up this dress, you're freezing." Eddie says, rubbing his hands up and down her arms.
Eddie wrapped an arm around Y/N's waist and pulled her into his side while he opened the balcony door. Most of, if not all, the people who were present at the party had disappeared; it just left the band with the extension of Nicky and Camila.
As the two walked in together and sat on the couch, Warren looked over at Y/N, a smirk on his face. Y/N gave him a look that told him not to say anything before she leaned into Eddie's side. Y/N looked up at Eddie and pressed a short kiss to his jaw, not caring who saw. Y/N couldn't be happier than she was at that moment, and neither could Eddie.

Afterglow
Tumblr media
where you and Harry broke up, but the feelings didn't go away.
warnings: none just total angst.
word count: 714
if you have any requests i’m always open!
You was never ready for him to leave. You have been in a relationship for over five years. Being without Harry was as hard as quitting smoking for someone who had been smoking since their teenage years. It was hard to wake up in the morning and not feel the warmth of his body nearby; the pillow next to you was always cold, and the shelf where his things lay was empty.
Everything in your apartment reminded you of Harry, as if you had lived here all your life. There is a vase in the kitchen that you bought at the first fair. There is a picture from your first date hanging in the bedroom. On the bathroom shelf is his shaving cream. Hanging in the hallway is a garland he brought from Japan because it reminded him of you.
Part of you wanted to put all those things away so you could move on. Another part of you screamed that these were memories that couldn't just be taken and thrown away.
Sometimes you pulled out of the closet the only thing that reminded you of the existence of Harry in your life. The blue shirt he once gave you. It still smelled of his cologne, and despite the fact that it had been in the closet for more than a month, this did not stop you from inhaling Harry's slight scent.
“Can I really take it?” you asked, looking at the shirt in Harry's hand.
“Sure, darling” he smiled and flipping his shirt aside, pulled you to him by the waist. “Did I mention that you have a cute smile?” he asked thoughtfully, looking at your face carefully.
“Seems to have happened once” you said seriously enough, touching his lips with yours.
“Then I will remind you of this more often”
You saw Harry a lot more than he saw you. You may have looked like a stalker, but Harry was famous. It was impossible to go to YouTube and not see the tab with his video. You loved to watch his new interviews before going to bed, realizing that while he was happy, you were also happy.
It was painful to understand that he was moving on, unlike you.
He was smiling as wide as before, his eyes were shining and he was excited about what awaits his fans on the new tour.
His life has not really ended, but only begun.
As you begin to let him go, it makes you think about him and who he really where. Your mind wants to think about all the good parts - the parts that you’ll miss the most. You think of the parts of you that made you feel so happy. You focus on that so much you forget why are you letting him go. You forget the things you need to remember.
You really missed him. You just didn’t know that he also missed you. As much as you did.
His house, like your apartment, smelled of you. Every thing reminded him of you and that you were here once. In the kitchen you cooked pancakes, in the bedroom you watched movies and discussed your future together. In the garden, you ran after each other like little children, and in his car in the back seat you often kissed, forgetting everything.
He remembered everything just as you did.
But he didn't try to forget - he tried to keep every memory. Harry tried not to forget the smallest details. How does your hair smell? Do you have freckles on your face? Do you wrinkle your nose in the sun? What does your voice sound like when you're embarrassed?
He wanted to call you so many times and tell you that he is waiting for you every day. So many times he wanted to come himself and say that he could not live without you, but all the time he was stopped by the fear of being rejected.
He was afraid just like you.
You both knew from mutual friends that you were both single. But you were just as afraid to hear the opposite. Because then it will mean that you are definitely late.
But maybe one day you’ll meet again when you’re different people. Maybe then you’ll be better for each other.

the leatherworker - wonho/hoseok lee
rating: e (18+) reader: f summary: that’s where you came in, you were the one that the companies went to when they wanted leather goods for their idols to wear. your studio was a level higher and next door to a fabric shop but you got your leather from sellers on the other side of the city. your work felt like a painting, or a puzzle. you admired the work on the leather but figuring out how to please everyone was a mind twisting puzzle.  tags: unrequited feelings, smut, angst, table sex, studio sex, riding a/n: would wonho be an american rabbit (the white ones) or an english lop (the floppy eared ones)?
Tumblr media
you hated these meetings, you really did. watching the big wigs of the design department for the company you partnered with to decide what was going to look good on stage. upcoming tours were a big commotion.
that’s where you came in, you were the one that the companies went to when they wanted leather goods for their idols to wear. your studio was a level higher and next door to a fabric shop but you got your leather from sellers on the other side of the city. your work felt like a painting, or a puzzle. you admired the work on the leather but figuring out how to please everyone was a mind twisting puzzle.
but you had a favourite client. since going solo wonho or hoseok lee found a liking to your craftsmanship. he felt like he owed you for sitting through all these meetings. he could read on your face that you’d much rather be at your studio cutting, sewing, measuring and crafting. your worn hands were made for the creation of goods, not hastily writing down notes as it felt like everyone was talking at the same time.
“ma’am, what time is a good time for wonho to come by for measurements.”
you perked up, attention on you, “oh well. i was going to say that i could use the measurements from last time, but someone had to bulk up even more.” you pointed your pen at the man across the table.
there was laughter, hoseok smiled, he crossed his arms and his smiled remained, “well, maybe i just like making your job harder.”
you broke out into a grin. after almost two years of working together, you could get away with jokes like that. he had spent enough of his off time at your studio to be able to crack a few jokes.
“so are we looking at a complete set of a harness that goes across the chest, around the arms and then highlighting his thighs? just so i know what i’m working with. it would be a pain to buy too little of the leather.” you remarked then tapped your pen against your painted lips. you weren’t the biggest lipstick user but you couldn’t come into this meeting without looking polished like a gem.
“if it’s not enough, i could always drive you.” he remarked uncrossing his arms and leaning a little more forward in his seat.
“i’ll survive on my bus pass mr. lee.” you responded. you never knew what he saw in you, you were a foreigner with calloused hands and a skill for creating all manners of leatherwork.
the meeting continued, but hoseok seemed more interested in the way your pen pressed against your lips and as you listened intently the lid covered bottom of the pen entered your mouth.
strange, strange man that lee hoseok.
the date for a fitting was settled on next thursday, but you knew what he wanted when he showed up two hours early dressed in a tank top, baggy overcoat and jeans with that small gold chain. when people asked about he said he bought it for himself, but he knew that it was the christmas present you got for him that he never took off.
when the blinds were drawn over the windows of your studio, your back was pressed up against the table. you pulled at his jacket which he shedded as his lips never left yours. large hands on your hips as he groped your sides, pushing up the baggy t-shirt your wore.
  “missed you.” he said.
“missed you too, i wish you texted more.”
he rested his cheek against your collarbone, you were now in just your bra and jeans. he wrapped his strong arms around you, “north american tours are hell. i want to do my best, which means pushing myself harder.”
“i know.” you kissed his dark hair, “and i’ll be here cheering you on.” six month together, or rather together in secret. under the guise of visiting for the custom orders. but in reality he wanted to see you.
he kissed your jaw, “let me make it up to you.” as if sending you flowers every week or sending you an uber eats order to make sure you ate, or the lengthy text messages about how close he is to just putting your face all over his socials. everyone should know about you, he said. and you told him in time, for now you didn’t want to seem like you were getting better orders because you were dating him. you didn’t want either of your works to be discounted.
he pulled you in for another searing kiss as you started to deal with his leather belt, the belt you made for him. in the process groping his bulge as you feverishly made out.
“i would like to know what kind of leather you want to use.” you teased.
his lips kissed and bit at your neck, “whatever one makes me look good. i want them all to know you made this harness for me.” he purred in your ear before his assault on your neck continued.
soon enough you were both naked and he was seated on top of your table, he pushed all your work out of the way to beckoned you to join him. you made out on his lap, straddling his waist, knees digging into the hard table. he laid back and pushed the locks out of his eyes.
dark eyes gazed up at you, he said as he face wound up when you seated yourself on his cock, “i can’t wait to show the world you’re mine my little leather maker.”
you pinned his hands above his head and looked into his eyes, “i’m a leatherworker, hoseok.” then kissed him on the cheek, “ and you’re the beauty i do up in the finest goods. i spoil you.”
he leaned up for a kiss but you pulled away. he said with his mouth hanging open, “then i should spoil you too.” he groaned as you started to move your hips up and down. your pussy engulfed his cock with the sound of slick wetness.
the table creaked a little but you were more focused on the lust in your client’s eyes as you rode him. you kept his hands over his head, it laid in the midst of your materials. it was a sight to behold to see such a beautiful man laid out amongst the leatherwork you adored.
you two continued to make out passionately as your hips moved against his, your nails dug into the skin fo his wrists as you rode yourself on him. his hard length twitched inside of you as he panted and moaned, face tensing up with every hard hit of pleasure.
  “like that.” you purred.
“i like you.” he responded. i love you, he thought. your kisses moved down his chest where you left wet kisses and he prayed you’d leave a small mark. something to carry you by every day until it healed. he’d let you make him all over if it meant carrying you like that, then maybe he could tell the world about his love for you. how he wanted you more than he needed to breathe.
the sex continued, your chest pressed against his. your body jiggling with the movement of your hips, your pussy a vice around his hard cock. your walls hugged him in a sweet, slick heat as you hips moved providing the friction you both so desired.
  “you’re amazing.”
  “you’re amazing too.”
you’re a goddess, he thought.
i want you more than anything, you thought.
the movements picked up, the sound of sex in the large room. bodies moved together with a symphony that he never wanted to end. he loved how you felt against him, your passion, your warmth, your everything. eventually he used. a bit more of his strength and got out of your hold where he grabbed your face and cupped it. he pulled you in for a searing kiss.
his tongue slipped into your mouth as you breathing rapidly through your nose as your bodies moved together against the hard table surface. you let out a small moan as your kiss deepened. his other hand on your hip, guiding you up and down on his length.
“fucking beautiful.” he said as he pulled away from this kiss, blush seared across his skin. he groaned loudly as you rubbed just right against the right spot. both hands now on your hips as he guided you up and down faster on his cock. the pleasure for both of you left you wordless.
it was like the words were on the tip of your tongue but fell down your throat when you felt the sparks of pleasure behind your eyes. you gripped onto him, nails dug into his pecks as you rode him with such a passion.
“fuck, hoseok.” you panted, feeling the curl of pleasure tighten deep in you. you swallowed back the need to scream from the pleasure and panted wildly, losing your mind to the passions of sex on your workbench.
“yes, yes.’ he grunted as your movements continued. he leaned forward a little bit, curving his back to get closer to you but as the hit of pleasure rolled through him he rested back on the table and felt the temperature in his body rise more.
the room grew hot as time went on, your bodies moving together like horny rabbits in the middle of your studio. your hope that you weren’t going to breed like them. the thought made a chuckle bloom in your lap but it never left your mouth as you were pulled in by the shoulder for another searing kiss.
you panted and let out a series of loud quick moans in tune to every jump of your hips. eyes glazed over as you opened them and your brain felt foggy, all you could rely on was the tight vice of pleasure in your gut.
your bodies were sweaty, pleasure coursed through your veins like a drug. it wasn’t long before hoseok was joining your movements to push even deeper into you. and with a few hard hitting thrusts, his head hit hard against the table, toes curled and a strangled groan exit his lips as he orgasmed. painting you white from the inside.
you were panting as you gripped onto him, pushing yourself as far as you could onto his heavy, big cock. it pushed at your walls and stretched with as his balls hit against the back of your pussy with every hard thrust. soon enough you were moaning into the echoing room of your studio. your movements slowed down and you grip on him loosened.
you pushed your hair out of your eyes as you let out a small moan in completion. you both were in silence for a few moments to catch your breath before hoseok pulled you to his chest and held you tightly.
“please.’ he said quietly, “let me show you off to the world.”
you swallowed and responded, “why don’t we get started on which leather you want.” avoiding the question. hoseok’s grip relaxed and you were able to get out of it, slipping off the table to get your clothes.
soon he was up too, pleasure ran cold by your response. even if he couldn’t have you on his arm all the time, at least he could still feel you close in moments like that. and when you touched his body during the process of making your leatherwork.
as he gazed at you from behind, he whispered to himself, “i love you, my little leatherworker.”

quotes from a fan's recap of the young veins' show at the masquerade in atlanta on 24 march 2010
(this is quite a long one but definitely worth it!)
We stood up close to the barricade- I guess second or third row if someone put it in a row perspective and it mattered. What mattered is it was ridiculously close and the venue is already tiny. Before the show started, I went over to see if they had merch even though I fully suspected that they probably did not. Turns out they had three shirts ($15 each) and I bought two of them because how could I not?
While the next band was setting up, Ryan picked up an amp and carried it over to help. Everyone was mostly like, “He can carry that thing?” or “Show off” or “It‘s really hollow inside.”
Next was The Young Veins. They come out, Ryan wearing what he’d been wearing the whole tour so far and Nick Murray in a fresh shirt today, and start setting up the stage. I don’t think they got a sound check because it took a good fifteen or twenty minutes to get everything to sound okay -Ryan and Jon telling the sound guy what to turn up and down and so on. Most of us were just mesmerized enough to be cool with that.
Honestly, Ryan has more stage presence as a front man than I would have predicted (or probably given him credit for before this show). At one point Jon started talking about the album and then he told Ryan that he got the information off of their Wikipedia. Ryan obviously wasn’t expecting that answer because he cracked up. After listening to all the songs, I really think this album is going to be better than I was expecting. “Cape Town” is my favourite, possibly, but really, it seems like a solid, well-made bunch of songs. And Ryan has quite the lung capacity. I never saw it coming. There’s hope for our boys yet!
After the show, they were tearing down their equipment and some girls called him over to the side of the stage and Kelsey assumed they were going to ask for the set list. They didn’t though so she called out to Ryan and asked for it. He went over and got his for her and she handed it to me. He took Jon and Andy’s set lists and tossed them into the crowd where Andy’s was instantly ripped into pieces by vicious fangirls. It was a bit scary. When they were finished packing things up, Ryan went to head off the stage and tripped, but caught himself.
Since the Masquerade is the coolest venue ever, I waited a few minutes, then walked right out back where the band had assembled. A few other fans went out back too and I walked out with Ryan’s gift basket.
“Ryan,” Kelsey called, then looked at me. “You wanna give it to him?” “This is for you,” is all I said and held it out. I was mentally flipping out because I’ve only been trying and failing when it comes to meeting this guy for years and now all of a sudden there he was. Ryan just smiled and said, “What did I do to deserve this?”
I told him I had just been trying to meet him forever so it was kind of like a gift to him because I had finally gotten to meet him and was celebrating. He’s a hard guy to get close to! I pointed to the fox in the basket and said, “That‘s your pet fox until you get a real one. This one will tour better.” He smiled and said, “I might feed it to my real fox when I get one. How‘s that?” I was pretty much like, “Fine with me!” because really, anything he wanted would probably be fine with me. He thanked me, all shy and sweet, and said he was going to set the basket out of the way.
Some other girls called him over and Jon, Andy, and Nick Murray were all standing around so I pulled out my bag and started handing out silly string. Of course the first thing Mr. Jon Walker does is shake it up and spray silly string all over Nick. Nick looked down at his shirt and got this very kicked puppy look about him. So I handed one to Nick and told him to retaliate. Jon ran off with his can and to some other fans, but he kept spraying people. In a few minutes, he had sprayed Nick, Will (tour manager), Andy, me, Kelsey, Ryan, and some people I didn’t know. Ryan saw his shoulder covered in silly string and proceeded to try to decorate his shoulder with it. I gave Ryan his silly string to retaliate and he forgot to shake it so when he sprayed it on Will it mostly just came out this watery liquid and soaked the guy’s shirt in a spot. FailRoss strikes again.
I asked if I could hug him and I’ve been anticipating hugging that boney kid for quite some time, but you know what? It was like the softest hug I’ve ever gotten. It wasn’t at all like I expected. It was delicate and fragile and soft. It was better than I thought though. Way better.
We saw Nick White and gave him his silly string. We told him the others had some so it was best to be ready to defend himself. He laughed and took it before running off with it in hand. A few minutes later, Ryan and Jon end up by the merch booth and a decent amount of fans gathered to meet them. We gave Jon his choice of the thread bracelets and he chose three of them and then said, “I can braid them together. Want to see me braid them?” He looked around for a moment then held the ends of the three bracelets up to me. “Here, hold these.” he said, so I did and he started braiding them really quickly. “Have you ever had braiding competitions to see who could braid the fastest?” he asked me, but honestly, I’d never even thought of having braid competitions. Apparently, Mr. Walker does this in his spare time or something. We then tied them around his wrist and got him to sign and take a picture with him. We gave him this green glow in the dark bracelet that he was excited about and instantly snapped it so it would glow and put it on. We got pictures with him and left him to the other waiting fans. One of the fans had a Foxy Shazam poster from the venue that had been up advertising the show and Jon drew himself into the picture as a stick figure. Pretty awesome.
We stopped Nick White before his family (who were at the show considering it was a home show for the Georgia boy) got to steal him away. He was awesome enough to sign three of my Bright Eyes liner notes that I had brought with me. I told him my mother was from Georgia and that her maiden name was White and he laughed and said, “Do we have the same mother?!” Pretty sure Nick White and I are unofficially family now. (Edited: Since then, we've found out we're distant cousins for real, but we fondly refer to each other as siblings. He knows us his sisters when he come to a show and we call him our brother so that's cool enough for us.) I asked him how they differentiate between the Nicks usually and he said Nick Murray commonly goes by Nicholas with the band. However, Andy and Will had also said earlier they call Nick Murray “Wildcard” and Will said he called Nick White “Peaches.” Take any of those as you’d like. We gave a glow bracelet to him too and he said, “Oowh, I want a pink one!” Dinosaur Grab-bag result: pterodactyl. It fit nicely into his pocket too with it‘s orangey-yellow head sticking out to confuse people.
Jon was now finished talking to the crowd he had had earlier and so we let him play Dino Grab-bag and he got a stegosaurus that he was quite happy with actually. (I don‘t even know what these guys are going to do with them, but they were too epic not to get them.) Kelsey mentioned his lack of flip flops and he said it had started when they were moving equipment because he has a tendency to tumble over his own feet a bit. He even volunteered to take his shoes off if Kelsey preferred, but the ground was wet a bit where people was tracked things inside so we let him keep them on. He said also something about how they didn’t get to shower as much since they were in a van. I said, “Yeah, and they only have one shower here.” Jon nodded and cringed and said, “And I don‘t want to use it after those dudes have been in there.” He said it like he was a pretty clean little girl and boys were yucky. It was fabulous.
I gave [Ryan] a beaded bracelet. “Owh, it has my name on it,” he remarked, but almost instantly Jon appeared and held out his and said, “I‘ve got one too. Don‘t feel too special.” Ryan deflated a bit, but it was all playful as Jon wondered off again. I asked if it would be okay if he signed my Panic liner notes and he said, “As long as it‘s not their new album.”
Kelsey immediately goes, “Are you going to ask him?” I’d forgotten my question so she had to remind me. “Birthday…”
“Oh yeah,” I remember, “Did you get the flowers I sent you for your birthday?”
Ryan smiled a little. “Yeah, I did. That was you?” he asked, “They came to the studio.” (It was the only address I had found that would reach him and it actually took some stalking in itself.) I told him my mom owned a florist so I got them wired out to California for him. He shrugged a little and looked down and said, “It was nice to get them. Made me feel like someone still cared.” My little Ryan Ross loving heart just broke. How could he think someone didn’t?! And if I remember correctly, all the card with them said was, “Hope your have a great birthday, Ryan! Can‘t wait to hear the new music! -Lindsey”
We let Ryan pick a thread bracelet and he looked over them and picked one that Kelsey had actually made on the way to the show with Ryan specifically in mind. It was turquoise, tan, and dark green and she thought it was so ugly that no one would want it. Ryan held it up to his pale yellow shirt and said, "It matches, see?" Who knew Ryan Ross was concerned with matching clothes?
When we left, our oh-so-awesome mother had parked next to their bus in the back alley (she always parks in that alley at shows so it wasn‘t like she was stalking them for us). We passed the bus and saw Ryan’s gift basket in the front seat and Ryan’s fort thing in the back seat (yeah, it‘s still there..ha!). Anyway, she had parked next to the bus and it was dark enough that they couldn’t see us so we sat there when they came out and packed everything in. My mom was all like, “That‘s Ryan, right? And that‘s Jon? Who is that?” and funnily, “That little guy is 24?!” and she seriously thought Nick Murray was like 14.
Over all, the entire band is humble and sweet and anything but self-absorbed like some people want to make them out to be. Each one thanked us multiple times for coming and for the gifts and for being so nice and everything. Really, they’re great guys. Go see them. Talk to them afterward. You’ll thank yourself. Seriously. Worth every minute.
(Also, the tweets about bracelets, plastic dinosaurs, glow sticks, play-doh, Ryan‘s puppy&kitty coloring book page, and the “vixen” were all gifts we gave them. Seriously, I don‘t ever want to hear about these guys being anything but amazing to fans. THEY.RULE.)
More information from the comments:
By the way I don't think it said it in there but before I left that night I walked past Jon and he was combing his hair with his dinosaur complain that it was all sweaty and curly. What a dork.
Haha...he was complaining about his hair all evening. I had no idea his hair was such a big deal to him. But if he wants to comb his hair with a dinosaur toy, who are we to try to stop him?
oh god @ me being in the bg of your picture with jon... anyway i was gonna tell you that we met jon right after you gave him the bracelets and he spent like ten seconds looking at it saying, "they gave me a bracelet, look!"

Could you explain further why you think that tom was the dumper?
I just want to see if our thinking matches
Oooof....So many things....so many things lol..... GIRL!😅
Get yourself some wine (or hot cocoa lol) and pull up a chair, cuz it's a LOT.....
Here are some of my reasons for why I suspect (I don't know for sure obviously) that Tom was the one to initiate the breakup:
Zendaya was still wearing Tom's shirt and watch around the FFH press tour/premiere time (if YOU were the dumper, why on earth would you rub salt in the wound and do that??)
She accidentally said "cuddling with my boyfriend" when talking about her "perfect day" on the red carpet (again...did you FORGET that YOU were the one who broke up with your bf?? OR.... lol😅 )
Z seemed blind-sided by the Tolivia pics, but at the same time she made it seem like she didn't want people thinking that Tom had cheated on her.
The fact that she got with JE AFTER Tom was spotted with Olivia (not beforehand 👀). If Z had dumped Tom, why didn't SHE get with someone else before him?? Usually you don't just wake up one day saying "Oh, I'm going to dump my bf of 2 years!" No..this stuff has been brewing... So if you were the initiator, it's cuz you've been thinking about it for a WHILE lol. But Tom got with someone else before she did. Then, she herself decided to move on and started dating JE. This is precisely why I don't think anything "funny" was going on btwn her and JE prior to the Tolivia pics hitting the internet. I think JE saw them and reached out to HER. If he had known she was single long time ago, he would have reached out long time ago right?? He would have dumped Cari long before August right?? 👀
Z had bought a keyhole neckchain for Tom and he started wearing it during the London FFH photocall thingy. Now, if YOU dumped a guy, why would you be gifting him jewelry?? Unless, you had already ordered it beforehand, and it was custom-made for him and you decided to give it to him anyway?
Then there was this tea from someone close to Z:
Tumblr media
Now, I'm not saying you cant' be "heartbroken" when you're the dumper in a broken relationship (you can be!), but the way this was worded, it made it seem like Z was heartbroken that things didn't work out btwn them....
Another thing is, Z didn't even dump Trevor who was cheating behind her back lol. You really think she dumped Tom who is the nicest, most upstanding guy she's ever been with?? For WHAT exactly?? LOL You've seen how MUSH she is with him.... We never saw it before cuz they kept it behind closed doors. But now that we see how "girlfriend Daya" is, and we know how sweet Tom is, you really think she said: "You know what.... I just think we need to breakup"? 😅
Then, there was THIS "tea" that an Anon spilled to me. I use the term "tea" VERY loosely here, because who knows if it's even true??? I just know that supposedly there were TWO versions of the "Audrey" tea that was being told around.... This version actually makes the most sense to me...
Another thing that always struck me as odd is the fact that I feel like Tom must have reached out to Z when those NYC/Jacdaya pics came out. Cuz they were still trying to be relatively "friendly" up until then on social media (trying to act like nothing was wrong/different lol), and then BAM! After that!??? Whew chiiiilllle..... Tom unfollowed Darnell and Deja.... Then from that point on, Z paid Tom DUST! 🤣 Tom is definitely the more impulsive one, so I feel like he probably also impulsively initiated the breakup also. I don't think that if Z were the one who broke up with TOM that he would have been hitting the fan so hard at those pics. He would have been like, "Well....she's moved on...she dumped me....". The fact that he was so bold in probably contacting her is because he deep down must have known that she still loved him. He knew he wasn't the initiator of the breakup in other words. Just my hunch.
Tom's "I broke my heart myself" comment seems very obvious that it wasn't HIM who was dumped.
Tom also initiated his breakups with Elle, Olivia, AND Nadia. 👀👀
Tom's reaction to the Tolivia pics in the GQ interview was also very telling. If you were the one who was DUMPED, why are you worried if people caught you with another woman? Yea, sure okay....maybe it's the first time your little fans have seen you with a woman before lol...but still. He seemed disturbed. I think it's because he knew that once those pics got out, there was no turning back now on Zendaya's end. 🤣
Then even when he reached out to her for the Emmy nod, yet again I got the impression that he felt like HE needed to be the one to ammend things. I feel like if Z had been the dumper, SHE would have been the one trying to get on HIS good graces, not the other way around.
Anyway......
I know some Anons HATE It when I bring up the exes or post these post, but it's the best way I can consolidate what happened around that time, and I added all of the tea and receipts from around that era so that I didn't have to keep repeating myself lol. 🤣
Some other reading for your enjoyment if you want to get more backstory.....
TL;DR Version: We obviously don't know for sure, so all of this is just speculation. I just haven't seen strong enough evidence to lead me to the belief that Z was the one to initiate the breakup. And sad to say?? I actually think Tom had more reasons to initiate a breakup than Z did lol...

meeting ryan mason🤍🌟
i never even imagined to actually meet ryan, let alone to have the little moment that we had.
i’m so thankful that he gave me a few minutes of his time. it was lovely meeting him. we talked, we hugged, we took some pics😋
[this is a very long one, because i want to remember every detail…✨]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
in singapore, on july 26 before the match, me and my friend decided to go to the hotel that spurs stayed. we saw a video of sonny giving signs in front of the hotel the night before, and even though it was highly unlikely for them to stop for the fans since it was matchday, we wanted to at least try since we’d flown all the way to singapore for this pre-season tour. on the way there she said, “but it’s okay if we don’t get to see them, right?” and i said “yeah, of course”. so we just went with no expectation and just hoped for some luck.
but someone can always try, right?
since i bought the tickets 3 months ago, i literally kept saying that i want to see ryan. i prayed that he’d be on ange’s team because i was most excited to see him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
well, i did see him from afar. but i was quite disappointed that during the open training (july 25), they weren’t allowed to walk around. so despite getting the front row (queued/waited for 3+ hours, stood under the sun for an hour for that😪), i didn’t really get anything. really envious of people that were around the tunnel because ryan pretty much signed everyone’s shirt (some the players did too).
later that night, i posted some instagram stories, just some normal updates about the open training. i made some stories about the players and tagged them, i made 2 about ryan and tagged him. on one story i said that i flew out there to see him, blablabla, and that wish i could’ve seen him up close and hold up the sign that i brought (i attached the pic).
he saw both stories. so when i was waiting outside the hotel, i was like, hmmm…let’s just try to send him a DM. i hoped that he’d see it, but i swear, i never thought that he’d reply.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
basically, i said that i’d really appreciate it if he could stop a minute for a quick sign / photo if he comes in / out the hotel. he said that he was at lunch and he’d pop out at the lobby right after.
now. i’d been already nervous, waiting for 40 minutes for him after he gave that first reply. but this is where i started losing my mind.
but apparently, i was not in front of the lobby. the place where the fans were given space to wait was apparently the side/ballroom entrance. i thought that he was going to come out from there and give signs to everyone, just like normal, right?
but no. he asked me to come to the lobby. ❓‼️⚠️🫨
so i left alone (my friend decided to stay, she didn’t want to lose the place that we’d been keeping for 1+ hour) and tried to find the lobby. there was one staff from the EO that kindly told me where the lobby is (i can’t believe i said, “sir, can you please tell me where the lobby is? ryan mason, the spurs coach, asked me to meet him there” with full confidence).
thankfully it was just a turn to the left. i was kind of looking around and looking down at my phone, because i thought i’d have to send ryan another message, informing that i was there.
but when i looked up, he was already walking towards me. he gave me a little wave, said hi with a little smile, and OPENED HIS ARMS FOR A HUG ASHSHAHZNKANZJSJSJS ISTG I’M NOT MAKING THIS UP!!!!!1!1!!1!!😭😭😭😭😭
so i hugged him. (it still doesn’t make sense/doesn’t feel real no matter how much i think about it or say it out loud).
and we talked. i’m a forgetful person so i just kind of held my phone and recorded our conversation (it’s been 3 days and i still don’t have the courage to listen to it because i know i sounded silly, i must’ve said something stupid). the recording was 3 minutes and 46 seconds long, and during the conversation we were interrupted by a driver because we were blocking his parking spot HAHA. i managed to tell ryan some things i wanted to tell him and asked a question i’ve always wanted to ask him.
and seriously, i was SO NERVOUS (i told him that and he could probably tell anyway) (i mean, how could i be not nervous? i was not prepared for this!!) but ryan was just so sweet and attentive and so kind🥺😔😭❤️
i have a bad habit of panicking and rushing things out when i meet or talk to my idols or people i look up to. and i didn’t want to take up much of ryan’s time, so i asked him to sign the shirt that i bought (we struggled because my hands were full but he wanted me to stretch the shirt ashszbnsnszjs i remember i kept saying sorry😭). and after that, i said thank you, asked for another hug which he said yes to hehehehehe, and said good bye. it seemed like he was about to go back in, but people were approaching him to as for a sign.
…that was when i remember that we hadn’t taken pics😀
so i said sorry and interrupted him and asked for a pic. and he said “well, you can’t forget about that!”. so we take some pics and i can’t believe i managed to take back camera-0.5x zoom selfies with him…
Tumblr media
if i knew i even had the chance to meet him in person, i would’ve brought some gifts from home! and at least prepare myself for the conversation🥲 i just blurted out everything that came across my mind. but it was so lovely to talk to him.
(me and my friend were in front of the hotel for hours…we got to see them when they were inside to move between the ballrooms, and when they were departing the hotel. it was understandable that they couldn’t stop and say hi, but they weren’t even allowed to do that during the match / open training, it was really strict…they only give signs and took pics with the vips, and for people around the tunnel who were lucky enough. quite opposite from when they were in korea, it seemed like they stopped for everyone and everywhere.)
so that’s it. the highlight of my first pre-season trip. i’d like to think that this was the answer of all the hoping, manifesting, and praying i did. i wanted to say that it was more than i could ever imagine, but i never even imagined it.
not a bad first pre-season tour experience, eh?😋 biggest thank you to ryan for that🤍💫

"Colors of Bang Yongguk Tour" Fan Account - Oakland, CA (230616)
It’s been 2 days since I saw Yongguk live and he’s truly been on my mind non-stop for the last 48 hours. :’)
>>Personal “Origin” Story<< Since B.A.P debuted and were active during my high school and college years, unfortunately I never had the money (or time) to be able to attend any of their concerts. When I saw that Yongguk was going on tour, I didn’t know what to think -- I’ve been in and out of my “kpop phase” for the last 12 years, and the only group that I consistently stanned throughout that time was BTS. All of my friends are either newer kpop fans or strictly girl group fans so I knew I’d be going to this concert alone, but ultimately I knew it wouldn’t be a big deal as I’ve gone solo to many concerts in the past. I saw the (shockingly) low price of the ticket and the venue being so nostalgic (I partied a decent amount at The New Parish pre-COVID lol) so I bought my ticket happily in May. The excitement did nothing but grow overtime.
I’ve been thinking about how many BABYz used to write fan accounts during fan signings/concerts waaay back in the day (if you were on Tumblr during 2012-2014, you’ll know what I mean). I remember being a teenager discovering kpop for the first time, having B.A.P be the first group where I started stanning since debut, learned every member’s name, kept up with releases on the daily, had Yongguk become my first “ult bias” (before I even knew what that was) and “fan’d” my heart out every comeback on Tumblr. I wanted to write a fan account to remember this concert but also hopefully share it with other long-time BABYz who are feeling nostalgic!
>>Going solo to the concert<< As (somewhat) expected, I met some amazing people in line as well as inside the venue who were also attending the concert solo! For me, I love hearing about how others got into stanning a certain musician or group as well as their favorite(s) song(s). As someone who didn’t grow up with other “kpop friends”, it felt so surreal to think that there were others like me 10+ years ago fully enjoying the same music, and having that musician tie everyone together now one decade later. Sometimes I get anxious in crowds and especially with strangers, but I did not feel that way for even a minute before, during, and after the concert. Maybe it’s a mix of the Bay Area/California and long-time BABY vibes. (Also fun sidenote: some people and I were comparing our tattoos in line and we said “Okay now it’s time for Yongguk to do a tattoo tour. Show the chest piece pls” -- So when Yongguk came out in that button-up shirt with only two buttons buttoned and his chest tattoo on full display… I need y’all to know we manifested that for everyone’s benefit. 😩🫡)
>>REACTION TO THE CONCERT & SONGS<< I’m not sure how long people were lined up for, but I arrived around 5PM (doors opened at 6PM and the concert started at 7PM) and I ended up standing to the right of the stage (Yongguk’s left) in the second/third-ish row right next to the speakers with an amazing up close view the entire night. (In hindsight, I should have remembered to bring my ear plugs because I’m not as young as I used to be and should probably take better care of my eardrums and hearing lol). Also, as I mentioned before, I knew the venue relatively well so I knew to go to the side closer to the stage rather than standing several rows back in the middle even if it meant having not as wide of a view of the stage. The person next to me and I were super excited because our angle meant we were going to be able to see the minute Yongguk appeared from off stage and onto the stage.
Although normally I do not listen to the setlist of artists before their concerts, I hadn’t listened to Yongguk consistently in years so I did look up the setlist and made my own Spotify playlist to get myself hyped up and ready to sing along. As soon as Yongguk came out, I feel like I metaphorically blacked out for the first couple songs (GMT, Up, Race) because I did not remember those performances until I watched others’ fancams. I think I came to my senses during “Rain on Me” because that is THE twerk anthem. The sex appeal and confidence from him from the start of the concert (and especially during “Rain on Me”) was no joke. I feel like my jaw was probably embarrassingly dropped wide open for all of the first songs. There’s also something feral that awakes inside me everytime he says “you never fucking know” and the chorus of “UFO” starts then his voice DROPS a register as he starts rapping and hearing that live??? I was transported to another dimension.
When he started singing “Hikikomori” then went into “I Remember” I think it was then I realized he was doing this tour for us -- for the fans and the BABYz who have been here the whole time (or at least a very long time). As I’m writing this now and reflecting, everything he said during his ments/talks was him just continuously thanking us, telling us how much he loves us, and saying how it’s been “such a long time”. I literally could choke up thinking about it right now how he’s waited just as long as we have.
Yongguk asked the audience to put their phones down so he could make eye contact with every person. And like someone said, “when Bang Yongguk tells you to do something, you do it no questions asked.” Then he started singing “Screwed Up” while literally looking at every corner of the venue, balcony, floor, sidestage -- literally my delulu mind was convinced he was staring and flirting with me too. I lost the “IDGAF if this man notices me” war right then and there. (I have yet to find a fancam of “Screwed Up”, which is fair because he told us to put our phones down, but if anyone has a video of him literally making flirty eyes to the entire audience, PLEASE send it to me.)
Right after “Screwed Up”, he goes into “Green” and at the end said something similar to “I wrote Green so I could sing it with all of my fans one day, so thank you for singing along with me.” and I just about sobbed.
By “Ride or Die” and “YA” he is fully body rolling everywhere on stage, flirting with every single person in the audience, and everyone is losing their minds (including me).
Also at some point during the show he started sending so many air kisses to everyone. He also would be (seemingly) speechless in between sets and just repeated “wow… woah…” and kept showing his gummy smile 😭 The cheers were so loud inside the venue sometimes my ears were ringing just from the crowd singing and screaming so I wonder if he was in awe or wasn’t expecting that? (Even though he deserves all the love!)
Then at some point the crowd started chanting “take it off” (meaning his shirt that was truly barely hanging onto him) and he gets SHY and kept asking “Why?” -- I just don’t understand how someone can go from biting his shirt, flirting with the entire audience, body rolling nonstop on stage, to a completely genuine “I’m so shy” cute smiley lil baby. He was so cute I could barely process him going from rapping his lungs out to “uwu vibes” in the matter of seconds and the only single thought my single braincell had was “so cute so cute so cute”. Yongguk is truly the duality of mankind. (He did eventually give one more ab flash [in addition to his “tattoo sticker” promo shirt lifting] so you can find that photo floating around on social media.)
He threw water (from bottles he drank out of) into the crowd twice during “OFF” and “YAMAKAZI” and I have never been happier to be blessed with holy water. I think “OFF” is my favorite hype song in recent years so I absolutely loved hearing that live -- despite it being toward the second half of the show, his energy never stopped and the crowd’s energy also kept getting more and more hyped.
Towards the end Yongguk said, “Although tonight is the last U.S. stop for the tour, it’s not a goodbye. I promise to come back… I’ve said this all tour, but as much as you all love me, please also love yourself.” Before starting “Orange Drive”, Yongguk dedicated the song to his fans and his grandfather in heaven. Then during the encore, alongside the usual “Xie Xie” and “See You Later” he also sang “Ride or Die” one more time and did a lot of fanservice.
His marketing worked because all the merch was soldout after the show, but I was able to snag the "tattoo sticker" sheet just like he suggested :') -- I am lowkey glad I was unable to get a meet & greet ticket because I feel like I was already internally combusting at the thought of having to meet him and take a selfie after the concert, so if it actually happened I probably would've externally exploded.
ALSO -- This man’s stamina is no joke though because he really kept going for a full 1.5 hours and jumping around on stage with minimal “ments/talking” in between songs. If this hadn’t been the last stop on his tour, I would have definitely considered attending another stop. If I had known how amazing of a performer he was and how great the energy would be to hear everything live (from him and the crowd), I would’ve balled out and gone to the LA stop the day before.
>>FUTURE?<< Yongguk promised he would release another album in the future and go on tour once again. Though none of us know when that will be, I know I will wait with anticipation for this experience to happen again (and again if he and/or other B.A.P members decide to tour). The combined elements of a small venue, love from BABYz and Yongguk, and seeing someone I feel like grew up alongside me is something that I won’t ever have the right words to describe, but can only feel. Thank you for taking the time to read my reflections and ramblings~
