Tell us how you would redo SMASH tell ussssss
OH HELL YEH Thanks.
OK, SO in my ideal world, Smash runs for 5 seasons. Remember that bc I’ll come back to that later. Overall Tone: I would take it all... and dial it up to 100.  Remember Ellis? Now EVERY character is that fucking crazy. It’s like Glee if Glee was self-aware to how batshit crazy it was, and relished it. The problem was that Theresa Rebeck (season 1) knows what NYC theatre is like, tried to be realistic, but also make it relatable to middle America, and that Joshua Safran (season 2) does not but also tried the same things. When really they needed someone who A) knew what NYC theatre was like B) didn’t give a fuck and C) didn’t give a fuck also about if middle America found it relatable.  But Sarah! What about viewings? You ask. Well, if YOU’RE the moron who’s going to write about a hyper-specific industry I think you just gotta dive in. Commit. Make everything fucking crazy and completely unrelatable to literally everyone. Riverdale that shit but make it good writing. Ultimately, it’s why season 1 worked better. Because at least my girl Theresa knew how to write drama without resorting to burying her gays. I think she should have taken it up higher though. Like, when Uma Thurman’s character got an allergic reaction? I think Karen and Ivy should have teamed up to poison her. I said what I said.  As for the Team Ivy vs. Team Karen? We’re balancing a tricky line here bc it has to be dramatic but also not misogynistic. (that season 1 Ivy character assassination? Bad.)   Ideally, these two would go from hating each others GUTS to reluctantly teaming up against movie star Rebecca (Uma Thurman would thus have to appear earlier and stay longer), deciding that they are in love actually like each other, and cheering on their successes and hating on the MEN who force them against each other. (But while we’re on the subject... #TeamIvy).  That Out Of The Way: Season 1: The Bombshell Workshop Phase Season 1 would ONLY follow the workshop phases of season 1. Which is most of it. Here we have Ivy and Karen’s strangers to enemies to reluctant teammates to friends to lovers arc. This is the emotional core of the show. Rebecca Uma Thurman has to show up around the midway point. Julia’s adoption arc? Throw it out. Sorry Ms. Rebeck i stan you but it sucks. Focus on her and Tom’s friendship as the secondary emotional standpoint. They’ve worked with with other for years!! That dynamic is awesome!! But they were fighting the whole ass show??? Nah. Pit them against Derek. I would change nothing with Eileen.  Oh I also don’t give a shit about Karen’s shitty boyfriend. Season 2: The Bombshell Out of Town Tryout/ Enter Hit List  The first half of season two is the out of town tryout with #TeamIvyKaren against #TeamRebecca coming to a head through rehearsals and the first few previews. Like, I’m talking some Phantom of the Opera level fuckery these two are doing. Falling set pieces, costume malfunction, Ivy actually fucking putting the peanuts in her smoothie. It’s seen as OK bc in this version of Smash Rebecca is a terrible person who has no respect for the ~~**~Theatre~~**~~ The creative team still choose Karen as Marilyn (why?) but she doesn’t get good reviews!! This causes Karen to freak out if the theatre life is really right for her when she meets Jimmy and Kyle. Karen jumps ship to Hit List, Ivy rises to her rightful place as Marilyn in Bombshell. Rehearsals begin to reshape the show for Broadway, Hit List lands its Off-Broadway run. Season 3: Broadway Here I Come/ It’s Tony Time Babey!!  Bombshell opens on Broadway, Hit List opens Off-Broadway and KYLE DOESN’T FUCKING DIE (He still gets hit by a car, everyone thinks he died at first, but he’s just in a coma for a few episodes wherein he has weird out-of-body experiences.) Hit List transfers to Broadway.  BUT WE HAVE SOME DRAMA because Movie Star Rebecca has landed the role of Maggie in a revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof! We have some cross-show hate bt Bombshell/ Hit List/ and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof because they’re all on 45th street. There’s drama bt Julia and Kyle bc of Kyle’s fling with Tom! But will it last? No! Kyle ends up really hitting it off with Wesley Taylor’s ensemble member character when he visits Tom backstage at Bombshell! Eileen threw one too many drink in her ex husbands face and he’s legally blind now also she’s producing Bombshell AND Hit List! I’m fucking crapping that shit with Ana getting booted from Hit List and Derek being a perv. Karen and ivy still really hate Rebecca (??? it’s Smash it doesn’t have to make sense!) so they stage a coup and replace her in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof with Jennifer Hudson’s character! The Tonys happen! I liked how they worked out in the show, so i’ll keep that. Jimmy still goes to prison! Tom gets back together with Sam!  Season 4: That’s How We Keep 8 Shows A Week Fresh Y’all  Basically what it sounds like. We go back and forth between Hit List and Bombshell and the absolute CHAOS of backstage on Fake Broadway. There’s a snowstorm that shuts down the city, people hooking up backstage. Derek has an actual redemption arc. Ivy does not get knocked up bc she knows how to use birth control. The Big Story is how bc Eileen is involved with some illegal shit if it’s going to all come crashing down on the unsuspecting actors and writers. Tom and Julia start writing their Great Gatsby Musical. Fictional Lin-Manuel Miranda is there. Jimmy gets out of prison and rejoins the cast. This season takes up about 2 years of time and will be dubbed the weakest one by critics and fans alike.  Season 5: Big Finish!   Bombshell and Hit List have been running for about 3 years total by now. Eileen’s illegal shit comes out. Bombshell and Hit List have to close! It’s a really long that takes up the whole season. All the camp of the previous seasons is gone now and it actually is really beautiful and sad. Some real “What I Did For Love” shit.  At the end, Hit List is able to transfer back Off-Broadway a la Jersey Boys and Avenue Q with a new producer, Bombshell dies but goes out strong and is recorded for PBS and eventual DVD. Ivy now finds out she’s pregnant and also joins the workshop of The Great Gatsby The Musical as Daisy, Ana is Jordan Baker, Sam is Jay Gatsby, Nick Carraway is played Nick Jonas’s character who no one has seen since season 1. Derek is the director.  Another Op’ning Another Show yall.  Karen and Ivy reunite to sing “Big Finish”  End of Series.    You’re welcome everyone, even though literally only 1 person asked for this.

The Best Horror Movies Ever #1: The Shining
Tumblr media
When it was first released, Stanley Kubrick’s film adaptation of the iconic Stephen King novel was met with mixed reviews. Now, despite the perfectly valid criticisms surrounding actors performances, pacing and cinematic techniques, this film will forever be a staple of horror, and indeed, all of movie history. Here’s why Stanley Kubrick’s, The Shining is one of the best horror movies of all time.
1) Set Design. Not only are they large scale, but they reflect the mystery of The Overlook Hotel. Take the opening scene: as Jack walks through the lobby, in the background of shot we can clearly view a hallway opening with people coming and going. Yet Mr Ullman’s office has a large, glass window with sunlight coming in through what should be solid wall. Also, each section of the hotel has its own distinctive look.
- Room 237: pale greens and purples providing a more dream-like quality to the dwelling of the ghastly lady in the tub.
- The common area: washed-out and aged colours with a more ‘western’/cowboys and Indians theme, enabling the audience to interpret Kubrick’s possible real world metaphors, while also better focus on the actors more bold clothing fabrics.
- The kitchen: silver and sheer surfaces, giving scenes that take place there a cold and clinical feeling, with increased fear of armed violence.
By creating different looks for different areas of The Overlook, Kubrick intentionally alienates the audience. We can better empathise with Wendy’s disorientation, if we are also lost in a universe which is rarely, visually consistent.
2) Practical Effects. Within The Shining, there’s a scarce amount of visual effects that weren’t created by makeup or manually. Even the overhead shot of the maze was done using a partially practical set, and zooming out over the surrounding landscape which was later edited. Elevators releasing a tidal-wave of fake blood, smashing a door in with an axe- these things are made far more terrifying when they don’t depend on CGI to manifest on screen. Heck, there’s several big budget film companies who’d probably have 8 year old Danny Torrance zooming around on a minimal green-screen set instead of just building what they needed, and could definitely afford.
3) Acting Performances. Before anyone says it, YES, there’s a few people in this movie guilty of over-acting. And yes, I am biased. Jack Nicholson can do no wrong in my eyes. However, as a performer, I can understand why Kubrick hired these actors, and encouraged...exaggerated responses.
- Shelley Duvall. It’s no secret that Shelley had a horrific time on set, and it’s clearly present in the behind the scenes footage on the DVD. But I’m here to talk about her performance itself. I personally think she did a great job, despite the fact it’s so different to how Wendy Torrance appears in Kings’ text. This film is made great by it’s absurd, artificial portrayal of family, and cabin fever. When Wendy goes hysterical, I can believe it. Partially because from the start, she wasn’t exactly composed. Duvall, while exaggerated, fills the role of scream queen pretty effectively. Her hysteria contrasts everyone else’s acceptance of, or relatively calm approach to what we’re seeing. She’s like adding wasabi to sushi. Surprising, but it stands out.
- Jack Nicholson. Aside from the fact he’s one of the greatest actors of all time, don’t @ me, Nicholson taps into the meat of Jack Torrance’s psychological breakdown. Especially in a film, especially a Kubrick film, we can’t always have the same gradual, subtle decline we can in a book. Stephen King wasn’t a fan of this on-screen portrayal either, but again, it WORKS within this adaptation. Take the car scene where the trio is driving to The Overlook. Jack’s demeanour is intentionally uptight, silently agitated without real reason. “It’s okay, he saw it on the television.” is one example of how Jack is already prone to illogical annoyance. In a 146 minute film, it’s more believable that The Overlook would infiltrate the mind of a person who is already vulnerable to being a vessel of violence.
4) Cinematography. Kubrick’s style is very distinctive within the film industry, and if I asked you to think of an example of his works, you’d probably say The Shining first. Namely, the constant tone he creates. The suspenseful build is somehow very laid back; not depending on jump-scares or sudden audio strikes to make you tense. Kubrick keeps his audience on the edge of their seats by forcing you to pay attention. His work is like watching a security camera, or a found footage film. You have to watch the foreground, and are rewarded for observing the background. Every frame is crafted, rather than just done for the sake of it. Modern cinema, particularly within horror, just wants to throw everything in the audiences face. Like showing a baby a shiny set of keys. Kubrick doesn’t do that. He trusts the audience will want to pay attention to his work, and the story, and rewards us for our diligence.
To conclude, The Shining is a very unique film within the horror genre, and can be picked apart for its subtext, it’s creative license etc. It’s also a source of ethical controversy, with actors and crew having a whole spectrum of experiences working on the project (though that’s a topic for another day). Whether you personally like the film or not, you can’t deny, as a standalone piece, it’s incredibly beautiful for its manipulation of reality and framing of events. It’s responsible for inspiring many modern film makers and creative minds. For all these reasons, Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, is one of the best horror films ever made.

Nintendo GameCube review
while the Nintendo 64 was thriving
in 1997 wei-yin who had worked with
Silicon Graphics to create the
graphical innovation utilized for the n64
framed another tech organization called our X
what's more, in 1998 they were given an undertaking by
Nintendo back to make another
illustrations processor for their impending
replacement their expectation was to make it
the head honcho 128 bit juggernaut
of gaming frameworks with Howard Lincoln
expressing that dr. Yin had the best individuals
chipping away at it the control center was moreover
planned with a more straightforward rs IC which made
it simpler for outsider engineers to
make games for it appears to be somewhat amusing
taking into account how much outsider
engineers of lower than the intenders
Locke share arrangements, thinking back to the eighth
what's more, 16-bit time on May 1999 Nintendo
reported undertaking dolphin as a replacement
to the n64 the task name depends on
the processor made by rx called the
flipper which would likewise carry on into
a portion of Nintendo's special features like Super
Mario Sunshine similarly as the processor was
approaching finishing in 2008 ex was
bought by ATI you might perceive their
logo on the framework
notwithstanding the securing the group was
still ready to complete the processor as
arranged and that very year the Gamecube
was reported by Nintendo the following year
dispatch titles were recorded including Star
Wars Rogue Squadron 2 rebel pioneer and
Luigi's Mansion it's no time like the present Luigi
got his own legitimate game Mario is missing
doesn't tally
the Nintendo GameCube was delivered on
September 2001 in Japan November in
North America and the remainder of the world
by May 2002 and in obvious Nintendo
custom its dispatch cost was $399 much
not as much as its opponents this is one of the
most essential yet special looking control center
I've at any point seen
the title of this thing represents
itself the Nintendo GameCube like any
Nintendo framework between the mid 90s to
mid-2000s it had a rainbow of shadings to
browse like orange silver dark and
indigo as you see here I'm really not
a major aficionado of the plan resembles an
curiously large lunchbox and it's perhaps one
of the reasons
I didn't sell just as it ought to have
which we'll get to while the handle is
convenient seriously
holding 10 years old control center openly
would be quite humiliating you know
what they ought to have done make it look
more like a dolphin and it requires
water to control it sorry I'm simply trying
to discover ways that can make the control center
stay consistent with the code name you have the
power at the back and AV yield here
which additionally has a discretionary advanced opening
for reformist yield down on the
base are yields for a modem to permit
broadband association and the Game Boy
player which I addressed in my Game Boy
Advance audit strongly suggested in the event that you
can track down a modest remember it needs
to circle to run it discussing the Game
Kid Advance a few games like Metroid
Prime Fusion and pokemon ruby sapphire
exploited the gamecube gameboy
progressed interface link subsequent to staying with
cartridges for the Nintendo 64 fizzled
according to a monetary point of view the
entender at last did the change to
plates however it didn't make any difference that much
since they were as yet distrustful about
theft Nintendo called skillet to the side to make
extraordinary small DVDs that held around one
furthermore, a half gigabytes far underneath the
PlayStation 2 and Xbox as their games
utilize ordinary size double layer DVDs that
held around eight and a half gigabytes
they are in a real sense the size of my hand
on the off chance that I had no fingers and a few games like
Metal Gear Solid the twin snake and
Occupant Evil 4 require two circles
regardless of games being packed and
radiating a couple of provisions graphically it
was very near its adversaries yet don't
expect the gamecube library to be filled
with framework pushing forces to be reckoned with like
terrific robbery auto or half-life 2 I truly
fail to see why dr. yen's group at
Ardex went past to make the
dolphin's graphical capacities more
incredible than its opponents in light of the fact that the
circle size implies it can't work to its
maximum capacity and afterward again the
Nintendo 64 just utilized cartridges while
the PlayStation utilized CDs and today the
n64 rounds old enough more smoothly I'm not
what you call a tech master talking about
the Nintendo 64 the regulator isn't
splendid to be straightforward it was imaginative
with its simple stick and thunder Pak
be that as it may, it's so abnormal to utilize essentially
since you can't arrive at all the catches
except if you trade handles it genuinely
wouldn't have shocked me if this
wasn't planned by a human the frightfulness
cushion smaller than usual 64 fixes that load of issues and
to say the gamecube regulator improves
from its
is putting it softly of all the
controls I've utilized in the course of my life this
one is my top choices it's longer than 10 years
old with no dead right on the money either simple
stick it's agreeable each catch can
be reached during interactivity without
trading handles and is just about as dependable as a
wood-consuming oven words don't do
equity on how astounding this regulator
is trust me it merits paying for the
genuine article over post-retail marketplaces this is made
for Nintendo special features like attempting to
play Sims bustin out with this thing
I'll stay with a console and mouse however
games like super crush siblings skirmish
furthermore, Metroid pride yes I endorse however
Nintendo weren't done when Super Smash
Siblings Wii U came in 2014 the interest
for a gamecube regulator expanded
again right to the point that Nintendo
delivered a connector that permits you to
plug GameCube regulators into the Wii U
furthermore, re-delivered the actual regulator
for the silver Super Smash Brothers logo
furthermore, a more extended wire which is the reason it's the
one a normal use and on the grounds that it's the
most current the GameCube has two memory cards
what's more, four regulator inputs like a
Nintendo 64 probably the greatest strength
was center multiplayer a few
races and gems in Mario Kart Double
Run for instance you and your companions
are snared
anyway online movement was negligible best
what's more, right now old the lone game the
previously mentioned modem took into account
web gaming was Phantasy Star Online
the rest would land and a couple of games
exploited it in Tendo
president's instructional exercise wada said in 2004
that most clients don't wish to pay
the additional cash for association with the
Web and for certain clients
association methods to the Internet
are as yet difficult
perhaps Nintendo gamers overall were
enthusiastic about web based gaming at that point and
the Internet was altogether different thought about
to what it is currently however I would have preferred
for him to say that center to Bill Gates
the Gamecube was likewise the principal Nintendo
console not to have a Super Mario game
as a dispatch title when Super Mario
Daylight being delivered a year after
dispatch and the last to have a selective
created by uncommon with starfox
experiences it was delivered on September
23 2002 then on September 24 the organization
was bought by Microsoft a date which
will live in shame
uncommon were likewise fostering a continuation of
Diddy Kong Racing called Donkey Kong
Hustling he was even on pieces of game view
special material however the Microsoft
procurement messed up those
plans
luckily Nintendo had another selective
designer who were similarly as skilled with
Nintendo IPs come forward
retro Studios who restored the Metroid
series in a huge manner with pry one of the
most noteworthy computer games at any point made
Nintendo kept on depending on their
mascots with Mario Kart Double Dash
super crush siblings skirmish Paper Mario
the thousand-year entryway Luigi's Mansion
Creature Crossing Pikmin f-zero GX The
Legend of Zelda the Wind Waker and
Nightfall Princess outsider help
was a lot more grounded with a fabulous complete of
661 games formally delivered in
correlation with the Nintendo 64 with 388
games just as delivering outsider
special features including Metal Gear Solid
the Twin Snakes Resident Evil 4 and Star
Wars Rogue Squadron 2 maverick pioneer
anybody can concur that the Gamecube
produced a great deal of extraordinarily strong titles
so I was a third spot in the control center
wars well I have two hypotheses Nintendo
were putting in more effort to focus on a grown-up
crowd with the new Capcom arrangement to
make Resident Evil select to Nintendo
what's more, there are an IP unceasing murkiness
mental soundness' Requiem but since the
Gamecube looks more like a child's toy
contrasted with the Xbox and PlayStation to
add to Nintendo's theft neurosis which
implied less space for engineers to work
with and you have a gaming framework that
doesn't have the foggiest idea what it needs to be we should
see it again it's a purple shape that
utilizes minuscule circles requires an uncommon
regulator to play and a portion of the games
like zelda windwaker in which the
trailer guaranteed a hazier Zelda title
you cel-concealed impacts these were
warnings flagging that the game line
was a game control center only for youngsters this
doesn't resemble a framework that will
have a concise selective title wherein
Leon s Kennedy can have his head cut off
with a trimming tool
talking about West's shame the one
surefire thing that truly harms deals
the same way a killed the Sega Dreamcast
was the absence of a DVD player or perhaps a
Precision Orange is to unseemly for
a Nintendo framework to take DVDs detonated
in prevalence during the mid 2000s and
the ps2 and Xbox had the option to function as
Blue ray players turning out to be more than just
gaming frameworks instead of the
Gamecube did I notice it came out a couple
days after the Xbox in North America it
was hard for nintendo on the grounds that there was
exclusively a gaming organization and keeping in mind that the
convenient market was benevolent to them they
were going up

25 Words - TIVA
Hello there! Me and @dazzlingstarlight decided to try this writing challenge from @promptlywritingideas. We sent each other 25 words so the other could write 25 sentences. Well, in my case these aren’t sentences. I just couldn’t stop myself and developed it further, so most of it is pieces of unrelated conversations.
Enjoy my TIVA take on the wonderful writing challenge and don’t forget to read magnificent Harm/Mac version of dazzlingstarlight!
(1)  House
Ziva sighed in content, letting the sunrays to caress her skin as she watched her little daughter and her little son playing in their playground from her place at the porch. It was truly a brilliant idea to buy a house for their growing DiNozzo family.
(2)  Movie
“What movie are we going to watch?” Tony asked Ziva nervously, fidgeting in his armchair. As a huge movie fan and self-proclaimed movie expert, he didn't feel excessively comfortable with someone else choosing a movie.
“Stop being so mistrustful.” Ziva shoved him the bowl of popcorn into his lap, feeling slightly annoyed as she had heard the exact same question for umpteenth time this day.
She sat down next to him and pushed the play button. Tony just opened his mouth wide as the opening credits for The Little Prince movie began to play. Then his lips formed into a grateful smile as Ziva squeezed his hand.
(3) Heart
“With this ring I thee wed and I give you my heart under your guardianship. I cannot imagine any other person suitable for this job than you, my love. You may have not always treated it well, but it has belonged to you since the first moment we have met. And there is so little I can do it about it, that is why I am giving it to you to take care of it as I know that I can trust you with my life. I love you with all my heart, body and soul and I will spend the rest of my life by proving you that.”
There have been silent tears at Ziva's eyes at first, then sob escaped from her lips. She has never heard such a beautiful wedding vow. And being the bride, it had been twice emotional. Her soon-to-be husband slightly caressed her face, wiping away the tear in a way only Tony DiNozzo could.
(4)  Bug
“Bitten by a love bug, DiNozzo?” Gibbs looked at his agent inquiringly. He was unfocused, seemingly having his head in the clouds, daydreaming all the time instead of properly working. All proofed that he was head over heels in love. And judging by the ‘secret’ look between him and Ziva, he had no doubt who the lucky woman was.
(5) McGee
“Do you keep any record on how many nicknames you have already invented for McGee?” Ziva asked Tony out of sudden curiosity.
“I have no idea.” Was the answer as Tony tried to count on his fingers.
(6) Undercover
“Do you realize that we are undercover and also under the covers?” Tony said while throwing the sheets across his body and Ziva rolled her eyes. He would seriously never stop with assessing their situation of being on an undercover mission and sleeping in the same hotel room AND in the same bed as they had posed as a married couple.
“Shut up and watch the movie, DiNozzo.” She growled, trying to force the fantasy of them using this cover and these covers for entirely different kind of activity.
(7) Autopsy
“Stop laughing! I couldn't sleep because of this nightmare!” Tony exclaimed, regretting that he had ever decided to tell his co-worker about the dream he had had last night.
“Ok, so let me summarize it.” Ziva said between her occasional laughs as she tried to subdue her amusement. “Me and Jimmy had an affair and we decided to kill you by performing autopsy while you were still alive?”
“Yes, and whenever he cut me, you kissed him.” Tony flatly added while Ziva was overpowered by another wave of laughter.
(8) Gremlin
“It’s a 1984 comedy horror classic, Jimmy. I even found a plushie for you.” Tony waved the plush toy in front of the face of pale Jimmy Palmer, setting in it on the DVD cover of Gremlins movie.
“Thanks, Tony.” Jimmy said hesitantly, hoping that Tony would never come up with ‘personalized’ gifts as he called it. Ziva, who had gotten a box of paperclips, silently agreed with him.
(9) Dress
“Can I talk for a second with Ziva in private?” Tony asked Abby, the bridesmaid, anxiously. He needed to see Ziva before she would walk down the aisle and marry CIRay right in front of his eyes. She nodded in agreement and slipped out of the room, letting him to go inside.
The moment he saw the Israeli bride, all words left him. Her wedding dress was the definition of beauty. The rich fluffy skirt, the lacy bodice hugging her curves perfectly, the perfect cleavage showing just enough of her natural treasures, the sequins, pearls and other decent decorations, the long veil waiting for her to place it into her hair – she looked like a Disney princess.
And in that moment he forgot all of his prepared speech about his true feelings for her. He realized that all he wanted for her was to be happy. Even if he wasn’t the man with whom she would spend the rest of her life with.
(10) Smash
Sound of breaking glass as she smashed everything made out of transparent material against the wall. Hebrew curses. More sounds of things being thrown in many directions. Thuds. Anger of losing a loved one, the person she loved the most on this world, prevailing over any other rational thought. All that was left was remorse. Wrath. Sadness. The second stage of grief over the loss of her husband Tony has just begun.
(11) Abby
Abby persistently pushed the elevator button down in her floor, wondering why the hell the elevator just wouldn’t move. She had important results to show to Gibbs and considering his injuries from the previous case, she didn’t want him to trudge to her lab. When the elevator finally arrived to her floor and the door opened, she found herself face to face with Tony and Ziva whose reddened cheeks were telling enough. Abby slowly smiled, no longer annoyed. Her suspicions were confirmed. Those two were making out in the elevator!
(12) Language
“How many languages do you even speak?” Tony wiped his eyebrow that got wet under the drops of sweat on his forehead. He was getting too old for such quick running. He was no Usain Bolt. Yet, he was forced to start dashing when Ziva had uttered apparently pretty vulgar remark towards the man they had been speaking to. It was better to run than to involve in a fight with a bunch of the man’s friends who appeared out of nowhere.
“It doesn’t matter, as long as I speak with the language of love.” Ziva replied, pressing her lips on his, stealing his breath away.
(13) Boss
“Are you saying that I’m supposed to be boss now, boss?” Tony asked incredulously, watching the older man in front of him. Gibbs’ retirement was something he expected to happen one day, but still dreaded it in the same time.
“You’re competent enough for that job, DiNozzo.” Gibbs squeezed his shoulder, expressing confidence in his successor.
(14) Phone
“Tell me, what are you wearing?” Tony whispered sensually into the receiver, his legs propped up against his desk. He was alone in the darkened office, ruining his back over the pile of paperwork.
“I’m not having phone sex with you, Tony.” Ziva refused and ended the call, throwing her phone on the couch in her apartment. She stared at it for a moment, biting her thumb in contemplation.
Half a minute later, the phone in the NCIS bullpen on the desk of Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo rang.
(15) Investigation
Tony stared at the file in front of him. He refused to believe that the investigation was over. Well, over... It was seized. Suspended. Listed as unsolved. When you have no witnesses, no cameras, no traces of tires, simply nothing to hold on to, you can hardly investigate a crime. And yet, Tony felt that he hadn’t done enough. His father was killed. Ran over by a car in the middle of an unlit street. Nobody head heard or seen anything. No clues. No hints. No traces. No suspects. Only a victim.
A warm hand squeezed his shoulder and he was immediately grateful to have her here with him. “How could you deal with it?” He asked her as she knew the feeling of losing a father like no one else.
“The official investigation might over, Tony. But the one in your heart and your mind will never stop until you know who did it and bring him to justice.” She said in a knowing tone. “And I promise you we will find the bastard who killed him. I will personally take care of it.”
(16) Magic
Her eyes lowered and her cheeks flushed with dark crimson. The magic of Anthony DiNozzo’s smile was sometimes embarrassingly efficient and she found herself in a state when she couldn’t deny him a single thing. Maybe it had also something to do with the face she was a little bit in love with him.
(17) Explosion
The steady beeping sound of the life monitor seemed like a music to her as opposed to the terrifying sounds of the explosion she’d heard and witnessed a couple of hours ago. Tony lay in the hospital bed in barbiturate-induced coma with scratches all over his body as the shrapnel had cut into his flesh while the building he had been in had blown into pieces. She’d never felt to scared in her life. And it had awakened something in her, as well. It was different than with the members of her family who had been taken away from her too soon. They were hers, they were part of her. Tony had never belonged to her as she had been to coward to tell him how she felt about him. But she vowed, at this very moment, that if he would pull through this, she would change it as soon as she had the chance. Tony DiNozzo was about to find out the extension of her love for him.
(18) Agent
“I’m Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo, nice to meet you.” Tony introduced himself to a witness they were supposed to question in their latest case. “And this is my wife, Special Agent Ziva DiNozzo.”
(19) Paris
Ziva stood in front the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France and watched its glow as the darkness settled in. She was getting nervous, feverishly wondering whether Orli hadn’t been joking and Tony had really found her secret message in Israel where she’d informed him about couple of things that needed to be said, including where he might find her. She had suggested a place and time for their ‘date’. She couldn’t imagine any better location for their reunion. Paris was the symbol of their friendship, their love. She could never forget what had happened here a couple of years ago. Suddenly, she had a feeling that someone was watching her. When she turned around, her eyes welled up with tears as she saw her daughter she’d missed so much over the last few weeks in the arms of the man she loved more than herself.
(20) Wedding
She walked down the aisle on her wedding day and observed the faces of the people she loved dearly and who came here to celebrate her and Tony’s happiness with them. For a moment, she had doubts about being able to go through this but in the end, it seemed as a piece of cake. When you marry a man who had crossed the world twice for you to find you, defying all orders and rules, you just know that he is the right one. And there’s nothing easier than seal the mutual love in front of those who had witness their hardships and supported them in their hard times.
(21) Father
“There’s something I want to talk to you about, Gibbs.” Ziva started, feeling more nervous than ever in her life. “You are probably the closest thing I’ve had to a father. Especially after my coming to the United States. You somehow filled the void in my heart that was left there after my parents divorced. And considering my own father is now dead and the wedding is just around the corner, I wanted to ask you... Will you give me away?”
Gibbs approached her and kissed her on her cheek. “It’ll be my honour, Ziver.”
(22) Family
“With this ring I thee wed and I fully accept you as part of me. You once told me that family is more than blood. That it’s something I build around myself. My friends. People I trust. And people I unconditionally love. I couldn’t ever imagine how right you were. You are the one I unconditionally love. You are the one I trust with my life, my heart and my soul. You are my dearest friend. You are my family. And I will do everything to preserve it until the end of time and beyond that.”
Ziva’s quivering voice as she recited her vow had almost caused a heart attack to Tony. This was really a wedding of their dreams. And he was marrying the woman he loved the most. He was the luckiest guy on this planet.
(23) Friend
“Well, that’s the problem, Ziva.” Tony countered to her words, “I can’t be friends with you anymore. My heart just can’t accept it. Not when it knows it has a chance.”
Ziva stood in front of him, running out of words. That was not how she’d imagined their conversation, how she would tell him that he needed to be patient as she was in a hard place and she had to be careful while making her decisions. She couldn’t mindlessly enter a relationship with him, but he couldn’t and didn’t want to understand it.
He turned away from her and started to walk away. That was end of their friendship and practically everything between them. He couldn’t continue in being friendly to her when all he was thinking about constantly was to show her how much he loved her.
He was more than surprised, then, when her hand reached for his arm, turned him back to her and her lips crashed on his in a passionate way that made him lose his mind. That certainly wasn’t a kiss between friends.
(24) Daughter
“How are you going to name her?” Abby asked as she held the newborn daughter of her friends in her hands, while McGee stood behind her back, gushing over the baby’s cuteness just as her.
Tony looked at exhausted, yet smiling and incredibly happy Ziva. “Tali.” They both answered in unison.
(25) Gibbs
“Hell, it’s about time.” Gibbs uttered, seeing his two agents breaking the Rule 12 right in front of his eyes. (This is sort of a honour of a character named Tychus from Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty video game. I just can’t get the sentence out of my head, always imagining Gibbs saying it.)

Frozen Follows -2015 (warning: Not that good, Cheesy as hell)
Within the past 5 or so months, I came to a few odd revelations. The first is that the movie frozen is following me and stalking me. Just about every day I see something pertaining to frozen. It might be a cardboard standee in a store window that I see when i’m eating lunch, or its on the shirt of the girl in-front of me getting off the train, or I see 1000 random pieces of merchandise at whatever store I'm at. No matter where I go, Frozen will always find me, somehow, haunting me. It’s a horrible curse, but it’s also kind of a good thing. The other thing is that I have a crazy love obsession with Anna from frozen. I don't know exactly why, but I do, and its kind of weird. Sometimes she is all I ever think about. I would cry many sleepless nights wishing she was here with me, while I would fall asleep happy with her in my thoughts. Again, kind of weird. So every time I see frozen anything i both smile and cringe at the same time. And Sometimes I just cant take it, and drives me insane. But as of recently it isn't as bad, mainly do to a dream I had. About a few weeks ago I Went to bed with Anna on my mind. I soon fall asleep, but then I wake up on a bridge outside the city of Arendelle, the home of Princess Anna and Queen Elsa in Frozen. It’s afternoon, and Im wearing skinny jeans, a fancy long sleeve shirt, with a pocket in the front and i have my Darth Vader vans on my feet. I feel something in my pocket, I take it out, and it’s an
invitation to a dinner party/dance/Disney higher ups gathering thing at Queen Elsa’s castle in 20 minutes from now, with a personal note and signature by Anna. The note from anna also mentions something about disney executives. But then before I can react, the merchant from resident evil 4 comes up to me, and says:“Welcome, I’ve got a selection of good things on sale today, stranger. So, what are you buying?” The merchant proceeds to open up the left side of his coat, Revealing A plethora of Official Frozen merchandise. Dolls, clothes, school and office supplies, DVD’s, CD’s, kitchen ware, this guys got it all. I tell him I don't want anything. But before I can start to run towards the castle, he stops me and says“ I’ve got some rare things on sale, stranger.” He then opens up the right side of his coat, Revealing even more frozen merchandise, and some other random crap. While quickly scanning my eyes through his selection, and I notice the Batman watch that I got at GameStop and wear all the time in real life. I ask him how much, and he says “5 Dollars, stranger.” I pay him the money. He asks “ Is that all, stranger?”, I say yes, and he responds with “ He he he he, thank you.” I respond with “Yeah, sure, whatever” as I'm running off towards the castle, frantically putting my watch on. While I’m running through the town, I see everyone wearing frozen shirts, jackets, hats, dresses, backpacks, etc. The town is also littered with stores that only sell Frozen merchandise. When I start to get closer to the castle I see Anna greeting a small group of people, some executive types. Once they head inside, she sees me, then waves for
me and calls my name. I finally reach the castle, and ultimately Anna, the love of my life. I tell her hi, and ask her hows it going. She says its great, and she's been excited for this dinner party for days, and is super glad to see me. I ask her if Kristof is coming, since i don't know what our relationship is like here. she says “ no, don't you remember what i told you the other day? I said that A: Kristof is out adventuring or whatever, and B: were just friends, which was when you made your move and we started being more than friends”. “Oh yeah.” I awkwardly reply. Then quickly respond with “Sorry, my brain farted earlier.” She laughs, then we go inside, holding hands. I ask her about the Disney executives thing, and she says that they’re having meeting about the franchise with Elsa and that I can stay. I say sure, why not. We hang out talk, and dance at the party until the dinner/meeting starts. As we find our seats as I grab 2 pieces of cheese and 2 crackers from a cheese and crackers plate a waiter had when I passed by him.I pull her chair out for her, and she sits, then i sit. I take my piece of cheese and give Anna the other cheese and the 2 crackers, which she proceeds to make a mini sandwich with. She eats it, thanks me, then kisses me on the cheek. Then 2 servants come out and announce the queen’s arrival to the dinning hall. We all stand and clap for queen Elsa, then sit back down. She welcomes everyone to the castle, among other things. I zone out for a bit but Anna snaps me back to “reality.” I start to listen, and i find out the main guests are Legit actually THE Disney executives, as in the people who own and run
Disney. They start to talk about Frozen 2, the Frozen broadway show, Random Disney theme park stuff like meet n greets, possible rides and shows, etc. The conversation changes from disneyland stuff to merchandising and other media, like books, video games, etc.. They start bringing out the presentation stuff, complete with pointing stick. They start to talk about revenue, demographics, transmedia crap. Anna and I are both bored out of our minds. Then they quickly start to talk about what kinds of new merchandise with Anna and Elsa on it that they can crap out to the masses of frozen fans. They don’t stop, And it gets so crazy, i think that they’re trying to make Anna and Elsa look like big, greedy sell outs. “We can put your Faces on anything and people will buy up all of this crap!” says the guy with the pointing stick. Elsa tries to change the subject to something else, like frozen dolls with better looking faces. They ignore her and keep talking about having every kind of product with their faces and the films logo on it, so frozen can be sold anywhere to anyone. Elsa is getting worried this and says “we don't need that much more merchandise”. They ignore her again, and she gets pissed, and responds with “Stop trying to whore out the image of my sister and I!”. But then the head exec, gets up, and he looks a hell of a lot like senator Armstrong from metal gear rising, both physically and facially, except with more hair, and its grey. He tells her “SHUT UP, YOU HAVE NO SAY, WE OWN YOU!!!!” Anna has had it tells the exec “YOU CAN’T TALK TO THE QUEEN LIKE THAT!!” The exec Shouts “SHUT THE HELL UP, WE OWN YOU
TOO!!” So by now I’ve had enough of this rich douchebag’s shit. I stand up and yell “YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TALK TO EITHER OFF THEM LIKE THAT, DICKHEAD!!” He growls “ WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO BE?!?!? YOUR OBLIVIOUSLY NOT KRISTOF, SO DONT GET SO FRIENDLY WITH OUR OTHER FEMALE LEAD YOU LITTLE SHIT!” I Start to Retaliate with “ I JUST SO HAPPEN TO BE HER REAL BOYFRIEND, and end with “FUCK YOU MR. BURNS”. He then threatens us with his moon sized battle station up in space, the death star, and that he could “WIPE THIS SHITHOLE COUNTRY OFF THIS GOD FORSAKEN PLANET, BECAUSE DISNEY CONTROLS THE WORLD MOTHER FUCKER, SO WATCH YOUR MOUTH.” Then what I said Finally hits him, that Anna and Kritsof aren't a couple anymore, because she’s with me, ruining their marketing and a bunch of other shit all at once. He then gets Furious, starts storming towards me. Elsa has had ENOUGH, and starts to takes action and gets ready to freeze him, but he came prepared. As soon as feels the room get a little cold, he pulls out a remote with a single button. When he presses it, Elsa’s powers just don't work anymore. How?!?! I Don't really know. But then he heads towards Elsa instead, with Anna running over to protect her sister. She steps in front of elsa to protect her, but takes a mean pimp slap in the face for both breaking up with Kristof, and defying the grand master CEO of Disney as he calls himself. I just snap, and I dart over to the mother fucker and jump kick his burly ass. He stumbles back and drops the remote. I
quickly grab it, push the button, then smash the damn thing. Elsa gets her powers back, then immediately freezes the other executives sitting at the table. I go help Anna up, and she starts crying on my shoulder. She tells me to kick his ass to kingdom come. I tell her I will, Despite Knowing that I will probably loose. So “Armstrong”, as i decided to call him, starts running outside, so Elsa sends her guards after him. I tell Anna that I have to go, But as soon as i start to run after him, she grabs my arm and pulls me towards her, and we kiss very passionately for about 7 seconds. She then tells me to check the first closet to the right on the way out. I tell her she’s the best, and we say our goodbyes really quickly, as I run off. I check the first closet on the right, and i find a small case. I open it up and I find a lightsaber. I turn it on, and it turns out to be Kylo Ren’s lightsaber from Star Wars Episode VII, the one with the 2 smaller blades that come out to make a cross guard. I turn it back off, and run AS FAST AS I FUCKING CAN into the setting sun. I make it outside the town just in time to see the guards prevent Armstrong from escaping in his space limo, at least that’s what his vehicle looked like to me. I run through the guards to confront this mother fucker. He says that I’m “a fool to challenge the Disney empire!! You will suffer greatly for this.” He then pulls out his Darth Vader lightsaber. I pull out my Kylo Ren Lightsaber. When the cross guard comes out, I actually see fear in his eyes for the first time in forever as his evil smile quickly fades away. We have a extremely quick duel before I cut off his hands with the cross guard. I then cut off
his left arm. I then stab him in the heart shouting “THIS IS FOR ANNA!!”. I press the blade further and yell “AND THIS IS MY SANITY!!!” As his corpse falls to the ground i take the keys to his space limo or whatever it is, and decide to sell it to merchant if I see him again. Then I start to walk back the castle, and As soon as I see Anna Running towards me, I collapse to the ground on my knees. Then She then runs as fast as humanly possible, WhenI look back, I see that Armstrong didn't die just yet and shot me with his pistol, so I stumble back on my feet and cut his god damn head off with the lightsaber. I fall again, but anna catches me. I tell her I love her, and that I will always love her. We kiss, then I pass out, or possibly die in her arms, I'm not sure which. That’s when I Wake up and I'm in bed, and realize that it was a dream. I'm a little saddened by this fact, but get over it rather quickly. So i’m officially awake, but before i get out of bed i grab my phone and download a picture of Anna in her green dress from the end of frozen that she was wearing in my dream. After that moment, I didn't see frozen as much in the world around me as much any more. My love obsession with anna got better, as it didn't take up all of my personal life like it used to. My life got a little less weird because of this dream as a hole, and I also got excited for frozen 2. I still hope one day I can return to that world in my dreams to see Anna Again, to tell her that I lover her.

11 NEW TO BLU-RAY/DVD
"The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai" "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure"
The steelbook phenomenon has been an interesting one to watch, as films that diehard fans already own are re-released in collectible, exclusive, limited edition packaging. Personally, I'm a big fan of keeping physical media in existence and so anything that helps is good by me, especially when they're a pair of movies this fun. I'm a huge fan of Bill and Ted, and the news of a potential third movie should hopefully rekindle interest in the first two, especially the timeless original. The steelbook packaging (right) is gorgeous, and all of the previous special features have been imported. You should watch "Excellent Adventure" again. It's funnier than you remember. And let's go collect steelbooks if it keeps physical media alive!

"Beyond the Hills" (Criterion) "Graduation" (Criterion)
Criterion's timing of new releases is always interesting. They don't pay attention to the theatrical market as much as some other studios, who commonly release special editions timed to new sequels or major projects from the same stars. But it does feel like May's releases have been slightly timed to something with which Criterion collectors are probably familiar, the Cannes Film Festival. Take for example, this pair of Cristian Mungiu films that premiered at the most famous film event in the world. Mungiu has been a darling of Cannes for the new century, winning the Palme in 2007 for "4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days," Best Screenplay for "Beyond the Hills" in 2012, and Best Director for "Graduation" in 2016. The latter two are now available in sturdy Criterion editions, including special features and fantastic critical essays. Mungiu is one of the more essential filmmakers of his era, and it's nice to see Criterion keeping up with his work as it's released, creating essential editions for any Blu-ray library.

"Black Panther"
Will "Black Panther" be the first Marvel movie nominated for Best Picture? It's very possible, but whether it is or isn't, it has already become one of the most important films of 2018. Not only did critics fall head over heels for what is aruably the best MCU movie, but it also made a fortune, captivating audiences around the world to the tune of over $1.3 billion worldwide, top ten all time. To call "Black Panther" a smash hit seems inadequate. It's a movement. It's a phenomenon. And it's a great film. And Disney/Marvel has granted one of their biggest film an expectedly lavish Blu-ray treatment, complete with deleted scenes and hours of details on the making of the film. It's one of the biggest films of 2018, and it's been given a matching Blu-ray treatment.

"Early Man"
There are few film critics on Earth who love Aardman Animation as much as this one, but I was pretty mixed on their latest offering, a comedy about the collision between the Stone and Bronze Age. I don't just love the classics like "Wallace and Gromit" and "Chicken Run," but I'll go to bat for "Flushed Away" and "Pirates!" But the new one, while having its moments of inspired Aardman physical humor, feels shockingly thin and less ambitious than the humor that made them famous. It's more of a short film stretched to barely feature running time. Having said that, it's a perfectly serviceable family flick and certainly a better way to keep your kids occupied than a lot of garbage in the animated genre. You could do a lot worse. But most Aardman is usually better.

"A Fantastic Woman"
The ascendancy of Sebastian Lelio's "A Fantastic Woman" to such a place of critical prominence that it won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film was somewhat shocking. Sony Pictures Classics has always been a major player in that category, but I didn't see voters connecting with this story as much as they did (I expected "Loveless" or "Foxtrot" to win the prize). I think history will note the success of this film, the story of a trans woman's journey after the death of her lover, spurned by his family in her attempts to mourn. It's a powerful drama, anchored by Lelio's sensitive direction and a truly breakthrough performance by Daniela Vega, who should have been in the acting races for the Academy more than she was. One step at a time, I suppose.

"Game Night"
There are so many things to like about "Game Night," the clever comedy starring a perfectly-cast Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams as that couple you know that always takes game night with friends a little too competitively. When Bateman's brother, played by Kyle Chandler, initiates a murder mystery game to one-up his bro, it starts to get hazy as to what's a game and what's not. There are so many little things this comedy does right. It doesn't fall back on gross-out humor. It lets its couple act like actual couples. A lesser film would split up Bateman and McAdams instead of allowing them to work together. And it's perfectly cast down to even its minor roles. Although McAdams walks away with the movie, reminding us she has killer comic timing too.

"Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters" (Criterion)
As Paul Schrader's brilliant "First Reformed" is getting rapturous praise in theaters, Criterion digs into the vault and gives the 4k HD upgrade to what was arguably his best film as a director before his latest, "Mishima," presented with some spectacular special features. It's interesting to watch this unconventional biopic (which Roger included in his Great Movies) in light of "Reformed" as they share some similar themes and structure. Sure, "First" isn't as fragmented as this brilliant film but it's also a piece that relies heavily on narration, often over a man alone in a room (as Roger pointed out, a Schrader motif). The Criterion release is packed with great supplemental material, especially a fantastic commentary with Schrader himself and producer Alan Poul. Most of all, the movie itself looks GORGEOUS.

Special Features New, restored 4K digital transfer of the director’s cut, supervised and approved by director Paul Schrader and cinematographer John Bailey, with 2.0 surround DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack on the Blu-ray Two alternate English narrations, including one by actor Roy Scheider Audio commentary from 2006 featuring Schrader and producer Alan Poul Interviews from 2007 and 2008 with Bailey, producers Tom Luddy and Mata Yamamoto, composer Philip Glass, and production designer Eiko Ishioka Interviews from 2008 with Yukio Mishima biographer John Nathan and friend Donald Richie Audio interview from 2008 with coscreenwriter Chieko Schrader Interview excerpt from 1966 featuring Mishima talking about writing The Strange Case of Yukio Mishima, a documentary from 1985 about the author Trailer PLUS: A booklet featuring an essay by critic Kevin Jackson, a piece on the film’s censorship in Japan, and photographs of Ishioka’s sets
"The Other Side of Hope" (Criterion)
The thematicaly tied month for Criterion continues with another major fest premiere (this one from Berlin), the latest from the fantastic Aki Kaurismaki, whose dry sense of humor and deep humanism blend perfectly in this tale of an immigrant who finds sanctuary with a restaurant owner and his staff. This is a gentle, sweet little film that builds a surprisingly strong degree of emotional power and political statement by its final act. Criterion has a pattern of releasing more current foreign art house hits, often from IFC or Sundance Selects, and have sometimes taken criticism over some of the choices made in that department. No such criticism could be levied here. This is an excellent film that not nearly enough people saw when it was released. Make up for that now.

"Red Sparrow"
The latest Jennifer Lawrence spy drama is such an unusual film in that it's MUCH darker than your average multiplex blockbuster fare and yet also has that sheen of Hollywood product that sometimes holds it back from greatness. You should be warned though that this is a violent, brutal film, featuring more than one sequence of rape and torture, and that it runs over 140 minutes. Those are not the kind of elements that Hollywood studios usually allow into their blockbuster star vehicles. And so I'm tempted to give "Red Sparrow" a bit more of a pass than some other critics just because of the risks it takes. Still, it's an often unpleasant experience. You've been warned.
