months had passed since sunghoon and wonyoung were officially dating.
and from then on, him and y/n haven’t been the same. she’s kept a clear distance in everything, ensuring that girl code was still relevant for his girlfriend.
wonyoung was thankful for it. she didn’t need to worry about the usual girl friend waiting for the perfect moment to seize the guy.
in fact, y/n steered clear of the couple so much that sunghoon and her didn’t even talk on the daily basis anymore.
no more constant texts. no more late night calls. no more stupid inside jokes.
they’d all now been reserved for wonyoung..
and jay.
ever since the girl accidentally bursted into tears in front of him, they’ve gotten slightly closer.
and being the gentleman his parents raised him to be, jay always ensured she was okay before her class started by walking her there every day — even if his classes were across campus.
he was a change from sunghoon.
usually, hoon would tease and make fun of y/n, but with jay, he was sweet and gentle — careful, almost, with how he treated her.
it was definitely something she’d have to adjust to but she didn’t mind. the 5’11 boy was comforting to her in every way.
but even then, she did kind of miss sunghoon. he just always got her, and she always got him. it seemed like he didn’t mind the change either though, as long as he was with wonyoung, he was okay.
because he wasn’t y/n’s. he was never to begin with.

“hey,” ji-woo snapped her fingers at y/n, who instantly shot her head up.
“hm?”
“girl are you okay? you keep spacing out..,”
y/n groaned out a sigh before planting her head on min-su’s shoulder. “i’m fine.., i’m just really tired from the last minute study session i had with jay yesterday.”
“you guys studied again?” she heard min-su muffle on the side.
“yeah, he asked so i just went along with it.”
the atmosphere became quiet after her words processed to everyone. “what..?” she asked with shifting eyes.
“doesn’t jay usually hate study sessions?” dae mumbled.
“yeah but he really needed help on his assignment, and i just happened to be there.”
the boy shifted his gaze to ji-woo once more, allowing y/n to catch on and glance at min-su with a — ‘the hell are they doing?’ — kind of look, just for her friend to snort out a laugh.
“don’t look at me, i’ve been with hee since last night.” min-su defended.
y/n nodded before looking at the other two. “why do you guys keep looking at each other like that?”
“um well.., don’t you think it’s a little suspicious that jay wanted to do a study session when he hates them?” ji-woo murmured.
“no.. we’re friends with him, he’d ask any one of us for help.”
dae grumbled a sigh of slight irritation before replying, “yeah but he asked you, y/n, when it’s been almost two years since you took that class.”
“mhm.. and didn’t you say you were kind of getting over sunghoon?” jake’s girl interrogated once more.
y/n sighed, shaking her head at her friends. min-su, who quickly caught on, spoke — “alright alright that’s enough, let her get some rest before her class starts.”
the group went on to talk about something else as y/n stayed stuck on ji-woo’s words. it was true that she was getting slightly over her crush, but that was only because she basically never saw him as much as she used to.
he was still in the friend group, but he just never felt present in her eyes anymore. the only thing they’d exchange would be a soft laugh when somebody joked, but other than that, the relationship was gone.
maybe she just missed how it was, or maybe she just missed him and his homely presence.
“y/n?? did you even hear us?” dae snapped with furrowed brows.
she lost her train of thought as she looked over to jungwon’s boyfriend, who continued to wear a worried look. “sorry.. i got distracted, what?” she murmured.
“we’re gonna go out with our men this weekend, just to a farmers market and walk around. wanna come with us? we miss you..,” ji-woo chimed in with hopeful eyes.
“i’m right here…,” the girl attempted to joke, causing light giggles to go around in the circle.
“girl we haven’t properly seen you in weeks. you’re either studying at home or you’re with jay somewhere.” min-su added in.
y/n’s stomach randomly dropped at the statement of being with jay elsewhere. her heartbeats were getting slightly heavier and her fingers were fidgeting with each other. she knew this feeling. she knew it a little too well.
“i’m not always with jay..,” she tried to deflect.
dae giggled at her state. “i swear whenever i see you on campus, jay’s beside you.”
“he’s just a comforting friend..,”
“yeah so bring him when we go out this weekend!” jake’s girlfriend beamed with a plastered grin.
it was obvious that the group was trying to get her mind off of hoon now that he was with wonyoung, but y/n had to admit, it was strange. she used to always have her ears be filled with mumbling words from them of how her and her favorite boy would get together soon.
but it was gone. that moment was gone now, and she didn’t know whether to be glad or ashamed that she was moving on a little too quick.
so instead, the girl just whipped her head to her friend. “what, so him and i could 7th wheel you three?” she shot, head already shaking in disagreement.
“well if you bring him then it won’t be 7th wheeling!” dae attempted to reason.
“is this really your guys’ way of convincing me to go when i won’t have fun?”
“what won’t be fun?” niki’s voice suddenly boomed from min-su’s behind.
y/n groaned as she found a few members taking the empty seats around the table, jay voluntarily sitting next to her. “they’re trying to make me 7th wheel on saturday, i should say no right?”
the maknae snorted out a laugh before placing his elbow onto her shoulder. “they’re really gonna torture you like that?” he mumbled in a snicker.
“right! that’s what i’m saying!”
jay chuckled, dusting niki’s arm off of his friend’s shoulder as he uttered, “why would they do that?”
“we’re trying to make her go out more!” ji-woo panned with an eye roll, causing jake to holler out laughs as he responded, “love, is it really the best way to have her go out with couples after spending weeks to get comfortable around sunghoon and wonyoung?”
“he’s got a point, babe.” jungwon commented, looking directly in dae’s eyes with sparkles. “she’ll still have fun though!” the boy tried to defend, avoiding his favorite boy’s features.
“heeseung’s not even here to make it worst but all this couple stuff with just those two is making me sick. how will i survive it being three couples?” y/n gagged, body shaking in horror.
the handsome male beside her chuckled as he gave a soft ruffle to her hair. “good luck with that, text me if you get bored.” jay suggested.
there it was again. the nervous bubbles fuming in her stomach, the eye pupils dilating after meeting eye contact. it was happening.
“don’t be surprised if your phone gets filled with my text messages.” y/n joked back, hoping that he didn’t see through her.
the male probably would’ve if sunghoon hadn’t just entered in with wonyoung linked beside one of his arms.
“who’s getting spammed?” hoon tried to beam in while taking a seat across from his old friend.
he instantly locked eyes with her but she tore her gaze away, looking at ji-woo instead. “they’re trying to make me go somewhere with them,” y/n said, trying to ignore the obvious awkward tension.
ji-woo wore a half smile as she squeezed her boyfriend’s hands out of instinct. “she should go right?” she asked to sunghoon.
the male only nodded, and y/n wasn’t sure if anyone else caught on but she found him holding back a joke that he’d usually make if they were still close.
ouch.
her head lowered once she felt her heart grip on a little tighter in her chest, each vein tingling in despair.
“you should go, y/n, you never want to go out anywhere,” she heard him say. those words were the first thing he’s ever said to her in months. and again, it was strange.
he’d usually say something along the lines of — “don’t go out, let’s just stay at my place and we’ll study” — but he wasn’t there for her anymore.
immediately, the poor girl was then reminded of the times when it’d just be the two hanging with each other. no one else, but them.
they were introverts, but they were extroverts when they were together. when one wasn’t feeling it, the other would be there just to be a comforting presence.
tears filled her eyes as she bit her lips from holding them in. it felt stupid to tear up about something like this, but she couldn’t help it. they didn’t talk anymore, and sunghoon seemed completely fine with it.
y/n was too, but she just needed time to adjust. after all, he did nothing wrong.
as she remained quiet, she felt jay nudge her with his elbow, causing her to look at him with confused eyes.
the male shifted his attention to her and watched how her beautifully glistened eyes emphasized her thoughts. he only raised his brows though, gesturing that she should respond back.
“i don’t know yet. i’m still debating,” she tried to laugh off.
once again, she avoided eye contact with sunghoon, turning to look at dae and min-su instead.
“hoonie’s right, you should go! it’ll be fun especially after working so hard, y/n!” wonyoung chimed in with a sweet smile.
‘hoonie..,’ y/n thought. ‘his nickname..,’
she looked up to the pretty girl and grinned back. in her peripheral vision, she could see the scattered exchanges from min-su to ji-woo, and then ji-woo to dae, and then dae to jungwon, and so forth.
did it hurt that she heard somebody else call him hoonie? sure, but she wasn’t gonna rampage about it.
he wasn’t hers to be acting like that in the first place.
“you’re right, wonyoung. i should go huh??” the girl immediately beamed back, causing wonyoung to agree in a charming manner. she was so gorgeous.
as the conversation continued out and others began talking as well, y/n constantly found herself looking at how hoon stayed attentive on his girlfriend. he was still that same caring boy, just not to her anymore.
“stop staring, they might catch on.” a small whisper lingered in her ear, evidently being jay’s who only chuckled afterward.
she sent a light smack to his arm. “shut up, i’m not staring that much.”
“you’re staring enough,” he joked back, letting his fingers softly nudge her cheeks.
the girl rolled her eyes as jay continued to brightly smile alongside her. “there’s too many couples here,” she mumbled to him, letting her attention stay on each couple coiled up against each other.
“i agree, wanna get out of here?”
she whipped her head in an instant. “yes please!” she harshly whispered back, causing a satisfied grin to be worn on him. “i just have to go to the restroom first.”
jay dramatically sighed — “it’s always the restroom first.”
“shut up!” y/n yelled back, giving a ruthless hit to the arm.
she swore though, that when she got up from her seat, she saw hoon flicker his gaze to her and jay. it was most likely what she wasn’t thinking, but she still caught onto it.
“actually, we’re gonna go too, wonyoung has class soon and i wanna make sure she gets there on time.” sunghoon suddenly spurted out, allowing the two to stand up as well.
the group nodded as the couple took their departure, while niki and sunoo left to their classes, leaving y/n and her three closest friends to run off to the restroom together.
as they left, jay couldn’t help but watch her disappear in his sight. something about her just eased him.
his gaze softened and he found himself smiling without even realizing it. was it happening to him too?
his heart was beating and his breathing was getting heavy at the mere thought of his friend, y/n.
“you really like her, don’t you?” jungwon immediately chimed in with a wiggle in his brows.
jay jokingly scoffed as he laughed. “i don’t like her,” he murmured. “she’s just a friend.”
“yeah a really GOOD friend,” jake added in as well, patting his friend’s back while chuckling.
as jay was about to give another remark, heeseung intruded in — “who are we talking about?”
“y/n and jay.”
“oh that he likes her?” he teased, catching on right away.
“i don’t like her,” the boy grumbled. “we’ve just gotten closer, that’s it.”
“jay.. just admit it,” one of the boys uttered.
“she’s a friend i’ve been comforting since she’s still trying to get over sunghoon, our other friend.”
jake guffawed out a laugh as he murmured, “dude, you’re so bad at lying. she’s starting to get over him because of you anyway.”
jay’s head shot up. “really?” his heart was rapidly racing now, was he really the reason why she was beginning to move on and no longer hurt?
his lips curled into a small grin as he dumbly smiled to himself.
“you definitely like her,” the oldest of them all teased.
jay shot a glare towards him before sighing in defeat. “i don’t like her but .. she’s nice to be around.” a pink tint began to hit his cheeks as he thought about y/n again.
the three boys snickered to themselves as they patted him on the back. “congrats bro, you’re in love,” jake mumbled.
while the four continued to converse, dae and the girls came back soon afterward.
“you still wanna leave?” jay asked, eyes coming into a sparkling haze.
y/n gulped. he was so handsome, and she could just stare at him all day. “yeah,” she cleared her throat. “let’s go, i have class soon.”
as she gathered her things, she found jungwon raising his brows towards jay, only to earn a downturned smile from him.
“let’s leave these people alone,” he grumbled before pulling her away.

as the two walked around campus, wasting time, their hands constantly bumped against each others. the lingering jay had just to tangle his fingers with hers was crowding his thoughts. he just wanted to know what it was like, to experience it with her at least once.
“i like her..,” he quietly confirmed to himself. “i do…,”
“what was that, jay?” y/n looked up at him with a half smile.
“ah.. nothing. so you’re going with them on the weekend?”
“i kind of don’t want to.., should i just stay home?” she mumbled.
jay chuckled before wrapping his arm around her shoulder. “you should go, it’ll be fun!”
the change from jay and sunghoon was again, too easy to catch on, but y/n ignored it this time.
“wanna go with me??” she suddenly asked with pleading eyes.
the male’s heart stopped for a second. “you want me to go with you..?” he slowly repeated.
“mhm, go with me! so i won’t be alone.. please, jay!”
he softly chuckled as the two stopped in their tracks. “why don’t you ask niki?”
“jay.. come on, we’re closer, it’ll be more fun!”
his heart thumped, and he harshly gulped down every nerve in his body. “y/n..,”
“jay…,” she scowled back with a teasing smile. “come on!”
“you’re just gonna keep asking, aren’t you?”
“yeah so you should just say yes!”
the boy sighed to himself before finally giving in. “fine.. i’ll go.”
y/n jumped up and down in glee, hitting his arms as she yelled, “yay! i won’t be a 7th wheeler!”
jay watched her make little hops, grinning ear to ear as his pupils dilated from looking at her.
he was completely falling for her and he was okay with it. he knew she most likely still liked sunghoon though, but just for the time being, he was enjoying his personal moments with her.
. . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆
the weekend came and y/n found herself dolling up for the day sooner than she thought.
“just a day with jay.. usual stuff,” she attempted to convince herself.
as she finally checked her phone, she found text notifications from the boy.
mr. jjongtsby 🐈‍⬛:
I’m almost there, y/n
Are you reading this? I know you don’t have notifications on
I’m pulling up
y/n <33:
oh shit sorry! i’m coming out now :)
the girl rushed out of the door, giving quick goodbyes to her family members before meeting with jay.
“sorry,” she huffed. “i didn’t see your notifications until now.”
he chuckled while backing the car out. “no worries. i thought you almost forgot about our day for a second there.”
her body tensed up at his words. “our day..?”
“yeah, our day with the others.” jay mumbled, hollering out a laugh to cancel out the nervous bubble in his stomach. “ready to go through couple stuff?”
butterflies erupted in her stomach this time as she tried to play it off. “yeah.. let’s go!”
. . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆
hours had passed since jay picked her up, and they had been completely surrounded by each others presence.
the couples were together of course, always walking side by side with arms linked together — leaving jay and y/n to walk along just as friends. her friends would occasionally try to add her into the conversations, but she knew she wasn’t fit for them, especially if they were couple-related things.
“oh isn’t this cute jakey??” she’d hear her friend sickly say, letting her become disgusted from behind.
“oh it is, love! you want it? i’ll get it for you,” jake would murmur back with a smiley face.
maybe she was just a hater, but she couldn’t stand it. then she’d hear her other friend, dae go — “wonie, let’s take a picture with this!”
and that’d only allow jungwon to squish his favorite boy’s cheeks while placing a soft kiss — “okay babe, get ready for the camera,” he’d cheekily respond.
and if that wasn’t enough, she’d already find min-su simply gathered in heeseung’s arms. the boy couldn’t stop clinging himself around her as he mumbled sweet nothings to her.
it was an appalling mess, and y/n was tired of it.
“you really hate seeing them be happy?” jay chimed, teeth fully on display to show his wide grin.
she softly nudged him as she shook her head. “i don’t hate it, but it’s just a little gross…,” the girl replied.
“you signed yourself up for this, you know?”
“jay..,” y/n scowled, sending him a faint glare.
he only smiled at that before backing off. “fine fine, but you know i’m right.”
she playfully rolled her eyes, pushing his shoulder back as she walked a little slower than her friends.
“alright come on grumpy pants, let’s catch up with them.” he mumbled, dragging her away with a slight grip to the wrist.
the two caught up with everyone else who stopped at a bracelet stand.
“baby, let’s get this one.” min-su uttered to her boyfriend who was already reaching for the same purple band as her. “i already knew what color,” he whispered against her, causing a flush color to form on her cheeks.
jake turned to ji-woo as well, letting his eyes sparkle to display his puppy look before mumbling, “what about this one, love? it’s our color.” his hands held a similar pattern to the other bracelet but in green, causing his girl to excitedly squeal — “it’s so us, jake!”
while the other two couples situated themselves, dae and jungwon were already exchanging each others similarly colored bracelets — which were navy blue of course.
“wonie, this color matches us right? i wanted purple but min-su and hee already got it..,” he softly pouted.
won only grinned, making dents in his cheeks for his dimples as he replied, “of course babe. anything matches you because you’re perfect.”
y/n heard her friend giggle like crazy, and all she could do was send a stank eye that wasn’t caught on by anyone else but jay, earning a quiet chuckle from him.
perhaps if the girl was in a relationship like her friends, she’d get it, but she wasn’t. she was the last single friend left.
so as she watched her friends create core memories with their partners from behind, she scanned through each colored bracelet as well — eyes searching for a color she may find fond.
however, the only color that she could see herself wearing was the black one. it was simple, but it had its unique features sticking out to her in the best way possible.
y/n picked it up, contemplating whether or not she should get it. “no one to match with.. but it’s pretty, so i guess.” she reasoned, going to the owner to pay afterward.
it was set in her mind that no one could possibly care to match with her, but jay was willing to. the girl didn’t catch onto the fact that he was secretly observing her.
he was just being discreet, watching to see which colored bracelet she’d choose so he didn’t get the wrong one.
as soon as she picked up the black one, his hands snatched the other free bracelet, causing him to catch a glimpse of the other owner who only beamed a confused look in why he had to seize it like that.
he apologetically smiled before approaching where his new found crush was at.
“cash or card?” the owner asked.
as y/n was about to speak, jay quickly intruded in. “card, i’ll pay.” he beamed with a dazzling smile towards her.
“what?? you’re gonna pay? you don’t have to-“
“too late, it’s yours now, wear it.” jay assured back, flashing another grin before handing her the bracelet.
y/n’s heart fluttered at his kind gesture. he was just being a friend but even then, it was still doing something to her.
“thanks jay.. that was really sweet.”
the male chuckled as he wrapped his own bracelet around his wrist. “don’t mention it, you deserve to be treated this way,” he mumbled with a nervous laugh.
“i do..,” she said under her breath.
it was changing, everything was changing. the clear picture was starting to change from sunghoon and she wasn’t hating it.
. . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆
about an hour had passed and the night was soon ending for the group.
“do we have to go already?” ji-woo pouted.
“yes, love, we’re exhuasted.” jake replied, chuckling as he wrapped his arms behind her.
dae sighed on the side. “well we can always stay out just for a little longer..,”
“you know you’re tired, baby, let’s get some rest hm?” won squeezed his boyfriend’s hands, resting on his shoulder as his eyes were glued shut.
heeseung and min-su didn’t bother to chime in. the two were simply already shutting down from all the walking and constant stops.
“i’m tired too!” y/n added on. “what about you jay?”
“i’m pretty beat, but i should take you home soon.”
“now?”
“mhm, let’s go.” jay quickly confirmed, quietly acknowledging her social battery running out.
the two left with little waves of goodbyes to their friends before they reached his car.
. . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆
the car ride was quiet through it all. normally, jay loved to go through a highlighted series of what happened best today, but y/n was quiet — indicating that she’d honestly rather stay silent for the time being.
the girl was an introvert, and he was understanding of that, so he only let slow music softly boom in the car as he drove.
it was a change from his old relationships but he didn’t mind it. he knew she was the kind of girl who just wanted peace and quiet at times, and this was it.
when they finally arrived to her place, jay lowered the music and was about to turn to y/n, only to find her plopping her head against his shoulder.
“y/n..?” he tried to call in a low voice. “are you asleep?”
the male waited for a response but got none back whatsoever, allowing him to conclude that she, indeed, was knocked out.
quiet snores left her mouth as she muzzled her head further onto his shoulder. she was comfortably situated, and he loved that she could always just confide into him for that kind of thing.
“cute,” he murmured to himself, beaming a soft grin that displayed his thumping heart for her.
jay parked the car, allowing her to sleep for a few minutes before she woke up out of fear and confusion.
“we’re already here?” y/n grumbled, eyes peeking around the windshield with a groggy expression.
she heard him give a quiet laugh that immediately erupted a mount of butterflies in her stomah as he replied, “yeah but i wanted you to sleep a little, you were really tired.”
“thanks,” she sighed. “today was really fun with you.”
“back at you, get home safe okay?”
“you too,” the girl bunked her wrist against his, causing her to look down at the jingle her bracelet made with his accessory.
then she found it. the matching black bracelet he bought. her heart dropped to her stomach but in a good way.
she had basically confirmed that he was thinking of her in the way she was second guessing.
“your bracelet..?” she uttered out of instinct.
jay tensed up. the instant thought of how awkward it’d be if she didn’t feel the same quickly stole his attention. he was scared and lost, which only caused him to harshly pull his wrist away from her electrifying touch.
“yeah, i like the color,” he bluntly replied with a clear throat.
she smiled, blood rushing to her cheeks as she said, “hey it’s just like-“
“don’t you have to go home?” he harshly cut her off. regret immediately took form on his face once he realized how rude he sounded.
he hated that he was sounding like this because it wasn’t him. he was gentle and reassuring, not cold hearted.
y/n didn’t know how to react though. one minute he’s sweet, and the next he’s cruelly blunt. ‘but maybe it was just from exhaustion,’ she thought to herself before nodding, trying to seem unfazed as she only reached out for the door.
jay wanted to stop and apologize, but he also felt like a creep with getting a matching bracelet without her consent. it wasn’t creepy-like but he was just overthinking it.
as the girl waved goodbye with an attempted smile to ensure everything was okay, jay only pressed his lips into a firm line out of humiliation. he’d like to leave the scene and get rid of the embarrassing moment, but he had to make sure she got in safely.
so when she did, he instantly drove away with a head shake.
. . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆
a few weeks were now hitting the mark of when they’d gone out with the couples, and y/n wasn’t sure if it was just her, but she felt a wavering distance between her and jay.
it was panicking her. she already lost sunghoon and she now might be losing jay.
to be quite honest though, her mind was already off of hoon. she didn’t notice him as much anymore, and it was clear that her mind was beginning to render him out.
it was jay that kept her up at night now, from the late night ‘what if’s’ to the stupid sleeping scenarios. it was him, and no longer sunghoon.
it was him who was always there for her, and she realized it once he kept a distance.
she hated it. normally, she’d be the one who’d avoid but she missed talking to him. she missed how he’d light up her day just by simply being near her. she missed him.
whenever the group would sit at a table, jay never chose to sit next to her anymore. he’d either force himself next to niki or he’d just sit next to one of the couples.
‘did i do something wrong?’ she’d constantly think.
but it wasn’t her fault, not at all. jay was just too embarrassed to face her after the bracelet incident. it wasn’t that big of a deal, but he hated how he acted. so until he could normally talk to her again, he was avoiding every interaction possible.
“hey,” dae called to y/n. “are you leaving to class soon?”
“yeah, i have a few minutes left. why? you want me gone?” she joked back with a brow raise.
the boy rolled his eyes as little giggles left the others mouths. “well no, i was just asking!”
y/n laughed as well before checking her phone. “yeah just like two more minutes and then i’ll start walking.”
“you’re done at 3, right?” sunoo asked.
“yep, i’ll walk back to you guys around that time.” she checked her phone again and grumbled out a sigh. “i guess it’s time to go..,”
the girl stood up from the table and sadly waved her goodbyes.
“go with her dude,” heeseung mumbled to jay.
the younger shot his head up. “what??”
“you always walk her, why aren’t you walking her?” jake chimed in with a harsh whisper.
“it’s just a little awkward after.. you know..,”
“that doesn’t give you a reason to not make sure she’s safe though. you know you’ll still walk her,” sunoo scowled.
the boy defeatedly sighed, knowing that his friend was right before tossing his bag over his shoulder and catching up to y/n.
as she walked, she felt her bag be taken off of her shoulders, causing her to look up at the person.
“oh you’re walking me again?”
“mhm,” he only responded.
y/n pressed her lips into a thin line that highlighted the awkward tension. she didn’t know what to say since he was unresponsive, but she couldn’t have it this way.
“jay?”
“hm?”
the girl softly gripped his wrist to stop him from walking, pulling him to the side where no other students could see them.
“why can’t you look me in the eyes?” her brows were slightly furrowed now and she crossed her arms.
“what? what are you talking about?” jay attempted to deny. “i can look you in the eyes.”
what a liar.
a puff of air left her mouth as she slightly ridiculed him. he was saying that, but he wasn’t even meeting her gaze.
y/n rolled her eyes before closing the gap between them. her hands firmly held his jaw, squishing his cheeks and forcing him to lock eyes. her head tilted as she tried to figure him out. she normally wasn’t this confident in getting a man to look at her, but for jay, she had to know.
on the other hand, the male was flustered. he felt his heart doing somersaults with how abrupt she suddenly was in doing something like this. he knew she wasn’t the ‘go for it’ type of girl, so for her to have confidence like this was melting him on the spot.
“look me in the eyes, jongseong.” she murmured, causing a light laugh to burst out of him.
y/n reflected the smile back before huffing out a sigh again. “i’m serious, look me in the eyes. are you okay? what’s wrong? are you feeling sick or something?” her hands that held his cheeks immediately started feeling his forehead for a possible heat temperature.
it wasn’t doing well for jay though that his favorite girl was putting her hands around his face. his breathing was getting heavier and his sight was blurring with her soft touches.
he closed his eyes, calming himself down before holding her wrist to stop at his cheeks.
the girl cocked her head to the side again, hearing him softly sigh as he murmured, “just keep it there, it’s making me feel better” — leaving a subtle kiss at the palm of her hands.
this time, it was her heart beating like crazy now. her hands were slightly shaking, but his hold was reassuring in every way.
“so you are sick..?” she uttered, causing a gentle laugh to leave his throat.
“something like that..,”
“jay-“
“i’m sorry for avoiding you. i’m sorry, it wasn’t right of me but i was just feeling embarrassed.” he quickly communicated.
y/n’s eyes softened at his apology. “what are you sorry for? you didn’t do anything wrong.”
“it was just embarrassing that i got a matching bracelet with you without even asking,” he clarified, scratching his head with an awkward laugh.
her heart melted at his sweet manner. even when he was trying to avoid her, he couldn’t.
“you know you could’ve just asked, jongseong,” she teased. “i would’ve said yes to matching with you.”
jay beamed an apologetic smile before turning his gaze down to their feet. “i thought you wouldn’t have wanted to.. especially since…,”
“since?”
“since you still like sunghoon..,” his heart blew out a sigh at the possibility of her still liking their friend.
his attention continued to stay lowered at their feet, and y/n only watched him try to hide his soft pout away, fluttering her stomach with butterflies once more.
“jongseong..,” she called, knees bending down so she could find his gaze from below.
the male chuckled at her act before replying, “stop using my government name.”
“why not.. jongseong?” she teased back.
“what were you gonna say?” jay murmured, ignoring her teasings but secretly liking it.
y/n giggled, clearing her throat as she responded, “do you think i still like sunghoon?”
his heart dropped to his stomach again. he hated this queasy feeling but he couldn’t stop her if it was how she felt. “don’t you..?” he murmured back to her.
the girl saw how he subtly pushed himself away from her, causing her to sigh and hold his cheeks.
“i like you, jay.”
“w..what? you what?” he flustered.
y/n grinned ear to ear. “i said i like you.. jongseong.”
she felt his cheeks heat up with a tint of red, allowing him to cheekily smile in embarrassment.
“one more time,” he murmured.
she exasperated a sigh before pulling his face towards her. immediately, a soft kiss was planted onto each others lips. it was only a peck though, the girl wasn’t confident enough yet.
jay’s lips coiled into a smile as she said, “does that show it better?”
“i think we gotta try again.”
the boy crashed his lips against hers, holding her gently with one hand at the jaw and the other at the waist. his heart was melting with every second he stayed glued to her.
y/n found her hands to be in his hair, dangling itself into his silk strands that caused soft shivers down his spine.
jay smiled into the kiss, lips curling from the sweet sensations he was receiving from his girl, allowing her to smile into it as well.
once she felt out of breath, she pulled away, only to be littered with soft pecks on her lips.
“you’re gonna be late for class, you know?” he murmured against her skin.
the girl giggled before sweetly nudging his head away. “that’s okay, we can ditch again.” she uttered in reminisce.
“are we gonna do something better than study?”
“yeah, like a date?” she impulsively spoke.
jay’s ears perked up with a hue of red colored at the tips. “you’re confident right now.. i like this side of you.”
“you make me confident,” y/n replied, blood rushing to her cheeks even more.
and it was then that it hit her. she always knew why sunghoon matched wonyoung — she brought the best out of him, and now the girl had found that. she had found her match with jay.
“will you still be confident during the date?” he challenged with his infamous smirk.
“guess you’ll just have to take me out and we’ll see.”
“let’s go then.. darling.”
oh?
her heart instantly fluttered at the new name call. “darling?” she whispered, breaths getting heavy.
“cat got your tongue now?” jay murmured as he kissed her cheeks.
“shut up.. let’s go, jongseong.” she rolled her eyes, causing a deep chuckle to be heard from him.
usually, she’d call her crush ‘loser’ and even though she wasn’t in love with sunghoon anymore, it still felt unusual for her to call jay something that’d been reserved for him.
but it didn’t matter anymore. hoon was no longer on her mind.
. . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆
about a month or two had gone by and ever since then, jay and y/n were going strong together.
he still walked her to class and ensured her safety came first like he usually did, but this time, he voluntarily left to the car first so he could minimize her walking.
y/n was left alone, sitting on the cemented seat as she texted her friends.
“this seat taken?” a husk and familiar voice asked from behind.
almost instantly, her heart softly sank. it was sunghoon.
she hadn’t talked to him in months, better yet, seen him in some months. ever since she got with jay, he was just never around anymore.
“hoon?” she murmured. that nickname made both of their hearts thump.
it wasn’t in a way of loving each other, but more so of missing each other. they used to be close friends after all.
sunghoon softly grinned as she shook her head ‘no’ to his question, allowing him to sit beside her.
it was awkward. they used to be friends and now, they can’t even talk to each other.
the two were introverts, but they couldn’t find it in themselves to be extroverts with each other again.
“so you and jay?” hoon suddenly uttered.
“yeah.. we just got close after you and wonyoung started dating.”
“yeah i noticed..,”
his mumble was almost incoherent to her, but she still turned to look at him. “what?”
“nothing..,” he awkwardly chuckled. “i’m happy for you though y/n. he’s a great guy.”
“yeah he is.. but thanks —” she paused for a second, “— loser.”
sunghoon softly laughed at the familiar name call. he hadn’t heard that from her in months and it was comforting in some kind of way.
“i’m happy for you too, sunghoon. let’s try and make our relationships last,” y/n joked, causing the two to cackle out quiet laughs.
as he was about to say more, jay suddenly pulled up to the curb, hinting that it was time for her to go.
she waved hoon goodbye as she got into the car and drove off.
the male kept his gaze down once they were out of his sight. that was the most they’ve talked in months, and it’d honestly probably be the last.
he sighed as he wore a small smile. she left too soon for him to even mention how much he missed her, how much he missed everything — their jokes, their talks, their teasings.
they used to always talk about everything and be each others comfort but things were different now.
he was happy in his relationship with wonyoung, but he just missed y/n as a friend.
sunghoon let out another soft sigh while thinking back to the heartwarming memories. “miss you.. loser.” he mumbled to himself, giving a faint grin at his thoughts.
the male stayed stuck on how they used to be until a notification shifted his attention. it was a text from wonyoung, telling where she’d be and how they should meet for another study date.
he smiled before immediately texting back and leaving the scene.
and there it was.
sunghoon and y/n went their separate ways, falling in love with someone else who wasn’t their mirrored self, someone who brought the best in them.

min-woo is so funny because he's a total selfish ass who only thinks of the law as a way to get ahead in life, but also the selfish ass thing is more or less a front because the reason he wants to get ahead in life is so he has the money to support his dad, whose health is really bad. and then he's also the absolute worst to young-woo both because of the autism and because he thinks she's a nepotisim hire, but he decides at the last minute that he can't destroy her career and he's also the only person who figures out, without having to be told, why she thinks she has to break up with jun-ho. even her own boyfriend didn't figure that one out, and it's largely because jun-ho does think of her as 'my autistic girlfriend', whereas min-woo thinks of her as 'my asshole coworker, who got her job because her dad knows somebody and her mom's some other somebody, and who is also a genius, which i hate because it makes me feel like i have to work ten times harder than i already am, and who's autistic, so she doesn't even notice when i'm insulting her, which is just annoying when i want to be mean' and thus is, ironically, capable of thinking of her as a whole and entire person rather than this fragile thing who does things for nonsensical reasons . so he hears she's broken up with jun-ho on their jeju trip and is like of course it's not because she didn't get to see some dolphins! and it has nothing to do with our boss except that she learned about his divorce and sees the similarities. and she got pressured into meeting your family who were not exactly supportive. it's easy. you idiots. and then he goes back to doing his normal obnoxious thing

Things I want from Reckoning of Roku
Sozin being like, Kyoshi's number 1 hater. "God I hate that bitch. She screwed my family over for generations. Glad she's dead."
Kyoshi being a sweetheart to Roku (until she has to lay down the law at one point). And Roku just being like "????? But Sozin?? Kyoshi is so nice!"
Roku just being a big fan of Kyoshi. TT0TT Please, I need my girl to have more in-universe fans (besides Rangi and the two she holds in her hands 8U *badumshhh*)
HORSE STANCE! ("No really Kyoshi! What's the key to being a better bender????" "I told you, horse stance!")
Roku not being the best bender, BUT god damn if he doesn't have his forms down. Almost like they were imprinted on him. (please capitalize on that one Kyoshi novel line TT0TT)
Rangi mention Rangi mention Rangi mention. (Or just flying opera company mention in general)
The Dai Li not being corrupt (yet) and actually being helpful for Roku.
Kyoshi Warriors lore.
Kyoshi wingmanning Roku on how to get the ladies (aka Ta Min). "But Kyoshi, what do you know about wooing a Fire Nation gal?" "What don't I know?"
Zeisan lore! Or mention!
Same with Rioshon!
Kyoshi being like "(Back) In my day-" and Roku being like "Which one Kyoshi? You've had a lot. 230 years worth actually!"
Chin lore maybe? (I kinda hope they keep that open until we get another book actually kjasfdlj I'd rather them pull a "Oh Zuko's mom? That's a diff story for a diff time actually" approach to it) kjafdjsaf
On the same note, I hope they tease us as to why she died, but we don't get a full answer. (I really think a 3rd novel would be better imo)
Roku, or someone, disrespecting Kuruk and Kyoshi being like "YOU PUT SOME RESPECT ON HIS NAME!" TT0TT

This season was a mess
Season 1: My brother took his life and has left me his restaurant. Do I deserve this? Do I take this on? How do I navigate this grief?
Season 2: We found a shit ton of money plus uncle Jimmy is lending us more. We decide to tear down the beef and build The Bear. There is a deadline, we need to get it together, and we need to make this deadline.
Season 3: ...???? The restaurant is up and running. They are digging a bigger hole for themselves. Jimmy is broke now? Carmy is hung up on Claire. Everyone keeps bringing up Claire. Carmy and Syd have zero communication. They barely speak. Not even as friends- keep that. AS BUSINESS PARTNERS. Not once does Carmy ask why Syd hasn't signed the fucking contract that HE brought up to her. This season started off strong but wow wtf happened.
I wanna focus on two examples that I think illustrate how off this season was: I loved the standalone episodes. I cried during the Nat and Donna one. They were wonderful episodes that did not tie back into the plot because there was none. Season 2 we have a Marcus standalone right? Why did that one work whereas I feel these two didn't? (Again, I really enjoyed these episodes. This is about nothing flowing well) Because Marcus was sent to Copenhagen to become a better pastry chef. He was a cook in a sandwich place who did desserts on the side! He traveled to learn from Luca so The Bear could have a pastry chef. Woo! It all ties in.
Next, a flashback in S2 that worked. The Christmas episode. We meet their mom, Carmy brings up the restaurant idea to Mikey. We see Mikey's state of mind, we get background on Sugar's nickname/how she got it. We see how the family treats Carmy. We get a bunch of them asking Carmy if he's gonna ask Claire out. We get Richie and Tiff still together in contrast to present day Richie dealing with his ex getting a fiancé. Almost every single thing we got in this flashback related back to present day concerns. We touched so many corners. Mikey, Donna, Richie, Sugar. In ONE flashback.
Whereas, Tina's (bless her she's a doll) did nothing for the present day story. We see Tina struggle, we never get to hear the exact reason why. Does she hate this new environment? Does she wish she was just making sandwiches with Ebra? Is Carmy getting on her nerves? Sure, that could be a given but they never let her say it. We get her flashback that focuses on finding a new job, and the convo she has with Mikey. The convo is mostly about dreams, wants. I saw someone say that Tina's episode was an ode to everyone just trying to try. Not looking for a title, not competing, just trying. I agree and I love that. Why did it not relate to whatever she's going through in present day?
The rebuttal for my critiques could be, not everything has to tie in. Some things can be standalone. That's true but in my opinion... it shouldn't be done for a 40 min 10 episode show. Esp not one that tied in the flashbacks and standalone episodes in previous seasons. Why did we suddenly stop doing that this season?
This season felt aimless. Let's talk about Claire lmao when Tiff brought up Claire on that bench with Richie, I went huh??? TIFF is bringing up Claire now? WHY! I had to remind myself that she is literally a family friend they've all known for yeaaars. But me? We, the audience? We don't fucking know Claire! "She's his peace." His WHAT? When??? Stop trying to convince me of this and show me in season 1 and 2 that this woman is his peace.
If you decide to drag this Claire shit out for the entire season, oh bby, you're gonna need the audience to feel the same anguish Carmy is feeling. We should be thinking, fuck, Fak is right she is his peace because remember when she pulled him out of x y z? But at the same time they're not good for each other right now because of x y z. We have so little to go off of with these two and they made Carmy hung up on her the whole season lmaoo please.
I'll end with that, actually. You mean to tell me that the entire restaurant let Carmy act like that for months and NO ONE- not even broke ass Jimmy, told him, you need to stop. It took "Computer" coming in to get them just a little bit together? And even then? Still switching the menu, still not listening to Syd, still butting heads with Richie? You shitting me? And does Carmy know he's a fucking uncle now? DOES HE CARE? Oh fuck me this season was ass.

I want to talk about Solo Leveling (MY OPINION)
There was another post before this one, but I deleted it, and made a longer version with more explanations.
Warning: Long article (sorry)
I'm writing this in a very upset state, and I was angry moments ago, so please don't blame me (not that I really care, but I don't really want to see arguments in the comments either). This is my own opinion, and so does everyone else, I want to clarify my point of view. If you don't care, then just skip this post.
(At least I won't curse so much)
#English isn't my mother tongue#
First of all, let's talk about, how did I get to know the manhwa Solo Leveling?
A few years ago, when I was in the tenth grade, during quarantine, I was spending a lot of time on the phone, and in one of my friend’s posts, I saw pictures from that manhwa. Of course, I ignored it at first, and therefore I was not a fan of Korean culture, but a lot of posts started talking about it, so I decided to ask my friend.
And so I started reading that manhwa. Of course my first impression of her was good. It was fun, and I was curious about it, especially about the system and the secret behind it. I liked the idea of monsters, dungeons, and hunters. I liked Ju-hee a lot, and Woo Jin-chul as well, but I didn't really care for Jin-woo. I mean, he was okey. After I decided that I liked it, I decided to continue reading it.
Over time, I started to get a little bored, since they always only showed Jin-woo, and more importantly, never cared about the other characters (Yeah, it's SOLO Leveling, and it should be only about Jin-woo, like many other fans say. But, why did you dear author made the side characters so interesting?!), and also, Jin-woo started acting a little condescending and arrogant on several occasions just because he gained power. (Do all Koreans only get serious when they get something special?)
The development of the story over time became somewhat boring, and I slowly began to understand that this manhwa might not be my type, but I decided to be patient a little, and see what happens. And here, BOOM!! Korea hates Japanese hunters, and makes them bad people. Well, not that I'm complaining about this much, I mean, what do you expect from a country that hates another country?
Min Byung-gyu died, and that was so disappointing. He didn't even have enough scenes. And I was so sad about it.
And of course Jin-woo was the best and the badass, the greatest the PerFect and-!!!
Yeah, that's what I've been always reading in comments. What about Baek Yoon-ho? Choi Jong-in? Lim Tea-gyu and Min Byung-gyu??
No, it's Korea, and Jin-woo should be the only person on the screen.. 🤷‍♀️
Regardless of all this, and with the hope that I might see Baek Yoon-ho and Woo Jin-chul again, I decided to read the light novel, after the first season was finished.
Believe it or not, I almost cried because this novel disappointed me so much, in the story and in the characters. I also have been waiting Jin-woo's and Ju-hee's dinner.. but it didn't happen. 😪
And that made me start to hate Cha Hae-in so much.
First, she wasn't as helpful for Jin-woo as Ju-hee was. Second, she just appeared suddenly, and became the best girl in the manhwa all of a sudden, and everybody just speaks about her in comments, along with Jin-woo. She suddenly became the best in everything, despite that we never saw how did she actually win a true battle against monsters. She only got defeated, and always needed someone to save her. But Ju-hee despite that she was kinda weak and scared as hell, she followed Jin-woo in dungeons just to take care of him. And now, only because it's "true love", he loved Cha and not Ju-hee. Really? Is that the only explanation you guys have? If you saw a drunk old man in the street, will you love him because it's "true love"? Oh wait, Jin-woo wasn't drunk, he had a good smell. Yeah, Cha liked him only because of his smell, and when Ju-hee cared about him and liked him (she asked him to take her out for a dinner), it was nothing. It's not true love.
Wow! You guys are so intelligent! I really respect you all!
I had no reason or motivation left to complete the manhwa. Characters and art style. ONLY!!!
Finally, the manhwa ended and I felt relieved that I would never have to read this Korean trash again (Sorry, Solo fans, but you curse worse than me. Bear with me, sensitive people, please~)
I didn't really regret reading this manhwa, because I liked some aspects of it, the most important of which were the characters. What bothered me a little was that they completely forgot about the other characters. At least in the first season there were more shots of the side characters.
Now, let's move on to the main point.
Why do I hate Solo Leveling, or rather, why did I start to hate it this much?
First of all, the way Solo fans compared it with jjk.
I'm sooo sorry, dear Solo fans, but everyone knows that Jjk is better than solo in many aspects (I don't say most people hate solo, I'm just saying most of people prefer jjk)
Firstly, the plot of Jujutsu Kaisen is more interesting than Solo Leveling plot. Yes, many haters may say that Jujutsu Kaisen ideas are borrowed from other anime and plots, and it has nothing new. Excuse me, my dear, don't you see that Solo is full of borrowed ideas more than Jujutsu Kaisen? Titans? Hunters? Ranks and game system? Also, even though the plot of Jujutsu may seem a little copied, it's not to an obvious degree like Solo.
Not to mention that Jjk's characters are tens and hundreds of times better than Solo's. God, I'm really sorry that I wiped your dignity on the ground, Jin-woo's husband or wife, Gojo is really weak in front of the great, handsome, perfect, invincible master that all the girls love. Gojo is a weak trash, who is worth nothing in front of everyone's favorite Korean badass, and no one has the right to protest, I'm so soOorrRRRry!!~
Now let us move on to dear fans who started comparing the LOseR Gojo and our great, ideal King Jin-woo, instead of comparing him to Sukuna, who is considered the strongest in the series. Dear, are you jealous that Gojo is more popular than your Jin-woo? If you want to seem like the person who compares the characters according to the strongest from each series, I advise you to think of a smarter trick next time, because the strongest here is Sukuna, not Gojo. Don't worry, no one will hate you if you express your opinion respectfully and say that you hate Gojo.
SPOILER
I never deny that jujutsu has flaws, especially the events after Gojo's fight against Sukuna, and the way in which Sukuna lost, without us seeing him at his full strength.
End of spoiler :)
But please, do not compare a simple Korean work to this great work. Solo Leveling is not bad, it has its flaws just like jjk does, but jjk is obviously more popular and better than Solo in many ways.
Okay, it's alright to prefer something more than the other, but why the insult? Why this much of hatred? If you don't like something, please, stop reading it or watching it, just leave. I hated Solo, but I never insulted it before in front of other fans who like it so much, because I would never want the same for me, for the work I love, but when you guys insult something I love, I feel the urge to insult what you prefer. You can say you hate something, it's not wrong, but without insulting, please.
Solo Leveling has a simple plot (although I want to say it's fucking trash, but ok), not to mention that it left out a lot of interesting characters. And excluding Ju-hee is the worst skip, just for the sake of a ***** who loves our perfect Jin-woo's smell. (I'm sorry, Cha fans, I couldn't take it anymore. I'm so sorry. No, really, I'm sorry. I'm following someone who loves Cha, and I don't want him to get angry, But I really want to say this more).
SORRY, SORRY, SORRY MY FRIENDS WHO LIKE SOLO, I'M SORRY.. 🙁🙁🙁
In general, everyone has his own opinion, and I respect every person's opinion, but I do not and would never respect insulting and cursing. I really had enough of people who curse Jjk, because I like jjk so much, despite that I was really really really disappointed by the end of Shinjuku arc. But it does NOT make solo better in any way. I don't care what others would say, but I'll never take my words back. I hate solo, I hate Cha Hae-in especially. I don't care about people who say Jin-woo is definitely stronger than Gojo (I know he is, but what would you expect from a korean work? It always makes every hero too special, overrated, and invincible. It's not even exciting, even a bit. There's no a normal logic in korean manhwa, the hero should be always the best, and others are trash.) 🤷‍♀️
But, making Jin-woo stronger than Gojo doesn't mean Gojo is worse. Gojo is the best, and Jjk is the best, no matter how much you adore your Jin-woo.
Fans are one of the main reasons why did I start to hate Solo Leveling, Jin-woo, and Cha Hae-in.
I talked too much..
I warned you, but again..
I'm sorry :)

summary: wooyoung has a panic attack on stage but you’re there for him
words: 1.6k
tw: panicattack, mobbing, hate, death threats
I laughed a little at something San had just said when my boyfriend Wooyoung rushed into the room. I turned to him a little worried. He had been so stressed all day and I didn’t know exactly why. In addition, he seemed to avoid us all or it was just a coincidence, at least I and Wooyoung had exchanged only a few words today. "Did you see my microphone? I can’t find it anymore," he said in a slight panic.
"Don’t worry, your micro is over here," Hongjoong replied, looking at Wooyoung as anxiously as I did. "Is everything okay, Wooyoung?" I asked cautiously. He nodded hastily and disappeared from the waiting room where we were sitting.
~
The concert by Ateez, because of which we sat here in the back stage area of the hall, would start in 15 min. So I decided to check on Wooyoung. I found my boyfriend in one of the adjoining rooms, where he practiced the dances, from the songs Ateez would perform.
I stopped in the doorway, Wooyoung obviously hadn’t discovered me yet. After Crazy Form finished, the same song started to play again and Woo went back to the starting position to repeat everything again.
He didn’t make a single mistake and yet I wondered how long he had been doing this, he could do the dance. Why did he still practice it so obsessively? Was he nervous about the concert? But why? He had done so many shows already. Why was he so scared?
I was tired of thinking about what he was thinking all the time, I was his girlfriend and I could talk to him. So I stepped out of the doorway and into the room until Wooyoung noticed me. He hastily turned off the music and looked at me questioningly. "Hey, how are you? I noticed that you’ve been so... nervous all day." I asked the musician carefully. He ran desperately through his hair.
"I’m fine." he smiled at me, but I knew how put-on it was.
"You think too much again, didn’t I advise you to stop? And don’t wrinkle your forehead like that. But don’t worry, I would still love you with wrinkles." he grinned, but I couldn’t pull a smile over his teasing. I was still worried.
But of course Wooyoung was as usual. If something really border him, he would keep all his worries and problems to himself until he exploded. He also liked to make everyone know that he was super good, no matter how fucked up he really was.
"Woo listen, you can just talk to me…" but I was interrupted by Jongho walking into the room.
"Hyung, where are you? Let’s go." Wooyoung’s face stiffened, but he nodded and walked out of the room with one last glance to me.
I ran after the two men after a short hesitation. I watched all 8 members prepare for the stage and at the last moment before they went out to their fans, I pulled Wooyoung aside and pressed him firmly against me.
He seemed a little puzzled, partly because I was otherwise not the person of the two of us who initiated physical contact. But after a short break he pressed me to himself.
I frowned when I noticed that he was shaking as he turned away from me and stepped out onto the stage. What was wrong with my boy? Why was he so nervous?
I stepped into one of the exits of the stage so that I could watch Ateez perform, but was not seen by any of the fans.
I noticed Wooyoung shaking, was it really just the effort of dancing? The group had now finished their first song and Wooyoung discovered me in my hiding place. I smiled at him, which he did not reply.
The next song started playing and I noticed my boyfriend making a little mistake in the choreography. He grimaced in panic and immediately made the next mistake. He entangled himself in a vicious circle, where one slip followed the next. I noticed that Wooyoung had snapped breathing, gasping for air more like it was normal.
Wooyoung kept dancing, even though his face was so panicked and scared that I almost couldn’t stand it anymore, what was wrong with him? And suddenly I saw it, my heart missed a beat and at the same time everything made sense. I saw Wooyoung tap his temple three times, this gesture being our secret sign, symbolizing a panic attack. We had developed it when I had many panic attacks several years ago.
I opened my eyes wide, a single tear streaming from Wooyoung’s eyes, and I knew he was about to collapse. So I rushed straight to the stage.
I didn't care about all the fans anymore. I just wanted to make sure, that Wooyoung was ok.
When I got to him, he stopped dancing, he shivered and gasped for air. My boyfriend clung to my arms and more tears ran from his eyes, he slumped and whimpered slightly.
I knelt down before him, and my heart was torn to see him like this. While I was holding him, I knew that these gestures alone would not help him.
Almost automatically I took Wooyoung and took him from stage as best I could. The others looked worried and a little overwhelmed at Wooyoung and me. I symbolized to them that they should finish the song and hesitantly they did so.
I dropped Wooyoung on a chair in an empty room, away from all the things that could stress him. I should try the easiest way to calm him down, maybe it helped. Otherwise, I would have to change my mind. So I started focusing on his breathing.
"Woo I want you to breathe in and out with me, okay?" he just nodded. I began to breathe in a calm rhythm and he did the same. When his breathing had calmed down a little, I started to talk to him a little. When I realised that he was feeling better again, I took him in my arms and Wooyoung clung to me.
I sighed. I hated it when he felt so bad.
"Do you want to talk about what happened?" I asked him carefully. I really wanted to know what had stressed him out so much. However, I would also respect his boundaries if he didn't want to tell me.
Wooyoung sighed and hugged me even closer to him. He was silent for a while, but then he started talking to me.
"You know, I found this website yesterday where so many Atinys were making fun of me. They said I was too fat or untalented. They also said that I would probably mess up the whole choreography at this concert again. They wrote that they would kill me if I did just one step wrong and they were right. I messed everything up." Wooyoung trembled in my arms and buried his face in the crook of my neck.
It was so different to see Wooyoung so vulnerable. He didn't deserve any of this. He always did his best. At that moment, I hated those people and everyone else who kept hurting him with all my heart. Why would a person do something like that? Didn't they have any hobbies? Were they so unhappy with themselves that they had to do this to another person?
But before I could answer him, before I could reassure him that everything was okay, the rest of the members came rushing into the room. They all looked very worried and immediately burst out with thousands of questions, ranging from "How are you?" to "What happened?".
In the meantime, Wooyoung had detached himself from me and was now content to hold my hand. He slowly explained to the others what had happened. But I noticed that he left out the reason for his panic attack. He probably just didn't want to worry the others any further, but at that moment I was incredibly grateful that he had trusted me enough to share everything with me. ~ Wooyoung cuddled up to me on the overstuffed sofa in the apartment that Ateez lived in. The nine of us sat on the sofa and two armchairs, watching a drama together. Ateez had cancelled the concert a few hours earlier and promised all the Atinys who had been looking forward to the show a ticket for the next show or their money back. Wooyoung had wanted to pretend that nothing had happened and simply carry on with the concert. But we all I, the other members and their manager had vehemently contradicted him. And so we ended up having a cosy evening watching TV on the couch.
I could tell, that Wooyoung already was feeling better because he started making fun of me again and teasing all of us.
I hugged Wooyoung to me. He shouldn't have to go through this. He gave me a kiss, grinning mischievously, which admittedly took me quite by surprise. I laughed and he joined in. Slowly my boyfriend started to press more and more kisses on my mouth until I pushed him away slightly. He pouted in offence. I laughed and gave him a final kiss.
"Okay, he must feeling dazzling." I thought with a grin and cuddled up to Wooyoung's shoulder again. I loved him so much that sometimes I would just grab this precious person and lock him in a room so that no one could ever hurt him. But I couldn't do that. The world was cruel, but there was nothing I could do about it.
I pressed a kiss to Wooyoung's hair and swore to myself that I would protect him as best I could.

8(yesterday) — 1:12 am
I think I should now do Rosca's turn for her own views on the Alnst OCs (minus Flor). Just for the fun of it-
So that's what I'm gonna be doing! (Forgive me if some of these are repetitive, or even small!. Rosca basically doesn't like people in general, so-)
Do tell me if I forgot your OC!
Solei ( @solei-eclipse ): Rosca is a bit.. confused about them. To say the least, in a way. Of course, though, Rosca doesn't really care all that much about history and knowledge of how things are made and why they look like that. She doesn't care all that much, and some of the things they say are very boring. But in some sense, she's grateful? She already knew it- the information, but it's nice finding someone who's like her... Who knows a lot, but of course in the thing that they are knowledgeable in.
Aurien ( @aurienneirua / @apriciticreveries ): Crybaby, loner. Rosca is.. mean to say it lightly.... Ordering people around, and especially people like Aurien; the weak will end up in a ditch! They should be stronger! Be glad that Rosca is here to at least help them with that!
Lark, Noora ( @kamersona ): As said before by kamer themselves, Rosca and Lark were together when they were being transported to ANAKT. And with all his freaking out moments, Rosca found it pretty annoying to be around him. Not sure how much he did freak out, but he freaked out and that made the trip annoyingly slow to Rosca. She has traveled before so this is nothing new, and the freaking out? Nothing new and she hates that. / Noora, a girl with vitiligo! That's a strange thing to Rosca, but then she remembers how she has traveled and has maybe seen other people like her and the other girl. Maybe she can be more better as a model or something?
Vii, Ji-Woo, Saachi, Min, Ryu ( @starry-skiez ): Rosca, IMMEDIATELY, finds them ALL strange. || Vii, firstly. .. first of all... Strange name- is it supposed to be a number of sorts? 7 perhaps? Who names their pet— ah, who cares. Aliens do what they want, so she won't question them. Did they also color their pet's hair to be like grass? That has to be a joke of sorts. / Ji-Woo, second. The red is a striking color, a pretty one! Too bad it was only there for a few days until it got washed away. It seemingly fitted Woo. Who cares though / Saachi, third. Another girl with vitiligo. Is that a desired trait? But no matter, that girl seems fine and can fend for herself in ways. She doesn't pay attention anyways. / Min, fourth. It's like looking into a reflection; in a sense. Min's acts mirror Rosca's in some small ways. It's weird, wrong but so right. Wrong in the sense of being raised as "you're special" as Rosca is the only important girl around, but right in the way of like; maybe I've already been influential before I was even born! .. but she's so mature..... / Ryu, fifth. The orange and light blonde.. to say. It's quite fitting. In a weird way. She doesn't know what else to say. This whole place is boring
Aegaeon ( @paradisedisconcert ): Fights on SIGHT/j <- just thought it'd be funny. She finds Aegaeon pretty strange, in the way of how Aegaeon acts. Cold and aggressive.. like a boy or moreso a warrior, she would think. She has somewhat seen some fights between Aegaeon and Minori but it's always so light (not that much damage is done).
Minori ( @minori-dash / @skyisjusthere ): Slightly similar to Aegaeon— cold, reverse but also similar to Aurien?? Minori is quiet and skittish. Quiet and lonely.. nothing else to note. Nothing much is important
Akane ( @aakaneeee ): Ah! A normal looking person, at least, in a sea of strange and bright (physically) people, it's nice to- oh. Another quiet one? One that doesn't pay attention to her? Hmphft! Their lost!
Azure ( @azureitri / @4listr ): Cold, reverse- annoying! He doesn't even want to talk to the most interesting girl in the garden! That's just rude of him!
Castor, Himei, Kyo, Tallis ( @lookatmysillies / @bluemoonscape ): Castor, Himei, Kyo and Tallis. Meeting them is like meeting a weird club in a cartoon that she has watched whenever she pleases to. || The oldest of the bunch in the weird club- Castor. He's an interesting one, wanting to be a parent at this age? That's quite an interesting thing to do. He's like a grandfather, or more of a grandmother because of that! / The friendly one of the weird club- Himei. She makes good clothing designs. Maybe in some moments, Rosca tries the actual clothes. Himei is good at that, nothing else to note. / The hot-head of the weird club- Kyo. A bit similar to Aegaeon if she had to think that hard about it. Wanting alone time, and being hot-headed and such. / The (expected) shy one of the weird club- Tallis. As said, to be expected. Which makes Rosca bored already, but the braids that Tallis has are interesting on a surface level. Nothing much to say
Cirrus ( @yunoftheclouds ): The pale lavender to bright purple surely also makes them stand out like Rose does. Slightly. But once again, another quiet person. Surely this isn't some sort of standard? Who cares about that though.
Daiki ( @teapotuser ): Daiki. When will the quiet and shy people- just. When will they go away!? It's tiring to be so loud, to be active and to get their eyes on her.
Ellie, Khoi, Vera, Sai ( @bittersweet-adagio / @junebluues ): Ellie, just like Min but on a physical level. Much weirder, wrong and right all at the same time. Khoi, quiet. Sai? Quiet. Yeah he might look interesting, but that's just his eyes- her eyes are better though. Vera? Another quiet one. WHEN will it get interesting!?
Stasya ( @billwasnot ): The purple hair makes them stand out. Just like Cirrus and their pale lavender to bright purple hair. But another person who is chill, and quiet. Rosca doesn't make any attempts to communicate with Stasya and others like him (or others that are just clearly shy from the get-go). It's boring like that, and it's not worth her time
Isla, Monica, Toon ( @nottoonedin ): Isla and Monica. They seem to be a pair, with further proof of how they are always, seemingly, connected at the hip. Just like a few others are like that too, a pair.
Evon, Jae ( @kofeedoggo ): Evon and Jae. They seem to be a pair? Rosca doesn't know, since she doesn't really care. Expected
Tov ( @ivanttakethis ): Rosca somewhat thought that Tov was gonna be like Noora or Saachi. Ya'know. With the skin condition, but no— and that's fine!
Lang ( @its-langgg / @pwippy ): Lang looks like Min, in a strange way. But she doesn't act like Min, at all. Which is to be expected now. Almost everyone is just too obedient, too quiet and too blank. That's why it's very important that they have her around! Or else this would've been just a static place!
Moran ( @geospiral ): A refreshing person to have in the garden. Finally! Someone with some common sense! Finally! Someone who KNOWS what they are destined for and all of that! FINALLY. And, the best part? Moran looks like her! Isn't that the best??
Rose ( @rosedeleca ): Strange in a nice way. Their uniqueness is surely a quality that makes them very.. interesting. How can one human being, be like that? Was Rose the lucky one with the lucky genetics*? They really do live up to being unique.
Onyx, Dian ( @rockwgooglyeyes ): Another pair. It seems like it's always the bright and cheerful ones with the most quiet and introverted ones ever. Like that's the only pair that is ever needed. But, besides that. She doesn't care for the both of them; it's now expected that almost everyone here would be a quiet kid or a very friendly kid. With complimentary colors that mix well
Vermillion ( @subzeromoron ): Third one of being a guy with red hair. The first one who has something hiding, a candle like boy and now someone who's named after a color of a shade of red. Who would've guessed it.
Ava ( @paperstarry ): Pretty smile with nothing behind it at all. At least that is true. (Just that, almost everything is repeating. Rosca is super glad that she's here to be in charge and at least not have this place be boring!)
*fun fact! Rosca knows some light biology of humans, due to her travels and how she has worked in plays/theaters before being inrolled to ANAKT to sing.
Again, sorry if these are short or repetitive.

My top 10 Solo Leveling characters + explenation.
I know some of you may not agree (especially no. 10), but please don't hate me. I just like them a lot. This is my opinion. Feel free to tell me if I made a mistake or if I spelled something wrong! And feel free to tell me what your top 10 is, too!
Baek Yoon-Ho
Tumblr media
I'll be honest, I love Yoonho. He's such a cool character. I love cats/tigers/panthers, all of them. I love the way he acts like an aggressive cat, the way he has cat traits and I love how he can transform into an awesome white tiger-like beast.
2. Lim Tae-Gyu
Tumblr media
His personality just screams out sleepdeprived and cocky, but he is not. I love his cocky smile, even though he isn't. When I read the fact that his occupation before his awakening was tennis I came to love him even more. And you got his uniform design. It's awesome!
3. Kenzo Tanaka
Tumblr media
I know he doesn't have a lot of screen time, but I love him. He really strikes me as one of those tough guys that are actually soft on the inside. And I love how he is so calm, unlike most other tough guys. He just strikes me as a really nice and caring guy.
4. Lennart Niermann
Tumblr media
Lennart is awesome. His personality is awesome, his powers are awesome. I love him. He's such a soft and calm person. Every time he was on screen he made me calm. His powers, though. They make me wild! They're so cool! I mean, just look at that picture! Not to msntion the way he protected Thomas. He knew he wouldn't be a match against someone even stronger than Thomas, and yet he helped Thomas.
5. Min Byung-Gu
Tumblr media
He strikes me as one of those softies everyone would love. He's just so nice towards others and he has such a welcoming smile! I love his warm smile! And his design is nice, too. They gave him a nice color palette. The way he uses a book to use his powers also has me going wild. It's just so cool! It makes me think of one of those overpowered wizards!
6. Thomas Andre
Tumblr media
Thomas Andre just screams out brute power! He's such a rough and tough guy. I like how he just smashes eveything and how rough he is with his opponents. Whenever he walks next to someone he looks like a giant. That's really funny. And the way he transforms into an overpowered knight-like looking person is just amazing!
7. Lui Zhigang
Tumblr media
His mysterious and dark aura makes him really appealing. He doesn't have a lot of screen time, but he is such a cool person. He's so powerful, and yet we haven't seen him fight once. But the way he has awesome panels in the manwha makes up for it. His panels are always either dark and mysterious or beautiful.
8. Woo Jin-Chul
Tumblr media
Woo is in my top 10 because he has such a calm and mannered personality, even though his stress level is at 100% everytime we see him. He always manages to find a solution to a problem. When he stopped Baek and Hwang from a fight, we saw his true power. Even though the two were S-ranks, he stopped them. Yes, his arm throbbed in pain, but he still stopped them, which means he's storng.
9. Choi Jong-In
Tumblr media
Choi is a sly, but calm person. I love how he's with Baek 90% of the time. They're always bickering together and throwing a tantrum. Yet he still manages to do his job properly and clear most raids easily. I love his design a lot and his attacks are awesome, too.
10. Hwang Dong-Soo
Tumblr media
HEAR ME OUT! Hear me out! Dongsoo may not be the nicest person, but the way he's shown in a dark and mysterious way has drawn me to him. He also strikes me as one of those complete douchebags with a slightly soft side. He came over to Korea, all because someone killed his brother. Now their band wasn't too good, but he still cherished his brother from the inside. Even if it's just in the slightest. That means he has a soft side and I love him for that.

Chaeri as the 8th and youngest member of BTS.
Chaeri's Masterlist
ATTENTION: 'MY NAME' DRAMA SPOILER AHEAD
Web article
Why you shouldn't miss 'My Name', the series starring the kick-ass girl of the year
Revenge is woman
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My Name is one of those realistic, down-to-earth, tough stories. Tough as hell. Premiering at the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, it is a crime thriller directed by Kim Jin-min, director of 2004's Pride and Prejudice, and starring Chaeri of BTS. It is a story of pure revenge, but veered to the female side, with a very young girl at the center. My Name is an adrenaline-fueled, violent series that is a pleasure to follow.
"It's the least for a gangster's daughter." That's what Ji-woo Yoon (Chaeri) says after beating the crap out of a schoolmate who was bullying her. On her desk, in fact, she had put a bag with something that looked like cocaine in it, for the purpose of teasing her or, who knows, getting her called out of school. Ji-woo's reaction is violent, and without mercy. Soon after, when she is in her apartment, she receives a visit from her father, who has brought her a present for her birthday. But she, who does not accept his choice to be a criminal, refuses to see him and doesn't open the door for him. In the hallway, in front of that closed door, the man is murdered. The girl's guilt-ridden mission will be to find who killed him. Whatever it takes.
My Name rests entirely on the shoulders of the very young Chaeri and to her performance. She makes her acting debut embodying a role very different from what fans are used to seeing of her on stage. Unlike many equally young and pretty female colleagues who have chosen a career path propped up with sugary roles in sappy rom-coms, Chaeri opted to take on a far more uncomfortable role for her screen debut. Petite, her face graceful and sweet, she proves to be an actress who can bring to life the contrast between the delicacy of her age and status as a high school student, with the world she faces, and with the very characteristics of a tireless and indomitable fighter she manages to pull off. In the first scenes of the series we saw her getting ready for school, neat and elegant. All this before the surprising explosion of violence we witness at her school. And it is only the prologue to an endless spiral of violence. The action of My Name is tight, rhythmic, not giving a moment's respite. The protagonist moves to the rhythm of the beats of cold, pressing electronic music.
We see her juggling a noir-tinged story in which the very young Yoon Ji-woo must move not only deftly but also intelligently between two opposing organizations: the police organization, particularly Narcotics, and the gang of the mellifluous boss Choi Mu-jin, the best friend of Ji-woo's late parent. Hidden among them is the killer of the girl's father, and the search for the truth is as exciting as the bloody showdown.
"My Name" breaks free from the constraints of traditional Korean TV censorship, providing a platform for explicit depictions of violence, sex, and the exploration of intense emotions like love and hate. As a Netflix original production, the series offers a refreshing and unfiltered viewing experience. Since its debut on October 15, 2021, "My Name" has captivated audiences with its gripping storyline and Chaeri's remarkable acting debut.
The controversial themes and many parents' reaction to the TV series' debut trailer
Blog: Parenting teenagers
User_1: I just read the news that Chaeri is going to act in a TV series with highly debatable themes. I'm really concerned about my son, who is a huge fan of hers. How can we ensure that our children aren't negatively influenced by this kind of content?
User_2: I'm disappointed that an artist like Chaeri has decided to participate in a series with such themes. As parents, we need to protect our children from these harmful influences. We should encourage greater scrutiny of the artists they follow and promote more positive and age-appropriate content.
User_3: This is just an example of how our young ones are exposed to inappropriate content because of the choices made by the artists they follow. As parents, we need to be mindful and educate our children about the negative effects of such content. It's essential that we seek healthier alternatives for them.
User_4: Have you heard about Chaeri's upcoming role in that TV series? I can't believe she's choosing to be a part of something so inappropriate for her young fanbase. It's really disappointing.
User_5: I agree completely. As parents, we should expect better from these idols who have such a significant influence on our children. It's a shame that Chaeri is going down this path.
User_6: I've already had to have some difficult conversations with my daughter about the content in K-pop. Now, with Chaeri taking on such a controversial role, it's going to be even harder to guide our kids through these complex issues.

💭 fanboy11: I understand it's acting, but seeing Chaeri and Ahn Bo-Hyun's steamy scenes in 'My Name' is really testing my emotions!
💭 chaeri1stan: Seriously, can't they tone down the intimacy between Chaeri and Ahn Bo-Hyun in 'My Name'? It's making it hard to watch
💭 chaerislips: The chemistry between Chaeri and Ahn Bo-Hyun is so intense that I can't help but feel slightly jealous of their kissing in 'My Name.' I hope they are just acting
💭 notdelulufan: Wow, I have to admit that being Ahn Bo-Hyun and having a scene with Chaeri where she's undressed in 'My Name' is a dream! A bit of male jealousy here
What BTS think of Chaeri in the lead role of My Name, interview extracts
Suga: Chaeri has proven to be an all-around artist, her versatility in moving from a world that was strictly about music to the world of film and TV series is impressive. She has handled the complex role she has been given managing to convey genuine emotions. She has given life to an extraordinary character. We are very proud of her
Jin: She surprised us by auditioning without letting us know. When she returned home with a carrot cake, her favorite, she exclaimed, 'Guys, today calls for a celebration!' It caught us off guard. We were aware of her acting lessons but hadn't anticipated her involvement in such a significant project. From the first day of filming until the very end, we wholeheartedly cheered her on
Suga: I've been on set many times
V: I've been on set as well. I have brought her lunch more than once and stayed to watch the scenes being filmed
Jimin: As part of the BTS family, we have always stood together, supporting each other's dreams and aspirations. It brings us immense joy to witness Chaeri's artistic evolution and the milestones she reaches. Every success she achieves feels like a shared victory for all of us
RM: To be frank, when she shared the details and genre of the show she was going to be a part of, I couldn't help but ask if she felt ready to make her debut as an actress in such a demanding role. The first impression is crucial, as it can shape an artist's future prospects, and I was worried that the role might be too overwhelming. However, she proved me wrong, and she amazed everyone. I suppose I will always have a sense of concern for her, just like when she was 14 years old. It's a part of me that I can't shake off. Nevertheless, I have to acknowledge and accept that she has blossomed into a strong, beautiful and independent woman
J-Hope: She's the youngest in the family, and it's tough to see her all grown up
J-Hope: A significant buzz has emerged online surrounding her involvement in this show. However, I strongly believe that she deserves nothing but admiration. Despite it being her debut, she has demonstrated remarkable artistic skills. My Name is the type of TV series that I would gladly watch repeatedly, to the point of memorizing every scene. Chaeri's performance was nothing short of perfection
Jungkook: Her dedication serves as an inspiration to all. We were a bit worried at first. Our busy schedules consume a major part of our day and she would sacrifice hours of sleep to become the leading actress everyone expected. I witnessed her taking boxing lessons, filming scenes at improbable hours, and studying the script even while eating. She is a hard worker, and all her efforts have paid off
V: There are no adequate words to express how proud I am of her. She knew that joining the cast would unsettle some people, yet she pursued it because it was what she wanted. As idols, we have a responsibility to set a good example for our followers, that's true. However, it's important to remember that movies and TV series are purely fictional and go beyond our role as role models. I have always supported her in every decision, and I have cherished every minute of 'My Name'

it was a gloomy and early evening, and all y/n could hear were the sounds of bird chirps and wind whispers.
she gave a soft sigh as she arrived onto the school campus. “just a few hours today, it’s gonna rain too..,” she murmured with a saddened expression.
the girl soon felt a harsh arm tug around her neck, pulling her close within the person’s chest.
in an instant, the smell of cologne and fresh laundry attacked her senses and she knew who it was.
“you just got here??” her close friend, sunghoon beamed towards her.
y/n’s heart instantly thumped at the processed words. “yeah.. did you?” she took a gulp, eyes trailing up towards the body figure.
she heard him give a low chuckle that caused her insides to churn and twist all in one. “i’ve been here for a while, dummy. we’ve all been waiting for you.” hoon spoke, arms unintentionally linking her closer in his presence.
the girl awkwardly laughed along before swallowing her feelings away. “oh.. well, i’m here now.”
“finally! i’ve been waiting since 8am!”
“you have?” her head peered up and she only hoped that sunghoon didn’t notice the blushing red around her cheeks and ears.
he didn’t. the stupid boy was oblivious.
so he only cackled a laugh before furiously nodding his head — “yeah! i need to give you an update on how it’s going so far with wonyoung.”
oh.
y/n’s heart instantly sank to the pit of her stomach, killing all of the possible butterflies that had been formed there. “o..oh…,” she mumbled with a lip bite. “yeah, how’s it going so far?”
she attempted a smile but could only go so far with just her lips forcibly pressing into a thin line.
sunghoon didn’t notice the way his friend who’s crushed on him for months subtly withdrew away from him as he yapped on and on about his progress.
“so me and her..,” “and then we..,” “but she also told me..,” “and i really want her to know that..,” the oblivious boy mumbled on, and all she could do was let him run his mouth with how much excitement surged through him.
y/n laughed here and there, playing the simple mannered jokes to quiet down her aching pain that wished to become present.
but even with her efforts, her tears that caused a shine to display in her eyes were worsening her act. and when she quietly sniffed away her snot, sunghoon immediately noticed and stopped in his tracks.
“hey,” he nudged. “you okay?”
“yeah.. no, yeah, i’m definitely fine! it’s just getting cold so i think i’m getting a little sick.” she muffled back with her head turned away from him.
he didn’t give a response. at least, not right away. it was urgently quiet as he observed her body language, almost as if trying to figure her out.
“are you sure you’re okay?” the male softly uttered. his voice was sweet and reassuring, much like his feelings for wonyoung.
“if you need to, just go back home. your head might hurt if you stay in class.” he added in.
y/n hated this. she hated how caring he was, how unintentionally charming he was. she hated it, and she hated him (lies).
“no it’s fine, hoon.”
sunghoon’s face spoke with disbelief in her words. resting his hand on her shoulder, he firmly murmured, “i’m sure the professor will understand, i don’t want you to force yourself-“
“i said i’m fine.” the girl harshly reiterated.
after the cold shoulder, she felt his hand slip off of her shoulder — causing a burning pulse to ache in her heart. he was the one who withdrew this time, and she felt it.
“you didn’t have to be harsh, y/n.”
sunghoon’s hand was about to fully slip away but y/n caught it in time, fingers dangling onto the forearm with hope and regret.
“sorry, sunghoon, i’m just a little irritated with this cold,” she lied. nothing about her runny nose and teary eyes were about a cold. he was the reason, but he couldn’t know that.
✩ ‘i don’t even think that you care like i do’ ✩
hoon sighed. “i know you get a little mean when your head starts to hurt but don’t take it out on me,” he softly joked, playfully nudging her head afterwards.
the girl rolled her eyes before giving a light smack to his arm. “shut up, i’m just not feeling well.” another lie.
“well just don’t get me sick cause then i’ll get wonyoung sick.”
oh.
his words processed into her ears faster than she thought, and her smile dropped.
but when sunghoon looked back at her to see if she laughed at his joke, she quickly wore a grin once more.
“calm down, you guys are still talking.” y/n said with a stab to the heart.
“not after today, i hope.”
her ears perked up. she knew it wasn’t possible for her friend to like her back, especially with how much he always went on and on about a girl like wonyoung; but it didn’t hurt to have a little hope right?
✩ ‘pretend that we are more than friends’ ✩
“what’s happening today?” she asked, finding it hard to gulp down saliva with her heartbeats in her throat.
sunghoon awkwardly chuckled as he scratched the back of his nape. “i’m planning to ask her out today.”
another heart drop to the stomach.
✩ ‘i should stop’ ✩
‘of course.. i’m an idiot…,’ she thought to herself as she exhaled a heavy sigh.
“what? that’s not a good idea?” the boy asked, catching onto that exaggerated sigh.
“what? oh.. no, it’s a good idea! ask her out!” she beamed, displaying a wide smile. she felt like an idiot. her hopes went up for a second, just for it to be shot down like always.
✩ ‘heaven knows i’ve tried’ ✩
“thank you, y/n! you always help me with her, i can’t thank you enough!” sunghoon yelled, hugging and shaking her around.
y/n lightly laughed. “once is enough..,”
“what?”
“what..? nothing! hey, there’s jake and them, let’s go!” she dragged him towards their friend group and sighed in relief.
“you guys are finally here?” jake teased, displaying his full set of teeth as he laid his head on his girlfriend’s shoulders.
y/n nodded. “yeah, i just came on campus.”
“girl, it’s noon!” her friend, ji-woo yelled in disbelief.
“hey, my class is later, so i’m not late!”
“that’s true, at least she’s planning to go to class.” dae chimed in with a shrug in his shoulders.
“exactly! thank you,” the single friend defensively beamed back.
“that’s a first.” min-su uttered, causing cackled laughter to erupt out of the group.
a few topics of discussions immersed before sunghoon intervened with his own — “so i’m planning to ask wonyoung out.”
everyone immediately shifted their gaze to y/n, who had her head slightly drooped down. they knew she liked him. everyone knew, everyone but sunghoon.
but it wasn’t like they could just tell him for her. it wasn’t their place, and she’d honestly rather keep it a secret with how eager he was to be going out with another girl.
y/n softly shook her head ‘no’ towards her three closer friends who intentionally stared at her a little longer than the members. ‘no, don’t say anything, it’s fine’ — she spoke with that head shake.
ji-woo sighed out before uttering, “you’re really gonna go out with her?”
sunghoon’s head tilted to the side in confusion as he responded with a — “yes? is it that surprising?” he turned his attention to jake to get an idea of what his girlfriend meant, only for jake to just awkwardly smile.
“well, you’re just not the type to be that bold, you know?” dae urged, saving ji-woo’s ass.
“yeah, you’re usually more like the guy who just lets stuff happens unintentionally.” min-su said in an attempt to cover their question up.
“baby, i’m sure sunghoon’s just getting more confident with her.” heeseung replied to his girlfriend, intertwining his hands with hers.
y/n’s head slightly bolted before looking at the male who just spoke. they met eyes before he mouthed a ‘sorry’ towards her.
“hee’s right. she just makes me feel confident in being more out there. she’s so sweet, and talks confidently, and..,” sunghoon chattered on.
and it was then that she realized just how different wonyoung and her were.
wonyoung was extroverted, and y/n was introverted.
she was so outgoing and natural in everything she did, and y/n truly admired her for that. she couldn’t ever hate someone who was so unbelievably sweet like wonyoung.
but the two girls were different, and y/n could see just how much sunghoon and her wouldn’t work out. they were too similar, and he needed someone opposite from him.
her. it was her who was like that. wonyoung brought the best in him, and y/n was at least glad for that.
so as hoon kept yapping on about his plan, y/n disassociated with every thought that flooded her head. she couldn’t bare to hear the same words, so the best thing that she could do was just blur out whatever he was saying.
the group took notice and eventually stopped sunghoon.
“hey y/n, doesn’t your class start soon?” dae quickly intervened with an eyebrow raise.
“hm? oh, yeah.. soon.” she blatantly said, no sense of emotion shown.
ji-woo awkwardly laughed as she added, “girl you should start walking.” her chuckle was in an attempt to make light jokes of the situation, but y/n only nodded.
“okay,” she mumbled and got up from the table seat.
“oh, i’ll walk you.” jay uttered, taking the excuse and leaving as well.
sunghoon cocked his head. “what? but i was supposed to walk her. jay??”
“don’t worry, i’ll walk her! her class will be close to mine anyway!” the dark haired boy shouted before catching up to y/n.
“hey,” jay bumped his arm against hers. “you want to talk about it..?”
she sighed as she faced him. his face showed a sickly amount of worry and it only caused her to playfully push his head away.
“does it look like i want to talk about it?” y/n murmured, softly pouting.
jay chuckled. “no, but i’m here if you need me. i know it’s not easy, y/n, and sunghoon’s a little stupid for not seeing that you like him.”
she clicked her tongue as she rolled her eyes. “please, i haven’t shown that i’ve liked him at all. he’s not stupid, he’s just in love with someone else.” when her words actually processed, she felt her heart shatter into a million pieces.
the girl stopped her tracks and lowered her head, causing jay to look back at her with pity.
“y/n..,” he whispered, brows furrowing at her state.
“it’s pathetic, isn’t it?” she chuckled through her pain, tears already flowing down her cheeks. “being in love with someone who only sees me as a friend.”
“it’s not. maybe if you just tell him-“
“what, tell him and make our whole relationship awkward? no. he’s already adamant on going out with her anyway, there’s no point.”
y/n’s head lowered even more, hiding away her puffy, red eyes that were clear in daylight. she let out soft sobs before attempting to shut down her feelings.
✩ ‘promise i don’t mean to cry’ ✩
“sorry, this is gross. i’m not crying anymore, sorry jay-“
✩ ‘but i get overwhelmed and confused’ ✩
in swift seconds, jay pulled her into his embrace and softly squeezed her. “your feelings for sunghoon aren’t stupid. you may be for not telling him any sooner, but your feelings are never invalidated.” he muffled through the hug.
the girl cracked a smile at his words before slapping his arms. “thanks.. that was a little mean but, thanks jay.”
jay beamed a sweet and reassuring smile as he stroked her hair for a second. “what are friends for?” he said.
✩ ‘some day, someone will like me like i like you’ ✩
“are you still planning to go to class?”
“should i..? after i cried..?”
he cackled a laugh, shining a smile towards her before mumbling, “it’s up to you, but i honestly wouldn’t. you can always catch up too..,”
y/n turned her head to look at him. “are you suggesting that you skip with me?”
“who said i was skipping??” the tall male grinned ear to ear as he watched her exasperate a sigh out.
“you cant tell me to skip and not have you skip with me!”
“fine.. i’ll skip with you.” jay sighed in defeat. “but we have to get the others to skip too!”
“deal! i was already texting dae!”
the two laughed before making a weird U-turn from their pathway.
. . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆
eventually, their plan to skip only turned into a library study session. and with such short timing, only a few were willing to do it — dae, min-su, ji-woo, and niki.
the rest were either still in class, at home already, or in some cases, asking their crush out.
so when it was just the six in one big table, everything was chaotically quiet.
y/n sat next to her three closest friends while jay and niki silently bickered here and there.
“i cant believe jungwon didn’t come, he’s usually always down for these study sessions.” niki snorted.
“well wonie wasn’t feeling it today so he just went home.” dae butted in, eyes staying glued to his laptop.
jay huffed out a sigh. “this is a little boring.. i thought we were gonna do something more fun when we skipped, y/n.”
“well, we have to catch up for the work we missed.”
“remind me to never skip with you again..,”
the group quietly laughed together as jay continued — “seriously, y/n, what was the point if we were going to do something like study?”
“i just didn’t want to listen to my professor talk,” she scowled.
“let’s go eat somewhere, at least!” the male frowned, eyes rolling at how much she was concentrating.
“i wouldn’t mind eating..,” niki chimed in.
“let’s go!” yelled ji-woo, getting everyone hyped up to leave.
y/n immediately jumped up from her cushioned seat with a beam — “okay! i just have to go pee first.”
“do you want us to wait for you?”
“no it’s fine, jay needs to get the car anyway so just come around the block and i’ll be here.”
a few debates on staying with the girl was made before she ultimately convinced jay to just let them go first.
. . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆
once y/n was finally done, she brought herself to the front of the library. as she stepped out, she finally heard the heavy rain drops pour from outside.
the campus was flooded with wet puddles and muddy sidewalks. she exaggerated a sigh as she covered herself with a hoodie.
“should’ve just had someone wait with me,” she mumbled under her breath.
the girl glanced back and forth, from left to right to ensure nothing was in her way, but once she did so, she completely hated the sight she came across.
a few ways down from her once-peripheral vision, y/n saw sunghoon and wonyoung wrapped around each other in a hug.
she immediately found it hard to breathe with how tight her heart began to clench onto every single ache. tears ran through her cheeks as she watched from afar.
the only thing that further confirmed his stated plans from earlier were the dim lights on campus — exhibiting how well hoon was wrapping his arms around her, how well they fit each other like puzzle pieces.
she bit her lips as she tried to swallow back another crying sob, but she just couldn’t help it.
y/n was watching her closest friend fall in love with someone else this entire time, and she’s always been able to somewhat sustain it. but now? now, he would actually be with wonyoung, instead of the girl who’s been in love with him since high school.
✩ ‘if only you knew what i felt like’ ✩
her breath hitched as every memory of her and hoon being potentially more flashed away in an instant. she’d always thought that maybe on some level, she’d get with sunghoon because of how well it went for all three of her close friends to find their special someone from being friends first.
but that little fragment of hope she had left for something possible was now crushed to a pulp.
✩ ‘some day, one day’ ✩
it wasn’t like the movies where the two friends realize their love for each other, and y/n knew that now. because if it was anything like that, hoon wouldn’t have been so excited to tell her everything that he knew about wonyoung.
he would’ve just confessed his feelings, and baam, happy ending.
but yet again, it wasn’t like the movies.
so she harshly wiped her tears away and though no one was around, she couldn’t help but be thankful for the heavy raindrops that blended her tears in with it. a half smile plastered across her face in revelation to that while sighing.
‘happy for you..,’ y/n thought to herself as she pulled out her phone.
✩ ‘i will stop falling in love with you’ ✩
beads of water from the rain plopped on her phone in a quick pace while she texted a family member — ‘can you come pick me up?’
she bit her lips before leaving to her shared group chat with her beloved friends.
y/n <33:
hey.. i just remembered that i have an exam next week so i have to study for it
go ahead and eat without me tho!! my brother’s already on his way so don’t worry abt any of that! :)
jungwon’s bae 🩶:
You have an exam??
Why didn’t you tell us!
Just come out anyway 🥰
hee’s fav 🤍:
yeah one day won’t hurt!
jake’s girl 🫂:
jay’s taking forever but yeah, just come y/n!
y/n’s eyes glistened when she felt another wave of emotions hit her. they didn’t even know she was going through such a thing, and it hurt that she couldn’t tell them yet.
y/n <33:
no it’s okayy, another time!
a buzz to her phone was made before she found her brother pulling up. she ran to the car with a shaky breath, and soon, they drove away from the heartbreaking sight.
. . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆
when the girl got home, she immediately ran to her room and sobbed her eyes out. she broke down in a crying mess after holding it in in front of her brother.
tears streamed down her cheeks and snot filled her nose with every hiccup in her throat.
“i’m an idiot,” y/n grumbled in a scratchy whisper.
just then, her phone rang like crazy and she peeked over. her three friends were calling, most likely to call and talk like they do every night, but she couldn’t do it. not right now.
so she declined it, and a few other buzzed calls from them.
y/n ignored the flooding texts of concerns and playful frustrations before coming across a few from sunghoon.
hoonie 🤍:
You busy??
I have to tell you how it went, y/n
Text me back as soon as possible! I have such good news 🙂
her heart sank. of course he had good news, she was there to witness it. but she was a good friend after all.
✩ ‘until i do, i’ll be thinking of you’ ✩
y/n <33:
oh really?? what happened?
✩ ‘then of course i’ll let you break my heart again’ ✩

KDrama Year in Review 2023
While I watched more KDramas this year than CDramas, none of them consumed my heart and soul quite like this year's crop of CDramas did (CDrama review post here). And I dropped KDramas more readily than I have in years past, in part because there were so many more things to watch than I had time for (also I had to finish my dissertation and graduate, etc etc). Still, there were definitely some that I really, really enjoyed, so here's this year's KDrama round up:
16. My Lovely Liar: Started strong, got boring real quick. Dropped for homophobic murder plot. Still, glad to see that Hwang Min Hyn can actually act (although full disclosure, I did still enjoy him in Alchemy of Souls, wooden as that performance may be). Hoping Kim So Hyun can catch a break and get a role in a drama more worthy of her in the near future.
15. Crash Course in Romance: Excellent performances and chemistry by the ML and FL. Romance between two middle aged people instead of youths is also a treat. Dropped around ep 12 because of the unnecessary, homophobic murder plot. Pass.
14. A Good Day to Be a Dog: Surprisingly stronger than the goofy premise suggests, largely on the basis of Park Gyu-Young's performance as the FL who turns into a dog upon being kissed. Pacing problems in the third act around the origins of the whole dog curse thing. Can't say I recommend unless you're really in the mood for some shenanigans, but largely inoffensive if a little silly. (Also it turns out Cha Eun Woo *really* leveled up his kiss game for this one!)
13. Love to Hate You: Perfectly serviceable rom com. Nothing too special, but a nice weekend binge if you're in the mood for that. Also a good way to see Kim Ji-Hoon's v handsome face and that *hair* without having to deal with everything involved with his rather murderous run in Flower of Evil.
Tumblr media
12. Joseon Attorney: A Morality: Perfectly serviceable law procedural/Joseon historical. If you don't like either of those genres your mileage may vary, but I had missed having Bona on my screen, so it worked well enough for me.
11. Welcome to Samdal-ri: I seem to like this one more than literally everyone else I know, and I fully admit that my enjoyment of this drama is more vibes-based than plot-based. I guess I have a soft spot for Shin Hye Sun yelling at people at Ji Chang Wook going a bit unhinged over a woman who ran away from him (see also: Lovestruck in the City).
10. My Demon: Very much enjoying Song Kang as a cranky demon falling in love with a human. Very tropey in the best way, and feels like a return to form for the supernatural romance genre. Remains to be seen if they'll land the ending as of this writing, but enjoying as it goes.
9. Doctor Cha: A contribution to the slate of divorce comedies I watched this year (see also: Strangers Again (KDrama) and Let's Get Divorced (JDrama)), a surprisingly touching story about growing older when you've devoted your life to someone who has not done the same for you.
8. Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow (Part 2): While Ko Joon-Yung never quite managed to replace Jung So-Min as the FL for me, I definitely still enjoyed the closer to this fun fantasy series. Special shout out to Shin Seung-Ho as Prince Go Won and his pet turtle
7. Strangers Again: I didn't see a ton about this one on tumblr as it was airing, but I found this rom com? melodrama? divorce procedural? makjang? story about relationships and why they end unexpectedly profound. I tuned in expecting mindless makjang hot mess, and instead got a thoughtful meditation on divorce. Left me feeling unexpectedly melancholy at the end, but glad I watched it.
6. The Secret Romantic Guesthouse: Very fun sageuk! Probably won't knock your socks off, but it does what it does very well. Bonus points for a B couple as compelling as the A couple. I've also been a big Kang Hoon fan since Little Women, and there are a couple of other actors in here that I'm always glad to see working.
5. Perfect Marriage Revenge: Tour de force makjang. Came out of nowhere and blew me away. Hits all the right beats, and unexpectedly fun (and was a nice break from the heaviness of My Dearest for me). This was a good year for jaded and slightly unhinged transmigrated FL's back for their #revenge (see also: Story of Kunning Palace in CDrama land), and I was here for it. Also features one of the spiciest make-out scenes of the year, 10/10 recommend
4. See You in My 19th Life: Absolutely loved this haunting, melancholy, and sometimes unexpectedly goofy reincarnation drama. I loved the webtoon and had high expectations, and this drama largely met them! The continuing relationship between sisters Ji-Eum (Shin Hye Sun) and Cho-Won (Ha Yoon Kyung) was a special highlight for me, and while Shin Hye Sun is already a never-miss for me, I'm especially looking forward to whatever Ha Yoon Kyung does next. I prefer the ending of the Webtoon to the KDrama, but I'm still delighted this drama exists and am glad I watched it.
3. The Interest of Love: Look, I loved this drama. Even though it seemed on the surface like nothing but *mess* in the interpersonal lives of these characters working at a bank on the border between a rich and poor neighborhood in Seoul, it nonetheless had some of the most searing class commentary of the year for me. I also love an FL who will (spoiler) pack up her things and disappear at the drop of a hat, even if no one else will understand her decision to do so, because she just cannot deal anymore (see also: the FL in Lovestruck in the City, whom I also love but everyone else hated). This drama kept me gleefully coming back every week in a year where not a lot of others did.
2. Call It Love: A revenge slice of life melodrama that I found unexpectedly touching in its deep melancholy. Loved not only the main couple, but the relationship between the siblings and their pharmacist bestie. A lovely character study. (Also I somehow ended up watching this at the same time as Till the End of the Moon and Li Susu as Ye Xiwu's hidden identity/revenge plot, which was unexpectedly stressful! Had a very "it's the same picture" moment despite two dramas in two genres that could not be further apart.) If you missed this one (and since it aired on Disney+, you might have--Disney+'s effects on the KDrama streaming ecosystem will be the death of me), it's worth seeking out!
1. My Dearest (Parts 1 and 2): Kind of feels like everyone has said everything there is to say about sageuk of truly epic proportions, but it blew me away as well. Epic romance? Check. Twisty political machinations? Check. Heartwarming friendships between women? Check. Strong ensemble cast? And my top FL of the year, Lady Gil-Chae, played to perfection by Ahn Eun-Jin. I've adored her since Hospital Playlist, and am delighted that she's getting the attention and the roles she deserves. Namkoong Min also a top contender for ML of the year as Lee Jang-Hyun. Part 2 dragged for me a bit in places after a nearly perfect Part 1, but such a great drama overall.
Favorite Drama of the Year: My Dearest. See above.
Tumblr media
Favorite Female Character: I mean, it's gotta be Gil Chae from My Dearest, right? She starts out as such a spiteful, spoiled noblewoman, and then turns out to have a core of pure steel. Turns out all her conniving and strategizing, which went towards causing mischief in the village, really just needed a proper outlet. While I would never want to be in the circumstances in which she found herself, if I did, she's exactly who I would want on my side.
Tumblr media
Favorite Male Character: Everything's coming up My Dearest this year, because this one is Lee Jang-Hyun in My Dearest as well. Checks the box for my competence kink, and has a knack for showing up just when Gil-Chae needs him, even at great personal cost. Also a smart-ass, which I probably like a bit too much in a man.
Tumblr media
Favorite Secondary Female Character: Cho-Won from See You in My 19th Life. Her relationship with her reincarnated older sister was almost more compelling to me than the main romance sometimes, and really helped develop how the ties that bind us are not just romantic ones. Also she was just super cute
Tumblr media
Favorite Secondary Male Character: Could have picked anyone from Team Himbo in Alchemy of Souls, but gonna have to give this one to Go Won, himbo prince of my heart
Tumblr media
Favorite Ship: Again, it's gotta be Gil-Chae and Lee Jang-Hyun in My Dearest. Sometimes, there are drama couples that nearly cause me pain when they are apart, and these two quickly became one of them. Though their relationships is hardly functional for much of it, through all that push and pull, they ultimately learn how to show up for each other. Also, their *chemistry* is insane!
Tumblr media
Favorite Secondary Ship: I loved Hye-Seong and Sung Joon, the B couple in Call it Love. Seeing the SFL grow more comfortable with herself after a truly shitty ending to her previous relationship was a nice respite from the hidden identity stress of the A couple in this one. I'm also a sucker for a good romance where you start to see someone you've long taken for granted differently. (Close Runner Up: Cho Won and Do-Yun in See You in My 19th Life)
Tumblr media
Favorite Platonic Relationship: Gil-Chae, Eun-Ae, and their maids, Jong Jong and Bong Doo, in My Dearest. I loved loved loved the relationship between these women in this drama, and part of the reason the second half of the drama suffered a bit for me is because of how far it moved away from this core relationship. They were ride or die for each other more than the majority of the men in their lives, and I loved that for them.
Tumblr media
Trope that Needs to Die: While I find murder plots in rom coms tedious at the best of times, homophobic murder plots are really not it. Quit it, y'all. It's not cute.
Dramas I Missed: Moon in the Day, The Story of Park's Marriage Contract, and Tell Me That You Love Me (grrr Disney+ on this one) are on the list for next year. I'm probably missing others.
Non-2023 Drama Spotlight: Finally went back and watched Do You Like Brahms? for a hit of Park Eun-Bin. A lovely, if also melancholy, slice of life romance that's just as much about what to do when a (career related) dream that you've worked really, really hard for just isn't going to come through as it is about the main romance. Also made me fall in love with Kim Min-Jae and his lovely deep voice, enough so that I also then went back and finally watched Dali and the Cocky Prince, which was also a treat. Recommend both.
Tumblr media
Most Looking Forward To: I continue to yearn for a Yumi's Cells 3, and who's to say if that one will ever come through, but I'm putting it out into the universe anyway. More realistically, I'm looking forward to the surprisingly stacked line-up of sageuks coming up, including Captivating the King and Love Song for Illusion.

kdramas i watched this month and what i think about them :
• hometown cha cha cha : this drama deserves a 5/5 rating for acting, plot, cinematography, script. this is a wonderful, comfort watch. you just cannot have enough of it in one watch. you NEED to rewatch it. (other dramas like this : i'll go to you when the weather is fine, soundtrack #1, welcome to samdalri, midnight romance in hagwon)
• taxi driver 1 : my friend suggested this to me. i love this. first of all let me talk about the female leads. OHMYGOD. this is basically about a taxi organisation who are also a secret organisation to fight crimes. i love the concept. (other dramas to watch if you liked this : a shop for killers, extraordinary attorney woo, wonderful world)
• see you in my 19th life : bro this drama had so much potential but idrk i'd give it a 3/5 maybe for the plot. i loved the acting. but the plot literally had so much potential to be better but it just felt off. (other dramas to watch if you liked this : a time called you, twinkling watermelon, 18 again, seasons of blossom, good day to be a dog, born again, goblin, midnight photo studio, destined with you, while you were sleeping)
• escape of the 7 + resurrection : kim soon-ok (writer) and joo dong-min (dir) slayed as always. like bro i literally felt so empty after watching penthouse. i HAD to watch this. the best thing i love about penthouse and this series is how the portray the characters. they're neither good nor bad. and i love how in the end they choose the ‘good’ side of them. plus, the plot twists had me dying. (other dramas like this : penthouse : war in life, pandora : beneath the paradise, lies hidden in your garden, mouse, born evil, cafe minamdang)
• born again : this drama is an absolute masterpiece. but. yes, BUT. the direction and cinematography was so weak like some of the scenes didn't even make sense. 5/5 for acting, plot. but the script could have been better. i mean honestly the plot is amazing. JUST AMAZING. there hasn't ever been anything like this drama. the actors absolutely devored but the direction bro. it was so ehe :(
• the atypical family : i started watching this because like it was being really popular in social media but i ended up binging it. it was amazing. like so good. this literally tells us why we DON'T need superpowers. like the concept of psychological disorders linked with their superpowers were really an amazing idea.
• hierarchy : wt actual fvck was this??? because i had SO MUCH hopes and excitement for this drama and it ended up being what — a 2/5? maybe. i liked the acting, but it wasn't a mystery drama at all. it was TOO westernised and it was just bland. just straight up bland. like bro a mystery/thriller set in highschool has so much potential to be good. eg : the pyramid game. IT WAS JUST A GOD DAMN MASTERPIECE.
• heartbeat : my blood boils everytime i remember this drama is literally THE MOST underrated drama of all time. if you need a good cry please watch it. it was just — WOW. like wow. i am literally at loss of words. idk. from the starting to the ending it was just WOW.
• midnight romance in hagwon : it is currently an ongoing drama. anyway, this is like one of those comfort dramas one goes to rewatch everytime they're down. it is just so cozy, and cute and amazing. i love it <3
• mouse : this. THIS. this altered my brain chemistry. dude wth was this????? this was just on another level. like after penthouse and escape of the 7, this is something one should definitely watch to fill the void in their heart. i cried so much bro this was so sad, and engaging and sometimes funny at the same time. i went through all the five stages of grief while watching it.
• highschool return of a gangster : this drama was STRAIGHTWASHED. ofc. why would they even show representation???? anyway i watched it because i loved the first episode but i hated the ending man. i hated it.
• hansel and gretel (movie) : literally deserves all the awards. you know what i mean. 5/5 for everything.
• destined with you : started watching it yesterday and im already halfway through. i love this bro. it is so funny ohmygod. and i absolutely love past lives and reincarnation tropes so this is a win-win!!
+ some jmovies i watched :
• monster : ion think i need to say something about this.
• re/member : loved this. 5/5 for everything. i loved the plot, especially how ‘loneliness brings people together to fight against the evil - which is literally their own loneliness’. i wish there was a part 2 of this movie tbh.
• the forbidden play : this shit messed with my head so bad, i literally had nightmares and couldn't sleep. no because this was horrendous. literally wtf???

Because I have no one in person that I can rant to about my thoughts on Cinderella and the Four Knights (2016), you guys get to hear my thoughts.
First, I put this show on because I had just finished Tomorrow (2022), and I needed something sappy and full of cliché tropes to help distract me from the emotional trauma. I did my best from episode 1 to try and guess who was endgame for Eun Ha-Won based on all of the stereotypes and the way the interactions between her and the Kang cousins were written, and I feel like my original thoughts would’ve been a better ending.
Also with the way that the characters were written, they really should’ve called it Cinderella and the Three Knights because the fourth “knight” wasn’t even really written to be a Love Interest in spite of him being one of the best characters (until stuff happens with his mother and then it’s like being disappointed by your longtime crush and wanting to smack some sense into them).
My thoughts on the characters, though:
Eun Ha-Won
I love her. She deserves the world. She is an absolute ball of sunshine in spite of all the shit she’s had to deal with and continues to deal with straight through to the final meeting she has with Chairman Kang. I think she’s gorgeous, and I hate that she thinks she’s not pretty just because of how the Kang cousins treat her vs Park Hye-Ji. She honestly could’ve made it through the whole show without a Love Interest and I would’ve liked that more than the actual ending. She’s strong physically, mentally, and emotionally. She’s very smart and wants to use what she knows to teach others. She’s so very devoted to family in spite of how her stepmom and stepsister treat her, and even more so how her dad treated her. I would’ve tried to woo her myself if I had been in the show.
Kang Ji-Woon
The bad boy/bully type, the enemies-to-lovers trope, the stalker’s enabler. This man constantly looks like a crying wet puppy, but not in a cute way. He tries to look so sad and pitiful, and he’s an asshole from the get go. From the very start where he rolls his eyes and tries to give Ha-Won his watch when she asks him to apologize for not buying all the food he asked her to prepare at the convenience store, and then scoffs and immediately assumes she’d do anything for money (without considering the fact that she’s dead broke and needs money to survive). You think maybe there’s a redemption when he gives her a bouquet of white roses on the memorial day (I forget what the actual name of that day is called) of her mom’s death. And then you see him being a whiny puppy stuck to the second female lead, enabling her stalker tendencies and hating everyone who doesn’t immediately make Hye-Ji happy. He hates Hyun-Min so much that he also decides to pursue Ha-Won just to make him miserable when he thinks they’re engaged, not even caring about how it might make Ha-Won feel. He keeps doing sweet and caring things that make you think “oh she’s finally breaking down his tough exterior”, and then he just turns around and is an asshole again. He abandoned both Ha-Won AND Hye-Ji on the side of the road on separate occasions and then thought just saying “oh sorry” would fix it. I get that his backstory is sad, and I get that Chairman Kang fucked him over and basically forced him to accept the fact that he’s family, but it’s no excuse for the way he treats everyone else. Also, man needs to learn how to comb his hair and maybe take some allergy medication so his eyes stop watering and his nose isn’t always red.
Kang Seo-Woo
The unrequited love, the pop-star, the male best friend trope. I love him, and I hate that the writers barely gave him a chance. He tried so hard so many times to tell Ha-Won that he liked her. He did so many things to care for her, wrote love songs about her, used his status as a pop-star to help draw crowds away from Ha-Won when she was getting bullied by the girls who thought she was Chairman Kang’s mistress, was a genuinely kind person to everyone including Ha-Won’s best friend, and tried so many times to confess. I wish the writers would’ve taken just a couple more lines to have him say “no, Ha-Won, I’m not writing a love song right now, I’m telling you how I genuinely feel about you” and actually given her a chance to consider him. He saw how much Ha-Won hated the spotlight she got while everyone thought she was engaged to Hyun-Min, and he let pictures of himself in a girls uniform go viral just to stop more pictures of Ha-Won from leaking to the press. At any moment, he could’ve just done with Hyun-Min did and asked Ha-Won to play along with the rumors of them dating, but he actually considered Ha-Won’s feelings (glaring at you, Ji-Woon) and lied about his own feelings to protect her. If I had to choose between the Kang cousins, I would choose Seo-Woo.
Kang Hyun-Min
The spoiled rich kid, the playboy, the fake fiancé, the one afraid to actually love, the object of the stalker’s affection. I wish he had been endgame. They set it up so well in the beginning for him to be endgame. You could tell from the moment he saw Ha-Won beat up the assholes at the bar/party for not paying for the pizza delivery, he was developing feelings. He could’ve easily gone back on his bet with his friends and asked any other girl to go to Chairman Kang’s wedding with him, but he chose to go after Ha-Won, and even went all the way to the convenience store just to try and get her attention. His shock at hearing about BOGO deals with the ice cream was honestly cute, and he was kind enough to sit down with Ha-Won and enjoy the ice cream in spite of being raised directly under Chairman Kang (who makes it very clear what he thinks of anyone who isn’t rich), and he’s actually nice to her. At the beginning he still has that playboy attitude, but even after offering her money to be his date (and being turned down, good job Ha-Won for holding true to your values), he still tries. He picks her up for the wedding, opens the door for her, treats her the way a gentleman should treat a lady (win for chivalry!), and gives her a chance to feel as beautiful as she is. He also is very up front and adamant with Hye-Ji that he wants nothing to do with her, but she keeps showing up and trying to make him feel guilty for not still liking her after having a crush on her when they were NINE YEARS OLD, and it’s been 10 years (she bugs the hell out of me but we’ll get to her). Hyun-Min also is thinking of Ha-Won when he asks Chairman Kang and Secretary Lee to keep it secret from the other Kang cousins that Ha-Won isn’t his real fiancé, because he trusts that they wouldn’t try to pull anything on someone who was already in a relationship (fuck you Ji-Woon for taking that personally and making Ha-Won uncomfortable and confused). He keeps Ha-Won company so she won’t be alone, he goes along with her missions until his pride gets in the way, he buys her a whole wardrobe of clothes because she keeps wearing the same tracksuit for god knows how many episodes and just genuinely tries to make her feel comfortable and taken care of so she can focus on the things she actually needs to do instead of just surviving. I wish that he had seen Ha-Won when she got dolled up in that black and blue dress, he would’ve fallen for her all over again. Unfortunately, the writers decided that the “childhood lovers/first love” trope was more important for Hyun-Min and Hye-Ji, and they had him go back to her even though she was being a stalker after he repeatedly said no. Also hella power move that the heir to the Haneul group in his early 20s would go stand before a board of directors and his grandpa’s wife to save his grandpa’s company after being a slacker playboy up until he met Ha-Won. I love him. I wish he had ended up with Ha-Won. Fuck the writers for putting him with his stalker.
Lee Yoon-Sung
The “fourth knight”, the secretary to the chairman, the by the book character. They never even gave him a chance to be considered a Love Interest, so it kept bothering me that they called it “…Four Knights” and then only made 3 of them potential LIs. He is the most efficient and down to earth of all the guys, he does his job exceedingly well, he respects the absolute hell out of Ha-Won and tries his best to make the Kang cousins respect her as well, he’s a master of tae-kwon-do, he’s deeply loyal to the chairman until a bigger issue comes up, and he’s a very obvious fan favorite. I was very disappointed that the writers made him side with Madame Ji even for the time that he did because he had been so against treating her as his mother after she abandoned him with an abusive drunk father 12 years prior, but I am glad his loyalty to the chairman won out. Also very happy that they included him in their friend group at the end, my man needs to learn to relax (but not with alcohol… my emetophobia did not appreciate the end of the drunk dinner…).
Park Hye-Ji
The second female lead. I cannot stand her. I hate that the writers even included her past the first couple episodes, and I hate even more than they ended up letting her win with Hyun-Min. She’s a very “woe is me” character who acts like she’s entitled to everyone’s attention, especially Hyun-Min’s, just because he gave her a ring when they were 9 and her family got along with the Kang family before her brother died. This girl spends 10 years pining over Hyun-Min after she has not seen or heard from him AT ALL in those 10 years, shows up at his house unannounced when he returns to Korea from studying abroad, constantly shows up wherever he is in public and just looks at him all sad and pathetic like he belongs to her and is cheating on her, she’s been told by him numerous times in basically every episode that he does not want her around and that she should give up even to the point where Hyun-Min has to threaten to never acknowledge her again, she hates Ha-Won for being close to Hyun-Min and then later Ji-Woon, she jumps from guy to guy after Hyun-Min’s threat starting with Ji-Woon because she knows it’ll piss off Hyun-Min the most, she assumes anyone who is nice to her must be in love with her and feels personally attacked and betrayed when they’re like “no I’m just a nice person, I don’t have feelings for you”, blames Hyun-Min for her being so sad and depressed when she’s the one who can’t just fucking get over him from when THEY WERE CHILDREN, constantly tries to make moves and get close to Hyun-Min on the trip and after she moves into Haneul House, and then turns around and is like “I never want to see you again” when Hyun-Min tries to treat her more kindly and tries to explain why he was being such a dick to her. And yet they end up together. Because “childhood love/first love” was more important to the writers than the fact that they made the second female lead a self absorbed entitled stalker. The only thing that comes to mind that puts her in a good light was when she let Ha-Won spend the night, but even that was reluctant and she only started being nice after Ha-Won admitted that the engagement was fake. She should’ve just taken the fashion scholarship to Paris and finally gotten out of the Kang’s lives. If she was alone in a foreign country she might actually learn to rely on herself instead of always expecting Hyun-Min or Ji-Woon to come running.
Hong Ja-Yeoung
Seo-Woo’s biggest fan, Ha-Won’s best friend, an absolute cupcake of a character. I want her to be my best friend. It did annoy me that at the beginning of the trip, she left Ha-Won to do stuff alone just because Seo-Woo wasn’t joining them, but my girl has Ha-Won’s back in every other situation. She was even willing to support Ha-Won and Seo-Woo when the scandal article was published saying that they were engaged when they weren’t. She also was determined enough to get close to her favorite pop-star that she came up with a plan to help him escape his fan girls by wearing her school uniform, and she managed to sneak some photos of him crossdressing as well that he later used to help Ha-Won. She’s been there for Ha-Won through everything and did whatever she could to help even though she herself didn’t have much. I am so happy for her that she gets to be part of Seo-Woo’s management team in the end.
Chairman Kang
Classist asshole who values highly skilled and charismatic employees, but continues to treat them like trash if they stop acting like employees. For him, money buys everything including people, and he has almost completely forgotten what it’s like to actually care about someone until Ji-Woon is on his knees in tears begging him to give his blessings to him and Ha-Won, bringing up how the chairman made his mom leave his dad to remind him of the horrible mistake he made in the past. Chairman Kang talks all the time about wanting the Kang cousins to act as a family, but doesn’t even act like a grandpa to them. He acts like a dictator by threatening to cut them off from everyone and everything if they don’t do exactly what he says. He has good instinct not to trust Madame Ji towards the end, but you would think after 4 failed marriages he would have some way of blocking any future wives from trying to take over the company. I’m glad he finally gave Ha-Won his blessing, but just the wrong cousin.
That being said! In spite of the endgame love interest and the stalker, the interactions were pretty cute and it was entertaining. It was much needed after watching Tomorrow. I’m going to acknowledge that canon has Ha-Won with Ji-Woon, but in my mind I will always pair Ha-Won with Hyun-Min or Seo-Woo, and believe that Hye-Ji would actually go away (and STAY away) after Hyun-Min rejected her at the wedding.

See You In My 19th Life Thoughts
I have seen all the episodes that have come out (6ep) for now and just wanted to share it as a person who also read the webtoon for years.
I do not mind small changes, like Chae Won being a florist (she just works in the office in the webtoon), however, I feel like the bigger ones are so unnecessary to the story especially when there is enough drama to go through.
♥ The first bigger change was, of course, the stepmom, I don’t know what she’s doing here and I do not really enjoy how they portrayed Seo Ha’s father. Yes, he is a mean and coldhearted CEO but he still loved Seo Ha’s mother. There are valid reasons why Seo Ha dislikes him so I don’t know how much we needed stepmom whom everyone hates.
I think the webtoon showed better the distance between son and father. A father who’s a workaholic and will risk anything for his company and a son who is grieving his friend’s death after a long time has passed.
♥ The second thing that I do not like is how if you tell someone that you met in your past life they become sick. I hope they get rid of this idea and we will not go into unneeded drama, again, there is enough.
♥ Rather than disliking it, I’m more curious about the woman who goes around with Min Ki. Min Ki was in the webtoon but I’m not sure what they will do with the woman. I suspect that she’s Seo Ha’s mother but knowing the reason why Ji Eum keeps reincarnating it seems... Interesting... To say the least.
♥ I’m sorry but I do not feel any chemistry between Ji Eum and Seo Ha. Maybe it’s me just having a hard time still seeing Ahn Bo Hyun as Seo Ha but I just do not ship them. They do have moments but I don’t really care much about them. Cho Won and Do Yoon stole my heart though. I wasn’t sure about Ahn Dong Woo as Do Yoon but he’s nailing it and I enjoy every second of them.
I’m curious how they will do things... I do feel that some things are rushed but I get it it’s 12 episodes only. I also do know that in adaptations they will try to put a new spin-off of some things, I do not think it’s always necessary, and it’s not always a good thing.

The K-Dramas I've watched
Playful Kiss
Possibly the first kdramas i've ever watched, it was either this one or The Miracle. I enjoyed it at first but i found it was an adaptation of Itazura na Kiss and went to watch the other adaptations and hated the story as a whole. Also when I found the Thai version it was game over cus that version is so much better than the source material.
Weighlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo
It was cute!! And very funny, I don't have much to say about it tho.
Goblin
Ignoring the fact he is idk how many years old and she was 18-19 when they properly meet... it's kinda cute. And heartbreaking. The Goblin and Reaper duo is also just iconically hilarious.
Doom At Your Service
MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE EVER!! The writing is so good and the story is so beautiful and I mean, Park Bo-Young is one of my favorite actresses for a reason. I just cannot properly put into words how much i adore this show, honestly.
While You Were Sleeping
How I meet both Suzy and Lee Jong-Suk and i loved them and their characters both so much. The story was very engaging too.
Strong Woman Bong-Soon
Park Bo-Young and Park Hyung-sik <3 Do Bong-Soon and Ahn Min-Hyuk <3 They were too good in this man, I'd love to see them in another drama together. One thing that felt uncessary to me was the gangsters and their whole screentime, it just wasnt entertaining or important to the story afjsahfkdagj
True Beauty
Very funny, very entertaining. Also how I feel in love with Cha Eun-woo. Also yes I loved Seo-jun but it made a lot more sense for Joo-kyung to be with Su-ho, me thinks.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo
Entertaining but the depiction of mental disabilities is really just... atrocious. It's a little hard to rewatch tbh.
Business Proposal
Kim Se-jeong is a treasure. And this show was very funny and cute.
Alchemy Of Souls
Amazing, showstopping, spectacular, no wonder it was so popular.
My Only Love Song
Also one of the first ones i've watched, hilarious too. But i dont remember thinking much about the romance tbh. At least it's on the shorter end so if you dont feel like committing to 16+ 1-hour long episodes, this is a good one
W: Two Worlds
I. LOVE. THE. CONCEPT. OF. COMIC CHARACTERS. BEING SELF AWARE!!!! It's so interesting and I think W explored it so well, I'd love more kdramas like it.
The Miracle
I remember very little about this one lol but i do remember the over fatphobia, like yes its what the show criticizes but i remember feeling so uncomfortable watching it. it's been like 7 years tho so i cant properly talk about it
Extraordinary You
comic book characters being self aware <3 also think this was did a fantastic job with that concept. it also made me cry so badly, my heart still aches for Haru and Dan-Oh
Pinocchio
This is the one last one I finished, and I binged it. Was not expecting to be so enthralled by a drama that's essencially about news reporting but I was.
Why Her
Reccommend to me by a close friend who adores pain... I was also not expecting to be so engaged with this one but I was and it was so painful, omg but so so good!
+ unfinished ones
