This reminds me of when N (VIXX) gathered the members around in the dorm livingroom late at night to eat "delicious food" (it was mostly brownies, apples, milk and some other fruits). Fnaf 3 (and probably 6 too) being set in 2023 is really funny because you'll have random things like "It's highly probable Michael watched Barbie" pop in your head from time to time and I think that's neat

To also go off of the point about cop!akihiko being annoying to me I gotta say that Akihiko as a character is very hit or miss with me because of how different adaptations of p3 will subtly alter his character. I felt like in portable with the femc route he comes off best, he’s a bit of a hothead with an obsession with fighting, but he’s overcompensating his strength so he doesn’t feel as weak and helpless as he’s been in many situations. He defines strength in a very literal sense, being physically strong and using that to protect others, but he’s lacking in emotional strength as a result. And in particular in this version I think he’s portrayed as a bit more goofy and sweet in a sense. He cares deeply for you as a friend and leader but he struggles with finding the words to describe how he feels. Hes kinda naive and gullible and has trouble noticing his surroundings. He has no clue what he’s doing but his heart is in the right place. I think he just comes off much more human and he has flaws, many many flaws, and that makes him all the more lovable

But then in other adaptations and spinoffs it’s like. They look at him through some hetero male bullshit filter and seem to view him as a lot more admirable and cool. Like in p3 dancing, theres literally an event where he’s talking with Junpei and Minato and they’re gushing about how perfect Akihiko is and how he doesn’t seem to have ANY flaws at all. And it becomes clear his inability to flirt with women just gets added as a way to make sure you, the Straight Male Player, don’t get insecure being next to such Perfection because at the end of the day, you’re still more charming and sexy than he will ever be because you’re better. It’s a “flaw” that’s only there to shield a sensitive male ego. And then in arena I mean, come on. He’s overly beefy and is a damn cop and travels the world and loves Protein™️ it’s his whole personality and he’s so clearly meant to be seen as hot but like, he’s just some shitty hetero male fantasy. Hes what the writers deem to be a Perfect Man that every guy wishes he could be, but don’t worry he’s still bad with women so you don’t gotta worry about him stealing your property- I mean, girlfriend!

And though I’ve not played reload and don’t really plan to anytime soon, judging from his social episodes they seem to have a similar problem. Akihiko comes off as a lot less approachable, like the year age gap is just too much of a barrier to get to know him properly. And he doesn’t have that dorky sweetness he has in portable, he’s just that perfect hetero male fantasy guy and don’t you fucking worry- he still has his protein powder with him

Okay I just have to say it but the ending of the Barbie movie and seeing how confused some people are by it reminds me a lot of the ending of Frozen 2. I have seen both be criticized for not being conclusive enough. But to me it is quite simple. Both movies show a woman struggling with not being satisfied with where she is in her life and trying to find out why. And both movies end with her deciding to live where she wants and do what she wants to do. Elsa and Barbie both have a transformation at the end of their movies where they make the call on what they want to do with their lives.

Idk if I agree with the notion that Scaramouche is "fully mechanical." He may canonically be a "mechanical puppet" but I don't think it means he is literally 100% mechanical.

Ei's story afterall mentions that the puppets are highly intricate lifeforms that can imitate EVERYTHING a human can do. Not to mention Ei used parts of herself to create the shogun puppet. Who's to say Scara can't have "organic properties" to him as well. They are both robots, but the ridiculously human kind of a robot.

Sure, he doesn't need to breath, but he can if he wants to. He can cry, he can feel pain, he can eat, taste and the interlude shows him with a cut on his face so he can probably bleed too. His character story 5 mentions how "his blood roiled in his ears" though I'm not sure how accurate this is considering it's the english translation, but he probably has "blood" of some sorts.

The interlude also mentions how his doll joints are made of "special properties" that fades into his skin overtime, to the point that he looks completely human. (Tho I like to think he still has doll joints on his ankles and wrists)

Also something interesting that Faruzan said in her hangout that might be worth considering in the future: Mechanical life forms are also made with alchemy.

Maybe The techniques of puppet making and alchemy aren't as mutually exclusive as we might think? 🤔 It's just speculation for now, but I believe Scara is a puzzling mix of organic and inorganic properties, even as a "mechanical puppet"

I just don't know where the whole thing with him being 100% mechanical thing came from, maybe I'm missing something, but that's not what I understood about Scara so far. He can still be soft and squishy okay!

saw barbie n honestly it was just like. ok. like a 6/10. there were some funny jokes and stuff but it feels like they were trying to send so many different messages at once that they never fully delivered any of them despite trying to spoon feed them to the audience and also the plot and pacing were just like. all over the place. which is to be expected bc yknow its a brand movie but still </3

A breath of freash air from the dark fantasy genre! I usually can't stomach most of them due to their tendency to get revenge fetish-y and/or being softcore hentais but Rising has the perfect balance between revenge and growth. Plus our MC isn't a weird pervert! Might be a grumpy money-grubber but treats all of his female companions well along with none of the child like characters being sexualized! In fact many of the stronger characters we come across are female! Double win for this genre!! Found family troupe also comes into play here(which is my personal favorite) and it doesnit seem like there's going to be any romance between the main charaters! All in all one of the few genuinely enjoyable dark fantasy isekais out there! Season 3 of the anime is rumored to be in the October line up this year so please go watch it if reading manga isn't your thing!

Mmm I see what you mean, but it's just that I see cis girl Kendall as having a very different relationship with Logan from canon Kendall, where she doesn't really need saving from her dad so much because he doesn't give a shit about her compared to Roman and Shiv. So her motivation would be more the ache coming from that lack, and I don't think she'd be able to convince herself that she's fine without his love or approval like Connor.

That said, she would still try to be outwardly rebellious and independent and that's probably what a lot of her relationship with Stewy would involve, but it just wouldn't work out because she needs to feel valued by her family and he isn't willing enough to play those games and let them take over his life. And yeah, I think she'd be put off by Tom being a suckup, kinda hating him for the same reason she's with him. It's just a push and pull of conflicting interests and emotions.

intresting.... i agree her relationship with stewy would be doomed because he isn't willing to play those games and would want her to tell her old man who doesn't even like her that much to fuck off, but still i feel like she simply wouldn't be attracted to someone like tom?? like, in my gut i feel like cis girl ken would have doomed relationships with headstrong men who come from their own money and don't need logan's approval because it's something she isn't familiar with and probably finds appealing in them. The downside is that those guys will eventually try to convince her to leave her abusive father behind fr both for her own sake and because they want to start a life with her but that quickly is the the beginning of the end in those relationships because ken isn't able to do that.

The thing is i personally feel like she would be miserable in a peter/caroline and tomshiv situation like, she would simply send tom packing like with jennifer in canon after tom meets logan for the first time.
