TGS UPTADE (Chapter Cover) ✨🎩

I love this one, I think it's my favorite cover until this point.

Jekyll has his old outfit I LOVE THE REFERENCES

Guys, ITS THE OLD DESING GUYS.

When I saw this cover, my first thoughs of it weren't the most pessimist, really

The colors are soft and lighter, and the place looks beautiful and peacful, it gave me nostalgic vibes but I mostly felt... Comfort

So I though this chapter would be the star of the final redemption arc of Jekyll's and Hyde's relationship, the chapter where all their fight would finally end for good and start to actually accept themselfs and work together as a team

I interpret Hyde's expression as a "Wait what!?" Reaction to actual self-love coming from Jekyll, and read the name of this chapter as something of "We are a team! We are together in this! So if one of us goes down, we are going down together! I would never ever leave you alone!" Like a thing of friendship or Brotherhood even.

But after reading the Comment Section in the page, I finally notice that something was off in the cover, a simple detail telling that this may not be a 'end of the conflict' type of chapter

And that simple detail...

It's Jekyll

I really hope he goes insane in this chapter, like ACTUAL insanity, I love when a calm character goes through a 'madness arc' and sadly I don't see it often so I WANNA SEE SOME GOOD SHIT.

Jekyll is grabing Hyde's clothes very strongerly, you can feel the anger on his grabing and how close he puts his face towards Hyde's.

His body says "I'm about to kick this asshole's ass"

But the thing is that he is also... Smiling. You can't see his eyes but there is a shadow on them that you can tell something it's not okay, something it's wrong with Henry but not in the "Poor victim" type that we always had see him before, on the whole comic

But in "This man is dangerous" type

So, with that grin and his body looking agressive towards Hyde, you can said Edward may be in danger in this chapter.

Predictions~

Now, everybody agrees that the place we were shown it's actually part of Jekyll's mind, a memory actually. So, I think that somehow Jekyll and Edward will both go inside their memories, to see what were the events that lead them to this specific moment

Maybe with Frankestein's help, in a intent of her to understand the experiment's true nature, also trying to help Jekyll and Hyde to they can finally understand it too (THEY ARE TAKING A THERAPY SESSION TO A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL)

Or

They go both inside their own memories because the transformation got worse, and now their body is unconsious, so it would be only Jekyll and Hyde alone inside their mind, finally being able to stand in the same room at the same time, and netheir of them knowing what will happend outside, now that Frankestein knows their secret and the mob it's still out there

So of course, Henry wouldnt have someone who could help him and calm himself, so he is blaming Hyde for the situation as Hyde avoiding the accusations and also blaming Henry too. The rest of the chapter would be about them looking at their memories and reflecting about their actions

But of course, I can imagine two final scenarios happening, based on the scenario shown on the cover actually happening. They finally go together to see a old memory, and they are both close to the cliff, seeing the place

So, Henry finally has the conclusion of blaming Hyde for all the situation, and snaps angst him, deciding to end this just right there, now that he is able to touch and feel Edward's skin as if he had his own body, as a another person he can fully touch

So there is two options:

Jekyll's grabs Hyde's clothes and makes both of them jump to the water, accepting the death as a end but making sure to drag Hyde with him as well, so it feels actually worth it. Of course this being a moment similar to Hyde's ephifany when he is told that he could take down Jekyll as well.

But of course, in this case we'll see Jekyll's perspective to this words "Taking you down with me" (I love how similar they are, even if they turned out to be so different from each other, somehow they are still the same person)

Or, there is this other option. Jekyll actually dosen't jump to the cliff but instead, he shove Hyde to the cliff in a intent of murder him, being mostly like a metaphoric suicide rather than a direct one (Because they are the same person after all). The reason why Jekyll is also jumping in the cover may be a symbolic jump as "Going insane/Jumping the cliff of sanity" for doing something so brutal that the normal and sane Dr Jekyll wouldnt do... Push a person on a cliff, to kill them. So not only this would be a intent to kill Hyde but at the same time accidently murder the person he used to be, the good Dr Henry Jekyll

(Jekyll also jumping can be more like of "how he feels" rather than something literal, he feels atrap and his only company is Hyde, and I dare to say he is the person Jekyll hates the most at this point).

Of course, in any scenario, nethier of them would actually die (yet) because there is like two chapters left to finish this comic, duh

But I like to think about the Second Option. Because it could also explain those spoiler images Sage share in their social media a while ago

There it was another one with Jekyll with a lot of bottles around but I couldn't find it.

Because I think it would fit in. After pushing Hyde on the cliff Jekyll goes out and takes back the body's control and fix the angry mob problem, thinking he has done right in killing Hyde, when actually you can see that he dosen't has his normal eyes anymore but now has Hyde's bags in him (Of course, it could be for the fact that he climp up the society to get in the roof, but I don't think he would like to being seen very tired) meaning that Jekyll has change, in a more hyde-like way. Hyde is not death, and Jekyll's actions will have more consequences, as long they keep fighting each other there will be no end to their problems.

So, this is the tgs UPTADE. I like everyone in the fandom started to make theories like crazy and I love every single one of them.

Now I don't know if I'm just old, or I just don't go to the right websites anymore because the internet has become 3 websites that we all hate due to capitalism, but I really wish people would do more fun shit like that again. I think it makes perfect sense for Davesprite to refuse to show the Cal-o-meter. For one thing, it provides contrast to how John's Grimdarkness meter and Rose's Radiance meter were always there when it needed to be shown, which shows the difference in how Davesprite deals with his problems compared to the other two. For another thing, it shows his awareness as a sprite as meters are typically a video game mechanic. so. squid blood transfusions. could it happen????? they dont have blood types to complicate it because they dont have red blood cells or a hemocyanin equivalent (blue blood cells?) cause their blood protein is just dissolved in the blood. so like. could you hypothetically do a blood transfusion between squids. the world needs to know.

I fell down a research rabbit hole so lemme take this from the start.

1. What 'bout them blood transfusions?

So in order to take blood from a donor your blood types have to be compatible. Your blood type depends on the antigens displayed on the surface of your red bloodcells. The antigen receptors in you blood are located on the surface of B-Cells and T-Cells. If they recognise antigens not present on your own red bloodcells they trigger an immuno response (as to why a blood transfusion with a non-compatible blood type is so dangerous for you)

There are 36 different systems in which you have a blood type, the ones most relevant being the ABO and Rh Systems, these make up the blood types you know like A-, O+, AB-, ect.

2. What the fuck is wrong with squid blood???

The blood of most invertebrates is not red, they don't have red bloodcells and transport the oxygen through their body in different ways than us. Notably, Octopi, squids and cuttlefish use blue haemocyanin. This has lead to their blood often being falsely labelled as blue, even though its more translucent.

Technically yes. From what I've figured. Though obviously theres other factors of complication that I might have overlooked/misunderstood and as I said the field is still very much left unexplored.

The many reminders that kerry is sleeping with logan but also suddenly a reminder about greg's gay dad?? And then tomgreg being so close talking about sexual encounters like WHY do you wanna know the details so much tom?? And greg not being able to admit that he cum, which means he definitely didn't, and then when greg confessed it to logan he made it sound like bridget was the one who jumped him by being eager and under the influence lmao tom immediately talking shit about bridget and then greg also disapproving of her behavior when she tells them she asked logan for a selfie ashffjfkgll I can't, the fact he didn't even know her last name and admits to tom that she's just 'another name in the list' but tells kerry and colin that he's fond of her? So, I wake up today, find this message, check the tag and conclude: What the fucking hell?

Rocket-scientist was one of my Tumblr friends, not a close but a more casual one, and people actually pushed her to delete. That is nasty.

Now, I don’t know what exactly happened, but I assume that she commented on PB’s new Friday book, demanding to know what this’ll mean for BB, since it was a Friday book as well. As the only one who doubted the return of BB publicly, she had been receiving hate for who knows how long, and now it apparently escalated. There are numerous posts in the tag, some more and some less educated, some more and some less disrespectful.

Why the hell would she harass and threaten writers? Stop portraying PB as gods, because they aren’t. Are they good writers? Of course. Are they creative? No doubt. Do we like Choices? Well, obviously! But that doesn’t make them good people. Rocket isn’t the only one who has negative experiences with PB. A friend of mine has, too, and I have myself. Stop praising them like gods. They are story liners who are getting paid, and who do a great job, creating fascinating stories of good quality. But good stories don’t make good people.

Rocket herself has been told in October by one of the writers that they never planned to write BB 2. Believe that or not, that’s on you. But don’t send people hate, neither publicly nor on anon mode, for making their opinion clear. I understand that many people found it annoying, because she used every opportunity to state it, but, unlike any other BB stan, she at least fought for what she wanted, and made it clear that there was a demand, that many fans would gladly invest in BB.

Rocket had clear reasons to believe BB 2 isn’t being written and she was free to state them. The fandom is diverse enough for dissidents to ignore what they don’t like. How many angry posts and jokes about Vega have I ignored? How many Adrian fanfics am I ignoring to this day? It may be annoying at times, but it doesn’t give me the right to shit on the people who request and write Adrian fanfics just because I don’t want to read them. In the same way, people who stan villains don’t want to be shit on either.

I am mentioning the post of @yall-play-it-cool right here, because I got mentioned in theirs (thank you for appreciating my work, it means a lot!). I agree with its core, but I’d like to bring attention to the fact that some people have no idea how much a story or character can influence a person’s life. I can’t stress this enough. Most people in the fandom have a character they love in every book, but that’s not the case for everyone. For example, Rocket and I only love one character from one book, and that, to an extreme amount. Apparently, people can’t understand that and say shit like “It’s only an app, lmao”. No. It’s more than that to some of us.

I definitely didn’t know Rocket very well, but I believe one hundred per cent that BB helped her manage her depression. The fact that some people ridicule that is nasty. I’m truly sorry for whoever doesn’t have enough empathy to put themselves into her shoes and to understand that BB’s absence has a significant impact on her well-being. I have no idea in what way Rocket has apparently “harassed” or “threatened” any writers, but the way I know her, she wouldn’t do that and I believe her when she says it’s fake.

Some posts in the tag regarding the issue are so damaging, created by people who didn’t know her and had no idea about the entire issue, but who are apparently only here to shit on anyone whose opinions are negative or different. Most of them are parrots who repeated what once has been said; that BB 2 is coming and that it should rather take a long time and be good than be rushed and crappy. These parrots repeated their shit every time Rocket spoke up even now that she has deleted, while none of them know better than her. She used her voice to make a change while they used theirs to silence her.

Worse than those people who know nothing and solely repeat what they picked up somewhere is that “””poem””” about someone asking for BB 2 and being told to die. What the fuck??? Do you have any idea what impact your words have on people??? I’m not tagging the creator, because they way I know her, she’s a nice person, and I don’t want to start drama on this blog. However, my advice is to delete it, because it’s obviously harmful as hell. People with a big reach can apparently post anything and a mass of people will support them and blindly share their opinions. This is not okay.

In any case, the damage has been done. It’s sad to see that someone who was solely repeating an opinion rather than others who are admiring PB blindly was bullied to the point of deleting. She’s considered deleting her account before, but I never thought it’d actually escalate the way it did. Not only is it sad because she was a very passionate Kamilah stan and a great writer, but it is sad on a humane level, because someone who already had depression was bullied out of a community that was supposed to be accepting, solely for repeating an opinion. I have no way to contact Rocket, but I’m praying she’s okay.

Everyone who contributed to this should be ashamed of themselves. You might have bullied someone into suicide.

I have seen some of their posts on my dash so I was aware of the type of content they post, but I wasn’t aware that it was in the main tags because I never go in there anymore, to be honest.

Though I don’t condone posting negativity of that nature in the main tags, I’m also gonna have to say that I don’t condone accusing people of being antis just because they have an opinion you may disagree with. As far as I’m concerned, an anti is someone who harasses, threatens, attacks, makes false accusations about and/or starts arguments with people who like a ship or character that they see a problem with. Not liking a ship and making posts about that, in my opinion, does not warrant calling someone an anti because that label carries very negative connotations that I don’t think this person deserves applied to them.

As far as I’ve seen, they’ve only ever made (rather well though out, in all honesty) posts about why they dislike a particular thing. In fact, I’ve chatted with them privately before and they seem like a nice, reasonable person to me. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve never seen them harass, insult, engage with or openly antagonise or accuse fans of that thing at all. (Again, if I’m wrong, please let me know because I am under NO circumstances okay with anyone doing that for any reason.)

However, having said that, I also don’t think it’s very considerate to post anti-ship/character posts in the main tags (that includes the Tokyo Ghoul/Tokyo Ghoul:re tags and especially the tags of the ship/characters in question). Scrolling through the TG tag on their blog, it doesn’t look like they’ve made any posts like that for a while, but I would kindly ask @lalody not to post anti-ship/character posts in the main tags in the future, assuming that is something that they’ve done in the past. It’s inconsiderate and makes the fandom an unpleasant place to be, especially if someone wants to check out a tag to see content of something they like or ship only to see negative posts about that thing.

As a community, I think it’s important for us to make the fandom a welcoming and enjoyable place to participate in. In my opinion, that does not mean stopping people from posting negative things about certain aspects of the series or even the series as a whole; if you dislike something and want to vent frustrations on your blog, then that’s completely fine, but I just ask that you don’t tag those posts in such a way that they show up in the main tags so you’re able to vent your frustrations with your followers while still allowing fans to enjoy their ships and characters (again, that includes the tokyo ghoul/tokyo ghoul re etc. tags as well as character and ship tags).

This post is getting long so I’m going to wrap up in a bit, but I also want to take this opportunity to mention again something that a lot of people do simply because they don’t know about this. Words used in the post itself will make the post show up in tags. (So if you say “tokyo ghoul” in your post but don’t tag it #tokyo ghoul, it will still show up in the tags.) That means that tags like “anti-tokyo ghoul” will also show up in the tokyo ghoul tag, so don’t tag that either! The best way to avoid your post showing up in the tag without having to tiptoe around using certain words is to slash them up. If you wanna say “hidekane” in your post, say “hide/kane” or “h/idekane” or whatever you want that breaks up the word so it doesn’t show up in the tag.

This obviously isn’t obligatory or something that I can force people to do, but if you want to be a considerate person and maintain a positive space for people to discuss things they enjoy, I would strongly encourage you to do so.
