Two sexy vampires walk into a bar.
Previous / Next
Helena: I feel like literally everything is hanging out.
Lilith: You’ll draw the men like flies to honey.
Helena: That’s a good thing?
Lilith: For our purposes, it’s a very good thing.
Helena: [telepathically to Caleb] Help me.
Lilith: Last chance, baby brother! Sure you don’t want to tag along?
Caleb: [telepathically to Helena] You’ll be fine. Don’t let her bully you.
Helena: [telepathically to Caleb] [mental eye roll] You’re one to talk.
Caleb: [tersely] I’m good here, thanks.
Lilith: Suit yourself!
-
Lilith: Try to keep up, fledgling.
Helena: [shouting] It’s not fair when you give yourself a head start!
Lilith: I’m not the one who’s been slacking on my training.
-
Helena: You know, plasma fruit’s not so bad once you get used to the taste.
Lilith: My god, he’s already got you indoctrinated.
Helena: [crossly] I’m not brainwashed. But the only alternative you’re offering is cold-blooded murder, and you still haven’t explained why that’s necessary. If you only took a little-
Lilith: Remind me, Helena. How well was that working out for you? Did you ever feel truly full? Was there ever a single moment when the thirst wasn’t at the forefront of your mind? Your silence speaks volumes. Let me put it in human terms. You were restricting yourself to a handful of almonds a day when what you really needed was at least a three-course meal. Your body is starving, and it always will be so long as you resist fully nourishing it. Plasma is better than nothing, but the ache in the pit of your stomach will be constant. Caleb likes to pretend he doesn’t feel it, but I’ve seen inside his mind and you have too. We both know it’s there.
Helena: But if it’s just about the blood, there are other ways to get it. Hospitals, blood banks, volunteers, [gulps queasily] animals.
Lilith: All perfectly acceptable supplements, yes. I have my sources. Our refrigerator hardly stocks itself. But the truth is every cell in your body now is optimized for attack. You’re a predator by nature, and it takes stamina to resist. A few weeks is nothing. Are you prepared to deny yourself for an eternity? [lowers voice seductively] Don’t lie to me, Helena. It felt good, didn’t it, in that moment you finally let go?
Helena: I don’t want to talk about that.Lilith: You were driven by pure instinct, and you loved it. You felt free. You felt alive. You felt whole. [smirks knowingly before slithering off barstool] I’ve found our mark. Wait here while I reel him in. It shouldn’t take long.

you know the contrast between how Vergil is presented vs thinking too hard about Vergil’s story is pretty funny. Man’s reputation is this iconic badass, the pinnacle of what video game rivalries can be, the coolest guy to play as, the guy who breaks every game he’s added to,
and then you go to the story and like. man’s lost his free will and autonomy at 19 and then came back a fractured man half of which was a lovecraftian eye beast the other half of which was a chronically ill goth man. and then he reunites and hes in like his 40s now I believe but legit the last time he was actually in a game where he wasn’t being mind controlled when he was 19 which is both sad but also thinking about how this guy who’s considered one of the top badasses of gaming has never really lived life outside of being a teenager.
Anyways this is the secret comedic potential of post DMC5 for Vergil because not only has the human world probably changed a fair bit in terms of technology, if he’s sticking around Dante he’s gonna actually have to learn in depth how taxes and grocery shopping work. Amazing.

reminiscing about a year ago with carrot
it's pretty obvious that i love dazai but also like. i did NOT get the appeal of him until i started reading the light novels, but specifically 15-stormbringer.
like when i was getting into bsd i latched hard onto atsushi (this was before i started actively making art and also before i met chuuya) so all dazai was to me was 'guy who'd be relevant for atsushi's arc' and then ranpo also stole a place in my heart and then dazai was 'guy who is not quite as cool as ranpo' and then i started really caring about him after i got attacked by chuuya with a steel chair. guilty as charged.
but also dazai's sorta fun to draw, a very generic, cookie cutter anime boy design can be appealing in a way. and the fun part of bsd fanart is that everyone dresses like grandparents.

This might be very dnd noob of me but the idea of an elven warlock who’s patron is just peepaw archfey who likes to keep in touch with the grandkids is so funny to me
Like it’s not malicious or anything gramps just likes it chaotic and finds the best way to fuck shit up is giving his favorite grandkids access to eldrich blast and fireball at a Very young age
The pact itself would just be like “have fun be safe kiddos do you promise?” They nod and bam suddenly this 15 year old elf can conjure fires on purpose
The only demands would be things like cast a sending to your mom it’s been a week, eat something will you you look thin, and go visit your cousins in waterdeep I want to know how they’re doing

some thoughts about GSC's chapter 145 of volume 14 (i sound like a nerd here)
this contains major spoilers about certain canonical character relations so keep that in mind if you want to read
soo like this scene right
part of me wants to extend this scene a little longer, for gold and silver to speak about the experience they had to go through just now.
so first of all, they got hammered by the masked man (until they were saved by entei) and were rendered unconsious. gold wakes up with an aching pain on his knees, and a few of his gear went missing (his hat, bag, and a shoe). silver wakes up and explains to gold how they were miraculously saved by something.
silver almost concludes that they would've died. let's just say that silver did complete his sentence on that statement (because gold cut him off here)
what if that thought really clicked to gold, that he really almost could've died from the masked man's doing? gold was almost wiped out of his existence for pete's sake. he lost his bag, his hat, his gear. a lot of things. he must be so grateful to be alive.
he can't imagine what would've happened if she finds out he's a goner. he probably had to sit still for a moment, and thank silver for being with him. he expresses how maybe he's gone a bit too far in trying to pursue something "only adults" would do. but he was only just a kid with big goals.
he realizes that he misses her, a lot. the throbbing pain on his knee would remind him of how she would always be there to aid his reckless self and still be the loving sister he knew he had. now he's alone in a cave, it must be cold, dark and scary. he feels unsafe, without her to make him feel better.
silver can't help but feel, some sort of jealousy with how gold muses about his sister. he's missing his sister. does silver even have someone who's out there, waiting for him to be okay? perhaps one person, or even two - but they parted ways now.
he feels envious about gold, knowing that there's someone out there waiting for him with open arms, would he ever get that reciprocation back? only time will tell
but now's not the time to cry over spilled milk. they had to get out of this dark cave - they still have a lot of things to do.

there are blorbos where it's like you go on AO3 and you're like 'wow it's so incredible that so many people can have so many different insights & opinions about the same character & so many different and creative opinions'
and then there are blorbos where you go on AO3 and it's like watching the meanest most aggressive kid on your block play with your most favorite doll and they're like swinging it around by its hair and trying to get their dog to gnaw on its legs and you just wanna scream 'I don't like how you're playing with my toys!' and bite them and take your doll back
