i was thinking it would be fun to run an IT fandom event of some kind! is anyone interested in this? is this already happening and i have no idea? please let me know!

i've never really been personally involved with fandom... before the creation of strangesickness i usually just dropped fics and then disappeared for another six months without talking to anyone so i don't really have any idea what i'm doing... BUT i had some ideas i thought might be fun:

a comment fest with bingos specific to IT like what feedthefandomfest has been doing (i recommend looking through their blog! very cool :])

character/ship/etc weeks with various prompts, topics i thought might be interesting were the years in between, alternate universe, or miniseries/book.

a fanwork appreciation event where there are different prompts and then you create a rec list of all your favorite fanworks that match that prompt.

again, i really have no idea what i'm doing, but i think it could be fun! if you're interested or have ideas please please please send me a message or ask (absolutely not asking for any sort of commitment, i just want to get ideas going and maybe see what could work/what people would be interested in)!

Ok so I’ve had this really dumb fic idea just ruminating in my mind for years centring around (AOS) spirk (obvs) but mostly around Spock.

How my idea comes about changes but basically something ‘The Naked Time’-esque happens resulting in Spock having limited control over his emotions and reactions and it slowly being revealed that he is just…not straight. Like, in no way, shape or form can this guy be for real. Like oh my god how is he even dating Uhura?!?!(Or they already broke up but I like the idea of Uhura noticing and them talking about how he might feel more logical being in a hetero relationship but he’s lying and it’s not healthy etc etc).

I imagine the changes to be gradual and only strange to those closest to him, but definitely getting more and more noticeable. Maybe the way he talks starts to change, or he starts SMILING every now and then. He might up his make-up ante or start dressing differently. His mannerisms might become just a bit more camp at the beginning. Maybe I’m just inspired by that one photo of Zachary Quinto, but I can definitely see him start just laying/splayling around the rec room or bridge consoles. Iced latte in hand, shades on. Honestly, the possibilities are endless. There is so much more I could say!!!

Whether this is just targeted at Spock or spreads around the ship changes in my mind. Like it could be contagious, it could not. It could be a contact virus, spores, psychic attack or an early effect of Pon Farr or some other secret Vulcan thing. Or maybe he’s just drunk or under the influence of some drug! I really like the idea of only Spock starting to act outrageously (for him) but having multiple crew members start reacting subtly different until they figure it out also makes sense.

Honestly, I just feel like aos Spock is criminally underserving cunt and this could be rectified!!!!!!!

I was looking at the description of items in the Robert G. Moch collection on Archive West's website and noticed a chunk of photos taken while Bobby was traveling Europe following the Olympics.

Of the photos, three listed were taken of his father's childhood home. Notes written by Bobby are in italics and a description of the image is in the brackets;

And because I love research, I spent a brief amount of time looking at Gaston Moch's relatives so that I might identify how they specifically relate to Bobby. I put together a little family tree and discovered Bobby primarily spent time with his two Aunts and their children, his Cousins. I added the birth years of Bobby and his cousins as well as the years his grandparents and uncle passed.

so my next plan for sons of the forest was to use mods so i could get infinite health (i'm rapidly giving up on the idea that i'll be able to fight my way through the game even with enemies on low health/aggression/armor), but now i've run into a new problem.

i have no idea how to use mods on PC games other than the sims 3/4. the mods page i found says i need a different program to run the mods, but i couldn't find a proper tutorial for installing that initial program.

so, uh. gotta go read up on that, i guess.

Usually when I have a specific idea in mind, I'll write out that scene and see if I can turn it into a full fanfiction.

There's this one idea that's haunted me for the past 3 weeks, I have written a million different scenes for it.

It's over 7000 words yet I can't piece any of it together.

The very basic idea is what if Donny became selectively mute after the crap he saw in SAINW. I think what I'm struggling with is the fact that there's no particular plot I can follow. It's just following the random moments where Donny starts recovering and doing therapies to reclaim his speech.

I can't figure out a beginning for the life of me. I have fallen in love with this idea but I can't get everything to align up.
