End of an era

The end of an era.

Something about it is so bittersweet, that the tears start to flow by themselves. Every time I think of the people I knew and the experiences I had, everything in that place I held so close to my heart, things in that place only I knew of. It’s a different type of pain to know that it won’t be there for me anymore, the place that sheltered me for 10 years, the place where I met the people who made me who I am, the place where I will leave the people who brought back who I was. I can barely think of the memories, yet I seem to remember so much; I seem to remember what I felt so much. The pain doesn’t pierce my heart like a steely knife, it ebbs and flows through my bloodstream, embracing me as a whole. I realise now that it’s not the memories you make, it’s the things you feel. So, don’t make memories, don’t strive to remember, but, just feel it. Feel it, and it’ll immortalise itself in the evocations of your ailing mind.
