Genuinely curious, what’s up with Noir’s age? And what does it have to do with his 08/09 run? ((You may ignore if you wish :D))

i no longer have to do an extremely long explaination about comics noir because it has already been done here, by foolsocracy!!!!!!! really great breakdown of his very vague age, which is never said outright in the 08-09 run, only implied!! my own personal take on this is that he's 17-turning-18 in the first one, just about graduated high school but not able to afford college (see the panel below LOL)

this also got a little longer than i thought it would, so under the cut for the rest of it! the tl:dr is "itsv!noir is not the same as comics!noir, and people saying that he's 19 isn't strictly true. to me, he's around 30!"

eyes without a face (the 09 run!!) only takes place 8 months after, in september 1933, which makes peter 18-turning-19. this is more of a headcanon though!! (see the noir birthday poll, which made me a noir-is-a-december-baby truther)

(peter being a libra is mentioned once in the first issue of amazing spider-man (2015), mostly as a punchline, and a specific date of october 10th was given in another issue that i have lost. other media, like with the mcu, has his birthday on august 10th. but to me noir is a sagittarius and you cannot pry that from me)

the 2020 run of noir begins establishing the year as 1939, making peter around his mid-20s, and 25 if you believe me on the 'peter was 17 in noir 2008' LOL.... i won't lie though i haven't read this one properly i very quickly skimmed so pinch of salt regarding my takes on the 2020 run

noir being in his teens during the first original runs is why "itsv!noir is 17-19" goes around so often! i've seen that on tumblr, twitter AND on tiktok and i don't mind what people hc, but it has become a pet peeve when people say it like its canon even though it's never been mentioned by the writers or the art book. itsv!noir is similar to his comic counterpart, but his differences in his origin story make me interpret him as a different noir (like how peter b.'s dimension is 616B, making him... 90214B?)

again, we are straying from itsv canon/etc here because i'm deranged, but i personally hc noir as being 32! some of my friends think he's in his mid-20s, others think he's older, but really the only reason is that 32 is the midpoint between the other two peter parkers: ripeter was 26 and peter b is 38. he's also voiced by nic cage, which makes me think older in the first place!

i just like the idea that he's more experienced that ripeter, but hasn't gone through as much as peter b. he spends most of the movie being broody ("moral ambiguity of your actions!", "matches burn down to my fingertips", etc etc), or snarkier than you'd expect ("it's that easy" "who are you again?" "you gonna fight or are you just bumping gums" etc etc). he also very sweetly tells everyone that he loves them before he leaves !!! i feel like it can in fact be in character for a peter parker in his late 20-early 30s, distanced from his tragedies in his own world by time (he doesn't forget them, that's different !) being able to look out for the spiders around him.

okay now we are VERY deep into hc territory, but it makes him able to balance out the rest of the itsv spider-gang as an older-brother figure who's able to guide peni, miles and gwen but also be able to act as a voice of reason for peter b. and ham if the sitauation calls for it. that being said noir is still peter parker and is therefore capable of spider-esque tomfoolery, which can lead to him misjudging the need for a snarky one liner ("this is a pretty hard core origin story"). my characterisation of him is also very inspired by heyitsspiderman, the itsv fic that changed me for the better, and noir isn't even in it that much LOL

veering back into itsv!noir's age and your actual question though: he's always read older in the movies, and not at all 17-19. noir is always going to be around 30 (32 if i have to give a number) to me!! if anything, he did go through the same kind of 'canon events' as comics noir did, but is an older and more experienced version of him, with tweaks to the backstory (like a radioactive spider instead of a spider-god, and webshooters instead of organic webbing). there are reasons ofc to see him being younger (egg creams are non-alcoholic, and that if it's 1933, his comicsverse self would be 18-19 too) . however you must consider that sony didn't expand on this and therefore it's up to fan interpretation and also that

Mileena: Thoughts and Opinions

These are my thoughts and opinions on Mortal Kombat that a bunch of people probably won't care about, but I thought I should post them here. Now I will be using past games as reference, even though every character's interpretation/counterpart is different, they still play part to the canon storyline.

I always saw Mileena as eccentric rather than crazy. The eating people thing? She's not human and is a fang faced creature, we are not to be surprised.

Appearance: Now before Mkx the female characters were sexualized for marketing purposes, but a lot of the fandom recognises Mileena to be the go to when it comes to sexualization. Even when Mkx took the designs more seriously Mileena still has that flare of... marketing. In mk11 that goes out of the window. Now mind you, I like the costumes and skins for Mileena in this game, I'm a sucker for kimonos, and that kimono still has a titty window and comes off as more revealing than Kitana's. Even when you put Mileena next to Kitana, knowing what she looks like without the mask, she's still seen as the 'hotter one' out of the two.

I think it's just the fact they babied her. And when I say they babied her I don't just mean her childish attitude that is significantly different to mk9, I'm talking about her face model. In another post I headcanoned that Kitana is 17-19 in human years because I genuinely believe she looks like she's around that age. In the previous games Kitana and Mileena both look like they are in their mid to late 20's which is how they were able to get sexualized.

Because of the redesigns I think it retconned the interactions that took place between the characters.

Ships

I find it bizarre that most of the male roster roasts the hell out of her, yet have an undertone of flirting based on interactions I've seen. Now, that's probably me being delusional and pulling at strings just to make a ship happen, but it's there.

Mileena + Kung Lao (If I'm feeling bold), Liu Kang (If I'm feeling bolder), Kuai Liang, Hanzo (childhood ship), Takeda ("You can look but you can't touch"), Stryker (watched Sonic XD's mk9 sucks video), Erron Black (I mean he did date Nitara and Skarlet), Bi Han/Noob Saibot

Out of all these ships I've listed I feel the most strongly about shipping her with Bi Han. It's mainly because of a post I saw, which was based on a meme. 

Kitana: Am I ugly?

Liu Kang: No. 

Mileena: Am I ugly

Bi Han/Noob Saibot: Yes. 

Mileena and Bi Han are dating in this meme, btw. I think it was built on the fact that Bi Han can see her for the tarkatan she is but it doesn't disturb him. I don't think he goes out of his way to mock her, either, he's merely analytical of her. Following one of my headcanons, he takes things literal, meaning he has no intentions of harming her emotionally.

Yes, I ship him and Sereena, but I like to try new things.

They both have sibling problems and were killed unfairly. Mileena's crown was snatched from her while Bi Han was made a slave alongside Scorpion. You know, the guy that killed him. They fought Kabal together.

Oh, and they can both teleport :).

It could be argued that Noob has a better chance with Skarlet since she reminds him of Sereena, but I like her interactions with Sub Zero.

I'm starting to think I should write a yandere Liu Kang/Kung Lao x Mileena (one sided), I mean Kung Lao wanted Kitana too so he could see Mileena as some kind of replacement.

Family:

I think Shao Kahn does feel some kind of fatherly attachment to her, although I headcanon that he's a narcissistic father. In Mk11 story mode he was ready to kill D'Vorah the second he found out she killed Mileena. Protective dad. I think some of it comes from the father-daughter bond he has with Kitana. While Shao Kahn did say that he kept her around just to appease Sindel, he had no need to do that after her death, so he technically adopted Kitana just because he could. And then teenage rebellion kicked in and he had her replaced by Mileena.

"Where's this boldness been hiding, Kitana? Had you shown it before, I'd have no need for Mileena." I think Shao Kahn did care for Kitana but not in a way that his mind can fully address. But he prefers Mileena, as she's the version of Kitana that won't betray him. Even though Mileena was created as a replacement he still recognised her as an heir, and his daughter.

I also think Shao Kahn can't produce children... I mean I still see Skarlet as his adopted child. Dude's straight up just picking up daughters.

Bonus: Kitana

Kitana is just so out of pocket. Now to be fair, she reacted in a way that is understandable. If I found out someone cloned me and I was face to face with that clone I would freak out too. But it's what happens afterwards. Kitana claimed that Mileena attacked her when it was the other way around.

Now if we follow the events of mk9 and not the events that came before it, Kitana never got to even know Mileena, so that comment was uncalled for. Not only that, but Mileena was welcoming towards Kitana upon first meeting her. While she was created to replace Kitana, that was not her priority when she woke up and saw Kitana for the first time. It's very clear that Kitana has absorbed Shao Kahn's narcissistic habits.

Now with some interactions:

"So why must we fight again?" - Jade

"Where there are siblings there is rivalry." - Kitana

I think Kitana actually carries pride over being the pretty one. I also think she took pleasure in making Kung Lao uncomfortable.

Skarlet and Mileena should've had a bond of some kind that wasn't antagonistic. I already wrote a post about this some years ago on my old Tumblr account, but I deleted it so I have to start over with this post. In Skarlet's original story (before the retcon) she was created in the flesh pits and even appears a few times during the mk9 story mode, so by that alone Mileena and Skarlet have a connection.

In the retcon Shao Kahn is the one to teach Skarlet blood magic, but I always saw sorcery as Shang Tsung's speciality since Shao Kahn has his kingly duties to fulfil so I think it would be much more fitting if Shang Tsung taught her under Shao Kahn's orders, that way her and Shang Tsung have a bond of their own being teacher and student to compliment the fact that he created her back in mk9.

Now, Kitana has Jade so it was an opportunity to have an evil doppelganger situation with Mileena and Skarlet. They both like gore, they both hate Kitana because Kitana was mean to them, and they both don't like Jade. They both also have a thing for Sub Zero, which means they have similar tastes. They should get along. And for them to not get along I think it should've been the normal sibling dynamic where they would easily get into fights and do little things that annoy the other, but deep down are fond of each other. Something that counters Kitana and Jade's you're like a sister to me that you don't see real siblings experience.

If we're gonna follow the fact that they should get along, then Skarlet could've been the cool older sister. She had a boyfriend (Erron), she is good at what she does, and she's just as feral as Mileena but is more laid back. I can picture her helping Mileena with her makeup and her training. The sister that Kitana never was and refuses to be. On Skarlet's part it could be a thing where she remembered how it felt for Kitana to belittle her and for Jade to shun her for not being Edenian, and decides that she refuses to be the same to Mileena.

I have said a bunch of times that Shao Kahn sort of adopted Skarlet or sees her as a child of his. He took her away from the streets because she showed fire, and that's how a lot of adoptions go from what I heard, there's something about the kid that sparks something in that parent. But I think because Skarlet doesn't have royal blood and is a street urchin is what doesn't make her worthy of the title of daughter in Shao Kahn's eyes even if the bond is potentially there.

As much as I would love them to get along, Skarlet is jealous of Mileena. The fact that a clone was able to be given the title 'daughter' in a blink of an eye in comparison to Skarlet who had been serving him for more than centuries. "Shao Kahn needs no more Kitana clones!" is her way of saying that she wants to be recognised, loved and appreciated. "A pity you will never be his daughter." from Shang Tsung wasn't just any statement, he can see that this street urchin orphan who will not be mourned wants a parental figure in her life, and that unfortunately became Shao Kahn. There could've been the potential that it would be Shang Tsung, but we all know what he's like, he would see her as nothing more than a student who wants something more.

Skarlet lusts for power, and I theorise it is because she's trying to fill a hole, which is common in people who lack certain things in their life such as emotional stability and parental support. Having power will give her that sense of control over her life, supposedly.

Following my headcanon that Skarlet desiring Skao Kahn is a sign of her insanity, her need for security, appreciation and love has been perverted by the very thing that gives her power. Poor Skarlet.

SO what i sorta wanted to do was make. each parker flow into the next while subtly changing in between ,,, something something losing yourself to the game, becoming unrecognizable. so let's cover it parker by parker:

prime: i personally Love the hc that the coin is parker's mom. so prime is a lil ancient roman coded guy. he's SOOOO eldest sibling coded help. like he and his mom have a very strained relationship but also he thinks that if he just does whatever she wants she'll finally be proud of him :P whoops! and yeah v explosive anger (firewalker reference!), leading to ego, leading to. You Know. anyway. oh ALSO the parkers get younger as we progress so :))) they all STARTED at 19 but have varying degrees of age. so prime is in his mid-thirties.

parker ii: AH the most elusive of the parkers. SO: in my personal lore interp, parker ii was created when prime starting to push back against the coin more and more to the point where it was becoming a problem. and prime of course is very destructive and makes a mess when he's angry. so ii came about from me going "...what if parker just. said fuck it and left. didn't give a shit about ego just didn't wanna play the game anymore and found a way out." and that's exactly what my ii did. absolutely fucking vanished and quit the game for good. somehow. which uhhh MIGHT have been what caused prime to go apeshit ("why does ii get to leave and i'm stuck here?") and end prehistory. whoops. so i wanted to make them look very vagabond-y. somehow got even edgier than prime (impressive). also they're abt 30-ish. and have crazy gender stuff going on. possibly transfem. "but how is that possible if you hc the parkers as transmasc-" shhh. i don't know <3

park3r: GOD i loved doing this one. this parker is such a bitch and i love him. the first commissioner parker, created bc "OKAY so we gotta make him more young and impressionable and less unstable AND take him out of this game bc very clearly Bad Things will happen if he stays" so they made. a chronically online teenager and made them commissioner AMDNFM. god yeah i love this design he's sooo. just a 19-year-old trying to fill an impossible role and putting on a cool face about it. tragic, yes. but they're gonna complain the whole time and make everyone else miserable too. fully believe he was just scared and out of his depth the whole trial :( oops why are parkers iii and iiii so sad. i drew him closer to mid-20s here but honestly he could easily be younger

p4rker: LOVE this guy's lore so my hc is that after the trial that killed park3r it was like "uhhhh FUCK we need a new one of those. stat." so. they just. took park3r's incin'd body (ik it's not really Canon that park3r was incin'd he just Died but. let me have this) and like. stitched it back together. so p4rker is covered in burns and stitched together like frankenstein all over, and they just threw a mask on them like "see!!! new guy!!" the result of this being they didn't have. a whole ton of time to add shit like Personality, so p4rker is the outlier in that they're very naive and even polite? they don't understand what all the fuss is about them and just wants to be. nice? shame he didn't stick around long :/ the drippy bits are a little percolation nod! in this particular drawing he's like 20 :(

pvrker is. obviously the least human. park3r was more of a prototype of a commissioner, p4rker was a temporary placeholder at best, pvrker... was well and truly made For The Game. and his appearance reflects that. kinda a combination of iii's bluntness and 4's naivety. in-universe some people think he's the most sinister or whatever bc he's so directly Controlled By ILB Shit and that's not NOT true but like. give him a break guys he's like 6 days old he's new at this :(

Let's talk Cyrus memories (or rather, random facts I know from being Cyrus)

First, while most people knew us as Team Galactic, we were actually the Galactic Reformation and [unknown word] Organisation

Second, ages:

I was between mid to late 40's during the events of d/p/pt (I do not care if I'm 'canonically' 25, no I wasn't) Correction, apparently I'm canonically 27 which is still wrong

Giovanni, I believe, was younger than me but not by much

Ghetsis was older than me and would patronise me constantly, wanna say he was in his 50's, maybe 60's (but that could just be my instinct to take a shot at his ego)

Lusamine was younger than me, I'm fairly certain

Maxie and Archie were actually further apart in age than most people thing, there might have been about 10 years separating them (maybe. I'm not entirely sure)

Lysander was likely in his 30's at least but in all honesty I don't think I ever spoke to him so I wouldn't know

(I do not consider team Yell or team Star to be villains so I'm disregarding Piers and Penny for this)

Chairman Rose, I'm not particularly sure, I want to say mid 30's up to early 40's but again, I don't think I ever spoke to him

Thankfully (even as Cyrus, saying this) the headcanon of Volo's immortality was false for this timeline so I never had the displeasure of meeting that man (I'm fully aware that I am Also That Man)

Regarding Galactic members, grunts were at the very least 19, all the way up to a few in their 50's or even 60's. I may have been extremely misguided and borderline evil but I never intentionally set out to traumatise any kids (yes, I think I ended up paying for Dawn, Lucas and Barry to go to therapy, think I actually insisted on it once I realised what I unintentionally did to them

Saturn was 25, canon got that right

Mars, I believe, may have been 23, I do know she was younger than Saturn

Jupiter was older than them both but still younger than me, I think she's placed at late 20's to very early 30's

Charon was definitely older than me, almost definitely in his late 60's at best

BIOGRAPHY

CHILDHOOD

Gabriel grew up in Suffern, NY. It's a small town in upstate NY. When he was around 13 years old he moved to Brooklyn, NY. His family owned a house and an apartment. He would frequently travel back to Suffern for the full moon with his family.

His mother is a Maclachlan. She married a first-born son who would inherit Marinano pack. She never actively denounced her original pack, but favored Marinano pack more due to marriage. Gabriel in turn was/is a part of the Marinano pack.

Nasty politics and fights were common among the elder siblings in the Marinano Pack (regarding Gabriel's father and his aunts/uncles). His father loved Gabriel. However, had a slow growing disdain for Gabe's mother. Mainly because she wasn't part of the original pack and it gave the siblings ammunition to try to claim Alpha. This was the reason Gabriel and his mother would move to Brooklyn, NY.

When Gabriel was 19 years old tragedy struck. His father died fighting for the title of Alpha. One of Gabe's Aunt's assumed the role. In a fit of rage Gabriel denouced his pack and swore he would kill his Aunt and assume his rightful place as Alpha- like his father should've done. In doing so he started a war with his old pack. It caused his mom to go into hiding, as they now wanted her dead, and made Gabriel packless.

GABRIEL'S 20'S

Now that Gabe was a lone wolf. He spent most of his twenties in NYC. He didn't get a college education. Instead, he opted to join the workforce early. He jumped around a lot of entry-level jobs. Most of them made him too irate to continue to work. It didn't help he was grieving and had a lot of pent-up rage.

The only schooling he had ever done was a bartending school that lasted about 2 weeks. The school set him up with jobs and a bogus certification that helped get his foot in the door.

Gabriel is good at his job. He was easy on the eyes and knew how to talk to people. His reflexes made him able to be a flair bartender earning extra tips and gaining a lot of experience, really quickly.

Around the age of 23 he met Sabine. She was a vampire from Louisiana. She was an African Creole. Her father was a slave owner and mother was an educated slave. Sabine's actual age was around 1,000 years old. Gabriel and Sabine hit it off immediately. Despite the obvious differences (regarding species).

MID/LATE 20'S-TO PRESENT DAY

The two were in a serious relationship for 5 years living in New York City.

One day, after returning home from a full moon, Gabriel found his apartment destroyed. The house looked like a crime scene. There was blood everywhere. Anything that could've been destroyed had been. Sabine was nowhere to be found. Gabriel searched for her, for months, sending him into a stupor. Until he had to admit to himself after 6 months she was gone. He had never found a body, a note, or who could've done this. All his searching was in vain.

He believed the Marinano Pack was the one who had killed Sabine (it was the only possible idea).

After a few years, of barely living, Gabriel decided he needed to leave NYC. He moved to Hexmore for a new start.

He applied to be a part of the Machlachlan Pack. Partly to not be a lone wolf anymore, and garner allies for when he decided to take down Marinano Pack. The Alpha or any elders are aware that Gabe is trying to bolster an army.

WANTED CONNECTION!!

Sabine: As it stands Gabriel will assume she's dead. Her name, personality, and backstory can change. I don't like boxing people in on wanted connections. I would prefer her African Creole is kept. This could generate angst and does not have to lead/begin/end with these two as a couple. As long as they keep the past relationship canon I'm content!

Mother: I'll keep her versatile to whatever someone wants her to be. The biggest thing is keeping the backstory the somewhat the same. But there's at least 10+ years from Gabe and her seeing each other so you can be as creative as you want from it.

Hmm... I'd say it depends. If the little hurt includes something like referring to a major traumatic event like an abusive episode or a torture event or soft things like sickfics, then yes. Y. E. S. I'm all for it. Gimme the feels and the comfort to go along with it. But if it's something like Character A got a bullet graze or had a little wittle panic moment, then... meh. Mid.

I want strong emotions. I read fanfiction for strong emotions. My brains needs to be constantly stimulated by strong emotions in order for me to live through another day without wanting to tear someone to shreds just because they chew a little too loudly. (Side note: I read somewhere that it's because of trauma that your brain is constantly stimulated and stuff, so... yeah idk what to say about that).

But when there's that underline of angst? *Claps hands and tears up, swiveling in my spinny chair* I love it.

If it's done right, then I like it even more than hurt no comfort.

It's not because I'm prejudiced, it's because I can't handle confrontations. But! I'm going to... try and share something because I did not think there would be controversy amongst the whump community, but I'm not surprised that there is.

Okay, after doing some research... I'm still at a blank.

Though I did come across some interesting notions between whump lovers and non whump lovers.

Some people think it's sick to torture a character with stuff like abuse and rape and everything. (Which just makes me question: It's okay if the torture seems unrealistic like an alien beam blast, but not what humans do every day like hit their kids? But anywayyyy.) Uh, well, there are a lot of reasons people do that. One article which I read on whump (can't believe there are actual articles about this, it's just so normal to me), said that a Tumblr blog said that whump is born out of love for the characters. You can do your own research on that one, cuz it'll take too long to explain.

For me, that's actually true. I love reading hurt tim drake fics because... well, im not completely sure. It's not because I get endorphins while seeing him in pain (except when I'm writing 🤭), it's also that I... like seeing him push through and react to the whump. I like how different authors have different ideas of how he would behave in not-so-ideal situations. I like how there are different ideas on which situations he would find himself in.

But most of all, I like seeing him in situations where he can get out. Where he can escape that situation. Where I cannot. The same goes with writing, I like imagining up whump situations because I can imagine that character also making it out.

There are so many reasons. Some of which are I like seeing Tim get the love and care after the whump sometimes because he deserves it, I like seeing Tim react to his situation with bravery because he's someone who is brave, I like seeing Tim be helpless in situations then have someone help him. It all resonates within me and I like it.

As for situations where I haven't been in, I like seeing him in those situations because I love his character. I love the way he reacts to environments because all the comics and other media are literally about him reacting to situations. Fanfiction is the same thing, except they're different situations with different people who have different ideas.

There's so much difference in the world, and I love seeing it.

The different which I don't like or don't agree with, I click out. It's as simple as that. I click out and either rant about it to myself while pacing my bedroom or write a counter fic and use moments which I didn't like in that fic and recreate it to what I like. But I'm not rude to the author of that idea, because... people are different! Ideas are different! Difference exists!

So, I think on the topic where people think some whump in general is bad and sadistic and gruesome, I think they're different too. They have their reasons, we have ours. Difference exists. And I've grown to live with it. So should you.

What so many of the younger fandom followers don't realize that 20 years ago to be a female lead,and like 19/20 years old, was unheard of in HW. It was still a "man's" world and there were no "me too" movements. If that was a male lead talking to Jensen like that I doubt we would hear anything. 20 years ago I was an Assistant Manager of a large hotel chain and in my mid-20's. When I had my review I was told all was great but to wear shorter skirts and brighter lipstick. What's sad is I said OK, did it and was General Manager soon after. It was another society during DA and the start of SPN. I am happy it's not like that anymore.

I too am happy society is evolving in that respect. People won't ignore Jensen's comments and while misogynists may praise him, industry professionals will definitely re-evaluate him. Just the mere concept of oversharing about a set plus talking badly 20 years after is a no-no. Why? Because those people are still working in some fashion or the other. The P.A from that set could now be a producer or director or exec. This is why it's advisable to never cross people from the industry. Professional actors don't overshare, they don't talk badly about employers or colleagues unless the situation warrants stepping up, like the infamous case we all know. I'm saying that, if Jensen wants a stable career, he needs to act like a professional that can be trusted not like whatever he was trying to be on that podcast. Jessica was only 19 and in a shady relationship, she had to defend herself against a whole set that objectified her, not saying bullying Jensen was cool because it wasn't but the way he describes it now makes it sound like it was completely different than before so I don't even know what to believe anymore. I just know calling her a ""B****" and being proud about it is an awful example. He could have just taken her to the side and told her he's not there for her bs if there was any, cause at this point I'm kinda doubting everything. It's really easy for men to gang up on women, objectify them and twist everything. Especially if that is the culture they practice. Jensen could have spared his fans the awful example because it will influence the lass than bright fans and it's pure toxic masculinity. Sounds like you can relate to Jessica because you went through similar situations in your career. Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing it with us.

Also, while I will never outright express Reader's age, I'm thinking she's around 18 or 19 at the beginning of the war, meaning she'll be in her early to mid-20's by the end of it. Not that it's super important to the story line or anything, just thought I'd mention it at least once. In addition, there will be some NSFW content in this series at some point, and throughout later chapters, but I will be putting warnings for each individual chapter in their headers so you will see it coming before it does if you'd like to skip those bits. If it occurs in only part of the chapter, I will do my best to accurately label it and section it off to make it easier to bypass. Chapter 1

 Kamino, you’d never heard of the planet before today, but here you were accompanying Masters Di and Yoda to said planet. Your master, Ima-Gun Di, had told you, you were going there to pick up the army that would aid you all in the rescue mission on Geonosis, and other such battles in the foreseeable future.

"An army, since when do the jedi have an army", you asked your master, standing beside him as you both looked out to the watery planet you were fast approaching.

"It is not the jedi's army, it is the army of the Republic. We are simply being allowed to utilize it in our fight against the Separatists", your master replied.

"Oh... so is it true what Master Yoda said about the soldiers?" Your interest had peaked when the old master had first informed you of this massive army that had been created in almost complete secrecy. He had mentioned that the men that made up this army were not your typical soldiers.

"Is what true Padawan", Ima asked, turning his head to look at you, noting the child-like curiosity that lay within your eyes. He wondered if you'd ever grow out of that, but he also couldn't help the fondness he felt when you bestowed him with that look, and the innocence behind it.

"I mean, is it true that they're all, you know... clones", you said the term in a low voice, almost as if you didn't want anyone else to hear. You weren't sure why it was such a hard detail to grasp, maybe because until today you had never heard of anyone successfully cloning another living being, and now all of a sudden there were millions of them walking around?

"That is what Master Kenobi told the council. Do you doubt his honesty my young padawan", he asked, playfully raising an eyebrow, he already knew the answer you would give.

"N-no, of course not Master, it's just...", your words tapered off as you tried to think of the proper response, "I'll just believe it when I see it is all. I mean, a clone army? Master even you have to admit it sounds a little far-fetched."

Ima smiled at your comment, you were never one to believe in hear-say, you always had to have proof to fully believe something as fact. He still wasn't sure if this was a strength or a weakness, but it was how you were, and he just had to hope that it would work to your advantage in the long run. "It may seem like a stretch, I'll admit, but whether these men are clones or not all that matters is that they are our allies and should be treated as such. Do you understand?"

You nodded. "Yes Master, I will give them the respect they deserve, clone or otherwise."

Ima gave you a single nod before looking back to the planet ahead. "Good. You may be close to knighthood young one, but you are still my padawan, and your actions reflect upon myself. So don't make me look bad", he said with a grin that told you he wasn't really all that worried.

You smiled as you said, "Wouldn't dream of it Master."

You had picked up the men that would accompany you to Geonosis and were currently exiting the ship with them marching behind you. Once the groups were assigned and everyone was split up accordingly, you and Master Di took your group of men to the waiting gunship, which would then take you to the arena where Master Kenobi was being held. Apparently, his padawan and the senator from Naboo were being held there as well. A failed rescue attempt you predicted. Well, this one wouldn't fail, you had enough back up to be sure of that.

You were standing beside your master inside the now airborne gunship. Your curiosity had not simmered completely, and you caught yourself constantly glancing over to the soldiers on the opposite side of the transport. This went on for a short time until you couldn't take it anymore. You looked back to your master, who was too busy speaking with one of the men to notice you. You couldn't hear what was being said over the sounds of the ship's engine and the wind around you, but you were sure it was a conversation that would keep his attention for a little while, so now was your chance.

With a determined gait and a quick foot, you made your way across the short distance to the other side of the ship. You walked to one of the men, clad in the same white armor as most of the other soldiers you'd seen, he was holding one of the supports hanging above his head and starring out the side of the ship, watching the planet's landscape pass below. You tentatively spoke, trying to get his attention. "Umm, excuse me, uh, trooper?"

He quickly broke out of the trance he was in and turned to you, instantly standing at attention. "Yes sir", he said stoically.

You were taken aback for a moment, not used to this kind of reaction. "Oh, umm, at ease soldier." You felt silly saying it, but you figured it would get you the quickest results, which you were right about. He took a more casual stance and grabbed the handle above his head once more to keep himself steady in the lightly jostling aircraft. "I was just wondering if I could ask you something", you said, feeling a bit shy all of a sudden.

"Of course, what can I help you with sir", he asked.

"Well, I was just wondering, are you all really, umm, clones", you asked hesitantly.

He didn't so much as waver before firmly answering, "Yes sir."

You raised your eyebrows. "Really? So, you're all identical under there", you asked, pointing to his helmet.

"Yes sir", he repeated.

You cocked your head slightly to the side. "Huh, fascinating, I didn't think such a thing could be done, and on such a wide scale." You couldn't help your intrigue, this was something new, something unheard of, and you found yourself with so many questions, but before you could ask them, you had to be absolutely sure. "Could... could I see?"

Before he could answer a hand clamped on your shoulder, causing you to jump slightly and spin around. Your master stood in front of you, a disappointed look on his face. "Padawan, what are you doing", he asked, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Master, I, I was just...", you tried to explain, but he cut you off.

"It seems as though you are doing the very thing I asked you not to do. I told you to show these men respect. They are here to aid us in this rescue, not to feed your curiosity", he stated bluntly.

"I know that Master, it's just... I was", you paused to let out a light sigh, "I'm sorry."

Ima straightened his stance, looking down at you with a serious expression. "I'm not the one you should apologize to."

A look of realization flashed across your features before you quickly turned back to the trooper, bowing your head slightly once you were facing him. "Forgive me, I did not mean to disrespect you. I shouldn't have asked that, and I meant nothing by it. I was being childish, and I apologize", you said in quick succession, feeling a bit embarrassed by your actions, not to mention being called out for them so blatantly, but your master was right and you were sorry.

The trooper just stared at you, not ever really receiving an apology before, he didn't know how to respond. Besides, you were merely curious, he saw nothing wrong with that, but when he looked to your master behind you and was given a short nod, he knew he should accept it anyway, for your sake.

"It's quite alright sir, no harm done", he finally said.

This seemed to be good enough for the jedi because he then placed a hand on your shoulder once more, albeit not as heavily as before. "Now, can I trust you to keep your word this time", he asked you.

"Yes Master", you said with a nod.

"Alright then", he responded and began to walk away. He then paused and turned to look at you over his shoulder. "And remember Apprentice, you are to be tested soon. If you wish to pass the trials, you must show that you are ready to become a jedi knight, so it might do you good to start acting like one", he said before continuing to walk to his previous position.

You gave a heavy sigh before turning to face the landscape outside. You stood in silence for a moment, only hearing the noises of the gunship around you. You then turned your head in the direction of the trooper next to you. "I really am sorry", you said, your disappointment with yourself evident in your tone.

He looked to you. "It's okay, really. You were just curious; can't say I blame you. I take it clones aren't that commonplace throughout the rest of the galaxy", he asked.

You shook your head. "No, not really, and if there are others outside of Kamino who are cloning I sure haven't heard about it. To be honest, before today I thought it was just a myth. Never thought it could be a reality", you said incredulously.

"I guess we proved you wrong then sir", he said, and you wondered if he was grinning under that bucket on his head.

You grinned. "Hm, maybe, but I guess I'll just have to take your word for it, at least until I can know for sure."

"Well, I can prove it if you'd like", he said before reaching for his helmet.

You raised your hands in defense. "No, no, that's not necessary. If we are to work as an effective team then we'll have to trust each other, even if it's just at our word, and I trust you."

He lowered his hand, and just stared at you for a moment before speaking. "With all due respect sir, you just met me, how do you know I'm not lying", he asked.

You chuckled quietly. "Fair point, but I'm pretty good at reading people, and right now your force signature is telling me all I need to know in order to believe what your saying is true, at least it’s what you believe to be true, and that’s good enough for me."

"My what sir”, he asked, confused.

"Your force signature, everyone has one, it's like the life force within you, it's what connects you to everything around you, and what makes you, well, you. It's also the reason I was hesitant to believe you before."

"I'm sorry, but I don't understand how the two relate."

"Well, it's simple really. You say you're all the same, but when I feel you all through the force, your signatures are all very different. So, you may be the same on the outside, but I can't say the same for who you all are on the inside."

The trooper thought on this for a moment. "But sir, I never said we only shared an outer appearance, we share the same blood as well, so technically we aren't so different on the inside either", he stated.

You cocked an eyebrow and were about to tell him to not take your words so literally when you sensed something from him. It was a light feeling, like the feeling you get when you're holding in a laugh and your chest starts to tickle. He was messing with you.

"Was… was that your attempt at a joke", you asked.

He turned his head to avoid your gaze. "Maybe."

This was something you hadn't expected, but it was a welcome surprise for sure, and you were glad to see that these guys could loosen up if they really wanted to. Thank goodness, you hated constant stoicism, you got enough of that from some of the jedi back at the temple, acting as if cracking a smile once in a while would cause them to completely break altogether. So, when this previously stoic trooper made an actual joke, even though it wasn't exactly a good one, you couldn't help but laugh.

His head turned quickly toward you again, and if you had to guess you'd say he was surprised by your reaction. This seemed to subside rather quickly though because before you knew it, he was joining you with a soft laugh of his own. That's when you realized that you liked it, the sound of his laugh, his voice, it almost had a soothing effect on you, one you were surprised you hadn't noticed earlier.

Your laughter died down, but the smile stayed on your lips, and without another thought you extended your hand to him. "I'm (Y/N) by the way." He looked at your outstretched hand for a few seconds before turning to face you completely and taking it with his own, shaking it firmly once. You two stood there looking at one another, hands still connected for a time before you realized how awkward this must look. "And you, what's your name", you asked, finally withdrawing your hand, albeit a bit reluctantly.

"My designation is CT- 7567", he said.

You furrowed your eyebrows, giving him a genuinely confused expression. "Umm, you do know that's a number, not a name, right?"

"It's the only title I've ever been given sir", he said matter-of-factly.

You felt a pang of sympathy at this, but tried to keep it out of your voice, not wanting to insult him in any way. "Oh, well then, it's nice to meet you CT- 7... uh, I'm sorry, what was it again", you asked a bit sheepishly.

He chuckled, barely audible, but you heard it. "7567", he repeated.

"Right, I'll try to remember that", you said, giving him a small smile, knowing full well you wouldn't remember it.

"We're here", you heard your master shout from somewhere behind you. You turned to look at him over your shoulder and he sent you a nod, his way of telling you to be strong and fight well. You returned the gesture, silently confirming you would, before turning back to the trooper.

"So, you ready", you asked.

"This is what I was made for sir, I'll always be ready", he responded.

Something about his answer didn't sit well with you, but you had no time to dwell on it now. Detaching your lightsaber from your hip, you held it in a defensive position without igniting it just yet. "I've got your six if you've got mine", you tell him with a grin.

He raised the blaster he'd been holding in his other hand, so it was now pointing skyward. "Sounds good to me", he said, and with that you were off, both jumping the now short distance down and joining the fight that had already started on the ground.

You had kept to your word, and he to his. You fought side by side, blasting and slicing droids left and right. He was a good shot; you'd give him that. The droids began to thin in numbers as the fighting moved to outside the arena, and a gunship came to retrieve you and the other survivors, taking you to the battlefield, where the fighting continued.

Finally, it looked like the battle was nearly over, to your great relief. You watched as your master took down three droids in a row and then scanned your surroundings for your new comrade. You spot him almost right away; you feel it's him more than see it. He noticed your gaze and looked to you, giving you a reassuring nod that he was still with you. You grinned to him, the expression quickly morphing to one of alarm as you noticed a droid that had, had its legs severed lift itself up on one of its arms and raise it’s blaster with the other, aiming it right at your trooper. You moved on instinct, running toward him and yelling, "CT- 7...", you made a sound of frustration, "Seven, behind you."

He turned around just in time to see the droid before it fired, leaping to the ground, just barely avoiding the shot. You ran past him and decapitated the scrawny machine.

"Nice try you oversized tin can", you said smugly toward the fallen droid.

"Thanks for that", you heard the man say from behind you. You turned, about to spout a snarky comment on how you said you'd promised to have his six and you were a woman of your word, until your eyes landed on an unexpected sight. In his attempt to dodge the blaster shot he had hit the ground with enough force to knock his helmet right off his head, leaving him bare faced in front of you now. The first thing you noticed were his eyes, they were bright and intense, but held a softness you hadn't anticipated, but was endearing, nonetheless. His skin was a lovely tan color you could only describe as being sun kissed and complimented his dark hair nicely. His features were sharp and well defined, almost as if he'd been sculpted by an artist of the highest caliber. You found yourself wanting to glide your hands over them, feeling every curve, and you wondered how that strong jaw would feel under your fingertips.

You couldn't seem to form the words you'd wanted to say, instead your mouth moved of its own accord. "Woah, Seven you're...", you started before realizing what you were about to say and letting the rest die on your tongue, lest you embarrass yourself for a second time that day.

He gave you a confused look, "I'm what sir?"

You felt your cheeks growing warm. "Welcome", you forced out, shaking yourself internally and coming back to your senses. Clearing your throat, you said, "What I meant to say was your welcome." That was a close one.

He nodded and picked up the fallen helmet, fixing it back into place over his head, much to your disappointment, and you both walked back to where your master and the rest of your men were regrouping after the battle had finally ceased.

The trip back to Coruscant was much quieter than your ride to the arena had been, mainly due to you not wanting to accidentally say something you'd regret and feel stupid for later. You felt like you couldn't fully control your own functions around this man, which was such an odd feeling, so unfamiliar, it almost worried you.

When you'd finally arrived, you didn't waste time exiting the ship and meeting the others in the hangar. Obi-Wan’s padawan, Anakin, had been sent off to get medical attention after their duel with Dooku, apparently, he got hurt pretty bad, but he'd live. You considered yourself lucky to come out of the battle with only a few cuts and bruises. When you turned your attention to your master, he was already looking at you. He came to stand in front of you as the rest of the jedi dispersed to whatever duties they had just been assigned; you had tuned that part out. Ima placed his hands on your shoulders and looked down at you. "You did well my young padawan, you fought valiantly, and you defended your men diligently, you will make a fine jedi knight (Y/N)", he said with a kind smile.

You returned the smile and said, "Thank you Master, all due to your teachings."

He removed one hand and patted your shoulder with the other. "Now, I believe that's enough excitement for you for one day, you should rest. I will go to the temple, they are going to begin assigning jedi generals to the groups of troopers, I will let you know more tomorrow once I know what this means for us."

"Yes Master, thank you", you responded. He gave you one more smile before walking in the direction of the jedi temple.

"So, I guess this is goodbye for now", a voice behind you made you jump. Spinning around you saw that it was your trooper friend.

"Seven, geez, you startled me", you told him, placing a hand over your pounding heart, although you weren't sure if it was due entirely to the slight scare, seeing as he was now without a helmet once again, giving your eyes access to his handsome face. How the heck did he have such an effect on you, you had met handsome men before and never had this problem, why was this one different, you weren't sure, but you didn't necessarily hate the feeling you got when gazing into those mesmerizing eyes of his.

"Sorry sir, wasn't my intention", he said, a silent chuckle playing on his lips. "I just wanted to give you a proper goodbye and thank you once again for what you did out there, I owe you my life, I won't forget that."

You gave him a kind smile. "Please, you don't owe me anything", you told him.

"But I do sir, you could've easily let me die out there, it is what we were made for after all, but you didn't, and... I'm grateful", he said, looking to his feet, almost like he was doing something he shouldn't.

Your eyes widened at his words, is that seriously how he felt? "I may not know much about this whole cloning thing, but I can tell you that you were not made just to die, no one is put into this galaxy just to die, and everyone has something to stay living for. I saved you because you deserved to be saved, and I'd happily do it again", you said, trying to keep your smile from turning to one of pity, that's not what he needed right now.

He looked up to meet your eyes, starring for a long moment with a discernable expression. "Thank you", he finally said.

You nodded and extended your hand for one last handshake, not knowing what else to offer him. He accepted the gesture, and you shook hands. This time you noticed the heat bouncing from his hand to yours and vice versa, you tried to ignore what that did to your scattered thoughts. Once you were able to pull your hand away you turned and started walking away to begin your trek to the temple. After a few steps, however, you had a thought and turned back to face the retreating trooper. "Hey Seven", you shouted to him, causing him to turn on his heel to look at you. "I was thinking, you might want to consider adopting a nickname, would make addressing you much easier."

He grinned before saying, "Thought I already had one."

You shook your head. "Mm, Seven's great and all, but it doesn't really suit you", you said.

"And what does suit me", he asked.

You chuckled. "Unfortunately, I don't have all the answers. You'll have to figure that one out for yourself", you said, giving him a small shrug.

He chuckled at this, and you felt that strange feeling in your stomach again at the sound. "I'll keep that in mind", he said, still smiling.

You nodded and raised your hand in a small wave, he followed suit. You turned and began walking back to your quarters once more. The only thoughts that kept you company on your walk were the memories of his laugh flowing through your eardrums, the way he had looked at you with that intense, yet soft, stare, and that smile. The thought crossed your mind before you could stop it from forming, What I wouldn’t give to see that smile every day, you thought. The possibility was there, you reasoned. Master Di did say that the Jedi were being assigned troopers, maybe you would get to see him sooner than you thought. Force willing.

I really liked that post you made about how Capcom feels about Narumitsu. And I'm wondering how do you think they feel about Narumayo? Personally to me it feels like they throw more hints at Narumitsu since with the other one if Takami wanted it to be canon he would of done it at the end of T&T. I also think the team could of made it more obvious in SoJ with Maya's big return but I never really saw the hints but I know I'm biased lol.

ahh... that ship, 

well first, about the whole Takumi “wanting narumitsu to be canon” thing, its not exactly making them canon but have more fanservice leaning heavy towards narumitsu (which was declined by the director(?) who claimed, i sorta agree with, that the game did well even without the narumitsu hinting since in the first game they didn’t have that intention and it was pure coincidence that their relationship was just THAT deep and meaningful which is incredible lmao, Takumi and co managed to slip his warning and still put at least some of the hints in TT tho hhh-). so even then, i doubt the crew actually want the endgame to come so soon hh.

okay, back on topic. what i think about naru//mayo? yea, i’m not keen on that ship personally at all, actually i despise it. like, they first met in the office, in front of their dead loved one, Mia. Maya was 17, Phoenix was 24. you have Maya, who’s supposedly still in HIGH SCHOOL and Phoenix, who has GRADUATED COLLEGE, has a JOB, and most likely has PAID HIS OWN BILLS. from that point alone, it should already feel weird. 

Maya’s an adolescence, a teenager, she just lost her sister and barely grew up, in a way she’s still innocent, notice how she tend to ask random questions and or say things that she thinks makes sense or amusing, she tends to be naive too. its kinda like.. a child.

and Phoenix on the other hand, is a grown man. heck even Maya says he’s an “old fart”, they’re legit aware of their own age gap in game and outright say it. if anything, they both act like self-aware best friends/brother-sister than romantically. even Maya said it herself, she wants to be a good big sister for Pearl and Nick.

now how about we ignore this obvious fact just for a little while and try to see it from only their interactions in-franchise. heres the kicker, you may not see it in game since they only lightly nudges about this ship (usually with Pearl, and was dismissed by Maya right after.), but in some of AA spin off mangas (and from what i heard, one of the stage shows), for some reason, this ship has their own hints despite being completely aware that Maya is a teenager.

but its okay now don’t hold your breaths, 

their “hints” are more of a one-off ish thing, most of the time a gag and not taken seriously, and unlike other ship per say narumitsu, where it actually affects their lives and changed it forever IN-GAME. “i care about Maya and understands her” and “i became an attorney because of you, Edgeworth and i don’t have any regrets” are both literally incomparable, especially given Phoenix and Edgeworth’s history together in-game canon.

anyway, here’s some common arguments i’ve encountered about this particular ship :

“but Phoenix cares about Maya a lot! he literally went through a trial against a hitman and run through a burning bridge for her!”

“Phoenix blushed and goes red when Pearl says he’s Maya’s special someone and he stutters!”

“Well my parents had a huge age gap!"

“well, Maya is 18 in AA2″

“considering Maya is a christmas cake now, Nick better tap that” 

“she’s an adult in AA6 tho”

now lets dissect each of these,

yes, Phoenix cares about Maya a lot he literally did cross a burning bridge for her but people seem to forget that this is the same man who turned his life around, abandon his dreams, study law for four years, and became an attorney to meet one man and willing to defend a girl who looks like his psychotic ex that nearly poisoned him in court. he literally would believe in his clients’s innocence no matter what, he’s by nature would sacrifice anything and even his life for someone. so its normal that he cares about Maya, but is it romantic? i doubt it, he cares about her safety and well being but does it have to be a romantic hint? no, of course not, he’s just very selfless for the people he cares about and Maya has no one to help her but Nick when she’s in trouble, he’s one of few adults she can trust and will help her out.

oh so blushing and stuttering due to embarrassment means having feelings now? and about the stuttering, he literally stutters around Edgeworth a lot lol. i’m starting to feel like people ships naru//mayo not because of their depth but because Pearl said so. Pearl finds them should be together and keep shoving the audience with Nick being “Mystic Maya’s special someone”, well if thats the case, they also explained why this happened, in-game. Pearl grew up very sheltered and among unhealthy marriages she just assumes a girl and a boy together means they’re dating and being “special someones”. she most likely just wants her cousin to be in a happy relationship unlike her parents where her father left both her and her mother but didn’t know any better because she was eight years old.

now about the parent thing and taking it personal, well my parents too had a huge age-gap of 7 years. but how come is it okay? its because they met when my mum was already a career woman at 26. she’s already an adult when my dad met her. what does this mean? it means my parents were both adults when they’re together, this is why i still like GumMaggey despite their age gap so wide, they first met when Maggey has already had a career, supposedly in her 20′s, she’s a young adult, she can buy alcohol by herself, already knows whats right and wrong and has live life independently, not a still hormonal teenager who depends on one adult figure. did your parents date when your mum is in highschool while your dad is like in his mid 20′s? sorry to hear that.

as for the last three arguments, i don’t even want to touch any of them with a five-foot pole. are you listening to yourself? do you not feel like you’re a creep typing that?

let me give you a benefit of the doubt. yes she’s older and legally an adult, but are you really discrediting the fact they met when Maya was still in highschool? they met and became friends when she’s 17 and he’s 24. sure they barely met during disbarment era, but should that change anything? why should it? how should it? like this?

“Oh this is Maya, i haven’t met her in years but boy she sure has grown up can’t wait to date her since she’s legal now.”

because thats what that argument sounds like, YIKES. 

you know? if they met under a different circumstance and Maya was like 19, i’d let it go. but they didn’t, they met because of a horrible loss, Maya, still in training, 17 lost her big sister and Phoenix, a rookie, at 24 lost his mentor. 

in conclusion, i don’t like naru//mayo at all

pairing them feels like pairing Edgeworth with Kay or Phoenix with Ema, just because they partnered in investigations, make playful jabs at each other, and saved each others’s lives before, people just think they like each other romantically despite their age-gap in first meetings (not to mention Kay sees Edgeworth as somewhat of a father figure, and she’s nearly 18 while Edgeworth is the same age as Phoenix). especially with how Maya, being a zoomer, calls Phoenix an “old fart” and just makes jokes about how so out-of-touch Phoenix is with the modern entertainment.

from observations, i have a huge hunch that almost all of them pair these two because :

1. Maya’s a girl protagonist so its a male protagonist x female protagonist type of deal and despise narumitsu because “yaoi”

2. AA6 she’s an adult so she’s legal which is damn creepy on its own, or last

3. because of Pearl shipping them in game despite being an eight year old and was so sheltered she thought a man and a woman being next to each other means they’re special someones.

either way, i only see them as best friends, sibling-like relationship with self awareness here and there since they tease the audience a lot with their gag “hints” in spin-off mangas and game. 

not only that, it kinda showcase how all male/female bond don’t have to be romantic, they can be just friends or familial and still hang together. another plus for the franchise right after encouraging moving on from ex partners. *glancing at Phoenix//Iris*

and as to the people who pairs this for some odd reasons, sometimes i just want to ask these questions,

“how would you feel if you’re in Phoenix’s shoes? met your mentor’s little sister at age 17 while you’re 24, would you feel romantically interested in this high schooler?” because i don’t, to me anyone 3 years younger than me is like a baby, how would Phoenix feel when Maya’s 7 years younger?

“also... why even? narumitsu and other less questionable pairings are RIGHT THERE in the open!”

but oh well people can like and pair whatever hhh,

Edit : To add the final nail to the coffin, Phoenix outright has said that Maya’s like his kid, like a niece.

Edit 2 : remember that this is simply my personal take, you can somewhat use this to make yourself feel better about your pair nor simply just to hate on the ship itself but do not use this to dictate actual people what to ship and not to ship.
