hello shark, love your work and hope you get as much rest as possible! my question is, which character do you think you'll miss writing for most after cob ends? is there a character you didn't think you'd like writing, but ended up being surprised by?

I mean, for who I'll miss- probably just Rex. Dude has been a regular presence in my life since I made him in middle school. He's literally been with me half my life at this point. It's gonna be weird when I'm not regularly thinking about him on an almost daily basis.

As for who I didn't think I'd like writing but did... Mm. I wouldn't say I didn't think I'd LIKE them, but both Claude and Edgy (Rex's scion) ended up being two of my favorite characters to write by a lot, when they originally started as pretty basic villains. It's been so fun to make them both more rounded and human (ironic for Rex's scion).

I don't really buy that any of the clones but Rex specifically would need or want a visual connection to Jango. Regardless of what you think the clones' relationship with Jango actually was, they clearly go to a LOT of effort to distinguish themselves from each other and from him, to make themselves more than just clones of Jango. So I'm not sure that it would fit for me that any of them would intentionally choose a symbol that makes them MORE like Jango if they could do literally anything else.

I much prefer bird enthusiast Rex as an explanation, and it allows the symbol to be of Rex's OWN creation, emphasizing his own interests and artistry.

I think people are confusing easter eggs with canon for the clones. Rex wearing "jaig eyes" does not in fact count as Rex canonically wearing a Mandalorian symbol until high canon explicitly tells us that that symbol is Mandalorian and that Rex chose it for its Mandalorian connection. Until that happens, it is JUST AS CANON to say that Rex came up with that symbol ALL ON HIS OWN because there was an ocean bird of prey native to Kamino with a yellow head that reminded him of himself and inspired him. Boil's little ship symbol doesn't make him Mando any more than someone being really into Japanese cars and putting a Honda sticker on their laptop would make them Japanese (and the Mando ship connection is still fanon/legends info ANYWAY, so you can also still come up with a completely different and equally valid explanation for what that symbol means that has nothing to do with Mando shit at all).

Mandoclones are fanon, get over it.
