It Ain't My Fault (That I'm Out Here Gettin' Loose)
“You’d look much better in navy,” Max said, wiggling his eyebrows.
And... huh.
It wasn’t the first time Max had made that joke, but something about it now was different. Maybe it was because he was coming down from his orgasm, or because they were in Austria, or... perhaps it was because he just really loved Max.
But he found himself saying, “Okay.”
OR: The one where a blowjob turns into a life-altering decision. It was always going to happen in Austria.
Part VI of The Warming Verse.

I've been doing a lot of thinking...and I feel like I need to scream this out somehow even though I'm sure it's been talked about before (and I'm putting it under a readmore because it gets long).
No matter what, in any playthrough you do and any timeline you create.
UNDERTALE is a game about guilt.
You have Toriel, so guiltridden she couldn't protect her own children that she devotes herself to never letting another child leave again. And then they do!! over and over again, that guilt compounds until it's the center of her life and every choice she makes!!
And obviously Asgore, so guiltridden that he couldn't protect his own children from humans that he spends the rest of his days trying to get out and get revenge on them--as if that will stop the voices in his head saying, if you had been out there with them you could have stopped it, you could have stopped those humans from killing your children, and maybe he could have!! Or maybe not!! He'll never know and it eats him from the inside out!
Alphys, oh my sweet summer child this fandom does not deserve you!! Alphys, so guiltridden from her own perceived failures as a scientist that she began to try anything, anything to make the King happy, and it seemed to be working at first, and then it was so everlastingly worse, how can you cause something worse than death?? without even trying??
And it shows up in little ways, silly ways, too! Ways you wouldn't even think about as guilt! Undyne! She feels guilty that she won't let Papyrus join the Royal Guard so she gives him cooking lessons instead! Papyrus feels guilty that he's not in love with you after one date so he'll "keep being your cool friend and act like this never happened!"
SANS MY BOI don't even get me started. His guilt isn't as physically obvious but he made a promise to toriel, he promised her he would keep the human safe, and in timelines where you save everyone he follows you pretty much all throughout the Underground (even if he doesn't do anything to help smh) because he'd feel guilty not doing it, and in timelines where you kill everyone he feels guilty for not stopping you, AND in those SAME timelines he feels guilty for stopping you because it means he's breaking his promise to Toriel to keep you safe I!!! This boy can fit so much cosmic guilt in him!!!!
Asriel! FLOWEY!! Do you ever wonder if he feels guilty about being the one to wake up again? The one to survive, when Chara had to die twice?? He sits at their grave and he will do anything, anything to drown out those thoughts so he befriends and kills and torments and it's all the same and it's all useless!!
And their guilt compounds each others'! Toriel makes Sans make that promise because of her own guilt, which increases his! Asgore's guilt is what pushes Alphys so far past the limits of ethical science, because he increases hers!
And all of this, all of this, ALL OF THIS pales in comparison to you!!!
You!! The player! You return to the Underground after maybe accidentally killing Toriel or a few others because you didn't know, you never wanted to hurt them!! You listen to Flowey and you come back and you save them all!
You! The player!!! You cry at the ending and you'd feel guilty, so guilty about letting them all go, wouldn't you? So you ignore Flowey's pleas to let it alone, and you come back again, you say hello to your dear friends but this time it isn't the same, this time you kill them all because you want to see everything this game has to offer, might as well get your money's worth, the fights are cool, right?? And then you get hit with the most unsatisfying atomic bomb of an ending and the only thing left is your own reflection staring back at you from the black screen of your computer as the horror dawns, what have you done???
YOU!!! The player! You go back again even though there is no Flowey left to tell you to, and you save them all again because I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry, nobody deserves what I did to all of you, and it's all good, nobody remembers, and then you get to the end. The game knows what you did!!! It never forgot, and it'll make certain you never forget either!! Guilt!! Guilt, guilt!!! It's baked into the code of this game!!
Anyways tl;dr, maybe it actually did make sense to give this game to the pope

Got Calvinball'd by @kanerallels and @singswan-springswan, so here's a bit of the TLC/Rebels AU I started writing this morning instead of just rambling about the plot idea like I was supposed to *side eyes my bad impulse control*
Sabine yelped in surprise as a blur of orange vaulted over her table, and a voice hissed “Please don’t tell them I’m here!” It didn’t take long to figure out who the “them” was, because a second later, three angry boys shoved through the marketplace, looking around. One of them approached her stall, and the kid who’d thrown himself over the countertop crouched as low as he could, so the guy couldn’t see him over the table. Sabine didn’t like bullies. And those boys looked like bullies to her. “Can I help you?” Sabine asked. The guy glared at her. “I said,” Sabine repeated, standing, meaningfully resting her hand on a wrench. “Can I help you?” He scowled and stormed off without a word, and Sabine sat back down and then swiveled in her chair to look at the kid and demand answers. And Sabine froze. He was dressed in casual clothes, but they couldn’t disguise him from her. The net connection in her mind whirled, flashing up lines of information in her bionic eyes as her brain put the pieces together. Ezra Bridger. Age—15. Royalty. Orphan. Under the guardianship of the Prince Regent up until his 18th birthday— She realized with a jolt that he was staring right back at her, and she gulped down her disappointment as she wondered what she’d done to give herself away. Maybe one of her sleeves had ridden up when she stood, revealing a glint of metal wrists. Or maybe he’d somehow already heard about the cyborg mechanic in the marketplace. Or maybe— Still staring goggle-eyed at her, he grinned and whispered a breathless, “Hey.” Or maybe, Sabine realized, a little bit relieved and a little bit amused, he just thought she was cute.

miguel o'hara & fatherhood
omg i'm back again here's a post analyzing him as a father and umm some minor headcanons idk. there's some death and grief and atsv spoilers if anyone cares
miguel in regards to fatherhood and raising gabi, for however long that he did, is a story that is both on a psychologically horrifying level but also one on a level of growth and almost wholesomeness.  miguel as a father was thrown into fatherhood, with a daughter who was already grown enough that he had to figure things out as he went, not to mention as a single father. he had to tackle understanding kids, figure out how to do hair, what was popular with kids, how to schedule the everyday life, the wants and needs of an average kid, let alone his own child were likely strange and unknown concepts to him.  he could only watch countless videos on what kids did and didn't like.  a few personal headcanons of mine is that he would spend whole nights watching videos on how to do hair, watching shows that gabi liked to make sure that he was up to date on what she enjoyed so they could have something to talk about. also that he's constantly using lyla as a form of googling like i uh she's says she likes xyz and we've watched it a ton of times. what is xyz
he'd be constantly trying his best to be a good father, despite struggling with exact details as how to be a good father. a constant what do i do uh yeah kids like that right? being around gabi taught him a lot of patience. he became a soccer dad, which he never really imagined himself being until he was one. and then he wasn't. miguel deeply valued this fatherhood and his time with gabi, so it was heartbreaking for him to lose it all, destroy her and her entire world, and for it to all be his fault he had originally sought out fatherhood and taking care of gabi as a means to making himself happy, to give himself another chance at life, and gabi ended up meaning so much to him that losing her broke him. miguel and fatherhood is a complex concept that borders on downright terrifying and remarkably wholesome in the ways that he is trying so hard to be there for her and do what is right, all while doing the horribly wrong thing.  replacing someone and constantly lying to his 'child' was certainly not doing the right thing, making his seemingly perfect and adorable life with gabi secretly something more twisted and questionable miguel's fatherhood may have been sweet and beautiful, but he likely lived in constant fear and paranoia, knowing that at any given time, someone might realize that he's not quite who they know, even though it would be incredibly unlikely they could figure out exactly what had happened, it was likely someone would eventually notice that he wasn't behaving as he usually did, nor was he truly who he said he was
miguel and his concept and understanding of fatherhood is something that is complex and never truly right or wrong, good nor bad.
tysm for reading <3

So... I started watching 1984 and you're telling me Xantana are exes? AHS, you missed a chance with Millory already, how hard is it to let me see Billie Lourd ride Cody Fern like the Beast of Revelation?
I probably need to stop with the Antichrist jokes.

thinking about that one comment I got on Gambit about how it was, DIRECT QUOTE, “painfully obvious the characters do what you want rather than what they want.”
do you. do you uh. do you know how writing stories works. they’re not real, bro.
(this is from back in 2018 so not recent. this is also not actually the worst part of that comment.)

“Get Help” with the Han brothers except that Han Yoohyun would never throw his brother into danger like that and Han Yoojin would never let the public perception of him become like Loki’s so what happens instead is that Han Yoojin cries help from the elevator and the soldiers approach, thinking, “whoa is that Han Yoojin??” and as the elevator doors open Han Yoohyun sprints out and goes for the kill
