DP x DC: Cyber Six AU
So Idea, take some aspects of Cyber Six and make it a Danny Phantom in Gotham situation
For those who don’t know, the basic premise is that Cyber Six is the creation of this mad scientist that escaped. She needs a substance that only the bad guy can produce to live and has to fight the creations of the bad guy in order to stop evil plans as well as get the substance. In the comics it’s more of a vampiric feeding. During the day she poses as a male English teacher while hiding her identity from her love interest. The love interest is in love with her as Cyber six, and friends with her as her teacher identity. The whole thing has a lot of trans themes and is totally worth watching the cartoon, but do you see where I’m going with this?
Danny in Gotham, hiding as a teacher by day, and fighting the artificial ghosts Vlad or the GIW send after him by night as Phantom. Gotham doesn’t really have much Ectoplasm, and Danny needs to feed on it. He’d move to a place with more, but Batman is a major deterrent and hiding in Gotham is keeping the people chasing him from coming themselves and risking getting on the Bat’s radar. Luckily, instead of realizing they could starve him out, they send their creations to drag him back, providing a guilt free source of ectoplasm
Danny get’s work at Gotham Academy as one of Tim’s teachers while hiding out. It would be just fine, he has a degree in chemistry and one in engineering. The issue? They gave him an English class, a subject he struggled with in school. Lucky for him while lamenting this fact to a stranger, one Jason Todd, he finds out the other man is a literature nerd and would be happy to go over his curriculum with him. Jason is just happy he has someone to info dump about Jane Austen to while he waits for Tim to get out.
Meanwhile, Red Hood is dealing with the sighting of odd creatures in his territory when he comes across Phantom. The two strike up a friendship while dealing with the threat to Hood’s territory, Phantom gets to feed from the artificial ghost, and so it goes on.
Jason gets feeling for the mysterious Phantom, While Danny gets feeling for the charming literature nerd Jason. That’s right baby, the love square. They’re in love with their other identities. Meanwhile Tim is dying inside as his teacher is making goo goo eyes at his brother.

Yizuki_Khonsu here! You said that I could message you about the Two-Ghost Motel (One of my favorite fics from you). I've read everything you've posted on tumblr too. My favorites have to be Something to Feel and Ghost!Robin Haunts Jason. Anyway, you offered to give me the deets about your sequel, so hit me!
The comment in question:
My first thought about Jason is one of the reasons he's almost a zombie when he first revives is because the motel took so much from him. He doesn't have enough memories to be present since the entity was eating them. And the reason the Pit brings them back is because the motel was made of that same in-between material Lazarus Water . Question: Does Jason remember what happened in the Motel? Does he remember Danny? Obviously Danny remembers him, but I don't know if he will remember Danny. Lots of angst potential there. I love all iterations of Danny and Jason interactions, platonic or otherwise, and you perfectly capture the sibling vibe with both of them. Also can't wait to see Vlad get punished for luring Ghosts to their End by directing them to the Motel. I bet he has a lot harder time getting lesser ghosts to work for/with him once the deal he made got out. Do Ghosts have a court system? Cause I want to see Vlad get arrested and put on Ghost trial.
I have no promise of a sequel, but I've definitely had sequel thoughts for Two Ghost Motel. So, if the time arises when I can finally revisit this universe, well, here's an idea of what you will see.
Again, under the cut for potential spoilers!
Does Jason remember? Not really. It'll be like a half-remembered dream. He remembers there being something when he was dead. And... a friend? But not the details.
He'll also sometimes feel like he should be able to do impossible things. Like fly or go through walls. But he's just a baseline human. And the lazarus pits don't give powers like that. So he shoves those thoughts to the side. And if he sometimes bangs into a wall when he expects to pass through it or shoots his grapple hook off a moment later than he should have? Well. It hasn't killed him yet.
And the reason the Pit brings them back is because the motel was made of that same in-between material
You got this spot on.
Vlad is a part I haven't fully planned out yet. (And one of the things I'll have to figure out before I go forward with a sequel.)
Anyway, I'm gonna spit ball on him for a sec. Ending a ghost is the worst thing you can do in Ghost culture (headcanon). So Vlad intentionally pushing other ghosts to a being that will End them? And then roping in innocent third parties into his scheme? (By spreading rumors that it's a good place to rest.) Oh, no one is happy.
He'll become a pariah (not The Pariah) among ghost kind. Instant attack on sight. Or, for those who aren't strong enough to attack, he'll be given the ghost equivalent of a Regency England Cut. Which is when you just refuse to acknowledge someone's presence. If they say hi to you, you turn aside and don't acknowledge them. If they come near you, you walk away. Just, total ostracization.
The only people he can get to work for him are the ones he can blackmail or threaten. And they all plan to betray him the first chance they get.
There's also some things I want to explore with the in-between creatures. The motel said that Danny and Vlad are both in-between beings like it is (was). And I want to explore that more. Danny is the only in-between creature to be stable. He was flooded with pure ectoplasm when the portal was opened. Vlad and the motel, however, did not experience that.
Part of their instability, just like the pit madness, is because they are creatures of the in-between. Think of Danny as balanced perfectly on the knife's edge. Vlad and the motel aren't. Vlad is more alive than Danny and the motel more dead. And that is part of why there's issues with them. The motel needs more ectoplasm but cannot make it itself. And the stuff from the Realms directly is too pure and is as poisonous to it as Lazarus Water is to ghosts. So it steals it from ghosts and converts it into something that isn't quite of Earth and isn't quite of the realms (lazarus water) and uses that.
Vlad uses the real stuff, but isn't as good at metabolizing it as Danny or a full ghost. So the ectoplasm is affecting him as much as he's affecting it. And ectoplasm does strange things when it comes in contact with living tissue.
So maybe instead of jail and destruction for Vlad, I'll go the route of "intensive medical care to correct a decades-long problem he's left untreated until it nearly destroyed him."
But that's also a much harder (and longer) plot line, so.... Who knows. Maybe I'll take the easy way out and develop a Ghostly Court. We've already got Ghost Jail and a Prison Warden!
I think that covers everything? Let me know if you have any other questions!

So.
Ectoplasm.
The Lazarus Pits.
Seen some Hc's where the Lazarus Pits are just rotten ectoplasm and I'm like:
It's just, yea the Hc is good and I don't wanna shit on the people who like it but uh. Can Ectoplasm revive the dead?
Cause if so, all the ghosts who weren't naturally formed wouldn't even be, well ghosts.
And it's just a bit eh, to see Jason having Ectoplasm in him and -while funny- him having the ghost equivalent of sewage in him is ehhhhhh.
Mostly cause I've never seen people really, explain how the Lazarus Pits is Ectoplasm and how it well, revives the dead.
Since Ectoplasm causes ghosts to form and the Lazarus Pits (to my knowledge) doesn't do that-
Now now. Before anyone tries to maim me over this I'm just gonna say.
If the Lazarus Pits and Ectoplasm are the same.
Why does one revive the dead and not the other?
Now here's what I'm thinking. The Lazarus Pits does indeed 'revive' the dead, but not as in: Heals all your injuries and just gives you awareness or whatever.
More in the way of: Oh, a ghost formed because of your strong desires, and you're just bound your former body.
The Lazarus Pits aren't reviving the dead in the way that people think. It's just binding you're recently formed ghost to your previously dead body.
The Pit Madness? I don't know how to really explain that part yet.
Maybe it's instinctual wrongness.
You were dead. Now you're alive.
But.You're.Still.Dead.
But you're also alive.
You live, breath, think and act as you previously did before. But something is wrong. You're alive, you can feel that, and you can see that.
But are you supposed to?
There's something inside you. It feels too much, feels too strongly to be you.
It's Madness.
It's you.
But also, not.
But it can't be you. You're alive, this thing inside you is wrong.
It's.Not.Supposed.To.Be.Here.
It's not you, but it is you.
It takes over you at times and you dislike it. Hate it even. It makes you feel emotions more strongly than it used to; makes you do things you never did before because you're too focused on these emotions to stop and rationalize anything.
Most of the time it's anger. It makes you violent, it makes you hate everything in your near vicinity.
You hate it.
You fear it.
But it's been a part of you ever since you've clawed your way out of that Pit.
It changed you.
It brought you back. But it also gave you this.... thing that lives inside you and you fear it, because it's you in a way but it's not. You're alive and well, it's this parasite within you that shouldn't be there.
It clouds your judgment. It makes you irrational. It makes you feel wrong.
This thing is in you. But you hate it. Fear it. It's a part of you but you don't want it with you. You can't accept it because you know it's you, but it can't be because you alive...
Aren't you?
