My brother was once a huge Bleach fan, I got all his Merch and Artbooks/calendars today.... There is so much IchiRuki! And the coloured "Rukia rescue" is absolutely stunning, Ichigo nails it like the handsome boy he is. Look at my precious idiots, flirting chilling on the Beach with some nice, cold champagne. Just the two of them, how romantic.

I think ichihime fans has a misunderstanding that why hate Kubo because he didn’t make Ichiruki canon, it’s not because of that but he is as a person is kind of shitty.

It’s not “he didn’t make ichiruki canon”, it’s he ship baited us for years. Everytime it’s was ichiruki this and ichiruki that, come buy this calendar with this amazing ichiruki spread, Rukia is Ichigo’s ray of light, I made this movie I want people to focus on Ichigo and Rukia and the change in their feelings, I’m going to draw Ichigo surprise I drew Rukia next to him too, this novel is without a doubt Ichigo and Rukia’s story, I wonder can I keep up with it the speed of the world without you in it? 

I could keep going on like this forever. Point is, in the manga and outside of it, he freaking USED US AND LIED TO US for years. That’s why we hate Kubo, he didn’t have to do all of that, he could’ve made the story, HIS story however the fuck he wanted, there was no need at all to use and decive us like he did for 15 years,IH and dudebros will NEVER understand bc Kubo used us not them, they can’t understand how that feels, how stupid you feel for having listened to his bunch of lies and believed it all, untill we were too blind to see what was coming ahead bc we already trusted him and all the precious content and lies he gave us.

"#literally tho so much of their material isn't even based in canon it's kind of funny" but seriously though? there hasn't been a debate with an IR who hasn't brought up "in the show", "calendar", "colorspread", "marketing", "what sells", "poem" (which is already completely misunderstood), and so on and none of them have canon manga argument that isn't taken out of context like "dried his rain", or wrongly read like "peach scene". There's literally nothing, it's mindboggling.

The funny thing is, they DO have a lot of canon manga content, it’s just condensed down into the first two/three arcs of the series. That’s where the bulk of Ichigo and Rukia’s interactions exist—the first 200-ish chapters out of a nearly 700 chapter series. Their screentime greatly decreased after the arrancar arc. Which, as I pointed out in the first linked post, was never a good sign if you were shipping it for canon. 

But here’s the real kicker: According to the bleach wiki, the last volume before the HM arc, “Goodbye, Halcyon Days” was released in 2007. Kubo’s Fade to Black interview where he said “it is not romantic” about ichiruki happened in 2008. Meaning anything that happened between Ichigo and Rukia prior to that interview was ruled “not romantic” by Kubo himself. Meaning everything that happened in the AotS, SS, and arrancar arcs.

Meaning the majority of Ichigo and Rukia’s manga interactions had been deemed “not romantic” eight years before the manga’s end. 

So, I guess if your ship isn’t being given a lot of manga screentime in the last 2/3rds of the series, and all the manga screentime it was given in the beginning has already been ruled out by the mangaka himself, suddenly artbooks and fillers are all you have left.

After the Netflix Bleach Live Action

...I’m disappointed at myself.

Yes I watched it and for 1 hour and 40+minutes I reveled in the adaptation of the best parts of the series.   But after that, I am once again left with a bitter taste in my mouth.

I’m an IchiRuki shipper.  I stopped following the manga somewhere in the middle of the HM arc because I got tired of the stare-fests and power-ups coming from nowhere.   I kept tabs with the series through the eyes of fellow IchiRuki fans who were constantly optimistic about the franchise and the ship.   Imagine my great surprise and disappointment, when I read about the ending of Bleach - and the supposed rationalization given by it’s author.

When they announced the Bleach live action movie, I scoffed at it.   It’s been years now and I’ve seen ‘shinigami’ adaptations in other popular Korean shows namely Goblin and Along with the Gods which are better than Kubo’s Bleach.   The production of the Bleach movie is weak compared to those.  I applaud the casting for Ichigo, Rukia and Ishida.   I understand why they had to trim down Ichigo’s ‘bad boy’ persona for a more diverse audience.  I am glad that Ishida isn’t flopping around and his actor is gorgeous!  I LOVE how classically beautiful, Rukia is - a traditional Japanese beauty (not bent on being too ‘white’).   And IchiRuki...once again we are reminded what Bleach is all about.

I am disappointed because I watched and because of that I inadvertently gave Tite Kubo profit.   I was going to watch with my husband, who used to watch the Bleach anime with me, but I decided against it because no more clicks for Kubo from me.

We live in an age where fans and content creators can be at war with each other.  I’ve seen that in some of the stuff I now follow after I buried my Bleach fandom away.   I understand the need for content creators to be creative to take risks to make the series fresh.   But Kubo did none of that.

What I am about to say is speculation of course...but Kubo raged against SJ for making his series long (to keep up with the other big 2 Naruto & One Piece).  Kubo raged against his own fans/readers who constantly put Orihime down on the popularity list despite him pushing her tits and ass in manga panels.  Kubo raged against himself and the characters he created, losing sight of what a ‘shinigami’ is and making Ichigo into the next Goku of power-ups (heck even Dragon Ball Super makes more sense than Bleach ever did)

And I feel slighted over that.   I devoted time to this series.  And I can’t help feel that it’s my fault for even liking it in the first place, remaining optimistic and didn’t see the trash it became specially after the constant IchiRuki baiting in colored pages/calendars what not.   Kubo intentionally baited IchiRuki to keep people interested because he now claims he had IchiOri all along (which is utter bull and IR fans have receipts).  He used the fans love for IchiRuki to kept his series going...always making Rukia into some kind of surprise only to cast her aside in the end. (And I’m not even talking about ships here).  

Ichigo can go marry his ‘mother’ look alike which is seriously creepier than whatever Shinji felt for Rei in Neon Genesis Evangelion...and now I can’t help but wonder what Isshin thinks when he see’s his daughter-in-law...

I hate it that I feel like this.   I don’t want to rain down on the IchiRuki fandom but I wonder if I’m the only one who feels like this.  I felt so betrayed by Kubo.  I hope that Netflix doesn’t bother making the other arcs.   Ugh...

Just for followers, I guess... Why I wasn’t here since november?  My life was a mess for many month starting october (around so) I had troubles at work. A lot happened there. My family and friends supported me but still I was tired as hell. I had energy only to get up, have my breakfast, go to work (spending about two hours to get to my office), do my job (staing for extra time every day), get home and sleep till it repeats again... ugh that winter was terrible. Also I had two new... I don’t know how to say it in Englsh. Rommate but at work? Two whome whith whome I plent 8 hours every day and one of theme was the hardest person to get along with like EVER. She still doesn’t like me because ‘you look at my screen’ (and I’m looking at the window) and ‘you should change hair cut immidiatly’ ‘listen to what I say, I’m older and have more expirience’ etc. I’m tired from this as well. Other woman is pretty nice, but they don’t get along with each other too, and I’m sitting with them ‘To make them avoid conflict. You’re friendly, right?’ as my boss told... Yeah was getting used to this situation for month. And I’m still not used to. So I’m planing quite my job. Then other things apeared. Around end of November I’ve started to have troubles with my health. More and more each week. This spring was the hardest time for me, but, thanks to my mom I’m feeling a lot better now. I will be healsy again as soon as I won’t be working at place that I described.  As for the Ichi/./Ruki - I could never leave this fandom in my life. I love it, most of my friends are IchiRuki (if they know what Bleach is - they are IchiRuki). I hope that I could make something good for the fandom in future. Also I was running IchiRuki Russian Calendar 2017 page. So... I’m back. Yay!
