so imagine... aika and zira are at a mall (aika wants to have Normal Teen Experiences!!) and eclipse is at a random store and sees aika and zira, but he does NOT want to deal with all that today so he tries to avoid them but ends up bumping into them later he calls her the full 'star guardian: guardian of the stars!' title and tries to cover for himself by pretending to be a huge fanboy (since I imagine he's not very recognizable in a normal ass human outfit) this leads to him having a really weird double life where half the time he's trying to defeat her and the other half he's pretending (even if it's not much of an act after a while) to be her biggest fan AND IT WORKS TOO!! since he'd obviously know all her coolest moments as he's either the one being defeated or there somehow idk I came up with this at 3am, thoughts?

okay last post lead us down a train of thought which ended up at why we arent that interested in genloss compared to how fascinated we were upon his initial discord ideaposting and the main reason is the intial genloss concepting was about applying analog horror degradation tropes via actual older physical media degradation and rerecording and like. current genloss is surely good but it is too crisp

This is the current evolution of the Thunderbearers, as I cannot stop talking about my stupid custom chapter.

From inception in Dawn of War 1, to Primaris after I started actually playing the game.

I made a bunch of color schemes for Firstborn, and for a long time, the Thunderbearers were very much a Firstborn chapter, as I kind of did not know how Primaris worked.

Maybe I could rebuild them as a Firstborn chapter so I can use pods and Heavy Bolters, and argue that they never got Primaris because their geneseed has been lost, as their origins are, as of now, completely unknown, much like the Blood Ravens. The only Primaris that would belong to the Chapter would be powerful Astartes who’ve crossed the Rubicon Primaris— Captains, Force Commanders, Librarians, etc.

But also I hate the way Firstborn look next to Primaris, holy shit. So I might just run it full Firstborn if ever I get the opportunity. Issue is, I’m like, 95% sure GW is phasing out Firstborn completely, so I’m not sure if sinking a fuckton of money into a Firstborn force is wise right now. Maybe they’ll make it so Primaris fit in pods when Space Marines Codex 2.0 drops. Who knows?

So the premise of Whisper of the Wastes is that during their final molt Hollow unlocks the ability of foresight and sees the future, them stuck in the Black Egg, the infection taking over and them powerless against it. In a sudden emotional breakdown they decide the best course of action is to Leave.

And so they do, running away and taking Little Sister with them out into the Wastes where they both lose their memories and end up in a settlement while Hallownest is in shambles trying to find the two/figure out a solution to the looming infection.

Something about the concept of a not quite stereotypically villainous rise turtles au but an au where they just. Don't. They all just feel so overworked/used/stressed/underappreciated that they just. Stop at some point. Discontent brewing within the family because they all go "my dad has done shit all why should I have to carry the burdens."

People keep getting mutated. Danger keeps occurring. Mutants are seen as even more of a threat because who's there to stop the actually bad ones? Not the turtles. Why should they? They're kids. Boohoo for you new York but they're too busy getting mad about why dad isn't fucking caring for them.

And when Splinter finally wants to acknowledge problems, it's too late. There's a brick wall up. Even with Raph, he's shut down. It's too late. Maybe Leo even pawns off their weapons to a certain hotel, I mean, if they aren't going to use them, why have them?

I’ve been on a catastrophic Warhammer 40k kick as of late, so I decided it might be a cool idea to start a blog documenting my journey exploring the hobby, since I’m still really new to it, and God knows that this hobby is dense.

I think it’s only appropriate to start with a post about my (currently work in progress) army, a custom Space Marines chapter called the Thunderbearers. They really like bolters, among other forms of Big Gun™.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War is where these silly gray goons originated, in the form of the Emperor’s Glaive, which eventually evolved into the Thunderbearers as I got more into the hobby.

This is the first real color scheme for the Thunderbearers. Originally, they were gonna be reliant on Devastators with Heavy Bolters because they’re cool as fuck, but then I learned that Primaris marines don’t have Devastators (or a lot of easily accessible Heavy Bolters).

So I decided to do Primaris instead, because GW already owns my soul this early in the game:

Here’s the first actual Thunderbearers marine that I painted. Not very good. Maybe the fourth or fifth mini I’ve ever painted, maybe the second or third time picking up a paintbrush in my life. And barely in line with what I wanted for the Thunderbearers, too, but it marks the humble start of what I hope turns into a very prosperous army. I start now with this single garbo model, and maybe I’ll end up in tourneys or something.
