Tails is autistic and struggles a lot with eating, there's a lot he can't eat due to sensory issues, and different flavors can get very overwhelming. While he is willing to try new foods, it's pretty stressful for him, and he absolutely hates wasting food and money, so he won't branch out unless he's pretty certain he'll either be able to handle it or someone else will finish it off for him. It really sucks sometimes, because he likes travelling and exploring and going to new places amd islands and countries! he likes going out with his friends and having fun!! But going to a new place to eat is always such a stressful and overwhelming experience, especially if he can't see or at least smell the food.

Luckily, Sonic not only loves to travel and explore, but he genuinely loves learning about and experiencing different cultures!! That includes food. Tails can always rely on him to suggest dishes he thinks he'll like, and describe what exactly is in them or what they're similar too. Sonic is also always fine with ordering first and letting Tails poke around his food and steal a few bites before deciding on what to order.

*gently holds*: I'm going to make sure nothing bad ever happens to her :)

They could have been such a great character if they were handled differently: I'm not sure if I have as much of a problem with how she was handled so much as I have a problem with how she is portrayed or interpreted post-facto, and the things that are left out of her story or not given enough time. I would have loved to see more of Lucy pre-Drac, I want more insight into her home life, her relationship with her mother, more scenes with her and Arthur and the rest of the polycule. It's not that she's a bad character, but there's just not enough. She reminds me a lot of Justine from the Dresden Files, and of course they share a lot in common generally, but especially the way they aren't given enough attention by the authors. If we only had two or three more scenes, it would make such a huge difference, and she would go from feeling like a vessel for plot and other people's to care about to a fully fledged character who has an interiority and life beyond the page.

Keysmash: Following on from the last one, I just want to defend her against everything and anyone who might criticise her. She's a sunshine child. The purest of cinnamon rolls.

Happy tdov to fat trans people. 🏳️‍⚧️ Biggest thing that helped me as a trans kid was seeing older fat trans people. There were a lot of really irritating "advice" posts going around early in my time on the internet with a lot of misinformation in them, but one that I constantly saw (in addition to people claiming you should wear your pants rediculously low or only wear button ups) were posts saying you had to lose weight to transition.
